All my debts have been paid. You, the krill supporter, should be the one to agree with me.
Sky has absolutely no relation to communism. There is no class struggle we see in Sky. The distribution of wealth is unequal.
Lies, in this most sacred of chats? Don't you know...
your heart debt can't ever be paid
I'm just gonna put this here because it talls about eden
idk if it's helpful or not
If I try hard enough I could lick the big shiny rock in eden
There is no class struggle
cough
My service to lorechat has paid the debt by itself. What have you done to further the Wooly Manta cause
Oh and hello Sarelia
coughs loudly
Classes ≠ class struggle. The lower class spirits we see look quite happy
Coughing?!!
Public service cannot pay a private debt, especially when the interest rate has grown for so long
My public service is that amazing so that it pays off any debt, especially when it has been corrupted.
systems functioning off inequality will inherently manifest struggles and persecution in order to maintain said inequality. some are happy with their lot, but they will face difficulties due to said classism
true we could do some research with the areas and count the sprits in those places it’s what irl geographers do to estimate a lot of important information
We can also see the emotes of the sprits, see what they were like (how they felt there)
The problem is: every spirit we see thinks of off an individualist capitalist mindset.
how do you know that?
Capitalism is an economic system in which a country’s economy is controlled or influenced by private owners for profit. Spirits are these private owners
I can see maybe capitalism in a place like the valley but what about other places? To me they seem kinda just there except maybe the forest
people making goods and selling them to others ≠ capitalism
what spade said tbh, capitalism isnt the only system in which there's private owners
To me that just sounds like an excuse to refuse paying what is rightly owed. It is the least you can do after everything you've done
I ALSO JUST WANNA MENTION HOW THE POWER DIAMONDS FROM SOME PERSPECTIVES CAN BE VIEWED AS A SIGN OF WEALTH AND THUS THE TWO SHIELDS IN WASTELAND MIGHT REPRESENT TWO SIDES IN A PEOPLE'S UPRISING-
I don’t know if anyone remembers the manta plushie but I’ll have you know they are 1/3 of the way sewn together
Rightly owed? You aren’t even the original creator of the debt.
That reminds me
what does a manta feel like?
Is it fluffy? Is it velvety? DOES IT FEEL LIKE A CLOUD? IT IS LIKE A BLANKET SEWED FROM GRIFFIN FEATHERS THAT IS ILLEGAL IN 27 COUNTRIES-
I'm reporting you to the IRS or your equivalent tax/debt-collecting agency
yo that’s so cool… you’re gonna have your own manta. incredible
I am not afraid of the International Republic of Sky (IRS)
I made it from fabric similar to fluffy/soft blankets
||also I’m gonna out a squeaker in it-||
How do you tax light?
Especially if light is basically their blood?
This is 1000% lore-accurate you are amazing aaaAAAAAA-
Easy!
you take it
Punishment of debt being transfusions/possibly death is… dark
They'll reincarnate!
probably
"Taxing light"
That reminds me of a story where folks in a certain time and place were taxed for the amount of windows they had to let sunlight in (I think in Europe, will look for it shortly), which is where the term Daylight Robbery might have been coined by this.
Essentially the tax was so ridiculous, people went and bricked up their windows to avoid being taxed for them.
Stealing your friends/strangers wings once they're krilled/crabbed/rocked >:) /hj
Also keep in mind we see like 7 spirits in the entirety of valley so. not the greatest sample size to judge happiness
My guess for how this works in Sky is that gw was very lower classe area and valleu was upper. like, it still works with the concept art UOU mentioned, but with lower added (words hard am struggling) and that went badly so
Most of the Valley spirits seem pretty well-off since we don’t see most of them actually working (unless the only work is performing which is unlikely)
Found it: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/education/resources/georgian-britain-age-modernity/window-tax/
Window tax receipt, dated 25 March 1755.
The window tax, based on the number of windows in a house, was first introduced in 1696 by William III to cover revenue lost by the clipping of coinage. It was a banded tax according to the number of windows in the house. For example, for a house in 1747 with ten to 14 windows, the tax was 6d per window; it increased to 9d with more windows. Not long after its introduction, people bricked up their windows to avoid paying the tax.It was repealed in 1851 after pressure from doctors and others who argued that lack of light was a source of ill health. (QAB 1/13/27)
Valley would be like the San Francisco or Pittsburgh or New York of the Sky kingdom — yes you may need to work and there are obviously classes that determine how available you are to work on your craft, but that’s a city where artists converge to create and promote their art. It’s an artisan city
I’d say most Forest spirits are poor
Rural, perhaps
Yeah, as far as class/wealth goes, I’d say it probably (from least to most) went Isle -> Forest -> Prairie -> Valley -> Vault -> Wasteland?
I’d imagine the wealth increased through the realms, as the general level of technology increased
yeah that makes sense
i would think that valley was the richest :0
Very rushed but why you can’t give fluffy manta boba:
I need boba tea with light balls in it
Can anyone give me some lore on the temple in the Isle of Dawn pls?
It’s the Isle Elder’s temple
and it has an isle elder in it-
big building. has elder. not entirely sure what else to put
building in clouds-
Out of all the elders who do you think is the easiest to overrun?
Hypothetically—
For science-
I made a comic about this, thanks for inspiring this:
#completed-sky-fanart-and-creations message
Isle or prairie-
I love it—
Overrun meaning take out?
Saw this on Instagram
that’s one of the most absurd laws I’ve ever heard. love it
wait no the beard tax is probably weirder (yeah it’s real. look it up)
Looks like that artist’s take on the states skykids can experience. Remind me of Tom Zhao’s, which I don’t think is wholly canon but cool to look at
what if the vault was this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyager_Golden_Record
but spanning an entire library ?
the golden record is likened to a bottle thrown to the sea, which kinda fits this game since the ancestors left us things in the hopes we will, maybe eventually, find a way to understand. Such as the vault memory cubes.
resisting the urge to ramble about space
SO THATS WHY SO MANY ANCESTORS ARE BALD
that’s what I’m thinking ir was too!!! Idk if that was its purpose originally but my headcanon at least is that it turned into that later
love this take on skykids so much
This has always been my headcanon huhu
NASA sent Voyager 1 with the Golden Record in hopes it would reach out to extraterrestrials. humans interested in space often wonder whether there are other intelligent beings in the universe and, if so, whether we would be able to contact them. as Vela said, Voyager's Golden Record is like "a bottle thrown to the sea," a huge expanse of ocean with currents going this way and that, letting it wander aimlessly through time and space with the very feeble hope the message will reach another and know of humanity's presence, even if we may never know they've received it..
"This is a present from a small, distant world, a token of our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours."
–Jimmy Carter on *Voyager 1'*s Golden Record
perhaps the Vault was inspired by a similar thought – a record of all the knowledge of the ancestors, a collection sampling everything the ancestors knew and were, not to preserve but to show off. the Vault held greater ambitions than any other archive, library, or museum before it because the generations that began it knew they would not be the around to see their intended audience touring their history, not even knowing for sure who would see.
only when the kingdom began to fall, with rampant darkness making the situation more dire and perhaps infighting among factions of people, did Night Elder and their scholars consider an alternative usage for the Vault. fearing the sun setting on the ancestors' era did they consider the Vault not just as a record of what they were but of their mistakes, the errors in their ways, the fault in their stars. the ancestors wanted to preserve the reality of who they were for the peoples that survived the crisis in hopes those future generations would not repeat their mistakes and bring ruination upon themselves too.
With this in mind, what if the starlight desert was a failed attempt at preserving living people.
Would explain the boats and the chained up ancestors
Considering how spirits work, I feel like they did a pretty good job at preserving living people, just not in the expected way
That could explain some stuff! Now I’m interested
Correct me if I’m wrong but only the ancestors are alive still correct? I’m just interested in how the sky kids got there, they are clearly our ancestors but how did we get from the Stars was it another rebirth of those sprits before us and now we are like their reincarnations?
I have a suspicion that we’re not directly related to the Ancestors, since we outnumber them significantly.
I believe that we came directly from Megabird (The Light), with a little help from the Elders.
Ahh makes sense
the ancestors are unfortunately no longer alive :( how we currently got here is unknown but probably what baudshaw said
HowEver, it’s important to note that there were almost definitely more ancestors than the ones we see, so us outnumbering them might not be valid as a form of evidence
I still want some kind of official answer to "what the heck are the missing stars in the Elder/realm constellations?"
I still believe they're probably ancestors that are no longer there for one reason or another
ME TOO why are they empty
It's been bothering me for so long I NEED an answer
I like to headcanon (with no evidence oop) that we are the children of the ancestors. After all the ancestors were killed by the explosion, Megabird wanted to give them some kind of second chance to fix their mistakes. The children were blessed by Megabird and the parents were sent back to guide their children. Maybe the ancestors had lost their chance, but they could still guide their children towards redemption
me
I would normally say that theyre just empty spaces in case more spirits get added, but prophecy proved that if tgc wanted to add more spirit memory based lore to the game, they’d jsut retcon old memories instead of make new ones. Also, there are even empty ones in season of performance, so who even knows
My theory is that that was their original plan but then they just
didn't
And now they're just there for decoration probably
Maybe trying to add more spirits to the base constellations caused issues with Elder completion? That's my guess
I have a theory about the starlight desert that might be a bit crazy, but I’m saying it anyways.
The starlight desert’s stars are fake. Hear me out and listen to this.
The season of the little prince brought us the star projector, a prop that creates fake stars. It also had a little cloud cave/nook that filled up with stars, and had the moon lined up perfectly with a hole from above. This room was used as an early test demo for the starlight desert preservation project. Its got possibly fake islands with fake light shining on them from a fake moon with fake stars that appear then leave.
Now a while ago, as I was just staring around the starlight desert, I noticed something. All around eden in the distance appeared to be a cloud shaped shadow. But this shadow spanned all across the starlight desert’s sky. Then I noticed that the stars were quite low to the ground, which is unusual as the home space stars aren’t like that.
Then it hit me, the stars are projections. The entirety of the starlight desert is inside a cloud room not unlike the smaller cloud nook we see in the area.
And it makes sense, you wouldn’t want any dark creatures making their way into your preservation project and murdering all your employees and willing preservation participants. They had to seal it off, but also create the illusion of being outside so the participants wouldn’t go insane. So they used purple light and created a massive star projector. And then failed 200%.
Prophecy: the Forgotten Elements
New trials coming 2023.
WAIT DO YOU THINK ONE OF RHE HIDDEN STARS IS THE GUIDE also I’m crying ar how wonky Diamond is
IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!!!!
Then how did that one krill get in there
The diamond was drawn by the guide when they were 5
They were trying their best
That's a good theory but, as Hyd pointed out, the krill
I’m not 100% certain but I believe they left a hole to eden. The krill might also just not be real. An effect of the purple light based star projector: it makes people go crazy.
Maybe they sealed it away in that sandstorm area just to keep it away from anyone else? Idk?
From a game design/season perspective it makes sense because the prince has to get beaned. But I don’t know why story-wise
Skykids in lorechat to devs
Thats also people who are confused about certain aspects of sky and creative decisions the devs make for the game as they don’t know any of the lore and probably don’t realize there is any lore./j
funfact ingame the stars are assets you can stand on if you get high enough
BABY SKY KIDS!!!!!!!
First of all- HOW
Ooohh Right tables!
Rocket! If you and another person offer piggyback to eachother and press accept at the same time, you shoot up!
A day or two ago, I noticed that sparkeler parent has a lantern. I turned my camera to get a closer look at it and found out that it has a light orb in there. I mean its not that big a surprise now since we see an ancestor collect light into a lamp in the switch trailer. But it is a really neat detail.
This pic goes so hard
Second of all, wouldn’t it have been easier to just put a picture instead of while models??? ( I don’t know about game stuff but I’m pretty sure that models take more space)
OHH i forgot about that too! Thanks Slink
Yes, but maybe since the stars are interactable you need an object for it? Not sure but that’s my guess
Yes, images would've been way easier
Same for the Edens you see in the background of realms, there was no reason from them to be 3D models
Same for a lot of the clouds surrounding the realms, there was no reason
How does this game run on phones I’m so curious
It doesn't
It has terrible performance unless you have like, a REALLY strong phone
Really??? I didn’t know (wait that sounded sarcastic it wasn’t sarcastic)
No seriously I have a pretty decent phone and the game has bad performance
It has a reputation for not running that well
It’s ok on my iPhone 12
I’ve got an 8+ with little space, solid 60 frame rate despite my 10k images and apps that take a lot of space
I think switch might have better quality because it’s a game console and it’s meant to run bigger 3D games, but still
Yes, but if I’m correct its easier to get a model to glow than a decal. That and/or a model just looks nicer up close compared to an image.
I don't know about iPhones please translate that into computer specs
Yes but a player is not supposed to get that close to begin with, aside from when you’re actually in Eye of Eden and going to the mountain itself
Be sure to keep your phone cool. It can have bad performance if its overheating
Uh, iPhone 12 is relatively recent it’s like the 3rd newest iirc
When I got this phone the 13 just came out
It doesn't overheat, the game just has bad performance from the first second I open it
I mean, it kinda runs well depending on the area but the majority of them run at sub-30 FPS
but the stars in starlight desert need to provide a specific effect. Something more magical compared to the stars in home space. And for that it would be required for each star to be a separate entity, and be closer to the player, as well as each star needing to be in specific positions too.
I play on low power mode sometime, to remind me of my mortality
Be sure to be on low/middle visual quality cause that helps me
Already using that
Doesn't help too much tbh
I can play on a higher mode for only so long before it begins over heating. Thats why I play on the lowest mode. That and I also need my phone to last while I’m not at home.
I forgot to mention, my phone’s home button doesn’t work so I had to put one in on my screen manually
Then maybe check your storage, how many things you have on in the background, or if you have too many apps.
And if that doesn’t work. Then try restarting it.
That’ll be $999.99/j
i’m sure someone has pointed this out before, but the story about the silent child in the second season of performance quest seems to be about why we have winged light! i like to think the child was resh
Sanctuary Guide has the elder symbol on their instrument with what appears to be either a star symbol or a youngelder symbol all around it.
8, ITS 8 EXACTLY!!!!! POSSIBLE ELDER REFERENCE!!!!!
Perhaps the greater elder symbol stands for dawn elder, and the lesser slder symbols stand for the other 7 original elders. All united and under isle elders reign before the king showed up, 3 of the elders died, and only 2 of the dead elders were replaced.
What if sancqg used to be an elder and then fell from grace/retired
Maybe they’re a lot older than they seem to be
I don’t think thats how it works. They’re reffered to as an ancestor spirit and not an elder. And I don’t think elders and ancestors were exactly the same. I’ve also theorized that the missing 8th elder probably drowned from the floods. You see, there were concepts of an underwater, flooded temple.
- Ah ok ok

- There’s a missing 8th elder??
Yes, so there is this symbol called an elder symbol. And in the chance that we can find them representing all the elders in a group(for example edens door)there is a clear mussing 8th symbol.
Also, in the early version of orbit, all the elder statues were there, including an eighth broken/destroyed statue.
Ok, then what does this mysterious “elder symbol” look like?
Its even on the elder hairs.
Oki oki good to know thank very
Yeti was a mage warrior shaman barbarrian./j
Hello lore chat! What’s happening?
A little while ago I noticed that darkness plants produce a bit of light on the ground.(probably should have noticed sooner)I think this shows that they consume light.
This also makes sense considering that Tearful Light Miner’s memory has someone getting absorbed by the plants
And when they’re burned they release some of the light it had
There is only one set of invincible darkness plants. And that set is in the storage unit of the prairie caves.
Wait, what if-
I have to go check something.
Oh my jar!!! Darkness plants might be corrupted weeds!!!
I’m gonna go do other things now. I need to get productive things done.
BYYYYEEEEE!!!!!
Yeah I’ve tried to burn those on multiple occasions but keep forgetting that they aren’t burn-able 😅
I have a big long theory on darkness plants that I’d have to retype. Basically, my take on them is that they’re obviously parasites like what Esther said, but more importantly that what they parasitize on is the light of dead people or animals. So wherever they grow… there were corpses there at some point.
Since light in Sky might be connected to personality/memories/ etc, this means that anything digested bu the darkness plants, including what would have ofherwise been spirits is irrecoverable. The light they release when burned are the remnants of people
Lore chat, what are your thoughts on the symbol that ceasing commodore's hair has + the same symbol on the top of the daylight prairie's temple
they're mantas
That's it..? I thought there would be something more deeper than that xD
Hey Mantas are cool
what is interesting is that that very same symbol used to be on the Forest Elder temple refinery, which is thought to have been involved in the power diamond manufacturing process. only recently was that symbol changed to the diamond in a box
Ooh interesting
I can confirm this, totally assumed the implication there was that they used mantas for the refinery stuff but
maybe the devs wanted that implication solely on the Treasure Reef facility, since that change came with the Season of Abyss update
:]
YEAH THAT THING I had to check Forest temple twice after it got deleted to make sure I didn’t just ignore it by acidsnet
acidsnet
when your net is made of acids
Hello! What’s going on lore chat
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
the manta symbol used to be on the Forest Elder temple refinery but was switched out in the Season of Abyss update
HATE when that happens
Oooh, if you’re right I wonder what that would mean abt the other ones. I wonder if the forest refinery even USED mantas or if they had a more sustainable method
Remember how there’s darkstone in isle and prairie and I thought that those two realms had a more sustainable or not murderous way of producing it?
been thinking on that. consider that in the ancestors' era, they didn't want it to be obvious of the animal cruelty. having a manta symbol on the refinery basically screams "we grind mantas here" and if that was an abhorrent truth, best to keep that on the downlow
“Hey, forest elder, why is there a manta symbol here?”
[forest elder kicks manta sumbol under bed] Dont worry about it.
Wait…
So Forest, specifically the bridges area before the temple, has multiple areas where mantas are trapped in dark plants.
Do you think the ancestors learned from the dark plants that they could use mantas like that?
OOHHHH MAUBE
there is a sort of cage where mantas are held which releases them after the Forest Elder's cutscene
While I’m on this topic, the Forest temple is one of the only places to hold a huge dark tree… there’s gotta be a well of power under there that it draws from
The other places are in wasteland and in places like battlefield that makes sense
if darkness plants grow from sources of light energy, then something big with a lot of light energy used to be there
There are whale bones in the bridge room too, so maybe…
Whales were used.
the whales
Poor wes
hence why there are only three whales in-game. there's prob more but not a lot
I can totally see whales being used in wasteland, but in forest — if s whale died with its bones like right next to the temple, and whales got used? wouldn’t they move the body in there to use it?
Ok but what if the whale in the Underground moved down there to protect itself from being hunted? Or maybe one of its ancestors did
Now that the Underground is connected to Wind Paths too, the light creatures have pretty good range
ok but question. whales are the wasteland elders light creatures and probably deeply connected to them, like how butterflies are to prairie elder. so what would’ve made wasteland use whales?
personally I think that speciifc whale at the temple in boneyard died somehow else given the jagged trees nearby and that it crashed in a building. bones signify unnatural death. it could've been hunted but it also could've been afflicted with something that wouldn't have existed without the ancestors messing around, as though poisoned or starving
Also are jellies the favored light creature of anyone? I might say Forest because of the hair

jellies are also only found in forest and sanc islands, I think you’re right on that one!
it is noteworthy that the area outside the Forest Elder's temple is called "boneyard." unlike graveyard in the Wasteland, there aren't a lot of bones there. is one skeleton shoved in the corner enough to get that name? or were there once more, just bones dumped there while the light flesh was moved into the refinery? where are those bones now?
my elder-creature associations are
: bird
: butterfly
: jellyfish
: bird (again)
: manta
: whale
: spirit manta
the reason i gave the valley twins two different light creatures is bc if you do it that way, the elder creatures are in the same order as the creatures you encounter during the ascension to eden (excluding isle and vault creatures bc they get left out of everything)
maybe thats what dismayed hunter killed ?
oh wait what if the king was associated with birds just like the isle elder. look at the shape that lights up above the isle temple door. and that’s the order too
Also birds are kinda diamond shaped
ascension order is butterflies - jellies - birds- mantas - whale
tbf we do see mantas go through the castle door while still in butterfly zone
just a question but why is the golden wasteland like that? is there any theories as to what turned it into a wasteland?
In general the consensus is that it used to be a factory for power diamonds, but somehow it became a battlefield too and it was left as such when the fall happened. Maybe they were defending the diamonds, or the Vault. The dark water is mostly thought to be sewage or remnants from the factories, some even think it’s oil. Krills are corrupted light creatures, not sure which ones though
It could have also been a center for trade considering the large ships that have wrecked there
Hopefully the Sky animated series will go into the history of wasteland?
OOO!! THATS REALLY INTERESTING! also theres a sky animated series????
There’s supposed to be one coming out, it was announced at some convention this year
Hmmmm…
- Assiciated with birds
- Might be bird
- Associated with yellow things (cheese or WL)
- really mean to everyone (Me)
- Attack and Hurt me
Hmm….. hmmm?…. hmmm… @rigid mural
here's the teaser! https://youtu.be/KevTXLvpmVI
That's what you get, you lawless creature.
honestly? I love this take, even if it's not canon, and it's going into my personal headcanon box lmao
It appears there is a deactivated or possibly even dead gravity manipulation disc behind the wasteland elder’s statue. Now the question that needs to be answered here is, what did it hold/display?
thats how they got up on the cliff they jumped off of /j
If someone gave cannoneer a bath do you think cannoneer would just simply evaporate
Ask flight guide, they’d know
Become dust
ayo why is there a little performance guide by my name what’d I do—
You've been chosen
I’m afraid—
I’m not ready to be a theatre kid-
It's too late to back out. The show must go on
Uh- uh- LINE??
they’re watching
Well this certainly gives us blatant answers to what some things are.
Hey why has the performance crew seen eden?? Especially close enough to know what those things are?
Or did they see it from valley or something and go “yep, draw that”
I honestly don’t know how they painted any of the scenes seeing as they only recently were revealed from the clearing clouds.
Which one wandered around sky to paint all the backgrounds correctly I wonder
My guess is that performance guide’s twin, rhythm guide, telepathically delivered the scenes to performance guide. I’m sure its just a twin thing.
Rhythm guide after a skid helped them get to orbit: ”you’re not gonna believe this place”
well the stagehand painted them, so maybe they asked some skykids?
The scenes were already painted once we got there.
paint
This is my favorite headcanon, I really love the idea of them painting the backgrounds with a skykid
Oooh it was stagehand who painted them all. What are their sources?? Did they wander around the realms or have people telling them about it??
Well obviously Performance Guide had to draw a rough sketch of the scene for frantic stage hand to paint. Performance guide literally can’t paint. They always end up glued to the ceiling some how.
That or everything but what was supposed to be painted is painted
Y’know what, now that I think about it, I did see both rhythm guide and Patchy(is that their name? Jar, I’m terrible with names)over in the cozy theater when I had first arrived.
Or was that for flight? WAIT! I remember hearing something about Frantic Stagehand having achieved enlightenment and being a master of past, present, and future. Apparantly they can see everything, and can even look through space and time.
maybe skykids made that backdrop? or told Stagehand what Eden looked like? or Stagehand got the idea to paint a hellscape Eden from hearing the skykids' stories about it.
Or maybe stagehand has really good eye sight and could see everysingle detail of eden from valley.
Maybe the storm didn’t even happen yet, stagehand made eden look like that to have a spooky background, got chewed out for having an inaccurate background…
and decided to make it acccurate
Stagehand is the lord of thhe darkness. They, and they alone, corrupted the king and the mighty diamond of Eden!!!
We’ve cracked the code lore chat!!
Well….
I’ve never noticed this before. And its only in this one spot.
How peculiar….
Ooh, where is that?
Wasteland temple. Door to vault, not forest Elders room, its a common mistake.
I’ve always found it interesting that you can’t back out of wasteland and vaults temples once you’re inside
Maybe Fire Prophet told Stagehand about what Eden was gonna be like. Like prophet is the third uncle twice removed
they’re both chonky, so…
Its like that for forest temple too.
the mistake you made here is trying to justify them being related with physical similarities, not realizing that (at least spiritually) fire prophet is EVERYONES uncle
Stagehand is secretly a member of the prophecy spirits.
No wonder they’re frantic lol
That’s just cause the forest elder doesn’t want the moths falling down the stairs outside the door to a VERY big drop
Seven sets of doors. A temple for one elder. Eight elders once lived simultaneausly. These are the docks for those Elders, a sort of short cut into the trading capital. The current Valley Elders never got to experience this as they weren’t born yet. Their future role was occupied by the original Valley Elders.
One day stagehand will do the same spinny spinny fire prophet did as the TS and reveal themselves as… fire prophet. All along.
I always viewed the battle ground in wasteland as the place an actual kingdom was. It just looked like a ruined and buried castle. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a kingdom there and the elders were a single coherent govern over the realms
Well todays your lucky day!!!
It appears to have been a trading capital. We also know that it was once called the Golden Valley and was a place for rich people.
Do you mind if I share a character concept with you all? One that I made I mean.
So I found what appear to be Valley Elder pucks all strewn accross the area in front of wasteland elder’s temple gates.
Well to me the GW temple interior looks like a weird little gladiator area. That could be just me though
I’d imagine stagehand looking at the prophet requirements:
Have some sort of elemental power
Be tall
Be hot
And then have them realize they fulfill none of those
They have the elemental power of stress/j
Its all actually covered in sand. From what I’ve seen it originally was the raised platform with wasteland elder’s statue, and below would have been a beautiful pond of clear water.
I imagine they’d believe they were tall and hot, and that art is an elemental power.
Now I want to attempt to make an aesthetic drawing of pre-King wasteland temple.
Please do! It would be cool
Ima draw fire prophet and stage hand tomorrow!
is it just me, or does the mark on the chest of prairie and wasteland look like small winged lights?
Each elder has a diamond/star motif on their bodies.
Some are on their backs, some are on their fronts.
ohh, okay
what do you think they mean?
That there is something very important about Diamonds in Sky.
I…have had dreams about those doors
Wait, I have a question, are we actually interacting with our ancestors or are we just reliving their memory? The fact that they cook just made me confused
Are you talking about grandma's cooking?
I believe that guides like grandma stay in sky even after their seasons have passed. Even what we see are spirits but in a more existent form perhaps. Its hard to think about. Regarding the fact that gramma cooks may be that she's used to what she did back when her season was there in time and she may have cooked for the family. As a guide she now passes time making mochi for us now. This is more of a child's wishful theory but perhaps some guides are so used to what they used to do and want to go back to it they end up like gramma or the sanctuary guide.
That would depend on who you ask.
Some folks theorise that the memories are just that, an echo of the spirit reliving the moment.
Others theorise that spirits are trapped in the memory and will keep reliving the moment until a skykid helps them out of the cycle and gain awareness of their surroundings.
There are other theories that go along these lines (that I know of), or are a combination of the above.
It is known that the ancestors did sleep, eat and drink when they were alive. So they were like human beings living out their mortal lives. The spirits can be described as ghosts of the ancestors that have not been able to pass on.
As for Grandma's cooking. The event is partly based on game mechanics and partly on the lore that was introduced in the Season of Belonging, the season where Granny was the season guide.
During the season, the skykids were tasked to gather the spirits of the season to join Grandma for a family dinner. That is how I interpret it, at least.
Since the season has passed and did not have any content to call back to it such as since the season of Enchantment. The devs have added an event for skykid to gain some wax, have fun with friends and enrich the game play with grandma hosting meals at certain times.
The skykids get to experience a part of what the season was like. Grandma is able to make an appearance in the game in a similar way as the other season guides are able to. And it adds another way to get wax while having fun with friends.
aw mochi ❤️
Adding that to the list of potential foods the grandma makes.
Bao Buns
Rice Cakes
Cake pops
Plump dumplings
Cotton candy
Lite Orbs (zero darkness)
Now it is if the other guides from the seasons of Gratitude, Rhythm and lightseekers would come back in some way in the future.
Either as an extension to a place their season has features (ex. rhythm with the valley coliseum), or a pop up event that pays homage to what the season was about way back when.
RESPECT FOR WRITING ALL OF THIS YOO
As a little prince moth, I haven’t played or know this season XD, thx for the information
Raiders typing skills are unmatched-
Aw shucks, the lore chat has fantastic writers and brilliant minds. I am just glad to read their work and add a bit of my own.

YES- thats it :D! Why have a lore doc if you could have a lore Raider

Prophets don’t have powers at all and are just the worlds best street magicians
…
Cave magicians I guess but none the less—
Fire prophet is to "Percy" ( performance guide ) as a shaman or witch doctor is to a stage magician.
Crab whisperer is the true magician:
“Abra cadabra”

Yes do it
Do you think mantas can smell fear?
What do you think they do with that information
Maybe try to eat the fearful sky kid-
Did you mean: prairie mantas
Not eat, but yeet
Wait how did I answer your message before you asked it??
Actually now that we think about it
Do mantas eat at all?
Where are their mouths-
They're mantas of light.
Do they need to eat at all?
Eating is basically a way for most living things to get energy to sustain themselves. Light mantas probably get their energy from light sources (like Sky Kids do) so I doubt they would need to eat and digest other stuff
Photosynthesis mantas
yes pretty much
Them thriving with photosynthesis might be a reason why there are so many light creatures in Sanctuary. The sky in that place is clear and perhaps the light reflected by the water helps the light creatures in fully immersing themselves in sunlight
Hey there lore chat
I'm explaining sky lore to people in cozy, and I need to know something- how were dark plants created? Same thing with dark creatures
Dark plants are theorised to be feeding off darkness/negative energy.
They seem to thrive in areas where a traumatic event took place (see light miner, fainting warrior), or in dark spaces such as caves.
This is not always the case such as the bell towers in Day, although the bell towers (also known as stupas) are seemingly corrupted.
Dark plants seem to have appeared after the ancestors died, as there as not been any case where an ancestor/spirit has acknowledge them in a memory or event.
Take note, while season of flight may have darkness in the final cutscene. I am conflicted with the buggy nature of the plants disappearing when approached, yet they are seen to be growing on the rocks and trapping light creatures.
What about dark creatures? How did they come to be? I've seen a lot of people theorize that they're just corrupted light creatures, but are there any other theories?
Oh wait those are stupas????
Why did it take me so long to realize I put dark instead of light 💀
I missed most of it but was there for the stuff about the fallen king business, and it's fair interesting
Dark creatures are confirmed corrupted light creatures
Source: trust me bro
In all seriousness- where did you get that from? Did a dev say it?
The logic of dark plants appearing where Ancestors died doesn't make much sense especially in used-to-be-dense areas like the Village of Dreams
Edit: Though their bodies could have acted as fertilizer which might be why some dark plants grow around areas where Ancestors died (i.e the gravestones in the mine in Hidden Forest)
For me, I believe darkness isn't necessarily the plant itself but more like a form of dust. When Eden collapsed, it might've had some sort of "dust leak" from the light factories which then were brought to the Hidden Forest through rain. That could explain why Forest is full of dark plants while Valley of Triumph, though being located nearer to Eden, barely has any darkness
I’m like dead tired and sleep deprived rn but Jenova Chen, founded of TGC, said as much
Actually the tearful light miner memory involves them directly, so they seem to have been around with the ancestors, perhaps in later times when corruption got bad. A theory of Salem’s is that they grow where there was a death.
Hidden Forest littered with dead things
Here are messages from Reika and Seraph when talking about the bells in Daylight Praire: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
The name stupa may suggest that it is either based on a stupa (as in it is Sky's version of the structure), or inspired by them (they are not necessarily a stupa, but similar to one).
Darkness plants seem to grow off of sources of light energy — the bells in Prairie village, light creatures
Huh, perhaps that's why many darkness plants appear under roofed areas. They could be ancestors or light creatures that sought refuge before succumbing to death
I’m still not sure that that explains Valley. What better source of light than the sun?
dark plants appearing around spirits is an odd edge case. I am not dismissing it, though find it difficult to determine whether it was part of the memory, or there to imply the presence of darkness.
The memory of the piggyback lightseeker in Dawn has a similar case with a spirit appearing with dark plants growing off them.
Dark beings seems to avoid direct sunlight for some reason. Consider that darkness plants as well as dark creatures like krill and crabs are usually in caves, in shade, in realms of thick cloud cover, or indoors.
There appears to be a difference between neutral light (sunlight) and magic light energy (as within light creatures, spirits, and skykids or the floating orbs of light). The latter can be used and consumed. What of sunlight then?
I can definitely see the inspiration for prairies temple! The top structure in particular reminds me a little bit of the Borobudur temple in Indonesia
Weren't the bells inspired by tibetan prayer wheels too ?
Actually this is so… i can really see the inspiration!
pics of stupas for clarification's sake
Practitioners also have a meditation ritual of walking around the stupa... When we burn the dark plants off of the stupa we also go in a circle around it... At least I do lol
It’s certainly up for interpretation. I like to think that the darkness consumes them, but that’s merely one somewhat dark interpretation and I’m not claiming it’s lore :)
considering that we gain light by melting darkness plants, darkness as a force seems to only consume and hold onto light, preserving light energy. the leviathan also seemed to hold onto light, the creatures within it preserved. it's a wonder what krill do with the light they consume
Or maybe they can’t actually consume it, even though they want to. Maybe they can only futilely knock it out of us?
Just found this image for the Belonging grandma. Do with it what you willl
You can even see flags on the prairie temple !
Grand got us full.
Granny better not Hansel and Gretel skykids into that fire place XD
i sit in the pit for fun
That or a bit like the dreidel
Aren't dreidels like prayer beyblades ?
first time looking at lore chat and being greeted by this
Legendary
Ah I see lorechat is up to their typical shenaninganery
we four all came into something amazing
WAIT A MINUTE I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING
since Moses' ability to part the red sea was one of the powers provided to him by God through his staff according to Bible cannon
And in Beyblades Moses used a beyblade to part the red sea instead of a staff
this must mean that beyblades are a gift from God
the point I'm trying to make is that I think the storm in Eden is being caused by a beyblade
In a casual conversation yeah.
The item is used in a game where the 4 sides have letter and are as follows:
nisht נישט ("nothing")
gimel for גאַנץ (gants, "entire, whole")
hei for האַלב (halb, "half")
shin for שטעלן אַרײַן (shtel arayn, "put in").
careful, it was not Moses himself, but God parting the water at his signal.
The dreidel was inspired by the game in Germany known as a teetotum
Ah, sorry about that!
Moses in beyblades must have then simply used the beyblade to signal God to part the red sea then
Today in lorechat: Moses parted the Red Sea with a beyblade
my concept for how darkness works with spirit memories specificalky is that the darkness attaches to and absorbs the memory’s projected fragments. That would also imply that the fragments exist somewhere we can’t see them before we relive them, which is really interesting.
You can see the most obvious example of this in slumbering shipwrights memoru, although it’s also in the one you mentioned.,
Been wondering how spirit memories form. For a while I’ve been going off the thought that they are the Sky world’s memories of the ancestors, which is still viable. Spirit memories are the imprints of the ancestors much like winged light are the imprints of skykids.
Another thought that’s come to me recently is that spirit memories are shed from wandering spirits as they lose light, perhaps not to darkness but ambiently by existing as pure light beings without a protective tangible shell — as their living bodies once were. They are called “lost lights” in game. Darkness then could attach to these lost lights, grow, and flower — their blossoms distorting the memory.
I mean, it IS canon lore, just not Sky lore
ooooooooooo… would the shed spirit memories be of the moment when they were shed, or b4? I’m guessing the second, right?
given that these memories correlate with what the ancestor was doing when they were alive in so-and-so place, I think they're shed when their spirit passes by these places, recalling what they were doing there, unintentionally shedding their light that contain those memories. so they're already dead when these memories shed.
THAT MAKES SENSE I don’t have great words rn sorry but I love that explanation
Words will never not never not be hard.
hello I hear Nod
I’m a real chef: look at the world salads I’ve made!
WHERE I want to talk btot them
lorechat, quick question: which valley twin was blue, which red? or was it red and blue? idek anymore.

Since no one has mentioned it yet, to continue in the dreidel convo, I'd like to add that most dreidels u can buy online have four letters, nun, gimmel, hey, and shin. Each are an initial for the phrase "nes gadol haya sham", meaning "a great miracle happened there"
They are used as a game during the festival of Hanukkah, and the phrase on the dreidel refers to how the oil in the temple lamp stayed lit for 8 days even though they only had enough oil to make it burn for one day
Also an interesting thought... Do we know if our ancestors had holidays? What would they be? If I find out I wanna celebrate them too to keep our traditions alive
I do think the Days Of events are basically spirit holidays
I was sort of ready to overlook that since for game play purposes they match up with earth's holidays, but I guess that makes sense
I was more wondering if they had any holidays original to their society, but the evidence for that is slim
Going by the tally of the realm, that is anyone's guess.
That and the twins would occasionally switch places, though the spiky haired twin (kakashi Sam) is usually on the left, and the rounded haired twin (dora Mekh) would be on the right.
Even still: the event-specific spirits fit the days of events so well that i can’t help but think they’re canon
I assume that lunar new year must one of their holidays, as the floaty-dragon Boi must have been built by someone!
Besides that I like to think that they must have had a holiday to celebrate the King's crown-ing and a annual week-long period that was originally ment for people to complete a pilgrimage to Eden but later just became a week of celebration as devotion to the megabird/the cycle of reincarnation faded
I don't have much evidence for this but I like the idea alot
I think every culture has some unique holidays. I had a list of ideas for Sky holidays somewhere~
It is not the only stone creature that could exist in Sky.
I do hope the devs would be able to include them more into the game.
Would Sky have a harvest holiday?
What would they harvest lol.... Light maybe
crops
Days of Mischief and Days of Feast kind of fits that
They must have had a holiday to celebrate the Light
hmm, true true
some sorta harvest festival feels like a prairie tjing since it’s like
a farming sorta area according to the elder pin n stuff
When I made my candy theory here ( #lore-discussion-spoilers message ), I imagined that being a holiday. Everyone comes to gather around for a Candy Festival to harvest what they need and refine the candy
I think they do canonically celebrate Bloom now, which I picture kind of panning out like May Day? Even though the dates don’t line up
They probably have some kind of Olympics competition annually in Valley
I think of Forest having a holiday, maybe in summer, that’s sort of a community barn raising vibe—everyone teams up to take advantage of the warm weather and build together/get ready for winter
In my opinion, all days of events are canon minus Days of Sky
True. I do feel like they really made an effort to show us that the spirits actively celebrate Bloom, though. Same with Fortune. Those seem… idk, like bigger holidays?
daily orb
also hi I have a big big headcanon for Fortune
Say it
SHOW I loved days of fortune i don’t think it was talked about enough, Also thanks for the orb ham I will use it for evil
Pondering this orb rn
It's name is Solomon smh smh
[Eats your orb]
Solorbman
are we going to give all of the realm orbs names now.? If so I think we should name vault orb Stinky
I’m naming the orb I bought from that one enchantment spirit uhhhhh shiny
Nurdle
I stole an orb from the forgotten ark. I’m gonna call it Smurgy
It keeps setting things on fire, I’m not sure how to fix it. I think it’s just misunderstood or something.
Awww the one from daylight prairie should be finch or Aponi (meaning butterfly)
You better take good care of it.
ok hello uh infodump time
so basically the Fortune dragon is a show prop for the Gratitude troupe
it's both something they carry and can also ride as a piece of their routine - maybe they're seen riding through whatever potential flying boat sky roads on top of it with normal transport boats aside
as for the music? Twirling Champion plays the panpipes in it. probably commissioned or volunteered to play in it
as we see in their memory they know Leap - and Performance has expanded on this; they seem to be in a band
the bells in it are played by Leap and Shaman respectively. gotta love the dragon music as we get to hear actual spirit dance/festival music
unsure how it could be playing, but power diamond tech is wacky so we could definitely have some recorder/music player of sorts from it
though they are a travelling troupe it seems so could easily have come from elsewhere
hello did you want this
the Fortune dragon sparked a lot of imagination on my end I admit
not necessarily spirit music but music from wherever the Gratitude troupe come from
uh. music sheets. oh no brain is
Sheet 13 is music from where Enchantment crew came from
eyo, apologies for the side track. I was looking through Season of gratitude's final scene and the ingame season page and noticed the sassy drifter (weasel mask that is found in Isle of Dawn) is missing.
Did the devs forgot to add them in the promotional art and end scene?
Or was there a different reason?
Hi @pastel brook
OH I LOVE THIS IDEA IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. Imagining them riding around on it like how the rhythm troupe rides around on their bird, and the band idea is really cute,
As for the music sheet being similar, my headcanon is that gratitude and ench came from the same place (isle) I have lots of evidence for the second one, but admittedly, gratitudes is just based on vibes.
ty for writing it out and pinging me!!
YEAH THAT’S BASICALLY THE IDEA
dragon vs big bird. the battle of the ages between the performers
I have to side with gratitude here, that dragon is too cool to pass up.
I don’t think gratitude & rhythm are the same type of performers if that makes sense? like the first one is hired mostly for celebrations and ceremonies while the second is almost like. a circus
Gratitude would be allowed in the wind paths while rhythm would be banned from it.
hm? how so?
I don’t know. I feel like juggler would have done something bad
juggler has definitely done something bad
look at them. the tiny little clown
walking into an ominous long cave. they are definitely not innocent. radiates sheer unbridled chaos
the kind you don't see on the surface but gradually reveals itself the more you talk
they snuck into one of the tunnels on the main island that shoot you out with a massive gust of air when you reach the end and almost died
in their life?
can spirits die twice
rhythm had a bird theme going strong, and flight had a similar one. Even if the flight season seemingly took a hard left towards mantas near the end.
I should draw my absurd spirit relationship charts
it's a mess
Maybe he is shy and wanted to practice his tricks in private.
flight and rhythm have the same base (bird) but opposite energy I don’t know how to explain it, I don’t know what the two sides of the spectrum are called
that would make sense! though I don't really
@keen shore big showy birds vs smol wild kinds?
"domestic wild" is an oxymoron oops
Full story: rhythm was performing in wind paths one day. juggler snuck into tunnel not knowing about the wind gusts and shot out of one really quickly mid performance and almost died. whacked into flight guide on the way out and was barely saved by manta. while recovering rhey said they wanted to do it again. now the rhythm troupe is banned from the wind paths
kind of 🔥 BIRDS 🔥 vs ✨ birds ✨
YEAHH this makes sense!!! Domestic pigeon vs wild pigeon
Then there’s the “Birds aren’t real” folk
I thought about it for a bit and that would be abyss I think
Prince as well, since they’re the furthest from any birds
beckoning ruler though
they’re the one making the birds
inside their crown is a minecraft style mob spawner
in my completely absurd headcanons for the season the LP spirits are sorta regular spirits but amalgamated with random thoughts given form; who's to say someone hadn't imagined the sort and that latched onto Ruler
the fact that this is legitimately plausible
new headcanon
“A company shill paid by the Isle Elder sent to uproot our values!”
I need to actually sort out my LP headcanons into something
they are so disjointed
I've come to look at funni picturs. where are they. where are my funni concept art lore pictures. i want. to see the stone whale. and the funky murals. show me them. i will analyze them. i will hyperfixate on the sky lore if it means i get to look at funni pictures all day.
Hello! I'm cooking up a theory but I think it'd be good to have a few more eyes for confirmation
Has anyone ever seen jellyfish and butterflies in the wind paths?
I think you only see mantas and birds here :(
yeha unfortunately vela is correct, but, I am extremely confused on the usage of here
I need a chart of all the relationships ITS ALL ONE BIG BAND WAR
like a Disney channel movie
This branches out into a few theories, but the one I'm focusing on is the wind paths are used to help animals that migrate travel safer than to go through hidden forest
If rhythm is like the sky equivalent of one direction, what would the leap-twirl-cheering spectator-msybe mellow musician band be??
Some sort of garage band?
I agree with them being like a hobby/not super famous band but. the idea of them being equally famous and having a rivalry with rhythm is killing me
kinda just doing it for fun and than them wanting to win against rhythm
It's really funny because this makes Twirling Champion the lightseeker with the most development; the guy is a lightseeker, an ice skater (or dancer/racer) and now a musician ? Truly a champion.
I bet you could look up the definition of king and there's nothing but his picture in there.
Anyway I like to think that since Performance Guide eventually got Mellow Musician to join the troupe, then the band likely had enough room for its members to have other hobbies and a life outside music, so perhaps an indie band ? Still very niche, but I bet they got to meet a few fans !
As an aside, I now like to think Cheerful Spectator was watching a race in which Twirling Champion was competing, and cheering on their friend !
I DIDNT REALIZS THAT ABOUT TWIRLING CHAMPION BUT YOURE RIGHT THATS SO FUNNY (unless. Conspiracy theory. Identical twin)
My headcanon for mellow musician and why I put them as a “maybe” is that they’re one of the band member’s younger siblings, who hangs out with the band sometimes and really admires them hence their guitar. I just think it would be reallu cute (and because in my brain they’re a fair bit younger than everyone else there, like… I don’t know. Late teens/early twenties??)
Twirling champion is that kid that in the yearbook put his nickname as "Im the King, you're looking for me-"
i didnt make this from a headcanon- there was a kid from my old yearbook who had this nickname
the only issue I am running into is whose younger sibling they would be because I have no idea, although my favorite guess currently is leaping dancer
I would be one of those fans
I always imagined Mellow Musician actually being the oldest in the theater troupe (though not by that much, maybe they are 25 in a group of 18-20yr olds), and being more at ease with their fellow musicians, that's interesting !
I don’t know if y’all have seen the musical Hadestown but In it the main actor uses a guitar and mellow musician reminds me of him in the theater
You're probably not gonna hand a job as risky as being a stagehand to someone super young tho so there's a way stagehand is around musician's age if not slightly older.
I don't really bother thinking about ages tbf though so...
I also agree with them beig the oldest, just based on vibes although I don’t know by how much. I keep wanting to base the performance spirits’ ages after typical college age but i doubt ancestor school worked the same, so it’s probably feasible that they would be a few years older :3c
As for the mention about stagehands age, you already know about my whole drama class take on it, I imagine the entire village theater as something more informal/like a training theater. So they’d be learning to perform in a larger one I guess
Also wait, am I misremembering or is leaping dancer the gratitude spirit who showed up in village during a spirit memory or was it someone else?? If so I might be correct her
Yeah, but the village theater is certainly bigger than what I got at school, so I like to think that it's something Performance Guide owns (through a parent ?) that they opened up for ancestors interested in performing, hence why only the director has a true bird-shaped mask and the other only are pointy, kinda midway between basic mask and bird mask !
@keen shore leaping dancer
shows up in Twirling Champion's memory, and talking to Cheerful Spectator in Bearhug Hermit's memory !
Why do you guys think of the dancer? We talk a lot about the others and I just picture them being related to the forgotten storyteller or being besties
It's really a shame Modest Dancer doesn't have much going on yet, but given the flourish they do in Forgetful Storyteller's memory, I like to think they have a mischievous side despite the timidity !
They seem quite sweet. Similar vibes to Light Whisperer I think. I feel like they’re good at drawing.
OOOH THAT JS A REALLY CUTE IDEA. we can combine our ideas and say performance guide spinsored the theater being built or something
it’s just really sweet to me imagining the other spirits being their students
Also, I have never noticed that thing with the masks before you mentioned it, Finally I have proof for my headcanon
I have this whole headcanon about Rhythm being the twin that left home to pursue their path of being part of a traveling troupe, while Performance is the twin that stayed to take care of what their home town has (both are performers so I like to think it runs in the family).
Perhaps the theater is something the family owned !
New hand cannon thanks to a youtube comment, performance guide is the rhythm guides younger taller brother
they're confirmed twins, so if they one would be younger it wouldn't be by much
You know that rhythm guide would boast about being 2 minutes older or something
My day when I see you guy’s headcanons : 📈📈📈
how would y'all recommend to get started on this game's lore?
The wiki? any specific youtube videos? anything like this?
In pinned messages here in the lore channel there’s a bunch of docs!
what on earth did i walk in on
ah perfect, thank you!
Yeah of course! It’ll help you get the main idea and then we talk about a bunch here too
ya thats what I want :D
plus a lot of the lore is up to personal interpretation!! so there’s no right or wrong way to look at it :D
love that! I just like to know whats the communities' cannon first and then i diverge from it :P
ofc!! if you want i can summarize what i know, which isn’t a whole lot since i’m still a bit new
Welcome Arco!!
I prefer to read the pinned posts to check the raw info first, but thank you so much
no problem!!
the pinned posts is mostly concept art, ideas from the game's development that may or may not be canon and up to debate.
there are google docs others have compiled, such as the lore moth doc for those new to the lore. they're outdated but still useful if you want them
where can I find those??
Hey guys when I click on my pfp a bunch of things are written underneath? And everyone too? Where do they come from?
those are server roles
Is that a discord thing? I’m not really use to this app
yes it's a Discord thing
I have been diagnosed with “✨tall”
How do they know these things? It’s pretty cool!!
Wait I did??? Hold on
Thanks for explaining that to me Alasdair!
no prob. don't call me Alas.
Okay! Sorry about that
rhythm being one direction is a known fact, I even wrote a joke/meme fanfic about it
How long have the ancestors been dead? This boat has almost fully become one with nature
That’s up for debate, in my understanding 10,000-20,000 years.
My guess is somewhere between 50-100 years
I feel like it’s different dates depending on which realm you’re focusing on, but that’s a topic that’s neither here nor there
all we got is that "a long time has passed" since the ancestors died out. we don't know for sure how long that's been
Probably hella long
If you look at each realm individually, they’re ordered in time periods. Isle being the oldest and Eden being the youngest.
The oldest architecture traditionally is allways simpler because of not having enough technology, recourses, ect. The further a civilization progresses the more complex the architecture gets as they’re able to make those complex designs into reality.
And the spirits and what specific other spirits they line up with is funky too-
ah, yes, complex
Yes that is complex, if you’re analyzing the shapes, materials and how the overall structure works.
It’s hard to make things look like they’re hanging off with no supports like that
And not have them collapse under their own weight
I would not feel safe.
Another reason I wanna work at Nintendo- their HQs are block-shaped not this.
That’s funny
But you can clearly see the difference between older and newer architecture.
too often, people put down traditional older architecutre styles as "simple" or not "technologically advanced" when they are still fascinating feats of engineering with the level of technology that society had at the time. they were also, charastically speaking, complex, culturally significant, and unique. it's shocking to see it put down when such styles have inspired much of the game's worldbuilding.
on the other hand, modern architecture, despite all the potential offered by technology, tends to be visually bland or repulsive, emotionally void, and oftentimes cheap & dangerous. they are a reflection of the isolationist and brutalistic capitalism that's wrecked havoc on contemporary society and seldom artistic.
we were just talking about stupas earlier and wow those are beautiful. also a lot of them have domes which are impressive by any standards. do you know how difficult it is to make your dome stay up?
Domes 💛
It’s one of the hardest things to do. I’m not trying to put down the architecture of old at all, it’s simpler yes, but truly a great feat.
The switch trailer is shown “centuries” before the present, so it has to be a minimum of 200 years. My exact range is about 200-400 years. Ago
the Switch trailer said "centuries ago, before the stars fell," which while a lot of time to give us, still isn't exact
We will have to estimate (based on real life) how long it took for the world to crumble.
Centuries implies it's somewhere between 200 and 999 years so it narrows it down quite a bit compared to a vague "long ago"
I agree with you, it's gotta be around 200-400
wouldn’t “7036000002679200 centuries” still qualify into the tag “centuries ago”
10,000-20,000 years, if you’re talking from the start to end of this civilization. About 1,000 years for it to completely crumble.
No, that would stop being "centuries" and would instead be "millenniums" (I think...)
That's how language works, it doesn't fully make sense but it's how it works
the kingdom seemed to be flourishing to some extent. we don't have evidence of darkstone technology during the scenes in the Switch trailer, which there's still a lot of time for the kingdom to be suffer the effects of.
Yea ig from a literary pov it doesn’t make sense I was actually hesitant to make that comment bc of it
Remember the time period thing ?
Eden changes within given realms too, and it getting progressively more covered up by clouds is what the first intro of the game with the murals showed
These screens are the start and end of the sliding race btw.
My Latin nerd self feels the need to inform you that the plural is millennia 💙 /lh
I have feelings for you. /j

I hate words
Let's abolish language and resort to using emotes instead
Do you know now? The latins have occupied lorechat
By latin y'all mean like
Latin latin or like
LatAm
I always get confused
Roman Latin
Someone here mentioned that Eden has properties similar to a black hole.Since black holes distort how we view things, maybe it changes how we perceive Eden
Dead languages let’s goooo
Oh alright thanks for clearing that up
Salem mentioned there’s a high amount of similarities between Latin classes and lorechat
just like the ancestors' language
Like Castellano
Castellano is a dead language? Huh, I learn something new every day
It is, it’s an off branch of Spanish. It’s practically dead as only one country speaks it, but even then, most of the country only speaks Neutral Spanish.
basque probably will outlive us all
lmao "neutral Spanish." there's no neutral Spanish, there's so many flavors of Spanish you can't cleanse your palate.
also if one country still speaks the language, it's not a dead language.
Oh alright... I always thought Castellano was just how Latinos referred to Spain Spanish (I'm a Latino, that's how we use the word here most of the time at least)
How did the spirits we revive get turned to stone?
darkness petrified them
But when and how
we wish we knew
I’m also latino and that’s true, it’s also an offbranch
No one here knows anything.
This is like philosophy, there's no answers, only more questions
Neutral Spanish is a thing, if only 7% of the population of a country speaks it it is considered dead.
darkness, as a force, consumes and holds onto light. you lose light in dark water and when attacked by krill & crabs. darkness plants seem to grow off of sources of light energy and may be able to capture light creatures to leech off their light.
the petrification process for spirits may be similar as it is for skykids – darkness draws out their light, they slow down until they can't anymore, and perhaps lose consciousness.
light beings rely on light to function. without, they can't function. when darkness overwhelms them, they can't move, hence petrified.
okay
no language is neutral. people are biased to their own accents and dialects, not realizing it is an accent and a dialect in it of itself. they're just used to it. even if a group were to select which of a language is "official" or "correct," it is still biased to a sect some groups do not speak.
a language is considered dead when 0 speakers are alive. if only 7% of a small country speaks it, then it is an endangered language, not dead.
Alrighty.
Got on, saw two people tell me to draw the pre-king era wasteland temple, and now I shall force myself to succomb to peer-pressure./j
As for the real thoughts,
I wonder if ot would be somewhat possible to map out the sky kingdom based on how far away an area is from eden.
It is possible, and a challenge.
Ooooh?? Show??
Nice!
Woah Could you show us??
don't you have a doodle for how different Eden looks in different areas?
Lucil the Mistwalker is my OC btw
THAT’S SO COOL AND BEAUTIFUL
How far even is that tunnel to the village of dreams!
Roman method acting
Keep in mind I went ingame to map this, and had to fiddle with things a bit to make it work together. So it is probably different from what TGC would map !
I knew you’d show up to join my Latin shenanigans eventually
This is going to be haunting me forever
Sky kids often take naps on their way down
I headcanon that like with the wind paths, a good chunk of the way is cut out to not make you spend 10 minutes sliding through mountains (and cut the 3d artists some slack to keep the game lightweight).
That makes a lot of sense.
Who wants to see a sky:cotl void continent concept I have of the Bell Hermits of the White Null?
Yes please!!!!
an ingame map would be very helpful ngl, there wouldnt have to be anything marked off, but it would be useful if we could put the marks instead
Should I map hidden forest?
Bell Hermit!!!
A very decieving name, I know. They live inside voidian bells like a hermit crab. If you want to get a general concept of what they sound like, take a kalimba with a tremolo chain on it and shake it side to side upright.
They’re lethal, deadly lethal, forgot to mention that.
It looks nicer in the light, I just wasn’t able to use my flash as it reflected terribly of the lead.
This is far scarier than krills. Imagine them just grabbing you and doing the master hand crush
I have another void concept!
They remind me of starfishes! I love em!!
Couldn’t use the flash again. It’s unamed though, the Voidian people didn’t know what exactly to name it.
These reside within the outer void geographical region. Its pitch black there. Now, unlike the bell hermits, these are actually corrupted. Though the people of other continents don’t know how their behavior differs from before as, to their incorrect knowledge, everything in the void is deathly lethal.
And as of now, I am still working on other concepts. Something good about creating the inhabitants of the continent first is that they can help create the different geographical regions for you.
Where did you learn this definition of a dead language? I’m kind of confused where you got it. Dead languages are simply ones that have no native speakers. If they have even one native speaker, they’re not dead yet.
Fun Fact: The ancestors didn’t really like the voidian people as they blame them for the corruption. But they didn’t hate them, they were still accepted as equal, just a little bit of skeptical dislikeness.
But aproxamately 30 years after the first arrival of our sky kids, the new ancestors, currently dubbed decendants, absolutely hate them for the corruption.(and thats what I call a plot point.)
School.
I don’t have anything significant to add to this but you’re 100% correct. Am super tired of seeing technologically advanced (not as in engineering, as in resources) societies and cultures being seen as superior, it never ends well
I know for a fact that if I had to do any of the math or labor required to make the building you showed without any sort of calculator or tech tools to help me out, I would start crying and die,
While most things you learn in school are true. Sometimes a christopher columbus type situation or instead a mistake can occur
your school was wrong, or at least oversimplified concepts to the point they lost the details and nuance
That can happen, I learned it 12+ years ago.
Oh, that explains it. An unfortunate amount of misconceptions, myths, and straight up lies are taught in school. For instance, I got taught the “deoxygenated blood is blue” myth and the “we only use 10% of our brains” myth although neither are true. It’s really frustrating and happens an unfortunate amount
If there is ever a moment when wooly manta can’t help. I always have bell hermits……/j
Wait so blood actually isn't blue when deoxygenated? I feel hella stoopid now
You shouldn’t feel that way, your school should.
i know some people that dont even use their brain tbf
I didn't learn it at school, school didn't teach me sh-
oh……………
Yup, specially in older school days. Something that’s a straight up lie I was taught is that to be successful you need to study law or medicine. That if you do anything art related you’ll starve.
Also let's not even get into history class. That one really has a lotta lies
WHO SHALL I SEND BELL HERMITS AND SKY BOBBIT WORMS UPON!!!!!!!
Wait that is a lie???
Yup!
It’s always good to fact check “facts” like the dead language thing you mentioned. They can be really insidious and cause an unfortunate amount of misinformation
I sure feel like I only use 10%/j
That’s true, sometimes you’re so used to something being a “fact” that you forget to fact check it.
I can name about 36 ish bones in the body and that’s about it
(This message Wasn’t supposed to be a reply??)
I see.
"Where there are souls
We shall seek"
lightseeker psychopomps ?
opens Google Docs
yeeeees
Oh ! I do have headcanon some role of spirits could have been psychopomps or even that the king have this role too
needs to write more of DFT cough
WOO
A list of odd similarities between Latin class and lorechat:
- Unexpectedly disproportionate amount of gay and/or nd people
- Interest in extremely niche subject that most people do not understand
- Frustration with trying to understand a difficult and/or elusive subject that seems continually out of our grasp leads to fast forming bonds and many silly inside jokes
- Whenever someone asks us to translate or explain something, our brain shuts off. You can hear someone crying in the background.
- Gets off track easily talking about fun neat culture facts (and completely unrelated things)
- constant jokes (or are they really jokes…) about every character you discuss being gay
- doesn’t talk about spears as much as I’d like
That’s very true
((Sorry I don’t know what a DFT is all I’m getting on google it Discrete Fourier Transform))
Oh and also
- Continuous desire to eat random things out of frustration: translation sheets, Megabird, Julius Caesar,
- low level murderous intent of everyone within. several members have this intent concerningly high
Low?
I see, and that’s not true
it’s his fic ahdjakaka, :-)
It’s my fanfic called Dear Fellow Traveler, a backstory for the Abyss crew and an exploration post-Eden calamity Sky kingdom.
how is it not true?
OH!!! ( psst is it available to read rn or is it still a work in progress)
Some of us have a lot of murderous intent.
I find it to be 100% accurate
I said that in my message??
several members have this intent concerningly high
An excerpt from the first chapter
That is cool !! I love that !
All of you are wrong. We all have an extremely high amount of murderous intent. I for one would love to dump sand on the rose
Woo!!
I take it out on my characters
STOP HURTING THEM THEY HAVE SUFFERED ENOUGH
ok fair you’re probably right. I think it would be everyone has a high level of murderoud intent, although the level of control varies. vela takes theirs out by cheesing me. mine surfaces whenever I am given a table or pipe prop and close proximity to one of my friends ingame
Concerned, but same
✨Just Writing Things✨
After the Calamity will have a bit too much death and decay. Unfortunately most die before the story starts
I see, mine is exposed trough art.
I want to write something about sky but idk what yet
I mean, yea, everyone dies in the fic cos none of the ancestors are alive in the present game so
I have never met a non murderous writer now that I think about it. They all see an opportunity to torture their characters and their pupils dilate like a cat that sees a moving toy
Cave of Prophecy Coffee Shop AU. They debate whether to call it “Prophee Coffee” or “Prophe-Tea”
Every writer has at least one character who they torture out of either love or extreme disdain
just one??? you have like twenty
That is the most wholesome thing I’ve heard all day thank u
Prophecy coffee shop au??? What are the trials??
coffee blends
Why do you all have the text equivalent of professional improv from a Shakespearean era actor
Difference between love and disdain. ex: Amander and Helkipi
Water trial gets the water needed, earth trial provides the coffee grounds, air trial dries it, Fire trial roasts it
that’s how you pay for the coffee
JAHSHKSKJHKK
Kya do all 3
If you fail??? Do you just get banned forever??
Do they give me decaf instead
I shall!
The reason why prophecy guides mask has a halo over it is because that’s what they use to roast the coffee (I don’t know how you make coffee)
If it’s alright can I ask where you’re posting the fic? It sounds interesting.
No that’s just the bowl
My apple-grape fruit rolls have contained 2 rolls in one pack but 3 in the second one, should i open another to see what the average-roll-per-pack is?
It’ll be in AO3 but I don’t write chronically (I’m trying) so it’ll be a bit before it goes live
Are you gonna tell me or leave me hanging
i imagine the prophecy guide , the one serving the coffee
VERY exciting results , either I got two rolls that are stuck together or a very big singular one
That’s fine I can’t wait to read it when it gets posted!
that happened to me three times smh
Same! They’d be the head of the coffee house
Crab whisperer is catfishing with the other lightseekers photos
Unfavourable, as much as this mystery roll is impressive in its thickness, it was a horrible experience to chew
Should I write it in story format?
I have to wonder what the spectrum from love to disdain is for each of them.,
Is that a picture of Philza?
Yes
( i was too scared to ask I’m so glad this is settled )
Same
Good. Do it. Post it on AO3 and you will get billions of kudos. It will win best Sky fic of 2022. I NEED THIS. ILL EVEN MAKE IT CANON IN MY OWN STORIES
Honestly I wish we had more sky fics
Sameee I’ve found my people
GO FELLOW WRITERS!!!!
GO GO GO
that reminds me I need to do some plotting stuff
I plan on writing pretty much a fic of sky for a project and I might post it might not. I’m not sure since I want to include the lore crumbs we have
There’s a bit in AO3 but yes I agree. Fanfic.net is notably absent though
Aaaaa go for it everyone !!!

But even I don’t exactly know or understand the bits of lore we have. It can get confusing. I did find a document with a pretty decent summary of canon lore and speculations. But I still don’t know everything, especially all the areas in sky.
We can help you a lot! Do you have any specific questions in mind?
honestly angel we don’t know either
Love the different approaches to this
Yes ! Go for it and if you have question, don't hesitate !! You can create many stories and theories with thing you can see in game and here in the lore chat
Currently on my fourth pack, the truth is revealed to me, but at what cost? Now I’m stuck with the idea that I was missing a roll In my first package, having a terrible time
Oh I found a mature rated fic called ultra violence I need to read this
woe is zeph, and woe upon the gods’ cursed rolls….
How bad are the warnings on it?
None. The fic is in Chinese and contains “Alien gods that coexist with the world in the chaotic era of heaven and earth” jeez this is Sky turned up to 11
these rolls are a metaphor for something bu I’m not sure what
Man sorry I’m. Nnot feeling like myself ate to many rolls
Has this been noted already?
someone (maybe the King) was trying to raise Eden to above the skies? In the intro cinematic there is a city which has one piece that seems to be raising
Still, you were ||~**ON A ROLL **~||
Eden is a really weird place. Time distortions, time loops, and astronomical theories reign. I do think the Eden Diamond made some weird alterations to the castle that caused it to fly
Everyone please leave the chat momentarily, I want to talk with Baudshaw for a minute/j
There’s one left (of rolls)
leaves
MORE ON A ROLL JOKES! MORE!
i think neil cicirega is canon to the sky universe
doesn't elaborate any further
Based
Also I apologize- I’m not the best at writing this type of stuff more of like songs
no i can prove it
oh my god it’s a skykid and neil cicirega from lemon demon (REAL) (NOT FAKE) (LORE)
Thé Roll: ate
Neil Cicierega collabed with Vincent Diamante to write an opening number for the season of performance but it was scrapped despite being in beta 😔 /j
NOOOOOOOOOO WE COULD HAVE HAD CABINET MAN IN SKY REAL……
Tragedy
also i got distracted looking into neil cicirega’s eyes but this so funny omg
THATS WHAT CICREGA LOOKS LIKE??
Who even is he
he's Lemon Demon
He’s the lemon demon guy right?? Anyways, imagine if we pronounced the « e » in « lemon » as if it was the « e » in « demon » and vice versa
he’s half human and half machine
I was just listening to cabinet man ???
the chibi bashed in his face with a crowbar (ow)
Fun fact ! ! ! My messages don’t send if one of the letters have an accent on them?
wait why is Neil Cicrega in lorechat
touch tone telephone is about this channel specifically
Visited only occasionally by the maintenance man 😔
This cosmic manta in starlight desert can’t decide where to take me
But hey did you guys know there a cosmic manta in starlight desert
I would say that my main questions right now are about the elders. What exactly are they and why do we go to a different place during the cutscenes?
the rap in ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny is actually about the war neil cicirega told me himself
Ty!
It came from the rulers island direction. Just sorta flying around with me now—
oh I love that manta!! I think it just flies around the area
I also love this manta
The manta should be named
Mantas that you can ride and the tiny ones are the best bois
neil cicirega
Starlight desert manta my beloved, they just fly in loops iirc
the only french manta in sky
Starlight Desert manta yoinking skykids heading for the winged light under the king's island
"you shall not pass"
While we're at it, I always thought Ancient Aliens could fit the coming of Sky Kids to the Prophecy Caves from the POV of the questgiver
my hands start shaking towards my drawing tablet but no i have ap tests i have to control mmysefl
Thanks for reminding me that it's finals week 😒😒😒😒😒 lol
no animatics until after my tests
laughs in graduated
Hello lore chat
TWO TESTS LEFT!!! and school is a toxic relationship because I want it to be over but I don't want it to be over because I have to take tests first help
I’m just waiting for the school year to be over
lemon demon just has such good songs for animatics i can’t help myself
I don't know about rulers but i could say, my headcanon, they are powerful being compared to ancestors, each of them have specific roles and powers for the world and are the one making spirits ascending, you can see the constellation forming after giving them powers. You also can see in the prophecy cave painting, them using elemtary lights (fire , water , air and earth)
I hear that they are not really really present in the world ? More like the trial, you go to a weird space ? ,,,, Sorry if it don't help
Hope it is ok to respond
They are the leaders of each Realm. Biologically, I think they’re higher levels of the Ancestor. My personal theory is that they escaped to a world where they can rest easily for a very long time, and stayed there.
In each cutscene, the Elder shows us what wondrous things we can do with our candle, so I believe that’s the lore reason why we go to them
lemon demon AND mitski bro…..these songs got hands. after ap tests i’m gonna be a sky animatic gremlin
I got lore depression right now. What's the point when we have nothing solid to speculate about and nothing is really confirmed or ever will be confirmed
man…
If it makes you feel better we have a fun community and head cannons are fun to make! Maybe we can beg for lore stuff
Wooly Manta
Just remember that we are the authors of the lore bible. We have the power of creating such powerful theories and headcanons that that they eventually become accepted. We can solve a world shrouded in mystery and find all its aspects. We can customize the lore and request for it to be changed.
Honestly I like this chat for headcanons more now. I feel like with lore we just repeat ourselves (no offense at all) just because there's only so much we can work with and it's all subjective
since the lore is mostly up to personal interpretation it’s up to the individual to make up the lore for themselves
The definition of lore is “a body of knowledge.” That is it: we are constantly finding new things to add to this body and increase the amount of details that are available.
I'm trying to 100% the constellations right now so I cut me some slacks it's a depressing task 😂
Remember: all you need to create a theory is an idea and evidence for that idea. We have made theories on absolutely everything, and so we are refining it.
I was on fandom wiki and someone broke down how much it costs to 100% everything and oh boy I have a lot of work to do. There will never be enough hearts but I don't want to take all of my partners candles away for that
Prepare everyone I have a theory to post:
Baudlorebaudlorebaudlore
And just wanting goofy headcanons is okay as well. The complex theories aren’t for everyone; that is fine. They are not all this channel has — they just make up a portion of it.
Although I do like making theories, it can be depressing to see them take up the entire channel and be considered as it’s main focus 100% of the time. A lot of them are heavily interrelated and rely on knowing about other theories to be understood, making them intimidating for newer arrivals. Sometimes us debating over them and picking them apart can look a lot like arguments, and be equally intimidating for newer arrivals (it was hard for me to get into theories bc of anxiety). I can totally understand people preferring and wanting to discuss their silly headcanons over canon chasing
We do unfortunately repeat ourselves Somewhat in terms of theories, but that’s less because of not being able to make much and more because those specific points are just what people want to talk about
yeah this is pretty much the truth
We need a scribe for this channel but it's too chaotic and the Google doc would be massive
I like discussing more thought-out theories in depth. the goofy headcanons are fine but they have their place. if they overtook the channel 100% of the time, it'd be no different than #cozy and I wouldn't really enjoy it.
Yep
I do also like the thought out theories I just… I don’t know how to phrase this? I just don’t like when they take up 100% of the channel because I like options
Forgot what a scribe was, was thinking about inscryption
I like talking about the deep themes in the game such as legacy, hope, renewal and all but I tend to repeat myself so I just default to just...
Hello
Hi
I am here to submit silly but plausible ideas and nothing else
I've still been feeling mentally worn out lately but before that I enjoyed writing about my thoughts on this game's world, both silly and serious. I don't mind switching between the two modes but I don't want to burn myself out on the funny stuff before I can discuss the more in-depth things too.
And also the rare sketch
Let’s see if your observation is true Salem
Prophecy-Enchantment Lights theory.
The Prophets created the trials to see who would be fit for the next ruler of Sky.
Many people attempted to complete the trials but failed, until one Chosen One came.
They foresaw the Elemental Lights being handed over to the Elders.
Because of this, they decided to give their powers (in the form of Elemental Lights) to the wider Sky kingdom first (Aurora and Sanctuary), then the Elders.
Each Light came from one prophet: so cyan light came from the Prophet of Air, etc. The shared powers of the Prophets were used to create Red Light and Purple Light: which are based on Concealment and Mind, respectively.
The Elders used these lights to enhance the Sky world, but the Sky kingdom started to decline. So, they sent the Lights to a newly formed Enchantment Crew and tasked them to build a wondrous new world.
However, they failed. The Lights returned to the places they were most comfortable in.
The Lightseekers wanted to use the Elemental Lights, but they couldn’t, so they pursued other forms of light.
Evidence: The Locations for the Lights in the Prophecy mural shows their most desirable location, which fits with what we see in the present.
Blue Light is a bit weird, but if we consider the Valley to have been less frozen in the Kingdom’s past, it could fit.
Green Light is found in Prairie.
Cyan light is found high above clouds.
Orange Light is found in Forest.
Additionally,
Red Light is shrouded in a hard-to-reach area, fitting with its power of concealment.
Purple Light is in the Vault of Knowledge, fitting with its powers of mind and imagination.
The symbols for the Prophecy Elements and Enchantment Lights are the same.
The Elders are seen using the Lights in murals.
The Lights are not used by anyone besides the Enchantment crew, implying that they are the intended users of it.
Credit to Salem for their brilliant theories about the Lights, especially Purple Light
Lore chat artists unite
This is all I have as of this moment
AMAZING
You know what, this is canon to me now
I was an enchantment moth so it has never occurred to me that the lights would have lore to them . . .. (and I forgot that they were apart of that season)
Could I be part of the lore chat artists?
An example would be the “timelines” comment that TGC made. The entirety of lorechat begged for a correction, and it happened.
once ap tests are over and i have time to draw again i would love to be part of the lore chat artists
That was a typo being fixed, not fixed lore being changed though
That spirit has always been a Steve to me thank you for this
Just for that, you won at lore chat art.
If someone mentions talented builder and I like the idea I will draw it
Even still, it shows that we’re not just passerbys commenting on lore
A date with the Light Whisperer and Talented Builder involving Wooly Mantas ||do not ask how I got this idea||
vela i have to say i forgot that ancient aliens existed as a song and now u have me listening to it on repeat
AWWW
It’s an honor
I have a theory about the eye of Eden, where exactly you are for that final part and why you get spit out in a different area but I don't have the mental capacity
Light whisper and talented builder
Hey||~creek~||, do it later! I want to see it!
AS YOU SHOULD
This is the exact pun I love to see with my name that's why it's my username for everything
I like this time to get references for them both
i’m taking a brief break from my 7 hour study session to draw silly little memes for the silly little lore chat
I’m trying to comprehend to discuss this but I keep reaching like the second paragraph and my reading comprehension dies, will be BADK in morning
The only thing I will mention is that I’m confused where you got the proph murals being the lights desirable locations form as there are many diff imterpretstions for those, and the locations shown there are not the same ones we find them in
no I’m not going to bed
Salem if I go to bed, will you too?
No
I’m only going to sleep if you are
You do you Salem I'll be up for another 3 hours
Didn’t include the spirits but have a restless brand Wooly Manta
I’ve slept 14 hours already, I’m not going to bed
It’s not sleepy tired it’s like general exhaustion/brain fog which is why
Then log off.
For me it’s allergies
to be honest, I don’t appreciate being told how to take care of myself. It’s not like I can’t read or form thoughts in this state, just that reading long paragraphs and responding lengthily to them isn’t something I have the energy for at the moment.
Honestly, I get that. It’s not like your tired you brain is just going at the speed of internet explorer
Idk your time zones but I'm a night owl. I got an hour before I have to seriously start getting ready for bed. Est gang rise up
I’m mid flare up at the moment. If I slept every time I was tired or didn’t log on to discord, I’d sleep for days on end and you’d never see me
Night owl but body hates me
Oh sorry, i thought it would be a fun joke in the same vein as the “go to bed” reactions
I’m either way to awake for my own good, or at the point of passing out
Say, Salem why do you use specifically a yellow heart for reacting? Is it because it’s the color of cheese
No, because yellow roses signify friendship, :-)
WAIT THEN
Yellow is a cool color!
I use pink hearts for my friend group chats because I like pink and blue for my partner because his response to seeing my blue homecoming dress when we first started dating was "it's beautiful!!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙"
I thought it was a warm color
Vela.
I used to use purple Heart 💜 but I started disliking how it looks on mobile iOS so I switched to green 💚
I also like the thought of having a unique heart color so that others can see at a glance that I’m the one who reacted happily to something so I picked yellow
It works, I now know that yellow hearts are you and green ones are Alasdair.
I personally like the orange heart 🧡 but I like all the hearts. Very pretty
It’s just a really nice imprint of myself to leave I’m not sure if that makes sense :-) like an I was here
🖤 is me.
Unique emote for those without nitro
Oooh!! We totally should have our special heart!!
if I had nitro I would so be spamming everyone with the tethowo emotes
Same for me: I use the white heart because my pfp’s hair is white: but I think it better represents my boomerism
I’ve been in lorechat for 1.5 years jc
Okay so we have white, orange, yellow, green and black
Come get it quickly or we’ll run out of them:
There’s only 18 default heart emotes
You rich nitro people gotta make your own personal emotes lol
Man, more heart emotes than lorechat regulars /j
Wait guys what heart should I pick???
Whatever appeals to you
Making desisions, my weakness
🫀<— someone should get this heart/j
that one's mine! 🫀
Vela’s heart is the cheese emote. I am declaring this to be true. Whenever they cheese me it is a sign of their love and appreciative ness of me. The truth does not matter /j
HAH.
the orb ponderers
ORB
I’ll take purple, if that’s ok?💜
💖 snatched because I'm basic why is this not pink discord get your stuff together
wooly but somewhat in the style of a monster hunter icon
something about all the orbs combined being boat shmgbol hmmm
I’m going to bed now, Goodnight fellas!!!!💜
Good night!🖤
lore chat i’m in the midst of my studying so this is all i can muster atm but am i accepted into the lore chat artists with my offering of a crudely drawn performance guide and their moth
Amazing!
Someone said this chat had more wholesome art than the art chat
Alert: theory coming through! Welcome to lorechat, aureolin!
Hello!
That was me!
Performance guide is really proud of their moths and i love that
Welcome, we have theories, hours were we are bouncing off the walls, and cheese?!
I LOVE THIS IMAGE SO MUCH
WEEPS 💕💕
H u h ?
one of these days i’ll get around to drawing some spirits in my more stylized art but for now, i am banished back to the realms of ap european history review
That’s the pure truth! Also it’s very similar to Latin clases. Some of us are very murderous!
DO NOT QUESTION IT
Anyways, here are my interpretation on the Light locations:
The Orange Light of Fire is the least debatable. It’s clearly in a forest, we find it in the Hidden Forest.
The Green Light of Earth is a bit more difficult. However, the phrase associated with it “they are gifts to the earth from the Sky” gives a clear answer: mantas drop Green Light to the ground. So, the ideal
location is Prairie, more specifically the Bird’s Nest.
The Cyan Light of Air’s phrase is “Lingers among the early gusts of the wind.” The “early gusts” could mean 2 things: young or in the morning. In either case, it fits with Isle.
This leaves the Blue Light of Water. This one’s a bit difficult, and I can’t explain it well besides the fact that wasteland and vault aren’t nature-friendly environments. I have an idea, however: the phrase says “mountain lake”, and the in the Prophecy mural, the Light is surrounded by a lake.
@keen shore here’s my response now I’m sneep snorping
Bouncing off the walls and uh...cheese?-
Yes
i also sometimes talk about furries, homestuck and taste things upon request. your pfp tastes like grass.
Its hydrangea cookie-
you will get used to my homestuck posting eventually dear victim. farewell, i must return to the War of the 3 Henrys
Welcome to lore chat!
But yeah in here it’s sometimes chill sometimes we have theories and sometimes we are toddlers hyped up on pixie sticks
something is bothering me about this. This is the cyan light in prairie, not isle. If the enchantment lights returned to their best locations then it would have gone to prairie, not isle
That’s an observation I thought about as well. In Reality, the only point of contention is the floating islands themselves. Without them, it’s clearly Isle.
But still, I would think it’s Isle. There could’ve been parts of the Sky world that were modified (like The Valley shown in the blue light mural), and maybe Isle had floating islands. Even if it’s not, it could’ve just been a thing that’s just there, similar to the tiny island in the Blue Light mural
OK NOW I HAVE TO ACTUALLY SNEEP SNORP IM GONE BYE
Alright gonna go to art chat. Hope you enjoyed my cat photos-
I absolutely adore this image. so much.
Sleep well!🖤
Also ! Maybe Valley did change at some place ! Maybe not much like Isle of dawn or golden wastedland but that everything is ice and lakes are gone ? Where the blue light is could be a lake
Salem get sneep snorp.
It’s an ice rink currently but that makes a lot of sesne.
Valley ice rink used to have water underneath it but apparently devs said it "wasn't real water" and with the Season of Abyss update it was removed, perhaps so moths wouldn't drown
I see
Alrighty! Do as you wish but do get some sneep snorp.
Wasn’t real water?! But funny but a bit scary
hmmmm yes feline lore
the finest of sky lore
it was the tears of every advanced placement student shed this week

AP English language and composition. Thing is ✨bad things✨ happened during that half of the school year so I remember absolutely nothing about it
wait i’m in the same boat w/ english 😭😭 my teacher got fired halfway thru the year so we completely switched curriculums with my new one
Time to map forest!
@frigid tinsel experiences this every time he takes me candle running with piggy back
Rough sketch for the map.
cat mask when. no not the weasel mask
The days after a cat mask comes out I will not wear anything else ever
cat ears head prop
Cat mask for Salem , cat mask for Salem !!
Kitty ears bouncing as you go. And it's cheap so we can see moths with them.
I steal one of slink’s $20 bills, scribble something on the back, and slide it to the devs. It says “isle season with cat mask”
The animal masks are cool. When I got the Ox/Bull mask I wore nothing else for a month
Sassy Drifter's braver sibling.
There’s a disporpotiate amount of almost-domestic-cats in isle (sassy drifter, fire prophet) but none of them have committed and gone full catperson. Follow forest elders example, you know you want to.
We need an even fruitier stance.
this convo has somehow reminded me that belonging ancestor honks in the cosmic manta voice and I’m not sure what to think abt that, because it means they’ve probably been to vault at some point
Wait , who do cosmic manta voice ? Grandma ?
Which one ? Grandma mimics our calls, she makes the last one she heard !
Yeah, I prefer calling them belonging ancestor/guide because it makes it more obvious theyre agender and is their canon name, instead of gendering them. And I didn’t know that that’s so cool!!
Yea Granny mimicks skykids’ calls, that’s prob where they picked it up
Also i can imagine the grandpa wanting to share their discovery in vault, could be cute
Grandma (nonbinary)
I call them Granny but use they/them pronouns for them
That’s fair considering granny could reasonably stand for grandparent
Quick forest map!
in my ficverse, I'm only using gender neutral or unisex terms but have been considering doing some genderfunking by using gendered terms. everyone is still agender yet any nonbinary person could use gendered terms if they want and still be nonbinary
Someone compliments another persons pronouns and gets the response “thanks I made them myself!!!”
neopronouns are dope but everyone uses they/them in my fic
MY $20!!!
its ok its for a good cause
as someone who almost exclusively uses neopronouns i use them in fic whenever i can (grinch smile)
at the same time, gender neutral terms don't get enough love. for parents, I'm fond of nini and ba/baba. nibling is a neat term. joyfriend is pretty cool
we do have a sovereign called the king in canon but they're still agender. gendered terms aren't out the window, but I'd like to show more attention to gender neutral alternatives
IM SORRY I NEEDED JT AND YOUR PILE WAS RIHT THERE
some spirits wojld also almsot definitely make up their own pronouns and use them so it’s canon compliant 👍
slaps the roof of prophecy guide this bad boy can fit so much it/its in it
prophecy guide saw new pronouns in a dream and immediatley adopted them
it’s just like me fr
I always interpreted the murals before the caves as like. warning of the power the prophecy lights contain. The blue light summons rain and causes flooding, the orange light causes a forest fire, the cyan light can make floating islands, and the green light can bring life to any area
also i interpreted it as like. the prophecy lights are extremely powerful and dangerous natural phenomena that the elders/prophets sealed away in a cave behind trials for the safety of the realms. I mean these lights look like they might’ve shaped the realms. whereas the enchantment lights might be weaker, artificially made versions of them, which is why we have two new colors: split the light orbs into the different colors and boom, magic. and rainbows. I remember Ash saying the two seasonal lights were related “in a sense” so that could be what’s going on there
bobbit- after 4 hours
Still quiet?
How is everyone doing?
[I was looking for something, don't mind me.]
Can we do that for Performance guide 🐧
If the Performance guide is not seen ascending in the last quest, I am drawing their elder bird sona.
Considering the handstand champion fell after doing a handstand in their spirit memory
Do you think they’re jealous sky kids did it first try and just cartwheel into a standing position after we do it
I dreamt about lorechat??
Oh no what’s going on with me
I am horrified
good morning lore chat i’m going crazy
I don't know a lot about sky's lore so can anybody explain what's with the elders, what's with the prince, what's with the king, and what's with the stuff that's happened with ||Eden..?||
Just wanted to know cus I'm interested at it
hey lorechat! you know that scene in eden when we're ||soaring straight up to orbit?|| what's that floating island there with the castles? is that where the prince lived?
The Prince and King are extremely mysterious figured. They only exist in concept art. The only canon theory we have is that the King is the Eden Elder.
The giant diamond you see in Eden spewed out a massive amount of darkness a while ago, causing the Storm of Eden.
The Elders are the leaders of each realm, with each of them having a specific power. They are in a separate dimension to increase their longevity.
@safe sphinx The Eden Castle probably used to be the home for the Eden Elder.
I see, I also saw a part of the concepts that the vault elder also made an ark to do something with Eden
Also does the megabird have something to do with anything other than them being the god of the world (like, anything known so far?)
is it also the diamond that we see at the end of all the realms? especially in starlight desert towards the right?
in other words, is that diamond the same as the power diamond where we go past point of no return?
I suppose so, it is pretty much like the core of eden
I swear I saw some stories (probably just head canons?) here that the King did something with the diamond and gave all their light to the diamond and it ended up getting himself corrupted by the darkness
Man I am so confused
Also, some people said that the diamond is the main reason why theres a storm in eden and others say it's because of the ark hitting over the diamond that caused a big explosion and the storm to happen
I don't know which one is the actual thing that happened
I’m pretty sure that there is no actual lore as to what happened, so take your pick of headcanons
Ah alright then
I wish tgc made a season that had something to do with Eden and it's lore
Before you get to the big castle floating
The same collection of all the elders statues we see in vault are there. Same order as they are in vault too
Ohhh rightt
I've seen that a couple of times now, wondered why it was there
I theorize vault of knowledge is a part of the wasteland Temple (it doesn’t have a realm outside like the others, nor does vault elder have a literal temple) and vault elder was actually elder of eden
(Not the king or prince but an elder watching over a realm and the king was just the main ruler of all the realms)
(Can't stick around for long, but can't help but lurk about.)
You may want to look at the mural in Vault, the one that depicts Eden in the all Elders cutscene.
It Shows the elder (The King) holding an orb. While there are some theories about the orb.
Some suggest its a lightseeker orb, it could be a fallen star, a mote of light (another way to describe a ball of light), the megabird's eye or even a soul.
Either case, this mural may be the best clue in the game to what has happened.
My headcanon is that the Eden diamond absorbed all the light around it to be used to give infinite power to the Sky world, but it broke/got corrupted.
the ark hitting the diamond?
like the forgotten ark hitting the diamond like the titanic hitting the iceberg?
Do you think the diamond was actually that big? Or did it just g r o w
I believe it symbolizes the Apple: since it’s called the Eye of Eden, maybe the King got tempted by something.
I think he got influenced by the idea of darkstone. It worked for a while, but he took it to such extremes that it destroyed the Sky world.
Oh yeah if anybody doesn't know what ThatDisaster's talking about here's a pic
It's a bit far away in the pics but yeah, it's there
Unfortunately, it’s shrouded in mystery. The only thing we can do is make the theory that fits the best narratively. Will you join us in creating this theory?
Yeah
Also I'm down for it xD
it looks like the original eden end scene from light awaits
Power diamond: minding its business
Forgotten ark: 🧍
did the gif load for your guys ;-; it's an empic embed fail for me
It didn’t load either: this place is filled with epic embed fails
speaking of the forgotten ark how did it get all the way out to wasteland?
Loaded for me :3
the link works it just won't load here
It could’ve departed from Wasteland. Read my Enchantment-Prophecy theory for more: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
:0 how are yall so smart
As a symbol for the forbidden fruit based on the Eden connotation, very much so.
In Greek myth, (if I understood the mythos correctly) fire is what gave mankind the advance in technology, what was taken from the gods and brought knowledge and destruction.
In biblical text (Christianity), the forbidden fruit (apple) was from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (essentially everything)
Dang I can't find the imgur post with the infos about the elders
I wanted to recheck something there
Passion substitutes for intelligence here
Do we know anything about the ceremonial worshipers in prairie?
Their graves are decorated and have a lot of candles in front of each one, seem well cared for, plus… their ceremonial worshippers
Also what’s with prairie elders obsession with pots
They’re even in the floors
Possible that maybe even the spirits who reside in the realm are also into pots
Pots were used to store butterflies.
I’m head-canoning that they’re shrines used to worship either Megabird or us. They are a worshipper, so they probably have to believe in some sort of faith.
Did they fix the floor with pots??
Stashing them their to hide them??? Why?
Why are their pots in your floor prairie elder???
Prairie elder is a butterfly hater and I won’t be convinced otherwise
You know we talk about murals a lot but im just interested in whoever was in bird nest, saw all the birds, and said “let’s draw as many as possible on the inside of this one tower”
They literally summon butterflies and store them in pots. I find it difficult to believe they hate butterflies.
Yes, but
As someone who loved ladybugs
The moment I had to deal with as many ladybugs as they have butterflies: I can’t even look at one now without remembering my hatred
With how many butterflies they have in their temple and realm they definitely got tired of them at some point. Not to mention the fact they told the single butterfly that was flying around to get in the pot
“Get in their and don’t come out”
I picture they sigh everytime a skid releases butterflies into their temple
It’s not like they’d hurt one but they’ll shoo them and try to control the hoards
I had even more reasons as to why but it’s Gonna take me a while to remember them—
the jars could be storing food instead of butterflies..
Butterfly jam
Do you think that honey exists in Sky? Giant bumblebee mantas
what is wasteland elder's name again i totally forgot and it's on the tip of my tongue-
That would be very cool if there were.
Imagine the jars in the day elder temple being jars of honey.
The prairie elder would also be annoyed with butterflies because as they’re loose in the temple they have to deal with the bright light of them all, the constant high pitched ‘gigggling’, flying sporadically and crashing into them, each other, skids, pot, etc.
