when it comes to folds or any type of cloth movement lines, you gotta look for the parts that are tight versus loose and basically make the lines either meet those spots, or flow away from them

and when its longer things, like capes/drapes/dresses/etc, usually start with the top tight area, and draw the bottom of the item so you have an idea of where you'll want your folds to go

also if this is the same sketchbook app that i have, you can always pick a purple, blue or red color, color over what you have in spots you want shaded, and play with the layering settings to get a darker color. I use overlay or multiply and go from there

shading is really hard at the beginning =w= also don't forget to mark where your light source is, so you know what parts of the drawing will be lit versus shaded. and if you want to be a lil extra, you can finish your shading layer, then put a new one over it and mess with the layer settings again, usually I use soft glow or soft light, and add in highlights using a lighter shade of the color used for the flat colors =w= ❤️ i hope this helps

Once you understand shading and a light source, you’re golden on learning on your own, all you have to learn the shading levels

plus just mess around with the brushes sketchbook offers, it helps a lot when you find the right brush for the shading/highlighting job :3c there's even some free ones you can download and try out but honestly I just make my own at this point
