It is a really interesting idea that a sized up version of the eel we see in abyss becomes the krill [I think that might be what you’re trying to get at?] because as far as I know, the amount of limbs and eyes fits, as well as general shape. I do have to wonder whether the placeholder model was chosen for similarity reasons like this, or just because it was a similar size.

Guys I manage to finally zoom into Backstory that was provided in the concept art. I am gonna post each individual image. It was mind blowing to read.🤯
Huh. Neat.
Note to self: look at these later
I feel like season of flight guide is a bit like the ||ferryman ancestor|| eh? With the way their boats travel between different lands and circle around
Wow, these are so cool!
I feel like I’ve been blessed with knowledge right now
I guess the idea of Ferryman Ancestor was scratched from the final version, since skykids aren't brought to the kingdom by anyone in particular
all sky kids are unsupervised and I live for it
unsupervised arson children
Where is this screenshot from, exactly?
I feel like if I realized a disaster had come upon the world and I needed to solve it, my ideal solution would not be to send thousands of unsupervised, borderline unbreakable children with the ability to light things on fire at will to fix it
I beg to differ
The only reason forest hasn’t been burnt down yet is because of the rain
As one of those children,
Prepare for another disaster
Ah, add that to the list super secret sky kid meeting attendants
- Flood valley
- Fire to the forests
Megabird is just patting itself on the back for that one.
Me, dressed in the oversized robes of the forest elder: I need the… the… the fire.. power…(prophecy this time, not orange light)
Wasteland elder: …,but why?
Me: to… prevent… forest fires….
One must harness the fire to control it
Wasteland elder:
…
Ye ok
full proof plan coming along again
In all seriousness, I do get the reasoning behind each of the specific attributes skykids get over what I think ancestors were like. The problem is, the product is the Unbreakable Arson Child mentioned above, and I really feel like some foresight should have gone into that decision before it was actually made
‘Unbreakable arson child’ is the funniest and most amazing description of a sky kid I’ve ever heard
That's why making them good hearted by nature is such an important part. As you said, they're nigh unkillable balls of flame. Giiving them anything but a perfect sense of morality would end horribly.
Are there like… idk… product reviews for skykids?
Imagining a one star review written like “this small child FELL FROM THE SKY and immediately started running around and setting my ENTIRE REALM on fire. I had to cause a massive rainstorm in order to put it out. To make matters worse, when they got caught, they just started SCREAMING INCESSANTLY in my direction. If I could give them zero stars I would. Who thought this was a good idea”
is this directed at me—
It feels like it’s directed at me-
"But they are super cute. So, five stars it is."
Skykids are like cats. All their crimes get excused due to their cuteness.
Sky kid version of baby jail is a stone room
no fire
Thats the thing, in the light awaits, I was watching videos of the game and apparently you got from the isle of dawn to the daylight praire with a boat given to you by the elder of dawn!!!!
Okay that’s adorable. Why did it get changed?? I mean they still give us birds but not the same
You can find alot of concept art in the pinned messages.
Some concept art and story resources!
I found this image amongst concept art here:
Tom Zhao's website!
I dont know but the isle of dawn looked alot cooler in the video and I am sad I didnt get to experience it for myself. Second hand wonder will have to do

And you know the pet bird that follows you in the seasonal area of the season of flight! Yeah well aparent in the light aways a bird actually guided you through the realms. Or at least it did in dawn. I havent finnished the video...and I cant believe they didnt keep that!?!?!

The bird that guided you here looks like the bird on head cosmetic you get from light whisperer !
Another nod to LA from Flight
Now in regards to the backstory I found who on earth is this Shaman Ansestor who helped the Sky Prince unearth the darkstones in the forbbidden forest???
Also, I have no clue how to add a spoiler to a specific peice of text....
a lot of these "Shaman Ancestor" or "Ferryman Ancestor" or "Warrior Ancestor" are now just known as the Elders. so Ferryman is Isle Elder and Warrior is Wasteland Elder.
"Shaman" implies a religious figure, which appearance-wise could be Vault Elder. though they did find darkstone in the forest, so could be Forest Elder, but they seem more like a blacksmith rather than a religious leader.

Hmm makes sense. Maybe the rest of that LA video meantiones it. Imma gonna keep watching.
though even is LA the Elders were Elders. it's probable a lot of the events in Zhao's timeline are not canon even in LA
Just two sky kids in a trench coat, the top one has the elder hair and the mask
I feel like the golden wasteland elder either wouldn’t see through it or would just go with it because they are entirely amused by it
They’d go with it
“You’re Looking a little different today”
“….haircut”
shaman is either forest or vault iirc
At one point he just unstacks the skids and helps them anyways
And one of the Skids is still wearing the coat and just letting it drag across the floor.
He makes it so they’re unsuccessful (telling Teth “hey some of the candle spirits are trying to burn forest keep a heavy rain on standby”) but he still helps them out
Strategy
I think skids would be called candle spirits, look at us we hoard candles and are presumably made of wax with flame inside. Heck we can materialize a candle out of thin air and light stuff on fire with it
I've heard "candlefolk"
jokes on wasteland elder. I’m going for valley first
I OOVE CANDLE SPIRTS
I picture the red candles being made of light alone and only sky kids can make them (to burn stuff, interact with each other) while the white ones are the wax we collect since those are the ones we trade and place
The more popular local names for each one vary from stuff like “Mochi” to “Rat child the twenty-second”
my sky kids name is ‘avid bird watcher’ because its really the vibe they constantly give off
No I mean the nicknames the spirits would give
Everyone seems to have a different idea on what skykids are made of on the outside. Wax and clay is super common, I personally think it’s charcoal. Wondering what everyone’s take on this is?
Ah, in that case it’s probably ‘anarchist kid’
I just like the idea of them being wax lol
They would totally get nicknamed after birds
And also “Rat child who stole my shoes”
“This is my sky kid blue jay. They get mad if you get to close to their space”
Sky kid aggressively honking at the elder standing close to them:
(since blue jays are territorial—)
“don’t mind them. That’s just hummingbird. They fly backwards. We’re mildly concerned.”
“We named that one raven because they’ve mimicked our speech and scared us half to death”
I know names for birds that are banned in this server and just chuckling
I’m beginning to lean towards the headcanon of skykids not really using names for each other because they think super visually instead of in words, meaning they just use appearance for one another or don’t care too much in differentiation. This would mean all their names are given to them by spirits/elders
But,.. my issue with it is that even though it’s a cute idea, we can change our appearance basically on a whim so I don’t know if it would make sense
Edit: I may have mentioned it before but my skykid is named Bluebird
Wait I know exactly what entire catagory of bird you’re talking about
Is it the category chickadees belong to or is it something else
I have a headcanon that skykids, after sharing their flames, can recognize each other instantly regardless of appearance. That may help yours
our sky kids would get along if they’re a bird person
Mines based on a blue jay
Their actual clothes and cape are different than the ones in game though—
Oh like instantly recognizing their flame signature kind of thing… I may steal this
awww what if sky kids have specific honks for things like greetings or peoples ‘names’
Like how certain expressions have certain sounds!! Like laughing!
I still stand by my headcanon that Isle Elders names all the moths using the naming conventions of the ancestors. Not many change their names but shorthand nicknames are common — Sututaós is “Taós,” Jotoko is “Jo”
What if they start making different honks in rapid succession and with differing pitches in order to express certain things… yknow like birdcalls
That’s so cute
You just hear some chibi spamming the crab call
Summons every chibi in the vicinity
A Chibi can hear a Crab call from over three miles away.
I feel like if skykids were birds they would be crows. Smart, social, curious, learn things easily, like puzzles, likes and collects pretty things, call that is one singular sound instead of many complex ones [“caw!”]
Now imagine: a group of skykids chasing around a krill and honking at it loudly, like what crows do with birds of prey
There are people dodging krills for fun, they would
It’s why we’re only allowed 8 per server 😞 devs know we’re too strong
Wait imagine like storm spotter skids. Weatherman sky children where they just fly out in groups to see if there’s any storms nearby
I’d get sucked into a hurricane—
All part of the job!
A group of skykids who scout stormy areas like wasteland, forest, and Eden daily to mark down storm patterns and make it easier for others to avoid them when traveling through. Maybe they’d even chart wind direction, speed and temp (if they have the tools) to make flying easier… I feel like the wind paths would probably have some weather measurement tools so they could start there
How many bots would a skybot bot if a skybot could bot bots?
Sky kid, soaking wet and shivering: it’s a little rainy today
Standing in Valley with half of their body frozen: Just a bit nippy, everyone.
Getting sucked into wasteland halfway through: it’s heckin wIMDY—
That’s what my Wasteland Navigators do — they’re trained to keep track of weather patterns and move skykids away from incoming storm clouds. In my ficverse, the Storm varies in intensity as well as multiplied by weather patterns. The Wasteland is more vulnerable to those changes
I really like the idea of different skykids living in different locations other than Home and doing relevant stuff to those locations. I very much wish we got that choice in game.
Imagining the weather charting skykids mentioned above just living together in wind paths, where they’re able to go to each realm to measure them easily, and having a bunch of maps they mark and record stuff down on. I mean, they spend so much time in the air that weather has to be important info, right?
Standing in isle absolutely plastered in sand and dust: Mild sand storm today people
Man I hope we get like aviator goggles and an old pilot hat in sky
And maybe a cape with fur around the collar like those old pilot jackets!
Vault… indoors: I don’t know what you guys are talking about the weathers pretty good
I want this as a cosmetic
The kids in vault examine the weather in starlight desert
I like to imagine that it’s possible on some level for skykids to absorb bits of the enchantment/proph lights into their own lights and get their powers. If so I feel like anyone wanting to measure the weather would go for cyan light, giving them small control over air currents so they don’t get blasted around during storms.
I just think this entire idea is really cute Honeslrh
I put it in wishlist
what sky kid stays on the first floor—
We do have Lively Navigator’s hairstyle
The skids trying to get four people together for the door
I need his head feathers
as soon as I mentioned scouting wasteland and then saw that you were typing… I knew what was coming…
I guess they just really like that tree in the sand.
Yeah, I got lively navigator’s hair but it’ll be awhile until that traveling spirit
i had a thought and then a big fluffy dog went by and I lost it—
On a different note guys I just saw a massive fluffy Boi
share the fluffy
Big golden retriever fella with a purple bandana
Yessssssssss bandanas on dogs is the bomb diggity
Idea: the flight spirits’ head feathers aren’t adornments for them. They just have those naturally. Maybe they’re like… werebirds or something idk
No that's rhythm guide
flight guide has super fluffy ears???
P e t s
Every time the full moon rises they undergo a horrifying transformation into… a bird
Also ennarcia: it’s both of them
They look pretty much the same in their bird form, apart from the beak.
I DRAW FLIGHT GUIDE WITH BIRD FEATHER EARS THINGS, bird swag
Okay how about some writing?
I haven’t typed this one up.
context: skykids Amander and Zadercaf, bold from their first fighting lesson with the Valley Elder(s), decide to trek the Wasteland together. unfortunately the vortex yeeted them someplace they don't recognize.
Plot twist: the big bird in the rhythm cutscene was flight guide this entire time.
I like to imagine instead of massive bird forms, though, it’s like… a parrot or something
Light whisperer IS the bird on our heads
Bold of Alasdair to think I can read (But dude your handwriting is gorgeous)
I can sort of read handwriting but I have a headache and do not want to squimp at the moment, I will save reading it for later
I have respect and fear for anyone who writes their writing out before typing it
being forced to write in cursive for all of elementary school does the trick
Man they just failed us if we couldn’t write in cursive
I can't read cursive
Like it's pretty but god is it awful in a functional way
SAIT NEVERMIND I CAN READ IT
Zapfino cursive like 1700s English handwriting is basically illegible.
Question. Did anyone that was forced to learn cursive…ever actually need to use it later on beyond signatures and stuff?
nope

||i can still only do my name ||
Oooh I love the way you write dialogue… is the storm being moody a personification of a natural process (like how humans will sometimes call irl storms moody even if they’re… storms) or is it based on the elders’ emotions Or the general emotion of the area like some people headcanon the forest rain to be
my current signature is half in cursive cos I only learned to write my deadname in cursive tho my surname is the same
I literally jusr write Salem with a cat drawn next to it for my signature. I don’t even use cursive for that.
discord: hey you have a notification
Me: where???
Discord:
Yeah, cursive is good for helping to develop unique signatures, but beyond that it's just so useless
I remember having to write journals about a prompt written on the board in english, and they were written in cursive. I misread the prompt and didn't realize till other people were reading the right one out loud. I had to make something up on the spot, because saying 'I can't read cursive' would have gotten me chewed out by the teacher and mocked by the other kids because I got chewed out by the teacher
Oh on a different note than cursive—
I’m gonna make a webcomic based on sky
hey fellas, do you think the spirits are aware of what awaits us in the end
I feel like it depends on the spirit in question. For example, most vault spirits may have some idea, but most of them might not
I always got the vibe that vault elder knows
Or instead of them just knowing what we’re supposed to do, they somehow realize that we are going to Eden, and maybe they know it’s a corrupted wasteland
Agreed. I’m sure those spirits might want to warn us, but they can’t. Either they’re literally unable to tell us or they’re just not supposed to for whatever reason. Probably because we might not go if we knew what was out there.
My theory is the people of sky would go through eden to ‘ascend’ ||(die)|| but after it’s corruption they didn’t want to risk not making it and got stuck relieving a single memory of their life until a sky kid helps guide their spirit
Amander describes it as "moody" because that's how Indunir, who was training them at the time, described it. the why of the Storm's fluctuations wasn't important in their training at the time and you read that Amander hadn't completed their training yet, so they don't know (they have ~1.5 months of training and things got derailed with the discovery of Treasure Reef). at that point, it was important that they knew the Storm changed and moved the clouds, maybe the vortex throwing them at different points.
I mentioned before that the Storm clouds can change due to typical weather patterns. as for why the vortex may yeet skids to different parts of the Wasteland, I haven't figured that out yet.
So they know of eden but they’re not a really conscious self and more a spirit who failed to move on
The kid flying is so funny to me for no reason— their little blank expression and pose—
my heart aches
I feel that spirits from post-Eden calamity may know but those from earlier in the timeline may not because to them, there never was an Eden calamity
Wait… do you think WE know what we’re in for? Like do we feel a consistent pull towards Eden, and look at the horizon at how destroyed it is and go this can’t be good but it’s my job? Do skykids slowly realize just by traveling through the realms that Eden is the center of the storm and probably the worst part? At what point do they decide they need to go to Eden, and at what point do they realize that it can’t end well?
I always headcanoned vault elder told us in their cutscene what would happen, but we went through with it anyways
We’re arson children. We know it or not fire child wants anarchy
tbh, on my first run, I didn't know what was coming. I knew we were getting closer to Eden, but Eden was a bright shining beacon. it looked glorious. I didn't read Eden as a bad thing.
then I got put in the derelict final floor of the Vault, looked at the lightning and thunder, told I would lose winged light by proceeding, and noped out of there for two weeks
The concept art sealed the deal for me with the death and rebirth cycle
I noped out for two years
Yes, I did learn, I can read and write in cursive. And yes I do use it often. Mostly in reading but also in writing. Especially if I wanna write something that I don't particularly want others to ready easily, cause I'm evil. Also, if i wanna read any of my recently passed great grandmothers recipes, especially her famous trifle...well I have to be able to read handwriting.
Here is a sample of mine.
Understandable.
No: but I can make a pretty dope signature
I didn’t really think about the first time, I was just like “oh cool new area! Let’s go in”
this is what I wrote of the Original Eight – the first 8 skykids born in my ficverse – deciding to pursue Eden after awakening Vault Elder, who would persumably have warned them. though I write this as though it were a mythology since the Original Eight are seen as legendary, so it's unknown why they went to Eden the first time. but they decided to go back to save their lost sibling.
Same
I think the first time I went in was the same, only when I started getting pushed back by the wind I immediately left and decided I wanted more Winged.
i'd like to point out that a) the realms are based off stages of life and b) eden gets progressively clearer as you go through the levels, with the clouds blocking its view in forest and wasteland, both miserable realms that represent a stage of confusion and hopelessness (teenagehood and midlife crisis).
maybe they know that although terrifying, the storm isnt the end
A lot of my friends joined sky recently and it was really funny guiding all of them because they were all wildly different—
I don’t think I registered what was happening until I was almost dead. I was in the back of PNR like “wait… this isn’t a realm… where’s the temple…”
one friend refused to go through wasteland without me (also brings another friend with em everywhere)
Another kept purposely running INTO krills
The other is very confused all the time and is never sure where they are
person who helped me through wasteland led me through eden with a shortcut and told me not to worry if i lose all my wl lmaooo
[entering Eden] WAIT A MINUTE. this isn’t mcdonalds
Lol, you went through the shortcut for your first time?
sorta recently led a couple moths through Eden. in stormlock one was giving winged light, the other wasn't. they both died early long before me and followed me (I had way more winged light than them) as spirits. the one who hadn't been giving away winged light never ascended.
I avoided eden for 2 months. Completed all my constellations up to the eden candles. All because of fear. As a result, I completly lost out on the season of assembly that was going on. I wish someone told me
On my third time through eden someone grabbed my hand and I panicked so hard because I barely knew what I was doing-
Best part was when we got seen by a krill because I started jumping left, right, left, right etc. and managed to dodge it by jumping to the side when it attacked
that person probably thought I knew what I was doing
(Grabbed my hand for me to guide them by the way, not the other way around)
We love how old people can use telekinesis!
I glitched in a moth thru eden recently. I was going for the lights with some friends, and this lone person was following us. I felt bad about leaving them behind, so I kind of half panicked and just went 'here is candle, behold the glitch'
Like, I hope it wasn't their first time, but they didn't seem to have an issue with it
i didnt want to be a bother either and ask for the vanilla run LMAO
im a strict vanilla run enjoyer, totally not because i cant navigate eden while flying
it DID make the second run of eden not boring because i kinda got to explore !
Any flight or abyss moth notice the birds going through the tunnel from the entrance of the second eden map yet ?
a capeless moth led me through Wasteland my first time.
fun fact: I made a character based off them.
I guess when you just reach that age you become enlightened and unlock all sorts of powers.
I’m very bad at shortcuts in eden
I like to imagine it’s this, because it’s happier.
But what if they relate it to how they’ve seen death affect spirits - essentially trapping them in place for years in their own memories, sometimes even destroying them entirely via darkness - and start panicking because they think the same thing is about to happen to them… but by the time they realize they’re about to die, they’re already trapped in stormlock
I have a run through eden on video where I got sucked into the ground and beheld the forbidden inside of the rocks
I still can’t get over wasteland being the midlife crisis realm, it kills me everytime
Me too.. imagine going on a candle run or something and saying “be right back guys I need to go have a midlife crisis real quick”
“Gonna buy a sports car and drive it all the way to Eden.”
Moments later: “I am in immense debt but they will never discover my rebirthed identity”
wondering why stormlock is stormlock and the point of no return. they can't just, yknow, turn around and get the heck outta dodge?
The WR for mid-life crisis is 3 minutes and 18 seconds! (Yes it’s true)
Maybe the Storm pulls them in? But I think that another reason is that they obligate themselves to save the WL statues, so that they don’t chicken out
Isn’t darkness known to trap things? Maybe it somehow does the same thing to us… as soon as we step in the door, the trap closes around us and we can no longer escape
tbh this is one of those things where I think stormlock is just to trap us as players, and yeah the kids could just leave
But they won't, because that's not who they are
All I picture with the words ‘darkness trapping us’ is:
“You know what… HÖNK you” (petrifiesyour spirit)
SOS I can’t spell
I guess so, the dark stones/darkness absorbs light. It trapped the King in the storm, why shouldnt it trap us too.
honk you [unlights your creature]
Like, I know 'it really is just a game mechanic' can seem like a cop out, but this one specifically still plays into lore. The kids are really just like that.
One thing I dont understand is, if Dawn is birth, then why did they change it so that we are reborn at home. The LA we were reborn in Dawn and started the game in dawn then got access to homespace. I dont understand why they changed it .
that's what I've been thinking too – perhaps the skykids first tried reawakening the petrified skids with their flames as with the petrified spirits, but when that didn't work, used their winged light, saw that it seemed to do something, and continued charging on to save the rest.
goes back to this:
I believe the futility we face in Eden is one of skykids' own making. Whatever skykids were originally supposed to do in Eden is up to debate, yet they aren't strong enough to make it far without dying. Skykids could just buff themselves up with light and charge on past their fellow peers' corpses to get to the center, but they have such a love for each other that they can't help but give up their own light to save their petrified friends, weakening themselves so they will ultimately succumb to the darkness in the point of no return. This leaves more bodies for other skykids to save, weakening themselves in turn, dying, and sustaining the cycle.
I do think this is a game mechanic as well that represents our skykids personalities. Maybe the WL [or their personalities] is compelling them so hard to stay there that they just can’t imagine leaving
Maybe it’s like the wasteland entrance? Pulled into it but you can’t get back out of it
I don't want to think it's the light or some higher power. I just like thinking 'yeah, the kids are pretty darn selfless, and it's not fair that they have to do this, but they do, because they're the only ones who can and they know this'
i wanna touch the diamond and so i think at least a sliver of skykids motivation is “i wanna touch the diamond”
Isn't the diamond much farther away than it looks?
Oh! In spirit memories we never see anyone fly! In fact even the ceasing spirit climbs regardless of the cape
We also never see cape stars on spirits capes
Maybe they CANT do anything with winged light and the sky kids realize they are the only ones who can free the fallen in eden
The true lore is just that their crow brain sees shiny diamond and wants to take it. disaster ensues
I saw a cool youtube video on somwone in the eye of eden. It accidently glitched and they walked right up to it.....it wasnt anything special. But the rock rain completly stopped and they got to get a really good look at the design of the area.
I have a thing in my ficverse where skykids who collect winged light will, from time to time, feel a "call" to Eden. some can resist it, some cannot. it's sourced from the fact that every skykid has gone to Eden at least once and knows there are many there waiting petrified. that and their compassionate nature obligates them to go.
this is also the source of one of my protag's Eden trauma.
this is also why there are capeless skids who don't have winged light. they don't want to go. they don't want to feel the call, the obligation. the terror of Eden overwhelms them.
we were made with crow brains on purpose so that we’d be attracted to glowing spirits and candles
There is an idea that the kids were never supposed to go to Eden, and tbh it's tragic as heck. They saw this big issue and went 'is there any way I can help' and now they're trapped in a cycle trying to fix a problem that they were never meant to solve.
don’t call my crow brained self out like that
Oh could you imagine the Eden angst if when we entered, there was some kind of idk curse placed on the area meant to compel us away from it, but we see other petrified skykids and can’t NOT help them
The sky kids' desire to be kind is stronger than anything Eden can throw at them
I have played around with the headcanon that we can leave WL in places if we try hard enough as gifts for others, and that the ones right before you enter stormlock are gifts by more experienced players to help us prepare, but it kind of conflicts with my idea on how WL works. Maybe someone else can use it
Throws winged light at a capeless moth
Let’s not forget the fact that giving the winged light looks PAINFUL
The sky kids literally rip it out of themselves??
Not to mention how they start stumbling and going slower as they tear out more of it
I think giving it away themselves is much worse for them than losing it to a krill or something
Giving it away themselves lets them remain lit though, unlike krills which extinguish their personal light.
Yes but they still strain as they pull it out. The little animation they do bent over and tugging hard always urks me
Well it’s easier to break things off rather than rip things out
vid of my skid tearing out winged light: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Don't get me wrong, I'm totally on board the 'it hurts' train, but it's highly amusing to look at it like they just have to dig a light out because it's deeper than their main light
I imagine it hurts less to have a sudden impact and get some winged light broken off
They just have to stick their hand in there and rummage around like “flame… flame… cool rock I found and kept… piece of orange light I stole… OH! WL! Finally”
Is that where all those spells I have are—
They have to rummage around and match the WL to the statue so it takes them a few seconds
What would happen if we stuck a piece of darkstone inside ourselves? Would it just give us extra light storage space because they work like batteries? I need to know
I think it would be a constant drain
King speed run
you’re right I can’t do that again
Hikemasu crying in the distance
maybe we should try it just for science purposes
I mean I’d be willing to try it
speaking of which—
Bout to go through eden, you guys need anything?
Yeah can you get me a cheeseburger while you’re there?
same
Can you get some fries for me?
Crab or krill?
Say “AYO the pizza here” when you die
And send a screenshot
Hmmm… crab
alright so that’s…
2 crab cheeseburgers
Fries
And “ayo the pizza here”
that all fellas?
bring me a cool rock
Does a glowing red one work?
Ennarcia please. Collecting cool rocks caused this whole apocalypse
It's worth it
I’m gonna eat the shiny red rocks on my way
Snack for the road
Fun fact they taste like cherries
Me: what did you need me for again?
My moth friend: oh.. uh… I don’t remember
Me: …. You wanna go through THAT place?? (Eden, which they have not gone through)
Moth friend: sure!!
A forbidden traveller with me
Large cheese pizza
They’ve already ascended, you’re too late 💔
Yummy krill bait
I think it’s a good experience to do Eden solo your first time
Ayo I forgot your cheeseburgers/-
Did you get the fries though?
Still in the glowy phase I’ll get your pizza
Can you get the coke too??
3 days till DoB
Y’all are paying me back, right?
So while in my physics class, we were learning stuff to do with electro magnetic waves. And so one of the things my teacher mention was how white light is made up of all the light waves, which I already knew.……. realization this means that the white light orbs we see are probably made up of all the other color lights!! This has to have some sort of big impact on the lore of sky. I wonder what other physics related things can apply to sky, especially with the lights. Well we can already see that the lights can’t go through things. Do you think white light has the ability to do what all the other lights can do? If so, could the living creatures of sky potentially have some small bit of the lights powers represented in them? Maybe this representation could be something as little as being able to dig in the dirt, or cultivate crops, breathe, use boats, start fires, etc? I personally feel that this could all be possible.
YO I FOUND MEGABIRD????
Tell Mom we said hi
Mom says OUUAAGHAAA
how fun
i dont think mom can speak??
That was my translation to sky speak
Someone said once that the red rocks in eden are red popping candy, it’s true I tried it but then I somehow got into a hospital! How silly of me
I recorded the run so that’s going to be an interesting video—
something i noticed, ash said they were freshly hired when the lost stream was filmed, but already in light awaits do we see their designs (they worked on the winter season, which later became rythm), so this means the stream is really really old; it's possible it fit in light awaits lore but may have some differences with what's in live
Do skykids have mouths??
theyre like sponges. all their skin is their mouth
Do we need them—
We drink tea too so probably
Where does the honking noise come from??
They are like waddle dee
I highly agree, a while ago my class was talking about unsaturated, saturated, and supersaturated mixtures and I was thinking if I could apply this to skychildren. There is a concept sheet (photo below) that shows the type of state a sky child can be in, and I realized the Enlightened sky child is similar to a supersaturated mixture, where more material can be deposited than normal due to special conditions. In this case, that material is light inside a skid. After we die, our circumstances change and we are able to take in much more light, or a special type of light (ascended light?) and become enlightened/overcharged. Maybe it’s the fact that we lack physical bodies and our soul is the only thing left so there is no boundaries to how much light we can take in. This is more like an observation than a theory, though.
||i actually Should be doing my science homework but nah sky lore is more important||
I think i learn more science here than at school XD
What are the pieces of information circulated from that stream? We may have to mark all as “questionably canon” or “LA canon” hmmmmm that is Reallh old
Plot twist: the entire stream was made up and never existed to begin with
That’s a very ✨cwispy✨ image
Am I wrong or is that megabird????
Nono that’s Megan right there
im pretty sure it is
i just looked up and “Aw the cute friend constellation thing— what the”
she is always watching.
megan :]
Thats the sound of car horn....
CARS GIVE BIRTH?
this whole conversation has gone haywire—
Where??
what's going on with lorechat-today
TheDisaster is living up to their name
https://youtu.be/YPh5JMiKHLw?t=345
5:45 spirits used to accompany us starting the end of the castle sequence ???
Something, something for sure 🙂
That video is from my eden run today so eden after you make it to the room where you’re reborn from
Theres a bread eating contest going on-
oh also none of y’all get your fries pizza or whatever until you pay me for delivery fees
What’s the fee
||Allegiance||
I’m already a disaster child, why not make it official?
can i be a disaster child?
ill pay
I did not mean to adopt so many sky children today—
good luck~~
Alright kids your babysitter while I’m at my candle running job is the prairie elder because they’re too nice to say no
You mean, getting troops to melt valley?
I’m tempted to draw that but I have no idea how to even begin
They're busy teaching the flight guide today~
They cancelled

In case you all wanna hear
https://youtu.be/Fl5_5pyHIJo
DONT TELL THEM
Guess I'll have to make the elders aware of guests
The elders just watching me wandering around with an entire band of sky kids following—
Like ducklings
Forest elder wants you to take the valley twins too-

Picture like… a valley twin approaching and I HÖNK and point at them
They have no time to respond before my hoard of children ATTACK
I’m gonna draw it
And she has her hammer as her backup if you dont take them~~
It'll be like those baseball or tennis practice machines, just throwing a bunch of skykids that end up getting hit to the 4th dimension,
I’ll take them but it’s on h e r if they end up in wasteland somewhere
paddle pop sticks were made by the forest elder herself^^
NOT MY KIDS—
||Y’all describe your sky kids and I’ll also draw this ||
Actually. Time to see how animation goes I have a really funny idea
Ohohohoh I’m intrigued
I got the free rebreather, the commodore hair, fire prophet pants and anxious angler cape,
Tiny with braids, flower crown, the greeter dudes pants, the grateful cape and wooly neck assesory
angler pants, cannoneer mask, lively navigator hair, commodore cape and flight pendant
This is amazing—
Also I feel like the valley elders would see me run by followed shortly after by a large group of sky kids and just tag along to see what’s up
Free rebreather, the recent Rhythm TS pants, Abyss ult cape, abyss pendant, flower crown, and Cannoneer hair
Spider Mask from Earth Prophet, spiderweb cape from days of Mischief, (yeah, it’s a theme), Samurai pants from Fire Prophet, Dismayed Hunter hair…and one of those backpacks that have like half of all props on them.
Should I add all my moth friends (Real life buddies) to this for ✨flare✨
whats amazing is the pain in your hand cramp after drawing this-
I’ll be fiiiiiiine
~5 skykids gl pal,
in your dreams
I need a crisp, clear moth honk. Which realm would give me that do ya think?
The cave-ish place in prairie or the opening of prophecy in isle
Vault
turning off music helps
I need no sound effects if possible to muddy the audio. Conversely, if anyone has one already recorded, it would be a big help
am I going into beta to do this? Yes. Yes I am
I already have music off
Vault is your best bet I think. Especially the first floor where there isn't another person
Maybe starlight desert? Without the music I’ve noticed it’s relatively silent
I have successfully gotten moth honk
Here is moth honk audio file if anyone ever wants it XD
hOnk
Did I make this just for a funni animation? Yes. Yes I did
Time to add footsteps to the list LMAO
sky children, I also have our family bonding trip schedule prepared
Does it involve valley and / or fire ?
i don’t even know what you’re making but I love it already-
also no, we will not be flooding it yet
This is family bonding not family feud
I don’t know, flooding the Valley together sounds like perfect family bonding to me.
That’s a good quality HONK right there.
trauma bonding
High def honk. And yes, I’m putting WAAAAY too much effort into this
I recorded that and put it into a video to audio converter
keeping up with thoseskykids
We got footsteps people
Can't wait for DoB 3 days, the cape they showed us looks so Clean
well get to that, but first:
Create a buddy system for when we need to headcount or stay together
Start in isle and have a breakfast picnic with the butterflies
Concern the isle elder with our presence in their temple
Head to prairie and take a break for tag/hide and seek in the butterfly fields
Concern the prairie elder with our presence in their temple
Head to forest and have a moment for playing in mud or puddles before we enter the gates (I will prepare the towels)
lunch break in the river area
Learn light creature anatomy in the boneyards
Concern the forest elder with our presence in their temple
Valley raaaace (but we SLED)
Hide and seek/tag in village of dreams
Either wind paths to starlight desert to vault or I try and keep you all on leashes for wasteland-
Concern the vault elder with our presence in their temple—
that was a literal paragraph but anyway that’s the vibe for my new sky kids
Which valley twin should I draw?
Spiky man who hit the light into the stratosphere
So this guy
Legend says the light is still there to this day
Kakashi.....
Now I gotta practice drawing all your fellas before the final one—
Just came on to see what the Lore Chat is discussing only to see some vacation plans... lore chat never disappoints me once again
i adopted 5 sky children today and I will die for them
as one does
Tell me their....names
i am not about to inadvertently ping them all—
my children need their rest
ALSO YOURE ONE OF THEM

Nevertheless I will be here to financially support this growing family with my low low rates
rest is for the weak (im not weak)
You can still type their names without pinging them.
you should probably get some sneep snorp soon
i can and will put you in time out
Also there’s yui
You
Zacharie over there
Luna
And theoriginalol
Hm, that one sounds familiar
Hmm yes, I love this family here already
what did I say about skipping nap time
You will rest and you will have pleasant dreams!
Oh god I summoned them all
I agree with them, I haven't slept in ten years and I turned out great
nighmares of course
Wait, y'all sleep ?
I just keep my eyes open till I pass out
jokes on you i actually cant have dreams only screenshots
amateur /j
skybot will come for you....
children please—
you want to go?! /j
Skybot ? Allow me,
What's a moth ?
It worked again!
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
when does it not work XD
They have been summoned!
I could adopt sky bot too if I try hard enough
!friendsnotfood
The topic of food naturally arises often... but please remember to treat all skykids and sky creatures with kindness and respect. And please keep the conversation out of the gross-out-for-fun zone!
Toaster on a leash,
We should make Skybot a member of the lore family
skybot is now our toaster brother
We're adopted??
oh no—
YUI DID YOU HEAR THAT-
Does anyone have ideas or headcanons about what ancestor memes would be like. It’s been bugging me. I need to know.
Here are mine
- Tsadito
- Light creatures aren’t real [like birds aren’t real]
I thought we all just got summoned here one day
Oh yeah, I'm aware,
NO NO WAIT I MEANT ‘TOO’ AS IN MY OTHER SKY KID NOT YOU—
Ok then mother.....!
Would skykids post the deep fried Gen Z memes ?
Very imporant question here
Uhhhhhhh
No Lights?
You know how you can lose pencils when you put them down?
I just put a whole box of them down and lost it
Nevermind I failed to take them out of my bag
The other day I tired to open a door, didn't turn the door handle enough and went head first into the door,
I bumped into a table then apologized to the table
Hey why does bumbling boatswain wear his jacket right but we don’t?
By any chances, Canadian?
I walked straight into the showerhead then punched it, i apologised afterwards and didnt think anything was weird until this morning.
they also do not wear their jacket correctly
I’m lookin at the art of them all together (shoulda clarified that lol)
they is trying to do ze annoying anime dude jacketwearing
I was born in Portugal but moved to USA when I was eight with my family for the American Dream
Plese help me back to Portugal
I once apologized to a chair in elementary school.
Are we perhaps related? /j
Yes, part of the “apologizing to appliances family”.
I once apologised to a bubble for popping it and had a feeling of grief the entire day.
Nice pfp
I'm not the only one!!
Thanks i like yours too ^^
How many of you have been adopted by my friend…?
I can not be adopted by anyone, my pride does not allow me to
🗿
OH NO
Welcome to the family, COWARD
NOOOOO
MY PRIDE IS FADING
and this entire conversation is why lorechat is just like cozy but scientific

Get back here we’re adopting sky kids
We’re just talking about adopting Skids.
That's not the topic for this channel, though. It's called lore-discussion, not adopt-skykids-here
I remember that once I fell asleep in gw's graveyard while my friend was leading, thankfully I had the Old Home Trick up, that day still is titled as " The Krill Football "
Oh mother- I. HAS. COVID.
True, but all lore for the season has been discussed…many times, so we’re just having fun.
My Skykid
Eh, if the mods don't care, I'll just leave the channel since it's not being used for it's purpose.
I think the giant krill at the bottom of the abyss enjoys jazz
Yeah, the lore is more dry than vault,
Im thinking orchestral
I bet it’s heavy metal to anyone who asks but anime openings in secret
The Your Name OST
Dry as chalk dust down here.
dry as my humor
Very sad down there
as dry as enchantments boat.
dry as the enchantment area
If you want lore then bring up lore
Ask questions and we give answers
If boats sail on water, then the boat must have been sitting/sunken for a while and the area must have dried up. Right?
Sky boats can fly, most of them if not all,
My thinking is that all the clouds in sky used to be water
What happened to the enchantment boat?
also does this mean that flooding valley into wasteland WOULD help those boats????!
Told you I’m doing good work
So what we see is residue of a drought and a boat wreck ?? There is a little bit of water in the area. The enchantment spirits could be from times before flying
I think it was like one of those Sky boats that fly and it crashed
I think it was one of the flying boats and that krill nearby attacked it
That’s terrifying. What would have caused it though?
George Michael the abyss krill
Weather, Krills, or something wrong with the boat are my theories
Because i see little crashed boats everywhere where clouds are, so perhaps long ago instead of clouds it was water....
I’m guessing both of those first two ones. A combination of the Krill attacking and the Storm from Eden hitting the boats with full force.
Clouds are after all made of water 👀
y'all shouldn't need mods to enforce the topic here... if you're just goofing off, then #general-sky-discussion needs your general sky topics
The enchantment murals show the forgotten ark being struck by lightning and subsequently destroyed. Most of Sky’s boats do fly using darkstone, which probably included the ark. Pretty easy question to answer
We're talking about lore now tho. You're a little late
Wait it does??
So it was likely the Eden storm, then. I very much doubt that a “regular” one would have been able to take down a boat that big.
Yep, I can try to find for you if you want
I got here exactly on time. I'm not enforcing topic, I'm reminding that other members' requests to get on topic are valid
I wonder if sky's lightnings works like real life's, I think the only lightning and thunder we see is at eden, I wonder how that works
We hear thunder in hidden forest i believe.
They didn't 'request' anything. They dissed the entire chat while simultaneously refusing to contribute themselves.
Maybe the lighting and thunder works sort of like that Crystal rain if it gets bad?
I’m picturing the sound cues with the crystal rain in eden. The BOOM
I think maybe that's how it works in Eden, might work different in other realms
tone in text leaves plenty of room for interpretation, and please don't be combative about it. If a channel is taken over by off-topic chatter, it often makes people who want to be on-topic feel unwelcome, so we can all make allowances for tone in that kind of request
Well, if it did take down the Ark, then we can presume it probably works like in real life…although it is noticeable that we never see the lighting in Eden striking the ground or anything. Just the rocks and stuff.
If we think the storm might have hit them maybe it did momentarily? Maybe when the king got sealed away the storm did too? So otherwise it was within all the realms until that point. Would explain a lot of the damage too
coughs that's why gen chat exists for off-topic shenanigans coughs then leaves the chat
I never thought of it like that. That could be it
Maybe what happened when the eden crystal malfunctioned was spreading the eden rain to every realms, and maybe that's what took out the spirits, and then the storm went away when it got sealed in eden,
Depending on how big the lightning storm is, it could theoretically take down the boat if it hit it a certain way
Hmm…maybe it hit the sails on the side buried in the sand? That would make sense. Throw it off balance, causing it to crash.
Do we see any physical dark crystals on the boat? Maybe they were hit or damaged
Yeah, or like a plane losing a wing and/or engine. Makes it less functional
I would have to go back to the Ark and look at it, but I don't think there is so maybe
The boats have those “levitation” crystals by the oars. They are also present at the chairlift/gondola in the village of teams on each lift tower
True
perhaps the impact of the explosion, going outward then like tsunamis in real life push then crack then break
That’s the typical [and my] assumption for it, but I don’t want to rely on solely that for timeline reasons. I remember an official quote describing the season saying that they built the ark to escape the apocalypse, I’ll try to find it hold on
That makes it more sad
its in 7 days of sky right??
"For a while Dusk was not touched, but then we revisited the level after coming up with the ancestor stories — this was going to be a place where Sky's ancestors built a giant ark to survive the apocalypse." "After the structure of the level was established, we iterated on the story of Wasteland's Elder. Originally, it was a story about a soldier who lost everything, regaining hope after encountering Sky children."
Lorechat gets off topic or directed into topics that only vaguely relate to Sky a lot. I also prefer it being on topic because it’s easier to have conversations that way, but being passive aggressive about it helps no one. The best way to get it back on topic is usually just to bring up something about lore and it happens naturally; complaining about it both keeps it off topic and, at worst, starts an argument. Like I said above, it doesn’t really help anyone
It might have been that one, but I remember it as specifically relating to enchantment. Like in one of the season trailers or something. Looking for it now
I mean it's okay if we get off topic like once in a while tbh, just as long as we get back on topic eventually
this one really interested me a long time ago- "This was the time when we thought that the fall of civilization was related to the war they had against creatures. The current tone of Dusk was established around this time of development."
War? This is the first time I heard about this
I guess I never really thought about it all from Tsadi’s point of view. Dude lost his armies that he likely trained personally, all his friends, lost contact with the other Elders, and saw the entire world he fought so hard to protect fall against the enemy. It really shows just how powerful his will is, that he’s still holding on all this time.
Its in the 7 days of sky:golden wasteland
I mean the penultimate zone in Wasteland is called “battlefield”
True, true, where can I see the 7 days of Sky?
"At one point the Elder was half corrupted by the darkness. The light of Sky children awakens them, and then they sacrifice themself to the Dark Creatures to save you and let you move on."
(Momentarily off topic)
question to all y’all I just adopted: could I dm you real quick or is anyone uncomfy with that
i am ok with it
Facebook just search it up!
I'm not a fan of the 'sacrifice themself' bit but 'save you from dark creatures' sounds so cool and I dream of the day
…Wait, so is he just gone after that? We still see him in Vault and can visit him in orbit.
I think at that point in development the Elders weren’t trapped in pocket dimensions
I'm fine but you might have to friend me since I can't really figure out how to open it that much
I dont actually know thats what the post said, assuming that those are just figments
That's old concept backstory, not what's currently going on
Oh, thank the Elders. (Literally). It would suck if he was gone for good.
I didn’t find it, so I assume Alex was probably right about the source and I just mixed it up. What I DID find was this very interesting tidbit that further proves my theory about ench spirits being from post desertification isle
Thank you
isle elder deleted them 💔
Golden Valley is like a downtown of the Sky kingdom. People built a huge city on top of this mountain, using boats to move between places."-twitter ( ive just brought it here for the people talking about sky castes the other day)
from a desolate land
They could be Isle but they could be a civilization outside of the kingdom. Their attire is drastically different than that of the other spirits even seasonally.
Granted I don’t believe there is another civilization outside the Sky kingdom but you never know.
I would say that they were just normal merchants/travellers tbh-
That would be quite the surprise. If there are other continents out there in the world, with whole different types of civilizations.
Merchants/travelers outside the kingdom or within the kingdom?
Granted, their could be other cultures within the same realm. It’s likely there were dozens of totally unique styles that got lost to history. For example, look at Sanctuary or Flight spirits
Within, travelling across the kingdom before the explosion
I considered that as a possibility, but that opens up a massive can of worms. If there’s other civilizations outside of Sky, did they also get destroyed, but Megabird didn’t care enough about them to send us there as well? Are they doing okay and are just incredibly baffled about the entire situation happening in our kingdom and don’t want to get near it?
My personal headcanon is that sometime around the desertification or maybe civil war, Isle seceded from the main kingdom and that’s why the isle elder seems set apart. If that’s true we would both be right
Plus so far Isle seems to have all the colored light stuff (prophecy) so I guess simplest explanation?
Perhaps the sky kids are only in the sky kingdom because they're fixing eden? Or there are other sky kids in the other kingdoms, and we're just part of the 'ground zero' squad (lol, we're the deluxe unit)
Perhaps the isle elder knew what the king was doing was wrong, perhaps creating skykids as a backup plan to save the kingdom someday?
Perhaps
Some things imply the elders saw the kids (and by proxy) the kingdom's fall coming. It makes me wonder
Do the civilizations outside of us look in the kingdoms general direction like “Well, everything exploded, there’s an eternal storm there, and glowing children keep falling from the sky. Just don’t go near there and we’ll be fine”
Or are there skykids everywhere and our group is just really unlucky?? All of the options to explain away outside civilizations just get funny and a little confusing when you start thinking about them, so I personally believe they aren’t a thing except maybe for very far away ones
Apparently at one stage of sky's concept the isle elder was a vulture....
I’ve assumed that the power required to create or summon the Skykids (an infinite number of what are essentially immortal demigods) would be too high for one person. I’d imagine it would be a cooperative effort between all the Elders.
Maybe there’s reverse sky? Like a dark version
I think, if there are other kingdoms, the eden storm wiped them out too. Total apocalypse.
Perhaps....
The other civilizations are probably like confusing screaming at what's going on here
Wouldn’t the entire World just be taken over the darkness in that situation? Or would it be completely reversed, where the “evil light” is overtaking the lands, and the “Ground Children” equipped with the power of darkness rise up to get rid of it?
Even if the Storm open out other civilization, would there not be spirits of the dead to save?
Wait, so would there be other skykids there as well, or the Light just didn’t care enough to send them ? Do they have their own Edens as well or would the spirits also have to travel here to ascend? It just breaks my mind
Who's to say there aren't sky kids in this kingdoms? We just happen to be in the specific kingdom that caused the whole mess
Well there was the “dark and light creatures lived in peace”
But it could be sealed from our land like eden was or a similar way to constellation gates?
I think it’ll be more narratively coherent to have this kingdom be the only one, tbh
Where did you get “dark and light creatures lived in peace” from? Never heard that before
Imagine we get another game that is like a spinoff Sky and its like 'Child, there are other spirits to return to the stars'
oh god i forget now— I know it’s somewhere give me a few minutes
That’s true. I think it would be best to just imagine the world with just one. After all, it’s confusing enough just thinking about the one we’re already in.
I distinctly remember 'light and dark lived in balance' or something of the like, but I don't remember where. It was in the context of the game I know but...
I wish we could live in balance with Krills and actually get hugs from them
Could that perhaps be from the initial cutscenes in isle??
Maybe??? Tbh I'm probably going to go to sleep in the next 30 minutes, so my brain power is a big fat zero
Have a good sleep Ennarcia!
I think it only metioned dark/darkness when refering to the the kingdoms falling to it I think
Have peaceful dreams!
Ack. I can’t remember if I saw it as a part of a video, description of something from sky, or elsewhere
I’ll keep looking but I don’t know if I’ll find it tonight while trying to backtrack
(Off topic): Can I know everyone's preferred pronouns so I don't misgender anyone?
This server should really have pronoun roles, huh?
Yes it should
Ik i keep accidentally offending people when i cant find it on their about me
I was kinda surprised to not see pronouns. Almost every server has them. Not just to accommodate other gender identities but just because the internet it so ambiguous. (Also I really don't care what pronouns anyone uses for me it honestly does not matter)
Oh when accidentally called me him, I wasn't really offended just so you know (if my friend wasn't those kind of people I would have it in my about me)
Was it here? [#lore-discussion-spoilers message] If so, that might be important, but it was from LA so it might not be canon still
no other people have gone on rants XD
Oh dear, that's extreme
escpically if its just once
Ever reliable, it's Salem!
I’d like to say that this is a strange take for me
Why should we only talk about the current season? There are still hundreds of Sky Lore topics that we haven’t discussed about on more detail.
Just last month and January we were discussing things like Blessing Theory and Spirit Memories, which are base game things!
I was more focused on the “having fun” part there, honestly.
So upon my search:
The poems that go with the pins from the sky say some things about the elders like telling the forest elder not to weep (someone mentioned emotions tied to the weather at some point earlier I think)
They can be found on the wiki waaaaay down
Same, as long as we're having fun its okay if we get a little off topic
tbh I have terrible memory, so not thinking of old season/base game lore because it doesn't cross my mind happens a lot.
I need to see poems, please! Me love poems
Idek what a lore is
I have a devastating headcanon about the forest elder, do you guys want to hear it. I don’t know if it would make anyone else sad but it definitely does for me
In the original concepts the forest elder tried to basically kidnap us in the darkness
me
oh my
Creepy
hide your children--
sadly me
your profile picture is haunting me right now
yeah, there were going to 'seduce us deeper into the forest'
My pfp is amazing. My face in a potato
Love to see all the little pink beta boat messages in the water. Like how am I even seeing these right now I'm not a beta tester
Btw what is a lore? And kingdoms? What kingdoms lol
the swans? Didn't they release those as a spell on weekends?
For days of love I believe
Yeah the swans. Are the bloom ones flowers or am I looking at the wrong thing
Im so confused rn
You've awaken every Sky Lore fans primal sense
I'd be happy to dm you with the basic run down
Stories, a place with a supposed monarchy
The world of Sky used to be composed of 7 kingdoms, which ruled over the 7 areas we see today. They each had a ruler, or Elder.
Yes please so
Okay so… you know the theory about the tlp spirits being really similar to the elders in some capacity? You know how the one representing forest elder is supposed to be stretching lamplighter, who focuses their entire personality around being perfect at their job? What if the reason forest elder immediafely jumps to making a Diamond to open the door for us when they meet us is because they assume that’s the only reason we awakened them, so they could do that for us, and not out of kindness?
I’m typing this out and realizing it makes less sense than I thought it did
I'll get that ready for you
Does anyone have that one meme with the guy in front of the wall with all the papers and thumb tacks because that's how lore chat is trying to recap all of lore
Lore is like, story telling elements. The kingdom being post apocalyptic is lore, but so are the little fun facts the seasonal spirits get to flesh out their characters a little.
Forest Elder deserves a hug but they’d probably kick us
Forest elder doesn’t think we came to save em, just move along is a sad concept
i thought it was one kingdom with different areas
Forst elders look depressed
So which spirits go to which elders?
they really just keep going
I don’t want to believe it but it makes too much sense :-( it’s why they’re so cold towards us instead of grateful like the first two, they just think they’re being used and want to get it over with
@languid glen sent you the run down friend
I’m not sure how the governmental system of Sky worked- it could be anything: a loose/tight confederation of kingdoms, a council of rulers that work together, or a state that answers to one Elder
isnt it referred to as the kingdom (singular) of sky
Sometimes but that may just be a fanon name. I know the king gets called that in concepts but idk if it carries over to current canon
its easy it doesnt. In a place like sky would a government even be needed?
I meant in the past, before Skykids and the disaster
Ramble time. What came first, the constellations or the spirits associated with them? Because the constellations are there in are and in the vault. Maybe we aren't reviving spirits, but stories and legends from the old world. Legends were created to teach you a lesson, similar to how they teach us to interact with the world. Because if all these pictures of the constellations were there when the spirits were alive that wouldn't make sense because the constellations are stars from the spirits after they died.
But would it be needed back then?? What would it be needed for?
^^
yes
alex governments are needed everywhere there is people- and in the sky world, there used to be people in the form of ancestors
Oh that’s true,.. if the spirits are the stars forming the constellations, then how did they exist before those spirits died in the murals? Why did those specific spirits get chosen?
Alright lore chat I'm logging off for the day, Tem needs their daily power down
Maybe it's like a horoscope. The spirits were simply 'born under this constellation'
but what would their purpose be? ( im asking this as a question)
Good day/night everyone!
Check the vault cutscene: the Elders were probably extremely powerful, so people looked up to them
This might be it because our friends are stars in the sky as well. Maybe that's why some of the spirits are ordinary people with not a lot of importance or power in their lives. They just happened to be represented by those stars
Also I feel like fate is an underlying topic in sky which means it was their fate to help us eventually
I do understand their power and their ruling but what would they do? In real life we have natural disasters and dieseases which the government is expected to help with, what would a governments use be in the kingdom of sky prior to the explosion??
The same things.
they could also be spiritual leaders, keeping the people in tune with the Light/Megabird
I mean, yeah, but why would those specific spirits be so representative of the realm that the stars representing them get added to a projection of their realms (and proph murals too) before they existed? Why are they representing the realms?
That makes sense thank you
ive got an answer which i shall now ponder about because natural disasters in sky are hard to imagine for me...
perhaps the Elders marked favored individuals as part of their own constellations as thanks? perhaps the constellations we have in game compose of a lot more people
Yes this is my issue with the constellations. They are so "important" that they are literally in the temple. You can see that constellation with them in it
Maybe this is just our spirits. Like, there were so many ancestors before the fall right? I doubt there is actually only 8 regular forest spirits to find. It's just that other (npc) kids are the ones finding them. We mark the spirits we found in their realm constellation like we do our friends.
Each elder had specific powers/repsonsibilites: Isle Elder created birds (which are probably used to aid with navigation), Prairie Elder created butterflies (which I'm not sure on), Forest Elder forged darkstone, Valley Elders kept the kingdom entertained, Wasteland was a brilliant general, and Vault Elder probably was connected to memory diamonds
What alasdair said about spiritual leading is perhaps what got them chosen as leaders, being able to connect with megabird at a higher scale than regular people
Theoretically, the spirits we find are different per child, but that's so much work to put in to make spirits unique to players like that
Wouldn't make sense because we can lead others to the same spirits. I get where you're coming from but game mechanics don't aline with that. And it never said that skids are direct descendents. Like no one gave birth to us
I'm saying there is a gameplay and story split
I did have a really wild theory to explain this a while ago, but I doubt it’s true & it got somewhat disproved by some murals. Unfortunately, I really don’t know how else it would be explained.
Although I do like the theory of normal elder constellations being composed of much more stars that we can’t see, I think the murals with the constellations mark out those specific stars in those exact parts. Let me check
Who said anything about the kids being direct descendents?
Sorry I combined two of your sentences. I read too fast. And I forget that they are often referred to as ancestors
Yeah, you can see it here. I’m pretty sure the brightest stars in each constellation are the ultimate gift stars, which is neat because it implies the elders are the brightest stars in each constellation, but doesn’t help us much
this might be a case of "what's true in-universe, what's a gameplay mechanic, and what's a technical limitation?" dilemma
tbh while I see the spirits as just 'people we put there' like our friend stars, I straight up believe the constellations themselves belong to the corresponding elders, so it'd make sense
doc mcstuffins vibes are increasing
Wait hold on let me check something
arent the spirits in game just the ones that couldnt ascend
I can't believe I brought up something that's so conflicting. Yay me I guess?
Sorta, but I really doubt there are only 8 spirits in total living in forest who couldn't ascend. Like, there were probably thousands of ancestors before the fall, and only 8 had trouble ascending?
there's prob a lot more in-universe but realistically you can't shove a millions of NPCs into a game
Perhaps the rest overtime drifted away based on you strong the memory was.
And most of them probably have boring reasons for being here.
Exactly like there should have been more bodies laying around if the storm was sudden and was one big extinction. I would like to see more of the "statues"
Hello. I’m still at work, does anyone have a picture of
from behind? Spikey Elder
I actually think I do hold on
Most of the realm constellations - all but prairie - have stars in them that aren’t assigned to spirits, which makes this even more complicated.
i hope that's gonna be the devs adding more base-game spirits someday
i subconsiously started writing kakashi hair in my browser xd
if we’re on the thing of spirit constellations still:
A while ago I mentioned how I theorized spirits are people of sky who couldn’t go through eden to ascend (something I think people did at the end of their time to safely and calmly ascend) and were thus trapped reliving a memory from their life until freed by the sky children
Which I guess would imply the constellations gained the spirits after they became spirits
So maybe they’re in the constellations so if anything ever happens to the lost spirits until someone can help them ascend they’re memory is safely kept somewhere (under watch of their respective elder)
Speaking of which since yeah these spirits are a low number:
Also mentioned earlier was the theory of eden not being sealed away and the realms being trapped in the storm. Maybe those people/spirits made it through in some way while the spirits we have are ones who tried to escape it and fled too far
SORRY THIS IS MASSIVE
Omg I forgot about the extra stars that complicates things
the extra stars is why I think we're just putting the spirits we find their like they're special friends constellations
Isle has 4 missing stars. Forest and valley have 1 each. Wasteland has four. Vault has five
Like maybe they didn't have their own stars until we found them and they just went to the constellations?
you used the correct versions but the wrong place
this is the best I got on short notice, you want me to go to the oob and get a better one?
WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THEYRE GONNA HIT YOUR KID
You don’t have to, this is perfect! Thanks!
What does this mean?
Is this part of your animation and the clear honk audio??
I think I’m going to agree with this for the time being because I do not have another explanation. The only question is, who were those stars originally?
ayo you weren’t here when I asked my other children may I dm you quickly
crystal clean 1080p H O N K
@keen shore regular boring dead civilians, or just some regular stars
No one
Because those stars had to be SOMEONE before we put the spirits there. This is an exhausting loop omg
you used "their" then "they're". grammatically correct would be "the extra stars is why I think we're just putting the spirits we find they're like their special friends constellations"
i cant wait to see it!
This is my first ever animation. And I’m throwing myself off the deep end for chaos
No, what I was actually trying to say was 'the extra stars is why I think we're just putting the spirits we find there like they're special friends constellations' I only got one wrong
I feel like we don't have enough info on stars or the constellations to make any good assumptions about this. These mechanics just aren't explained or show any valid importance besides aesthetic
spirits that eventually faded away along with their memories and star ( this is what i believe )
the lack of punctutation was confusing
It happens
Maybe spirits that ascend create a bond between themselves and a certain star and those spirits didn’t manage to ascend so the elders gave them a star in hopes to help?
Yes
We have lots of info, just,.. none of it quite makes sense. Maybe the elders are the constellations or maybe just stars, and we just put the spirits in the star spots because us and our friends get stars so we assume they do as well. Just a misunderstanding basically
I believe that there are spirits whose connections to the land slowly faded away with time, the ones that we see today are the only memories still intact because of how vivid they were.
Ngl they're doing some mundane stuff tho . . . Like thanks for teaching me how to wave???😂 I'll go get some wax now
Perhaps thats what they used to make friends etc,..
Do you think, given the option, the elders would honk?
Actually… what would their calls sound like??!
But again, I know why they teach us stuff. It's to interact with other players. . . But we don't have anything to explain the importance of them or the constellations
KiNg jElLyFiSh ( i need that call XD)
You can hear the Wasteland and Prairie Elders grunt and yawn in their cutscenes
HWAAOAOAOOOOOOOOHHHHH
those sounds in ||orbit|| of the spirits flying by that sound like a person
which is...
Maybe spirit memories work differently in the actual world? The way I view it is the spirits actively moving and doing what they’re doing in the spirit memory (as in they don’t wait for us to relive the memory, they’re in a constant loop) and sky kids just pick up on certain actions they do
Thats how ouR neighbourhood cats say hi XD
Spirits can honk. I don’t know if elders can, but I really hope the answer is yes
w-… which elder is that?…
That's a great question but I'm not qualified to answer that
If that’s the sound of Alex’s feral cats, then Forest Elder sounds like that
Weird note, they don’t even try to talk to us in the cutscenes. I wonder why
Telepathy
“shhhh don’t tell the secret out of view god-“
Vault Elder just “pspspspspspsps” at us
I'm still convinced sky kids are illiterate and kinda stupid so why would they WANT to talk to us
They dont have mouths 😮
Illiterate people can talk tho-
That’s not a good reason not to talk to someone.
I feel like I just got personally bullied-
Didn't say we couldn't talk. I'm just saying the elder probably think of us as persistent toddlers. "You again??? I've seen 5 people just like you in the past 2 minutes. Leave me alone. Grumpy old people noise"
Maybe it is just telepathy, and that’s why vault elder feels like they’re teaching us something but they don’t say anything. Or they DO actually talk to us and it’s just not shown in game.
I’m still mad that we only got conversations with the tlp spirits and no one else, can you tell
I think they talk to use and we just don't get to see it because of silent story telling.
Devs: it's a silent story. No words needed. Use your imagination
Us: but like can we talk??? Can they talk??? Telepathy?????
you mean translated conversations
they probably have a honk language like everyone else but it's translated for the humans
Maybe the elders can’t speak? Maybe if they were corrupted in some way by the dark stone they’re similar to krill in a way where they don’t respond to our honks like light creatures and instead it would sound scary to us like the krills rawr?
Maybe they think its telepathy but we havent learned it because no one told us or they dont have mouths.
This would also mean maybe they can’t understand us anymore!
Elders: give us the secretes to sky in great detail
Sky kids: no habla Espanol
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @amber creek. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
Sky bot just came for you
im choking in my closet XD, what if elders dont have mouths??
Fun fact! Skybot does not recognize Latin as a non English language
Thanks for the valid point sky bot that really helps
The elders: We've done such a good job teaching these children and preparing them for Eden
the kids: They stared silently at me, did it mean something?
Sky bot is secretly a demon and they are trying to be summoned by the Latin curses
Relatable
NO ONE TAUGHT US TO ACTUALLY SPEAK WE ARE CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTS. this is child neglect
and cozy is always summoning them nonstop
But maybe the elders have lost the ability to understand light creatures anymore
It could explain why they don’t seem to leave their temples, interact in other ways (valley reaching out their hand as a “give it” gesture, vault beckoning us, forest just grabbing the light, etc.)
perhaps they dont have mouths and simply use gestures.
Maybe we're not even seeing the elders. Just memories of them like the spirits
Man why are we so set on kids not having mouths— they drink tea, cold breath from the shivering emote, shhh gesture, etc.
Gotta get that sky ouija board to talk to the elders and spirits now
Thats what i was thinking, what we see is just a fragment or a pre-recorded message made in case of downfall.
(Phone ringing) uh… hello? Hello? I just wanted to record a message—
- Ash thinks we're just splashing the tea on our faces but events have dubious canonicity anyways
- As for the second and third one, we can imitate lots of sounds, I guess we're acoustically structured
You, I like you
But they dont seem to have mouths what do i do XD
Ash said they like to imagine the kids splash tea on themselves because it's the most amusing thing
Perhaps skykids are just highly spiritual and can see ghosts and souls
For the second and third I mean how we see a sky kids breath from their mouth and how they shhh by doing the finger over their m o u t h
not seeing it would also be similar to the fingers or no fingers debate where it’s just hard to animate a mouth for every expression if you have the non-mask on
i cannot be convinced the kids dont just like absorb things through their skin nobody can stop
It's a telepathic mouth idk???? And they don't have true eyes either if we want to get that deep but they can obviously look at things. Human biology is not prevalent here
I mean… sky kids blink so—
They dont, its just the masks
i don’t think masks blink—
Skykids do blink
I think they mean like a mechanism the masks have
If you go maskless, you can see their shut eyelids. Could they not blink with those?
I'm an optometry major do not fight me about these eyes because it makes me ANGY. Shining lights aren't very good at seeing and detecting light. screaming
Ah, I don’t think so
There’s no reason to do that if skids don’t blink?
It just generally wouldn’t make sense and also looks to be beneath the mask
Theres a way to glitch inside the mask and catch a look of the actual "face" of a skykid i think and one person in cozy said that it kind of just looked like the black mask.
Black mask? You mean the maskless mask?
I'm throwing out real world biology for sky, clearly things work different in that universe and they are not humans
I was just told black so im not sure if its black of eyelid approved, ill try and see if i can get under the mask.
It’s maskless
I've heard it called the black mask, the maskless mask, and the invisible mask

Sky has a different definition of "living organism" so what's not considered biological in our world could be biological in Sky
is it an organism or a piece of dust??
I don't think their definition of 'living organism' is different than ours y'all just refuse to accept that fantasy creatures are technically living organisms
Maybe when the skykids aren't wearing their masks they close their eyes because the light leaving them would be too much,
So maybe the masks help control the light, that's why when they do have a mask they have their eyes open and can blink
Sky biology is not my area of expertise so yeah, their life forms are different from ones as we know
maybe blinking helps recalibrate their eyes so that they can see better
I just thought something: in sky when you listen closely you can hear a heart beating, do skykids have hearts???
Sky creatures are alive, but are not biological [made of flesh and blood] from my perspective
Sky kid: opens eyes without a mask on
Everyone in the vicinity:

the definition for biological is right there and it's not 'made of flesh and blood'
Some of us think that may be our soul/light pulsating
I think they’re living, I don’t think they’re organisms
So if sky creatures aren't biological, are they bioluminescent
Don't get me started on this. I need concept art of the insides of sky kids
Hey you also weren’t here when I asked my children
may I dm you real quick
Sure, if it works I'm ok with it,
- We don't have that
- Butcher's knife, scalpel, or chainsaw?
anatomy and humans have souls but ive never heard them oulsate before.
No concept art but the running theory is that skykids are hollow with insides full of light
and charcoal bones
Let me dissect a sky kid and I'll let you know what I find
Spears, are easily obtainable at gw
What is our definition of living organism? If we're being honest, life itself is complicated to define from both scientifical and philosophical standpoints
YUI IGNORE THAT
A mushroom is a living organism, I'm fairly sure. So are flowers and trees.
Oh cool I can insert this
My Working Theory on the Composition of a Skykid
–clothing, hair, masks & other cosmetics made of light.
–a humanoid physical shell made of some magic-induced earthen material (i.e. clay, stone, ash, charcoal, meteorite) that has a hole in the chest and eyes.
–this hollow shell is full of light, such as winged light and neutral light.
–their cape, a manifestation of winged light.
–their flame, manifesting as the light in the hole in their chest and held outside their bodies via a red candle.
–their soul, appearing as a blue sparkle.
Will do,
would that cut cleanly tho
SALEM YOU'RE THE SPEAR EXPERT TELLU S
It would be that for us, but in Sky living = biological, so the definitions would have to be different. Flesh and blood obviously isn’t the correct definition for us, because is ignored things like plants and microorganisms, and so on, but the closest thing we can compare skykids against are human children, where the flesh and blood angle fits.
I’m way too tired to get into an argument over skykid biology and semantics right now.
Yes, but what exactly is being alive?
Im sure Yui can get to help you with that.
Spears are for stabbing, not cutting
Don’t sacrifice your siblings for science
SHARPEN AT THE FOREST ELDERS PLACE oh and also ceasing commodore used to have a sword we couldve used that T-T
I feel like we need to think of their biology as more of a creationism or mythology. Some cultures have human as being made of all the elements or were originally clay dolls made by gods. I feel like magic is a better explanation for them and not science.
Tbh I am also too tired for that, but just because a sky kid looks like a human doesn't mean we have to classify them as biological within the exact same parameters as humans.
OOP I DIDNT ACTUALLY MEAN IT LIKE THAT I MEANT SHE CAN HELP WITH DISSECTING T-T
If we’re made of a hard or semi hard outer material, spears would bash us open and crack us. Like they do to the wasteland shields.
If we’re not, we’d get pierced. Spears are traditionally for stabbing, but I suspect wastelands’ are better at bashing instead
'Magic is simply science we don't understand yet, and science is simply magic explained'
Please don’t viscously attack sky kids for lore reasons
cLaY.
You should get a willing participant and do it near Eden (not INSIDE eden, the rocks won't help)
So you can chuck the remains in and get them reborn when they're done
soft magic systems would like to have a talk with you
Well then, pretty sure gw also got some old butcher looking swords, that could do
Chuck the remains in the little gap in the wall before the krill area
I have a feeling sky was heavily inspired by some type of mythology. Paganism might be one of them but I'm not very knowledgeable in mythology as a field of study
I’m two sided about this. On one hand, I definitely feel like it has a fantasy angle. On the other, that by no means means that it can’t be explained anyways. Tons of magic systems and magic uses in fantasy have clearly defined limits, applications, and ways of functioning, and they still don’t count as science. They’re just magic that has been thought through and understood.
Yes I agree we need to learn about the type of magic they have and what it's all about
Partially different cultures i believe, as in being a mix of multiple cultures. But as inspiration.
that won't work
You have to do the dissection near Eden's door
then when done you have to carry the remains all the way to PNR
That's just for most modern literature, back in the ol' days magic was just a thing that did things and it was pretty much unlimited and extremely vague or just unexplained.
At least on most of old mythological folklore
PNR ?
Sacrifice it to the along with your light.
You prob don’t have to carry the remains, just get their soul there
Yes I don't think it's like some games that are just based off of Norse mythology for example. Like certain sky stories were inspired by myths of different cultures but not 100% accurate
the remains might make it easier
Edit: I also consider their soul to be one of the "remains"
I believe part of it may be inspired by the cambodian myth of rain ,thunder and ( one other thing i just dont remember)
If devs do a q&a I have to ask them what inspired them to create sky. It would definitely point us in the right direction
If the devs do a q&a I'll have to ask about a skykid's anatomy
they better not say "the sky"
That doesn’t really disprove my point. Not to mention Sky wasn’t exactly made in the old days, it could very well have an explanation to how it works, and even seems to.
I get not wanting to put effort into explaining something that’s not explainable. However, this one feels like it is. You could be right that it’s just handwaved and vaguely thought out magic, but that explanation in practice just feels like a disappointing way to shut down much more interesting and creative theories.
Not trying to be rude here, it just irks me a little bit.
Sky obviously has technology run by a power source (magical tho) so there must be explainations to their technology and limitations because it's not infinite power sources
they better not say
OKAY . Why do we get candles from a magical beam from the sky wouldn't it make more sense for us to form and make candles ourselves
I think thats just a little effect
It would probably be harder to depict (and weirder) for the candles to come out from a mold in our eyes/arms or something
It's so confusing what is indepth lore and what would be just "hehe it's cute let's role with it"
yeah
are there other games that have this problem
What animation would you rather see:
- skykid rips liquid light out of their chest to make a candle
- magical light beam candle
I'll go with door number 2 please.
I want the first one
probably because making candles doesnt have to be hassle where you sit and wait to make it, or where beam gives the candles
I'd like to see them bring out wax and form it with their tiny hands (light beam takes to long)
Maybe Megabird is the candle mold
Number 3, they clap their hands and a candle appears,
yes^^^
Lorechat just sits for a second and then goes dead silent.

Yeah go to sleep spy for the mods Skybot
so does edens name mean nything or is it just bible stuff
I’m working on the chaos animation.
Splice: you are using pro features
Me: bold of you to assume I won’t just screen record this. I want my moth honks dang it
Would you want your candles made like this
eye mold
/j /lh
OH YES HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED
is that cheese or butter
Now every time is see the word " eden " I have flashbacks and just "
" irl
looks like chocolate or candy
cheese
This was meant to be with that quote thing about the wasteland elder being consumed by darkness ^^
How do you guys think the elders would react to the king or the corruption of eden being mentioned?
Like just general response wether it be overhearing a conversation or someone asking them about it directly
I have approached lore chat at a lull—
Depends on the elder. I feel like at the very least it would bring up a lot of bad memories
What are your opinions on how some would react
I don't think any of them would get angry, but...
AHHH- forest elder might yeet you into the atmosphere to say hello to the ISS
Maybe the elders are just hopeless by hearing about it because they were not able to defeat the darkness
I feel like the vault elder would actually react with that same kind of “he’s not around to be saved/doesn’t want to be saved” kind of thing we’ve heard
sort of like they’re trying to get the person to leave the subject alone
I think the most emotional would be isle man, wasteland dude and vault lady but the least would be valley twinso's
I think of the valley twins as really young elders. Valley wasn't heavily effected by the darkness. Maybe they are still in denial or they just can't process it in a mature maner
I see the valley elders as reacting indifferent to the subject or just ignoring it completely and not acknowledging the person and changing the subject
Forest Mama would immediately tell us the whole story, not caring how much it might traumatize us, just so that we don’t ask again.
Forest elder would just stare with a hard look and not say anything
wasteland might just have a solemn expression or emotionally die on the spot-
I think Valley Elders are a good deal more mature than people give them credit for. The Valley seems incredibly prosperous, and they were the ones in charge of it. When we see them, they're interacting with a child, and it's shown in several places that all the elders seem to understand 'hey this is a baby I have to treat them differently'
Its wasnt their fault or responsibilty so they wouldnt be entirely scarred to death like wasteland elder who took it all onto himself
Ooh no one’s mentioned prairie yet. That’s a hard one to figure out
He would start crying. Instantly.
Valley are spectacular people persons. Their relationships with their people lead them to greatness, not politics. They are the most relatable out of the elders. They knew how to put on a show and it brought great economic success
I think Prairie would just tell us that we weren’t yet ready for the story, or give us a version that’s…very abridged so we don’t try to think too much about it. I think he out of all of them would try to protect us from how bad it really got the most.
There is still stuff like city planning to consider. You have to plan having sports and races, and how to get people food, and how to deal with class disparity. And with that last one, while there ARE rich and working class areas, it's not mentioned anywhere that there are slums, implying everyone in valley had a good standard of living
I think the most difficult to get anything out of from it would be vault. I feel like they’d be much more stern about not asking those sorts of questions
not in a mean way either. Just that sort of gentle tone that tells you you’ve hit a sensitive discussion.
We disagree there, I totally think they would tell us. In fact I headcanon that’s what they’re telling us in the cutscene
I feel like Tsadi would more fit that role, as mentioned above. Just completely blaming themselves and unable to talk about any of it without breaking down.
The isle elder would sign and tell you it all slowly, explaining every detail.
to be honest I’ve never really seen the vault elder seeming to tell us anything
It’s probably just me but I’ve always viewed it as a silent moment where the sky kid is actually interacting with the elder unlike the other scenes where they do their thing with the light and you move on
The elder lets them use the light instead of taking it to do it themselves
Maybe like a sort of “see? You can manage so much with light.
…
good luck in eden
“
Casually traumatizes sky kids in the ol’ grampas war stories fashion
“When I was your age, it was completely uphill to Eden. Both ways!
||could I legally put the isle elder in a retirement home-||
actually, on the topic of elders responses:
Do you think theyd actually interact with sky kids in general?
Since people have mentioned sky kids actually sort of living in the different areas and having respective ‘jobs’
Do you think in such a type of civilization the elders interact with their people much?
Think of it how you’d think of interacting with an actual monarch or high figure. It’s hard to believe sky kids would get a chance to interact with them much at all besides the ones traveling through like in the game
Has the Isle Elder retired?
he’s about to
Do dead people count as retired ?
I think the kids have a mandatory job of interacting with the elders, even if they get side jobs like weather kids or bakery helpers
Oh? How so?
What's a weather kid?
In my opinion, the elders would just be chilling at their temples, if you want to talk to one of them, you can do so by visiting them
Something we discussed earlier. Skids having jobs of flying high and reporting what the weather will be later on.
We had discussed sky kids tracking storms or rough weather to help others avoid it
awwww
maybe we'll have a season about that
I’d purposely report it wrong so people are thrown off their rhythm
“Just a light dusting in wasteland today”
Sandstorm whips by in the background
Kids will probably only stop interacting with elders if eden is ever fully fixed. We can skip them, but I think the elders might be apart of the eden cycle
I mentioned that the wind paths probably had weather measuring equipment, so they would hang out there
Really putting your name to good use huh ?
I think the elders might interact if something particularly interested them (like a group of 5-10 sky kids following what seems to be the group leader) but otherwise are more isolated
always
I like to think we would interact with them a lot to learn things and hang out :3
If elders where isolated I'd go out of my way to go check up on them weekly
That seems likely. The Elders definitely would want to see the Skids that the others decided are the leaders, to ensure that the little ones are following the right people and not the wrong ones.
I am 100% one of those right people don’t worry about it—
Yeah! Like melting valley!
its not unethical if its fun
I like how that already seems to have become a classic of Lore chat.
I think elders used to be ones that people interacted with frequently. Asking for advice with even little things in life. Temples are places of worship and people look for guidance there. I like to think the elders still look forward to the hopeful sky kids visiting
oh god it has hasn’t it—
I’m sure that, at the least, Prairie and Wasteland love seeing all the Skids coming to visit. Prairie is just an all around friendly guy, and Wasteland would be happy that there are still people out there trying to fix the world that might succeed.
Similar to how the flight guide apprenticed with the prairie elder do you think a sky kid would ever apprentice with an elder? Maybe take on a roll? Or would the elders always stay as they are?
Maybe to learn some epic magic!!
Flight guide is an apprentice from Prairie elder ?
I HOPE we could that would be so neat
Can someone pls guide me to where i can learn about elder creatures please
Elders might be a fix position but I definitely think they taught people and kids how to do things. Maybe they were the first ones that lived in sky and are there to teach everyone after them
Imagine like 30 sky kids become krill catchers, if a krill escapes into an area where it’s threatening others or light creatures they wrangle it back to where it’s supposed to be
They’re the Wasteland apprentices
Very interesting!
Any guesses on what capes did before sky kids? Also why some people just don’t have them
I know I have a bunch of random questions but it’s night time so brain goes brrrr
get somebody to save that manta in the wasteland
Probably capes back then where just a simple clothing piece that didn't had any deep meaning
Flying boats were more common forms of transportation. Flying took a lot of skill so not everyone wanted to learn it I guess
I guess it would depend on the Elder. Prairie would happily teach entire classes to Skids, Wasteland would be happy to show them how to defend themselves (as long as they promise not to seek out trouble) Forest would…well, probably not want to be bothered. Isle would help, but likely only for a few lessons, and the Valley Elders would become teachers as well, but only coaches for games played back then.
My guess is fashion
Vault would teach us to read but we can't even understand them in the first place so
hey lore chat, lesbians
discuss
I thought only sky kids and the king could fly
i dont recognize either spirits but yeah that seems cool
Oooh how about forest elder teaching us to paint murals
bet they painted the one under the bridge
I think ancestors can fly, but not really
You know about wing suits in the human world? They need wind currents
ancestors can't fly with the degree of freedom and control we have
Season of flight and valley spirits prove otherwise
Oh yeaaaah
Didn’t season of flight specifically say they need someone who knew how to fly— they used boats instead of flying between islands too
this is isle elder erasure, they would teach us how to paint the coolest murals. my word on this topic is law
Dont quote me on that I haven't got around to that season yet
Valley spirits ? You mean the flying race part ? I'm pretty sure the spirits used manta as rides for the race
Yeah, I feel like they used the boats. We never saw a memory of them actually flying around like the Skids.
Valley elders would deliberately teach you how to swear. Teth would accidentally teach you by swearing in your presence
ah… I don’t think the season of flight fellas can fly at all. Always found it ironic
It just seems like sky kids are the only ones to handle winged light and learn to fly
most obvious sign of this is flight season and the ceasing spirit from abyss climbing up a tower instead of flying
Hey…the Spirits flying around in Orbit once we get there don’t count as “flying”, right?
They're fricking dead
I feel like they could glide but not fly . Small creatures can fly easier
it does not
Okay, just making sure.
Maybe the capes were for catching themselves? Like how we float down instead of fall from the sky
A safety precaution
So they couldnt fly but they could drift or glide
There's a lot of high places without safety rails and I definitely would want to gently glide down those places and not to splat
Like Batman? And that’s not a joke. He used his cape and spreads it out completely to glide between buildings. Are you saying they might have been able to do stuff like that?
anyway good night lord chat im gonna die tomorrow morning
bye
no way….gay eople
This is one of the few spirit pairs I actually ship. Praying acolyte seems really isolated, I’m glad they got to meet 💛
director taking acolyte on a date where they just fly around together on the the troupes bird when
Acolyte would love that so much…. wonder when was the last time they’ve been out of vault
before the most important one to them died? (aside from thoughtful ofc_
I have done it. This idiotic animation is done
And suddenly I’m awake. Go on
This is beautiful nonsense
Well done!
“Making my down town-“
[angry honking progressively getting closer]
Also don’t mind the watermark I either had the watermark or a moth’s head cut off via clipping
not too bad
Ight here's the plan, one tackles down the elder and then everyone else piles up so they can't leave
“DOGPILE!”
Add this to the list of super secret sky kid meeting notes
alright now I MEAN goodnight
probably
I recorded all the audio ingame myself
The sky kid agenda is to annoy as many characters in game as possible
We do have some exceptions as In, some spirits we can't annoy
I wish I could have gotten a video of 6 people honking aggressively at an afk because we needed their help to see Oreo because that really proves my point of sky kids craving to annoy others
that would have been so helpful I needed so many different honks for this

Omg I never think to record things in sky but yeah I was acquaintances with most of them and we had almost all the different honks
HONK CHOIR
WHEN WILL WE GET TUNEABLE HONKS BACK
Both beta and live were used for the audio. I had to find the switch in order to use my sister’s account in order to get the honk choir
Two people were twining in that group and it was really cute. They had red capes, bob hair style, and a bow 🥺
Wait we had tunable honks????
I just laugh at the fact that we can "sing" during orbit because I think of it as someone screaming their lungs out to a song idk why I think that way. It ruins the beauty in the best way
They're kids with no formal training. Of course they yell songs off key
Imagine being reincarnated and stuck in one of the most important parts of your life and you decide to suddenly start scream-singing.
Honestly? I’d do it too
I mean, the just survived death, and now they're in a much nicer, happier place with something that sounds like a song. They're probably just so happy to be alive they're belting it out along
Very on character for sky kids tho
Tbf they do this in every other place as well
You know what? Everything everyone just said is fair.
Critical parts of history being explained: blank stare
Beautiful landscapes: annoying honk and playing a harp badly
Standing on someone's final resting place: does a hand stand

thank you for the demonstration skybot
what's a skykid who doesn't want to do their job anymore look like?
(what we do in between seasons and when we get tired of constantly candle and light runs, do dumb stuff)
candle run is part of our job?
Screw around, find out
Loving the pg version thank you for that
I didn’t want to get filtered XD
Not necessarily but you know what I mean. Our job is to go through Eden. It's really just exploring and doing whatever you want in the world without any direction
we were clearly told our job in the intro
"Return our spirits to the stars" or something like that
