personally i like to look at pinterest to see different artstyles of how most do it- the general trend is an elongated face shape with smaller eyes placed higher and a more structured jaw

depending on your artstyle (or not because doing it regardless of your style helps you get used to proportions) you can pull up pictures of skulls and trace them to get a general idea of where everything goes

then once you're comfortable with the base shape, you can move onto drawing actual flesh on top of the skull by using an actual skull reference as a base

Krills just have such a cool design in general so its always a delight to see artists interpretation of them.

Short draft of these three's lore

The jackal boy is named Gizbar, The Wandering Warrior, a man who walks the world with the blank intent to fight and hunt down creatures of darkness, are his deeds fuelled by his past? Or does he merely lack purpose? nobody knows for sure.

The weasel lady is Kitsuki, the Lost Shual, the leader of her tribe hidden away in a secluded glade in the woods, despite being the tribe's chief, she is plagued with the thought that she may be unfit of her role.

One fateful night while Gizbar was wandering aimlessly through the woods, heavily wounded, he was spotted by Kitsuki who at the time was patrolling the outskirts of her tribe's domain.

Just as she saw him, he collapsed to the ground from exhaustion. She called out to her fellow tribe members, who helped carry him to their camp where his injuries were treated.

Gizbar awoke the next morning, he spent the whole day befriending all the locals, especially Kitsuki until it was time to say goodbye.

As a token of his appreciation he would return to the tribe every now and then, bringing gifts from all the adventures he'd go on.

Eventually he and Kitsuki bore a child, who stays with her mother, though when her father is around, the two are inseparable.

@lilac current For the proportions I see it as this curvy semicircle shape. With the blue part being the back portion of the feathers. Hope this helps

There’s always references on feathers that you could look up

As for the shoulders, i think with the way it’s tucked close makes me think that they’re very tense or something, but the way it is slanted downward means that you could widen it and make it slant a little more down using the liquidify pen.

Otherwise it’s looking pretty good!

its more complicated than that, blue is associated with serenity, calm and sadness is a very passive color while pink is releated with love of course but also with insanity as it can get an irie feeling if done right, red is more about passion, its a color that can quickly grab your attention if you contrast it with more subtle colors

Lore:
Even though life could be tough, a poor trainboy "Comet" had his life miserable. Although as for his little sister "Santi", he treats her like a little princess. Comet did all his best to provide his sister the happiness, warmth and love she needs even though the struggle of working young is hard. Along with Comet sometimes being a troublemaker he takes his sister to adventures as they unfold the world in their hands.

This was just done arbitrarily so feel free to tweak things a bit if it does pique your interest. I hope this may spark some inspiration!
