I would say if you're not feeling well, no matter how bad it is, and no matter if you're on vacation or not, you gotta tell someone, especially your parents. Knowing what the world went through, and still is going through the past couple years, it's better to be safe than sorry. Also don't push yourself. If you really don't feel good, get some rest and don't push yourself to the point where it gets much worse

My special stuffed toy was of a toy horse that was passed down to my dog as his toy now
Either my dog learned how to not destroy things or the toy is incredibly durable as there is no damage to it at all. not even a single tear

Speaking of brightness, Sky has more glare I've noticed after some updates. I know that I got more or less blinded by a chibi wearing the white cape at the reef but even places like the wind paths cloud cave are a lot more... brighter and flat out just makes my skid glow

Any, honestly. You're meant to lose them. If you make it to the last area, you give your winged light to the statues and earn it back at the end. I'm getting ready to do a run with 159 wings myself.

I’d recommend trying to maximise your number of WLs before you go to Eden, but for earlier runs, I’d just take what you can get. There are 106-111 WLs around the world naturally (five are from shards, and thus random), so I’d say, maybe 80-100 or so. But it’s also not necessary, and a smaller amount of WLs might be better if you want to learn Eden so that you’re losing less, too.

I unfortunately got spoiled on the existence of krill before GW. But yeah, as soon as I entered Wasteland, I noticed something felt way off. The whale on the flight actually kind of scared me because of it. If felt like something dark and dangerous to me, and I actually found myself feeling glad that whatever it was, it hadn’t seen me.

Grass and Water are both common types, too. There’s a fair few games where you can get one or the other on, what, the second or third route?

water is one of the best types defensively on paper, with most of its mons carrying counters to one of its two weaknesses, while you're likely to encounter something supereffective against grass every other battle 😔

i've done a solo mon run using just a single mid-stage water type and ironically most of my trouble came from other water types. the game had multiple electric specialists too

Like take BW2 - why pick Oshawott when I can put in a little effort to pick up a Huge Power Azurill in the Ranch? I like Azumarill a lot more than Samurott, and it’s in its final stage at level 16 if you put in the effort to grind up friendship early.

I should do a Grass monotype sometime. For liking the type, I don’t actually have many thoughts on it…

Not to mention ice with the tanky types! The type is so slow and defensive despite how many weaknesses it has, why is Weavile the only one that’s decently fast?

@oak lake Gen 4 was not a good time for Fire-types. Even Platinum was a little lacklustre - without trading, that basically just opens up Houndoom to you. There’s Flareon, and I like it, but why go with that when the other evolutions are objectively better?

I’m not a competitive battler, but Nuzlockes have made me really enjoy the strategy and planning aspect to it. I love being able to analyse a gym leader and come up with a viable strategy for them. But I’ll very often use a Pokemon I like just because I grew attached to them. I ended my last Black Nuzlocke with an Unfezant and a Simipour on my final team - both Pokemon considered subpar.

Both of them I’d actually consider favourite Pokemon now.

A set of rules to make the game harder. It can be anything restraining but one thing I've found common on them is that whenever a pokemon is defeated, you can never use that pokemon again.

The ruleset depends, but the three core rules are that you can only capture the first Pokemon you encounter on a route, you have to nickname each of your Pokemon, and if they faint, they're considered 'dead' and must be boxed or released.

but i'm also doing a solo in smt5 and its fun! good amount of challenge, requires strategy and luck due to how many fights have gimmicks and how often you're outnumbered (its usually you have a party of 4), and i don't feel like i'm still able to brute force through fights (which is the main flaw of pokemon imo)

honestly as easy as affection makes the games, i like that it's there every game's like "woah you're the best trainer ever because you're bestest friends with your pokemon!!!" but it took until gen 6 for the player to be able to actually interact with their mons more than talking to them
plus it lets me hand-feed and cuddle very big and spiky mons so i think that justifies the mechanic all on its own
