I'm finally working on an old Eden Gate sketch, but I'm stuck. Do I include the Dawn Elder in it? Their mask isn't on the gate, but I feel bad leaving them out... I could squeeze them in between Forest and Prairie?

my other idea leans more toward #eden-spoilers , so spoiler tags: ||I was thinking making the center the rebirth door, and have the Dawn Elder standing in it waiting for you to walk through?||

So I'll happily take ideas/input lol

Oh, and I thought I'd mention- yes, it's intentionally flipped lmao. they'll align with their proper places on the gate in the end. Forgot to unflip it for here

Feels a bit cramped as of right now; you'd be able to show more of that door too.

I'm trying to keep them in the shape of the Eden Gate, so like on one side you see just the gate, then flip it over and see the Elders waiting for you. Trying to keep their masks in the same location as on the gate, hence my dilemma over Dawn haha

Oof, that's a tough one because I use a bunch of brushes I grabbed from a lot of different places at one point or another (I also like to experiment with brushes I usually don't use). But I really enjoy Procreate's brushes from the painting section (especially the oil paint brush, turpentine and Nikko Rull, all used in the video ^^), and when it comes to details I usually go for one of the pencil brushes

Try asking for people’s skids doing a pose! It helps me still draw while I don’t have any motivation but still wanna sketch because it gives me somewhat of a time limit ^^ (I really like the fluid poses )

perhaps it's something you're not finding, or it could be something with your canvas settings. try to reset it again and use it on a new canvas. if that doesn't work, i can only assume that it's the same as it's always been but just looks odd

War of Darkness AU dragon redesign based off of shattering hehe
i can't decide if i want the dragon to be a darkness dragon, based off of darkness plants, or the darkness shards, so just have this weird shard dragon

tips on art styles? your style is unique to you, so there aren’t very many common rules, but i’ll try and give a few:

• try to avoiding sacrificing things like exaggerated facial expressions to keep it looking ‘pretty’. if your character is bawling their eyes out, they probably won’t have UwU anime eyes
  - check out other people’s art styles, and take the things you like the most from them. maybe you like one artist’s brush, but you like another artist’s colours. mix and match things to make it your own!
  - don’t feel pressured to draw exactly like another artist, because everyone’s craft is diverse

max opacity, i started by chunking the bg into colours then i merge them down and add darker colours on the same layer for a softer blend

similar deal, max opacity. used it on the characters, on a sep layer with add and multiply

i used airbrush normal and particle for the not-really-visible lights in the bg

i also use digital pen on max size and a clipping layer to quickly colour over something. i normally also use hard dip pen for sketching and lines and stuff but this is lineless paint-style so it doesnt apply here

the clouds used a custom cloud brush i downloaded but idr how or what its called

mess around with add and multiply layers. id suggest using strong vibrant colours, i used blue-purple for multiply and pink add. those two r the best highlight n shading layer modes ive found so far
overlay is good for making the colours more vibrant but use it on a lower opacity

I have a AU for Sky. And it's been awhile since I have had it refined

So ima show the 4 different Races for my AU, then ima going to explain what it's about. After I would like people to help with suggestions to make it better.

These are The Rases and The names of the Races.

So, Somepeople in the Art Chat know of my very Unique Way of drawing Sky Children, How depending on the type of cape you will get 1 of 4 Races.

The Toriela's the most common with 62 different Patterns (Grows with new Capes added) They Have Bird like wings

The Chola's with 11 different Patterns (Grows with new Capes added) they have Butterfly or Fairy like wings.

The Komoria's a Rare type of Race with 6 Different Patterns. ( Grows with new Capes added) They have Bat like wings.

The Sakuna's The water based Race with Tails instead of wings. With 3 different Patterns (Grows with new Capes Added).

:Note I have not added the Season of Shattering Capes yet. Or any other passed, including Event capes

The Concept that I wish to add is this. You know that when someone Joins the game (or in this case when a Sky Child is born) they don't have a cape? Well, I was thinking maybe the New Sky Child could Choose its own Race! Like We often call new Playes Moth's so what if I give the Moth name to the Chola rase for newborns! I would only have to come up with different newborn rase names

Toriela baby's are called Hatchlings
Chola Babys are called Moths
Komoria baby's are called Pups
And Sakuna Babys are called Guppies.

So Cute~

It's actually why I made this concept, I was sitting here trying to figure out just that. We Give New players the name Moth so I would draw them as such, but I didn't like the idea of everyone's being a Butterfly Race from the get go. So when I remembered that they are capeless when born it gave me this great idea!

I think I would make it a option to be reborn to that Race, so if you wanted to change you would have to go through Eden. It would also give a reason for eden to exist instead of being the forgotten kingdom in my AU.

That or maybe you can have a Temporary potion so if you a land based Race you can Go underwater, or Viseversa
