nah just needs to be put in timeout
Maybe it’s where we store the light used to make candles-
-Regarding the friendly crabs around the realms like Office, Sanctuary and Boneyard Bonefire (I like to call this BBQ even if it's a rolling roaster) it would be nice if we could carry them without stunning them first (maybe we could pet them first
and then hug/carry
would be activated, but if we step away instead and get close again we could repeat the patpat)
It would be even funny to animate them in case someone put them on BBQ flame (first they get scared
❗ then they could headbat us and flee for good, disappearing from the map)
Just sent these suggestions/wishes I came up with the previous discussion
Let us pet the crabs
Glad to see one of my first assumption to be still shared/respotted by others (though I cannot be sure IF others found it out even before Sanctuary Moth Me
)
I’d still fight the friendly crabs
From the first Anniversary Gift Box poster
WHY IS THAT SO FUNNY—
it's dead yo Interesting to see some kids might know first aid.
Actually, the first aid kid is wearing the green cape. Found on a Wasteland spirit.
Bet yellow cape accidentally knocked it over and cried—
We had an entire discussion earlier about what area would have good medical care.
And while these things seem to prioritize cuteness over lore, it's still kinda amusing.
The kids really liking the crabs despite them wanting to eat them is just plain canon tho. A dev could come in here and say I'm wrong, and I will merrily ignore them.
Ah yes, I remember
Crabs: -attacks sky children-
The kids: -flipping them and carrying them around- I shall name them Rexabuta and they will be my friend forever
ah, I named one in wasteland and carry it around now
I’ve remembered the name.
it’s Magdela
Hey guys what happened
I hope the next prairie season has a spirit that teaches us the sublime art of crab petting
Red Metal Glitch (color alteration) can help reveal some details
Under small puddle of water there are tiles
Lone Scout seemed so reallife in colors
Assembly Map can get highlighted with good angles
The Rainbow Clock 5:00 PDT (Pacific Day Time) has rhombuses/prisms instead of glowing dots as I always thought
Red Metal Glitch (color alteration) can help reveal some details
Giant Golden Dynamo in HF Temple has indeed an empty socket as someome pointed out (before opening the exit door)
Drums look more white and green with brown ropes on the spirit's back
Under GW and Eden puddles there are tiles or regular carving patterns
There are different statues on GW temple with a diamond socket and different spiky head
Eden statues, even if levigated by strong winds, have the patterns like on Sneezing Scholar cosmetics
What do you think the meaning of Bluish Spirits changing colour to yellowish when you got their items?
( or do they change colour after we give them ascended candles? I am not sure)
My eyes
Guys I made dinner
excellent stacking!
Is there a reason crabs turn red when introduced to fire? Like, is it a visual glitch, or a feature?
Ascending, after we we ascend them.
Gold is a divine color
If you get the bug never visit Valley or Citadel (ice and golden parts shine too much)
They still look blue if we dont unlock sections that require ascending candles?
So long as you don't give them ascended candles, they stay blue. Once you give them ascended candles, at all, they turn gold
I still havent met this bug yet, would love to visit metallic vault and citadel if i get bugged
Same spot but with Red Metal Glitch (color alteration)
Ohhh!
Red Metal Glitch (color alteration) . It's not always too red, sometimes it just outlines edges and shapes or something gets tealor green colors
Door to Eden getz a cool upgrade
Pipes on right side of first Eden map appears clearly
So is the glitch random and you're taking advantage, or is there a method?
The methods I've heard involve AFK-ing until your phone starts to burn
don't worry it's at least 30 minutes as far as I've heard
I had it randomly happen on switch tho, please don't damage your phone !
Switch player sibling?
So far I got it in two aways, first one twice in Earth Trial shortcut (to walk on walls) and second one while chibi falling before meeting the first krill
But I cannot say what triggers this Red Metal Glitch (color alteration)
Is on Switch red or blue? On Android I only burn my eyes with red
I've never gotten it. Which is why I asked if it was random or if people knew a method. I'm not even sure how many glitches I can even do on switch. I only learned chibi fall was possible recently.
Red Metal Glitch (color alteration)
Not many details here (so this is last update to not clog Lore even more), but still a nice touch
By reading some bug reports weeks ago I thought it was more about Switch users, my first time gettting Red Metal was before 5th quest update (but luckily glitch is still present ||For NOOW||)
Do you think the elders grew up? Like from sky kids?
Skykids and elders are confirmed different species
Child Sahmekh sounds horrific: combine a hyperactive toddler with Sah, who can accelerate instantly and can just zip around
Still would the elders be small at one point
Tiny Wasteland Elder would have to be stopped five times a day from tying to fight Krills with their bare hands.
You know how some kids are super sweet? All of the elders working together to make old man Dawn a cake
They played with the idea of more than 7 elders. I like to think concept Teth was one. Until Megabird realized what a horrible idea it was to have her around children and replaced her with her opposite.
With tiny birds made out of frosting on top and there’s candles that look like the staff he’s carrying and there are three layers, one that looks like sand, one like grass and one like the stone of the temple and there’s a drawing on top of him of his younger self but he still had the beard cause it’s funny and they all want to make him laugh and the cake also has-
I get a little excited when it comes to making cakes.
Where do the candle cakes come from?
OH THAT EXPLAINS WHY THE “BRIDGES” IN CITADEL ARE SO WEIRD… WE ARENT MEANT TO USE THEM AS ACTUAL BRIDGES THEY ARE AQUEDUCTS !
Grandma bakes them.
I’m crying laughing, the picture of the assembly guide looks like something taken by a front porch security camera
Last thing you see before they steal your door
I triggered a similar glitch by flying into the floating islands in the room before the sanctuary island, I went into a hole below one of them and accidentally went straight up afterwards.
Assembly Guide is here for your trees.
And your diamonds, apparently. At least one of them knows how to steal and dismantle small diamond structures.
If this is March's doing (this is from March and Cadet's treehouse)
Does that make them a pirate-in-the-making?
Turns out Assembly guide and the rest of the Treehouse spirits are the greatest thieves in the entire Sky Kingdom, and the treehouse is just their hideout.
Side interesting note about the assembly map in tebkanlo’s pictures before I forget: it shows the dead tree the apologetic lumberjack cut down, implying that at the very least assembly took place after their spirit memory did; it also shows a series of cut down trees in front of the temple. The map could have just been drawn right after those trees were cut down, but combined with how alone the assembly scouts seem to be in the world, it further proves my theory about assembly being about a group of kids trying to survive post apocalypse and failing
That does make sense. Cobbling together an enormous treehouse to live in is exactly what a bunch of kids in a survival situation would do.
Plus in [I think] daydream’s memories, they have a small garden to grow food
Assembly… abyss… really love the consistent theme here about the ancestors immediafely and joyously committing theft the first opportunity they could get [apocalypse]
Normal response to everyone dying and the world ending: grief, sadness, anger, despair
Ancestors’ reaction to the world ending: Now I can steal things without consequences!
To be fair, without an economy or people to keep it running, stealing things would be the only way to survive.
True, but they didn’t even hesitate, which is hilarious
Also true.
Man I just saw chuckling scout as the parental guidance to a bunch of chaotic children—
I like to imagine either them or the guide is the oldest and the one everyone relies on to read things
How can sky kids see with their eyes shut?
Hey is there a Sky lore summary somewhere?
Their eyes open when they put on the mask. I think they’re just shut without it. And to how they see like that, perhaps their honks serve as some form of echolocation that can allow them to “see”.
Perhaps, but the can still see while not honking without a mask.
A good place to start are these links @carmine vapor
Although they’re not fully updated
Thanks
Eden glitched, throwing these at the crowd.
I mean, at that point it would be questionable since the player would just be in total control and could obviously see everything. I think that maybe it’s just some form of sixth sense. Maybe they can “sense” light sources and know how to get to them like that. And remember, the faceless mask is in a later part of the game. So by then any Skid will have likely memorized their surroundings at least a little bit.
Echolocation. You HÖNK and BOOM you can see where that spirit is, you can see where sky kids are, you can see more than you should see—
How did I reply to the wrong person ;^;
no one saw that

I SAID NO ONE SAW THAT
Soo.. I quickly scanned the docs. But is it explained anywhere what happened to Eden? I can guess but also not really
what was it
Some disaster happened involving the gigantic Eden diamond: the one you see in the final Eden room. Nobody knows why or how, but we have theorized a lot about it
Lol no the important bits are left out.
…
But I imagine it has something to do with the big devil spinny diamond of anger
The elders little statues are in eden too. The way you see them in vault. I think that’s pretty neat
Y'all think I paid attention in Eden instead of stressing?
i think its like that because eden was meant to be a temple.
Well, we’ve all had runs like that.
then we just fly by is instead like “yep, moving on”
I use screenshots by other players to understand T-T
I think, lets see, hmmmm. The diamond overheated on darkness or something and instead of using light to fuel, exploded?
What did notebook pen mean
Good idea. So it's also not clear what the meaning was of the CoL who's Light you had to restore at the end of Eden?
But it didn’t explode entirely, as it’s still there. I imagine it’s just cracked or something and everything is spilling out.
The diamond making everything around it explkosede I mean
those im pretty sure are the statues which you're giving light to.
Ah, that makes. Good point.
Those are the other kids who lost their light before you. In LA they even had friends names above them.
i was writing down your explanation to make a story out of it.
Like a gas??
Good comparison!
Could it have been a version of dark water??
I imagine it started glowing and shaking and shining and had a mass of energy around it before exploding. But thats just my mental image.
And Prince, next to his broken shattered king body having to realize how small and powerless he really is. Stuff like that.
I think it may have been a technical failure or overusage which caused it to crumble releasing a type of dark water that exploded the area around them.
Seeing first hand how fake your might really was. A literal broken stone husk.
Broken ego has been acheived 🤌
Could be! Im sure the water and ’anger stones’ are related to that diamond!
Extra side affects of big corruption prolly
Do you think king krill could have possibly been a light creature in the past??
Devs said as much
O wait you said king krill
Well if normy krill are the leviathan prolly is too. I think it looks like the coelacanth!
Yeah. I’m sure the Devs have an official name, but as of right now we don’t have one except what we name it ourselves.
Lol we’ve also got this
just give us the creatures, we'll name it
I have heard many different names try to claim it. Ruby, Rudy, Scarlet, Rodney, Snuggles, Levi, ect ect
”Thanks for the game, but we’ll take it from here.”
I like just, Dark leviathan. Unmistakable the meaning. Dark Levi for short.
Imagine calling the thing that regurgitated you 'snuggles'
We’ll name him Mr. Cuddles.
Chewy
Thats what he must call us T-T
No our name is dinner
I wonder what Sky Kids taste like…
We taste chewy and like those weird panadol tablets
Candle Wax. Why else do you think we got spat back out?
That wax that they put as covering around that one cheese
I labeled a lot of creatures with whatever I call them
Some where cut from the game :/
where does the maybe light dragon from??
An Angler would be a perfect enemy. It can actually recharge you, but then it attacks like a real angler fish. And you can put it in areas where other light sources would be hard to find, making it tempting to take the risk to get the charge.
The switch cinematic trailer. Although only without horns. The horns are from concept art
DUDE THIS HAS TO COME IN LIVE AS AN RIDEABLE CREATURE
Maybe we have a future season where we cure a Krill and we can then ride it.
Prolly will. But theres loads that get cut bros.
I think this shouldve come instead of the giant manta during flight
Of course. But it is good to have dreams, though.
No! The elder bird should have!

Ayo what is that Dark Leviathan thing from
Theres many candidates. I vote for coelacanth
Season of Abyss. The Current one.
JORM THE WORM!
Does anyone know a place where I could catch up on the Sky COTL lore? I played when the game first came out and then stopped playing for a couple of years and I feel like i’ve missed so much
There are some Google docs floating around but they are outdated
Tysmm!!!
names for the big boi I've seen:
leviathan, shadow leviathan, dark leviathan, great leviathan, Levi, Ruby, king krill, mega krill, Kraken Leviathan, Big Fish, giant fish, krill mother, elder krill, manyeyes, fluffy, Spikey, Jorm the Worm
There’s so many statues… I wonder who they’re of. They don’t really have any identifying features, so it’s hard to tell, and they look distinctly different than the similar statues in front of buildings on GW (Like the pair in front of the refinery doors)
I have to wonder what this place was originally. It almost looks like a large room or hallway, especially with the entrance into it (maybe it was like Eden’s temple?) but there’s so much rubble distorting the shape
I think it was Eden’s temple. The room was just much bigger than any other Temple room we’ve seen thus far.
The only thing that bothers me about this is that we do have a silhouette of what eden’s temple looks like - it’s the top one here - and it seems to much more closely resemble the structure we see right before flying up to orbit… unless that entire flight scene is just a memory of how Eden used to look before its destruction?
I’m not too happy about the latter idea tbh
I don’t think it’s a memory. We can sorta see the floating castle even far away from Eden, on the top of the mountain.
Interestingly, the older version of the floating ruin (or floating Eden castle, whichever works) as we fly past it on the way to Orbit used to look different.
I recall the older version to look more like the mural version, except that it is a little bit broken up, but one can see how it would match the mural.
I wonder why they changed it, then. Or is it changing actually canon to the game? That would make it much more interesting if, even after the Fall, the Castle was still changing over time.
Possibly relevant two proph murals showing that the Diamond (I think the Diamond right under the mountains peak is the big one?) and the light beam might be mutually exclusive
well, the current one has an interesting hidden detail.
1- the floating rocks below the castle vaguely make up the shape of a skykid cape.
2- the above ruin lines up with a fain but telling symbol. A circle with a 4 pointed star in it.
With the castle in the middle (where the head of a skykid would be in this arrangement), the floating ruin seems to imply the chosen one, the Eden castle, The winged light and the skykids are connected in some way. Whether they are united or when combined presents the Sky prince, is up for debate.
Perhaps the Skid cape was simply designed after the rock shape and all that?
Short of the cape, the mural would be a very close symbolic depiction of what the floating ruin could represent.
WAIT… initial really weird but possible idea.
First mural I posted shows what I suspect to be the massive power Diamond under the mountain’s peak, implying it is underground. [Side note for clarification. I mistook this as the elevator diamond at first, but it’s on top of the four mounds that seem to symbolize the top of the vault, and is visibly separate from the bottom of the elevator, so I assume it’s something else]. When we fly from Eden and even looking at its silhouette, it almost looks like the top got blasted up and open. What if the PNR area was underground originally? Going by all the statues in it that vaguely resemble vaults scholars (although they don’t have the headpieces) What if it’s the actual top of vault?
Consider this image from a pre-release video
Hold the phone, the what now!?
Please say you got the link?
(I can look for it, if you dont)
I mean, vault is Super destroyed, and from what we can tell doesn’t have a temple itself that’s not just the top floor… what if the original temple was destroyed in the disaster and the one we actually use is like an emergency one
I don’t have a link, it’s just an image that’s been tossed around here before
I think that the sky kids ancestors used light creatures to harvest their energy to then keep the Leviathan at bay
And the area right before Orbit is the real Eden? That’s an interesting take. And I think it makes some sense. But there’s a few more questions. Assuming the big crystal and everything before it is part of Vault, why would there be those gigantic pipes in Vault and the massive door that leads to the Eden area? Not to mention the architecture is vastly different, as well as the surroundings. You have a good theory here, but the Eden area is just too different from Vault, even corrupted, for me to think that they were the same place.
Well, we know they used mantas to make dark crystals. So that is plausible.
Atleast in the Abby’s area
If that is to be confirmed, it would be a damning theory.
There would be means to support this, the fact that vault has a void like environment, making it difficult to determine if this is underground, or in the air, or even the void.
In Eden, the ascend to Orbit has the same elder throne as the one in Vault. Every realm has a unique elder room with throne. Even if Eden is certainly unique, with no elder and no elder throne to meditate at. But the same thrones could mean that it is possible.
As for the giant statues, I am not too certain if these would be ancestors or the elder. There are other large statues that pose a similar problem, as they could be ancestors, but their size and placement could mean something more important (such as an elder).
It is a good theory to explore and one I hope would gain more traction as more evidence for or against it is unocovered.
Regarding the door, there’s a quip from Light Awaits that implies the Eden door was a late addition.
Long ago, the ancestors sealed the Storm behind the great gate
Granted this is from LA so it’s a question of how much of LA’s storyline remains canon in this iteration of the game
So for clarification I don’t think the stuff outside is necessarily part of vault, [I consider vault to be only the underground portions] but an almost… alternate entrance if you will? Crowded around the peak. My idea is that the elevator would’ve broken and the rest of the Vault above it would’ve been rendered inaccessible in some form, so that we’d have to brave Eden itself instead of continuing in safety.
Also the proph murals Seem to imply that at least part of vault is underground inside the center of the Eden mountain, so vault is probably mostly or all underground
I am not entirely sure if I believe this fully yet, but it makes the most sense out of any option I’ve considered and thinking about it is really fun
Hence the name “Vault,” implying undergroundness
Also, here’s an image from when I went through Eden today that may be relevant to this discussion
I’ve heard some consider that part of the Vault but given that we’re well above Eden at that point, I don’t believe that’s the Vault. It could be another ring of Elder altars that were intended for an Eden temple of sorts
I don’t have any full pictures of Vault summit, sorry
found it 👍
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5hCV1CnSxc
This is my idea for what the Eden ring is as well, a second space to summon all the elders
Thank you so much
I skimmed through it. Time stamp at 3:50. I find it really interesting that players would see that rendition of the Eden castle before the Isle Elder’s cutscene, unlike when we see this derelict version when entering Isle of Dawn
Also that vision would get more and more decayed in the past every time you completed Eden, not sure why they reset it in a later update
about the orbit castle, may i point out some rocks near the entrance are floating ? on the left side when you face the gate.
yeah, either it's leftover power that could link the big eden crystal to the elemental powers (since earth and the prairie elder seem to make stuff float), or it's a hint the scene may not be entirely real
LMAOOO I REMEMBER THAT ONE
Patch said it was a visual bug, so it was not intended !
Keep in mind that lots of rubble floats in valley especially, so they may just be floating in midair too, but I don’t consider the post orbit scene 100% real. Like, the landscape is real and we can use it to guess at architecture, but it’s more a vision of how Eden used to look pre destruction rather than us flying through how it looks now
oh the valley rubble completely escaped my mind, though it is exxclusive to the flying race iirc
That’s been bugging me since after my first ever Eden run and it was a bug?
Valley may be weird in terms of flying rubble since they got cyan light (air) so you may still be right vela
Quick question do glowspells still work when your flame is extinguished (I want to use them to explore the pnr area later but since I’m awful at keeping my flame alive there, if they go out with me they’d be useless)
I agree, I think the map is a real place in the world (hence why we see very much alive mantas, fish, jelly fish, birds and even butterflies completing that journey with us) and we may be flying through rubble but some parts, especially the end before the camera takes over where we are destroying rocks on our way sound more dreamlike, in that case it is similar to the end of the fire trial where we destroy the shadows
There is plenty of little details that have since changed.
Some are more obscure that others.
Here is the link to the time stamp: https://youtu.be/i5hCV1CnSxc?t=229
It was a bug that destroyed 80% of the Floating ruin (that is what it was called in the patch notes)
Are you referring to the PNR tunnel entrance, or the stairs at the start of the ascend section on the way to Orbit?
I imagine it was a real place at some point but got destroyed over time. Maybe it got preserved as a vision at some point, and we were given a view of what Eden used to look like as something to help us along our journey instead of having to fly through the corruption. Like spirits, elders, or maybe even the glowing person we hug after death is projecting it for us somehow.
I’m not entirely sure if this makes sense though, it does in my head and is super sweet, but it’s hard to explain and sounds silly when I type it out
the stairs !
Alright. 🙂
Here I thought the eden had proper floating rocks that I missed.
Well, it technically does, they just ram into you
just noticed but nodding muralist using the red light to light up murals makes so much sense when you associate it with isle
Oh? how so?
Red is what, power and history, right?
It DOES I’m just grumpy that I can’t think of how red light works beyond loose associations hmph /j
void iirc
i think Sophos made this?
Unfortunate that there’s no more lake where the blue light lurks. Just empty space now.
Like it’s called “void”. What does that mean? Does it give you darkness powers? Why would the isle elder WANT that? Does it let you delete things and send them to the shadow realm the void? Maybe, and would that make it an opposite of purple light? Hey, isle seems to have some weird stuff involving being able to see the future, what’s up with that? Is it related? How did it bring murals back into existence??
The valley elders slurped it all up with a curly straw
Does it give you darkness powers?
stealing that for the fic
I think it could simply be that in darkness, it's easier to read glowing murals.
ooooohhh maybe, or if it deletes things it’s like the magical version of going into your recently deleted photos and restoring them… forgotten ark Is pretty dark already though, I’m not sure it would need to be darkened more to see the murals
Recently Deleted Photos Light
Also the mind symbol looks a lot like darkstone what’s up with that
confirmed: first image version is from Sophos || War is Disgusting
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Imagining isle elder gettig the recently deleted photos light and trying to delete the king is killing me
well, there IS that concept art where vault gathers the memories of souls ascending...
vault blackmail elevator
YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A MONARCH
WAIT THATS THE TRUTH BEHIND ALL THE ELDER OOBS. THEYRE JUST BAD PIRATED VERSIONS OF THE ACRUAL ONES
RESH NFTS
Are we technically downloading new Sky Kids when we get the game from the App Store?
[obtains red light] [immediately begins to pirate the other elders]
Does it let you delete things and send them to the shadow realm the void?
reminded me of that pipe room in Eden where there's a lot of surface area for a potential mural that isn't there because of what I think is due to all the corrupted darkstone in the wall sucking out all the light. maybe red light allows one to reverse what darkness consumed? I could see the muralist making the murals after the ark crashed but the heavy darkness of the Wasteland washed it out overtime – note that otherwise there are zero murals in Golden Wasteland.
OOOH I LIKE THIS IDEA THAT FITS ISLE ELDER MORE
Unfortunately, it also solidifies my desire to call it the Recently Deleted Photos Light
red light giving one power over darkness
oh i love this, gonna put this in my headcanon folder
Isle elder banned from elder meetings because they keep pointing at all the darkstone they see and saying “delete this”
Could you hypothetically use red light in order to reverse krill corruption, or would that be too far along to be helped? Hmmmmm
We are customising the skykids, the content of the world is downloaded though
hmm maybe that's a question of having enough red light to do so. but consider we don't know the means of darkness corruption, just that darkness is involved. corruption usually implies altering one's very nature and, given krill, can be extremely extension
I wonder if this extends to being able to use it as a loophole for future sight… getting small tidbits of information from the uncertain future (darkness) Hmmmmm…..
Btw @keen shore glow spells do work when flame is extinguished, I went and checked for you
AWWW TYSM !! I WILL USE THIS TONIGHT !!
Hoping to possibly find some similarities between vault’s architecture and the architecture present in PNR. The first thing I will say right off the bat is that the rubble scattered around the area (looking like uneven rocks instead of, say, stone bricks or the remnants of walls) makes it feel like it was underground and caved in at some point but I’m not entirely sure
like the rubble here doesn’t look like it was bricks or walls, it looks like solid natural stone that just got blasted and fell down into the area [#lore-discussion-spoilers message]
I’ve tried to explore it before but have never been able to because I almost immediately get extinguished and/or die
that's the nature of Eden.
yknow, if you piggyback, you might be able to use your friend as a shield.
source: I was the shield
Grabbing a random oblivious person in front of me and holding them directly above my head like an umbrella in order to take all the corrupted darkstone hits for me
Moth Umbrella?
clarification: i was the shield for the rider. as if i wasn't carrying the team enough
Megabird watching us use each other as shields: I thought I made you guys to be kind
skid: it's okay, i offered to be the shield!
Both of them keep offering to be the shield so in the end neither of them are and they simply walk from statue to statue, hand in hand.
that would happen
Speaking of skykids as shields, can't we just throw a nearby friend into eden's eye and hit the on/off switch ?
save a moth, toss a chibi XD
Oh true, the hard part is actually aiming,
i'm imagining Garnet throwing Amethyst at the red eye in Steven Universe
A fractured/corrupted red diamond. Imagine that.
Skykid pushing a cannon all the way to eye of Eden. They put their Chibi friends inside and shoot them at the Diamond in order to turn it off. Improvisation
someone might want to make a comic of that lol
The perfect plan
I volunteer as tribute
The big cannon on top of the office. We could use that!
Well then, group up everyone, we'll have to carry that from office to eye of eden,
I don’t think it’ll fit through the Office portals. Prob best to disassemble it and reassemble it at Eden
We'll make it work. A pipe, a firework staff and probably the fuse from office should do the trick /j
We can just launch Crabs at the crystal like we talked about a few days ago.
It isn’t the impact that’ll break apart the Diamond, it’s too strong for that. We need to shoot some skykids at the Crystal first just to get them there as a scouting mission, then once we figure out how to destroy it, we’ll come back to do that. Maybe we’ll borrow a wasteland spear or something
Maybe we can get some Crabs to sniff out the true power source of the crystal. Lead us to where it’s weakest.
Would a Wasteland Spear be big enough? Maybe something like a Krill could do it
what if we lure a krill up there?
Or a whale?
A Krill probably wouldn't want to attack the source of darkness neither by accident of purposefully, and a whale probs would be infected by darkness
true.
I THINK I CRACKED IT
Literally of figuratively?
So let me brush up on our plans,
1- Using office's cannon and use skykid as ammo, 2- using crabs as ammo, 3- throwing wastelands spears,
Any others ?
@pastel brook (oh name change)
Do you have any ideas?
Maybe if we get close enough we can use the sword from the sword suit.
Using petrified ancestor bodies as ammo
lets be reasonable and respectable to the dead.
I don't think that tiny of a sword will work,
Wouldn't the stones break? And that's mean as well,
To be fair, I doubt throwing Sky kids at the thing would work either.
Not to rain on our parade but how do we know for sure whether breaking the diamond would stop it? For all we know, cracking it could’ve caused it go horrifically bad in the first place. Further breaking it may make it worse
What would Amander do?
One way to find out!
Time resets every week, right?
What harm would it do?
”IN THE NAME OF SCIENCE!” Lifts giant sledgehammer.
Oof
Imagine if time kept resetting until we could save everyone in a week
Why did I imagined teth doing that
That is why I suggest being kind to ancestors. Changes we make wont last. We need spirits to make any changes permanent, and vice versa.
Oh I’ve thought of that.
Amander would try to get as close as possible to scout it out. In fact, some skids in ficverse have tried doing that. Unfortunately they’re too dead to record their results — few have made it as far as they have so they haven’t been revived.
Amander?
A Sky OC of mine Fruitzie knows about. They mess around and find out.
Oh wait I just thought of something that could get in the way of the cannon plan, what if the stone rain hits the projectile and sets it off corse
Would Amander be a skykid since season of Enchantment at the least?
Or even prophecy?
Assuming they are following the same rules as in the game with wl.
Gotta hope the cannon can shoot with enough momentum that it can keep surging forward no matter what hits it
Amander is a Little Prince moth (born early last August)
We gotta time it right when the stones aren’t raining down.
But, don't forget the endless rain zone
The rain could start coming down as the projectile is flying too
True. Then I suppose we have to supercharge the cannon with something. Dark crystals. Fight fire with fire!
Aha! Shoot a dark crystal AT another dark crystal!
…We just gotta hope they don’t merge together and make the Eden crystal even bigger than before. Hey, wait! If there’s a crack or hole in the thing, maybe that’s how we could seal it up! Good as new!
What's harder, stealing a harpoon or firing a harpoon in Eden?
Depends on who you’re stealing it from…
Cannoneer ? Easy just invite her to watch we firing it, anyone else? Depends on who
Of course we're stealing it from Cannoneer
Ight this is the plan so far
ok 👌
just aim right for the cracks, please.
If we miss, the chibi cannon ball may as well end up back in dawn with winds that strong.
you guys are mad scientists
Join us Vela! It'll be fun!
Nah don't worry, we can just put a big net at eye of eden entrance
I think we should focus on this statue of a sky kid a little bit more.
I think everyone who once stayed here has literally die
That supposedly helps with server merges
But no one really knows how or why
Doesn't mean it can't also serve as a tad bit of lore. I mean its of a sky kid for orbits sake
There’s literally no other clue what it is. It just showed up one day
King maybe?
If the king was a skykid, then they wouldn’t have wings since winged light very likely didn’t exist during the ancestor era. So not the king
Yeah, and if it is a statue of a sky kid, wouldn’t it just be…well, a statue of a sky kid? I’m not sure how much lore there could be behind this. Not trying to be rude, but I’m curious what else this could be.
The ancestors had capes in that exact shape
Roughly
But their capes weren’t wings. They couldn’t fly on their own
The statue isn't flying though. And we know that sky kids can move their capes around, the stance of the cape is very similar to pray lvl. 3
Also, we don't know if there was a spot the king frequented. Or even when the statue was made.
Also the statue appears to have a hood for some reason.
I would love to have a hood cosmetic. Do you think it’s possible it’s showing a spirit we don’t even know about yet?
Yall mean the summoning statue? Bro, its just the normy one from home with wings so that players notice it more. They prolly didnt give 3 sconds to gove it lore implaicationss i
Can I use it to make plants go poof?
Im sorry to be that person, but
The only similarity between this statue and that statue is the mask. Its completely unique, and if it didn't have lore what so ever, and no other feature besides helping with server splits, then why'd they leave it out for us to see? Sure, maybe its not of the king. But don't you think its a bit strange that its just right there, looking like a sky kid, and being the only one of its kind.
Oh man this thing is endangered, we need to save its species.
Maybe skykids existed back then, and the star on its back could be just a simple decal, we can see a skykid falling from the skies in one of the isle spirits memory,
It appeared out of nowhere after an update. There were no reasons for it being there (that I know of) and it has been there since.
Some say it is to help with server merges, others think it could have been used to summon a boat that would go around the village like it did during Light Awaits, and some even say it could be a way to reach your friends.
Who know what it is actually. But it is certainly a skykid because of the mask, the stars on the back, the cap and the size. Small statues have not been a common thing in sky, the next size up for a statue would be the lone ancestor statue in the wasteland (next to the catapult in graveyard) and then the guard statues in wasteland.
The skykid statue is certainly an oddity in sky, lore wise. Because it would imply an ancestor that carved it, must have seen or known what a skykid looks like. And one that has at least a basic cape, a default mask, default clothes (assumingly) and assumingly no hair.
Apologies for the mini ramble, just wanted to add to the conversation.
They might be using old concept art for the design of the statue?
If the statue is planned to have a use later on, I can see it being used for summoning a boat that'll move around, there's a invisible boat oob that we can sit and it'll move after all
would there be a statue like that in Light awaits?
If it was, then most of the later light awaits gameplay videos did not have it. That or I missed it.
I'm just saying thats were the design of the statues could have come from
I feel the same way, there must have been more sky kids, those aside from the king.
While the petrified sky kids in pnr may be our friends, but what about those outside of the pnr. Those with crystals attached to them. In fact, shushing light scholar appears to be looking at something in its last memory fragment, and it just so happens that its view is directly aligned with a winged light that we can collect in game.
Sorry about the first line, im just slow at typing.
I wonder
At what point did ancestors know that children like us would come for them
The prophecy only predicted one
correct.
Apparently, when the boat did work, it used to cause performance issues.
However, I hope to see the boat return in its full glory. Especially with seeing how the ski lift boats are in season of dreams (valley), and the manta drawn boats (2 of them) in the season of flights area (forest).
If the boat is able to work in its current, invisible state, how bad would it be if it was re-implemented properly?
Frankly, it is not like it was causing lag spikes when OOBing skykids are able to get it going, right?
Pardon me, it was a thing before the removal ?! Is there somewhere I can see it?
To be fair, when it comes to updating and implementing anything, it’s a guessing game whether we’ll get glitches or lags or not. Who knows what’ll happen.
a capeless one, mind you.
Yeah
When did they predict the capey ones
of course, let me look for it.
Fair
@undone trench
got it, the skykid did not get the boat going, but the boat would generally go around the middle island, in between the ones with the bells. I was not in the game during that time, though this is what I could gather.
It does so today, but you need to get to it and may have to get a friend to help you get the candles lit.
The invisi-boat would go around the island in a similar path, even if the current area is much smaller than in Light Awaits.
OMJ!!! Its confirmed that ancestors DID stair crawl!
I wonder how that simple boat could do any amounts of lag when nowadays we have giant cluster of manta flying around sanc, a leviathan swimming in abyss and two lines of boats at dream
Either whatever cause the issue in the past got resolved, but the boat was not important enough to be put back.
Or the devs did not want a boat to be going around there, seeing the giant manta (skykid-nappers, or launchers to android) are doing thier thing there.
Personally, making the big mantas flying a bit higher would look much better, (since they make the area feel crowded with knowing how much space there is above them).
That and there are no chat benches there. Adding the boat with just 1 or 2 chat benches would be epic.
🛏️
Drat, caught dead to rights!
I was wondering if you were even around still.
Skybot silence, where having a polite discussion about boats, are you trying to cover up for tgc?
Skybot once told me that my issues and coping mechanisms were "not that deep."
I want to make some suggestions to the Leitmotif Doc
I once thought of starting a comedy gig in Sky.
Couldn't get the idea off the ground though.
🥁
Ok, Im out. good luck folks.
Seeing as to how the Eden king is watching over us from atop wasteland elder's room over there, its safe to assume that this could be some sort of factory.
IS IT A BOAT FACTORY
If so, then we should ask the workers over there why they recalled that boat from prairie's village and/or steal it back with a heist.
the prophecy in light awaits does mention children, plural
WINGED TRAVELER S
PLURAL
And it talks about them being in THE PAST!
The statue is definitely a sky kid from the past, or maybe even a monument for them.
Where in Light Awaits was that? Could it mean there was a generation of proto-skykids?
ye
Imagine if light awaits is canon but it’s just in a parallel universe or something. They could theoretically put stuff from Light awaits into Sky by having some kind of crossover/bridge between the two.
There does seem to be evidence of a batch before us, ones that were around WITH the ancestors.
do you think they were supposed to help them ascend too?
The devs have stated that the lore has always been the same, they haven't changed it since light awaits I believe.
True, but the areas were different.
maybe, or they couldve been sent to the trials too
I think Ash said that the introduction lore hasn't changed since launch despite its wording changing, but idk about Light Awaits lore
Remember in one of the Light Awaits intros it says we have a family
If we had a family, does that mean there would be living adults in LW? That would be wild.
Thats because they were still developing the look, sounds, mechanics, etc. Its the same world, just the previous looks ended up not being the finalized canon looks.
I was just saying it would be cool to have a season where we could explore it. I wasn’t really trying to introduce a new piece of lore.
The intro's message hasn't been changed since launch meaning the Live Launch. The intro might have changed when it was in BETA.
Btw, what's " iirc "
But they have said that lore hasn't changed, they just don't have it all in the game yet.
Did I end up imagining that?
If
I
Remember
Correctly
Oh and also, I tried to get some photos to use against skybots " its not that deep " we can use these when we barely even started to get deep in the lore and skybot starts talking,
nice
This shape looks familiar, but I can't exactly put my finger on it.
Is it the Eden castle? Maybe prairie temple?
I feel like its got to be some sort of temple or castle that we can see in game.
Wait a second-
That bell tower got flights symbol on top,
Here maybe?
Concept art Megabird
I think that tiered look is just common in Sky’s architecture
Someond pointed this out ONCE already
Megabird, yes!
yes
because megiabrd
Current one for comparison
Wait, THAT'S megabird ?
they still have hair
Technically the Light, I think of Megabird as the consciousness of the Light (b/c hivemind) but people use them interchangeably
Even a c9ncept art of Switch Trailers (search in the pinned message for the link) the marshes seen there add a river symmetrically branching like Megabird/bell-tower
We literally need a theme song for mega bird, just for lore chat
So we can introduce mega bird to new lore chat citizens(that will forever be stuck here just like us)in an easy to take in way.
You can just tell them that Megabird is basically the god of Sky and that’s really the surface-level of what lore moths should know
Depending on the chat member it'll be a different rendition because of how unorganized and how different our views on it is,
Wait- hold on-
Is there possible to be a Second megabird but made of darkness
That’s moreso treading into headcanon territory
micro bird
It recalls Megan, right?
I imagine if there was to be a darkness equivalent of the Megabird, it wouldn’t be a bird but another creature, like the Leviathan. Probably somewhere deep in the ocean where it’s darkest, much bigger than the Leviathan and a lot more powerful and stuff.
I mean kinda, but I wouldn’t read too much into it. That’s kinda just how river deltas look irl.
Unlikely, the darkness is a parasite that spreads by feeding on light, A mindless plaque that's been spreading rapidly due to the ancestors absent minded hunger for advancement and achievement. With unknown origins, and a weakness to the very thing it consumes.
I'd talk about the fricked-up ways we've interpreted Megabird in the past but they're conjecture now
…Example…?
Megabird is old news, Resh Is the new thing
They're conjecture now, no point saying them when they're not based anymore
Mega bird is actually oblivious to the dangers the sky kids will face in the realm of sky, and the king is trying to tell mega bird why its not a good idea to leave them on their own.
I think Megabird can see a lot of things, but they're not omnipotent, and they can't read people's minds (is mind-reading part of omniescence?)
Ight everyone, pick yous side, Megabird, Resh or Darknesscentipede
Darknesscentipede?
That sounds like a warrior cat name
Nooooo lol
Well yeah, darkness got have something for them,
where is it
Not my catly nemesis Darknesscentipede
You know, I really like the idea of the “god of darkness” having a giant centipede as its creator. I’m all in for that. That’s my side.
Either in space as well or within the sky world itself
Maieow (I will kill you and corrupt your bones)
I believe bird is a Known warrior cat suffix so you could in fact name your Warriors OC Megabird if you wanted. Fun fact
I wonder what this thing up here even is. The wierd gold shape on prairies temple.
Perfection
Also absolutely hubris
I'll be on darknesscentipede's side too, ( no bias at all )
if I didn't know better I would say that leviathan is the darknesscentipede
But he's so tiny compared to the megabird,
It does have its own black room......
Maybe like the Batman introduction song
From the 1966 series?
I have actually done some thinking on what a god of darkness would look like. I ended up interpreting it not as a thing with a consciousness, but just… the vast, overwhelming void of space and of death.
I mean, if all life is light in some form, then it necessarily wouldn’t resemble anything alive. I have a theory that Megabird is basically the personification of our sun, the only one left alive in the universe [which I have mentioned a few times] and so the antithesis of that is the near infinite expanse of abyssal darkness pressing in on us from all sides - the suffocating blackness of the empty night sky, of the ocean, and of permanent death. The reason the darkness corruption had to be caused by the ancestors and wasn’t the premeditated lashing out of a rival god was because the personification of darkness wouldn’t need to attack. It will always win eventually - the only thing it would have to do is be patient.
I'm thinking more of an epic orchestration, or something with a string lead. Something more god like, not as in quality but as in feeling. A super hero theme really doesn't work for mega bird in my opinion.
Nanananananana, Megabird. Nananananana Megabird. Megabird. Megabird. Megabird!
I am heavily considering stealing(? can you call it that if you don’t know it’s canon?) this idea and writing a god along these lines for a personal fantasy project because it’s horrifying and I love it
Do yall reckon if we drop a lit firecracker on darkness centipede mouth it'll get hiccups ?
The realm of sky is lucky for never having had a furby taint its lands.
Brun when I was young I wanted a furby so much, now I see what that thing truly is
furby in a microwave
Every Furby is always one step away from becoming an antagonist in a horror movie.
I have a physics project where I need to make up a toy that's based off of waves, like light and sound. Well I chose sound and have created an eldritch furby thingy that'll never let a person ever sleep again. And, of course, it can't ever truly turn off.
If you had chosen light you could've make something sky related
a monster
…Do you have a video of this creation?
Ok, but I'm not the kind of person to make something super wholesome when given my own free will and imagination.
I LITERALLY MADE A CAR THAT WAS COMPOSED OF JELLY AND JELLO FOR MY LAST PROJECT.
were you able to eat it tho
I MADE A GOLF CART OUT OF FOAM BOARD AND SHELL PIECES
AS A HIGH EFFORT JOKE
I drew a picture, we aren't actually making these.
And yes, the car could theoretically be eaten, just be sure you also like the taste of bug.
It's Not Yet The Opposite
Did I miss anything cute while I was gone
darknesscentipede
Was anyone going to tell me Light Awaits said we have a family or was I just supposed to find out Fruitzie said that myself
yes
Though, if we're kids, we had to come from somewhere.
The Sky

What did I miss
light awaits old intros and darknesscentipede
Oop
Lore theory's please-
about what?
We are currently experiencing a bit of a lore drought, there isn't much lore that we can theororize about at the moment.
Which means that this place has at least two moments of chaos per day.
We also can't go anywhere else all that much because we are kinda bound here semi-permanently.
wait what
Haven't you noticed how you always end up right back here no matter which channel you go to?
And then you spend at least an hour and a half here.
mmmmmmmmmmmmaybe?
All of the other channels are just too chaos for me lol
And here we have wooly manta
I can intermingle in cozy just fine
I read 'try not to interrupt people' in the pins and got paranoid so I don't go to cozy
Ha! I don't even leave this place to begin with! So I never come back ( to some extent ) !
You know what. I will kickstart a conversation.
If sky had a language [written, spoken, signed, etc] what would it be like? Here are my ideas! Disclaimer, these are headcanons, and only some have evidence.
- It looks like the glyphs you can see under the memory lantern shelves in this image here.
- When spoken, sounds like the randomly generated names the game gives us when we befriend someone. These names may be the result of words in this language sounded out phonetically.
- The nouns do not have genders because gender isn’t a thing in Sky
- Tone and verbally expressed emotions are extremely important to convey emotion and intention in this language; since so many people wear masks, facial expressions are unreliable.
- Similar to the idea just above, body language may be much more important in this language than it would be to humans, with exaggerated hand and body movements accompanying conversation. Maybe this is why spirits use emotes to communicate with us !
Mmm, I like these Salem (I need the merchant's rubby paws emote)
We need to know how to speak sky people's language, I only know how to speak krill and crab
I think each honk we learn represents a different animal language, which may be the basis of certain ancestor dialects, if those exist
Could you get me some close ups of those glyphs?
I wonder if they're decodable.
One of these days I want a situation to happen and an ancestor spirit just starts honking in panic and this is how we learn they also do it
Panic emote when
And you're definitely not a crab of course.
Yes, certainly not
Well, obviously not,
I'm just fascinated by the dark creatures and seek to understand them for lore reasons
The honks to me are more like bird calls and cat meows irl. They’re not really a specific language that we would be able to translate, simply because the speakers are, well, animals, and although each sound serves a specific purpose [for example: alarm calls, cries for attention, so on] they aren’t exactly words
I just realized what the concept that skykids are made to clean up the ancestral mess reminds me of.
It reminds me of the time I felt that each future generation will eventually see how messed up the previous generation was and they're obligated to fix it
hm
(idk lol)
Unfortunately, this is the best picture I could get. As far as I’m aware, there was an effort to decode them a while ago, but I don’t think anything came of it
Skykids being made to clean up mess made me thing of a moth holding a mop with a water bucket nearby and one of those cloth things on their head,
Sky: Janitors of the Light
That sounds adorable
Its ok, I'll grab some pictures myself in a bit.
There was. I came in and asked what was going on and Fruitzie was so very gleeful when they said they were translating the Vault elder's hat
It's in moments like these I regret not knowing how to draw
You’re waging a war against the darkness plants that keep getting in
Vault elder Hat seems to be a different language and set of symbols than these glyphs, funnily enough
I NEVER SAID WE SUCCEEDED
I know, I just remember it happening because it was so very adorable of you
What kind of lorist do you think I am?
I like to think that the glyphs were the actual common language of Sky, and the vault elder symbols are a long dead language that they know for history reasons
Clearly a very serious one who never gets into chaos
slides in There was glyphs?
Imagine if the glyphs contain the most important secret that is the key
vault elder knows sky latin and would understand my carriage jokes
sigh
Time to try and speed run vault.
If you don’t care about candles you can get to the top in like 3 minutes
Skykid: Adep! Adep! Can you read this for me?
Levitating Adept: *inspects lantern I can't, my child.
Skykid: Why not?
Levitating Adept: [THE CHILD FOUND THE ONE TITLED "ALL USES OF LATIN ALTOUGH"]
those poor vault spirits
NOOOOOO DONF SAY FHE LATIN ALRHOUH HERE IFLL GET US BANNED
OFC NOT YOU PSORNTOO
May I ask, whats happening
New adventure: Skycord bans Latin
No. We never know
True
I can imagine a skid finding a lantern that reads "This is my secret food stash" in Latin
hold on
I just had a horrible funny idea wanna hear it
Imagine if the sky my immortal was written in sky Latin
They would be horrific
Or the sold to valley elders was written in sky Latin for some reason
Literacy Is A Curse is being worked on right now! :D
I'm excited
Oop
I need to finish my Season of the Little Prince Mafia AU
Hey I did warn you it would be horrible
This is a must read in my books!
...it's a comic series
Salem will take that as a challenge
What even is Sky Latin?
Latin equivalent language in the world of sky
so the Sky world's dead language
Everyone that spoke it is dead now so,
I FINALLY MADE IT TO THE TOP!!!!!
it's dead
it's cool
it has some words that don't sound like innocent alive language words
well i mean dead as in it went out of fashion when the ancestors were alive
Oh? How can I access them?
someone mentionned wooly mantas
it's being worked on
Ah, got it
Manta-napping mantas
vela why does the bigger wooly manta look like they could fit smoler wooly manta in their mouth
food chain
wooly mantas only eat motes of light, the elder is just big enough to see the mouth open when it calls
Because they could fit the baby manta in there
or maybe when an elder wooly manta finds a smaller wooly manta cute, it sticks it in their mouth. yknow how some people say "that's so cute i could eat it?"
can we go back to sky latin
Hoc est mei tacitum latibulum ciborum. Noli tangere!
i'm not saying it would eat it i just- huh there's no defending that huh
The second sentence sounds like the Filipino equivalent of "required reading that everyone hates"
I have it open to translate now
Bring on the cursed
Salem's gonna summon something
there is nothing I could summon that could be worse than myself
debatable
Non sumus extranei amoris, Tu nosti praecepta et ego.
losing my mind over sky bot not registering latin as a not-english language
Noooo I can’t find a word for “bun”, should I cut the messy bun part out and keep going or give up
English does come from french, which comes from latin.
Sooooooo......
We could attempt to use Latin to Krill oreo
Does it? I thought English was just discount store German
im not gonna deny this because that's a take that makes the brits mad
I am getting “chain/bond/fetter” as catena’s definition, which I could definitely use, because having the fanfic say “I chained my hair messily” is extremely metal
amazing
(BECAUSE IM NOT BASIC)
Isn’t English mostly Germanic?
English is a hodgepodge of many languages
I am beginning to realize I could just make it say “I put up my hair messily” … I may be stupid. The bun is iconic but it is not necessary
if you don't use 'I chained my hair messily' you're dead to me. It's too metal to pass up
I am back, and I bring forth this!
what did I just stumble into
Afro crab?
alasDAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
wooly crab
We found your long lost sibling
yup Wooly Crabs!
LATIN DICTIONARY WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERES NOT A TRANSLATION FOR MESSILY
I knew you were a crab in disguise!
Latin people don't make messes /j
Why, what's your reasoning behind that?
Adverbs my hated [okay, this is mean, at least they’re easy to form]
we still need the violence pit battle btw
there are no crabs in this bloodline
Suspicious
Oh nothing, nothing, just the- LOOK! A SKY KID WHO COULD BE EASILY KNOCKED OVER!
(And I’m getting to the violence pit. gotta shorten a 10 minute video 🥲)
could upload it to youtube and drop a link
So I got my pictures of the symbols and......
They're kinda hard to read in general, those murals are really low quality, and the symbols are very sloppy.
But I'm going to try and use outside sources, like the vault mask, to try and decipher it.
And if that doesn't work, well it'll be all trial and error from there.
lore chat already tried that, so if you find their stuff you can use it
Wait what if instead of “bun” I say “orb”. It’s on brand for fanfics. I put my hair up into an untidy orb
yes
Yeah, if somebody could link me the stuff others did for deciphering this that might be helpful.
I chain my hair up into its unholy orb form.
The finale of the fic is the hair breaking free and becoming a boss fight
the hair causes the Eden disaster
I’m crying the word I’m using for “to dress” has “to equip” listed as the first definition so it makes the main character sound like Steve from minecraft
'sold to valley eldars' is becoming more and more like an rpg
All the shenanigans I’m having to go through in order to translate this correctly are almost as funny as the concept itself. I may have to include a literal translation beneath
I have done it finally. I have made the Little Prince mafia: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37864525
Not even 400 words?
I need to get to work on my main fic
. And I’ll make a sequel
im about to show you horrors beyong your comprehension
I need to finish the skater fic to balance out y'all's nightmares
After lorechat, nothing is beyong my comprehension.
Yesssss. It's glorious.
I want to make a sequel to this, but I also want to continue on a serious story
@keen shore pspspspsps
(if you see this, ash, i am so sorry)
YES THIS IS EXACFLY HOW IF HAPPENED FHANK HOU
i'm dead, yall killed me
The longer I see this the harder I laugh. The eyeshadow. The skater furiously blushing as they write it. Admiring actors face. I am dead
buff actor dealt me psychic damage
buff actor is canon
Fire Prophet is right there

Buff Admiring Actor could beat Wasteland Elder one on one.
If you're asking for a fight you've got one. Meet me in the violence pit
Is Fire Prophet so buff that they take away all other ancestor’s buffness?
You're on. What time?
all the other prophets are skinny so yea
3 PM tomorrow
Understood. I will meet you there wearing a shirt with Buff Actor's face on it.
Can you be buff while skinny?
yes but not always
Guys
Does anyone have good Lamed pics
Generally, actually buff people look 'fat' because of how muscle and stuff actually works
That's Vault Elder, yes?
Here's one I have.
And here is them in Orbit:
look at them glowing
your eminence
Lamed
are you really sorry
Oh my god it worked
I agree why would you apologize for it
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAsh
little did i know that the salt and pepper apple slices comment would get this far
No one should apologize for such a work of art.
Bruh I come back and see what vela did-
I can't-
I'm losing it
Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffrutzie
ASH DO YOU NEED BLEACH IF SO WE'LL GLADLY SURRENDER IT TO YOU
no this made me laugh keep on keeping on
idk how to feel about a dev showing up now of all times
Oh hey it's ash,
I was hoping the first time I'd see a Dev is when we were being funny. Ash is the best
ASH JUMPSCARE ?:??
Admission: this joke fanfiction was the only reason I asked if guru would write fanfics for ts hints
Keep making fanfics like this, I presume. Very well!
You should see Ash when they have free time.
LORE BEANS GALORE
ash can i show you fanart of a non-sky thing of yours i drew
got me there (not the aforemented fanart)
Hey Ash check out this masterpiece/ failure: https://archiveofourown.org/works/37865419
vela u r going to kill me
if yall gonna plug your stuff i'm gonna plug my writing
The juggler opens their pockets. 53 cheese sticks falls out,
Alasdair, nothing if not an opportunist
Well, how else is Buff Actor going to keep all those muscles? Stealing food is a necessity for them.
I can relate
I used to really like these things
I have no idea where to find them now
We got to the lore-dry stage and the season didn't even end yet, and where like this, I Fear For Our Future
The season might as well be over, since the quests are done
I don’t know what you mean. The dreams skater writing fanfics about being sold to both the valley elders and the rhythm spirits is extremely important lore
By the time the next season rolls around this channel will be renamed after one of our fanfics.
I wonder if the next season will be good for lore...
We'll overthrow tgc just so we can have power over only this channel specifically
cant believe i missed ash because i was too busy drawing actor eating cheese
If the theory about some seasonal quests being just us going into spirit memories to help them out is true, imagine dreams skater begging us to do it because spinning mentor found one of their fanfics and won’t stop teasing them about it
I'm pretty sure they had to backread at least a little bit to find that, so the fact that they not only lurk, but backread, is terrifying in a funny way
Is Ash a member of lorechat just as much as us?
Backreading in this channel is always worth it.
The Vault Elder's vault vs orbit outfit look different. Like, the shoulders are off, and their sleeves in orbit look shorter
(Spend too much time thinking of Valley Elders, this is the thousandth time I've made that typo)
Orbit Vault is the relighted, refurbished Vault
hey what if the rhythm troupe were cheese enjoyers but since spin is allergic 2 dairy when they’re all having cheese snacks or something spin will sit there looking at everyone else like
Yesss...do the images, work, though? I can get more if needed.
Buff Actor sneaks down to the kitchen at 2 AM to eat string cheese out of the container.
Ok but what if spin sneaks into the kitchen to eat cheese snack because most lactose intolerance people I know don’t really care about their allergy
They're down there eating cheese together.
-insert spiderman pointing meme-
speaking of actor are they like
ok ingame or
wait that's Admiring Actor?
I imagine it as like deathly allergic to dairy. As soon as spin got ascended they immediafely began to eat cheese out of the bucket
They're just performing their signature dance: "The Chicken".
Not the bucket of cheese
i have a joke hc that the reason spin died was cause they had a latte w dairy since. One of their hints was they liked lattes or something
plant milks exist. speaking of, we see no milkable creatures in sky to our knowledge, did the ancestors use plant milk?
maybe they wanted a taste of one w actual dairy after a life of having dairy substitutes and bam
up to megabird they go
Does that mean cows exist in sky?
Whales perhaps
Now you just got me thinking of all the sky season but a coffee shop AU
i think a dev implied once that mantas have milk and the server took ages to recover
Plot twist: theyre lying about the allergy because they hate dairy too much to consume it but are too afraid of the consequences if they tell the rest of the rhythm troupe that they don’t like dairy, so they pretend it’ll kill them instead
whales do have milk n iirc mantas irl also do but it’s internal so
it’s most likely some sorta now extinct creature we do have those bull masks after all
First we use them to make dark crystals, and now this.
Those poor mantas can't catch a break.
Admiring Cryptid
If you have a straw nearby it's a flying milk box
Mantas, the swiss army knife of animals.
You need horses? Manta
Horse needs to fly? Manta
You need something to turn into a battery? Manta
You need milk? Still mantas
Mantas make the world go round...
Now, do Mantas lay eggs or did the ancestors get those from other birds?
I'm still waiting to the day we use krills like Prairie's manta
I imagine they lay eggs. The two eggs we see in Forest might be from a manta.
Don't Mantas irl give live birth?
I Bring up this quote I said while playing sky to the conversation
I guess so, but then again, the method of reproduction of light creatures might be completely different than what it is on Earth.
irl mantas are mammals thus give live birth thus have milk so the same could be said for Sky mantas
Just remembered tgc got a sky Twitter account, guess I'll have to go to that dark place,
what if. what if the milk came from the anc
huh?
UUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
Ok, I have a feeling this is some sort of cipher, but unfortunately I don't know much about ciphers.
So if anybody here is good a ciphers, could you help out and contribute to this.
I also have a suspicious feeling that TGC could have come up with their own cipher or something.
Also that vault mask kinda looks like an altered version of pigpen(which I stumbled upon in my research)but I'm not certain.
Alright, I'm done for now.
BYEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I know pigpen
I want to help but
1] I know literally nothing about linguistics OR ciphers, so any help from my end would be useless
2] I’m not really sure this is a decipherable language at all and not just gibberish. Trying to decipher it only to learn it’s just random pictures would be a ton of energy wasted that I’m not sure I have to begin with
Oh god it’s already 11 and I forgot to do daily quests because I got distracted by lorechat
Okay first question if this is a pigpen cipher: How do we know if it's dot or no dot?
We don't. I think we just have to do both and see which makes sense, if it even is that.
I wish I could partake, but like Salem, I have dailies to do
I have done dailies. I have stocked up on glowspells. I will eat some chocolate chip cookies and then it is time to die and be reborn
Have you ascended yoga yet?
at 11:35pm?
Why do you need so many glowspells ?
We can ask lore questions about [spoiler] in here?
As long as it's not beta.
So long as it's in the live version. Beta spoilers are banned. If it's about the season after Abyss, for example, you can't talk about it
So something I question about
In the hallway towards storm lock (what I call the hall of children) why are all the winged light sitting down? Is it for design purposes or lore purposes
Center line E/N I/R V/Z S/W ?
Maybe they're in a praying position, hoping for your success.
If we keep expending ourselves to get at that red stone... do we know why? Is it the source of darkness or something? There aren't any darkness plants in Eden (they have different form there?)
We go in there and try again and again to... ?
you are right it is too late
We go in there seemingly to try and save as many petrified Skids as we can before dying and being reborn ourselves. As for why we continue doing it when it keeps being reset and the darkness doesn't seem to stop...we don't really know. It's possible we're receding the storm gradually by doing this with new seasonal areas opening up, but other than that, it doesn't seem to have any effect beyond saving a few statues.
EST Gang
He/she/it is gang unite
Speaking of the red diamond in Eden
So we know someone did something to make Eden like it was, after power diamonds do seem to be the cause of a lot of trouble
So what I think what happened is that someone caused the big power diamond to implode on itself, similar to what black holes do before they become neutron stars
Thank you for this response. I wonder how we explain that the Sky Kids keep ending up in there and turned into statues. They have to be after /something/? There has to be some drive that keeps the little moths heading in that direction and needing saved or else after a few (thousand) trips they would all/mostly be saved and then... ?
WL seem to be somehow created or left behind by other skykids from the conf lore I can remember, although whether it’s a spot where a bunch of them have been like a deskyre (hehe) path, or whether they are conscious gifts and someone before us chose to leave them there, is unknown. There are a bunch of theories on what they are that I am too tired to summarize right now. Either way, they probably represent the emotions of skykids that have been there before us, which is why they’re all sitting down - the skykids who left them there were scared of going into Eden
So your theory is that we are trying to fix the big diamond thing that somehow got broke? That kinda follows since there are so many references to diamonds as a resource. I can see how you could get that we were trying to get in there to turn the thing off (or whatever).
Well, if they keep going and keep getting turned to stone, then it's practically an endless cycle at that point. People go and free statues, only to get petrified themselves, they get reborn, and on and on and on.
correction about the black hole & neutron star thing (cos I'm a space enthusiast): a supermassive star dies in two ways: either by collapsing in on itself, creating a black hole, or by ejecting it's outer mass while it's inner mass collapses, creating a neutron star
From what I can tell it’s either this, or the red Diamond became overcharged somehow [it seems to be underneath the massive Laser That Beams Us Into Heaven, implying maybe it used its light as a power source]
1 Skid : 63 statues, so eventually we should win out the numbers game. Endless only to the last like 2-3 skids who keep saving one another trying to find a way to not have to go back in.
Ah I got my terms fuddled up
Thank you!
Perhaps. Again, we don't really know. We can only theorize as to how it all works.
We should be able to attach a wl to the end of idk a fishing rod or maybe a very long pole and just fling it in the direction of the last few statues. That should work !
If we figure out how to turn our WL into a bow and arrows, Eden would be much easier
Also quick question, why does gearbot keep gearbeaning us? Is this a server or maintenance thing I’m too slow to understand?
in-universe there are prob a fluctuating amount of petrified statues due to skykids saving each other and dying in stormlock in waves. there may be just 63 in-game for technical purposes
Just pack a bunch of them into the Office cannon and shoot from afar.
A machine gun of WL
Ok sure. Fair. I am relying too much on the game mechanic for the explanation, when it might only be a limitation (Later PC version there are 10000s, or INF of statues)
I think that's very likely. After all, the odds that it would be the exact same number with each canonical "reset" is extremely low. Some things are for our convenience, some are for theirs.
something lorechat struggles with is the question of what's true in-universe, what's a gameplay mechanic, and what's a technical limitation?
And we will continue to until the end of tim- I mean, Sky itself.
While we’re on the topic of WL there’s something that’s been bugging me. After we give the elders light in their cutscene they start glowing a bit more and we can see patterns on their clothes that look really similar to the star symbols on the back of our capes, the ones that increase the more WL we get. Their coloration and design also seems very reminiscent of when our flame is extinguished but we still have WL. Is there somehow a connection?
Lol, what.
skybot is drunk

The mods banished skybot
Skybot got taken out by the server censor… the ultimate betrayal
Anyone have a good
joke?
Not for you, Mr. Go-to-bed
Anyway. I think there is a connection there. We don't really know how long the Winged have been around, but it might be safe to say that the Elders were aware of it and used it.
You can fake it all you want. I know you’re not the real Skybot
Loud Gasping
That skybot is not the skybot! Just like how in not a crab,
So you know those little orbs that fall from the sky in laughing light catchers memory? what if they become WL when they touch the ground
"..., but how did they get in there?"
When my friend relived that memory I said it was either pollen or manta droppings. She wanted the pollen option.
wl very likely didn't exist during the ancestors era because it is never depicted in murals or spirit memories.
But on Prairie there's a statue of what it seems to be a skykid with a cape that has a wing level
I want to agree with that because it makes sense if they come from skykids, but… how does that explain the markings on the elders ?
We don't know how old that statue is, or if it's even important.
Well, it's possible the Winged were made based off some of those markings.
whenever skykids were made, they might've taken/borrowed those markings from the Elders. especially considering that both are sent from Megabird to lead the beings on the world
tbh the only markings skykids and Elders share are the < 🔷 > on their clothing
I mean maybe, it just seems a bit… I don’t know how to explain it. It feels like a hint, although trying to think of what it might mean is hurting my tired brain right now. Your idea does seem possible and [if I ever use the marking idea to construct an actual theory] I will consider it as a counter argument
I’m pretty sure they have the little diamonds beneath too, let me see if I can find a pic
Don't same places have the elders/ancestors referring to the kids as 'their children' even though we know they're not the same species?
A common trope of 'creator races' in other stories.
If we are candles, then are we not forged? :D
Yeah, but they didn't create us. They knew we were coming though
I’m going to go to bed now and try to think about this more over the night. Good night everyone. 💛 I’m too exhausted to think right now
edit: tjank you alaskdair
Sweet dreams.
ye, probs symbolic
I know it's not literal but I meant in like, 'yeah they might have passed stuff to the kids;
Referenced Sky Child Statue, showing Diamonds on chest and front.
Back diamond appearing to represent a single WL wedge. (Conjecture)
Front diamond which I understand to be our "light/candle" as it disappears when we hold out our candle. (Conjecture?)
the < 🔷 > symbol is on the back of default clothes too
I will have to watch for it next time I'm in Orbit. It is definitely pervasive amongst the culture in this land... I hate to compare it to the < $ > symbol, but it appears to be a resource (Re: Abyss quests) as pervasive. Containers, Art pieces, Clothes, possibly magical-effects, Big Red. Strange that we don't seem to find any of them normally. Even in the Abyss quests we appear to be finding existing hordes of the things, not pulling them out of some originating/creating source.
what < $ > symbol?
I'm pretty sure some light creatures and manta have those ◆ things as well, so maybe the elders and alive spirits saw that on the light creatures and added that to their clothes or culture because they thought it had some connection with light, like the crystals we see all around that react to candles, they're also ◆ shaped
The < $ > Symbol (or its other cultural equivalents) is similarly present in IRL
you mean the money sign
It is not uncommon for cultures to put a representation of their primary resource unit on all of their stuff. Both as small form of worship, and as a status symbol to denote wherewithal.
when I'm referring to < 🔷 > I mean this, I'm not referring to 🔷 on it's own
I see
that symbol is both on skykids' base-game clothing and the Elders, as well as elsewhere. not just the diamond on it's own, I'm talking about the diamond with the carrots on the sides
First thought on <🔹> (other than its similarity to Season of Belonging, which may or may not be relevant), is that is either an exaggeration or possessive of the lone 🔹. Containment? Connection of 🔹 to being in some way? Probably reaching too hard here.
I'd like to mention this, birds and mantas seem to have the lone ◆ shaped symbol in them as well,
there's a thought that the diamond initially represented the Light/Megabird
as such, symbolizing a being that they're one with light
I see, but for me that just muddies things. I was on the way to deciding that maybe, based on the <🔹> symbol that maybe we are golems. Golems with some self awareness and autonomy(Re: Eden 'Death(?)' Loop)?
Either now the birds are similarly wrought, or that shape is being pervasive in their world and then copied, not unlike how we stick butterflies or lightning bolts on everything.
Also eyes seem to be optional to perception required for [what we apparently 'see']. Same for mouths... here we are accepting the consumption of things not of material form (Maybe they absorb sunlight or some such).
I don't think your first picture counts, because that's a decoration for someone's head. Are there instances of anything, except the low rez white bird shapes? Skid/spirit hands could have decorated the bird art with a diamond.
I've also heard theories where the white diamond is the creature's eye.
Yes that's right. Mantas are cyclops.
I think the only birds we ever see are the low rez ones and the hair accessory,
If🔹's can be an 'eye' representation we got all kinds of crazyness
To be fair, we have a giant shrimp like thing with a color switching spotlight that has multiple smaller eyes hidden, and it can fly
Remember they were like mining 🔹 and 🔷 's come in different sizes or something. What all 🔹in the ground are eyes (that survive the passage) they are digging up ?
yea...
Like, at some point you have to go "This is a fantasy setting and real world logic doesn't apply" but like, when
EYES?????
HOLD UP! The isle cave with a bunch of candles says 'As SPIRITS we soon became many' and then some dialogue about creating the kingdom like this. I'm resetting isle to get vids
Bruh
Im confused
When you first go into isle, the first cave with the white candles that gives you your mission? That one
They refer to themselves as spirits before the kingdom's fall. I'm mildly miffed about it because it means something and I don't have the words to explain!
Don't worry, you're not the only one who had a hard time with the intro!
Lorechat is either sleeping on the intro or I'm missing something. Wouldn't be the first time I've been too literal
That wording of the intro was actually the reason for my theory about the spirits never surviving the descend to begin with.
At least it implies ancestors' civilazition has always been spirits.
Skybrah's fun fact of the day: 8 hours of sneep snorp a day keeps Dark Dragons away
Mr. Conjecture tried to pick at the intro to see what it was about, maybe I can get his docs
No one wants you here!
I'm sorry Skybot, that was mean of me.
I'm gonna trim these vids I took on my switch
I finished posting them all, but I don't think I can just link my twitter in skycord...
Hey Enn
May I DM you Conjecture's docs?
I'm always free to ping or DM
I saw this in one of the spirit “memories”
Yep, some theorize this could be the child in Prophecy!
This is why people think the king is a sky kid
(didn't they call themselves thatsadbot earlier?)
The part of that idea I don’t get is how and why spirits would construct all these physical buildings, ride live mantas, and use real swords and shields.
Yes, I think that's one of the most important questions and I don't have a good answer for it.
One attempt would be that interactions with 'objects' made of light - like the mantas - wouldn't necessarily be of a physical nature but a spiritual one. But that idea still wouldn't cover obvious physical objects as the many constructions in the game.
Another thought - though far fetched - is that some magic allowed for that interaction. And maybe that's where darkstone and power crystals come into play, but it's not a mature theory. You're right about that.
Maybe spirits work a little differently here in Sky.
But if it was a civilization inhabited by spirits from the start...
Does that mean Sky is purgatory?
Okay okay, Ash has said they are dead, though.
Here is something.
Supposing that Sky could be a spirit world for souls to journey through before ascending to the after life. It is possible.
The switch trailer shows a family of spirits traveling, and they look very much not ghosty.
Yeah. They were alive at one point.
In the sky kingdom.
Probably the Sky kingdom?
Agreed. Aside from the little prince, the trailer ancestors are the only truly living humanoid beings seen in the game (lore wise).
Even with Skykids being alive, they are not mortal.
Note that even if the Little Prince can be classified as immortal based on the things he can do, he at least appears a living child, whereas skykids are only imitations.
anyone can be immortal in fiction
I'm still not jiving with 'sky kids are fake kids'. They're kids, they're just not human kids. That doesn't mean they're imitating kids, it just means their biology is alien to us
Sky's world probably has a different definition of "living organism"
i thought they were just empty stone, clay (etc) shells/vessels with sentient light inhabiting them
In basic terms, yes.
By Alasdair:
My Working Theory on the Composition of a Skykid
–clothing, hair, masks & other cosmetics made of light.
–a humanoid physical shell made of some magic-induced earthen material (i.e. clay, stone, ash, charcoal, meteorite) that has a hole in the chest and eyes.
–this hollow shell is full of light, such as winged light and neutral light.
–their cape, a manifestation of winged light.
–their flame, manifesting as the light in the hole in their chest and held outside their bodies via a red candle.
–their soul, appearing as a blue sparkle.
edit: yeah most of us believe in that my dear void cat
Clay theory isn't canon, it's just the most popular theory
fruitzie you've send me this message 10 times
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT
I’d think sky kids are a bit like Peter Pan in a way.
Their forever kids, maybe not kids in the way we see them but they hold that child like perspective (maybe not innocence)
They could be in a similar category as Pinocchio, as far as I understood it.
Something/someone that was made with love and care, and has been given life by a supernatural being.
Both have the potential to become real children, though it is matter if they are proven worthy.
I think they're already 'worthy'. I don't think they're gonna poof into ancestor kids one day. The elders aren't 'fake adults' just because they're not ancestors.
If "real child" meant "child with human biology", I don't think most skykids would want that.
- We're squishy
- We're not fireproof
- We're too dense to fly
there's a few more messages but i don't wanna go lookin for em (point is i've said "oh skids are like this) then you replied to me with the same message (this exact same one) a couple of times now)
it's getting a bit annoying
Fruitzie really loves Alasdair's anatomy theories
Sorry for the lorebot tendencies
Here's a new tidbit
Yeah, that new meter that appears when swimming definitely did NOT complicate things at all!
easy answer for that: fire, fire requires oxygen to continue burning, water would limit the oxygen supply (i don't know how light plants + fish work but shh)
The fish look like paper to me
Well yes, but we didn't always have that revelation down pat
@rapid arrow who wants to see Commodore wield a knife fish
It's possible it's a magic spell the kids are using.
I got this screenshot and would like to post this question.
When a skykid loses their light (as in, they still have winged light, even if this picture of a skykid with 0 winged light), would they still have a flame inside them?
What begs this question is how the skykid is covering their chest.
This is either them being hurt, or they are trying to protect the last bit of flame in them, but then the light still glows from them.
The eyes are a bust seeing the model has them shut for this moment. I am against the idea of them being blinded, therefore would accept squinting or closing them to hide the light.
What if a skykid can still keep a flame in them, almost like a pilot light, but that flame is too weak to spread through the body, maintain their strength and glow brightly. What if the light in them is dying, and the skykid is willing to hold on to the last bit of their life till the end?
Even if the screeenshot does not show it, the chest light is out as it usually is in this state, but the glow under them still remains.
Would this be a bug, or a hidden feature?
which kid is yours
The dark one at the front.
I'd like to add to that thought and go back a bit to the puzzle of Spirits existing from the start vs. the very much corporeal ancestors we see in the switch trailer:
What if the term 'Spirits' doesn't refer to classical ethereal beings but to the ancestors in general as some kind of otherworldly beings in the whome cycle? And what we see in today's Sky kingdom is echoes and memories of them which is the reason they appear incorporeal.
Dunno if that makes much sense
The glowing bodies only appear if you closed the app and re-joined the game.
I think they're just injured, and instinctually covering what should be a vulnerable place on themselves. (Assuming dying doesn't make the spot actively hurt)
Yeah. Vulnerable. Because their light is directly exposed there. If you need as much light as possible so you can save your hordes of dead friends, who wouldn't want to protect it from being wasted on the rocks?
Spirits can mean ghosts, spectre, souls or any variant of a departed being.
A person that was once alive, but has died, and their spirit has not passed on ever since.
A ghost of a person in real life is believed to be stuck inbetween two worlds. That of the living, and the dead. The spirit world in some folklore can also be associated as being in a state of limbo, or purgetory. Where they are not entirely in the other world (the realm of the dead), but they remain partly in the world of the living.
It is unclear of these spirits were present or able to contact any living ancestors during the time there were any. But it is clear they have been there for a long time. Haunting the place, being trapped, with reliving their memories.
As far as I know that's not the only definition for spirit. At least in my language there is another one which means something like spark of life or soul
it is not necessarily linked to departed beings
About skykids and feeling. There is a difficult matter to deal with.
Players are emotional, and skykids can simulate emotions with the emotes they are taught.
The only true moments we can a skykid do to show emotions are the heart beats.
Heart beating is only heard in 2 occasions. When they are in contact with a friend, or they are about to die.
These moments are not in the players control, as in they cannot make a skykid's heartbeat louder.
Those two moments when their heartbeat rises is the peaks of their emotions.
is there proof for that?
I mean the part that skykids don't feel emotions and rather mimick them?
There is proof that skykids show emotions without emotes.
In the elder cutscenes or something.
I did once try to defend the argument that we weren't born with emotions.
I failed.
Sky kids really like holding hands with their friends.
But the thing about that is, sky kids seem to be in-tuned to life in general. The uncorrupted wildlife seems to love sky kids. Mantas have an excuse in that they may be heavily domesticated and used to people, but even fish go right up to us without fear. I'm not shocked that kids can feel their friend's heartbeat (or their own)
To me, Skykids not having emotions doesn't sound very convincing.
Emotes aren't the same as emotions. Emotes are a way to express emotions in my view. Which is a big difference.
Even human babies are born with emotions. They just can't express them. Which they learn how to do as they grow and see examples/gain finer motor control. I don't know why a sky kid would be different.
Aaaaaaand that's one of the reasons why it failed.
Those elder cutscenes need to be reviewed.
Yes, that makes a lot more sense to me
yeah I've heard born blind peeps can smile when happy
If skykids are just like that in that regard then it's probably for the sense of relatability
We also can't see their faces because of the masks. Facial queues are basically shot, save for their eyes sometimes squinting. (They're useless for me anyway)
Ah, that is true.
Players cannot do anything in cutscenes. Meaning what a skykid does in them are genuine to them and not what a player would make them do.
Personally, skykids start out blank, and as time goes on, they grow and develop personalities.
This is in part of what the player does, and based on what happens in later season cutscenes (ex. flight season with skykids helping the spirits compare to earlier season with a simple bell ring interaction in season of belonging).
In theory, a seeing guardian of a blind child can teach them facial expression through touch.
There's the idea that canonically, different skykids tackle different spirits and/or seasons, and that's what helps develop their personality, and explains why Megabird needs to make so many of us.
Some of it is definitely instinct.
Now I'd like to add to that. A lot of our facial expressions is innate behaviour we have from the start.
We don't need to learn basic facial expressions and we don't need to see others producing them.
We just need the motor skills to do it
Facial expression is not the same as emotional expressions. They're linked, yes. But not the same thing
Unless you have certain types of neurodivergency, that is.
Don't ask me more, though.
For some. Smiling for example is observable even before birth. It's a very basic "muscle algorithm"
Do you think sky kids could get hurt, like their outside body getting broken and they have to patch it up to heal
Not a theory, but my headcanon is that we can crack our shells, and if we do, our inner light will absorb nutrients from the ground to repair it with
Cause I mean if the shells are light enough to allow us to fly, they shouldn’t be able to survive all the falls without some damage
Since I have an idea what you're referring to, I will of course not get into that .
In case I hurt you with my statement, I'd like to apologize. I didn't mean: "Every person can smile. Deal with it." That would be a very ableistic statement. I' genuinely sorry if it sounded like that.
What I meant was, that the ability for facial expression is there for every person.
What society thinks is an appropriate expression to show at a given situation, is sadly a completely different thing. And it can become an issue as of course - not every person projects and experiences emotions the same way.
No, it wasn't offensive to me at all. I'm not neurodivergent (Okay that may not be true I do doubt myself at times) . I was just stating something that's been said before.
Sometimes I wonder if the kids just naturally express emotions differently the same way spirits don't care about gender. It can be heavily cultural, and we're looking at them through a human lens
ah yes...
Humanity cannot comprehend HONK
Just as we have once hypothesized that humans cannot comprehend megabird
Honestly we are never really given a gender, for all we know our little stars could be gender less
I think they are genderless, as are the elders, (and the ancestors too, but differently).
That said my kid is a cute girl and I will not hear otherwise /jk
By the way, I love the honk as a way of communication. In the beginning it's kinda annoying you can't talk to people properly but once I got used to it, it's pretty mind blowing that you can have actual conversations via honk.
YOU LOSE YOUR GENDER WHEN YOU DIEEEEE
( a headcanon I heard here once )
Not lose, transcend
Through homkse code?
honk honk honk HOOOOONK HOOOONK HOOOONK honk honk honk
The true winners of sky are the players who know morse code
Well no, by offering actions and getting honks as an reaction from another player, you can get an idea of what they want to do
it's rudimentary though. I'll give you that
Does Honk SOS actually work?
I mean the general kind.
While a blind person can feel their face, and can make an expression, some can be taught how to make certain ones from seeing people.
I am not blind nor do I know any personally, I can imagine the possibility of a person can develop a strange resting face out of habit untill a partner that can see helps guide them.
No, because people ignore it. I have watched as someone saw me honking in vault and ran the entire hallway away from me. Like dude, just come help me open the basement
so you HAVE HonkSOS before?
If you mean actual morse code, no, and I misunderstood what u meant. Either way people need to give places a quick check if they see a lot of honks
a series of short honks = someone trying to get anyone's attention, or berating another skykid.
a series of medium calls = calling for help
a series of long calls = charging someone up/ calling for help
a lone call is likely a skykid checking or responding to other skykids in the area.
I may be wrong, but that is what it looks like to be the general lingo.
Ah, I think I get what you mean. Only I don't see the need to change someone's resting or thinking face 🤔
do you want to test that?
In-game we don't have bonk damage anymore.
So:
"Help me/I'm mad at u"
"Help me"
"Help me/I'll help you"
And
"Am I alone?" "No"
(Accidentally thought too hard about the last one and gave myself psychic damage)
I think first one is more like "Over here!!!/ I'm mad at u"?
If I want someone to know my location I want their help tho
"Am I alone?" "Yes and I'm gonna die alone"
Two different people Fruitzie
makes sense
"Am I alone? ... Yes and I'm gonna die alone"
This is how kids feel before they get the hug in eden
Like I said, that is based on what I have seen in general.
Skykid language is not an exact science.
I was joking. Tbh I think you're spot on
I know, just wanted to end the topic there.
I usually either spam short honks when someone isn’t lighting their part in the eight person lift or if I see a friend. In my case it’s “LIGHT IT ALREADY/Help me open this/Friend!!”
One singular honk is a hello
I like honking once at strangers doing wierd stuff like "are you ok"
I usually receive lots of short honks when I’m in Tall Moth mode
I’m tall in game so when I put on the moth outfit it looks cursed
Jeez, the eight person lift. The flashbacks from having to do spam honks to get people to pay attention there are…very numerous.
Tall Moth is uncanny, and Chibi Moth is too powerful
It looks fine without size comparison
yah tue
If it was possible for sky kids to lose cosmetics this is what would happen
I actually have an idea about growth in sky kids
What if, assuming skids can grow, going through Eden resets growth to whatever the base height is. The height change potions change your base height
And growing is pretty slow in the first place
Ooooo that’s an interesting idea
Skids doing honks around me is adorable because even though they look like these grey figures before I light them, there would be a couple of them occasionally doing honking sessions near me to get my attention because they want to light, and I find it wholesome to see this as a normal social thing for skids to do
My favorite thing is when I do a single honk greeting, and they respond, so I respond in a pattern and they mimic the pattern
Ah yes, the endless loop
I do that too! It's so fun to do!
I can tap very fast so I often do a very fast burst of 3
It's only a matter of time til players inevitably create a morse code style language with honks
And then I befriend them
I also do occasional honks when leading somebody I'm not friends with, both to keep track of them as well as "tell" them what they could do if they find themselves alone in the same situation
What if Skykids grew in maturity as they complete their travels through the realms and Eden time and time again ?
A moth stares up at a giant sky kid who wandered back from vault
I took that as literally GREW by the way… you seen how tall the elders are?!
I’ve had that idea as well, but it was more of a “When you’re reborn from Eden you get a slightly more grown body”
Also while I'm here, is there a place with the basic lore compiled to read up on? The will to figure out what's going on is powerful
I want to be wasteland elder height. Make me unbelievably tall as I try to do a candle run
Aggressive light and a low rumbling HÖNK as I approach
Still unable to do anything against krill
There's a lore doc but it's outdated, let me dig that up rq

A moth just sees a shadow on the ground cross over them and they look up and are faced by GIANT VETERAN
Thanks. Outdated is better than nothing
Krill would flee in terror at the sight of a moth the size of a eighteen wheeler.
The game would become shadow of the colossus but friendly
I suggest you check out the pins too !
That's the plan! There's a lot to go through the more I look at it
New and small players become critically important for going in small areas and bringing back wax in exchange for protection and transport
I was suggesting growth through the journey because the realms are based off stages of life, so...
That would be really cool as well
Valley is the peak? Of life/civilization? So when you’re there you would be tallest
Like moths obviously aren't middle-aged when reaching GW for the first time, but maybe after enough time wandering the kingdom...
I can now see a situation of a tiny new moth with a cute honk with a wasteland elder sized behemoth of a tall veteran whose mere footsteps rumbles the ground
Wait, does that mean we would be hunched over like Isle Elder as time goes on?
Giant potion says it makes you adult sized, so we got a scale for how big adult sky kids are
Seems like our characters will grow to be a bit smaller than ancestors lol.
So Adult Sky Kids would be no bigger than teenagers, it seems.
Manlets is what the kids are
I mean, they are ancestor sized. Has anyone measured a spirit ?
Someone please measure all of the spirits and get the average, tallest, and shortest possible heights of them
The most important priority are the Prophecy spirits: how did Anubis Mask grow?
Oop
Isn’t the vault elder 5,2?
I’m taller than the Vault Elder!
I am the same height as the vault elder?
Isn't the vault elder different heights in the game?
The OOB elder on the Vault island, the OOB Vault elder in the All Elder cutscene and the Vault Elder in Orbit?
I have no idea
I'm taller than the Vault Elder!
Like and retweet if you're taller than the Vault Elder
Do you guys think wl are other sky kids like us? I have a theory that they were a type of sky kid that came before us that got wiped out but their light still remains in the world
Especially since after orbit we hug the other skid that is all dark. I think the first set of statues we "revive" in Eden are the first kids but once you get further past where there are places to heal it's us.
My current theory surrounding WL is that they are apart of ourselves and that we a sort of connected to the king
So basically the Winged light were prototype skids that failed in their mission? That’s an interesting theory. But if they failed and we’re…not failing, presumably, I wonder what the difference between us was. Did they have the ability to be corrupted? Or maybe since the Winged don’t have capes, they didn’t have the ability to naturally fly like the ancestors.
I'd assume that winged light are agents sent by Megabird and the Elders to help us
I had another theory is that some sky kids were born into the spirit generation and were considered "special" so when the storm happened they were hidden. Their physical forms were wiped out but their light remains. That would explain why they are in hidden or protected areas
I think they didn't have the sense of community like we did. They were more solo and couldn't team up. That's why they failed and are spaced so far apart from each other
That would also fit with why some are in hidden places. They were more introverted than us and wanted to be in places where they could be alone.
My still running theory is that they are fragments of the King, and the king started losing their light as they became more corrupt when the lost all their light that caused Eden and the power diamond to boom and then collapse in on itself
And it also explains why the one at the end was sitting by themselves and we go up to hug it. Like "hey I know you worked so hard on your own but we're trying to fix this all together"
So if that’s the case, instead of giving our light to the statues there could be a “stage” where we give all of our Winged to the King and cure him.
That’s the cutscene in the void we’re we hug the light child
We’re reuniting with someone who made us who we are
I think we had a theory about what the end of Eden would look like and it was similar to this. A big group going in together to put their light into something big
Half of my theory’s are really just me thinking things while I’m bored in English class
I think after the official end to Eden we would go back into the world, rebuild it, and maybe even create our own towns and houses
I like the idea that Eden would never end. More angsty
I think if Eden never ended then we would be just like the sky kids before us that failed their mission
Maybe that could be an end to the story. We’re not even the last generation of Sky kids. Instead, we only serve as another attempt and possible example to the ones of the future on what not to do and how to save the world.
I fancy idea of Eden being reborn. It would finish a cycle that we have been repeating for much longer but Eden isn’t meant to be saved. In my mind Eden can’t be saved. The damage is irreversible
Let me have a happy ending 😭😭😭. I want to see the krill as light creatures. They're good boys deep down
I had the innate belief that the reason the Skids keep trying to go to Eden with all their WL is not just to rescue others, but to try and return the light to a source that isn't functioning properly without it
I agree with this but maybe a separate game or a video of the past in similar fashion to the switch trailer
I'm waiting for the day when the devs release a statement about the season of Eden
I want a chance to play the fall of the kingdom
I think we discussed this. They’re not there for the Statues, but because of their natural good nature they can’t help but give their light up to save the others and that’s why they always fail.
I'd love to see another area to Eden. They haven't shied away from showing the past in memory form. I know the Vault, in its own weird way, may not even theoretically be real until the very end when we're at the top. Maybe we could get a 'memory' area of Eden to show what might have happened that led to the actual maelstrom it currently is.
What if we already defeated Eden but every time we get reborn, we get sent to the past to keep powering up the attack right before the final push. It already happened but we get sent back before we can see the end
Why would that happen? And if we were sent to the past, then wouldn’t the new seasonal areas not be open?
Maybe not the exact past we started. We slowly move forward each time. Eventually we get closer and closer to see the end. Because even though we all started playing at different times, we live through seasons together at the same time
OOO OO
I remembered something
One thing that usually makes me avoid all this complicated time stuff is the when Eden exploded is disrupted how time flows
It explains seasons pretty well
Just going through Eden disrupts the time. Like how pnr traps you in it and you can go anywhere but there (or just preventing us from snatching all those wl and running with it) I like the idea of Eden changed the flow of time
A part of me would like to imagine how the concept of hotels would work in the world of sky
Unrelated to everything i just think that would be an interesting thing to see since people clearly lived in that world instead of just running around it like we do in game
I'd honestly imagine anything akin to a hotel would be similar to the homes seen in areas like the wind tunnel hub or the treehouses, just bigger
maybe they just camp out and that’s why there’s random campfires all over the place
I am beginning to wonder if WL is like skykid spirit memories
there's a line from the lost livestream that winged light is "the imprints of the children of the light," which has shaped my view of them.
Since they are imprints they are merely the impression of skykids, not skykids converted into something else but something their presence has left behind. One cannot become winged light, but one or more skykids do make them by just existing in the world in addition to some other factor.
One theory suggests they appear where many skykids have been and coalesce into winged light, like creating a well-treaded path in the woods by many footsteps — hence why they appear in the same spots. In-game they may be in the same spot for gameplay accessibility but in-universe they could land anywhere. We do know that winged light did not exist before skykids existed because they are never depicted in murals or spirit memories.
as for Eden
I believe the futility we face in Eden is one of skykids' own making. Whatever skykids were originally supposed to do in Eden is up to debate, yet they aren't strong enough to make it far without dying. Skykids could just buff themselves up with light and charge on past their fellow peers' corpses to get to the center, but they have such a love for each other that they can't help but give up their own light to save their petrified friends, weakening themselves so they will ultimately succumb to the darkness in the point of no return. This leaves more bodies for other skykids to save, weakening themselves in turn, dying, and sustaining the cycle.
perhaps that's why there are so much winged light in Eden – so many skykids have sacrificed themselves to save others and continue to do it, following the same route, manifesting winged light as they walked past. The path they took to their deaths has been the same for numerous skychildren thus dense with the echos of their presense.
Finally. It is complete! ||I have completely rewritten all 44 chapters of My Immortal but made it Sky themed and edited out all the bits that no one wants to read. Anyone who wants to read the full thing can DM me for it and I will send it to them.|| Read at your own Peril.
Maybe we can consider it to be a prequal to the fic about that girl being adopted by the Valley Elders.
I ended up forgetting to elaborate on this but here is the explanation my idea. It’s mostly shaped by the message to “return the light of the fallen” that we get in Eye of Eden, which as much as I like alasdair’s interpretation of WL and have used it up to this point, ended up wanting an interpretation that focused on that aspect a little more.
So we know spirit memories are a thing, right? It’s currently debated on how they’re created, how they work, why they’re in each specific spot and so on, one that I’ve also been trying to explain because I feel like it ties into this particular topic a lot, but essentially they seem to be corrupted memories of a particular point in that spirit’s life and our job is to burn away the corruption and relive them so they can move on. Some memories are really important and probably formative to the spirit’s personality or life as a whole, but most are small and mundane.
My idea, basically, is that whatever mechanism that allowed these memories to imprint on the land and be left behind in the first place also works on Skykids, specifically the memories of ones who have died in Eden. WL is like our version of reliving and burning away the corruption of spirit memories; we have to take it with us to their original owners at Eden, hence why we absorb it, they rely on skykids to be created in the first place, and since WL are not corrupted, we don’t have to burn their corruption away at all. Since they’re made of skykids’ inner light and we absorb them, they necessarily strengthen our light and merge with it [similar to how light merges with the Light after death maybe?] so it hurts to rip them out, because even though they don’t belong to us, they’ve changed to become part of us, and we’re ripping a part of ourselves out as well. They are souls that want to return to their original owners and that’s why they compel us to head towards Eden, where their original bodies are.
I always thought wl saw SOMETHING in the sky coming towards them because all of them are looking up and usually facing the temple
skykid desire paths
re: pulling out winged light seems to hurt: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
it's like taking off a bandaid – the adhesive stuck to your skin and hair stings a lot when you start pulling, but if you rip there's that moment of intense pain. once it's off, your skin is sore, maybe you lost a couple body hairs.
There are a few weird bits with this idea that I’m working on thinking through:
1] if the WL merges to become part of us and they’re other skykids’ souls originally, does our personality leave imprints or some kind of influence on their original owners’ personalities even after it’s torn away? I will not lie, I really like this implication because I enjoy putting souls in The Soup and mixing them together. However, it can be limiting because it implies that after [x] amount of years living as skykids and being reborn through Eden, whoever participated would eventually start acting and thinking really closely to one another.
2] Why do WL need to find their original bodies to move on when ancestor spirits do not? I’m not really sure on this one. My first try idea is that maybe the shells are as much a part of us as the inner light is, so we need them as well to move on instead of forming new ones, but that conflicts with a lot of common headcanons so I’m not sure. Plus it implies that those shells in Eden have some level of consciousness because they’re still like… 1/2? 1/4? however much they make up of what a skykid Is, which I obviously like because it’s horrifying but is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea
