It is really fun to see moth outfits evolve through the seasons, TLP ones were a bit goth-looking with their black capes and cap, while flight ones were really colorful due to the chimesmith outfit being unlockable without AP early on (I think) so the contrast was amusing.

The only issue I can think of with them being baby lightsekeers is that their symbol is different ( instead of ). We do see the assembly scouts wearing that symbol prominently, but not the lightseekers, so it’s possible that the campfire is the symbol for all of lightsekeers though

also there's a bunch of elements in sky (you see them in enchantment) but there's no yellow and it's safe to assume that a yellow element would be pure light. enchantment and prophecy don't show yellow light but in the "catch the light" daily quest you can see a yellow light similar to the other colored ones. i believe the lightseekers worked with that element specifically since it's so powerful that it needs its own crew

We have a leader of Assembly kids, maybe they're the closest to earning the next stage in the role of becoming a full-fledged lightseeker. Botanist and Scold also seem like they are training to become researchers, perhaps to find raw light sources, while Cadet and March seem to be more 'feet on the ground' search training. Bubbles and Chuckle seem like newer recruits.

I think our cast of Seasonal Lightseeker spirits are perhaps notable names and icons in the larger Lightseeker job group. Like when you have famous pilots or adventurers!

I think that's perhaps due to the nature of how seasons were done back in early Live version of Sky. Until Enchantment, all realms had 1 seasonal spirit. But on the other hand, there was not much content.

the forest back then was pretty safe, rainclouds blocked the weather coming from the wastelands, and the realm had an abundance of shelters and passageways so the lightseekers were confident the kids would have plenty of hiding spots should anything happen

the kids held onto the memories of their mentors/guardians being brave against the ever growing darkness and pollution, as they endured it all in the hopes they would come back anytime

i agree with what wander said about the way the early seasons were structured but if you want to think about it lore-wise...
maybe the assembly kids just formed their crew, whereas the lightseekers had been around for a while. the assembly crew were setting up their first base, the treehouse, which they didn't get to finish because of the whole, yknow. dying.
so they scouted forest, getting used to its features and exploring, researching, and just getting a good feel for it before maybe moving on to another realm to do the same. with time, they may have even set up other treehouses or bases in other realms, but they didn't get to that.

In the first forest area, it's just a covered tent with bookshelves and the flag, so a study zone but nothing too elaborated, Botanist probably spends more time outside while Scold is reading to the side of the main path

Marching and Scaredy have a kinda workzone with painted things and so, but it's also very small, and just a cave near to the forest Brook that allows them easy explore access

However! Chuckling and Daydream have a huge tree with beds and outposts and lot of space, a place to hangout and play near the river

I’ve been taking it that since they’re stuck in their pocket dimensions, they don’t have much dominion over what goes on their realms, though they maintain some awareness of what goes on there. Sure, maybe the skykids ask for permission sometimes, but the skykids do their own thing since they’re the ones present and interacting in the world

I’m torn between this explanation (bc it’s the simplest one) and the idea me an vela had where they’re like personifications of their realms, and unconsciously influence the weather (and are influenced by bad weather, disasters, etc) because it would be really cool. Like imagine if the rain in forest was literally the equivalent of them crying, and we helped them by helping the spirits in that realm, repairing the bridge, and summoning some light creatures back

Yea, I think they do have some power over what happens in this world. Forest Elder very likely controls the rain based on their moods, as you said. Isle Elder creates the birds path and Prairie Elder moves the pot over the candles on their altar and summons butterflies. Those are noticeable changes.

The wedges on spirits’ capes is likely a bug since it was never mentioned in the patch notes as an addition.
Spirits also always had light in their chests, in-game and in promos, tho in-game it’s not always obvious if obscured by clothing. This is likely to sure that the ancestors also has inner light though may not be their “flames” as with skykids.

I am nowhere near proficient in the resh lore but i think these r the spots where they actually show up in the game for sure

Here’s my little theory on how the king is all around us

So Eden has the biggest power diamond, it requires so much light, that no manta or light creature could suffice. So this King having the most light and wanting his kingdom to thrive, sacrificing his light to the diamond. Now as time went on the king as per giving up his light became corrupted. Soon as all light was given the diamond imploded or exploded haven’t decided which one yet. The light that the King sacrifice scattered becoming WL, so as we collect WL we slowly gain the image of the king. We may not be the king, but we all hold bits and pieces of him

In Light Awaits, and based on concept art, the King would have been in Eden, fighting a giant dark creature.
The skykid would make their way to the top and try to savw the King, get help fron the Sky Prince and then ascend.

The King could be inspired by Archangel Michael (He Who is as God/He who is Like God)

The used to be placeholder names forthe elders. While they ar eno longer canin, you may hear folks still use them from time to time.

Here is the king fight concept art. Eden was the last realm to be developed before the global release. I have not seen a lot of info about the realm's design, or how the king would look like in the game (aside from forbidden info). So these early concept art was all that I have to work with.

That first one is so BEAUTIFUL but also intense— it’s probably my favorite. The others also seem so telling, setting up a heck of a scene. I also had no idea Eden was the last to be put together before global and I know you said it’s forbidden info—? But does he actually exist in the game or is this like a someone went into the files and they weren’t supposed to?

However the concept work is incredibly fascinating. There don’t happen to be any on the Prince is there? Or where they showcase him/any concept art on him?

The Prince was the least shown based on what I can tell. Either a part of the concept art is kept private, or the Prince had little development.

Take note, as insightful the concept art is, they were made during the time of Light Awaits, the version of Sky before the Global release. These game may share the same theme and content, however have different plots and approaches to the lore in the Sky World. You may notice this when comparing the old timeline to the current. And even recognise assets from the old game in the current one, but now serving a different purpose.

That is also very true. There’s a multitude of reasons I wish to learn more of it, both to understand Sky:Cotl for what it is now and what led it to here. As well to enjoy an interesting look behind to what it once was— I also wanted to make my own stories and string together a happy meld of both, for fun of course. But it would delight me to see and perhaps know someday why things were changed/etc. It’s fascinating to see Sky rise from the ground up and seeing the old assets is both charming but very cool.

This is what I was looking for days about the krill being related to the marble eel.
This is a crop of the Eden ascension section in the colour script in sky.

In short, the marble eel is not its official name, and there was a patch note/dev mention of this being an 'eel like creature.' While I am aware that the concept art does not carry as much weight in the current lore as in the old (Light Awaits) lore, this section does help support the theory that the the creature in its original and large form back then was supposed to ascend with the skykids.
Which means they were the ones that were corrupted in Eden, or at least managed to migrate through there to get to Orbit.

The eel could possibly be the Light counterpart of the Dark Dragons (krill), meaning that the eel is possibly called a Light Dragon.
The current game has changed a lot since Light Awaits. All that remained of this concept of a large flying creature travelling with the skykids is the whale . The purpose of this was to foreshadow Eden's fight.
As the Eden fight did show a hint of the corrupted creature to have a long body, floating fins and eyes at the front.

As for the King Krill - Leviathan in the Treasure Reef, it could may as well be the missing link.
Even if it an elder creature, in the early days of the beta for the season of Abyss, the place holder for the leviathan was the eel in its original size, which is about the the size of the whale (approximately) or the Leviathan. I believe the leviathan was created during this season, unless there is something that shows it was existed in the past like the eel.

It's a little funny to me how instead of removing the little statue and replacing it with two statues for the twins, they just split it in half . I wonder how the twins got split in half, assuming that the statue was built before whatever incident happened

I always thought that the twins aren't actual twins but a single entity just split in half cuz they only had one name from the plans (Samekh) and they had respective horns in which side they are (also probably their mechanical arms in which side they split)

It seemed like very early one the valley elder would have been 1 elder like the other realms. Then when it came to concept art of the elders' designs, the devs have opted for twins to represent the 2 sides of the valley realm. The upper class and the lower class, the acting and the combat, trauma and drama etc.

We're already on the second round of season areas for each realm, so already, Forest, Valley and the Golden Wasteland are off the table, at least for this year.

And considering the teaser for the last season of this year showing Eden, it looks like Vault would follow if I'm somehow right.

Hey, kinda new here. I don’t want to derail the discussion too much, but can anyone explain to be what's the deal with the season guides?

From what I understood in the lore, basically everyone lost their energy or something of the sort, and the sky kids have to help them get to the heavens or something along those lines

But the season guides, not only don't need to have their memories relived like the others, but they also for fade away into the sky when their mission tree is complete

Are they like "alive" the same way our characters are?

my thoughts on that is either the season guides never petrified like the other spirits or they were petrified and reawakened "off screen." either way, they seem to be the first spirits of the season crew the skykids interact with thus prob the ones the skykids orient off of.

iirc Flight guide is the only one who does ascend after the last quest.

don't take my word on this bit but iirc pre-Enchantment seasons, the guide would also ascend with the spirits. seasons were structured differently pre-Enchantment where the "quests" was just finding a newly-released spirit in one of the realms each week.

Some people theorize the season guides stick around to help/watch over us. Most of them are adults who just watched a bunch of babies fulfill their wish, they might be paying us back
Also, there is some evidence to the spirits returning to the kingdom after ascension, so they're not necessarily lonely

The ancestors were possibly trying to find a way to charge their power diamonds.
That or cause the mantas to evolve.

The greater the manta, the more power diamonds are used.
The elder creature at the bottom is now the leviathan because of the size and the locations being similar.

That and the mural shows how the inside used to be dry.

Tebkanlo brought up the idea that the abyss facility might have been them trying to cure the leviathan. Which, if your animal agriculture is turning your animals into weird animal zombies, is probably a study worth investing in, instead of going 'well krills exist now'

There are 2 thoughts I had on that theory —

1. would the mantas trapped there, the ones we have to be, be idk corrupted on purpose to see if they could reverse it and find a cure? I can’t think of any other reason why healthy mantas would be there, and how they’d get diamonds out of it
2. Mantas -> diamonds mural would be a bit weirder and harder to explain in this context

Part of the idea of it being a treatment facility for the leviathan/krills is the idea that it was like a wild animal hospital thingy as a whole. I forget what they're called.
Though it's possible the mantas were there as a living power source/test subjects

What color is the skykids’ skin? In base-game pants it’s more of a clay-brown, and in rhythm pants, yeti and maskless it’s more black. Is it like.. magic color changing?

As you noticed, it seems skykids’ skin changes color depending on what they’re wearing, though it’s always a dark color. I’m thinking that whatever color light their outfits project as can glow upon their dark skin, making it take on the hue of their outfits but not actually changing the color of their skin.

FOMO is when you gotta check regularly on the game because cosmetics can get really limited once their season is over and won't show up after a while if you miss the TS to get them. Can get frustrating on the long run.

Yea Sky doesn’t feel like a game worth collecting every item for completion’s sake. It’s chill. You can buy what you want, look however you want, and just vibe. The game doesn’t push you, just says you can.
Sure there’s the Elder hairs for 100% their constellations but you can do that whenever. All my constellations are at 60-80% cos I don’t really care for it.
