I do a mix of things. For a cleaner look I like to use markers as a color base and go over it with pencils. I don't paint much but that would be a lot of fun :>

I once tried making my sky kid out of oil pastels,, but it was messy and the oil pastels would blur themselves together

Ohhhh yeah oil pastels are very soft and take a lot of patience. I can't deal with them myself. 😅 when using a softer material like that try to make a hard outline of where you want the colors to go and exactly where to blend them. Otherwise they will muddle together hahaha.

And always use lighter colors first cause then the darker colors will make it look gray. NO BLACK UNLESS YOU HAVE TO.

I haven’t had much experience with oil pastels, so I can’t say I dislike them, it was new to me so it takes practice. Maybe this weekend I’ll use them again

Maybe you can try water colors, if your going for fantasy try light blues pinks and purples, maybe golds. If your going for more dark fantasy then grays blues and blacks would be nice

If you haven’t had much experience with water colors I recommend trying them out on a new piece of paper then on your drawing, just incase if you mess up and you don’t need to keep starting over.

I think you should make the body a little bit wider and the head a little bit smaller, I draw big heads to so I cant really say it looks off. The colors are fine. The hands are a little bit too pointy. But, It looks great in my opinion!

Google says that after like ~14 layers it can start lagging whatever device you're using
