Ok so back to lore, or at least "lore", what fun stuff do you think there is to do in Valley ? The race is iconic of the realm, but we also know performers are plentiful, and with them come all the other jobs around entertainment (organisers, hosts, stagehands and so on), and we know ice skating must have been pretty popular as well.
Perhaps there were ancestors that could afford instructors to teach them how to ride a manta ? Or, since there were probably a LOT of ancestors with money to spend, maybe there were HUGE marketplaces where you could buy wares from all over the kingdom...

I feel like Isles were sacred ground tbh. Like we got the cave to start off. Then the candle maker, and this spirit who may or may not have witnessed a Sky child fall to the ground.
Then the Trials. Literally the area calls it the "Cave of Prophecy" and to "Beware the ancient trials" The trials were something serious, those who participated probably died trying to complete them due to the "no spells or items" rule (Fire Trial definitely killed the most)
Also, it's barren as heck. Like, Daylight Prairie wasn't this barren, there's more stuff in it, it's bigger but not entirely a city (was probably a small town or village with a resort (Sanctuary Islands))
But Isles.... Literally nothing but a cave with a candle maker, a floating island that may or may not be storage for candles or for the temple, the Trials, and a cave of prophecy that talks about a Child of Light.

I have to wonder just how much the people in valley used mantas to get around. Like how common was the boat setup in village of dreams — would they just use mantas instead most of the time? Are there manta stables? Manta trainers?

We don't actually know how efficient dark stone was. Its been hundreds of years probably, so any we get to mess with has had time to fall apart with disuse and environmental damage.

Like, the assembly spirits admired the actual scout organization for their bravery and knowledge of Forest, and adopted their symbol and leftover materials (like maps) in hopes to emulate them because they knew they’d need those traits to survive

maybe they interact with an actual scout spirit for guidance but they petrify one day and the assembly scouts don’t know what to do, so they just patrol the area around it when they can and keep it safe from danger… until they petrify as well.

I am hopefully soon going to start animating, or at least digitally drawing, scenes for an animated sky for verse I wanna make. I'm also making it be as close to lore accurate as I think it can be, while also adding in my own stuff within the empty spaces I find. To begin with, I'll be separating the story into different parts based on characters, which means each part can have overlap at some points, providing many different perspectives of certain scenes. The character stories can range from chill, like the engineer that plans to reinvent power diamond technology to be a lot safer for everything, to darker tones, like the vault desert(specifically a place I made up called the Twilight Dunes) wanderer that has lost their memories, personality, etc, and themselves and everyone that knew them has to live with the fact that the original person they knew will never exist anymore, to tragic and traumatic, like Nellie...........

Their cape/cloak is blue. Their hat has a blue ribbon. Their nails are painted blue. Their dress underneath is beige in part cos it’s a color that doesn’t detract from the blue uniform expected of lightseekers and in part cos it’s the same color as skykids’ default clothes

I was already mentioning that they could be trying to figure out a way to prevent access even with a simple Chibi fall. For those who didn't know, people were able to glitch into the treasure reef early.

I think that adding an in-game timer on it where the barrier for taking you to the actual area is literally unreachable, 10,000 miles behind 2000 wind barriers, and in the location of the seasonal entrance is a barrier that takes you to a troll room that's located right beneath the entrance, and then after the count down the barriers get swapped, would probably work. But I don't know how difficult that is to code in.

The only thing that sounds difficult to me personally would be the timer. The rest seems like moving about already existing assets.

The troll room could be a hollow sphere with a bunch of spirits and petrified skids and a few elders having a party with some light creatures and a friendly silent krill and Friendly crabs. Y'know, keeping it simple.

The TLP spirits are, like their book counterparts, meant to be satires of adults in the eyes of children (you could draw a parallel with skids and ancestors).

I find them tragic in that they are all litterally shackled, but while it may come from personal shortcomings (vanity for gloat, for example), others look like circumstances didn't do them favors (like soldier and alcoholism) or even gave them close to no agency in what shackled them (such as lamplighter, which hits close to home in this society).

However, there are no butterflies that I know of in Shipwreck - unless the krill ate all of the butterflies and ate the jars too, there is no evidence of creatures being shipped to other continents

The fact skykid can breathe (or the flame they carry needs air at least) was a theory that can be outright confirmed thanks to the new mechanic, whereas it had to the be deduced in the past.

It is very interesting to see what an artist has done in the process of making the final painting.
It is sort of like being able to sneak peeks at the workbook, while we get to enjoy the final artwork hanging on the wall. If you know what I mean.

We do have to keep in mind that these are concept art from circa 2017-2018, and that these were for Sky: Light Awaits. When the global release made some major changes, Sky: Children of the Light deviated from the 'saving the King' to guide the spirits home plot and focused more on the spirits themselves and their relationship with the skykids.

A very good example of this is the tale of the Eel in the Abyss season area, Treasure Reef
(I'll recount the tale in a moment)

of course there were major changes between the plot then and the plot now, but the reason the concept art is so important to loreists is so that we can get a grip on the creator's thinking process, and to see which ideas made it in

The marble eel us skykids see in Treasure Reef holds a secret. (The one that leaves a trail of blue bubbles)
While the other aquatic creatures introduced in the season are new to the game, the eel had once existed in Light Awaits.
The eel was last been documented to be in Dawn. Where in the earlier version of the realm had much more content than just a blank beach and distant temple. The old Dawn was much larger, where skykids arrive on a beach, traverse the shoreline to a cave, explore it and once on the other side, discover the temple in the distance. Then the Skykid would climb the cliff that is riddled in ancient ruins, meet the elder, and as a ferryman would help skykids reach the next area by boat.
It was at this point where the eel could be seen in old gameplay videos. It was as large (if not larger) than the whale and would make a brief appearance as it flies through the clouds.

According to 'Tomcepts,' the eel may have been used to foreshadow what Would have happened in Eden.
(the devs made a joke at the very start of lore chat with this and wanted to pay homage to them for inspiring skykids to look at the lore)

In Light Awaits, Eden was not fully developed (to the best of my knowledge), so part of the final area was missing a major component that the old lore was building up to, but never fully revealed (again to the best of my knowledge, as this is based more on concept art than ingame content).

The old Eden would have had the King fighting a giant corrupted creature. Which could have been the eel, if not a similar ginormous creature.

But Alas, as the game neared global release, the Dawn island was changed to what we see today (excluding the light seeker temple, the island with the boogie kid from season of belonging supposedly, and the cave of prophecies). The King was removed (at least the fight is) and parts of the Light Awaits lore was retconned to what we have in the current game.

There is another video where it shows in a later update, the creature was replaced with a whale, then removed entirely when Dawn changed.

Because of the whale, I think the whale in the current game replaced the eel's role of foreshadowing the ending, as we see it in other realms making brief appearances in a similar way than what the concept art shows.

Another sparrow constellation is in the valley's citadel !

These are leftovers from light awaits that triggered something like a chase memory (like the manta call one) where you had to gather light to summon an animal spirit.

Back in Light Awaits, the thoughtful director was once considered to be a non-season spirit of the Hidden Forest (it was called Rain back then). The spirit was moved to the Season of Rhythm and the room was left alone.

The room was originally meant to have 4 spots for skykids to meditate on, then the door opens to release the spirit.
I dont know what else was there or what changed. The room is there though and you can access it, but cannot leave unless you know how to glitch back out. You can always go Home when you are done in there.
