I talked about it in this conversation. I'm annoyed because I have to keep repeating myself in the span of two minutes.
I don't have the brain power right now, I'm sleepy
Oh! The hint is for the object I was talking about, not pots. Sorry for lack of clarification
Anyways since y’all were taking about the Elders have
it definitely happens to all of us
I'm sorry we missed it
I'm sorry I'm getting snippy, I'm just kinda dead mentally
Is it
I mean 'I've heard this info, but lots of things ended up getting scrapped in concept so I don't know if it's true now’
?
Because as I said above, that’s not really enough clarification without saying where it was from. I can’t find another message of yours explaining it
is that the valley elders?
I want to help but I'm just so done with being awake right now
Go sleep/eat/whatever you need to do [whenever I’m tired and confused it’s usually one of those two] and maybe we can talk about it later?
Just wanted to say that’s really beautiful chefs kiss
I should have been wide awake for a few more hours at least... I hope I'm not getting sick.
“Oh God There’s Two Of Them”
Jokes aside, I really enjoy your writing, and this is no exception :3c
I saw a comic that somebody did about people being falling stars and it really made me think of that text u wrote, I love the idea of skykids having no memory and therefore are confused about their place in such a lonely empty world
I mean I’m still trying to write chapter 1 of the main skyfic but the problem is how to write birth
You can omit birth from that sentence and it would still be accurate
The problem is always writing I update my five on a03 promicse chapter 2 then never write it lmao
I just think skykids don’t really know what to do, even after going through the intro cave. Perhaps only after they gain their first winged light do they get a sense of what to do.
Elders I think are made with their purpose in mind. They still have to find themselves and can explore themselves but there’s a lot more encoded in them than skids
But I feel like with skykid birth, since they fall with no memory I feel like you wouldn’t need much detail since it’s pretty ambiguous itself
I feel like the birth of a skykid is the fragments of megabird, kinda like how ori is made in that game ahh I forgot the name
I have a lot of unfinished fics on FFN.net from 2014 and I still get comments asking if I’m gonna finish them
They are like the players.
They dont know where they are from, what they are, what happened or what to do at first.
But there was one portal they can use. The bell was tolling, beckoning to be approached, the skykid can explore and is rewarded with wl.
It is over time, as the skykid learns and grows with the player, they start to piece together things and learn about the world around them.
Sure, the player can look things up, which does not explain who the skykid would know, though that is partly where the game leaves it up to the player to conclude.
dude I’m jealous last time I got traction on a fic was on watt pad when I wrote edgy langst Voltron... I cringe
But I only write super indulgent fics and I don’t have a schedule so haahah I don’t mind
Idk what or who lambaste is but I’m curious show MeE I’ll let u read my fan fiction cringe as a treat
That is a very apt description except skykids are born on Isle in my fic cos that’s what happened to me and it makes more sense.
Do you mind if I save this for later reference?
yes exactly, their entire existence has intension, which is why we are so confident they are just deities
you can.
Is your writing posted somewhere?
and very true, with the player projection theory in mind, skykids are absolutely clueless to what's going on, they dont understand a thing, or if there's even a point to anything, a lot of them think the goal is saving the skids in eden, a lot think there IS no goal, they are all so confused, with some being much more confused than others
I mean, I say a lot that moths are babies kinda jokingly but it’s very true. They’re not quite babies, more like toddlers or preschoolers who know some basic things like walking and talking. They have emotions but don’t know what to do with them. They are told what to do and don’t know enough to do otherwise tho may question things a bit.
It’s only after growing through experience do they gain the ability to express and explore themselves and interact with their surroundings as they see fit
I do like to think sometimes if the rebirth cycle is for the replay ability in-game or if canonically there’s a possibility that after eden that’s where the skykid life ends?
I’m personally not too sure about them having intentions vs just figuring out what they want to be like later like humans, but them being sent down specifically to rule each realm and that’s why each one has the perfect personality for it is a neat idea that I will consider
Although, the implication that Megabird controls society so much that even the rulers are created directly by them specifically with that purpose in mind is… hmmm
no, canonically, rebirth does indeed make us stronger, the true goal is to save every single spirit in the game, and we don't have access to every single spirit yet, they are hidden behind clouds in places we are not able to reach yet
so rebirth is kind of just a utility for skykids
It is Also possible that rebirth does the same thing for mantas and other assorted light creatures…
I feel like it would be super dark and fun if you could die.. like those statues you see in eden, they have the form of a skykid too?
I'm not saying that they chose to have intention, it's more like the light gave them that duty and purpose
I like to think elder creatures are made from light creatures who have the most memories and lives from rebirthing so many times
Oh, so do you mean they were created/born with that intention [which is what the second paragraph of my original post was about] or that they somehow got closer access to the light, which gave them that intention later?
former
Oh yeah, then original paragraph about the implied level of control over society still stands
Is the megabird controlling society taken from the LA timeline?
It’s a hypothetical, so probably not
I’ve been thinking of the Elders being born with these things in mind:
- you have been made and directed to the physical world by Megabird and connected in body & spirit to the Light.
- Megabird commands over the Light and other godly shenanigans whatever or Megabird is the Light (havent figured that out yet).
- there are beings in the world who are more detached from the Light and need guidance.
- your duty is to lead these beings to the Light.
Everything else the Elders had to figure out for themselves. Vault Elder wasn’t born a scholar, but they found a propensity towards learning and acquiring knowledge. Forest Elder wasn’t born a blacksmith, but by interacting with other trades they discovered their tenacity with construction and metalworking. Wasteland Elder wasn’t born a warrior, but found their brute strength useful in resolving conflicts.
They had a lot of time to figure out their roles. By the time the Chosen One arrived, they had themselves sorted out with relatively stable authority
In my mind forest elder should be buff bc blacksmith
But also big strong lady is v cool so I’m biased
You don’t have to be big hulking buff to smith
Sooooo turns out I was just looking at it wrong. When I restarted my game in ||orbit|| I thought the kid was giving me a winged light. Turns out they were just giving me the ac I got but in one batch.
My Valley Elder(s) angst fic does explore this but it’s different from the journey the rest of the Elders had cos they’re different.
As with the rest of your kind...
Unlike the rest of your kind....
Oh ok, but still begs to question the first wl you get whenv you don’t have anybody ascended, when you walk through the door in eden you get 1 wl you can hear it in the cutscene
True
Well in the cutscene forest uses some kinda Matilda movie style power to lift the hammer and stuff so it makes sense Forest isn’t buff
There’s a winged light you get just by walking through the rebirth door
Yeah!! Who gives that wl, do you start the game with 1 wl too? Or are you completely empty lol
I think it’s a game mechanic so you’re not reborn capeless.
Lorewise, I think it represents the winged light another skykid had to give you to revive you in Eden.
That makes sense
It could also be the King/Prince if you believe in certain theories... Who knows
this game's lore is ambiguous enough to allow stuff like this
What if in the beta tgc made it so you could only be revived if someone put a wl where you died

Winged light didn’t exist in the beta Light Awaits version of the game. Before you would lose expressions.
I like the idea of the king reviving you, bc in orbit that’s where you also get your first wl, after you hug the skykid in the dark room, after they return the favour when you return to sky
I mean like in the current beta
That sounds painful imagine losing pleaful parent emote lmao at that point I’m good without it
I think it was a really cool mechanic and very interesting lore wise,
...but no longer canon
But yea, it would make more sense and be very interesting, tho I think a lot of people would find that frustrating hence why you’re revived as soon as you die in Eden. But it makes sense in-universe cos you’re giving winged light to petrified skykids, why wouldn’t the same have to happen to you?
Imagine dying way ahead and waiting two weeks to play again because no one reach or find your statue or unlucky server switched.
I think it’d created an interesting dynamic if your friends or whoever was accompanying you died before you and you have winged light to their corpses, but nobody was left to revive you. You get your friends to ascend quickly but you have to wait
Oh I never answered this.
I have an AO3 but there’s nothing there yet. My Valley Elder(s) fic is the closest to completion so I’ll post it there when I am satisfied with it.
That image is horrible… I usually get to the sand dunes so I can imagine the pain I would feel while waiting for resurrection
In my ficverse, it’s rather common to wait a couple days or three to be found & resurrected, tho there have been many who’s been petrified for weeks, months, and in a couple cases a year. One of my sky OCs was a terrified moth facing stormlock for the first time alone and hid when they died. When they were finally found, ascended, and reborn, they discovered that five weeks had passed.
They didn’t know it because I think petrified skykids and ancestors are not conscious. Not quite unconscious, just dead and unaware, knowing and feeling only the darkness that embalms them.
Huh I like that thought
my friend realized something genius about the tlp spirits and its that their shackles represent the restriction and 'shackles' of adult life
(thank u @hushed steeple )
ive never even noticed the lanterns are SHOWN being INSIDE THE WALLS, how has no one ever pointed this out???
Hi, does anyone know the elements or what each symbol means? 🥺
Those are the 6 orbs you find during the Season of Enchantment! I can elaborate more, but they represent, earth, fire, water, air, darkness, and knowledge
iirc Sophos(?) made a diagram describing them
I really appreciate your answer
@tulip aspen they aren’t rlly lanterns, but one of the devs actually gave detail on that room. It was released in the season of belonging and it was said to hold “forbidden knowledge”
These lantern shaped things are supposed to be holding that knowledge so in a way, vault is jus one enormous library
WHOA STORAGE METHOD
wooly manta impostor
Swimming on air
Headcanon that they rely on wind currents to carry them; if there's none they'll roll on the ground like a tumbleweed
I imagine they’re like dandelion fluff
Is the implication of this supposed to be “tons of these lanterns are hidden inside vault walls that we can’t see”
they store knowledge that can be projected, a common theme thoughout the realm
and seeing as things get trippy in the open part of that area, im willing to bet some illusions are indeed leaking out into the air around you as you pass through there
all vault walls, basically
If the lanterns hold forbidden knowledge
Does that mean one of them contains a body count of the Wasteland war /hj
Maybe one has information on if the fainting warrior got rescued and the memory there was because it was traumatic
I like to pretend he did but in all likelihood that didn’t happen
Not all of them hold forbidden knowledge, it’s jus that one area
Yea but the archive has a lot of lanterns
We don't know if they store 1mb or 1tb of info
Oh yea I forgot it was called the archive
Here’s where I got that idea by the way
I miss seeing these live streams to be honest, most of them would give small hints and details on the lore like this one
so the area decayed enough to break in before the fall of the ancestors ? interesting
unless the grampa spirit got it after the fall, which may be likely
Voluntary came up with a funny headcanon that Wise was raiding the archives to steal something from it
And I headcanoned basically that they were trying to steal Gloating Narcissist's hard drive so that their whole family could see them in their hot stannable glory
There’s no exact timeline really
Decay in a building doesn’t necessarily mean it was when the fall of the kingdom happened, who knows, it could’ve been before too
And if it happened after it means ppl survived that event and died later on
There WAS one in concept
though we don't know how much still holds true
They aren’t even the only belonging family member to just… steal things. Sparkler parent just steals sparklers directly from an elder temple without thinking twice.
I am seriously beginning to think that the reason they look so fancy and rich is because they stole all of that stuff/are just blackmailing others. The only other explanation is them maybe making musical instruments, but they seem really into committing crimes
Well the first part is actually what Volu's theory is based on
Season of Belonging: The Family of Crime
dear goodness
One of them has definitely robbed a bank at some point
Belonging Family 🤝 Abyss crew
scavenging rich people’s stuff in the post-apocolypse
post-apocalypse for both?
I don’t even think belonging family happened post apocalypse. They just stole things
Possible only piece of evidence is sparkler parent sneaking through the temple to avoid being caught
Belonging Family 🤝 Abyss crew
Thieves
Conspiracy theory. Abyss guide comes from the belonging family and that’s why they 1) look rich and 2) are unfazed by the concept of theft
Abyss Guide is the lost Belonging child
The lost child no one is familiar with /j
Wait… what if they just stole rich peoples clothes to use them as a disguise so no one would question them walking around the temple and archives… the wise grandparent isn’t even a scholar
Fake it til you make it
Someone asks them about history or math or whatever and they just stand there trying not to panic
@keen shore this was something that was explained more when the season of belonging was active
The grandma (season guide) was feeling lonely and wanted her family to gather again. So they had us bring everyone together and for the gathering, each spirit wanted to bring one item or gift. The spirit in the archive was bringing one of the knowledge cubes and the room that the mom was taking from was an old decaying room filled with “junk”. If u look at it in that context it’s not rlly stealing at all.
Abyss guide became estranged from the Belonging family for whatever reason, gathered a crew, and stole away to piracy on the high seas
Oh, that makes sense… but then again, why was the sparkler parent sneaking around. I still think they are hiding something
What if the knowledge cube Wise was trying to get contains Gloating Narcissist's AI lmao
"HEY GUYS! I BROUGHT VAULT'S LOCAL HOT GUY!"
Belonging Guide: Is there something you'd like to present, honey?
Wise Grandparent: Yes, in fact! Take a look at this hot guy I brought from Vault! *puts Gloat's lantern on the table
Confetti Cousin: You didn't even try making it look like a guy...
Wise Grandparent: Wait for it... *turns on the lantern to project Gloating Narcissist in all their hot glory
Confetti Cousin: Oh my- 🔥😳🔥
grandpas just like breaking the law, i dont think wise needs to do that to have a reason to do a little trespassing in the vault
"grandpas" with an s
who's the other lawbreaking grandpa
mine
oh i thought you were gonna say grouch
refusing to help cops is thankfully not a crime (yet)
pretty sure in the jokes grouch is blamed for the black friday glitch
hero
didnt see that but this is sweet and my favorite
The other grandpa got arrested for robbery
haven’t seen this emoji before lol, imagine a pre corruption krill just walking like this
the scrimbly
scrunkly
squished
here comes that boy✨
What is everyone’s thoughts on what these small rock stacks are? I wandered through forest looking for them with a glow spell, but these were the only ones I found. There’s probably more though, the mixture of dark realm and them being a tiny thing to look for that blends in with the environment perfectly make them really hard to find.
Where I got each picture & short description
- Where the shivering spirit memory starts, located next to the grave behind them. Interesting side note is that this spirit has a darkness plant bulb on them, which I didn’t notice until today
- next to the exit of the same area (loading dock?)
- in the small underground space of the same area
- in tearful light miner memory. It’s hard to tell because of the spirit memory turning the color into white [have seen people interpret these as light ingots(?)] but personally I believe these are the same rock stacks. If they are, it’s really interesting because iirc it would line up perfectly with the amount of spirits who died in that memory…
makeshift altars perhaps
OH OH OK LEMME JUST GET A PIC BUT THERES AN IRL EQUIVALENT
Another interesting note that Might help is that these are, to my memory, only in forest - haven’t been able to find them anywhere else
maybe a lot of workplace/sudden/hasty deaths happen there
Cairns are used to mark paths, generally on terrain liable to be covered by snow (don't actually make one if there isn't one already, you don't know what creature used the stone you're taking), I saw some a few years ago when I hiked in the alps.
They can also be makeshift gravestones if nothing else is around.
all spirits have a darkness bulb, usually inside of them, that just looks like a visual inconsistency there
the stack in the miner cave glows during the memory??
i love seeing cairns while hiking, especially when there's room to leave my own mark on them, it feels so powerful
Considering Shivering Trailblazer's name, it's not unlikely these cairns have the former meaning (including the ones in the cave that hold candles, maybe they found another use later after they were built), while Tearful Light miner made them as gravestones.
That bulb is much larger than spirit… bulbs? normally are. I can check later to see if they have a separate bulb inside their chest as well
And as for the stack glowing, it doesn’t really glow as much as being solid white, but objects in general in spirit memories are the same way
cairns, that's the name I was looking for
cairns are super cool but park rangers will rightfully knock yours down if you try to make one, because taking nearby stones, especially in rivers, can affect the local wildlife
This is probably the most likely explanation, although, I have to wonder. Why aren’t they left in any other realm? Was forest discovered after every other realm? [makes sense since it’s called “hidden”…]
Thank you for the explanation, by the way!
Oh, for some reason when you said “you don’t know what creature was using it before you” my mind immediately jumped to Mountain Ghosts
DON'T TAKE THOSE DOWN! MY MOTHER IS BURIED UNDER THERE!
(for legal reasons, this is a joke)
Would them be makeshift gravestones in the light miner’s memory imply that someone moved the bodies later (since they have other gravestones later on) and if so… why
Also side note. I really want to know whose grave it is that the shivering trailblazer starts next to, I can’t remember if the spirit acknowledges the grave at all though
might've been moved to continue the mine.
yea sure people died here but we got power diamonds to make. move those bodies and get back to work
another terribly human thing i learned while hiking: if enough humans walk in a grassy area in the same pattern (desire paths), touch a statue on the same spot or hold onto the same stone for support while threading an incline, then they will leave a mark
Rock stacks are something I would do all the time when I found rocks in the woods so
Give them back. You will anger the Mountain Ghosts /j
there is no workplace death in the forest mines
I’d leave them in place lol, a little surprise when people came through
i'd like to see ancestor desire paths or a mark in a stone showing so many held on to it while walking down a steep hill
wasn't it theorized that winged lights are kind of like this, but for skykids?
Would one ancestor desire path be the one on the prairie village island where the wave spirit is, the one they walk up to repair the bell ?
YEAH EXACTLY
yea, I've likened them to a "well-treaded path in the woods"
One theory suggests they appear where many skykids have been and coalesce into winged light, like creating a well-treaded path in the woods by many footsteps — hence why they appear in the same spots. In-game they may be in the same spot for accessibility but in-universe they could land anywhere.
AWWW imagine if most paths in the prairie are desire paths, that would be adorable
prairie spirits are so cute, i wanna take a nap next to one
isn't sand... too sandy for a desire path?
All of the prairie spirits look so huggable… and so does the elder
sand ?
every spirit is huggable, guys
Yes but the prairie spirits are even More huggable than most spirits they’re like… made for hugging
isn't isle of dawn made of- oohhh, you're talking about the FERTILE isle
talking about prairie
oh no i wrote the wrong word
No, you’re right, isle is just one massive desire path
technically you can make a desire path in the sand. if people are constantly walking one way, it prevents a dune from coalescing
If forest was discovered last where did the forest elder live before their realm was found? Vault elders basement ?
the prairie spirits sound the most chill, prairie just has sleepy late spring noon vibes. when the summer heat didnt kick in yet so you can nap in the shade
hey al hows the skid anatomy doc going btw?
uhhhhhhhhhhh
i've been writing fanfiction
Oh no…
alasdair
did you set your computer on fire
imagine the next season in the vault goes down
that would be dope ngl
No I did. Sorry [microwaved it]
its an absolute mood al dw
we'll get there eventually and we'll never have to directly re-answer questions again
I want the next season of Vault to give us the gift of literacy
I want to read all your forbidden knowledge
it's on a google doc so even if my laptop exploded, I could finish it on mobile (hate typing on mobile tho)
still seething that we never got a real vault season
of all the times there was a crossover it just had to be at the same time they finally give us a vault season
LET US READ THE BOOKS
gasp
what if knowledge is stalled in the weird shapes via like
light magic
so its pure knowledge and thought and you need to know some flavor of the light magic (like higher level levitation & telekinesis emotes, or maybe even that purple light) to understand anything!
skykid only know how to float, fly, levitate, and use normal variety magic
I remember writing the first 2 chapters of my fanfic on mobile
at 10pm
haha
this is literally my tabs rn, mate
I Want an actual vault season So badly you do not even know
My ideal one is one centered around a space where the vault spirits grow food like they do with the trees. So you have a big hall of fruit trees and other crops that they maintain in order to be able to eat without bringing in food from Outside
Omg yess
how do you live like this
Tag yourself I’m the tab labeled “Gender”
THE OLDEST SKYKIDS ARE 4-5 YEARS OLD WE'RE OLD ENOUGH TO LEARN HOW TO READ
I never had a vault season before
GENDER CANNONEER CONFIRMED??
their name is Vidar in my fic. people call them "Vi"
dont worry there's worse
im the "disruption" tab
Yall tabs are nothingg
i'm the ine that i think says "Miscellaneous"
I'm listening to OSP while I do work (the first three tabs)
ANOTHER OSP ENJOYER?
YOUVE SUMMONED US
OSP IS GREAT
Whats OSP?
I was looking for gender-neutral family terms
overly sarcastic productionsss
can you send me the link
I don't have a good one for uncle/aunt
the only one I've actually been using is sib/sibby (sibling) and it seems to work so far but
Ah, okay
unfortunately I cannot say the whole headline in this server without getting beaned
Skie adults of the candle
based off our convo earlier, I'd want it to not be a single massive map, but dozens and dozens of corridors branching off deep into the mountain
they can deep the design simple like the cube-constructed corridors in the tunnels on floor one, so we can get a LOT of map and a LOT of content IN those maps
WAIT
.....what if they made these expanses randomly generated......
so that people can still server merge inside these places, it would just lock every hour before reset and then be completely different when unlocked
then we can have cool tunnel exploration, sky dnd time
maybe the krill snuck into the tunnels, or we're introduced to the hermit spiders in-game
the spirits we'll follow during this season could be a group of nobles from valley who havent died yet, and know about a secret buried deep in the farthest reaches of the vault
i vouch that it's something that can cure darkness corruption on dying ancestors, but it could also be something like how the elders came to the kingdom, what caused the war, records following the life of the king, or all of the above!
i love what your brain is doing. that's a brilliant idea and such an easy transition.
DOODLE BRAIN GO BRR
Vault of knowledge backrooms ?
What the
bru that'd trip me out to see the elevator go down
randomly generated sky
interesting
like the towers would change positions like harry potter's staircases because vault has all the weird mind stuff?
Elevators normally go up and down tbf
going to eeby deeby
what do you mean by towers?
Oh no not again
just as a personal thing id like it if the krill stayed the heck in wasteland because i'm, conveniently, terrified of krill and theres already one krill in starlight technically
never been able to complete it because i get scared by the krill and leave the map
DINK NO
krill in floor -5 of the Vault
MY LAST NAME?
sheesh i mean tunnels whoops
p le as e n o
HELP NOT ME TYPOING
Slink’s full name = Slink Mink Dink
the next season in the Vault. the elevator goes down and in the darkness you see this
the circus is in town rn if u wanna see me
yeah, maybe not krills, but like i said it'd be a cool time to properly introduce the hermit spiders, and maybe the shadow worms to non-trials(?)
what about a darkness monster that actively roams the corridors, can sniff players out from a distance, and has to be stealthed past, it'll hear you fly or jump and see you too
Lol
not a vault season but I’d really enjoy a cave based season, the title lightminer really leaves a lot to be explored, and I think it could be an engaging concept, especially since flying in smaller spaces would be difficult, i feel itd be cool to utilize the swimming mechanic, flooded mines perhaps in the forest area due to constant rain..
and like iy could go eithe rdirect colour wise, something more dull like abyss with darkstone or something more colourful like crystals and i just!! MINES AND CAVES, caves r so cool and swag and crystals r cool
oh then yes, that's exactly the idea im going for on why it could and would work!
Procedurally generated infinite hallways with a terrifying monster you have to avoid. This is literally just vault of knowledge backrooms. The worst part? I could totally see this existing with all the purple light stuff
My real name is Fragaria Mangifera Imposteur nee Cosmique Magica Star II
it is that deep, the Vault could be soooooooo deep
question
why is skybot called doodle bot
is it named after me???/j
omg imagine if most of the light sources are dark stones
they definitely need to both expand and explore on the fact that they mined in forest
forest is a bloated enough realm already, being one of the biggest, with 3 different seasons giving it 4 different maps and massive changes on old ones, but i think they gotta do it anyways.
there should be a tunnel behind where the light miner cries.
and it should go FAR.
forest is so cool it gets all the seasons and its what it deserves
honestly i think a submerged cave system could be the underwater equivalent of wind paths, resurface in water areas of seasonal spots
forest >>>>
that'd be so pretty ngl
different shades too just for aesthetic, blue and purple and cyan
Forest: literally raining acid
TGC: put a season there! or two! why not three!
If you covered yourself with sodium hydroxide (a Ph 14 substance) could you go through forest unscathed? (this is a bad idea for humans but idk for skykids)
i mean, ig its less raining acid and more raining parasites
that's more horrifying
what parasites?
That’s a horrible way to describe darkness rain but you’re not wrong
WHAT HAPPENED HERE
isnt that literally trial of fire but with rng?
This is why you do not simply chibi fall anywhere you want.
||chibi falling's a form of noclip right?||
Bruh
this is just karma for the chibis that decide to chibi fall in front of 2-4 player doors in vault When there’s other people there who need help.
I see this as a win
It’s what the chibis deserve /j
Welp. Guess I'm dead. Goodbye lorechat...
I’m trying to find the time Fruitzie asked what happened if you chibi fall irl and I said you get sent straight to hell
Since I started researching about the Backrooms I figured that's what happened if you tried to chibi fall in real life
Some of them do it when there’s enough people to open the door 💀
i wanna see it lead to an area showing an entire massive abandoned mining operation, something like those awful ugly holes in the center of deserts, but instead it's just ruining and hurting the forest, clearing trees and terrain on a colossal scale
the spirits would be the miners themselves, and in their memories it'll be themed about showing them being overworked by a shallow-ly antagonizing ancestor leader, a priest from teth's temple
giant drills in the center of the operation, and halfway into the missions you'll re-activate a highway of minecarts like we see in abyss, they're coming from prairie, heading into the mine to loading stations, then moving off to the forest temple, carrying pots from prairie and darkstone from the mines
the larger plot would be about shutting off the big drill in the center, which is still creating earthquakes in this area to this day
the problem would be that darkness scorpions, crabs, and hermit spiders fill the tunnels and depths of the mine to the brim with their shrill cries...
not really, the shadow worms are kinda bland when it comes to actively murdering you
They still murder you
do you want them to murder you in a bloodier/light-gorier way?
well deserved
i mean they arent chasing you
they feel more like and are just harmful obstacles rolling around in circles
I died to those worms like a hundred times trying to complete fire trial
Same..
my problem with fire as a moth was that i got lost, also i recommend avoiding the mods with that message lol
My friend is so smol that sometimes they fall through places that are not intended for humans to fall through and we like to say they’re just chibi glitching irl
ppl often see greeter's mask as a parrot but... considering the lil ears, i like to imagine sky griffons
Awwww
martha 2
now draw woolie on top
WE NEED MORE MARTHAS
ive always retorted against those people with eagle but damn am i sure okay with griffin
Lol whenever Vela draws something these days we’re just like, “No you fool why are you drawing anything other than wooly mantas”
everything's cuter with Woolie
tiny beast and big beast…..
FRENS
OH MY GOD
Oh my Megabird*
shout out to big sky birds having those little nubs, best thing ever very very important
Oh my Birds
btw here's what i mean when i say awful ugly holes, i dont rly know how to say it otherwise.
I think this would be the best geographic way for tgc to convey a mining operation into a new map
and also the scorpions from the abyss concept.
they probably weren't planning on making them particularly special in gameplay design, but i was thinking scorpions could be a ranged anti flying mechanic, where if you fly overhead just a bit too low their tail will extend about 20 feet out and snipe you
(after a warning of course)
maybe it could be dodgeable if you spam flap right as they attack, and just be a nuisance, so that they arent krill level of a threat
Another neat variant of this idea: basically what you said, but it also takes place in treasure reef, and we relive the spirit memories of the miners who existed there before everyone abandoned it. One of the quests involves draining out parts of the ocean or even lifting up the island more out of the water so you can explore the area …
…Wait. Now that I think about it. This is a really annoying way to explain away the flooding in abyss, I know, but what if the entire structure floated beforehand similar to the Citadel in valley and that’s why everything is underwater, not because it got flooded? I doubt it’s the case but would be very neat
Like we reinstall diamond nodes to make stuff float?
Pretty much, yeah
When you’re done it rises out of the ocean and all the water inside pours out, leaving the ruins exposed to the air. It doesn’t even have to float, it can be on the top of some massive foundation that crumbled and sent it into the water
A season inside a previous season's seasonal area?
Seasonal inception
I know right, it would be so cool
Broke: the Abyss crew found the Treasure Reef facility long after it had been flooded.
Woke: the Abyss crew took out the power diamonds levitating the facility, causing it to collapse and kill them
Imagining one of them taking out one of the power diamonds with a smug expression on their face, then the entire island falls on top of their head
Boatswain: Ah, 'tis me biggest bumble of all time...
*gets crushed by falling island
Boatswain: And thas why I always have me headache!
I know I shouldn’t be finding this funny, but something about the concept is so cartoonish that it’s killing me to think about
I’m still chuckling
ah yes, world famous "rock falls, everyone dies"
And if someone survived gravity, they got the whole ocean drowning them
This is so funny to me
Oh my god imagine a cutscene with that happening, then the video cuts to it causing a massive tsunami that crashed the forgotten ark. It’s all their fault
Scrimbling as their lightbrains get squeezed by the pressure
thatd be cool but itd suffer from the same syndrome a concept i had for a forest season had had:
you have to make sure that it doesn't break the game between players who have DONE the missions, and players who HAVEN'T
in a concept i had for an assembly 2.0, a flood would ransack the forest brook, the water level would rise about 30 feet and the assembly team would have to evacuate the villagers throughout the realm and create new housings for them
this wouldn't work, because it implies that, just for a few missions, the forest water level would be raised, but only people doing those missions would see this!
imagine being a player who doesnt want to do the missions or a moth seeing someone do the mission swimming in the higher level of water, and that player is floating in mid-air!
you might end up running into similar problems unfortunately with a concept that drains or negates the existence of water in abyss, for playing not doing the mission, it'll show you flying underwater lolol
this rule is why tgc cant just massively transform maps for specific events for seasons
if only tho
Yeah, that's one of the game's biggest limitations
Imagine seeing the Assembly evacuation cutscene
You see everyone helping and then Cadet is obviously screaming
Hmmmm maybe, split servers between those who have done it and people who haven’t?
how about unlocking a new map, with a cutscene in between ? maybe the facility isnt drained but that map is
so like, a copy of abyss but drained?
end cutscene has something make a hole in the wall of the tower, going into the crack triggers a fade to black like in the starlight desert pot and boom, drained area to unlock
There’s
There’s a Sky kid
Falling

thats how i dive, i channel my inner gannet
Megabird misaimed their punting aim
Sorry lmao
Skykid: This is Megabird. *gestures upwards
Skykid: Our Creator.
Skykid: They sent us here with a purpose: to return these squishy dead spirits to the stars.
Skykid: They send us by punting stars onto the Isle of Dawn.
*cut to a star falling onto the Isle of Dawn
Skykid: If your star falls into the sea... which could happen...
*cuts to star falling into the sea near Isle of Dawn
Skykid: ...good luck with that.
*cuts to the ocean being set on fire as screams echo in the background
(the fire only covers up the true horrors)
Lol
You know what I need? Underwater Caves. Underwater trials, even. Trial of Fire, but underwater. I don't care if it makes no sense. MAKE IT HAPPEN
do you think wasteland spirits cope with the very harsh environment by being incredibly silly
cos like...
wasteland spirits: spending their memories hiding, running for their lives or otherwise facing the realm's difficulty
also wasteland spirits:
Y e s
I have a hc that although Crab Walker was trying to lure crabs in with the dance, they actually like crabs and are only trying to lure them in for eating out of desperation
i think about them every day, they aren't extremophiles, they are surviving how they can and that includes being silly to boost morale
i like birds, doesnt mean i wont eat chicken if im given a small portion
i bet thats the same for them
Who wants rum?
Boatswain: What ye doin' 'ere?
Abyss Guide: Mixing orange juice, fish intestines, and airshrooms to make fake rum for the new crew. They won't stop bothering me about it.
Boatswain: Eh? *drinks some of the mix
Boatswain: 'Tis no rum! 'Tis crabswill, dammit!
Abyss Guide: Now you know what I think when I drink that stuff.
Maybe crab walking has become a traditional dance in Enchantment culture?
There are many species of birds
And the birds that get the admiration are different from the birds that get the eating
There's only 2 species of crab in Sky
chicken are admirable birds, you're just a coward
ohhhh okay
my absolute galaxy brain needed help lol
fr, they better actually utilize the new game mechanic
Help I love this quote so much
obviously
Crab Walker: If I could make cairnes for all the crabs we had to eat to try and stay alive, I'd have... 2. Yeah, the crab dance is apparently super ineffective around this area
I Love Them So Much
but trial of fire but underwater would be nightmarish
In vein with the "spirits with silly sides" topic, I like to think that Ash's prophet hints are about the kind of person the prophets are when no one's around. And those hints are what became the basis of my headcanon "The Prophets are actually just normal ancestors who got really weird dreams"
Prophets after Closing yoooooooo
the most realistic approach to more underwater seasons would be shorefront affairs
i still say we should have something inside isle, below the waters behind starfall point
because that's where they come from in the cinematic trailer......

in general any new season/map/ANYthing with water should USE it to allow us to dive towards an objective
my for mining site season, yes, of course there should be underwater caves
and underwater lake would be pretty sick
putting light crystals in my mouth pls pls pls itd be so cool
scorpion boi
aint no one flying through this tunnel, you're gonna have to deep call to make it run away
this is the funniest sky gif i have ever seen
fat fingers drawing on a phone for the win
Ok, but have we considered a conch for a dark creature.
Underwater extra large shells?
These things can one-shot a man.
Horrifying things in beautiful shells. Knew they were too pretty to be true, something had to deduct points off of it.
Gender
Im not buying any. Sorry.
I SAID IM NOT BUYING ANY!!!!!
FINE!! Give me one of each, I'll sell them later once they've risen in pricing.
Oh god it's midnight already
Not, its 7:00 pm on February 32nd. Don't you remember that Pangaea has the same time zone all the way everywhere?
what
Wait, what year is it for you. Because the current year is 35784
What if sky and fortnite had a crossover, and while sky's cosmetics actually looked nice, fortnite had two skins of a moth but the body texture was simply slapped onto the default male and female bodies but the head stayed the same as sky moths.
WHAT
Considering that the Zero Point looks a tiny bit similar to Megabird, maybe? I’m still not sure, but it’ll be incredibly funny to see millions of Fortnite players trying Sky out
Suddenly we've got one singular krill on the map, but it only launches you away instead of stripping away your light. And the mantas were smoked and turned into gliders. Spirits are those wierd ally characters and their just casually holding WEAPONS! IMAGINE THE LIGHT WHISPERER AIMING A SNIPER!!!!!!!!! And then they'll try to reenact Eden in sky, but because they didn't even try to look at the lore it ends up just being a volcano.
this chat scares me
Boo

Do you think that something lore related is going on with light seekers and the days of bloom trees. Other than what's confirmed. Like is this a common ritual? Are they encouraging growth? What are they really doing?
I'll just be heading out for a bit and checking back later.
oops i meant caves not cakes lmao
thats actually a good idea!
I suppose they’re just lightseeking like their name suggests
the bloomtrees are likely light entities anyway
ive stated i think yesterday that since they have no use for it (cos they're dead) they're just showing us skykids they CAN extract light, and how they do it
wasting bloom tree life essence smh
for me, the most significant thing about this is not the activity specifically, but the fact that spirits, not just guides, can appear to us canonically and often, which is a pretty big deal especially for fruity and i, who go insane over the logic and processes of ascension and descension on a monthly basis lolol
all life in the world is
updated!
prolly not gonna go further
a 3 second constant flash of red nearby, then suddenly it's tail whips out
no spotlight on this guy, so you'd have to rely on keeping an eye out for them and sound cues alone in order to know when you'll need to dodge and weave mid flight
well there’s…krills and corrupted crabs
suppose krills are also corrupted light entities
krills are confirmed to be corrupted light creatures, and its becoming more of an agreement that crabs are light creatures too, just unique with a stone shell, similar to the external anatomy understanding we have of skykids
actually, wouldn’t dark fungi be an inherently dark entity?
mhm
do you mean darkness plants?
darkness plants are just a form corrupted light takes, infecting and damaging more light that comes into contact with it, like a virus, a Light cancer
we've recently come to a new conclusion that darkness plants are much more likely to be the corrupted and dead essence of ancestors, which explains why there are not that much ancestors left to relive the memories of, they didnt last long, and their corpses were eaten by the plants
its not canon for sure of course
Headcanons for lightseekers bloom extraction
- That's why they can do glowy emotes (which ancestors rarely do outside their price tree)
- That's the Bloom tree's soul and when Megabird takes them back they're taking the Bloom soul with them
man i only had to read 40 messages but those 40 messages were a trip
do you get sleep
it's 2am wut
GO TO SLEEP ALASDAIR.
Cool
Alasdair. Go to sleep or else all your dreamworld dental problems will become real.
If they would then Alasdair is probs gonna sleep really early from now on

lets keep it dead long enough to warrant Ash showing up
that's how it works?
only one way to find out
Somebody: "Ash lore chat is dead, go answer some questions"
Ash: -throws us crumbs-

Does the bot just show up at random or do people send it here?
some think tis a combination of both
Hi folks, what's up?

Is that really you skybot?
Good morning, idibot!
no, vela has to make a good point about a problem, and then i have to complain about it enough that everyone starts reciprocating it
also ash has to be the person actually working on the current season, and it's someone else, so nah lol
prolly a mod lol
Speaking of ash, has anyone figured this out yet, it’s been years
I don’t understand any more than you
Is the “pretending to be a rock” thing part of the walk cycle?
Krill
Crabs and krills both circle an area, yell at then charge at you while yelling more
Crabs do seem a bit more erratic because they aren't going in patterns like krills, but you will notice that dark crabs go in circles when they walk
Old vid but here, the crab goes in circles until it notices me.
It then hisses, gets ready then tries to tackle me while screeching.
It looks like you kicked it.
🦵denied
I didn't, I swear ! I would never be mean to crabs, they just need personal space...
This one just tripped.
mmm, quick question
we do have names for the elders + the king, right? does anyone have a list? ajshgfhsdf i forgot,, and i kinda need them for something I'm writing
on a similar vein, do the Seasonal Guides have names? I know that the Flight Guide was a student of a elder, but I forget who...
the Elders have names from concept development that's no longer canon but a lot in the community use them:
Isle Elder – Daleth
Prairie Elder – Ayin
Forest Elder – Teth
Valley Elder(s) – Samekh (they share a name)
Wasteland Elder – Tsadi
Vault Elder – Lamed
Flight guide is confirmed to have been the apprentice of Prairie Elder in their character card: #news message
thanks!
What's with this castle? :0
It is the Eden Temple, the home of the now-corrupted Eden Elder.
There's an Eden Elder?!

Oooooo I don't think to try and explore it when I go flying past it!
Is it explorable?
I dont think so. It kind of forces you to fly up yeah?
Idk, I keep forgetting to try
I think there's a reeeally small window where you can get out of the flight path, but I'm not entirely sure.
It used to be easy to explore the upper part of eden, now it’s a lot more restricted
I got almost all the stone
Children??? Except for the ones right at the big angry diamond light thing
I've tried to go onto the castle one time, but I just phased through so I don't think you can explore it unfortunately :(
Aww :(
Now to figure out if this means “them walking in patterns imitates krill” [understandable conclusion] or something to do with their actual gait mimicking an irl animal or something along those lines. They kind of remind me of jumping spiders when they walk, maybe there’s just a spider under that shell? [although I don’t think they have enough legs. They move so fast it’s a struggle to count them, even if you get a good picture one pair is always under their bodies]
yeah i dont really have an opinion on the crab hint cos it's so intentionally vague that it's kinda irrelevant to try
if both krill and crabs move in semi-predictable movement, then perhaps something about corruption makes them want to stick to a strict path or alters how they move. or makes them territorial
krill are true dark creatures (utterly corrupted), so their patrols are more strict. they don't deviate unless hunting something that crossed their path. dark crabs don't seem so much "true" dark creatures but rather irritated light creatures, so their movements are more erratic albeit still set
okay that's making a bit more sense!
it's just still the hint's wording that irritates and confuses me
"how they're created"
tgc be implying lapis was right all along
I was leaning off the "comes to be" part of Ash's statement. how crabs turn dark
Both also tend to go low to the ground at times.
For the Dark Dragon, it is the dark water, or the sandy dunes. For the Crabs, it is soft soil. I dont think there were crabs that went into the dark water, though I may be wrong given there are in the Abyss area.
Either way, most of sky's creatures are based on aquatic creatures, which may imply they are aquatic in nature, or amphibious given they can fly in the sky.
Perhaps the dark creatures were altered to instead seek out the light, they intend to consume it all. They do not give light, they instead steal it.
This is oddly enough similar to how Dark stone works, it can give off light and take in light to become charged. However, when corrupted, they instead take away light and no longer give light. Such as the red rocks in Eden, sure they glow, but their red light is not helping with illuminating the area, it is likely just charged with light coming from the storm.
I wonder if thunder in Sky would give electrical energy, light energy or instead be a destructive form or light energy?
yee after re-reading it for a second there's multiple adverbs to leave it up to interpretation and let us choose huh
i mean, we kinda have to go with 'came to be', right? but it is the weakest wording there, while the others are so aggressively mysterious yet implicative, so they're more attractive, or at least will be more appealing to people
Furthering the thought about lightning in Sky:
What would happen if a skykid were to be struck by lightning?
What would happen if a Dark Dragon were to be struck by lighting?
What would happen if a Manta were to be struck by lighting? (would they transform from light to plasma and become a cosmic manta??)
We do know the boats cannot withstand a powerful strike from a lightning bolt, as the murals in the Forgotten Ark has shown.
It would likely be a deadly shock to ancestors, being they are/were mortal beings that likely would not survive the burning power surging through their bodies.
here's how I interpret it:
"born/made" – the way they were created is how they're always are and always intended to be.
"come to be" – how they are now, which is different than how they were before.
I lean toward "come to be" because we have the existence of two different types of crabs – dark aggressive crabs and passive "light"(?) crabs. so one was made that way, the other was changed.
we've still never seen lightning huh, the storm has down too much over the century(s)
So, in other words.
A skykid is reborn, meaning the are born as skykids. As in they are intended to be the way they are.
A crab has come to be a dark creature due to what happened in the past, they were not always spiteful creatures that would knock off a skykid when given a chance.
skykid struck by lightning would prob go super saiyan /j
We see lighting from the Home island while Storm-locked.
We do see lighting in every realm when looking at the Eden mountain.
And most importantly, we hear (but hardly see, if not at all) thunder in the Eye of Eden.
Seeing that the mural in the Wasteland had thunder symbols, and the Dawn mural had a thundering sound effect when a certain mural is revealed, it means that the storm may have once been so large, it could have reached the furthest realms. If true, it may explain how some of the structures were destroyed. While they may have degraded over time, it is also possible an element such as a storm can destroy buildings over time.
oh yeah i know, we're still confident and sure, it's just odd
either way your explanation above made great and plenty enough sense, and even works well on conjunction with my theories that the darkness controls their minds
Overcharged lol
oh right duh lol i genius
Eyes and brains, Dr. Jam
AoT music starts blasting
yea, a skykid is born a skykid. crabs may have been born crabs, tho we don't know if they were always intended to be hostile or passive. since we know that krill, the only other dark creature present (ignoring the leviathan), are corrupted light creatures, we can imply that hostile crabs, which have darkness flakes on them, were corrupted and came to be dark crabs.
i have 4 eyes and none of that latter thing you mention

yee islander sanct crabs prove they were (more) innocent bois, like you said
heck, even the mural in the ark caves show them living peacefully among ancestors and light creatures, until they touch the water that the ancestors were pouring something into.....
Interesting that you say that about the cargo boat in the bottom right corner with the spilled cargo. The enterence to the abyss area use to be in that location on wasteland before being moved to the social space.
And if you go to geyser, you will notice that the gold boxes in the sand near the polluted water are the same as the ones spilled at the shipwreck.
my headcanon being that darkness personifies negative thoughts/memories, then perhaps they both go in circles just like one would be stuck in a vicious cycle
I did not mnow about this but I shall now try to investigate
I even get the feeling that it’s not supposed to be vague, we’re just THAT GOOD at overthinking things
Who is lapis and what did they think?
The crabs have 4 legs, a quick google search showed this, porcelain crabs and king crabs???
Lapis was a big motivator behind the theory that crabs are synthetic beings, created (likely unintentionally) by the ancestors in the process of producing power diamonds.
see: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
and: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
and lastly:
Its interesting because google also says that crabs with 4 legs are not true crabs. So, does that mean they are not real crabs?
Im tempted to think that maybe the crabs were never real, and maybe the king who we know did something that lead to the destruction, maybe the result of that corrupted the dimond that powers these animated fake crabs.
Maybe the spirits made these on purpose, maybe thats why certain areas have more. Like those containers meantion earlier at the shipwreck. Seen as cargo containers. Maybe they were shipping these fake crabs to different realms of sky to be brought to life via those diamonds or used in some way. Because there are a few nice one are in sanctuary.
The dimonds in sky are blue, but in eden those gems are red. What if they started of blue.
Like in disney Atlantis, you know the story of a lost civilization that was mysteriously destoryed and it was said that the gods became angery. In that film, the king created war machines that mimic real life animals. Funny enough their dimond is also blue and turn red when angered..
Sorry, i kinda went all adhd there...
i mean you can see that Sky krill aren't real krill
I like your thinking.
Crabs in real life are better known to have 6 legs, and 2 claws. In Sky, it is possible that their crabs are either not true crabs by real life standards, or it a stylistic choice seeing a creature with 4 legs is easier to animate than 6, (mind you, the krill are an exception to this rule as their 12 pairs of legs dangle and spasm randomly).
Blue diamonds/darkstone seems to be the natural colour they take one, albeit it can be a darkened version in it raw or inactive state. While a red diamond seems to be a corrupted state they can become, whereas the exact reason is not yet been made clear in the game itself.
There is also a golden/yellow state for power diamonds, whenever they are activated or charges with light. The crabs' eyes are usually blue untill they become aggressive and start glowing red. Perhaps there is a link to these things and you are on to something there.
As for the Atlantis comparison, I am glad to see other people also see that connection.
While the film has a lot of similarities (I'll list them soon), I am not sure if the original material (i.e. the book or original writing) would still apply. Regardless of that fact, Sky does seem to have plenty of Greek Mythological connections, among that from other cultures (namely Asian, Indian, Australian, Islam, Christian, Buddist, etc.).
Aww thanks, i feel so much better. I was worried that I was the only one so saw these connections with mythology and ancient civilizations.
Also, i have an android, so I can't video tape anything but he did meantion something about a walking pattern. Its difficult to analyze in the moment but maybe someone can record a video of the crabs walking and we can review it??
Raider you’ve been typing for quite a while
Here is a list of similarities between the film, Atlantis: The lost Empire, to Sky: Children of the Light:
Dark skinned ancestors with light hair and known to have blue marking, or blue attire.
Lived in a civilisation that once floating in the sky (or above the water).
Relied on a magical crystal/stone that glows blue and is able to cause rocks to float, and/or activate hidden mechanism embedded in stone.
There is an elder that rules over the kingdom.
There is a chosen one among the people that can rise up and defend the kingdom.
The people were able to live in harmony until a calamity occurred and kingdom has fallen into ruin.
The ancestors relied on boats/creatures made of stone as a form of transport.
The stone like creatures were artificial creations of the ancestors and based on aquatic creatures, (note that while Sky does not have these creatures in the game, there is concept art of them that suggest these may have been considered, and possibly would be implemented in the future).
If the crystal is used for evil, or misused, the crystal can corrupt the user and turn them into a creature made of the same material as the crystals, however instead have a distinct red colour.
The ancestors prayed/paid respect/acknowledge/immortalise the dead with shrines made of stone and imbued with crystal energy (especially the elders).
Without the crystal, the ancestors are weakened and may perish (in the film, the Atlanteans had extended life spans due to the life giving energy of the crystals they keep on their person).
There is a leviathan made of stone in the film (in sky, the fan named leviathan may instead play a similar role instead of being a artificial creation).
The world is separated from the human world.
That is about all I can see. If there is anything else, feel free to add your own suggestions.
Also, feel free to use this as part of your own notes, ex. as supporting evidence.
You know I do that, when I have a lot to say. XD
Here is a screenchot of the poster for this film. It provides a good image. Though it clearly does not show everything.
that crabs are artificial, made from the golden container things
iirc the evidence was that there are some instances of crabs being around them, but i may be wrong
NOT THAT FILM
omg that's amazing, just proves further they're stone-shelled!!!
(kinda lol)
It’s notable that the golden recipients are used in mechanisms on the temples. For example I. Forest temple they appear broken from the elevator bridges
There is in Office, though that might not count within the context of Sky itself.
Either the ancestors did not know how to make glass, did not see a need if they can use metal to do the same thing and/or wanted the wind to flow through their building without too much disruption (hence why some windows have metal meshing or shudders).
Though that is an interesting point, regardless.
Thanks!, i also tought that, maybe they don’t feel cold whit the wind, but at the same time, valley has no covered windows and that must suck for such cold, we can see they are able to feel cold by their clothes. Maybe tgc just can’t find a good texture for it?
On the topic of glass
When I went into Valley for the first time
I thought the snow was white sand and the ice was glass
Ice-paned windows?
it’s been an untold amount of time since the kingdom fell. Perhaps they had glass but all of it in buildings broke and shattered due to neglect, the Eden explosion, earthquakes, or other natural disasters
That’s a good idea!, but where are the shards?
Too small to bother with animating or too much on phones GPUs, probably
Imagine if there were a lot of glass shards everywhere and there was a mechanic where we’d lose light if we touched them
That would be more painful then real life glass shards!
Yes
Since lorechat is dead, is there anything I'm missing for this chart?
Wait it's the first anniversary of Wooly Manta already?
OH YES ! [happy reaction to manta]
no its just a wooly manta with a party hat bc chat was dead and i wanted to show a proof i did not dissapear
low words, just
Vela did I miss any contemporaries (in orange)?
Hey vela what do the mantas look like when they’re wet? Are they like cats where they turn from fluffy majestic fur balls into wet rats
i will get you my pic with the era stuff, though i am starting to think most if not all spirits are contemporaries !
perhaps like a deflated pomeranian
What if there’s just a normal manta under there…
That era stuff is based on spirits cameoing in other seasons right?
yep ! every spirit in a single list cameos in the memory of another spirit in the list
Hm. Looks like the charts in place in that department so far. If there are other connection theories/confirmations, let me know!
Psst can you add a purple link between abyss and assembly [due to evidence they take place around the same time?]
Ehe? Where?
what did the manta do to deserve this
Wow
And then you have to comb-dry all the WooWoos
high-velocity dryer time
I really want a wooly manta plushie
seconded
I will try to remember all the evidence I thought of because I am very tired atm, might be forgetting some !
- Same bookshelves on abyss ship and in assembly hideouts. Despite their utility these are surprisingly not super common around the kingdom, and that combined with the fact that wood seems to have been only used for temporary structures or fuel in sky kingdom [you barely see it anywhere, but we do know that the trees in forest were cut down to some extent, plus the clouds everywhere may have made the wood rot faster from moisture] Makes me think these bookshelves are all from around the same time period & wouldn’t stick around in the moisture for long, so had to be a recent one
- Assembly spirits had to do almost everything themselves with no outside help from others, to the extent of growing their own food and building their own houses. This has led to theories that they were either in forest before it got fully explored (is why they’re called scouts) or they’re there after the disaster and trying to survive. Since they are known to have been designed with “parents” from
and base game forests the latter explanation makes more sense
what are they exactly referred to as ? "related" to lightseekers ? "descendants" of lightseekers ?
wasn't there a quip that the Assembly spirits were "descended" or "related to" the Lightseekers?
Ash has confirmed the seasons to be connected, though they never explicitly said that it was a familial connection
They refer to them as their parents in the next two sentences ?
Nnnhhh I want to know who each ones parents are so bad but I have no ideas for evidence… I almost wish they’d shown them interacting, even though it would torpedo my theory of assembly taking place post disaster [since it means everyone else would already be dead]
I remember Ako's "Assembly War" headcanons (Ako isn't in lorechat)
Can you elaborate please?
Like I said Ako isn't in lorechat so I don't know if it would be okay to ask her about it
that's honestly how I've viewed the Assembly spirits' situation – they fled to the Forest and went to create a new home far from the falling civilization, but they died before being able to create their refuge.
Moths calling Mantas woowoos is the most adorable thing
That’s basically my headcanon except instead of war it’s just all the effects of the disaster [corruption everywhere, lots of storms/earthquakes/natural disasters, water source is horribly polluted, and their original home is destroyed]
I have to wonder how they would manage to survive in forest, because it probably ties for wasteland for being the most inhospitable place to stay post disaster. It doesn’t seem that bad until you realize literally all of the water is corrupted, so hopefully you figure out how to purify it or you have to choose between dehydration, becoming corrupted from the inside out, or struggling to find water contained in other beings (like plants)
If the assembly kids weren’t from forest and didn’t know about the corruption, so tried to drink the water not knowing it was polluted, then that explains how they died. This is assuming they need water, but even if they don’t, the constant rain would be a struggle to deal with as well
ooh boi imagine
seeing 7 lost kids with acid-wrecked bodies
uhhhh... lemme just blur that all out... yeah
darkness growing inside their bodies
That is awful. I love it
I mean when you stand in a puddle in forest it’s fine, it’s just when you’re being rained on that it drains your light
Oooh darkness plants...
Oh no they're growing out of a small corpse
Oh no, I just realized the corpse has a yellow bandanna
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
didn't one of us say Scaredy Cadet had rabies cos they didn't want to step in the stream? yea...
So I think the water is only dangerous if you’re submerged in Forest
doesn't rabies affect your ability to DRINK water, not come in contact with it?
i mean i was thinking along the lines of how crabs have what I've deemed "darkness rabies"
Lorechat rn
Bro I wasn’t here for that season what’s going on?
angst
yea i wasn't around for Assembly either
I joined season of flight, it was a pretty lighthearted season
I'm a Little Prince moth, game broke my heart
People in this chat have either been playing this game for over a year or joined in the last few months and there’s no in between
Lorechat demographics?
someone in #sky-memes called Season of the Little Prince moths "old" and I was just... wut
Nothing in demographics is just a coincidence: there is a reason for lack of month-old players
I consider little prince moths like Little children - wait what do you mean that was like 5 months ago… oh no
I've been playing for 7 months. that was a w i l d realization
Bro I joined last time the spin dancer was a traveling spirit
“Old” or “new” isn’t as concrete as “moth” or “veteran”. Moths and veterans have good, agreed-upon definitions
WHAT OH NO ITS BEEN SEVEN MONTHS SINCE TLP ?? I THOUGHT IT HAD BEEN LIKE. THREE
they go on to say the parents had jobs as workers in the hidden forest too tho, could be that their parents are forest spirits but the assembly kids are linked in another way to lightseekers
isn't there both a Lightseeker and an Assembly kid with injured eyes?
Maybe, but injured eyes is not a hereditary trait?
mama mia
It’s a family tradition
I have absolutely zero knowledge, experience, or passion for Lightseekers, so I’m not sure about all this
consider this: lightseeker mentors, assembly kids with forest spirits as parents being their students
OHYES !
Do we have enough Forest spirits for all of them tho? Or are they all single parents? (keep in mind that siblinghoods are left up to us, as said by Ash)
Someone should really make a Sky family tree
context: Amander is one of my Sky OCs
"I'm 7 months old! I'm mature and responsible!"
spirits:
TIME IS FLOWING TOO FAST FOR US LORE BOOMERS
Sky: Time Dilation
i agree these two would have no braincells to share between eachother tho
I have 21 months of Sky under my belt. Time will zoom on to my 2nd anniversary
*reads the last sentence
Good question, Commodore! I'd tell you, but you might do something stupid.
idk i'm just thinking how weird age would be for skykids.
moths are newborns, but they're able to walk and mimic others well. they're not physically babies but are physically quite young. they're also new, they're children, they're little. but they also have huge responsibilities on their hands. trauma can hasten mental development in a devastating manner. some people portray skykids as growing up to be teenagers or young adults or even older, but is that assuming a long time has passed in their universes? they're kids, they're young. do they consider 7 months old mature? do they even have a common consensus of maturity?
Do we even have a common consensus of time, at least in the Sky world?
One of my first Assembly headcanons was
"Technically it's season of RE-assembly, March set most of the first treehouse on fire and now it's up to us to build from its remains"
this is assuming the ancestors drink, but if not, i wonder how else polluted water could be detrimental to the kingdom
Ceasing commodore seems nice, especially with how you write them
Psst last sentence of the post <3
Also maybe the coming of age thing is when they end their first season?
oops lol am blind
or after a certain number of edens
The second time through Eden? I think that one is better because by then I knew what was going on and how to play the game, I was still a moth but I wasn’t a brand new player
after you get jaded by Eden
hmm
who's Nahiho?
Bro the angst of the first time through Eden
another Sky OC, the other protag in my main Skyfic
i am such a sucker for sentient life that exists on a completely different anatomical and lifespan-wise plane
bionicle was the first thing to absolutely instill that in me
oh niiiiice
The trauma of Eden makes the skykids mature fast
something about not feeling human for most of my life piques my interest in nonhuman people.
I've been mostly exploring that with the skykids and Elders. the ancestors are "mostly" human in my ficverse
have you read bionicle books?
no
vol would love them, they're fully mechanical but also because all beings in that universe are, the functions in their body are seen as biological
Ninjago is better /extremelysrs
I can agree
Both, both is good
i agree
There are Two types of spirt
- Punt the Child
- immediate adoption
hullo lorechat, it’s been a few days, just checking in to geek out about the abyss final quest SOOOOON AAAAA
at least you're a fish
you don't have to worry about (BLUR)
It’s-
WHAT???
I’m a tlp moth WHAT no one told me I’ve been playing for SEVEN HECKIN MONTHS WHAT
ITS NOT OUT YET
BUT IT WILL BE SOOOOOON I’M THRILLED
YEAH I KNOW I WAS JUST EXPRESSING MY EXCITEMENT SORRY
Two Days Left… I cannot wait To shoot some krill
ON A MONDAY AWW
I’m scared but also EXCITED
CORN
i predict that on Monday, this channel will be flooded witha plethora pics of the leviathan and many screaming
Yeah and I’m gonna be at school and I’m gonna miss it all 😭😭😭😭
I’ll also arrive later because I wake up Late and will be avoiding this chat so I don’t get spoiled. I am planning to record the quest to help with theories though
AND CORN
corn?
Why corn? Are you going to turn krill into pop corn
maybe
concern
popcorn shrimp
N o
Anything can become popcorn if you try hard enough
it's real /srs
Yeah ik lol
Oh, my, the final Abyss quest is (blur filter)
So much (blur filter) on your screen
So much (blur filter) done on you so so (blur filter)
It's quite the (blur filter) quest, y'know?
Wow, I’m so excited for the abyss quest, with all its— [I am killed immediately by a sniper shot directly to the head.]
"Oh hello, Can-" *gets one-shotted
Yeah oh my Megabird so much [blur filter] happens, you guys won’t believe it, [blur filter] is the biggest lorebomb since “Mantas eat gold”!
I should stop talking about the abyss quest before I accidentally guess something that happens in it
(no beta only speculation)
what if the 5th quest is about dodging cannoneer's attempts to kill us
Lmaoooo you’re gonna guess right thoooo
The 5th quest is edgy as vocaloid
I’m pretty sure Salem might actually be the lore bible /j
Oh no they’re onto me
Sky: Perish, Heathen
And so begins The Great Siege of Salem, in which lorechat tries to shake info out of xem
You think they’re holding off on releasing Cannoneer’s character card cos it has info that’ll be more evident in the 5th quest so they want to wait til after?
Cannoneer is under NDA rn
Canoneer is on the FBI’s watchlist.
Whaaaaaaat you’re right I’d forgotten that hasn’t been released yeettttttt
My beloved arsonist gender envy character
Yes
What do you call someone who's shy but also a jerk?
a jerk
Yes lol
dklsfhsdnsf
i just realized i forgot that passive aggressive is a thing
Oh.. yeah… it is indeed
okay now this is actually really interesting
Cannoneer is the true (blur) of this story
Are we gonna see how Cannonneer died lmao
THIS GAME IS RATED 9+ WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK
They did something stupid
you wanna know what’s crazy? spell “Cannoneer” backwards. that’s right. Leviathan.
Wow
you’re RIGHT, cannoneer was the leviathan ALL ALONG!!!!!
I mean, it’s happened before [
]
Nah they're just fainting
Reenonnac the leviathan
Yeah….. we’ve already watched someone.. “faint”…..
"Fainting" Warrior
im gonna give the big krill a lil kissy on their forehead like i do to my cat
Fainting warrior needs medical attention and then hugs
Apparently moth me knew about this
Maybe fainting warrior got really dark humor and what was meant as a joke to lift the mood from the traumatic memory ended up backfiring horribly with all those worried sky kids.
This is priceless
Oh my Megabird how did you survive in wasteland with three stars-
That was my first thought as well "Oh. He just Died."
I believe cats are specifically built to make you want to give them a little forehead kiss
as someone who just got done brushing their grandma's cat (an uncle cat daresay) i can confirm this
i just want to kith kith his little head but hes so small and old but also chomk
I don't actually know, I recall Faint to be my first Wasteland spirit (yes, before the Refugee) so it wasn't krill
the reason why cannoneer's mask is like that is because they tried to fistfight a krill and barely survived
in the 5th abyss quest we join cannoneer in fistfighting all the krill we unleashed
actually
if cannoneer decided to shoot shoot instead of fistfight
how much damage would they even do
do krill have weakspots??
set the ocean on fire
Magic then ig
Even in the emote icon the eyes are X
True-
My current theory is that the wasteland spears were used to take down krill, so they presumably have weak spots [maybe in between scales ?] but the spears might succeed in bringing them down just due to the sheer amount of added weight
or trademark moth stupidity
They just went “Oh megabird why is there a KID HERE” and tried to play it off as “I fainted don’t worry little child” even though in the cutscene while they might not have straight up died they passed out from presumed injuries and blood loss
I assume that the ancestors were flesh and blood but not human because then I get to imagine what the food was like
awww
the ancestor changed their own memories for us
:(
it feels like TGC is leaning into the "ancestors were mostly human" even though there's some who would like to believe otherwise
I think of it as once the memory is over they try and play it off by changing the emote
or it's how a new moth interprets death since they barely got a grasp of what death is at that point in their first journey
True
I mean I didn’t know my sky kid could “die” until I was in Eden giving out my winged light then becoming a statue
So it makes sense that a moth wouldn’t know what death is, they just see that the spirits are Past and they are Now, but don’t realize that the gap in time meant that the spirits must have died
Maybe that’s part of why the first Eden run would hit them so hard, they suddenly realize “oh. That’s what happened to everyone”
Honestly the first eden run hits EVERYONE hard
Lol that too
Currently scribbling down everything I can for a fic about a season of dragons. Anyone have anything they’d like me to add?
it's your fic, you do what you want
I don’t think I have anything to add, but even though I barely know anything about your idea, I am already invested just because it includes dragons
Make the sky kid breathe fire, plausible because they have candles so all you need to do is make a whole lot of flame at once
Are you planning on making a connection to the days of fortune dragon or do different dragons entirely?
It’s really just me coming up with an entire season based on cozy’s chats earlier today, and then making a story out of that from what I put together.
so far, there are Elder spirits (I call them precursors for short) who need help locating this one spirit which ran away for unknown reasons to the Skid/player. As we go through the season, you find out more about the nature of Krill, how the elders went about them, how the elders which followed the first elders completely forgot the nature of said dragons and hurt themselves and the dragons during their “Industrialization”, etc etc
Krill Whisperer?
I’m half asleep so it may not all make sense rn but I’ll clean it up later. Pretty much, you are searching for a precursor elder which had a hard time dealing with understanding the different natures of the Dark Dragons, tried to treat them like normal creatures, got hurt, became super scared, and became VERY angry at the dark dragons for just doing what dark dragons do.
From the name, I had a feeling krill would be involved
The spirits I have include the “Worried Hunter” who has the “search” emote, and the “Fearless Dancer” who has a “Dragon Dance” emote which is similar to the crab dance emote
The whole message of said season I supposed to be, if we aren’t careful, industry can hurt animals, aaand we can’t forget the nature of animals despite attempts at domestication (think of gators, we see them in zoos, see a dude sit on them and feed them and such, doesn’t mean we should because omg dangerous)
It makes more sense if I write it on paper
at the end, the Runaway spirit meets you with a dying dark dragon at Eden, and you have to sacrifice your WL to guide the dragon toward a new and better life (rebirth). Dark dragons can’t fight their nature in this season and you have to use their nature for their benefit (the spirits here are using Camouflage of sorts to stay somewhat safe and hide their light) even if it hurts you
So tadaaa that’s about it. I’m writing the dragons as Krill for now because I’m creatively limited lol
I really like the way this concept paints krill as not monsters you have to fight, but animals guided by mostly instinct - the conflict being that their nature was only made harmful to ancestors via corruption so they seem almost like monsters
Sorry if that doesn’t make a ton of sense, am also half asleep, I just love the concept in general
Haha yup that’s what I was going for. Instinct and nature shouldn’t be fought against if it’s just for our benefit, which is what this season kinda points out. Like yeah, they’re scary, but they’re just doing what they do
Also, “glare” emote hurrhur
Ok imma sleep now, Gn and thank you for your time and input

Sleep well!! Am super excited to see the finished concept
Who would win
A giant elder killing machine that may be the reason the area is underwater now
Or
A queer menace
Sorry, I can’t tell which spirit you’re talking about vela, could be any one of them /j
Meme without the e?
I THINK it’s cannoneer and, if I am right, they could beat all the abyss krill singlehandedly. Maybe that’s what in the final quest ?
Soup
Hmmmn , krill soup… tasty
And then Cannoneer burns it in front of everyone
Only for Angler to serve them the worst part
Mem?
I imagine cannoneer as either being an awful cook because for some reason they prefer burned tasting food. No one else can understand why
They just can’t help but burn everything they touch
They like their toast charred
How to summon me:
Mention either the valley elders or Mem
Someone watched them do it and banned them from the kitchen
Oh heyguess what angst fic I’m editing right now instead of doing my homework
Hey Anzu quick question. Can you give mem a cat named mlem? Ty
p. E r ha ps
I like to think they are the stove of the team
I need to be in that server with that bot
Fun Fact: the reason the abyss boat is made out of stone is because the cannoneer somehow managed to burn down the former wooden ship, despite it being in water at the time
So is there like a page/link that tells the lore of sky? Like where the dark came from and why? And about the krill and stuff? And whatever is up with eden
That’s a tupper ||operated by yours truly||
Sure I’ll dm the link to you and Salem
There’s a lore moth doc somewhere that gets the basics of things
Cannoneer committing arson for 6 hours straight when someone wants to do a slow roast so they can cook it
Cannoneer is the type of person to think that if you normally cook something for 20 minutes at 300 degrees, you can cook it faster and get the same result by cooking it at 1200 degrees for 5 minutes
I have a comic about Cannoneer cooking
Cannoneer cooks like Undyne
Cannoneer has definitely attempted to cook an egg on a manta before
Cannoneer discovered the cooking eggs on a sidewalk on a really hot day thing
Do you think they would cook using us
They gather like 10 sky kids ‘alright everyone candles together—you! Get the chibi a stool!’ And then they make krill fried rice using the candle flames
Oh, I meant like… putting us in the soup pot and letting our inner light cook things. This works too
Before killing us or after killing us?
I mean if they killed us they would be eating statue
Dead skykids are without light so
Neither, if you kill us our inner light goes out so you can’t cook with it [ONLY reason we are still alive]
They teach them the level 4 cackling emote and have them all do it at once to flash roast a crab
To those vulnerable to flashing animated emoji: Did you know you can deactivate animated emoji? ("Discord App Settings" ⚙️ → "Accessibility" → "Play animated emoji") Hopefully this can be a protective measure for you
Thanks…?
They Finish and it falls apart into a pile of ashes
how did we get from cadet to canoneer
Idk something about cannoneer fist fighting a krill
Both start with Cs Next question
Lorechat loves Cannoneer, it’s on the bingo card
Are wooly mantas on there
We got from Cadet to the spirit Cadet would get along with the least
I love all the abyss spirits equally ❤️ cackling cannoneer, anxious angler and [glances at blurred writing on hand] bumblebee boatsauce /j
And ceasing commodore
Bumblesmee boatsmee
Thank you for correcting me on their name !
Bumpling Botswana
Siggonsiyo
The Name That Yields Zero Results When Searched On Google
That’s their surname
Cos I made it up for the fic
I know but that’s still an achievement by all means
My favorite is ceasing commodore honestly
A friend of mine worships them
Um do you have more sky comics?
Friendly Grandpa energy, soft cape that I’ll be able to get tomorrow
Just one
These are great, you should make one for every spirit
That’s a lot of spirits
I have a lot of scenarios that can become comics but the next one doesn’t have spirits unfortunately
Just make what you wanna make
Bumbling Buccaneer's coat and hat are extremely popular tho. Apparently the coat is a new 'handsome player' item
I can see why. Look at my dapper skid
predictably so
The hat is popular among chibis and anyone who likes the scouts aesthetic
I just use it for my skid who totally doesn’t kin a certain blue person with questionable morals.
Bloo?
extremely dapper, perhaps even swag
Papa smurf ?
How dare you accuse Papa Smurf of having questionable morals!
no
its vriska
Admiring Actor?
Vriska is grey tho
Is that Homestuck?
JJAHAHAHJAJ no
Rhythm Guide? Mem? Some spirit you will never ascend?
well yeah but she wears a blue jacket thingyanyways
Vriska is mostly grey, it's just her blood that's blue
It's not Holt Hyde
vela i love your new icon
none of you will ever know
crualty
is it "Alia"?
who is alia?? ali a????????
Thanks
at least tell us if they're anime, viddy game, or other media type
one of the best hairs in the game bc of that hat
viddy game. i will say no more
We need a long hair version too
I was broke after sword pants and only could buy the cape
oh god F
Hair evolution by @/Windwalker#5669
Oh damn that looks like a Digimon evolution line
One of the worst mechanics in the game. You save for a nice thing but it's locked behind something spensive so you can't afford it even if you could afford the price outright. Happened to me with the chibi mask when I wanted the dress. I've come to appreciate the mask more now that I've realized I can be chibi moth lol
I dislike how this is accurate for both my skykids
wdym lmao
If you like long hair, the evolution is tearful light miner, to levitating adept, to possibly Kizuna AI
Kizuna used too much hair spray
Not the tearful lightminer to levitating adept hair, those are my first two hairs in that order 😂
Same Vela. Same.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the pink streaks in the Kizuna hair, but they look great with the flower crown. Once I get the Sakura cape, it'll be a great days of bloom look. I like the bangs and how thing it is compared to how poofy (and janky) the levitating adept can end up looking, but like, pink streaks can clash with my clothes
hhhhh maybe I'll get it at the very last day lol idk
It's fun to add the bow to my chibi moth look for Chibi Moth Deluxe. I ended up getting use out of every item but the cape.
Levitating adept hair is so good, it just clips all the time.
Speaking of, did adept steal the hair of other vault spirits, they're almost all bald
Adept stole their weaves and combined them to make a megaweave
Places of knowledge and Academia are often filled with old dudes who have either went grey or lost all their hair
as someone in academia, i can see why
HELP
are you one of them
Alasdair actually over 90-years-old. More news at 11
I saw some ppl interpret the spirits as being hooded like the elder
Is that a hood? It's white when our sky kids get it, so I just thought it was incredibly complex hair
I have been losing hair in the last two years due to stress but I still have an impressive 'fro
YOU HAVE AN AFRO IRL?!
WooWoo: ?!mrwo?!
This doesn't surprise me actually. I've noticed people with afros irl love to have them in games too
why do you think i criticize Sky's afro physics? I got the experience
what's wrong with sky's afro p6
it's like they designed the afro like a hollow hackey sack instead of many multiple strands of hair
[Discord didn't load my message in time]
I think if they designed it like that the game would keel over and die before exploding
Edit: I just realized the Levitating Adept hair essentially levitates
To Alasdair's credit, a lot of stuff still clips inside the afro.
Apparently Kizuna's hair doesn't have boing boing
i totally wasn't about to send a selfie in a public discord with 400k people no no no
it's 1am
It's ok you give off epic afro vibes, king
Kizuna hair does not go boing boing.
And while stuff does clip inside the Afro, lots of other things also clip (our entire child clips into quest spirits when they offer hugs, among other areas) so I don't really see it as an afro issue because it spans the whole game.
Uhhhh... but the spirits kinda make sense to clip through tho...
Our kids clip into each other as well, I will not yeild just because spirits are spirits. But hair styles really need to account for hats I swear to megabird
TGC could change the flight bird's placement depending on hairstyles, I don't see why they can't fix other hats like the flower crown.
But I saw these chibis in buccaneer's hat who were using the two different afro puff hairs, and naturally they poked out of the hat and it was so cute I wanted to cry
the two poofball ponytails?
I guess that's a gameplay thing
Yeah those. I've heard they were called afro puffs but -shrug-
*recalls that one incident about afro puffs
i could wear the flower crown well with the dreadlocks and the ponytails but not the afro, I was actually looking forward to that but I can't say I wasn't surprised.
do i want to know
let's just say it's NOT in Sky
If it's the animal crossing drama, let's not.
Ah yes, I know that controversy
Yeah, let's not
Anyway I like the fanart of braid chains people draw the abyss crew doing, I bet they do eachothers braids like this
i imagined Cannoneer braiding a bunch of skykids' hair in their style
Secret song: "Braid Shanty"
I like to imagine that when you buy hair from spirits, they literally sit down with your kid and do their hair to teach them how it's done.
First, you honk so hard you rapunzel your hair out.
Second, they get a pair of scissors and teach you how it's done.
Cannoneer doing our hair...? 😳
I thought their hair was made of light, so lengthening it wasn't necessarily a problem, compared to shaping it. Once an ancestor teaches them how it goes, it's way easier for them.
Cannoneer: Alright, ye done with ye base?
Skykid with rapunzel-long hair: Honk
Cannoneer: Alrighty. *burns half their hair off
JAJSHSHHDHSHAHHSH
It becomes funny when you imagine the huge elders having to do it (tho there is an adorable comic of a sky baby messing up and forest mama has to fix it)
Ayin: Oh, you want my hair?
Skykid with rapunzel-long hair: Honk
Ayin: Hehe, okay. *turns most of their hair into butterflies
Yea, it’s light and if you’re a being of light that can manipulate light, it can be easy to shape and resize your hair. But it’s a question of knowing how to get from point A to point B.
I imagine it gets easier overtime where skids can eventually just will their hair a certain way, but the first times they’re trying a hairstyle they have to shape their hair manually and really think about it
Which is why the ancestor doing it would be necessary. Once the sky kid knows how the hair feels, poof, they golden
Cant imagine how the valley elders do your hair
Imagine if a skykid tries to cut their own hair with Eden rock scissors and they end up with... unfortunate bangs
Giggling
Wdym those bangs are kinda nice looking
Maybe with the smaller elders, like Vault (assuming it's not a hood) and Valley, but their fingers are so big... Maybe they use their elder wisdom to talk your kid thru the process. If you've completed the whole constellation, your kid probably has some hair experience
They’d have to change their hair texture too for different styles
with their cricket sticks
@lofty void I doubt it would look too good irl lolol. Literally one of the first things this character does is mess up their bangs. And they're embarassed about it for a few seconds. The real kicker is that they're a magical girl and no, the transformation doesn't make their bangs better
IJWHSHDHHSJAJANXJSJAHHS 💀💀💀 NO O OO O O O
There was a cute idea somewhere that the opposite Valley elder is the one to fix your hair to the style you want
oh hey Valley Elder(s) doing their hair in the angst fic
I have a hc that if skykids have hair-growth rituals, they cut it by normal means (or Eden rocks, though that might be risky) and they grow it by running their mitts through it
Do you think all sky kid cosmetics are projections, or does somebody actually make u clothes?
Most go with the former
The latter would be cute but incredibly inconvenient in various situations
Honestly, if the clothes aren't projections, it'd make sense we have to pay for them. Either the spirit has to make them for you, or they have to tell you where they bought it
I have a joke that you pay for the copyright so that you can replicate it
who made this?
me
LMAO
WHAT
I FOLLOW YOU ON IG
SBKD FKBRLBRL
bru it evem literally says fruity on the account i am astronomic brain
at this point i prolly follow every single artist in this chat and wouldnt even know, just like posts when they shows up on my feed smh
see the thing is, these crabs are tiny, and so are their bell shells, so their bells can't be the big ones from forest and prairie
but where else have we seen bells like these?
so far I've only found one example...
Hoho
I'd like to know how they were made
I'd like to turn the homebell into a crab
Crabs are a lot more likeable
i like my "true dark creature" concept of them being abyssal Light anomalies from deep within the the lowest points of the ocean where Light is suffocated in the darkness to form beasts like leviathans and the bell spiders, but unfortunately it was just a means to an end for another theory, and doesnt really have evidence at all
if we yeet the home bell into the abyss, will it turn into a crab?
it's more leaning on the fact that
- the ocean in isle rose so
- there used to be much more land in isle just behind where the beginning area is, with forests and open deltas and probably more civilization
What happened to eden
A lot
a few things
the king screwed up
it’s what sky historians collectively refer to as the sky kingdoms first Epic Fail
Hi Lore chat, this is a statue that a player encounters right after death, on the ascent to Orbit.
It has a tall hat like a Vault scholar, face like a Skykid's, a big sword type thing that hangs vertical from the back, a shield that looks like a wheel, and a power diamond in their hands.
Their robes look like an Elder's robes.
Could this be the Eden Elder? The King?
There is evidence to support that.
It is holding a diamond and has a halo behind them.
That js what the stone decoration behind them is.
There is not other mural or statues that depicts this type of glowing, other than that of the King/Prince.
The theory that the king is just a sky kid on stilts inside a trench coat lives on
KING UNMASKED (NOT CLICKBAIT)
imagine the sky kid from ushering stargazer's memory
now imagine this
I landed on their head and didn't see anything like a halo, though?
…I landed on the King's head
Orbit stole King's mask /j
I mean, if it was built to, Orbit stealing the King statues' masks would be symbolically accurate actually dnsdahg
Its possible
did a message get deleted about a krill whisperer?
how big are krill
An exact measurement?
Not sure. Someone here might be able to measure a krill in some way?
i remember seeing somewhere that krill are __ sky kids long
though i don't remember the number but we have the height of skids!
this, perhaps?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
thank ya kindly
A "squared" boat in new Sanctuary Trench and it is even huge!!
ohogh chonky
What is dis
A thing that supposedly helps with server merges. Don't ask how.
A buddy statue (not its official name)
It just appeared one day after an update.
It appeared after an update and I find it oddly calming
@nimble ingot @compact shale well that’s weird
I saw it and thought it might be for a furniture space or whatever you call it, but it didn’t activate so
It is awfully pretty!
It’s a moth I suppose! Wings outstretched
Looks like a little Angel tho
Maybe it was made by someone who knew of our coming
(But they forgot to install it until much later lol)/jk
It could be! I don’t know if there are any such statues anywhere else in Sky (yet), so it certainly is a little oddity
Yeah
Who are you, small buddy?
Too cute—gonna call it Small Buddy now
I want it to be my friend, it’s so cute
If it appeared after an update... Maybe a spirit put it there?
Fuel for my 'spirits continue to have a society' theory (flimsy, wet twig fuel)
Yeah
I mean
I WISH we could do society with spirits
But that's not our purpose
If our job is to help them in the rebirth process it could be.
I have more to my theory gimme a sec to write it
I've mentioned before, but with some spirits, like Skater and the Abyss crew, we don't actually seem to be reliving memories. They're interacting with us and we're apart of and contributing to whatever they're doing.
So the basic idea is: The ancestors aren't dead dead. Whatever the great disaster did, it essentially tossed them into a sky kid style rebirth cycle. They exist in this new form, and they're called spirits, but they ascend and are reborn to keep doing their thing just like the kids.
Except they're absolute garbage at ascension. Completely terrible. The sky kids' job is to essentially use their light and act as adorable ferrymen. You help a spirit get ready to ascend (in game as reliving memories or otherwise), and then you take them up to orbit with you, where you and the spirits are reborn. The spirits continue on doing whatever they do until they're ready to ascend again.
Things like reliving the same memories again and again, or empty stadium seats at the race despite lots of applause? All for gameplay and technical convenience.
Knowing my luck someone is going to have an entire document on why that's utter nonsense
I'd rather y'all tell me it sounds like nonsense then just go radio silent and have me murder the chat
Seems like the ancestors are dead dead
Dead dead is different from just dead
By all means go on your line of thinking tho, it's interesting.
There just isn't a word for their unique state of being because obviously we can't have spirits like them irl, if they exist at all. The concept of a spirit irl and what sky does are disconnected from each other
But besides young skater and the abyss crew, there are more examples of spirits existing as more than just memories to be relived. The light seekers look after the trees, granny feeds us (and we can hug both, it's not necessarily just a memory!), the traveling spirits keep coming to visit us. Spirits from previous seasons can come back for holidays. It's all evidence for the spirits not just being 'ascend and never come back', clearly they're still apart of the not orbit world somehow
If you hear spirit irl you think something dead that can't interact with the living, but the world of sky has death and rebirth as a natural part of things. So I don't think 'dead' in this specific instance applies like it normally does
That's about all I have off the top of my head for now tho. My kid has been sitting in the frozen water trial tundra in a sleeveless dress for the past several minutes, I should probably collect the winged light
That’s actually really interesting, Ennarcia
Everyone else's theories tend to be so... angsty by nature, and I've already been ridiculously wrong in how I've viewed things in the game before, so I get self conscious about my theories
Yeah that’s understandable, you bring up some good points here though, with tons of examples of spirits “sticking around.”
My oc Finch was raised by Butterfly and Sneaky so it would be really great for that if your theory was true lol. It would make their backstory actually plausible.
My serious theories come from a place of logic, I swear, but I'm also new, so I don't know if the Devs revealed something in the past to contradict me or somebody discovered some mural or secret by like, chibi falling thru wasteland elder's head when I don't mess with glitches yet.
I'm fine with not being right, the lore is vague, but being so thoroughly wrong feels like crap
I like to think the ancestors theoretically could ascend and never come back, but most don't want us to be alone so they come back down to hang out :]
I get that. Sometimes I have the urge to theorize, but I’m also really new to lorechat and I feel like there’s too much I don’t know so I’m too scared of sounding stupid to make any theories
Exactly! You think you're on to something but then a lore chat vet comes in here with something that invalidates the whole book u just wrote and u know they're not being mean but you also feel like the biggest idiot alive
It's a mortifying risk to take
You'll find your marks over time, no need to stress about sounding dumb.
Lore-chasing kinda irks me because it's kind of agressive in finding the absolute truth in a game meant to be vague and pretty surreal tbh... As intimidating as paragraphs from older lore nerds are, they aren't devoid of bias or mistakes. You just can't see them yet.
I think newcomers are fun because they haven't read the (outdated) lore docs yet, so they tend to have some unique ideas !
Honestly, I'm willing to discuss things that are legitimately false if it means finding a thread to something else interesting. (But the second I'm even remotely confident about something it's just like don't even look at me I don't want to know)
The pins are a good source of info not a lot of people check too. I am guilty of that, but in my defense, I am trying to balance my hobbies rn
Arg Lore chat isn't about being right but I don't know how to discuss it in terms beyond 'true or false'. Like obviously in cases like Eden there is a storm there and claiming nothing ever went down there is hot nonsense, but for the vague stuff it's just interesting to theorize at all even if we don't have concrete stuff.
You will find people here have quite different views once you recognize names.
My lack of vocab is frustrating. I can't convey what I want to convey
Like, lore chat regulars aren't a monolith, lots of good ideas but we seldom agree on everything. You're gonna be fine, I like reading what you have to say even if I don't always answer because I'm starting to lurk more and more lol
Yeah, I get that. I also get that when someone says 'the veterans' it can give off this vibe of like 'the betters', even when that's not really what's being said. It's just frustrating to work hard on something and it turns out it's the one time sky decided to not be vague with their lore and you are just super wrong.
Veterans are just here for longer and thus lived through changes or just have more experience, there's indeed a bit of prestige to, say, having seen the lost stream (stellify please interact) but otherwise vets aren't that special.
I’ve noticed that the word “veteran” gives off a feeling of eliteness, both in Sky lore and the Sky community on general
Because they got all the pretty cosmetics lol
But in general a 'veteran' in any setting implies experience, which is 'elite' in a lot of aspects of human culture, not just sky
Like, someone with the experience to know what they're doing can be 'trusted' to keep doing it. Naturally, the world isn't that black and white, but the connotations are certainly there
Plus most players that people recognize as vets ingame are people that could afford a pass to get the ults.
I know an enchantment vet that doesn't have any old ult, so...
On lore chat, vets are just people that have been here for a good amount of time, you can see Kitsuu on screenshots when the blue Eden oob was posted here for example.
[Sorry, thought they left the server but they are actually still around.]
I see lore as a ‘hey wouldn’t this be cool/sad/interesting’
Are there any links or videos where I could see about sky lore? I got interested but I dunno where to start
and given how vague this game is, it kinda is how it be. But in specific cases like, 'nothing bad ever happened in eden, there is no storm' it stops being lore and becomes an au
Check the pins in this chat !
Okay, thank you
A Sky Lore vet may appear they have things figured out but they don’t cos nothing is tangible
We are all chickens with our heads cut off, but sky lore vets have learned how to walk in a straight line. They're still headless chickens tho
You just assimilate what we know so far so your theories have more bases to stand on, but really, with a game that vague, anything is possible. All it takes is a season with a few retcons to flip the theories we have on their head
Ah retcons. Truly delicious
Something something skykids breathing
Prophecy
Was Prophecy retconned or did y'all just guess incorrectly about info that hadn't been revealed yet?
The arrival of the season was with a few changes, for example, Ushering Stargazer (previously Ushering Migrant) and Pointing Candlemaker (previously Pointing Pilgrim) had their memories completely changed.
You got any vids of the old ones?
Likely old vids on youtube, I came here the day Sky dropped on switch so I don't have any on me right now.
Fair, it was more 'do you know where to look' anyway
Give me a minute
I think Nastymold has some.
I thought Nastymold would be a dude when I saw their name. That was whiplash

Pointing Pilgrim at 1:37
Ushering Migrant at 2:48
woohoo I get to be lazy!
im late to this chat but while i occasionally pop in with input i'm mostly a lurker absorbing what you people say and compiling my own headcanons in the background
looks at Abyss
what did abyss retcon
Breathing 💀
what's the working theory on that right now anyway
From my anatomy doc (WIP)
Lmaooo, I don't really think much about anatomy.
Abyss lets us explore an old factory, and shows the ancestors themselves had their own ruins to explore. I like the idea of spirits surviving after the apocalypse but dying out before the first player sky kid landed here.
This is still a WIP cos this is opinionated
Dang, the pointer and usherer really just acted as 'kid get your butt to the temple aready' tutorials huh?
ooh i like this theory
Pointing Candlemaker being a fatherly figure to new moths is one of my fave headcanons.
They even go through the trouble of meeting you in the prairie social area to make sure you safely made it
Yea, no wonder they got retconned, there isn’t much substance to their memories
they do? Or is that more headcanon? I wasn't paying attention when I first started the game. Everything was shiny
They do ! It's the tutorial to teach you how spirit trees work !
I haven’t relived the Isle spirits in a while so maybe I should check those out
Oh that was the same guy?
that's really interesting! If Skykids can draw light from heat, they can also lose light from the cold (as in, underwater and Forest rain)
the water trial
Interestingly enough, Valley, the water trial not in water, and the air trial don't seem to bother your kid despite the obvious snow. Perhaps it's different with wind?
I feel like the Trials are more like metaphysical locations, so the hazards don't actually affect your kid, they're there as means to test your virtue (In Water Trial, it's Patience)
the true trial of patience is fire
I’ve written about the Water Trial water being too “cold” hence why it de-lights skids: #lore-discussion-spoilers message

Lore vet status is when you’re able to use yourself as a reference /j
Lore vet privileges
Winged light has been described as like, the after thoughts of sky children when they all gathered at the same place enough times right? A large part of the game is being kind and helping others, and, while I know it's concept, light once stood for community and togetherness. I wonder if that's why winged light protects us. It's the lingering kindness of sky children given shape/power
It could also explain why it helps us fly, since 'they're helping us reach new heights'
Power of friendship
Yeah but legit
My thoughts on this topic because I am emotional ^^^
I hope we just made u cry and something bad ain't happening to u irl
nothing is certain, and everything we know 'for sure' could change at a whim
and i love that
it's scary
it's frustrating
and it's so fun for me
No I'm just emotional over my headcanon, Sky is a beautiful game.
When you're new it feels kinda like your teacher made you get up to read a book report you haven't studied for properly (and the book report is on a single book from 1600 BC that only has one copy in existence) and yet all of your classmates know this and u don't
Me in class discussing a reading I hadn’t read for the umpteenth time
yeah, to me all themes of ascension and becoming free again seem to be emotional and internal battles of will to fly away, i see that in the spirits, the statues, and i see that in in the skykids
