Check to make sure you have no background apps stealing precious CPU cycles. Other solutions require a little more in depth knowledge of which Samsung it is, what Android version, if you can flash a custom kernel that uses a better scheduler or uses the GPU "Adreno Boost" that the software modding community uses. I use a custom kernel that even alleviates the known crash in GW due to LZMA compression.

Some Samsung devices have what's called a Game Mode (Some don't). Also temporarily enabling Do not keep activities in the Developers Options can go a long way. Additionally, setting the Limit background processes to No background processes. @obsidian shore Some Samsung also the ability to change the resolution of the screen, select the smallest option (again... some don't).

It's generally not advised to try to upgrade your operating system to a 64-bit operating system... Namely because the developers that created the device chose 32-bit for a reason.

It is recommended to get a phone that is 64-bit and compatible with Sky.

It's a known issue, there's a detailed suggested fix in the pins. Essentially, you'll need to clear both cache and data off your google play store app, then shut down your phone completely before turning it back on to try downloading/finding sky again.

Yeah, living in EU it's a bit of a struggle. As far as I know, the next model will have a new processor, but I have some awesome deals on the normal S20 in my country and since Sky is a deal breaker I'm really curious of the performance since my S9 barely handles the game

Its nothing new, It is just three weeks for me and I have experienced so many bugs too many times. Flowers not melting (not limited to wasteland), black screen when going through gates (only happens on Android I've heard), wing places empty just after eden full run, teleport gates won't work, door switches won't work and the most frustrating is server seperating you and your friends. These are only the most frequent ones. I think the devs are working on fixes, it might take time.

to fix the crashing at the shipwreck: get a custom kernel with LZMA compression. Pixel 3a stock kernel crashes when loading. ElementalX kernel (which has LZMA compression and other optimizations, so don't know if it is exactly that) doesn't crash.

I sent them a very verbose log of the crash last night so hopefully that will help them pinpoint the issue

I don't think the apk's are compressed, LZMA or otherwise, if that's what you mean. They're the same size unzipped as packaged.

Custom kernals usually have a more recent version of OpenGL and Vulkan drivers, which definitely could be a benefit.

It appears that Google, the developer behind Android and ChromeOS, has included some Android API in Chromebooks. This means that certain Chromebooks are able to download and install Android applications natively. With the new addition of a Snapdragon Chromebook, AKA an arm-based ChromeOS, it is entirely possible that Sky could be not only downloaded but played on chrome OS without any need to modify anything. Since sky is not as popular as GTA or Pubg, I cannot find any results as to whether or not this is possible.

And I'm 99% sure the only thing stopping my particular Chromebook from running it is the fact that it's not on ARM, something I didn't think about at the time of that conversation

Not that I'd buy one, but a Chromebook with a Snapdragon would probably be able to run Sky extremely well

if Android x86_64 ever gets supported, by that time the Switch and PC versions will probably already be out anyway so it won't matter for me haha

There is a known issue with Google Play sometimes showing devices as not compatible when they really are. Give the following steps a shot:

-Force close all applications
-Pull down the notification bar on your Android device and hit the gear-shaped settings icon, or find “Settings” in the application tray.
-Navigate to Apps, or App Manager.
-Scroll down and find Google Play Store.
-Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
-Repeat steps for Google Play Games and Google Play Services
-Power your device completely down (do not hit the Restart button)
-BE SURE TO LINK YOUR SKY ACCOUNT TO GOOGLE TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS
-Launch Google Play Store and try reinstalling/updating Sky
-If it still shows up incompatible, close the App Store again and wait a little while before checking back.

We're still waiting to hear back from Google as to why this is happening for some devices, we have made no changes to compatible devices.

my device is 64-bit, but it uses x86_64 instead of ARM

what's really weird is i'm pretty sure mine supports 32-bit ARM in the android side of things, but not 64-bit

because mine runs android 9, has 8 GB of RAM, has openGL ES 3.1, vulkan 1.1.96, and i definitely have enough storage space

But if you want to play on someone else's phone, make sure your account is linked to either your Google account or iOS game center account. I did a full run today with others but for the first time I experience so many glitches while playing and there are times that I've got lost on those glitches and need to go back home and find them in the map to follow. you can have 1 sky account on different devices the easiest way is to link your account with a google account. then we you install sky on a another device, you just need to sign into that google account in-game. this works for android and ios devices, so you could do this on an ipad too if you decide to get one.

Yes, Sadly current Exynos processors are good for light duty work or raw compute power. Anything reliant on the GPU is sub-par compared to Snapdragon

That might change when Samsung uses AMD's RDNA in future phones, but current Exynos are pretty bad for anything graphics related.

Fun fact, the Adreno GPU in Snapdragons are based off AMD's Radeon mobile line (imageon archatecture, which AMD sold to Qualcomm back in 2009 or so). Adreno is just an anagram of Radeon.

Hi Android users. I don't know if this is already known to you but I discovered the reason for our games crashing or not responding or black screen loading on shipwreck wasteland map.

It's a graphics issue. Using HIGH fps or higher graphics settings in WASTELAND causes the crashes. But LOWERING DOWN our graphics settings BEFORE entering or exiting SHIPWRECK actually solves the crashing problems. So turn that graphics down before you enter or exit. This also applies to any other map or area you experience crashes.

Hi Android users. I don't know if this is already known to you but I discovered the reason for our games crashing or not responding or black screen loading on shipwreck wasteland map.

It's a graphics issue. Using HIGH fps or higher graphics settings in WASTELAND causes the crashes. But LOWERING DOWN our graphics settings BEFORE entering or exiting SHIPWRECK actually solves the crashing problems. So turn that graphics down before you enter or exit. This also applies to any other map or area you experience crashes.

I have exynos too in my phone (samsung as well), since I was in EU at the time I bought it. I get lot of lags, but mostly when I'm with friends, doesn't happen a lot when alone or with strangers. Although, I often set to default mode (works better than the low one) for graphics. But for wasteland, it's really random, there are days I can't get through it and other days it runs so smoothly.

if your friend already downloaded the game and it was compatible then, have your friend report it. If your friend has never been able to download the game based on compatibility, it's unlikely that your friend will be able to play. You can double check the info in the pins about device capability for specific devices

@prime verge the Galaxy A10 is a 32bit device. Unless TGC starts making a 32bit version of the game, it won't be compatible with the A10. See pins. The requirements is the system being able to read and use 64bit instructions.

i dont know if this works for everyone, but ive noticed that when the screen fades to black after enter/exiting shipwreck, i let go of the controls and stop running (i may still slide but im not touching the controls) and i tend to not crash vs when I keep running after the screen fades I usually crash. Just something to try out, idk how well it works for others

Please make sure you have enough storage on your device. The game itself is under 1gb but can take up to 3gb to download and install all files. Try clearing cache+data, powering your device completely down, restarting and reinstalling the game from Google Play Store or Google Play Games. Be sure to link your account before uninstalling to save your progress.

It is possible for the game to internally record itself. But you will never get the same quality as the one on the iPhone;(unless you're using something like the s20+) and there's a lot of complications that make it difficult.

Isn't the A5 and A7 built on a 32 bit OS? I would have your friend check with an app on the play store called "64 bit checker." It will let you know if that system is 32 bit or 64 bit.

If it is 32 bit, updating wouldn't matter as per the pins, the game requires arm 64 bit. Not to fret though. I do see some custom kernels out there that are built as 64 bit. It is just up to the end user if they are comfortable going that route.
