is the camera taking this from a high angle? in that case, her ears should be positioned slightly higher on her face, and her thighs should be pushed closer to her body - they're too long right now compared to the lower legs

if the camera is at eye level, the face is fine, but the lower leg should be longer to match the length of the thigh, and her knees should be bent at a sharper angle to account for this length
her legs should also just be thicker in general to support her body to avoid the top-heavy look currently

also i recommend flowing the cape outwards instead of leaving it resting by her arms and extending her legs out, to the left, making it feel a bit more relaxed and carefree and helping the form flow better ^^ but these are just personal preferences haha, dont take these suggestions if you don't like the look of them 🙂‍↕️

I usually have some sorta reference photo up but as for composition, youre actually ahead of me in terms of actually studyimg proper point perspective. I went out to work on drawing, and realized with the Skytober prompt that I... only had a .5 micron with me — no pencils or other pens or anything —hich was having a bit of ink stutter at first... so I decided to do some rough pen-scribble freehand sketches to get an idea of what I would want to do before I start the actual one. This is my first attempt.

Given all of Two Embers, the thing that affected me hardest was the very first quest where we help Tender Toymaker. I'm blanking on the exact wording it used, but the commentary referred to part of the disaster being caused by treating kindness as a commodity to be hoarded and rationed carefully instead of shared freely — and the fact that this problem caused a slowly-worsening disability fits well. I do not think they could have chosen a more fitting and agonizing way to drive that point of what treating compassion as a commodity does, right from the get-go, than the way they showed Toymaker fighting to just keep going.

...I actually like the scratchy pen look. I'm going to do the final in rough pen once I nail down exactly what I want. It fits a bit too well.

@solar dock Unfortunately, we can't allow non-sky artwork here, per our server #rules — but I'm glad you have had a bit of success against art block recently! I relate to art block struggles — one artblock-breaking exercise I use is to set a timer and do 5-10 drawings on a theme with a pen, as fun as possible and as silly and flowing as possible, where I set a timer and each drawing gets only 60 seconds. It's really fun and funny at the same time, and it challenges me to think with my hands instead of my mind. Some of my favorite ones to do are Sky crabs or Skykid doodles — you could try those?

An update on this: I did a bit more communicative scribbling on the sketch, and also added a bunch of notes. I wish I had a pencil and not only a pen that kept getting scratchy on ink, but I like "thinking through my hands" sometimes and I love the notes aesthetic, so enjoy my very loose left-handed handwriting.

Can anyone help me about sky cape cosplay?

I was thinking of making myself a cape to cosplay to a conference!

I was wondering if I should make some kind of strap for my shoulders so the cape won't fall off [especially considering the crowds]. While also allowing me to not worry too much about where or how the cape is positioned. So far there isn't much cosplay tutorials, and the few that was out there didn't really specify using straps or anything. So I was just curious... if anyone is more experienced in cosplay please lend some knowledge!

I'm not an expert but what I can advice is you could try make an invisible straps so it won't be too obvious that you have straps on your cape and it'll look nice and neat to look at

I got jumpscare today when found my use sketchbook from like just 5 month ago. I finish it and never check it again after a week. I remember them, but it feel different now . I can give you advice on this!

Make it so that yout Sky character has an overall look they always have like their overall hair length, usual mask colors and themes, or just overall "go to" cosmetics. But for each time, place and situation, give your Skysona/OC an outfit they wear that makes sense.

My pfp is my default ocean Skysona but in my drawing just now I gave her a Two Embers appropriate fit.
