It's also possible Prophecy Guide was chosen for no greater purpose and simply became their leader by chance. They pick up this kid because they can't just leave him alone and whoops, turns out he grows up to be leader material (and that's assuming he wasn't as old as them and their leader from the start)
The intro art with them being shorter Does seem to imply they grew up which I have latched on to because it is a cute idea
And because like mentioned earlier it provides good narrative parallel to the king
Awww
Here’s what I mean. How could they fit in?
Baudshaw that's just stylistic. The entrance is far away
In my fanfiction, the Prophecy Guide becomes a rival to the King and fights him
The only info i read from Ash during one of the ts hint section, was that
prophecy guide wrote plays, and prophets are the actors of the play.
Even in game, it’s so narrow that the Fire Prophet couldn’t fit!
the dude can turn sideways
I’m convinced it’s the whales like we see in Eden as we ascend, in the Underground Cavern in the forest, and between the valley and wasteland
AHH. Just like The Rhythm Crew are famous musicians, The Prophets are probably famous actors. It would be cool if every seasonal spirit we met was actually a famous one in universe.
He can suck in his gut if need be,
I like stuff like this. The ancestors were people, even when they had mystic-y jobs like prophets
imagine he does get stuck, what now?
Would the prophets help push him through or pull him back out?
They would just pull him through.
also the guide is the only one who can drive so they have to drive everyone else around. I can’t remember where this piece of info is from but it feels canon
He needs to be in the cave for the trials, and the devs wanted them to live in the cave, but adding living quarters wasn't viable in the end.
Ash said that. One of fire prophet's hints was that he didn't have a license and it spiraled.
The part about colors is particularly interesting. Before a Krill spots us, it’s light is blue, obviously we know it’s searching for any Sky people. Thus, in my opinion, only hammering home the idea of the Eden war in my theory. Krill sent to find and kill the Sky people for the corruption of the Star
I’ve always thought that it made sense that the one who completed the trials would be the leader of the Prophets
Hahaa i think that was from the ts hints of earth prophet
i just pictured the prophecy spirits in a golf cart
"Didn't have a license." I would love to imagine that he used to but something happened that got it taken away from him. Took a boat out for a joyride and something happened that resulted in his name as "Prophet of Fire"...because he might have set quite a few with that one.
I rmb someone drew a fanart of prophet spirit group on a theme park splash boat game thing ( sorry idk what that calls)😂
I think Ash said 'none of the ancestors have licenses because cars don't exist in sky'. So it was a literal hint, but then we all went 'human au says only prophecy guide can drive lul'
Log Ride!
What about boat😆
Flight navigator did speed races
-shrug- guess ancestor culture never invented them
good for them
did they use mantas like horses??
I pretty sure its stages of life. Like i understand your logic but those giant whales kinda resemble the king krill for me now. But i think the fish and mantas and giant whale thing are all at different stanges of life, but basically the same creature. And after reviewing the concept art, I'm just stick to what I see.
more or less, but sure.
They pulled boats and were ridden in races.
Yeah, mantas were flying horses. Mantas and Butterflies were also used as a power source. Crabs and Fish were used as food.
was searching on top of the temples for masks (because prairie and forest temples have symbols on top of their doors referencing the old concept art for each elder, and I wanted to see if it continued) and noticed that after forest, instead of the masks, this symbol appears above each temple door.
Oh my goodness...i just saw this art.... it looks like the crabs were origionally creatures of light!!!
they look adorable.
Edit: i do not regret looking at the concept art. These are beautiful 😍
Edit 2: I also really do think they are depicting to some degree stages of life.
if the king statues counted to have 'faces', then the them sort of picks back up in wasteland. Except as turrets.
I have a theory that these symbols represent the elders and that when arranged in a four way pattern, they represent unity. in wasteland and valley, you can see this specific arrangement which may be referencing the wasteland + valley elders (one “whole” one and two identical “split” ones.
An example of them representing unity can be seen in vault where they’re arranged in this four way pattern. Two important things to note about this symbol and its location:
1] the amount of diamonds (both inset and on the outside, 8 in total) line up with amount of elders incl the king: 1 for each realm, 2 valley elders, 1 king = 8 total
2] it is located outside the room with the massive table, which seems too big for ancestors to sit on or is at least not made for them
it may also be a generalized light symbol similar to the more circular symbol in prairie’s docks, if elders are more connected to the light and if darkstone [connecting it to the similar symbol seen in refineries, where darkstone is refined] functions as a light battery.
im,,, i think it's a matter of perspective, fire prophet is big but i think you got fooled by perspective
Get him a chibi mask and he can get in and OUT of anything. XD
I do wonder why Fire is biggest, though. You’d think that would work against them when doing the actual trial, with the smoke monsters and all that.
fire prophet is biggest because love is stored in there
Maybe he ploughed through them smoke monsters like a bulldozer
They took one look at his mask and turned the other way.
this symbol appears again on the masks of the two spirits in the first two realms that wear their elders’ masks, once again suggesting it is connected to the elders in some way, shape, or form
sorry for the image spam and text walls just needed to get this out before I forgot
what does this say about the short spirits (like flight guide)? full of hidden violence?
and chibis, dont forget about those
Cough, ankle biters, cough.
Lie: fire prophet can’t fit in the fire trial caves
Truth: the caves are shaped like that because they widened them singlehandedly by just crushing straight through formerly solid rock
fire prophet is probably sky chuck norris
Fire Prophet could probably walk right through a building, crush it, and not even notice.
kool aid man
We love the Fire Prophet
yes I love them very much they are my favorite spirt
FIRE PROPHET MY FRIEND
I wish we were allowed to hug them. You cannot make a spirit that friend shaped and expect us not to want to give em a hug… it’s the law
turns out i was drawing just that... prophecy moths after the fire trial
i want to hug them just to see how badly we clip, tgc hugging ts when 💥💥
Fire Prophet could hug every child in the Kingdom of Sky at once.
fire prophet is so big bc they were made to hug a lot of people at once
Since fire trial is supposed to test your courage and be really scary… I can definitely see this happening to calm them down afterwards
I think the calming down part would be when they get to destroy the smoke monsters.
also I love how you draw their mask with the :3 face vela
kitty,,,,
They’re like a reverse cat. instead of a bunch of them piling on top for snuggles (what cats do) a bunch of people pile on top of THEM for snuggles
Fire Prophet in a nutshell:
shoutout to fire proph my fav cat person
oh fire proph probably would pile on top of someone, they are just aware they are big & dont want to hurt anyone. but...
I’m right here :’( /j
It’s ok Salem. You’re MY favorite cat person

Fire Prophet is the perfect furry
Like a Russian nesting doll or something, with a sleepy Crab on top of the Moth.
GUYS
I FOUND SOMTHING INTRESTING IN EDEN
It's almost similar to the runic stave(rate) of the ancient Slavs
Protect property, eh? So I’m guessing it’s meant to protect Eden from outside stuff.
It's on Vault roof
Protecting Knowledge maybe....
It's intresting
That would make sense. The Vault was a pretty restricted area.
Talking abt vault gigantic table… and elders’ height
Are elders a lot bigger then other spirits….fire prophet, yeti are huge, but nth compare to elders in the cutscenes.
I am going to count the number of stools next to the giant table next time
Did they got magically bigger after being selected as elders
king looks like a titan on the mural of vault ending cutscene
yup, I was expecting that. I shall not post this message on this channel, that I worked on for the past 20 minutes.
I have an idea of what may have triggered the bot. But that was unnecessary.
…What was the message about? I was actually looking forward to that.
Pagan (if this is not the word, then I am annoyed) Slavic gods compared to sky elders
That is the word.
huh.

It is interesting that there are apparently 7 known gods, and they vaguely line up with the elders.
That and there is an 8th one that created everything, but later on disappeared.
Here is a rough list to touch on it (note, this is not an intense study of the Slavic gods in ✴️ Russia, these are just a passing comparisons):
Perun (Wasteland ?)
God of the sky, thunder and war. A warrior with impressive muscles (paraphrased), carries a sledgehammer or a bow and arrow.
Dazhbog (Day?)
Giver god that namely provides wealth and the sun. Often depicted with a sun halo around his head and sun ORB in his hand (sounds familiar?).
Apparently, he is born and grows as the day does, just to die and be reborn on the next day.
Stribog (Dawn?)
god of the wind, air and sky. Appears as an old man. Antisocial wanders around constantly, but comes running when called.
Simargl/Semargl (Valley?)
god of fire and fertility. Is a shapeshifter and looks like a young warrior with flames surrounding him.
Mokosh (Forest?)
goddess of fate and protector of mothers.
Hors (Vault?)
Though mysterious, is a god of the solar disc. Associated with healing and sickness.
Veles (Eden?)
A King of the Underworld, can be found in wet lowlands. Has in interest in wealth, music and treachery. Known to be a thief, Perun saw him as an enemy. The people believed in wars between the gods was what caused the seasons to change.
Finally, there is Rod. A god that possibly no longer existed. a god that is the creator of all things, including the other gods. When Rod was done with his work, he disappeared.
This was a loose but fun comparison of the elder to the gods found in this article I was sourcing from: [link removed due to it triggering the bot]
In the event this offends anyone, be they are followers or not, I will delete the message.
Yup! the darn link was the culprit! Ok, that was a bummer
In this case, Rod would presumably be the megabird…but if that’s true, and we’re following the mythology, it would no longer be around. Very interesting.
Let that be a lesson, folks

I like all this, but I personally feel like Hors and Mokosh should be switched. Vault Elder is a lot more mysterious than Forest mama, and the Forest Elder having a big hammer would help her with her task of being “the protector of mothers”. Just my interpretation, though.
fair enough. I did leave out parts of the article while writing that.
Hors was known to appear as an old woman, while Mokosh was born from the wind, and a swinging hammer
I'll swap them regardless, though.
And a swinging hammer. Okay, now it makes more sense. But again, this is all pretty cool. Ideas of the different mythologies that went into Sky and how everything might represented are great.
Can you show King?
I didn't saw him
In mythology Simargl is a half-God
And in Valley we can saw siblings who play with fire
Two half
I found smth else
Dodola(Forest??) Dodola (Dodola, Perunitsa, Goddess of Lightning) is the Slavic Goddess of Thunderstorms and Heavenly Moisture. The goddess Diva-Dodola became the wife of Perun. In Slavic myths, she is mentioned as a faithful companion of the God of Thunderstorms. During a thunderstorm, Perun sends lightning, and Diva-Dodola sends heavenly moisture necessary for the fertility of the earth. In addition, the Diva-Dodola is revered as one of the Goddesses of Summer, which begins with the first thunderstorms, and youth. Especially often the Goddess becomes the patroness of young girls.
Slavs turned to Diva-Dodola with requests for rain. According to tradition, only her priestesses, young girls, could turn to the Slavic Goddess of Thunderstorms. They danced in white robes, offered the Goddess trebs, and the Goddess Diva-Dodola always answered their request. Often the Diva-Dodola herself is presented as a beauty who always walks in the company of her priestess friends.
Svarog is probably a blacksmith god, most likely a spirit of fire. Some researchers identify Svarog with Svarozhich
Svarozhich is the personified fire
About wasteland
Svyatovit is the main god of Arkon(Arkona?(translator not very correct)) , associated with war and victory
IMPORTANTLY
I have several applications entirely in Russian with Slavic runes, staves(rates?) and their meanings.
I can found more information if I'll see somthing similar to this
And I think it also look similar
Signs on the walls, bells and towers
This towers like a Chur stave(rate) was protected Wasteland
About Dazhbog stave(rate)
Dazhbog (Summer and Winter) - the God
of fertility, personified the power and brightness
of the luminary, its thermal characteristics,
life-giving heat and even the rules
of the universe. Dazhdbog (the giving
god) was expected to fulfill desires,
health and other benefits. Dazhbog, give,
rain - words of the same root,
meaning to share, to distribute.' Dazhbog
sent people not only rain, but also
the sun, saturating the earth with light
and warmth. Every Russian man
is obliged to create a large family - a kind,
feed, raise, raise children
and become a Dazhbog. This is his duty,
Slav, the truth. There are
countless ancestors behind each of us - our roots,
and everyone should give life to the branches
- descendants. Having such a symbol
is easy to see in a crowd, it emits light,
you can say it glows from the inside.
It is easy and joyful to be with such a person
, pure warmth emanates from him
, like from the sun. Summer Dazhbog - red color - for those born from
April to September. Winter Dazhbog-
blue - for those born from November to
March
I just noticed the bells kinda of look like the king statues,
Yaaas
I think yall already knew this
But
It's look like King head
Imagine he had grown that dang big. That that little city is all that remains of his head and the King used to the size of a mountain.
Woah that look nice
Stave(rate)
Belobog is one of the supreme good
gods of the ancient Slavic peoples.
Embodiments of light, the god of goodness, luck,
happiness, personifying the daytime
and spring sky. It is a sign of goodness and
well-being, keeps from quarrels and creates harmony.
Belobog can do everything and construction
At home, and a feat of arms, and a clear
building of his career.
It is mainly used
by men who want to leave
behind good deeds and full-fledged
offspring. Belobog will accompany
such a husband all the way, eliminating
obstacles and granting random luck.
But this does not mean that Belobog will give
good luck to a gambler or a thief. This symbol
- not for them! It is for bright and pure
-hearted White people. Insight through
spirituality, Victory - through growing up and
acquiring Wisdom.
In second pic I erased top part
There is probably a sky alphabet right?
May be..
Here are the runes
arrr my eyes
(half as bad as prairie tho)
But this runes doesn't exist irl
lol I dunno I’m just here to make goofy theories
There are extremely big and clever theories.... Braiblowing!!
/s/hj
Dang he had a city on his head
so far water hose and doors, I’ll get there tho, eventually gain big brains
I don’t think so..
This sign just EVERYWHERE
I've seen the theory that it's a prince sign. Crown
King propaganda
More like
City propaganda
Oh, king propaganda ? Allow me,
The king is pretty cool huh? He got statues on wasteland that works as turrets, pretty cool right?
Exactly
the king got an army of crebs
Hmm
I saw one theory that he was to blame for the big BLOW. I'll send this tomorrow
I'm in UTS+3 lol it's 2am
More like the city was his head.
Still cool
Is this the city?
No
It's Palace after the BLOW
The Eden it's like Square in front of the palace
The palace was on top of a mountain, and blow up
Wait so who lived in the palace if it was the King’s head?
Then it's not his head
King’s brain cells
True
I found Theory
I need to adapt this
King brain cells = the resource crystal thing
Oh no wonder the king got so messed up then 💀💀 /j
The Prince and anyone else close to him, I suppose. The people he trusted most.
But- they’re literally living in his head
I mean, it’s hardly the weirdest thing that’s happened in the Sky universe.
And what is the weirdest?
yup, you’re talking flying mantas and water proof fire
Hmmm.
g r a v i t y
The Winged that we collect. I would say that out of everything, the presence of those things are pretty weird and mysterious.
waterproof fire? we don't have that anymore? valley ice rink got drained
I mean like when you hold out the candle in the rain and it- it still there
Your answers are valid but imo the King head thing is pretty high up on the list, both literally and metaphorically
Prince is a King
Assumption only
It’s not confirmed, just implied
The Prince raises even more questions than the King at times, they may be the same person or may not be, we just don’t know.
theory
before the kingdom of skye became an advanced society (they were even then, but they did not have technology), they had a prince
and he became a prince because he was the chosen
one, he could own all the elements, knew everything and was obsessed with technology
at such a pace, Aleph (prince) became Rash (king)
the kingdom began to immerse itself in the technology and production of dark stones (in the forest) and in this way the kingdom of skye became a very advanced kingdom
, but in order to charge these dark stones, light creatures were required
that is, butterflies, manta rays and so on
, but the fact is that since they are beings of light, they must have a way of rebirth, which the king did not allow them because he thought that if they did not reborn, they would be eternal batteries
and this led to the whales (like the one on the island of shelter) becoming Krill
many people didn't like it that so much technology and that the king was clearly going crazy that it led to the fall of the king - the destruction of the kingdom and the destroyed castle this was Eden
, there was a war
, everyone died
, the king was left alone and that white dude whom you hug after Eden, this is the prince
, that is, his real nature
a child of light
a child who believed in progress
a child who believed in light
and he gives you a new life
since he killed everyone before and he knows about it
To me, the Prince is just a slightly younger version of the King. I’d assume that their rise to power was short and swift
Until megabird swoop in an KO the king
(wait the king is a bad guy right?)
We don’t know if he was the villain or not
Bad guy? Sorta? I don’t think the King can be seen in terms of completely black or white. Again, we just don’t know enough.
Grey char
I'm at sanctuary checking out the friendly crabs, and they're black... I thought the silver crabs were the uncorrupted ones because krills (and king krill) were also black. Could corruption turn the crabs silver?
Yes the King has their reasons
-One of the possible reasons was that the eden diamond was supposed to serve as an easier path to ascension
Perhaps. We don’t even know their original color.
he was (probably) just a child when he became the King so he might’ve not been mature enough
The ones in the secret vault area don't count because that's an easter egg, but the two sanctuary crabs are an outlier
The king stole creatures of light. And from the production of dark stones, a lot of waste accumulated in the wasteland. No one lived there. This place was a dumpster. And I think that everyone turned against the king. Some of the Wasteland warriors suppressed the rebellion together with Elder and defended the vault. We see that the wasteland has been destroyed most of all. The main blow fell there. And the vault is well fortified.
yeah that was definitely a problem
And..
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS
WHY IS IT IN THE SURFACE
WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THIS PICTURE
Idk
I just found pic in some Russian chat
That's an oob right? I can't find any info on how to get there
Dang. It’s cool to see it in the light like that.
IS THAT IN LIVE
YES
The last task of the current season
Yeah guys, we've talked about that oob here before
WAIT HUHHHSGHDGHSHGHDGH
What, does it follow you all the way to the surface?
We had to have, because this is the only server where I do sky stuff, and I saw that pic in a server. So it has to be this one, and I only come to lore chat
Hmm. Lemme do a few quick searches.
!
Not my pic
I searched earlier because I wanted to take some friends there. Couldn't find a thing
Where to? What means oob
Oh.
The leviathan oob
This season gives a subnautica vibe tbh, the king krill gives leviathan vibes
what would the 5th quest be like if the levi got to the surface
would we see cannoneer harpoon it up
Although I mean searches here in the discord.
Ah, never mind then
You have to fly and dodge it’s attacks
Hmmm?
I'm surprised cannoneer didn't harpoon the thing tbh. Like, I expected a boss fight and we got the quest we actually got (I love the quest tho, it's great)
leviathan starts shooting 20 lasers lol
Couldn’t find anything.
because of ratings? /hj
maybe limitations
We call Ruby so many different things, finding it would be a chore
(tbh I prefer the quest we got. Like, it was pretty epic, and I don't fancy the idea of our sky kids getting into actual battles. The occasional bonk with a fire works staff is funny tho)
2:38 am
I gonna sleep
Bye bye guys
Good luck in finding the deepest meaning!! /hj
Imagine if Sky was that sort of game though. I presume that in that world the Elders would be corrupted, and each one would be a boss fight before we free them.
There was actually concepts of that exact thing, boss-fighting the elders
RIP the Skids when they get to the Wasteland Elder. He wouldn’t even have to stab us with his spear, just flatten us with the tip.
HELP ???
Judging from the very faint silhouette of the tower in the distance, this might be OOB
We get bonked
How the turn tables….
It's definitely an oob. I did not dream up talking about it, it has happened before! I am confident! And y'all know I'm hesitant to say anything with confidence in this chat
Forest elder swings the hammer but it bounces off the sky kid
TIL Skids are made of rubber.
@tranquil harbor @still portal a guide to surface leviathan oob
Who would win: The elders, with their clear amount of power, or our sky kids, who are clearly indestructible and at worst have whacky slapstick done to them
Thank you!
isle - staff that summon waves
prairie - pots the comes alive like minions
forest - h a m m e r
valley - duo boss
wasteland - spear stabby stab
vault - spell books
How many times must we teach u this lesson old man
Neither. Somehow, Oreo would up at the last moment and claim victory.
this bot is sentient.-.
I was thinking of them having the boss music from the Spider man: Friend or Foe game. There’s seven bosses in that game as well, so it fits.
true true
Question. The area Levi is in after the fifth quest…I know you’ll run out of air before reaching any, but does it have a bottom at all?
your wind bounded I believe
Typical. Well, I suppose it was to be expected.
Yeah, it has a bounds so you can't actually reach Levi (we like to joke that Ruby learned their lesson, but tbh they'd probs eat us again)
classic TGC move
why-
I actually meant the very bottom of that area, not Levi, but I’m sure the outcome is the same.
Get ooooouuuuuuuuttttt
Actually no, I'm pretty sure the fish will give you oxygen until you reach the wall. Either way I don't think there IS a bottom. It's even deeper still. It's an abyss
I guess that’s the ocean for you.
I finally finished the last Abyss quest, and it’s so good
The Moment where Jorm swallows you is so intense. My Abyss ranking is: Story 6/10, Gameplay 8/10, Location 8/10, for a total score of 7/10!
Still as good even though you probably got spoiled?
im too lazy to do that one
no point having a companion
Not that much! There were still a lot of surprises
I KNOWWWW
Piggybacking off this real quick. I have had a maybe idea that parts of some of the realms look a lot different because of either lack of or abuse of the prophecy lights. An example of this would be maybe wasteland being filled with water at some point, but the orange light evaporated it all, or forest’s rain being from the blue light (I think that was conf canon by a proph mural). When I first had this I didn’t think of the light fading, so prairie’s floating islands would still be caused by the green light. I’m not sure what cyan light would do in valley but some of the places (citadel) float as well as the rubble so maybe that? As well as helping with flying race maybe
I am still thinking it over but I have considered lack of light as a possibility, I just keep defaulting to the light’s effects being the case instead because whenever I could think of an way lack of the lights would affect a realm, the lights I would think of wouldn’t match (for example isle becoming a desert because green light was Removed)
I'm making a Lore story any Suggestions on Plot Twist?
plot twist of everything exploding
Somehow, sneezing scholar plays a much major role than what they seem.
the sky kid takes off its virtual reality headset and goes back to their daily life (edit, like after ascension stuff 😞)
you turn into Resh at the end
Resh?
the King of Sky yeah
Resh turns off his computer at TGC office and goes home for dinner
Again one question: After I finish The Lore where should I send it tho? I want Sky players to see it as fast as it can
Unfortunately, this server doesn't have a channel for written works... you CAN post it in #completed-sky-fanart-and-creations but it doesn't really get seen there
also
Resh computer
Also
may I DM you?
I forgot to ping @round shore darn it
Oh lol 😂 my bad
Nooooo but I wonder if I could-?
could what?
Could somehow send it in this server.... maybe in this channel? Nah it's doesn't get much attention-
Hmmm, not sure
may I dm you?
Sure ig
Post it on Archive of our own. They have a section for fics based off the game.
Oh, just google it. It's a fanfic site and you can post it there. Here: https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Sky: Children of the Light (Video Game)/works
OH MY GOODNESS THE MOST RECENTLY UPDATED ONE IS ||THE DANGANRONPA AU ONE||
Perfect, lol.
Lore peeps I just finished Ep1 of the lore aka Isle of dawn
Nice!
Every time I turn away from the lore chat something happens, why is my timing this bad
timezone
Dw I think that happens to a lot of us…
Alright i got a theory about those memory which the spirit give us the emote, i think that those memory are their last strong moment or just the best/favorite moment of their life
Since the fainting spirit is just ded, not fainting and where they lay down, there are dark mushroom grows from it
But some spirit with a normal story, they are just enjoying their moment
Yes
what do you think the elders would be like in a modern day au?
Some things just translate over directly:
Prairie Elder would likely be a farmer
Forest Elder might be a Blacksmith
Valley Elders would probs be athletes
Wasteland Elder could possibly have a job in the military, or be a retired veteran
Vault Elder may work as a librarian (or even a teacher maybe? There are more jobs than those, but I can't think of them off the top of my head)
I dunno about Isle, but he seems super old even by elder standards. Let grandpa live the cozy retired life.
I don't think their personalities would change too much, but given they're not community leaders and there probably wasn't a world ending disaster, they might not be as sad as they can come off as.
vault elder trying to be patient while teaching chibis/young kids
Me, immediately: Forget realistic modern AU, it is time for school AU
Forest Elder is a shop/art teacher, you can't change my mind.
Valley are gym teachers (or maybe health teachers?)
The others are probs heavily dependent on if the skids are like, baby school, or if they're older kids (possibly even high school) because when I was young, you didn't have many class options until like high school
Would Isle elder be the principle, or would that be the king?
isle gives me principal vibes! but that being said no idea where the king would fit in if that's so 🤔
the prince is the one who's in detention
maybe isle can be the vice principal
also 37 second slowmode? what did lore chat get into for this
if we're talking older kids, i'm not sure if vault elder would be librarian or counsellor or literature
Lorechat is more active, so the slowmode allows us to be able to read previous messages and keep theories from instantly dying because no one paid attention to them
ohhh i see, glad to hear that
so lore fam.......any ideas to add on My lore series ep 3 Hidden forest???????? any lore???
Dark plants trap light and light creatures
Mantas were used in the creation of dark diamonds (you decide the gore level for this one)
Forest Elder is impatient
Team Flight is anti-diamond
The Wind Paths may have contributed to the spread of corruption
Someone from Assembly stole two small structures (one socket and one full lock) containing dark diamonds and dismantled them
Hmmm that's good but- Maybe any ideas that is for moff like adventure ideas?
Oh, adventure ideas!
Well, there were concepts of Hidden Forest being foggy and you getting lost in it and then Forest Elder is trying to... deceive you
There's also the option for a veteran with an umbrella to save moff from dying but that trope might be too common so maybe you want to switch it up
What do you think of skykids finding solace in spirits?
Your ideas are Great! Gotta add it to notes-
I think sky kids finding solace in spirits is astonishing
will it be incorporated in your story?
yeah maybe in Season 3-
season 3?
yeah
how are you dividing this story
Oh seasons?
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i guess after the MC discovers all realms?-
no I mean what's in season 1, 2, then 3?
well im only at season 1 tbh but i added that idea to my notes
i see i see
There WERE concepts? Of getting lost in Hidden Forest? Sounds a lot like getting lost in the Lost Woods in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I think TGC didn't want to copy that idea because Nintendo already made something like this. In Breath of The Wild, if you had a lit torch, you could see from the flame which way the wind was blowing it in, and the puzzle was you following the way the flame was being blown. This was how you got to Korok Forest, and if you didn't follow the way the flame was being blown, I'm pretty sure Link was placed back at the nearest torch post or back at the beginning.
hmmm maybe thats why they scrapped it lol
or maybe to lower maturity level idk
I think they scrapped it because they didn't want to copy Nintendo, although I don't know how it would affect maturity levels? That part doesn't make sense. If it was implemented, then I'm pretty sure it'd work similar to how BOTW would when you get "lost".
mmmm i see lol
If you got lost in BOTW, the music got louder and the screen would fade to white, and you could hear a Korok either laughing or taunting, and Link then having a shocked sound in his voice, before he is placed by a torch post or back at the beginning where he looks around in confusion.
does sky have a alphabet?
it does but
we're nowhere close to decoding it
like, at all
it must be done
In the original concept the Forest Elder was described as 'seducing you'
Which, I don't think they meant it like that, per say, but it certainly gives a sketchy vibe
That may have been meant to say tricking skykids into getting lost in the labyrinth, as in enticing them.
I am sure the devs did not meant for being seductive to be anything questionable to skykids, hence the early concept art and possible translation or experimenting with word choices.
Yeah, I considered editing it to 'Seducing you (farther into the forest)' and just decided not to in the end
correct.
But they had all kinds of creepy ideas. Like silhouettes that looked like other players, or even fake players that ran around ahead of you and disappeared around bends and stuff. (Which, is awesome)
I wonder if you would have just got super lost in the forest, or if the fog acted like the rain and fire trial, where you were actively hurt.
Also the spider with human arms
I like how forest ended up now though. The rain is dangerous but the forest otherwise has a 'safe' feeling to it. Like people would bother to live there.
The labyrinth idea still sounds cool, though it may be understandably be the wrong vibe if the forest is meant to give more of an adventurous and gloomy mood instead of one where you get lost in the third realm of the game.
A lost mood in wasteland or eden may be more fitting, though that probably was what the devs were discussing in the moment.
It is easy to give the forest a creepy vibe, what is not easy is to do so with a child involved and not tip the scales (as in be too scary, or weird).
I end up liking when the kids are in 'safe' environments a lot. Like, I'm so used to fantasy settings where they throw the babies at monsters (and the babies win because they have awesome weapons and armor but still), but sky is a game that went 'Nah, these are babies and they do baby things' so places like daylight prairie or forest give this feel of 'Yep, this is exactly where you're supposed to be'. It can be satisfying. Like seeing a squirrel in a tree
GUYS

Lol
apologies if this has already been said/I'm repeating others words, but I find it very interesting how red is used commonly in the dark creatures designs.
while red also serves commonly as a "danger color", it is especially interesting considering how many deep sea predators camouflage in red. for example, the stomiidae (viperfish, dragonfish, loosejaws) all have red freckles across their bodies since due to how small the absorption of red light is on the ocean, many deep sea creatures use red a camouflage. thanks to how red is nearly invisible unless there's light, they become practically unseen. I really like this
all I'm saying is, this and this are oddly similar.
no need to apologise.
Interesting thing to point out, despite the size of the creature, the illumination is mostly on the head. Meaning if it is smart with its approach, the leviathan can use its own body to surround its prey and then show off its teeth.
yea!!
I hope we see more dark creatures in the future who incorporate these types of things. a dark creature who can "ink" similar to a cephalopod, pretend to be a source of light to trick similar to a anglerfish, or a giant monster like an oarfish. I need more marine biology creatures🙏
another fun fact that might add to this!
because red light doesn't travel very far down into the ocean most fish actually don't develop eyesight for red light (aka red colorblindness) so on top of mr leviathan here being almost PITCH BLACK no one can see his eyes
essentially it's not just "oh it's hard to see red light" DEEP SEA FISH CAN'T SEE IT AT ALL
FEAR
FEAR
digging in the past of the lore and found this.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Shall I revive this old concept by Feru, Megabird Acolute ?
krills on the other hand can be spotted easily, deep sea fish can see green and blue light very easily
krills have a aqua colored eye
it probably isn't the case sadly (fish don't have legs like krill)
Yeah but when it turns red
well basically
if you stop seeing the krill, you're screwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
omg imagine how scary that would be. you see a blue light in the distance and follow it, hoping to find another skid or a candle to recharge on. as you near it, it shines on you a disappears. you don't know why. suddenly, something rams you so hard it knocks your life force out of your body
we... are... in...
FEAR
the blue turning to red is probably to tell the skid "HEY DANGER" rather than a red light being invisible to deep sea fish as mr leviathan is deep deep down in treasure reef but krill are found all over
given the fact that we can't see mr leviathan until he pops his head up and it's pitch black i'd say he lives well over 1000 meters under the ocean (at which point it becomes dark in the ocean in real life)
this does make me wonder how canoneer ended up down there
WAIT DIDNT SOMEONE DETERMINE HOW FAR THE FLAGS ARE FROM EACH OTHER
HOW MANY FLAGS ARE THERE
also 1000 meters is 3,281 feet (a skid is 3 foot for reference
)
that would make sense! maybe the reason we can see the krill more easy is because they are higher above 🤔 like we can obliviously see them in waste and so n so but once they reach leviathan levels of deep sea they completely disappear. the light can't reach their colors
krill are much darker and smaller than leviathan so i want to say they're probably ambush predators like the anglerfish rather than leviathan who hunts for food
the blue light lures you in (deep sea fish can see blue and green very easily) then it vanishes, then boom, monche for mr krill
agree
"ooh shiny"
"eh?"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
they're GOOOOOONE nowhere to be seen again
can i ask something for a slightly more light hearted thing?
(i like to use wave as if i'm raising my hand
)
sure dear darren
its great to have you here

what do you think skids are made of?
we know they're inorganic that's for sure but with the different "skin" colors it leads me to wonder
moths (and those wearing default/non seasonal pants) are probably made of clay given their brown color
a summary, by Alasdair
My Working Theory on the Composition of a Skykid
–clothing, hair, masks & other cosmetics made of light.
–a humanoid physical shell made of some magic-induced earthen material (i.e. clay, stone, ash, charcoal, meteorite) that has a hole in the chest and eyes.
–this hollow shell is full of light, such as winged light and neutral light.
–their cape, a manifestation of winged light.
–their flame, manifesting as the light in the hole in their chest and held outside their bodies via a red candle.
–their soul, appearing as a blue sparkle.
i agree with clay, I think all the sky kids come from different types of things used for pottery. which is why they shatter. perhaps that's how their born? created from an ancient pottery wheel where a spark is stored in the vessel?
i understand that part, i'm just curious cause there are people with pure black skin, some with grey and most commonly, brown
most of us think that Megabird created us, and the shell was created when we fell to earth
that's a fine theory as well. I think my main difference is that I've always stuck to a less "living organism" vibe for the sky children. I view them a lot less like creatures and more like vessels of stars.
i get that
that's relatable for quite a part of lorechat
and then weird things happened when we got that meter that appears when we are fully submersed in some body of liquid
I have so many different species of sky kids 😅 that's why I lean towards different mediums of sculpting for their birth
when you just wanted to ask what did lore chat think the different skin colors were made of if brown is clay but they talk about megabird n skids being like meteors:
I have this headcanon that when a skykid's shell cracks, their inner light will draw out nutrients from the nearby ground to heal it
ooh that's super cool!!!
i have a hc that skids need to be reborn to get new shells, that's why we have to go to eden (not just for candles)
i have a doodle to accompany this
I agree. maybe through the rain of forest, black goop of wasteland, and harsh winds of valley, their shells have grown worn and thin. Eden is a form of rebirth where their light is taken from their shell and reborn into a new vessel
mostly krill attacks, when you become a veteran (or learn to play better) you can avoid bonking, harsh landing etc!
hence why i don't go to eden as much
augh that's a HUGE reason! there's no way their shells aren't being smashed to pieces by krill
you get bonked ONCE as a moth and are like "oh no" you'll walk it off but you may need some patching up to carry on doing races n valley
monthly?
What happens if you go every week?
Would the 'new shell' be very new or just very worn down if you rush things?

Wow, they look significantly less colorful!
what's the deal with the triangle motif i see on the witch hat, some of the little prince capes, and just in general across the world? i know they relate to the king, but is there anything else to them?
The King's motif is actually the diamond/4-pointed star, but triangles?
They may have symbolized ancestors in the concept art, though I'm not sure
Ah, that's the one!
Yeah, that's the only answer I really have for you hsfhsfhsfh
im just surprised to see them on the witch hat of all things haha
eh, probably just to make it fit a little bit more with Sky's aesthetic
yeah that's actually fair, and probably the real answer too
Triangle, wide at the bottom, narrow at the top.
I cannot recall where or which dev said it, but the triangle motif implies the ancestors cannot fly, but still try to reach for the sky.
the witch hat came from the days of mischief event. A halloween event that gives the game an opportunity to include items that dont have to fit with the overall sky aesthetic, per say.
While the witch hat is more in line with, well, witches. It is accepted as an item you can get in the game without needing to question if the denizens of Sky actually had Halloween, or witches.
Think of it as a quirky item that is more of a meta reference than something that has lore.
shell?
skykids have shells? 😟

So would the sky kids be reborn into another body after each Eden trip?
I think it's their same body, just with their Winged drained completely. After all, they still keep all their clothes, props, everything else they've collected.
Not to mention the clothes they had on their body when they went to Eden.
Hmmm then what about the ‘you’re about to be reborn’
I think that's just your soul/light being reborn and drained and stuff.
Not your actual physical form.
Whos king?
Like...his role or his identity?

Ahhhh hes very tall
Yes, very much so.
Shores of Mana = new headcanon pre disaster name for GW??? Ooohhh
Interesting that the fog seems to be a different shade. Much…lighter, it feels.
My banana plantation has been going quite well, thanks for asking. I work with old timey bananas sometimes, y’know, the ones that are more seed than food.
I found some friendly crabs in wasteland. Only two, they’re right next to the bon fire. I think what happened here is that they never went into the dark water. I also went to see what would happen if I dropped one into the dark water and nothing happened. But you can see the difference in those crabs and the other crabs, and how it wasnt a glitch. This means nice crabs werent a new thing for sanctuary(excluding office.)
Crab Whisperer does the chest pound emote, interesting.
Mine scared me half to death instead. And saluted me.
Scaring them away, perhaps. Some kind of intimidation tactic?
WE NEED TO DOCUMENT CRAB WHISPERERS EVERY MOVEMENT TO LEARN OF ITS HABITS AND TO FILL OUT OUR SPIRIT-DEX FOR PROFFESOR MEGA BIRB!!!!
Heres how it went down with me and crab whisperer. Perhaps we can learn something from this? Like discover new lore points or something?
Strange, they were in that stance. Sorry I’m bad with some spirit names.
They are stealthy because they know how dangerous the wastelands are. Even if that particular area does not have krill.
Question, would it be cool to see the krill on the other side of the wall while in this area?
It would! Give Skids a tiny glance at what’s ahead of them.
did yall notice that gw temple has statues that look like the king?
What could this mean? To me, maybe Tsadi was close friends with Resh, or Resh manipulated Tsadi
I felt like it’s the former and he was just paying tribute to him.
Or it could mean that gw was some sort of main city
I thought GW was more of the factory (?) area that produced the dark crystals that powered everything, so that’s probably true. It was said that the Valley was sorta the center of this whole civilization, the “downtown” so Wasteland being right next door and being the industrial sector would make sense.
I thought that population wise, Valley>Eden>Wasteland>Vault>Forest>Prairie>Dawn
I think Vault would be last. If I remember correctly, very few people were allowed in Vault. Sort of a “members only” kind of thing, not a public library.
Yeah, Forest should be above Vault. However, I’d imagine Prairie and Isle to be depopulated
Maybe? The switch trailer showed us a version of Isle before the Fall. All those tents and boats suggest that quite a few people lived there. It was much…greener.
The trailer did say it was a long time ago. Perhaps the landscape shifted a bit.
That and it is also interesting to see how the cloud coverage hides parts of the world. Partly to help make the world feel bigger than what a phone can run, and partly to show how the clouds are present in every realm (vault is an exception to this rule, however the Little Prince area justifies it).
WARNING: VERY JUMBLED RANT!!! (Pardon the incorrect terminology) Ok I noticed this after completing the trials (I know it's super late). This was probably discussed before but I'm just wondering if people noticed this as well. The krill are apart of the cave paintings and are lit up like the other animals we are familiar with. Will we ever learn more about these krill? It seems like they were once animals of light. Big mama krill was just introduced for season of abyss and it would make sense that they would be water animals since all of the other animals are water based (?). (Except for butterflies and birds but they are pretty small.) All of the animals tend to have larger versions of themselves it seems like. The manta and the big boy seen in vault, small and large jelly fish ect. (Maybe we get to see big crab if that's the case?)
giant enemy crab
First off, welcome to Lore chat, where past topic may be brought up again and again as new theorists join the chat.
Naturally, there were plenty of discussion during the season of Prophecy, while I cannot recall every detail, there were conversations that covered the murals and the krill in it.
In season of Enchantment, there is also a krill in the mural on the Forgotten ark, as well as crabs in the crab cave. It is interesting to point our they are in a golden colour, as all other things in the murals. However in Prophecy, there are details in the murals such as the elements that were shown with the elders.
You make a very valid argument with the majority of the light creatures being based on aquatic animals and they originating from the water. In season of Sanctuary, the story that was told revealed how the creatures would live in the water, and at some point be called out of it. The krill are no exception as in one encounter, we can see one rise from the waters.
While the butterflies and birds are not known to live in water. They are considered to be part of the light creature group.
Us skykid have never seen a larger variant of the butterflies. However, there were larger variants of birds. During season of Flight, there were fragments that took the form of medium sized birds. That and there was the elder bird that was last seen at the end of Season of Rhythm.
Hope this helps.
And let’s not forget the big dead bird in the Valley.
Imma be honest I never knew that was a bird 😂😂😂😂. But I kinda like just having small butterflies. They are my favorite animal just because of how you can summon them. I have butterfly stickers on my walls so there's that too lol
elder butterfly...
That honestly sounds like it has the potential to be more terrifying than any dark creature.
https://purplealmonds.tumblr.com/post/678908121438175232/an-assortment-of-environment-concepts-for-sky relevant concept art
i want big crab to be real
sorry didnt hear you, i only saw a bigger friend that could insta recharge us
So a common explanation that I should mention for the krill in the Prophecy murals is that it was part of the vision of the future. Krill were not around at the time the mural was created, but was present in a vision so it got recorded
I’m also imagining the giant butterfly landing on our back and just flying us away to other areas. That could be like, a new method of getting to a new seasonal space.
mantas already do that
butterfly sitting on ur shoulder cosmetic
inb4 manta charmer level 5 emote makes a butterfly land on your head
prairie season where we see butterfly charmer's relative, another disciple of the prairie elder
you can be the manta and land on people heads yourself if you’re not a coward
my cat does this
I now imagine wooly mantas as having cat like behavior patterns
when they are happy they bonk you with their face very hard and then roll away
Ok now I need a pet in sky. Sits on your shoulders or head and follows you around
adopt a moth, unlock piggyback, carry them around.
I still find odd how wasteland temple is so close to vault's and also find odd that they would build vault on wasteland of all places
consider that Wasteland wasn't always a wasteland
Well I'm guessing wasteland wasn't always a wasteland. It looks more like a city or temple area of some sorts. The vault was the city library
there's also Zhao's concept art that illustrates Vault being inside Eden mountain. it makes sense considering that after the Vault Elder's cutscene, you pop in what would be the final floor of the Vault, which opens to Eden
I was wondering something similar to this as well. I have to wonder if wasteland elder was considered less of a realm ruler and more like… the leader of the entire kingdom’s army or something? their temple is not separate from vault, and the vault almost looks like a giant version of an elder temple. In the isle temple mural where it’s depicted, the temple for vault is too tall to be interpreted as simply the top floor or even a subsection of vault in general, but is drawn as the entire realm
Yeah. I think Vault could even be considered as more of a sub-realm due to how small it is.
I can't wait to find out what Eden was like before and what happened to it. Just because of its name, it was probably a paradise or sanctuary
hello lore chat~
Hello Anzu!
also notice that vault has that Neat Star on top, there was probably at least part of the building poking above the mountain to have that decoration on the roof. In the picture here you can see vault’s bricks? (the fog makes it difficult to see) looming exposed behind the wasteland temple
Hello anzu
I think of that vault as more of a building with access to different dimensions if that makes sense. A "bigger on the inside but looks smaller on the outside" type of building
True. The inside of it does seem to be kind of a weird dimensional space. Just a black void that goes on forever on some levels, even if you’re stopped by it.
I am becoming more and more convinced that everything from the beginning of valley up to and including vault may have been one massive city. I’m not sure on wasteland though, it may have been a refinery area like forest in order to support the massive demands of the valley city, or it could have been a city whose architecture was destroyed much more than the other realms due to many natural and unnatural disasters
It was mainly destroyed because Wasteland is where many battles took place in whatever war happened, so the “unnatural” disaster part is pretty accurate.
I feel like the devs watch this channel and either laugh at some of the weird ideas or they're like "WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN"
I wonder if we’ve ever accidentally stumbled upon the complete truth, but then brushed it off as “nah, that couldn’t be right”.
That’s the thing though. I feel like the war couldn’t have been the only disaster it faced, because although there are ruins, there’s not much of them. I was thinking something similar to a massive flood or windstorm that would take tons of the rubble with it. I feel like war WOULD destroy architecture, but not so much that there’s mostly no trace of it, unless a super powerful weapon was involved
I think the super power weapon in this case would be the giant crystal in Eden.
Also would we ever be able to defeat Eden? The whole point is to keep going in there and rescue those who have sacrificed themselves before us, but it just seems to be a never ending loop. Like the children were doomed from the start
Like the whole point wouldn't even be saving everyone's lives, just allowing their spirits to be free and to pass on to the after life
I think Eden is just a symptom of the darkness by this point, not the cause. We would have to find the source of the dark and destroy it, otherwise kids will keep getting corrupted and the cycle will continue.
idk if we can "defeat Eden" or even stop the storm with one big frontal assault.
i believe the futility we face in Eden is one of skykids' own making. whatever skykids were originally supposed to do in Eden is up to debate, yet they aren't strong enough to make it to the center without dying. skykids could just buff themselves up with light and charge on past their fellow peers' corpses get to the center, but they have such a love for each other that they can't help but give up their own light to save their petrified friends, weakening themselves so they they will ultimately succumb to the darkness in the point of no return. this leaves more bodies for other skykids to save, weakening themselves in turn, dying, and sustaining the cycle.
So is a Skykid who doesn’t care for others and is the opposite of their peers what’s needed to get ahead? They need a dark skykid to defeat the darkness itself?
i do believe that the storm is weakening overtime, whether due it running out of energy or the skykids' presence healing the world. we see that as the clouds receede and more areas are unveiled.
I feel like it would be a big event for a bunch of people to team up and go into Eden. That would be really cool to see. I'm talking a group of 20+ would have to go in together or something
That’s…true. It is theorized that the reason seasonal areas become unlocked overtime is because of exactly that. Who knows how much is out there that’s hidden by the storm. But even if it retreats all the way, would Eden itself cease to be corrupted?
And after you defeat Eden your kid could finally grow up and repopulate the world
I like the idea of a receding storm, but there’s something horrifying thinking about the storm being this incessant, dominant force
i don't think it'd take one skykid going rouge but rather a squadron of skykids sustaining each other and charging deep into the storm toward that corrupted diamond in the center to do... something. idk what they'd could do. we don't even know the means of how the Eden storm is powered or how exactly that corrupted red diamond factors into it
Sky is centered around companionship. teamwork would be thematically fitting to save the world. again, you can see that in Zhao's concept art where Eden was supposed to be completed with a team who would all sacrifice themselves to one final skykid who would face the corrupt king/save the prince (i can't find that piece itself but yea). while the corrupt king final boss thing isn't in game, the idea of sacrificing your light for others still remains
I had a theory that the crystal is going haywire because there isn't enough power, and every time our kids perform a mass outbreak, the energy they release from that is absorbed by the crystal. Which is why the storm temporarily breaks while we fly to orbit: we've partially charged the crystal.
In that case there would be two solutions like some kind of telltale game. Destroy the crystal, and possibly ensure that civilization will never reach the same level of advancement it once did, or find a way to make sure it gets enough power so that it doesn’t go crazy, which would likely carry much more risk.
I think a greedy person is behind the storm or maybe a bad experiment
something something king Resh
though the king makes a great scapegoat
You can destroy the crystal without dooming you to never advance tech. The little crystals work fine, and our kids can act as power for them themselves. All they'd need to do is 'not try it on that massive scale again'. A bunch of smaller crystals might work better than one huge one.
Just because on iteration of a power plant catches fire doesn't mean we can't have power plants at all
Exactly. The big crystal was an experiment or something someone wanted for themselves. Maybe it worked great before but someone wanted the power for themselves
Would the pipes we see in wasteland and Eden be connected to the crystal in anyway?
maybe but also consider that the “king statues” in wasteland are shown in concept art as possibly firing powerful lasers to be used as weapons. whether this is still a thing ingame or whether it got shelved and now those are just statues is unclear, but there’s some evidence for it remaining the same - for example, on the wrecked ship in GW, one of them sits near the front, possibly to be used as a weapon. also one of the proph murals shows the wasteland elder putting orange light into them. it would explain why the cannoneer is called that
And Also consider the proph/ench lights as shown in the proph murals seem to have some control over the elements but we don’t know how much
They likely supplied whatever was powering it and brought it to the crystal.
Sky is obviously a very spiritual world. With ancestors and a strong connection to animals even before the big storm happened. Maybe some angry spirits were upset by the big crystal or something else and turned it against the people
I think a theory floating around is that the Megabird had something to do with the ancestors destruction and the Fall after seeing how they were destabilizing the environment of the light creatures.
There's another power source that isn't really considered in this either. The area with all the golden floating orbs in valley (I can never remember the name) you slowly charge up from it and you float up if you're flying. What's with that area
There’s a few areas like that, that simply slowly charge you if you’re in them. And I think the orbs are meant to be celestial spheres and planets outside the Sky kingdom. Like a model of the solar system.
I considered it an area of spiritual energy or almost like a shrine to the birds. The area was already a source of energy but they built the orbs to harness it better
There’s also the place in the Prairie right before the Sanctuary Isles, where you get the green light. That charges you up steadily as well. Perhaps a connection?
The citadel also uses darkstone. You can see darkstone discs below each of the orreries that rotate in tandem with them, implying they are what keeps them afloat
Interestingly enough this is one of several examples of darkstone in disc instead of Diamond form
I definitely think it's a connection. Those areas both kind of float above the clouds
Yeah, those areas have strong wind currents. I think wind might benefit our kids at a smaller level than light
Wind from clouds charge you up faster than most light so
Maybe the wind being filtered with the clouds then? Because obviously Eden and Trial wind ain't your buddy, but they're not actively harmful. Meanwhile Flight path-
That’s true. Same with the flight area! Strong wind currents. Definitely a connection with floating isles.
Maybe slowly charging us from ambient sunlight is how the world is Supposed to be, and it not doing that is a side effect of darkness corruption
Our kids are walking solar panels confirmed
Does…that mean the treehouse is immune to the darkness? Cause if you stand in the ray of sunshine at the center of it, you get charged. No wind, no fire, that’s all it takes.
I'm pretty sure our light doesn't come from the sun but we're more mini flames. That's why we lose it when we are in rain. Of course the sun is the greatest source of fire tho but it's not close enough in most cases
The sun is also fire
another idea is that because of the sheer amount of light creatures in the Wind Paths and Bird's Nest, there is enough of their light to passively charge you from a distance. you notice this when after completing the 4th Flight quest, with darkness around and less light creatures, you stop recharging, but after the 5th quest when the darkness is cleared, more light creatures are in the area and the recharge is faster than before.
I think there would be more sun imagery if our light came directly from the sun
Our kids do seem to have a connection with animals. Like, our kid doesn't grab hold of mantas to fly on them, they straight up levitate, and there are little particles to show you're connected. Something is going on there.
And the old world had an even stronger one, what with all the masks based on different creatures. It would make sense that their connection would pass on to us.
it is an enigma why skykids can't recharge from sunlight. i'm leaning on that because sunlight is neutral light whereas skids need magic light (winged light, their flames) to exist. however that doesn't explain that other sources of persumed neutral light (candlelight) does recharge them
maybe there’s more ambient sunlight in those places because of clouds to reflect it off of, and the sunlight is just too weak normally?
The animals seem to be transparent or MADE of light but we aren't . However, underneath our clothes there's only light coming out from there. Confusing
time to open the anatomy doc
Our kids can recharge from fire- GUYS! Fire thrives with stuff like oxygen. Maybe it's not a magic reason of why our light recharges, but a chemical one
Nah I definitely think it's magic but like an explained and studied magic
My Working Theory on the Composition of a Skykid
–clothing, hair, masks & other cosmetics made of light.
–a humanoid physical shell made of some magic-induced earthen material (i.e. clay, stone, ash, charcoal, meteorite) that has a hole in the chest and eyes.
–this hollow shell is full of light, such as winged light and neutral light.
–their cape, a manifestation of winged light.
–their flame, manifesting as the light in the hole in their chest and held outside their bodies via a red candle.
–their soul, appearing as a blue sparkle.
Yeah, that's called 'science'.
"Magic is science we don't understand yet, and science is magic explained"
And it’s shown our kids need oxygen, since they can run out of “breath” underwater. So I think you’re on to something there.
Kind of relating it to how marvel got away with having magic being "scientifically" explained
hhhhhh that opens a can of worms
haha just like fourth quest
Maybe the shell gets too soft if it stays under without light for too long? Which in turn releases the light from our body and weakens us?
Our clothes protect our internal light. The winged light we find is vulnerable and can be snatched by us lol. Also we turn into a winged light after Eden cut scenes
We need to combine magic with science. Possibilities include:
A) Our kid holding their breath can form a protective layer around their fire
B) The flame actively consumes the breath we're holding, and once it runs out, we need to start breathing again to feed our fire.
Winged light may be straight up magical protection from death
this is the most complete part of the anatomy doc only because the topic of skykids "breathing" has been debated time and time again.
don't take this as fact, this is just me musing over possibilities
my favorite theory I have seen with this is that being completely underwater does normally seep away our light and without diving skills would just extinguish us immediately. but the manta teaches us how to do our version of “hold our breath”, using mental control over the flame to keep a layer of oxygen between the water and us, which slowly dissipates due to exhaustion as we stay under for long
I like that one
I accept this. Stamp it as cannon and the devs can't say anything lol
i've heard that too but instead reasoned that skykids maneuver their winged light to protect their flame underwater when everywhere else their flame would be first to go before they lose winged light
I think all these theories have some definite credibility…but that leaves something out. Who was that Manta? Why is it just that one that teaches us how to dive? Is there something special about it? Presumably it’s the same one we free from the Leviathan, so…what’s the deal? Why couldn’t the mantas in, say, the Sanctuary Islands teach us?
(because they didn't think of that yet)
I am 100% on team 'it's a special manta'.
(That may actually be the case.
)
And they would have had to design underwater areas for the sanctuary and ain't nobody got time for that
I mean…there’s a trench there now.
the most boring trench ever
Again . . . Didn't think of these things when the sanctuary was create and now they're playing catch up with underwater areas so they had to add something
It’s gonna get more stuff in the future! Probably. Hopefully.
I trust them
Not bashing the devs in anyway. It's such a complex world and any new update to physics will cause major changes to the maps
I believe it is a spirit of some kind, like the manta version of ancestor spirits. Here’s my evidence copy pasted from a while ago
`` -Dissolves in the same manner that spirits do after we get their emote.
- Can turn into a “soul star” greatly resembling the star spirits turn into and fly towards their temple as.
- We know from spirit hair colors that the color white gets maintained, this explains why the manta is white and not dark blue star-pattern like ancestor spirits. The color gold can also technically be maintained [I believe some rhythm spirits have gold streaked hair] although there are mostly white mantas, so it isn’t too odd.
- Fades into existence in the quest cutscene after stopping in front of us. For a few frames it is semi transparent.
- We have to burn away the darkness plants from its outer shell? body? before filling it with light and seeing the spirit. This is a direct parallel to us burning away the darkness shell around spirits before seeing their emote
- Teaching us how to swim MAY be a parallel [in the way it was presented] to spirits reaching us their emote. Not sure about this, though.
Current personal theories on what the manta spirit in the leviathan is:
- A manta it consumed who we revived and freed, freeing every other light creature trapped in the leviathan’s stomach as well.
Shortcomings: If the manta was consumed, why isn’t it just… gone? Why is there any light left at all? And how did it manage to get out? [Maybe some weird leviathan version of gag reflex?] - One of the mantas that formed the corrupted conglomerate that became the leviathan. By freeing it from the darkness binding it to the others, we ripped a part of the leviathan away from itself and caused the reaction that made it open its mouth in shock.
Shortcomings: are the other mantas just not allowed to be freed as well? Why jsut one?
``
“Why just one?” There’s a possibility it never ate any other mantas, just fish. All the other mantas in the area were in those two tanks, remember.
(why do we have tables if we don't eat)
I saw multiple mantas in its vomit cutscene. At least 2 (one of which is the upgrade manta)
(For building puzzles on.)
Valid I can live with that
First of all, before anything else: I'm not getting into if sky kids can eat, because I get irrationally defensive and angry about it (but they do drink tea)
Second: They use them to chat. Tables are better than standing around the whole time, and I have a theory the tables are technology that make chatting easier.
Benches and bonfire are just as good as chatting. However, puzzles, sky kids love jig saw puzzles now in my mind
well I happen to have very telling proof, if it helps.
The game is afterall, open to interpretation
For or against them eating? Because I also have some proof but it's freakin' beta spoilers (still not getting into it)
Dang it, I was thinking of the same thing! I wanna say it so badly!
Knowing beta is a curse here
Wait nvm they can eat because of the dude roasting crabs in the wasteland lmao
Some people argue those crabs are only for the spirit.
How long have they even been roasting for, then?
Well what if sky kids and moths considered collecting wax as eating in their minds? They don’t quite understand the concept of eating actual food but collecting wax for candles is how they came to interpret eating over time
Might be different crabs every time we show up. Though some people have argued they have long since been 'overcooked' by literal centuries and the only reason we don't see burnt husks is because the crabs are rocks on the outside
Aren't we just the alive versions of spirits??? If they can eat then we can eat. The spirits recreate things from when they were living
No, sky kids are not alive versions of the spirits. We're called 'Descendants' but we are a different race entirely. The ancestors died out, there was no one to birth us.
I assume we were all made from the same light as the spirits and the spirits are still there to teach the children. We are meant to revive the culture of the spirits
Yeah, technically we probably know more about what we are than what they are. They’re human like, but they’re definitely not, so…that’s simply another mystery to add to the list.
That doesn't make use the same species who work biologically like the ancestors tho
https://thatgamecompany.com/tgc-turns-12/
Bottom Right.
Skykids having a piece of cake.
Yay.
Well it’s in the name of the game ‘children of the light’ it’s easy to assume moth’s are born from the light
aw they're piggybacking to light the candle!
Some people would say that's dubiously canon and only there to be 'cute' but frankly, I'm gonna marry you for it
Also it seemed to be rare for spirits to actually fly themselves but we were made to fly as a sort of evolution
Wait, so if they can eat, what even happens to food that they - actually, you know what, probably best to leave that one unanswered.
yes, and all the mantas (from what I can tell from the few frames we see them in) seem to be similar to the upgrade one we saw, implying they might be spirits as well?
the topics in this chat are changing way too fast for me to focus
How’d do you think they fly 😈
Now we know what the pipes are for

fire burns stuff, probably what happens to cake and candies
It's either video game 'yeah they go to the bathroom but who wants to do that in a video game' logic, or they're capable of completely digesting the food, which, if they have fire for a soul, they might digest it by incinerating it into nothing
could exxplain the embers that fly out when they flap their wings
Might be whatever ash remains of the food.
Lol, "Incinerate your food into ash to give your clay shell a healthy, glossy glow"
Canon, valid, accepted, moving on now😂
don’t we burn the food before we eat it and absorb it as wax?
I like to think that in canon we can eat and incinerate it later because I think skykids deserve to be able to taste yummy food, but the pre incineration is a gameplay convenience thing
And they change colors depending on what they eat. Which is why we sometimes see sky kids with different shades of skin.
That actually is rather sound (but I think the pants are what decides it, gameplay wise)
(Me hopping on the chat to expect something about Eden but seeing this)
Not all of lore is about Eden!
Ye but most of it is
Hmmmmmmm debatable
I don't know about taste but I wouldn't mind if skykids can smell
The way skykids appreciate food is to burn it and enjoy its scent
Bet they’d love incense
Oh right I just realized that
If they go into the human world they'd be obsessed with it
"honey why is the moth poking their eyes with our incense sticks"
Is it just me or do u imagine ur sky kid like getting really hungry throughout the day so u go to grams not just for wax but thinking ur sky kid issaying “mmmm this is soooo gooood” like idk if it’s just me lol
Grans wax balls smell of freshly baked bread
The scent lingers even after burning
It would be very difficult for them to fly for a long time, though. Clouds are super high up in the air, with very few exceptions, and obviously large amounts of fire are much more…problematic in our world than theirs. So unless they can chug gasoline to gain wing charge (geez, that’s an image) I don’t imagine them flying around a lot. They’d be running around, honking like maniacs at all the new sights and foods to taste.
Skykid: *eats all the scented candles in the bathroom
Lol
I imagine you would find a bunch in churches, since every church I’ve been in has had those huge candle racks.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ITS THE ANTICHRIST ITS EATING ALL OUR CANDLES
I’m wheezing
I wonder if the candles the kids use and at the elder alters have scents to them.
a different smell for each realm
I imagine people would be doing the exact opposite: praying to them, and mistaking them for angels since they’re glowing beings that can fly. Poor Moth will be so confused at these large, hairy, incomprehensible creatures immediately bowing down.
I bet they smell like French vanilla ( they are white)
But would the smells have religious significance to them, or would they be like, 'this smell is the elder's favorite'
I don't like Valley offering candles. They smell like sweat.
nah they smell like axe body spray
I wonder what the red ones smell like (peppermint?)
roses, prollly
The Valley Elders hit some hard times and have to make body Spray commercials to get by.
Fish at the supermarket.
I wonder if that was a thing. The elders (of any realm) indorsing certain products. Or if like, that was frowned upon. Did they share their favorite bakeries with the spirits?
I’m sure Prairie Elder told people to get out there and buy butterfly vases.
What are the elders names any how
How detached were the elders from the ancestors. I think we know they were their leaders, but were they considered above the ancestors, like holy beings they rarely saw unless they were 'special' (flight guide) or did the elders consider themselves apart of the kingdom and stuff?
There are no canon elder names. There are concept names, and there are names based on the time of day of their realm
Like what
I never remember the concept names, but the time names were (in order)
Dawn
Day
Forest/Rain
Sunset
Dusk
Night
I guess it depended on the Elder. For instant, I would see Forest Mama viewing herself as being above most everyone (although my interpretation could be wrong), while the Isle Elder would likely try to get on their level and be more understanding.
The Elders (and king/prince) have names based off Hebrew letters from concept development that are no longer canon, though the fandom sometimes refers to them as such:
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (they share a name, though the fandom refers to
as Sah and
as Mekh)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
Prince – Alef (א)
King – Resh (ר)
Though it seems the devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent:
Isle – Dawn
Prairie – Day or Daylight
Forest – Rain
Valley – Sunset
Wasteland – Dusk
Vault – Night
Oooooo thankuuu
if elders could eat food what do you think their favorite food would be??
I skip those cut scenes so much I don't even remember what the elders look like 😂😭
Valley Elder(s) like salt & pepper on their apple slices
I know Ash said the valley elders would like salt and pepper apple slices, but I don't wanna be that person who goes 'this is clearly their favorite to the point of obsession'. Maybe healthy food for them?
Wasteland elder would prob like spicy food
Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Lots of Häagen-Dazs.
Any foods that would be seen as tough to eat, so…yeah.
If Vault Elder dislikes tea I think I'd cry.
I'm partial to saying Forest Mama might like mushrooms because those tend to grow in forests
mushroom soump
Vault elder totally love to sip tea while reading a good book
If you play the vault elder cutscene, you can see the elders interacting with the ancestors to teach them things. For example forest elder is showing some how to make diamonds and wasteland elder is leading some into battle. Plus, flight guide was canonically prairie elder’s apprentice, so at the very least they take apprentices on to teach them things, and they could probably manifest in the real world instead of being trapped to their elder cutscene areas forever because that’s the simplest explanation for their behavior in the vault elder cutscene.
I’m not sure how far it would extend though
I’m guessing Prairie Elder would be partial to anything baked, and would visit Grandma often for bread and whatnot.
Prairie Elder definitely loves a nicely grown veggie!
Hm. I wonder if there was ever, like, a weekly/monthly meeting between them all. Would they meet in Eden with Resh? Or was there somewhere else that would be a better choice?
What about the dawn elder though
biscuits
People theorize the vault is where they'd meet, because of a giant table on its second floor, and the vault elder's alter has a bunch of themed thrones
That’s a fair point. I imagine Wasteland Elder would take up an entire side of the table, and everyone else would be struggling to make room for themselves.
I imagine that Vault Elder has the ability to summon the other Elders into their liminal space given they show up in their cutscene plus has all their altars.
there's also another ring of the Elders' altars while ascending to Orbit (let me find a pic) so perhaps they met there, whatever that used to be
It's probable they had somewhere to meet in every realm tbh
they could've met anywhere, I'm thinking of formal, private meeting places.
Yeah, and they probably had a place like that in every realm, depending on what they needed
where's the thing i wrote about Vault Elder
Woohoo, Alasdair is pulling the receipts
That’s true. In a fic I’m writing, their meeting place in Forest is literally a pyramid smack in the middle of nowhere, miles deep in the forest in a place no one would dare come wandering. It would likely be like that, so they don’t get any unwanted visitors.
i think a few of yall already read this but here's some hurt/comfort
Mate, seriously
figuring out the Elders' meeting places is important, mind you
A lot of people don’t know this but the wasteland elder secretly likes to use the orange light to cook/bake, and whenever there’s an elder meeting, they get super excited and make everyone’s favorite food for them
I love elder angst
Give me literally anything where the big tough looking character who can absolutely break you in half with a glance is kind and good at cute things like baking or knitting and I am sold
wasteland elder can LITERALLY feed an army
I am done with the idea that cooking isn't for people who do physically demanding jobs. It is a life skill, and Wasteland Elder could be a chef if he wanted to. I will fight my own war for him
Wasteland Elder does charity bake drives
That school AU from earlier where Wasteland Elder was in the army and the kids are like 'Wasteland Teacher is so cool/scary' and yet he's in charge of all the school charity things
plus some recipes Require physical strength. Like kneading bread, preparing fruit to bake into things like cobblers and pies, and so on. Imagining them punching the lights out of some dough to make good bread
i mean, they seem to have led an army, so they'd definitely want to ensue every soldier is fed. would not surprise me if that included civilians as well
Sky kids: "Wasteland Elder, how do I get strong like you?"
Wasteland Elder: "I make bread every day"
Did I miss something? Was walking around checking my new glasses
wasteland elder can bake
I need to learn how to draw so I can put Wasteland Elder in a cute frilly apron. Writing just doesn't hit like that
it needs to be a cute pink its the law
Wasteland elder is so strong he just needs to punch the bread dough and it would be perfectly cooked
Wasteland Elder can cook a whole chicken by slapping it only once
Much likely
Wasteland Elder would only need one lick to get to the center of a tootsie pop.
What is Wasteland Elder, sky chuck norris?
Yes. He does all his grocery shopping at Home Depot.
How hard do you need to punch a darkness tree or kill to burn it
isle elder can sew and made it for them
With the force of a thousand suns.
Since darkness plants are burned away, I assume it would be like “punching a chicken hard enough to cook it”
what if forest elder is rlly good at foraging and likes to go out and look for little mushrooms sometimes
Solution, use flame thrower
Or become sky one punch man
Those giant swords in GW are actually just bread slicing knives fun fact
Forest Elder just smacks the mushrooms off the trees with her hammer.
Whenever they find an invasive species while foraging they just smack it with their hammer until it’s dead and move on
On my way to sneak a Krill into forest to see how that'll fair out
Forest Mama spreads the word of sustainable foresting
(Ironically, the forest is kinda jacked up in places from not taking proper care of it)
Forest Mama defeats the Krill with just her glare.
Who's stronger: Wasteland Elder or Forest Elder? The answer may shock you
My money's on the army leader that fought krills on a daily basis and was protecting vault
I worship the ground Bird walks on now
Oh, most definitely, but we’re just having fun.
I have a maybe headcanon that the elders were trapped in their small areas a little bit Before the disaster happened, maybe trapped in there by the king purposefully to avoid a war getting worse or something? So while they were in there is when everything started going downhill because the lights are connected to them. The applicable example here is that blue light stopped purifying the water in forest and everything got polluted. The elders were aware what was happening and of the eventual disaster, but couldn’t do anything to stop it.
Oh no I accidentally brought angst into this conversation
It's fine Salem. Personally, I was thinking of the forest and really, only the area directly before Forest Mama's temple is jacked up. It's possible this was an 'industrial' area in general.
Yeah, we did see a tree in that area being chopped down in a spirit memory.
And the spirit got scolded for it, so it's possible they weren't supposed to.
I’m more surprised that they managed to chop down such a large tree and nobody noticed until it was already done.
Maybe they got scolded because the falling tree almost hit the other spirit
It implies the ancestors weren't just going 'eat all the resources and to hell with the consequences' there were steps to protect the forest in place.
True. The fact that actual trees and life remain there is proof, even if darkness plants sprout up.
The more I look at stuff, the more I wonder if they really just merrily continued their path with little steps to their downfall, or if they were doing fine, but Eden was just one very sudden huge mistake/accident
Like if everything was just tiny firecrackers and then someone came in dropped a nuke.
If any elder had to be careless about the environment it probs would be Resh
For all we know Resh cared too, and there was just a flaw in the Eden Crystal's design that no one accounted for.
Like, 'the ancestors were brought down by their own hubris' is sad I guess, but 'it was a genuine accident and none of them deserved it' is worse actually
This poor dude, everything gets blamed on them
”The world was going down the tubes. They needed a scapegoat. They found Resh.”
This is how Lorechat thinks and they can't deny it
I'm still waiting to see Resh as a spirit at least, so many questions, is that its mask ? Is that its head ? Does it wear a long cape? Or is that it's body?
Yeah it is worse, the other version is more angsty tho
Which is why I like it and you don’t

You think? I think 'it was just an accident' is more angsty tbh
I think it’s a big mask, and that’s just a long cape. After all, in the drawing in the Prophecy cave, assuming that is them, he’s humanoid and has legs and arms and a normal circular head and all that.
True… it very well might be. Honestly depends on the situation for which is more likely to make you cry.
not me
Yeah I like the accident idea, with it being no one’s fault, because it’s much sadder.
You know what’s even worse though? If it wasn’t the accident and was a culmination of just bad decisions, but it can’t be blamed on any one person because they all did it to survive and so EVERYONE blames themselves for it
Trying to test out new technology that could be really helpful, but accidentally extinguishing every other spirit, Yup, can feel it,
Sometimes you can do everything right and still fail, and it's a gut punch
OOOOOH YOU’RE RIGHT
so like humanity?
I wonder at what point the Fall became irreversible.
The point when all of the spirits had died, whether by natural causes, dark creatures, etc; if i were to guess
Probably when the giant crystal at eye of eden was completed
✨lorechat getting depressing now ✨
Lorechat often does that
It always has been
Sky is a post apocalyptic setting, angsty and depressing is a natural thing for lorechat to become
That’s why we have Wasteland Baker to cheer us up
Some wholesome to balance out the angst
At least we can still hug the spirits, next is elders turn
Lorechat is always filled with angst and fluff
I've been saying there should be options for hugs and high fives and such in their orbit shops since I got here
YES. YES. YES. YES.
We completed your entire constellation and 'earned your favor' hug us
Yeah! Why can't we hug Prairie elder and climb on prairie's elder pot thing
I WANT THE VALLEY ELDERS TO HUG ME PLEASE
I WANT ALL THE HUGS
I want to train with Tsadi!
I raise you: Take a nap on Prairie Elder
Wasteland Elder will hug our entire body with just one hand.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I WANT THEM TO HUG ME
And my brain devolved into him squeezing us like we're a squeaky toy
IM GETTING SERETONIN FROM THESE THOUGHTS GWAAAAA
I like to imagine that even after the disaster, some spirits survived for a while, maybe the abyss crew, the assembly scouts, and some vault spirits, but could be a number of them. They would have struggled to survive in the post apocalyptic world and ultimately failed.
For some their fate would’ve been already sealed when the disaster happened, for example the vault spirits, since they’re completely cut off from the outside world with no food sources inside. They would have been stuck in there as their food and water supplies slowly dwindled, unable to do anything about it or ask their elders for guidance. Maybe that’s what happened with the praying acolyte… fun!
Constant honking with each squeeze.
I would say " I want to learn how to craft those diamonds from Teth " but I don't want to do Eden 2
they can hug us as hard as they want because we don’t have breakable bones, so they get super excited
ahhhh can please i race down the slopes witb the valley elders tgc???
The race starts and they’re already at the bottom.
TGC: They play as children so let's give them the ability to get hugged
The players: -want hugs from everything-
the Valley Elder(s) move really fast, it's actually kinda scary.
They'd get too distracted fighting each other
Legend says they’re just one elder that moves so fast they get mistaken as two
Except for the smoke monster in Fire Trial. It got what it deserved.
not for me, their greatestfan (i think)
I volunteer to hug those too. They deserve love.
I felt actual bloodlust at the end of fire trial. I hunted them down for sport
Every time I finish fire trial I go out of my way to not harm the worm on a string
My god, the duality between those two messages.
|| head pats from vault elder ||
the duality of lorechat
Question: Dark creatures deserve to be hugged?
krebs yes, krill no
Hug all the Crabs!
I hug everything that gives consent
Crabs yes, Krills yes as well, worm on a strings too and The Big Guy too!
When i said the Valley Elder(s) move scary fast i mean fast
Big guy will just try to eat us again.
we go plap on their head
They're good at sliding around. I think their old cutscene in light awaits had them sliding in a circle around the alter actually
Yeah and? I risk having to escape again but get the Once In A Lifetime thing of hugging a leviathan
Oh Megabird you’re right-
s p i d
Fair enough.
Could we calculate their speeds
I’m bringing legokidlogan back for this
No, I'm pretty sure he'd tell you we don't have enough info
Not again-
The math
NONONO MY BRAIN HAD ENOUGH THINKING GAVDHAGSGAJHHAGDHSD
let lorechat math
*starts chanting *
MORE MATH MORE MATH MORE MATH
And here you can see the clear divide between those who are good at math and those who are not
The duality of lore chat again
NOOOO
We already have the height of The Valley Elders. All we have to do is find the length Sah traveled and then divide it by the time it took for Sah to reach its ending point
Baudshaaaaaaaaaw
Help.
sah has heelies. so does mekh. thats why they’re so fast.
Yeah that shouldn’t be hard
yea, calculating speed isn't too hard as long as you have the distance. speed = distance/time
Ok. Step 1. Where’s the Elder Height Chart? Can someone pull it up
whispering
no one get it
Valley Elder(s) are 7'5"
Spikey Elder is slightly taller tbh
EVERYONE. THIS IS IMPORTANT INFO
There’s also the Acceleration, which is something that we can’t calculate as easily. But, Sah’s acceleration is more impressive then their speed
Why the 4 so short
IT’S THE HEELIES I TELL YOU. THE HEELIES
Their hair just sticks up farther
That's not what I meant
this is why i love lorechat
Oh ok, my apologies
THE TRUTH REVEALED!
My stupid didn’t thought about it. So if each realms are associated with a specific creature, such as birds for isle of dawn and butterflies for daylight prairie, then forest if the realm of jellyfish. Why didn’t I thought about earlier yo
So which creatures are associated with valley and wasteland ? I wanna be sure that it’s the mantas and the whale
Valley could be mantas, Wasteland could be Krabs , Vault could be cosmic mantas, and Eden could be krills
Thinking about it, it’s true that the wasteland elder mask has ressemblance with a whale’s head
Ok, here are pictures capturing The Valley Elder’s height and distance. We could flip the photo and see how much of his own height he traveled.
All we need to know the the length of a skykid or elder, then stack up and boom
you could use pixels rather than irl measurements to make it easier since Sky measurements are iffy
someone ban baudshaw for too much math /j
I can't even count to 3!
my brain has a stroke when doing long division
Ok: but I’m not that good at pixel measurements
okokok on the topic of math…
when the heck am i ever gonna need to multiply/divide/subtract/add monomials
“on the topic of math…”
add what
mmm
ath?
What math level are you on?
Anzu, could I kindly ask a question regarding your previous image,
What. Does. That. Even. Means.
POLYNOMIALS :D
I HATED IT TOO
MAYBE I STILL DO
i have a love/hate relationship with polynomials
Alasdair x Polynomials
Slow Burn
Enemies to Lovers
9.99*10^10 words
people who arent good at math reading lorechat:
Can relate
wasteland elder is the tallest because they're wearing high heels /hj
uncle high heels my beloved <3
math level: pain
That's just every level tho
I got my glasses from the box, but forgot how it looked, put it back on my face and get surprise by how well I can see now
true
I found something: The Valley Elder accelerates as fast as a Toyota Corolla
...dude
it means “this is where you start to cry, Anzu”
We knew the Elders were amazing, I am not surprised
Oh boy-
Well, now baudshaw How Fast Is A Krill
Why'd you ask him for more math?
NO DONT GIVE THEM IDEAS
Never underestimate the power of a toyota corolla
It begins again.
Our boi Baudshaw spent 3 days calculating gravity. Don't sleep on him
which is...?
NOOOOOOOOO
Ain't no way he can find out a Krills attack speed
So The Valley Elder goes about 178 inches during the cutscene, and it takes approximately 0.75 seconds. We can find that its speed is 6.36 mph, which really isn’t that impressive. What’s more impressive is its acceleration, going from 0-6 mph instantaneously.
crying and screaming
How fast can the average human go?
math can be fun, math can be hella tedious, math can be hell. it really depends on your skill level and your tolerance and your instructor's patience when teaching you. it isn't for everyone and that's valid and it can be a pain no matter what
8 mph. So just a little more.
just like translating Latin
Usain Bolt has an acceleration rate of 8-10 m/s squares. Sah has an acceleration of 12.43 at the very minimum
Sah really is an athlete beyond us
'Minimum' is right, because I'm pretty sure he was just screwing around with his partner
I do not want to see Sah at full power
Speak for yourself, I wanna see the elders pop off!
you begin the cutscene, One of the twins accelerates fast enough to break the sound barrier, running directly through the edge of their pocket dimension and into the world. you have released the twins
What if Sah stands directly in front of you and runs?
Then there is now strawberry jam splattered all over the pavement.
like.. into you? I think you would die
Next up: Krill attack speed.
He's only 7 feet tall. Average human is 5'5 to 6 feet. If he was directly in front of us, he'd trip on top of us as he tried to run.
It's the ones like Prairie that'd make us go squish
happened to me once true story
if they're only 7'5" that means they can technically fit into most human rooms.
eXPLAin
They’d just have to bend down every time they entered a doorway.
He could probably accelerate at the speed of sound. You would die.
I am getting the feeling that I should not have said anything
Sky's 2nd Apocalypse
Accelerationpocalypse
edit: Accelepocalypse
Assuming you're right, and assuming he's serious and actually wants to hurt us. I don't think he would tbh
Unless we beat him in a race. Then it’s a death match.
This is so well drawn
that's our Vela, resident lore artist
-death wheeze-
So true, though.
Does anyone remember "Literacy Is A Curse"?
I love the way the art implies that at least one of the valley twins reluctantly complies with our attempts to measure everything
You're implying the Valley Twins wouldn't love to help us to show off
they keep laughing and throwing off the measurements
lore chat broke in the oob where a copy of the elder is T posing
I want an actual lore explanation for those t posing oobs. Just for giggles
broke in the 3d artist's files
they say somewhere in the Village of Dream's cloud void is the 5th cutscene valley spirits in a conga line
It’s just dominance. Over everything that enters the Temple.
oh you're back ! i missed seeing you here
Alasdair may I link you to the "literacy is a curse" conversation (aka the conversation about in-universe fanfic)
Vela can I save that picture?
yes please
Here, does anyone have good videos of themselves getting krilled?
Good times.
yea i did my usual thing of joining Discord servers when sleep deprived and using lorechat to procrastinate, i missed yall
what a masterpiece
@frigid tinsel @sharp lichen Literacy Is A Curse convo starts here
The desire to help VS the desire to keep all my lights. I have a Switch. If you want I can watch you get krilled a record the footage.
How much winged lights do you have? I have 152, if I lose some of them I won’t have my 11th star
I’m still working on finishing up the ||Sky version of My Immortal. I’m up to chapter 21 now.||
I think I'm almost to 120. Either way searching every winged light spot to make sure which ones the krill took is tedious.
i wasn't here but i was called out (don't worry the fic isn't gonna be that bad)
121
while cringey teen fan stuff is hilarious, i like to think of very niche or unpopular actors and sportsmen getting overhelmed their one fan took the time to show them their appreciation
proud victor getting teary eyed when the stagehand gives them something drawn by a visibly very young fan after they lost yet another race by a few, and they recognise their red cape billowing as they race down the slopes...
Is that a joke?
but srsly guys TrickyWolfer and I have been working on the first "Literacy Is A Curse" comic
plsghghhg im trying to finish this drawing with fan seaon spirits why do i keep getting distracted-
…No. I’ve edited all the “bad” parts out, but I’ve completely replaced the character names, locations, and some of the events. It’s fun.
where is it
proud victor, champion of moths, beloved
I’ll just get a video of the Krill destroying a manta with facts and logic
It’s all contained in a google doc at the moment.
I asked Lapis if they'd do it
We do a little krill trolling if you know what I mean
Why, do you want to see it?
good question
i love how the video wasn't loading then it glitched to one very loud screech that scared my bunny
Well, if you do, just tell me.
I’ll send it to you and anyone else who wants to see it in DM’s.
Lol
OH THIS IS KILLING ME ITS TOO CUTE
I saw them in a spirit tierlist and
I'm sorry my dude but your head makes you look like an earthworm in a buff suit
Hate
you're so mean to them :(
of course the fanfic convo happened late at night
It’s now Earthworm Jim.
We had a party in here
PROUD VICTOR BELOVED true story I worked so hard to buy their cape bc moth me thought they were So Cool, I still really like their cape, red is such a color
that very young fan could be you !
I like the red switch cape best, but I need that level 2 cape for an OC.
Proud Victor is proof that ancestors can also be doomed to the fate of perpetually sliding on ice
proud victor is one of my favorite spirits, they just spectacularly slip across the rink and get back up posing like they won first prize, hilarious friend. i want to hang out with them.
They absolutely ate it, it was glorious. I like to think he does this regularly, and he's a crowd favorite
Exactly. They’re such a “human” spirit, so to speak. You can definitely see a person like that in real life.
they fell but they got back up with no shame, ready to keep going. i aspire to be like them
Maybe they do it on purpose as a dramatic entrance
whoever made proud victor like that, i owe u my life
He walks in stage, everyone sees the light shining off his red cape, everything goes silent, he takes a step, slips and fall AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!
CHAD
Start the show off with a laugh. Not a bad strategy.
I wonder if coming down from the rafters and sliding gracefully is how you're supposed to do your entrance in valley. Bowing champion does the same thing (except successfully, he looks cool)
Us skids have been getting it wrong this whole time
Proud victor fanclub
am bacc
every athlete in Valley in dramatic as hell, they love it
If the spirits don't necessarily live in the same time period, you think the Proud Victor was a kid when the Bowing Champion was champ?
The red cape spirit walked so dream girl could run,
actually they kinda slid
nyoom
YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SLIDE WHILE STANDING UP THO 💀
NOT IF YOU WANT TO MAKE AN ENTRANCE.
-{ Gracefully Falling }-
like sledding but without the sled
Proud Victor begs to differ
proud victor would yell at the first place champion they're on friendly term with "I LOSE EVERY WEEK, YOU'RE NOTHING SPECIAL" as a joke
imagine if proud victor does it for a really long time
Skykids can theoretically trip-slide on the ice rink for as long as your phone can handle so...
"Ancestors fear death and causing it to others [WITH A NOTABLE EXCEPTION FOR VALLEY SPIRITS, WHO DO NOT SEEM TO VALUE THEIR OWN LIVES]"
-Salem
valley spirits are just built different
“Subvert expectations” - Proud Victor, probably.
Proud Victor has Goofy voice
Omg I love this idea
proud victor has a loud roaring laughter and teaming up with them is a delight even if you end up losing
no Proud Victor sounds like the Dung Defender from Hollow Knight
and everyone loves that guy
YOURE RIGHT
OH
MY
GOD
CURSED
NOT THE DUNG DEFENDER
Proud victor throws the best after race parties and everyone wants to be invited to them
then when they actually win they end up crying
i want every valley spirit to be my friend, maybe backflip champion would give me a manta ride...
Forget the Valley Elders, Proud Victor is the true celebrity of the Valley.
Manta race down the valley, the loser pays for resizes
Valley Elder(s) breathed a sigh of relief when the skids proud Proud Victor to ascend. finally, they have the spotlight and no one to challege them
Imagine betting on having to use a resize potion
Lul, my rebirth theory means the valley elders will never know peace
you lose, use the resize potion, get taller. profit
not if u like being short
The Elders when they see Proud Victor return as a spirit: War flashbacks intensify.
I don’t want to be tall. I simply want to be
they're like a puppy
I like to imagine that the “gravestones” along the walls of the valley temple and the buildings you use to enter the sliding and flying races are memorials to famous athletes. maybe one of them is for proud victor, I like to imagine one is definitely for the dreams skater
Ok let ke re-cap so far, Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Valley Twins, Tsadi, Lamed, Forest Crying Spirit, Crab Whisperer and Proud Victor fan club ? Am I forgetting someone?
Like walk of fame stars
You're forgetting young skater Yui
Fire prophet
Cannoneer
crab whisperer got a fan club ? 👀
Only me then ?
i'm such a Sneaky Survivor fan i wrote them into my fic.
any you're forgetting Cannoneer
Admiring Actor.
🤨 hmmmm
i may have hidden behind the nearby spear to stare at them walking around the sapling without triggering the quest 👉 👈
Tsadi best elder
Fun fact ! they make fire prophet's chest pound emote (after beating up the tree and doing the pleading emote)
mighty Cannoneer
Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Valley Twins, Tsadi, Lamed, Resh, Forest Crying Spirit, Crab Whisperer and Proud Victor Fire Prophet, Cackling Cannoneer and Admiring Actor ? Am I forgetting someone?
Why you cross out Resh :(
king propaganda has no power here /j
I wish those pants existed as a cosmetic
You're still forgetting young skater
Oh and that one,
i think to closest to their pants is the cargo pants from Jelly Whisperer
i am my own fanclub for my fav spirits
||As long as there are King supporters here, it will always have power||
Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Valley Twins, Tsadi, Lamed, Resh, Forest Crying Spirit, Crab Whisperer and Proud Victor Fire Prophet, Cackling Cannoneer and Admiring Actor, Skater Girl, ? Am I forgetting someone?
Do you think Cannoneer was specifically built to be loved by the fandom so that everyone would get shocked at their fate?
They've got the edgy looks, the arson, the hammy personality that attracts the crowd, a weapon...
Long Live The King!
I didn't like Cannoneer until quest 4
season of cannoneer
actor fan club
Cannoneer probs said " Breathing ? HA cringe! I don't need none of that!"
That’s why they never came out of the ocean
TGC making Cannoneer: I'm gonna give the gays everything they want
Yes
