All of the arches in the wind paths are painted blue (underneath the glowing murals) so they probably were! There are blue and orange flowers on the islands as well, they might have also made the paints themselves and maybe even dyed their own clothes.

Yeah. Sky kid’s accidentally causing a major disaster is kinda funny, but also a very real threat considering how powerful they can be at times with all the fire and light manipulation. If we had just been thrown into the world with no one to guide us then I imagine it would have already ended again by the time we reached Wasteland.

Skykids seem to be self replenishing light wise. Like if we used a bit of light to charge something and just sat in someone’s fireplace for a bit, we’d be fine. We can even fly so we wouldn’t have to build darkstone boats. We really got all the unfair upgrades

I think there was an idea posted awhile ago about the elders using their own light as batteries. Granted, it got derailed when I posted about sticking the valley elders in one of those golden wheel mechanisms and turning it on to generate static electricity, but still neat to think about. Considering we do give them light to recharge them a bit, it’s not entirely impossible that they used themselves as well… maybe that’s how the machine in forest temple worked?

As i said before ( this may be incorrect as its from memory) the first/second cutscene in isle says that "we call upon you now child of light" perhaps this signifies that the elders knew what the king ( i really dont know anymore plaese help) was doing was wrong ,hence prepared skykids as a backup. I say this because skykids arent actively present in any spirit memories ( that ive seen i may be incorrect about al of this but here you go)

Well the other one, might not be so for some people.

The left one is actually meant to be a feather urchin, an urchin that looks like a bunch of feathers.
Feather urchins typically have little tindrals at the bottom so they can latch on to something and become attached there. But I desired to play around with the idea of something along the sorts of a suction cup.

Instead you must work with many different people, scope out the biggest areas not twice, not three times, not even five times, but as many times as needed. You must look at even the smallest details and consider everything you see as canon and not just some error, until otherwise stated. If MatPat were to ever do a theory on sky, I oh so hope he visits us in lore chat, otherwise I fear he'd get everything absolutely wrong, or just go absolutely mad a quit.

I know everyone loves to see lore that expands on what the heck happened to the kingdom to lead to its downfall, but I just really want cultural lore. What kind of foods did they eat? What did their agricultural practices look like? Did they get married? Was interacting with the elders normal, or very rare? What did they see as important in raising their children?
Like, I don't care about the eden crystal or the krills, I want to know what kind of people they were

I feel like the Valley would be very meat heavy. Isle would be a mix of everything. Prairie is where the majority of the food comes from. Vault has dishes that are not very messy, and Forest has dishes that incorporate a lot of mushrooms into their dishes. Idk what Wasteland was like before disaster happened. Maybe there were a lot of wheat field there? Cus “Golden” wasteland. Maybe there was a lot of wheat-based dishes there

Wasteland seems to be connected to the sea, first area and shipwreck, so it might have seafood (or it did, before the pollution)

Valley probably wouldn't have a lot of fish or vegetables. They're in perpetual winter, so they need hearty foods that can stand up to the cold. (I wonder if that means they use a lot of dried and preserved goods)

Terraced fields with crops that tolerate high altitudes like barley work in mountains, but Valley could very well have imported food with the funds it got from tourism. Maybe they had other means to get sustenance too, I know meat is more prominent in the diet of people that live in mountains since cattle don't need flat terrain all the time.
Maybe Valley has rivers, wouldn't be out of place if they come from glaciers (season featuring aqueducts ?) and they could fish there !

Looked it up, fish don't thrive in high altitudes, so Valley definitely relied on imports if they didn't have fields or a bigger meat intake (possible since sport was a huge thing here).

I do wanna point out that in the Valley, the highest points are the social area and the hermit cave; from these points on, the rest of the Valley is at lower altitudes, so it's possible most of the activity wasn't on the peaks but at more reasonable altitudes.

The quests could have been herding animals such as manta, or cattle (unless the ancestors were not milk drinkers XD). Collect eggs from chickens. Clearing out a barn with tons of messy hay. Or even joining the spirits with the side quests such as helping out in the garden, possibly help set up an event like a dance party and so on.

The spirits could include a square dancer, a nodding greet, knee slapper, a musician (banjo, fiddle, bell ringer (hand bell) or even a yodeller for what it is worth).

I figured out, in a sense, what that area use to look like in wasteland where the first krill is. It was obvious in retrospect but Still. It looks just like the last area in forest.

But my question is, why is this at the beginning of wasteland whereas the other one is at the end of forest. Was this the old temple in wasteland, did they move it to where it is now after it got destroyed???? Or was it always planned out this way???

Working backwards, there is a link from the Leviathan in Treasure Reef (the large dark creature that is/was most likely an elder creature) to Eden. However I will disclose a warning that this theory is unstable and may be proven false once the current version of the game releases content that states otherwise.

While the season was in development, beta players were able to see area take shape as place holder assets were placed down. While the game has limitations, the devs are dedicated to painting a moving picture for skykids to experience, and with that comes the hidden lore behind it. The lore in general has mostly been left up for interpretation to players, while the clues are found when one reads in between the lines. there fore, the connection will seem far fetched, although I hope shed light on this matter.

During development, the devs use place holders until the new content is implemented. In most cases, these place holders would not have a connection to the new content, although there are some exceptions. While I have not found images or evidence in the beta chat, I have come across a video a player shared of a very early build of the Treasure reef. One that was likely not meant for the public as the video was taken down as it spoiled the content of the season.
The video showed interesting ideas that the game could have had at one point, but were ultimately scrapped. To name a few that I can tell were there were above water ruins for players to explore, more than one entrance to the underwater sections, a canon that would have been used to blow open a door, a full sized and realistic ship with sails, a spirit guide that wore a jumble of cosmetics as placeholders, and a gigantic creature that had some history in the game.

The creature was a full sized marble eel, one that still had its old animation as it circled the island. This eel was a placeholder for the corrupted version in the game.

I remember that video a person hacked into tgc files and took a look at the basic design of the area. It was so early on that even beta testers had zero access to the area. So yes I do believe it was never intended to be seen.

The creature's model is the same as the scaled down version we have in the game, while its presence seems insignificant, what sets this creature aside from the other new creatures in the game is it has been in the game before.

During Light Awaits, the story line was much different. When the game was released globally, it seems that a major part of the game was changed, or omitted. The reason is not yet certain, though I am sure that based on concept art, and old game play videos, the plot in Light Awaits either had or was working towards an ending. While the current game has an open ended ending, a major part of the ending was removed in that time.
What changed was the King, the Sky Prince, the Megabird (though in concept), and the foreshadowing elements.

What were the foreshadowing elements?
The eel in Light Awaits seemed to have not been in the game for long as it was in development. It seemed that it was supposed to make brief appearances in the realms as skykids progressed through the realms. In Dawn, it was seen in the game flying through the clouds, making a similar (if not the same), sound as the whale. The same applies to Day, Rain (old name for Forest), Valley, and seen in the clouds above skykids in Dusk (old name for Wasteland). In Night (old name for Vault), based on concept art, it would have been revealed to skykids that the giant eel would have made another appearance in Eden. In Light Awaits, Eden was a lot different, as the ending would have had the King himself fighting the giant eel as a corrupted creature.
Thereafter, the concept art shows multiple giant eels in golden forms flying alongside the skykid to Orbit

As stated, the eel was later on removed in Light Awaits and replaced by the whale.
All that remained of these foreshadowing moments (that I can tell), are the whale taking up that role.

The purpose of the large creature seemingly following along with the skykid is to either symbolise progress in the main plot, or foreshadow the End.
Eden is a realm has always been chaotic and deadly. Skykids had to face the Storm (old name for Eden) to save the King.
However, in the current game, there is a dev quote (somewhere) stating that the King is no longer there to be saved, but may be present in another way.
Since the global release, the King and the Giant eel fight has been removed/retconned, which created a ripple effect to the rest of the game. I'll focus on the eel for the time being, as the majority of these theories about the changes are either up for debate, uncertain, or have not yet been completely laid out.

The eel has some key features in both concept art and in the game, which are that it has a long body, many limbs/fins, and can exist both in the air and water.
That said, it is possible these details could be mixed up with the cosmic elder manta, though I digress for there is more to the theory.

One last piece to the puzzle of the 'marble eel' or the "eel like creature" is its true name.
Knowing the name, would help link all of the pieces together and solidify it connections. A good example of this is the mantas in Day being related to the cosmic mantas (or as ghost mantas or memories, based on concept art and official mentions). There is very little evidence that may lead to the name of the 'eel,' although I have a reason to think it might be a light dragon.

How so?
In the concept art for the layout for Day, there is mention of a Dragon battle. The story board for Valley showed a brief appearance of a creature fitting the key features of the eel, though there were not written comments that hints at its name. Vault had a story board that revealed the eel fighting the King, though again, no written confirmation of the name. Last but not least, the eel in Eden.

While the current game has deviated from Light Awaits, some parts of it is still loyal to the old lore.
If this is true in Eden, then the fact that the eel/dragon would have been in Eden. Then with the current version of Eden in the game featuring Dark Dragons. Then there is faint, but likely connection from the eel to the Leviathan, to the name Dragon (light or dark), to the Krill (dark dragon) in Eden.

Sky: Light Awaits was the title of the game during beta testing. It wasn’t a different game entirely — it was the game in development. The live release of the game we currently have, Sky: Children of the Light, is rather different than LA, which means that you’re right, it is sorta iffy taking things from LA into SCOTL lore because things might’ve changed between the two iterations that are no longer relevant. Still, LA lore fills in the gaps present in SCOTL, which is why some base their theories off LA while comparing to the current version of the game to see what is still relevant. The same goes with concept art — it fills gaps in the present game’s lore though we do question whether things in concept development are still relevant.
