There is a known issue with Google Play sometimes showing devices as not compatible when they really are. Give the following steps a shot:

-Force close all applications
-Pull down the notification bar on your Android device and hit the gear-shaped settings icon, or find “Settings” in the application tray.
-Navigate to Apps, or App Manager.
-Scroll down and find Google Play Store.
-Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
-Repeat steps for Google Play Games and Google Play Services
-Power your device completely down (do not hit the Restart button)
-BE SURE TO LINK YOUR SKY ACCOUNT TO GOOGLE TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS
-Launch Google Play Store and try reinstalling/updating Sky
-If it still shows up incompatible, close the App Store again and wait a little while before checking back.

We're still waiting to hear back from Google as to why this is happening for some devices, we have made no changes to compatible devices.

@wary tree the game saves progress by itself! You should go into settings and link your game to an email though to make sure you don't lose the game if there's a problem, and save your sky ID that you can find in the same settings as well

@fast hearth deleting the game, erasing caches and data from google play, google play services, google store and sky and then turning off your phone and turning it back on should restart a new game. If you've linked your game to an email and want to keep using the email as a linking base, you'll have to ask support to start over.

The reason why iPhones remain consistent is because Apple didn’t make their software open source like Google did, so no one but apple themselves can deploy iOS

Screen recording is fine on Android... The only problem is internal audio. As of now only Android 10 and 11 support recording internal audio. which means not all versions of Android that sky is available to run on is capable of recording internal audio... Inconsistencies can make the perfect reason to not include a feature.

I think Epic exclusivity was from the development team in charge of the port, not TGC. Still sad Journey for PC has issues with iGPUs. The engine just gives up if you have an iGPU and discreet GPU and freezes. 😭

I have gone over the detail of why some devices randomly lose CTS certification in previous posts. In short the reason why is Google is updating their play services for hardware attestation, and some devices lose certification due to parity bits still laying around. Clearing play store cache and data will clear those errored bits out letting you pass again. (Edit: that is you'll pass if you haven't tampered with your device like unlocking or rooting)

So, you can play sky on big screen with sound.

If you're linked, you're good. Just install and tap account after the beginning cutscenes and log into your account via Google or FB. It would ask if you want to abandon current progress, select abandon. Then you'll log into your account.

Your GPU is not currently listed as a GPU able to effectively do 60 FPS. While it is graphically capable, the game will not allow it

I have tried with an Adreno 615. Our device will only hit around 45 fps reliably. That is why 60 fps is locked out.

The funny thing is since we can't hit 60 fps, the game will actually lock to 30 fps causing some wicked motion blur.

Even on my Adreno 650... It's still utilizes over 50% of the GPU

And that's with the reduced resolution

Though I don't think the GPU load will raise all that much if the resolution was set to Max... Because I think most of that is rendering other things and not the pixels themselves.

Render resolution is a good chunk of performance which is why PC game benchmarks show different resolutions and have drastically different frame rates.

That's true... Genshin on my laptop at native resolution runs at around 15 FPS or less... But if I drop the internal resolution of my display to 480p then the performance improves to 50 to 60 FPS

I think that error is benign. #news is an "announcement" channel, so if you have webhook permissions on another discord server (like an admin) you can webhook the announcements to your server. I think the error you're seeing is due to permissions error on other servers.

try using your phone's built in recorder instead, if you have one
if you don't, I recommend installing something off the Play Store such as AZ Screen Recorder
the control stick and jump/flight buttons can be hidden from the screen by playing with a USB or Bluetooth game controller
if your device doesn't support recording internal audio, then you can work around this by hooking up a headphone splitter to your headphone jack, and then plugging in an aux cord to both ends of the headphone splitter

well, you can run Spotify in the background but Sky currently does not have an option to mute the music
doesn't even have a manual mute button, and I can't for the life of me figure out why

I understand that the headphones aren't in due to a technical limitation with Android audio detection being a fragmented mess, blame Google for that

file a report in #bug-reports-android and until that gets fixed, turn on Do Not Disturb mode on your phone while playing

So there is a "kind-of" solution for this whole music in the background issue

-if you want to listen to others songs while skying then use discord music, you can lower the your media vol and discord music plays through as a call so your call vol still be up

-if for anyother purpose, yeah we need a slider

That is death loop. Its been in the game since forever
It only happens if ||you go through eden with other players, and you dont die at the same time. Restarting your game may fix it, but its not guaranteed. You just have to wait it out at that point||
