Granted the only way we know how to enter the Vault is for Dusk Elder to open the doors to their temple. This is after the Eden calamity that killed all the ancestors and maintenance hasn’t been in for a while.

The Vault could’ve been like a library — public, easily accessible. The only part that seemed to be restricted are the “forbidden archives” on the first floor past the two player door. The rest of it could’ve been free to roam

With the stars united, our light was infinite. But darkness came and the stars fell, creating a new home in the clouds. A long time has passed…it is time to bring our lost stars home. Wake up Child of the Light, your adventure begins now.

It gives me an idea about how the old and new intros can both be true simultaneously. Perhaps the spirits used to live in the stars before any memories we get to see, but then something happened and they fell to the clouds, marking the beginning of the Sky world. Their mission was to make their way back to the stars little by little, but, (if only they had listened) they decided to stop ascending and to just grow their society and remain in the cloud realm. They persisted, weakening their link with the stars until the stars fell again a second time, trapping them with no longer any way back to the stars, until sky kids come and assist.

But does It have a malevolent counterforce? If we assume They made the Spirits - or what they once were - then it’s clear to assume Megabird made them not expecting something bad to happen. But something bad did happen - and it may be happening once more - and it’s long past time I ask this question.

So the Megabird was basically made to cater to the dead but then she said “nah screw you” and borthed Sky children.

The other possibility is the pillars lining PNR area. I think they have beveled tops like this. There is that row of them on each side at the beginning at least. They are not all messed up but intact and in two rows.

I personally think it was done in a different order:
Gods created the first race
Gods made Megabird
People made heinous acts and the Gods decided to remove them
This made Megabird upset and They disrupted Eden, the king’s grave, to seal them away.
They then made the Skyds.

During the time of the Ancients, 7 were put on thrones by the king to govern the smaller areas and provide guidance. Those 7 are the Elders we know today.

As for the king’s grave, the king was the first to die, by cause of a jealous prince. The king’s soul was ingrained into Eden after he died, and this was the tipping point for the Gods. The prince grew corrupted by the mercilessness of the Gods’ wrath and rage, and he is now the diamond in the Point of No Return. (Prince’s story is mildly based off of the concept art for the King.)
The seven Elders, with the blessing of the Megabird, barely survived to some extent.
The rest of the Spirits had simply passed.

Years later, after Megabird had triumphed, They found Their world in a state of disrepair, so They made a new race, but one that had two purposes: Save the darkness from its own cold clutches, and be a better race than the last.

...I am not sure how valid my thought here is, and maybe people already put this out before, and really this doesn't really change much..
But I am thinking
Could spirits be the old sky kids?
1)Like the ones with capes now have stars on them (and I think older ones? Like grandma in the forest, have more than of them? Like she had around five dots on her cape, last time I looked)
2)Then the spirits moving as a little blue stars of light, like ||the ones sky kids become after they lose their body||
3)Their body is covered in dark matter, like ||sky kids become covered in it in Eden,after loosing the light||
4)And we kinda have not so many of them, (like we clearly don't see all of people of civilization), so there is something standing them apart from other citizens
5)Plus, we know there were sky kids in times of the spirits from Ushering Stargazer's memories?

The king’s grave was more or less my own doing, I took a creative liberty. But it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.

It may be related to death/mortality, as skykids are more aligned to the light (white, orange, yellow) and a blue skykid (with their body/light, not cosmetics) would be unlit.

I have a theory that the Eden King failed on his task on protecting/leading the ancestors on the right path. So the elders decided to overthrow him for the sake of the Sky Realm. The prince, was sent by the elders to be crowned by megabits when he became stuck between eden and orbit, light and dark child we see when ascending.

Power diamonds from forest are theoretically made from mantas
Forest is the only realm seen to be producing these diamonds, to use on doors
Prairie elder wanted to stop them using the mantas as ingredients for the diamonds, because he didn't want his light creatures to be hurt.
The cosmic mantas in vault, are almost like real mantas, but more like memories. As if they we're "dead". Now what if these mantas are originally from prairie, got produced into a diamond and got sent to vault of Knowledge. No one really knows what happened to the other mantas. The story continues...

And they seem willing to supply the light needed for the power diamond manufacturing.. in evidence to prairie having a Lightcatcher (light here are butterflies) occupation and these butterflies are then stored in jars and sent to forest

Yes, darkstone ushered a a golden age of prosperity but in turn it gave corruption (parallels to real world situation, the progress of technology and machinery has hurt the environment)

I know, but I don’t know if the people and elder especially in prairie would’ve been ok with that at the expense of light creatures, if it wasn’t necessary. Iirc a lot of concepts also imply thst the people/elder in that area were against it on some level, and the only thing I can think of to convince them is if it was absolutely necessary for them to survive…

It’s just a thought that’s been bouncing around in my head for a bit, and also worth noting that the lore probably has changed and developed a fair bit since concepts. Using that as our only source for reasoning can go south quickly!

They are extremely vague in their current in game iteration, so that’s why there’s not much canon info on them.

There is one other option and that is prairie going along with it so that they wouldn’t get attacked/exiled. Isle could afford to do its own thing because it seemed pretty independent in terms of both geography and culture, but I’m not sure about Prairie.

Since we don’t have a lot of evidence for why specifically yet, I like to go with the option that darkstone became necessary for survival at some point, just because I think it’s a bit cooler

Bones from light creatures only exist when these creatures die an unnatural death. It is indeed possible that tuna (or whale) bones have been corrupted by darkwater and turned back to life (naturally or artificially up to debate those krill spotlights look artificial to me)

King krill/leviathan actually doesnt explode into light creatures.. if you go back to the abyss you will see it still swimming there but not hostile (i go back there after runs if Im in the mood)

Not much is found in dreams lorewise its really about the story of a child aspiring to fulfill their dream of performing in the coliseum (which was the center of the valley where people both rich and poor go iirc)

For prophecy it follows the prophecy about a child of light completing the trials where everyone else failed and gained power over the four primary elements.. bestowing of power of the elders (at least in my perspective), the establishement of the realms and eden, and finally the coronation of the child/prince as king

Every time a sky kid ascends in Eden, the light leaves and the body stays behind (statue). They get a brand new body when reborn.

With thousands of sky kids reborn every week, the piles of broken sky kid shells build up, making the mountain taller and taller.
Imagine a sky kid go in Eden, and found a familiar statue: "Oh wow that was my previous body! Still handsome as ever!". And they walk, carefully kick the arms, legs and other body parts of other broken statues to the side, to keep the main road clean so moths won't trip on them.

Considering sky is post apocalyptic and had things like elevators, I fully accept that modern things existed, rather than thinking the spirits were archaic and medieval.

It's not really modern vs wasteland, but rather, when I go to Treasure Reef, I get this feeling that, despite it being a wide open ocean, this is totally a floating island in the sky with a floating sky ocean. But when I go to Sanctuary, I feel like I've reached the surface of the sky world.

Some improvement are slowly added in later releases . For example Prophecy totem had no light emblem for the first 3 Trials (around 4-5 weeks)

Last thing before I go. Ever since Prophecy I wondered if this is a symbol/emblem representing the Eden Diamond. But I also wonder why there are two octahedrons, one over the others and if they were ment to be broken (or without the tips)

Someone took a joke I made earlier and thought 'information is absolutely confirmed' off of it. So either lore moths are going to take the whole document seriously despite the note, or they're going to realize the note means at least some of the info is unreliable and stress about it. I just don't think it's proper to give it to them in this state
