The rebirth theory is that the spirits are also reborn (in a manner of speaking. they're still spirits), and come back down to continue 'living' their lives like normal people. So basically sky kids and spirits live together in the ruined kingdom. Stuff like being able to relive their memories multiple times is thought to merely be gameplay convenience for players

I would like to propose a possible unit of measurement for Sky. Ya know when you deep honk and you go down but you don't let the deep honk happen and your leg slides forward as if you're doing a lunge? I propose that instead of feet like on planet earth, each of these steps be called a 'honk'. Thus, an island could measure 20 honks.

in my ficverse, Isle Elder's exile saved their life in the end because of they were away from the Eden cataclysm, so they were the last Elder alive. however they were already trapped in their pocket dimension. the ancestors kept them alive via light offerings, but as the ancestors died out, so did they, and they were powerless to stop it.

In all seriousness, all of you are choosing the wrong route with protecting the moths as much as possible from any possible danger. Are you going to hold their hand all the way through Eden? Will they have to call you every time they want to go through wasteland? Boring. Teach them how to deal with krills by heading through graveyard, which has the highest risk but the most places to hide. Go through shipwreck as well — if you don’t show them a way through all the locations, they’ll find their way there anyways and get lost.

Go through graveyard, krill demonstration here, go through shipwreck, head to the temple. show them how to use those big spears while you’re at it

That said, some can say that this is actual food that skykids can eat. Or, it is a product of magic and therefore the food is imaginary.

Frankly, I enjoy seeing the tea set as it gives players something to play with. Their skykids can now have a tea party and there does not have to be an exact reason as to why or how it came to be.
Most days of events are like that in any case. And that does it, I am making myself some tea and lunch.

Unlike stereotypical spirits, Sky spirits are still bound by earthly physics, thus removing the most fun part of being a ghost.

They are ghosts, they can walk, talk, fly, disappear and reappear at will.
It might not be a matter if a spirit can or cannot do something per say, but rather whether the individual knows that they can do these things.

For example, while it is likely a bug in the game, some spirit animations do leave them floating in the air.
I am not talking about misplaced floating spirits, but ones like the blushing spirit has a little swooping animation, as well as the other female spirit in the ceremonial spirit (raise candle), and the shivering spirit does it too. They are small moments of them floating as a ghost would do, but they are full body apparitions, which means they can walk around on the ground.
Perhaps the spirits try to act as normal as they did in life instead of doing more ghost things.
Which works out well with them being more friendly and less likely to be scary to kids.

Think of it like Casper choosing to walk around when he is near people and choosing to fly and go through walls if he has to, or knows the people he is with would be fine with it.

The quests would be the skykid teaching manners and lessons, which the ghost kids eventually warm up to. Then the final quest is them being grateful and thanking the skykid, then the guide gives the skykid a gold star as a cosmetic.

Canonically the spirits 'don't care about gender', but in practice it just means 'players can decide what they want the spirits to be for themselves' (However, not caring about gender and just plain not having them as a concept are different things)

There is a difference between gender as self expression and identity, and gender roles. I think the don't care about the latter, and actually use the former (However, the human concept of gender doesn't necessarily apply to them since they're aliens with a foreign culture)

Although biologically or at least behaviorally, the ancestors do seem to have a concept of gender roles, as we see through some of the spirit quests, with "child" spirits very closely linked to a larger feminine spirit, suggesting the existence of maternalism.

The way the spirits like guides and the light seekers are so willing to hug and cuddle us tells us that mothers weren't the only ones to have a large part in raising children. It suggests a 'it takes a village' approach I think. Interacting with children was normal for adults maybe

A king would mean a male ruler, where as a queen would be the female equivalent.
One can include the season of belonging cast, whereas there is the grandma, grandpa, 2 parents that have male and female appearances (as in a moustache and a dress to represent the mother and father), and so on.

While some spirits may have a debate about if their gender, their gender identity and so on.
The game is open to debate, after all. And with that skykids can choose to interpret and accept either stance on that matter, while accepting that other players may digress.

There was a study where people looked at the brain activity of elephants and studied the reactions they had when looking at things.
They concluded that when an elephant sees a human, the reaction in the brain is similar to that of a human looking at a puppy. In other words, elephants think people are cute.

Applied to Sky, I can imagine the elders looking at skykids would also give them the puppy feels.

I heard it used to have a lot of water but not necessarily submerged underwater. Right when you crash land in Golden Wasteland, you can see really tall pillars. For me, that itself is already a sign that the first part of GW used to have water several feet above the sand that we stand on now. The pillars were tall because if the water were still there, its size would have looked reasonable as most of the pillars would be submerged in the water
