Something that's canon in my sky world is that they can sense their cores as darkness or not light people. So they won't take him as a light people

Well they don't eat random people. Most of the time, they eat bad people. Also they have a preference for manta people(they are basically enemies)

To help people understand, I'm gonna share a bit of krillkid lore in my sky story.

• Dark dragon People (krillkid) are disgraced and taken as pests. So light people and manta hunts them down. Darkness people stay neutral with them.
• Dark dragon people often camp in places with krill like graveyard or the abyss. The reason? To get free meals. Since krill only kills, dark dragon people can take advantage of the corpses.
• There are people who are called light eater, they are almost the same as dark dragon people, except they don't have krill features or communicate with krill's
• There's a special organization that hunts dark dragon people.
• Dark dragon people lives in tribes far away from civilization. You'd have to be lucky to find one and not get killed.
• Some dark dragon people has krill companion. Mostly babies or juvenile so Akuji with her adult krill is very rare.
• Dark dragon people can use half krill form, allowing more brute force and better speed.
• Mask in dark dragon tribe is a sign of hierarchy. The highest being phoenix mask, commonly use by royals.
• Dark dragon people can sense core and true colors. This helps people hunt and differentiate ally and foe. They also bury unlucky good people that accidentally got krilled (they still have heart ok)

||my skykids can eat and drink but it's usually because why not. i like to think that skykids process foods and drinks into light.
in my au thing, there's a popular cafe named Sakura Cafe in prairie that serves smoothies and tea and is also known for its sakura tree planted by its owner. Its lovely winds is also controlled by its owner and only employee of the place, Cherry, who opened the cafe in honor of her soster who unfortunately passed from a krill attack.

there's also a bar that serves (very dark water free!) cocktails and sparkling drinks to mostly dark creature hunters in wasteland. the owner of that bar, Apus, overhears everything said in it although they know to keep their mouth shut (also he has prosthetic legs after an incident in wastelands. Apus doesn't talk about it although he can kick really really hard now which is useful for literally kicking out unruly customers)

there's even an au-only place that's filled with skykid chefs that practice the art of cuisine. haven't developed that place much tbh

dark and corrupted skykids have to eat light to survive though the more passive ones eat butterflies and mantas. the hostile ones tend to attack skykids for their light though so there's an organization dedicated to fighting them off. dark skykids tend to have a hard time going back to eating light creatures after eating the light of a skykid. krill kids tend to be far more agressive than dark and corrupted skykids though and act more like wild beasts much like their krill bretheren
