I don't think wl have any sort of imprinting personality like the spirits. It's more like we all have this light inside of us that is common and connects us. We all start the same but grow to be different and decorate ourselves to match our personalities. Sky kids all have the same goals and values deep down but we are still individuals

I mean maybe, my only issue with that headcanon [although I do not dislike it by any means, just kind of neutral] is that it’s really limiting when creating characters, like the first implication of my idea that I mentioned. It’s nice to have characters with different goals and values

To be honest, my current headcanon on how skykid personality works is Equally limiting so I cannot judge it for this [now that I think about it mine might be worse]

Another thing about my two different versions of sky kids theory is that we did form individual personalities. They couldn't decorate themselves like we do. Maybe they weren't learning from the spirits and interacting with them. Maybe they couldn't interact with them in the first place. The spirits taught us and gave us cosmetics and practicality raised us in an otherwise lonely world.

regarding your first point, I've thought about how newborn skykids know how to fly when taking their first winged light. they may not know how to fly well, but they know they can fly with their cape.

I like to think winged light has some echo of multiple skykids' memories or skills, especially if one specific winged light had been within many different skykids. yet they're echos, faint enough that they won't radically alter a skykid but present in their mind. at the taking in a winged light, they may get a whiff of a flashback or hear a song. they might feel deja vu when facing something new, know where something is without explanation, or know another skykid's name when meeting them for the first time. when losing winged light, a skykid would lose that memory, but in the act of remembering or facing that memory, they solidify their own memory of that memory. yet they leave their own imprint on the winged light they give away.

that's why newborn moths know how to fly upon getting their cape for the first time. every skykid can fly, so that's an echo of a skill every winged light contains.

here I wrote some bits starting that winged light with the memories of musicians could help someone learn an instrument or song.

THIS IS HOW MY IDEA WITH IT BEING OFHER PEOPLES PERSONALITIES WORKS! I am going to explain my personality hc really quickly as best as I can hold on because I can’t add on to this to make my version without first saying what my version IS.

So my idea on skykid personalities is that we are all fragments of the king right, so we each start out with only one of their personality traits and it drives ALL of our interactions with the world because, since it’s all we have, we necessarily take it to extremes since there’s nothing to balance it with. As we gather WL and keep going through Eden, the traits others are assigned start to imprint on us and we form a more coherent, traditional personality. We also develop more by being put in different situations and having to adapt to them, discovering our fears, likes and dislikes, and so on. For instance someone who has a trait that’s unconnected to how they interact with others (for instance, Determination) who gets a friend has to develop more in order to interact with them, although their primary trait still shines through the most. Maybe they discover that they’re really shy, but their determination to be friends shines through and they keep pushing themselves out of their shell until it works. And so on.

I like this idea because it’s WEIRD and it means that writing skykids will sound nothing like writing human characters, which I ADORE because I love xenofiction, it makes sense with my interpretation of the lore, and it makes making and developing characters really easy because you just pick a trait that the king would have and run wild. I also really love reading about characters who take a personality trait to the extreme ||(this is a really weird example but the first thing I could think of is the deities in Flight Rising lore, an online game I used to play, many of who operate like I described above and I immediately loved them for it)||

I’ve been playing this game since 2019 but I still can’t understand some things, maybe because I forgot them or they haven’t been explained yet. I have questions and I need someone to answer them.
What is eye of Eden and why is it there?
Why every time we make eye of Eden we rebirth again and again? What’s the point or rebirthing?
Also, I think this was explained when you play the game for the first time but what’s our mission, what are we supposed to do in the game and why?

1. The Eye of Eden used to be a beautiful place, but it was the birthplace of Resh, the Eden Elder. A horrific disaster occurred there, causing the Sky world to be changed forever.
2. We’re not sure. To me, I believe that the reason is to save the creatures at the Final Eden Room, who I think are proto-skykids.
3. Our mission in this world is debated, but I’d say it’s to help the spirits by making them ascend and to rebuild the Sky world

Keep in mind that these are just either my own theories or those I've heard before

1. The place where Eye of Eden is used to be the capital of the Sky kingdom, where the castle used to be. The Prophecy predicted that a child would create the beam and/or diamond Eden has. Some theorize that the diamond is a giant darkstone meant to absorb the divine light of the beam, some believe that the diamond+beam was supposed to help ancestors ascend. Whatever it was for, it backfired and caused the Eden storm.

2. The reason why we can rebirth is because of the kid we hug in the void. Whether the kid is a part of ourselves, the King, or someone else's winged light, any of those could be it, but no one theory for that has more evidence than the others.

3. The point of rebirthing is that we can go back and continue/re-fulfill our mission. The mission we are told is to "return our spirits to the stars" though some say we have other purposes too, such as restoring the kingdom or inheriting it.

Remember that theory I had about the prophecy trials? How they look very.... similar to things that exist, or have happened in the realm of sky?
Y'know, the one that I stated in the past!

Well we never finished that discussion, and when I was thinking about fire trial just a minute ago, some things started to kind of just click I guess.

So fire trial, its this massive whispy sphere of darkness, infested by whispy creatures of shadows. This, I believe, is a depiction of what it was like when the darkness had been spread all across the land. Now this is definitely a great discovery, of course, I mean now we have an idea of what it was like for the ancestors when the darkness sprawled across the realm of sky. But you'll find, that isn't the most shocking thing here.

Think about how we finished the trial, we murdered those shadow things and(if I remember correctly) the end does seem a bit brighter, and even if its not, we have that winged light there. This might be a reference to the previous batch of sky kids, those who came before us. I believe these sky kids sacrificed themselves, not to try to ascend the spirits, but instead to rid the realm of the darkness. The darkness that ended the ancestors, the darkness that, by what we see in the trials, kills sky kids. But how would the sky kids get to eden? By the red candles left about, and by help from friends. You know of the glitch that allows you and your friend to stay alive in the darkness with white candles? This might be a stretch, but what if its not a glitch.

Now as for how I got the idea the sky kids lifted the darkness? Well its the winged light, in the trials, there can't have naturally been winged lights to start, only one sky kid had been there. What if these winged lights represent things, like the light.

Yes, and the whole giant prophecy thing applies to all the trials. If you don't believe me, look at water, the final destination literally looks like eden.

Isn't it funny how, despite being from isle, the place that probably had very colorful clothes, fire prophet wears black and white clothing(excluding the mask). Kinda like the elders, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????

I'd assume all the prophecy spirits were meant to be elders, I mean they're massive, 10,6ft to be exact. And we can only assume the other spirits were wearing black and white as well.
Now the theory was kind of poked at, but nothing ever really came after that, until I noticed the color similarities.

Also, the flight guide doesn't wear black and white, so maybe they weren't going to become an elder, which was something we had theorized. Perhaps being an elder apprentice is just that, being an apprentice.

Whats the point of the temples? I would think that the ultimate goal of a pilgrim is eden, but gameplay shows that they ascend at the temples.

Not exactly, sure they might be somewhere in orbit, but ultimately we need to get to eden so we can save other sky kids so we can ascend into orbit and THEN we finish shepherding the spirits to the final stage of ascension. The spirits aren't able to do it all by themselves.

In the case of the spirits and ancestors, they’re all long gone. Whether the Elders are “alive” in the traditional sense is something that I think is disputed. And if the Little Prince counts…then I guess he’s living. But yeah, the light creatures are very much alive, but all the people are not.

Those areas used to be accessible, during the ancestors' era. Now, most or some of them are covered. Maybe there's a different reason, but in-universe, the Storm and its spread throughout the realms is the most likely explanation.

My idea for why spirits can’t be reborn is that, to be reborn they first have to merge with Megabird, and currently they are too corrupted for that. Either that, or to be reborn is a conscious choice they need to make, and none of them have chosen to yet.

Orbit, idk, but when my game crashed a couple times after I died in Eden but before I made it to limbo, reopening the game brought me to Homespace that was dark, all the portals closed or empty, and the only option was to go to the lodestone/QG statue and continue my journey to "the Light."

I am planning an Eden trip tonight so I could check.

Is spirit and body separate?

I have a theory- not really about anything big but I spotted this while doing quests with my partner in crime lol

If the darkening is intentional, and happens to become part of the lore then I’d like to believe it’s because it works like the reflective road signs and what not, it absorbs light and reflects it as long as you’re in the sun, or around a source of light, such as Mantas, butterflies, or birds. So when you’re in sky, perhaps under a tree root or in a cave, the stars that usually glow on your back signifying your wing level, fade to grey and a dark grey/black is similar. I find it a unique aspect that could be a reality in the world of Sky. As for the thought, “the cape wings are a source of light, so why would it fade to black” You see the glowing diamond on our stomach? That’s a source of light, it fades to black when we have given our light away to the kids in Eden. So our cape couldn’t be a source of light? But what if the thought, “we store the winged light in our capes” ? I like to think as the animation of receiving/giving light(star kids) we hug or hold(?) our little diamond so maybe that suggests we hold and store the winged light in our body, not our cape? May be possible- or I may be overthinking just a tad bit

in game, yes – one's spirit and one's living body appear to be separate entities. both ancestors and skykids have a blue or gold sparkle of their soul. ancestor spirits may have a spirit body but that can demanifest into just the soul sparkle.

I have been thinking about the lightseekers as well. My brain isn’t functioning at full capacity at the moment [I am in pain] so sorry if this reply doesn’t make much sense.

As far as I can tell, those lights are meant for the elders in some form. The laughing lightcatcher memory also shows them trying to catch some to put them in a pot, which is what the lightseekers are shown to be doing on bottom right. The prairie docks are adorned with a symbol representing the Light, and the prairie temple is full of empty pots that I believe once contained these small lights. Also, there’s a mural above the prairie caves that shows pots, each with a small circle inside, which I also believe is representing the lights inside the pots.

With all that said… I’m not sure what they’re used for, and I’m not sure how the boats fit into this. There’s also one present in forgotten ark, it has some colored lights floating in it similar to how the isle cave has yellow lights floating in it. You buy spells from it. I’ll try to get a picture of that one. Which means, judging by forgotten ark’s murals and the boat, lightseekers and ench seem to have some sort of connection, meaning these little lights might also be connected to the enchantment lights.

Here are my ideas for how they might work. I still feel underconfident about each of them though. If anyone could think of ideas to add j would vastly appreciate it.

1] these lights are used as a power source to charge darkstone instead of light creatures. Makes sense why prairie is so built around them and why there might be a demand for it, but doesn’t explain the possible ench connection. They could have been sent to the prairie elder just so they could continue on that path towards forest - some murals in the forest docking area seem to imply this - but then forest would be equally focused on them as well, right? I don’t know. This doesn’t feel right.

2] These lights are gathered and brought to the elders, who expend their inner [maybe elemental light] to keep the realm functioning as light offerings to keep them alive and conscious. This works a little better. I mean, we can definitely see in game how them not having these lights could have negatively affected them. Explains basically everything but the ench connection and those loading dock murals I talked about
3] These lights were somehow gathered and turned into the ench colorlights, and then used for various things. This also works and the forgotten ark murals seem to show basically this happening. Doesn’t really explain the tons of empty pots in the forest temple though, or loading dock murals… ugh. I don’t know.

Maybe it’s a weird combination of all three.

It's likely the boats were just used for transporting them and any remaining ones are simply where they were most common - in the boats. I wouldn't say there's some super secret connection, just a practical one since boats were likely used to transport most everything by the Elders.

So, there's this old long book about the guy, Dead/Woodland Santa. And you better not start reading it because 1. Its scary, and 2. Woodland/Dead Santa will come walking out the nearest forest just to find you and end every living thing in the proximity.
Now there is a way to keep that from happening if you've already started reading and that is to finish the book. And that's where the challenge of it being really long and terrifying comes in. You can not skip, you have to read it through and through. And you better keep moving too because it already knows where you are, and how to get there.

Megabird Is the King’s Fursona: An Essay

 I have been asked by Moon to prove what should be obvious to many players of Sky, much less the lore enthusiasts of this game. In my eyes, this is such an obvious conclusion that should have been drawn long ago, but unfortunately Moon cannot or *will* not understand our cause and refuses to accept reason. 
 Throughout the game, from the moment we fall into Home for the first time to when we complete Eden, we get the consistent sense that a massive disaster has fallen upon the world of Sky. From the empty desolation of Wasteland to the lack of any living ancestors, there is darkness *everywhere*. As we progress through the game, we can see one of its causes, which is the main topic I will be focusing on throughout this essay. 
 We can see depictions of the Light, a term for all the light in the world of Sky including the light that makes up us and creatures, throughout various portions of the first two realms. Isle has a mural of its elder sending mantas towards a symbol for it. Prairie’s docks are adorned with this same symbol, and one of its spirit memories shows a spirit catching a ball of light to send towards the temple.
 However, in forest, things start to take a turn for the worse. In the boneyard, the area directly in front of the temple, skeletons are everywhere, and darkness plants sprout on their remains. It’s constantly raining pollution that continuously drains our light and keeps us in constant danger of death. There are also no symbols throughout the realm that represent the Light in any capacity. Make no mistake: something happened between these two realms that caused it to be nowhere near as important as another prominent figure in sky lore… the king.

Oh, I drew a demonic looking furby that had no fur, but instead wrinkly skin with pores, realistic eyes, an unnaturally widened mouth/beak of which is also realistic. The shipwreck feels like it may have been a dock at one point, where the area would have been flooded.
Although for that to be a possibility, one has to be able to determine how it could have been like that and why is either the land higher up, or the water level that low.

Looking at the latter, hypothetically raising the water level would likely mean other areas such as the treasure reef, parts of the wasteland with walls as dams, the sanctuary island, and dawn would have been underwater as well. Unless the ocean is somehow able to warp that much, that idea is dead in the water.

The former though is a stretch and may have to rely on another theory I have that land masses may be able to rise and fall (as in float in the air) depending on the power of the raw darkstone ores embedded in the earth.
Us skykids have seen floating islands in the game, in one form or another. To cover each realm, there is the dawn temple and island that rest in the clouds (unless there is canonically land under them that is obscured by said clouds). The floating islands in the bird nest, as well as sanctuary island. The season of Flight wind path area. Floating buildings in Valley (even if it is refined power diamonds, they are none the less a form of darkstone). While wasteland has no natural floating islands, the season of Abyss Treasure Reef is theorised to be a possibility, in addition to presuming the realm would have floating structures if the Valley and Vault realms have them. Which leads to Vault with the elevator, floating platforms and floating islands in the Season of the Little Prince Starry Desert area. Last but not least, Eden may not have floating islands or structures either, however the realm has seen a fair amount of destruction as Wasteland has.

TLDR;
It is hypothetically possible the lands have shifted with the climate (the Storm), which caused the water levels to rise and fall in some regions.

I’m also thinking it was repurposed - it just seems… weird, I guess? that it keeps popping up, because on the surface it just looks like a decorative statue, but the places and contexts it’s in seems to suggest that it has some kind of purpose as well, or was considered in concepts to have that purpose. Otherwise, why would it show up front and center in a concept of the isle temple? Something about it is important, although I can’t tell what.

My first guess was that it somehow summons light creatures or has something to do with them, because the spots we’ve seen it actually be in game [sanctuary, treasure reef] both either have lots of light creatures [] or we sit in front of it and a manta spirit pops up []. My only issue with this idea is that it seems redundant, given bells already do that, and in a much more natural seeming way - using sounds instead of… just sitting there, like this statue does.

My second guess is that maybe it summons not living light creatures, but light creature spirits. It’s basically a modification of the idea above, but I think this one makes more sense in the contexts it’s shown, even making logical sense as to why it might be in a temple. I mean, we know manta spirits probably exist from Abyss, and from what I’ve heard animal spirits were a thing in LA, so it’s not like there’s a lack of precedent. Special gravestone-shaped monuments similar to these statues summon ancestor spirits when you stand in front of them, so maybe these work the same way. And lastly, an isle mural in the cave here shows the isle elder sending manta [spirits?] towards a symbol for the Light; of course a statue summoning them would be in a temple.

I'm curious about the rarity of certain creatures and whether or not they're as rare as they are because of the storm. IE: the Grand/Elder Manta (whatever people nickname it) from Sanctuary or that thing that pops up in the underground caves. We don't see those outside of super specific instances.

I'm sure most creatures in Sky, especially the big ones, and except for the most numerous like Mantas and birds and very endangered and have their numbers in single digits. I don't think it would be inaccurate to say that many are facing possible extinction thanks to the events of the Fall and what it did to the environment. As you said, things like the Elder Manta and the Whales are very rare and seeing one is a special sight.

I remember there also being Whale bones in Wasteland, meaning either Krill or other creatures also swarmed them on sight when it had first happened.

Remember that light creatures randomly manifest out of thin air wherever there's enough light for them to be born, so I'm not entirely sure if it's accurate to call them "endangered species", although we don't really know how their species work

That's fair. Their entire biology seems to be a mystery. Perhaps they're "Endangered" in the way that there isn't enough light for some of them to appear again.

there's a thought that great/elder light creatures are those who were reborn multiple time, increasing in size and changing shape each rebirth. given Eden's current status as a hellscape, light creatures were less likely to reborn, limiting the number of great/elder light creatures and decreasing due to death or corruption by darkness

Yes. They were just a light creature that was corrupted and turned into...that. It was confirmed in a stream.

They used to be light creatures, but the corruption of the storm/ a calamity that took place in the past, caused them to become Dark Dragons.

We see their uncorrupted form in the switch trailer (presumably that's them, they have a spotlight) and it looks more like they're flying above a sandy area, not Eden, so who knows.

We see them in GW and Eden, so maybe that was their general territory. GW is sandy and kinda gross while also being the area closest to Eden that's not a full, enclosed tower.

Note that dark creatures only seem to be in places devoid of direct sunlight, such as in the Wasteland, Eden, or caves. It may not be their origin, but that seems to be where they gravitate toward

That's eerie in the sense that this means that corruption potentially mutates something in the process of corruption.

Does that mean that if the other Realms were completely overtaken by darkness, they would also look akin to the wasteland with a cloud "ceiling", therefore blocking out almost all the sunlight and letting the dark take over?

This also means anymore areas with deep enough waters to thin out sunlight means that they'll permeate those areas, too, now that we have diving mechanics. Underwater horror levels, my favorite.

While it would be interesting, the creature in the trailer may resemble a krill based on the single light and sounds.
Beyond that, there are differences that makes things difficuilt.
The krill has a long body that snakes about, with 12 pairs of legs under it (from under the head to the tail), the creature has horns and mandibles similar to the Leviathan in Abyss. While the creature in the trailer has a body similar to an elder bird, fins of a manta (though narrow and no feathered edges), an armoured head (which hides the face), and no legs.
While there are no flying creatures with legs so to speak, these may be a feature the krill gained upon corruption.

While the storyboard has more similarities, it is mostly the horns and not much else.

That and a different body type. Even if the creatures were to be related as a greater variant, or even an elder. The creatures look too different.

If anything, a strong lead for the leviathan's uncorrupted from can be seen in the murals. (let me find it)

Corruption implies warping an entity down to its base nature to any degree, which can be extensive. So it could change a light creature’s size

Well, darkstones do seem to be the fulcrum of powering the mechanical aspects of structures in the game, like doorways. Even have the little power lines on some of the gateways you hold your candle up to. I wouldn't doubt that pipes could've been used to channel mass amounts of something or other to power whatever Eden had before the Fall.

Yeah, there are theories that they used to be similar rooms for similar purposes. One still works, and the other...well, we've seen what it is now. As for what that exact purpose is, we don't know.

another thought...all the buildings structures in golden wasteland...are related to temple...if you really think about it. The one that's of first krill room, then the 2 in battlefield, one being in ruins.

Both seem to be refineries to shape/charge darkstone, as well as the ruins of treasure reef. There’s a piece of concept art that explains what the golden wheel machine is for, I’ll see if I can find it
