It’s strange because you never really know about what the disaster really was. We know it has to do with the king, the darkness, and the Eye of Eden, but there are areas that look perfectly un-ravaged in the outskirts of the kingdom

Not really. A bunch of kids flying around and a full fledged kingdom aren’t really the same or comparable. And with the seasonal spirits part - rebirth in this context would mean getting reborn as a living ancestor, not being summoned down as a spirit

I don't think it was the darkness, there are no dark plants and no crabs in isle, making it the only realm to have neither. Isle probably wilted over time, we don't know how long ago the switch trailer was.
actually to bring up a bit of a tinfoil hat theory, maybe the isle was originally a desert and they terraformed it with green light.

the darkness's effect on Isle could me more indirect in that without living ancestors to maintain it, the Isle became adesert

I think they might be connected to the wise grandparent memories bc the first time the player reliving the memory got to the next one and the particle crab disappeared before i could snag a screenshot. this one only appeared when the floating lantern lit up the area, and then disappeared once it moved past and wouldn’t reappear. It’s not an actual eye, if you use the maskless cosmetic you can see that skykids only have 2 eyes. Though i’m not sure what the glowy thing in the forehead of some masks is

yeah the light thingie is in the same place as it appears on the default mask but this appears on the actual spirit. which i don’t think happens with many others if at all

Yes, everything, including the murals have to be taken as an internal history, so skewed by the spirits who made them, so there can be inconsistencies depending on point of view

I think this one is nice as being told as a form of legend, passed down from spirits of Isle, possibly through others to the performance spirits.

Megabird is a bit like the King in the way that they're important figures who are mostly shown in concept arts.

What is Megabird?

Megabird appears to be a being of light composed of an immense amount of stars, which may possibly be the souls of light creatures such as mantas and skykids and such. Megabird creates and rebirths these creatures. Megabird's personality (or the lack thereof) is debatable because whether or not they are truly a sentient being, an instinctive force, a hivemind, or something else is also debatable.

What is Megabird's role?

Megabird creates and helps with the rebirth of light creatures. They are commonly believed to have created skykids in order to ascend the spirits from ascension, though whether or not we are created with other purposes is debatable.

to cut things short:

• megabird, light entity/god/something makes light creatures, light creatures grow old and migrate to a place where they die and get reborn through megabird
• people arrive and start domesticating light creatures, making buildings etc
• there's a prince and he gets crowned king but ends up making bad decisions leading to eden turning into what we know today as eden
• there's more stuff that happened but they found out abt dark stuff and went "ooh" and now things are bad

and also you are tasked with bringing spirits back to the megabird (the world of sky was very connected to the megabird but then they got disconnected from megabird and now no longer get reborn or smth)

Theory, what if the King was like a Sky kid? Like the first Sky kid? I really believe in this

Anyway, here are my random headcanon ideas (I’ll use he/she pronounces, but only for this one message dw)
— Daleth: Likes to spend some time with young sky kids, teaching them everything he knows
— Ayin: Sleeps a lot (logically); a bit timid and not really good at socializing with people, but feels himself really well with creatures (can heel them for example, understands their language); probably likes drinking tea; is really afraid of dark creatures but feels sorry for them too
— Teth: Really kindhearted even though she seems a bit harsh; likes spending her free time in the Pink/Sunny Forest; never takes an umbrella with her; doesn’t like hot weather; her favorite snack is probably sushi; likes dancing when no one watches her, else she gets embarrassed and angry
— The Twins: Both are “clowns”, but can be really serious if needed; afraid of the dark; often fight with each other but will cry if separated; can’t play musical instruments normally; early birds; love to sneak out from their Temple and stalk the ordinary people; good pranksters
— Tsadi: Really sleep deprived; probably doesn’t really believe in the Megabird anymore; loves helping absolutely everyone no matter how tired he is; his dream vacation would be a trip to the Sanctuary Isles; likes hot springs; might unwillingly make a little child cry because of his appearance and loud voice
— Lamed: Taciturn, prefers being alone ,ost of the time; happens really rarely, but she can gossip about someone; dwells on the past; always wanted to be a teacher; likes pilaf

The Prince fell from the sky (as a “gift” from Megabird) and was found by the Isle Spirits and then raised by the Elder (Daleth)
Then he was trained by the Prophets and after that finally “got” all the power of the four elements and then “gifted” it to the new Elders (which he probably brought together)

Then he and the Forest Elder discovered a powerful energy source — dark stone
It was a huge breakthrough. The life of the spirits was now improved thanks to new inventions.
For that, the Prince was crowned King.
However soon, something strange started happening…

I don’t think this is referring to all light creatures, as we know many of those came from the ocean. But this could be the explanation for where butterflies come from, as they’re the only creatures of light not based on an ocean creature.
This could also explain why butterflies come to us when we deep call, or fly alongside us: there’s a deeper connection there, because we both came from stars

My idea is that while Isle used to be wayy bigger. maybe borneo size in comparison or so. there were wind paths that could take you anywhere in a manta boat or whatever gargantuan was in the switch trailer.
that was until perhaps the eden explosion shook not only time and space but also the gravity of things in general, including the moon (bear with me). so due to higher pull from the moon, the water level rose as well as the clouds condensing into water due to little stirrage of life

Hold on, this actually could fit in with Aether's theory as well.... You guys know how the waters in Ark dropped last season and now they're all gone... Maybe when eden exploded ... It altered climates, maybe GW used to be a foresty or meadowy area that was once an ocean, over time sea levels dropped and eventually became a blossoming area that's why we see farms and stuff... But due to Eden's destruction, things destabilised and the nourished lands of GW dried up and became a warzone and a dried land. We do see water pools around the flight islands and the small bits of rock too.. so maybe.. some of the water was taken from the desolate land and taken through teh windpaths with those alternating climates?

I mean it would be reasonable to think this with how jagged the land is in eden... It's jagged and not as mountainous either, it's like a deep ocean trench in a way?

Linking to this, maybe GW was flooded as well, krills maybe we're passive along with crabs and as eden exploded those oceans drained and the wildlife and waters became corrupted with darkness, the plants also seemed to become poison to the land spreading across realms, however the elders gave their light to save some of the land so that it wouldn't all die off?

My theory about Wasteland is that while it was industrialized, that didn’t immediately equate to the absolute desolation we see in Wasteland. Pipes could be buried in dirt and could even have thriving, lush landscaping living on them. The bridges and walls could be strung with vines. If the broken pillar paths we see in the first area do indicate a civilization built by where the water leads to the lush plains that are irrigated by Valley’s melting snow, it could be almost tropical. That kind of climate would make sense given the fact that there’s the reef

Granted, this concept art looks very early, though it might be the precursor to the orbs of light we see in the game.
Both are orbs, both have great value. true enough Sky's orbs glow and the ones in the drawing look like jade, but here is the link.

Megabird takes in creatures that carry orbs, as seen in the water mural and other concept art.
These orbs of light are important as the ancestors took great care of them, put a lot of value on them, and the colours correlate with white/golden light being holy or sacred.

So, if these can be confirmed to be motes, then the lightseekers, the enchantment group, the spirits that took in these orbs, were working with MOTES.

Eden is a realm of chaos and darkness.
It is a place that has been theorised to have been the centre of the Storm, the centre of the corruption, ground zero at the top of the mountain.
Looking at the Little Prince, the place is either very windy, or cold (or both) as he was shivering when he was turned into stone.

I like to think the reason why it happened is because the Little Prince did not have any winged light to protect his body and soul. This may also be the case with the skykids, as they only turn into stone once they are out of Light.

I think the prophecy lights were naturally-occurring phenomena, the murals leading up to the prophecy cave show their great potential for destruction. The ancestors probably gathered the lights and left them guarded in the cave to prevent them from being misused. I think the enchantment lights were weaker versions of those elemental lights, artificially made later in the timeline, and with two new colors: red and purple (assuming the fire light is orange)

You know how all the spirits are, well, spirits? A species who died ages ago and we are only now seeing glimpses of their memories?
Well what if why they all wear masks is because that was the death mask they were buried in?
Their souls are bound to their burial clothes so what we see is how they were buried?

(As for the vid showing the life of the spirits when they were living maybe it’s seen through the eyes of the Lights Children as they read the ancient stories so they see them how they know the spirits, in their burial masks)

I think they did wear the masks when they were alive, abyss spirits such as the Anxious Angler and Cackling Cannoneer both have damage to their masks through a dangerous lifestyle, plus the facepalm level 3 emote from the Baffled Botanist spirit physically moves the mask, and their memory takes place before they died

What if an ancestor used to be all white, but then lose their light in some way. Determined to keep what little light they have safe, they wear masks that help their eyes glow, as well as hide the shame they had of losing their light?

Just a though based on the ushering stargazer's memory showing a child being born from the stars, and the child is light, yet the ancestors are dark.

The skykids may be a similar case, though they are not the same as the ancestors. The masks are simply a part of their identity, not their position or status in society. While a skykid is not light, they become light when they meet their light half in the void, when they are enlightened.

So Eden has the biggest power diamond, it requires so much light, that no manta or light creature could suffice. So this King having the most light and wanting his kingdom to thrive, sacrificing his light to the diamond. Now as time went on the king as per giving up his light became corrupted. Soon as all light was given the diamond imploded or exploded haven’t decided which one yet. That’s what I believed caused last destruction

Oh my god... For the companion path, with the elder, I thought the skid was just lonely, and the elder becomes that companion. BUT having the elder be radiant ends with the child learning the fate of the companion. They're looking for a specific person in that version. I wonder if it's the king. I wonder if the skids are friends with the king, and keep going to Eden to try to save them, and that's why it's an endless cycle. So close yet so far, when their friend is no longer there to be saved (or at least in a way they can be)

Also, I like that the skids have the option to tell their story. The other companion scenario is just them going 'this happened to me'

Okay so I have a question. So a while ago we were having a discussion here about the meditation circles. One of the theories we were discussing is that these circles bring you into a dream like state. Basically what your seeing is not reality. For example: the platforms in the vault that bring you up through it, or the circles we sit in to do our meditation. And my question is; does that mean that since we take portals to go to the home area, when we are there we are in a dream like state?

Imma drop this here after doing the new performance quest, I find it super interesting so here’s my take on it. (Sorry for any grammar mistakes I gtg soon)

The one about the falling star and the lonely child makes it feel like our skykid can tell the stories that we have learned, though it might not be 100% true.
As all stories face aginst time and are retold some details are bound to be changed, or be forgotten. Maybe this is why we have the option to choose between the two dialogue choices, because even our skykid is not entirely sure what happened either, we get murals and hints like prophecy but to our skykid how don’t have acess to the internet they’re probably there wondering and trying to piece everything together on their own.

Ofcorse the quest was to help forgetful storyteller write a story about the isle of dawn, not exactly retelling a moment of history that happened, so I also think our skykid is just having a good ol time writing a play

I like that it kind of proves that all light cycles through the world, each light a piece of Megabird that falls to the ground in the form of a creature of light. When that creature “dies,” the light simply returns to Megabird and becomes new creatures. At least that’s how I interpret it.

I think originally, even if there were no plans yet established on how the early concept Dark Dragons could detect and attack a player, just by looking at the early sketches, it seems as though the first concept that comes to mind about how they could detect and attack a player is through their hearing instead of their eyes, seeing as they have none.

what I find interesting is the line "together they would reunite the stars." if the child here is the skid, then they're accrediting more to Isle Elder. Isle Elder is stuck in their pocket dimension, only appearing elsewhere in Orbit after completing their constellation. at most, they create/summon the bird path that leads them throughout the world to Eden. personally I don't find it much toward "reuniting the stars," but it is helpful, especially to a new skykid.

I think it relates more to how the skid(s) view Isle Elder on an emotional level rather than a practical one. viewing Isle Elder as a friend, a companion along for the journey, even if they're physically apart.

And they show up in piggyback lightseekers memory, helping them to try and restore the light (that last bit is my own interpretation)
