Personally the older version of this memory made more sense. During Light Awaits, the spirit was carrying luggage/cargo. Either to deliver or just load onto a boat, but the boat did not want to take off. Try as they might, the spirit could not get the boat off the ground and got upset at that.

as a TLP moth, I wonder what the premise was for Season of Assembly. I heard that the doors and gates to the treehouse were always there, just couldn't be opened. did some day a bunch of skids finally opened one of the gates and tumbled down the tunnels, find the derelict treehouse, and stumble upon Assembly guide thinking one of their scouts finally came home?

Defiance and leadership specifically- While the leadership may just be linked to the fact that she's in the scouts. I think the mild defiance may come upon her father trying to raise her but not actually taking care of her leading her to go against orders that he would've tried imposing - i wonder if this makes any sense at all....

personally I think whatever they were doing there led to pollution around the area that gradually corrupted a giant light creature living in the seas, turning it into the leviathan. The leviathan punches a whole in the bottom of the area (the abyss we swim into to save cannoneer) and everything kind of partially collapses and floods

I’m back with a pounded out theory about candied wooly mantas

During the warmer seasons, mantas get overheated if they’re too fluffy. Luckily for them, a little-known anatomical fact about them is that they have two layers of fur. A harder layer on the inside protected them from the chilly winter, and a softer layer provided down insulation. Every spring, the butterflies squeeze their way into the mantas’ fur to lay their eggs. This process dislodges the soft outer layer, and it gently floats to the ground. Younger ancestors will tell you that they used to collect it as they drifted down from the sky, calling the odd substance “manta manna”. Just realized but we only see Eden from the Wind Paths and the Starlight Desert; the Treehouse, the Forgotten Ark and the Treasure Reef are covered by clouds, the Prophecy Cave is underground (and obscured by clouds aboveground), the Sanctuary Islands may be too far and below the cloudline, and the Village of Dreams, the Hermit Valley and the Village Theater curiously don't have a view of Eden (though Ash said Bearhug Hermit probably had a nice view of it from their cave).
Might make it hard to place them on a timeline based off the appearance of Eden... but I think they would roughly fit the era of the realm they are in anyway.

The process of becoming a sun/star in real life according to my crusty old 2007 published books say that debris swirls around until it eventually clumped together. Using this and the fact that lorechat previously tried to have the black hole theory which people believe in - because skykids are drawn to it ( i think thats what that conversation was about ) may show the different times in sky. As you see a cloud around the power star in the flying isle area and the valley-. Perhaps thats debris from the explosion in a sense. Thats still finding its place to settle down. I believe mega bird remade sky to try to save her first child the prince/king but the spirits we already have never saw he or the eden and that’s why that part is the only place she didn’t remade but the elders must (or at least should) have memories of the prince/king, what happened to them? ||The storm sound cues could be like the crystal breathing? It would make a lot of sense, there's a distinct sound every like 12s, .5s later the rock rain occurs for 8s, followed by about 4 seconds grace period in-between rocks... The breathing could maybe even be the corrupted king weeping? Maybe their body became exponential and expanded due to sharing his light and life force with the power diamond. In return it shared a large release of power and got slightly more corrupted each time that the king offered power, slowly becoming addictive and consuming him in the process... Maybe once he became corrupted his life force shattered into crystals in the ground which became corrupted, in turn changing the diamond crimson red.. like blood... This created a storm of energy in the Wasteland around the diamond creating a time locked storm (which becomes known as PNR). When we exploit the game and become storm locked, we're like in the aftermath of the storm... We are in a trapped place between life and death, on the border of megabirds reality... One between life and destruction... That's why we are unable to enter realms....||

||... back to the storm, due to the black hole theory, time is relative and uncontrollable due to time dilation, this could in turn create a time loop, which is why the rain is predictable and in progressive waves... Closer to the diamond you go, the stronger the rain and energy is, the diamond (or black hole) is after life force and energy, you use that energy which is exerted into the rocks, on entry to this area it takes little energy to progress into the storm but as we delve deeper into the Strom and get closer to the core, we need to fight more to be able to reach the goal, the rocks increase in frequency and become more dangerous, this could represent the gravitational pull with a black hole making it more energy costing to exit the pull, meaning it's difficult to turn back and escape the pull of the storm.... The breathing being the core, but in a frozen time state, the diamond is unstable but locked in a loop of where the energy dissipates and is reabsorbed by its own damage onto others absorbed and transferred back to the core through the ground. The breathing ultimately being the core but at the same time maybe the defeated king becoming a puppet of the storm :)||

The sound I am referring to the PNR tunnel is different to the song Exhale.
Listening to it, it sounds like the song playing in the later half of Eden (just before dying to the darkness), or the dark room where we hug the light kid.

As for the black hole theory and the red crystal.
The breathing idea is also an option. Stormlocked occurs throughout the final area in Eden, ascension and up to rebirth. stormlocked could be the game's way of saying that this part of the game is important and must be completed before you are able to access the other parts of the game. Almost as if it is a boss fight, and you cannot run away to recover and leave the area until you finish the encounter.

I recall there being a documentary or short video that showed how black holes would behave. An object or entity where no light can escape it, where gravity is infinite and linked to time. There was one video that showed two black holes colliding and the waves of gravity created from the black holes orbiting each other was in waves, almost like a heart beat.
And another video showed what happens if there were a binary star system, and one of the stars becomes a black hole. The video even showed an animated simulation of a black hole draining the light from its partner star, and there was a sound recording that was like a heartbeat as well.

Though interestingly, touching the dark sludge does not drain your light. Similar to the water in forest does not affects skykids, but the rain itself does.
Perhaps it is the negative effect being caused by corruption deals damage, but not the cause itself.
Such as the krill itself does not harm skykids, it is the charge and intend to harm them that does damage.

Story of Season of Belonging during development: The initial idea was, the seasonal spirits were looking for presents for the grandma-like spirit. Each spirit would bring back a present which would be added to the dinner table, and a party would begin. The girl-like spirit in the prairie was picking flowers, and the father-like spirit in the wasteland was chasing crabs. The initial idea was that the crab was a gift, but what the crab was actually for was left for players' imagination.

Current story of Season of Belonging: The grandma-like spirit is feeling lonely because her family is missing at the table. The 6 seasonal spirits are preoccupied with something or lost in the world. The children of light were asked by the grandma-like spirit to take her family (belonging season spirits) back home. Each skykid receives a dinner bell from grandma, and uses it to remind the spirits.
There are seemingly 3 generations in the family: Grandpa and grandma wearing white capes, father and mother wearing navy capes, two sons and one daughter wearing red capes.

Ah the leviathan. Well dark ceatures are confirmed corrupted light creatures, so the leviathan must’ve been one as well. Like krill, we don’t know what they originally were but there are ideas. One suggests the leviathan might be a corrupted whale like the ones in Sanctuary Islands and the Forest caverns. Another idea suggests that it is a mega conglomerate of many light creatures like mantas who were abused and subjected to darkness from power diamonds manufacturing and exploitation
