now why is the slowmode increased again
This is no laughing matter—
It's so spiky. Thank you!
☠️
I take back what I said.
/wait who did that, isnt dicussing about data mining against the rules-
its from when it was relevant to a theory, im aware that talking about datamined content is a no no. but i believe its also part of the Orbit Prince theory's root- or atleast its where the idea of the orbit shiny boi as prince/king was further inspired. also it wasnt me who did the digging, it was from an inquiry when i was still wasnt aware that mentioning datamined content is not recommended
/ohhhh okay
What’s the topic
Idk
new topic/question.
What are cosmic mantas?
Are they the spirit version of mantas, or a memory projection of them?
Likely a projection, going by their connection to memory cubes and the fleshed out vault constellation at the end of Vault
so, a memory cube can project creatures remotely?
And are they that powerful to project up to 10 mantas at once?
I am referring to the manta spiral at the top, to the throne.
It is not like there is a cube for each manta, right?
No, but there is the big diamond with the elevator, which has been collecting the light from each memory cube as you ascend
oh.
Would that diamond be responsible with projecting the murals in the all elders cut scene? It does project constellations, I was not sure if the diamond was making the murals or the vault elder.
I think the one in the all-elders cutscene was the one we put our light inside during Vault's solo cutscene, given how the two scenes progress
chicken nuggets
Delicious, next question
wat da dog doing
His best
ok
honestly, I know the tiny diamond is important, I dont know what it is for.
We know the forest elder makes them, and it runs on flame power (which we game to them, and the elders used that to regain their own powers). We know the diamonds can power doors, though is a one use ability when they are charged with light.
The big diamond in the elevator needs a lot of power. I am including the towers even if they are not powering the diamond directly.
On the first floor, it needs 8 sources (4 of them are towers, and 4 more are memory cubes), then it needs another 8 (4 towers and 4 memory cubes), then on the third floor it needs 15 (3 towers on floating platforms, and 12 memory cubes around the base), Then on the fourth level it needs 4 (that are on the backs of cosmic mantas, and then another 4 from the elder cosmic manta (I thought it was a whale because of its sound). So in total, it needs 26 memory cubes and 11 towers to summon the cubes (even if they dont directly power the diamond, I think they stabilise the power being supplied).
All that aside, we get to see how the diamonds are used and how much power they need. The other question I have is how would they become corrupted?
One can assume they can be overpowered, which is unlikely from skykids since they have a small output, it had to be from an elder or even a deity.
Could even have been the King themself
They seem to have been the one to turn it on in the first place, if the Prophecy murals are anything to go by
Could be that they could also overload it for some reason
/yk the murals depict vault having heck loads of cubes
there are 6 elements, based on the murals form enchantment.
4 of them are seen in prophecy.
What if each elder specialised in one or more elements?
Would the eden elder have power over 4 elements, assuming they were the one to have completed the trails, and possibly overpowered a diamond.
Or an even wilder theory, tried to force megabird to power a giant diamond??
/but what if the memo cubes is a separate way of making power diamonds?
like, you have eletricity right? but you can use it to either make a weapon or run a pc
/what would the leftover 2 elements be then?
That last idea could have led to the Eden collapse. If magabird was forced to do something like that then if could have overloaded and blown up, making the storm
wat if ||we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, i could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now?||
/ah yes, the magabird
It was purple and yellow right?
Would explain the similarities between Vault and Forest's masks, since they're supposed to be related in some way, if memory cubes are themselves an iteration of power diamond
Main issue with the 6 elements thing is that the symbols for each colored light don't quite correspond to the ones for the Prophecy elements
Not to mention the Prophecy murals show that of the Elders, Isle and Vault didn't get anything from the King when they completed the trials
enchantment orbs and prophecy elements are completely different from each other
/and the enchantment people got their hands on orbs using the lightseeker people
i feel red and purple were more connected to civilisation than the other four which seemed to be closer to the prophecy elements
The masks are supposed to show things of importance to the elders, so the dimonds on the masks shows their importance
The purple light seems to be connected to psychic power, given its color is shared with the level 2 and 4 versions of telekinesis, as well as the purple sparkles that come off mantas that can carry you
i doubt theyre related in anyway other than they have colors
there are 6 elements: red, purple, orange, blue, cyan and green
While the is a yellow light, it came from the season of the, iirc.
Aside from the elements from the prophecy season (red, blue, green and cyan), there is purple and orange (the diamond and flame respectively).
theres nowhere that depicts prophecy elements as orbs either
prophecy elements looked more like neon asterisks tbh
They looked a lot like the falling stars shown in the murals n stuff, just colored and apparently located in various parts of the world
/i was thinking some enchantment people thought lightseekers werent fashionable and then they dyed the orbs
the totem in the prophecy cave has symbols, though they looked crude.
The passage way to the cave showed different areas.
credit to ThatSkyMoth for the tour: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm1egr7xXBY&list=TLPQMzEwNzIwMjH_h7Iad29LLw&index=2
blue - shows a forest that leads to a lake (possibly forest, or daylight prairie
Green - shows a series of hills (possibly prairie)
cyan - Floating islands (likely the bird nest or sanctuary islands in prairie)
Red - Shows a burning forest (possibly hidden forest).
What makes these findings hard to link up to season of enchantment's elements for me, is how the elements dont seem to line up.
Red was in wasteland, blue in valley of triumph, cyan in the transition space between dawn and day, green in day, purple in vault and orange in forest.
It is possible that the elements shifted between the time of the prophets (season of prophecy) and the merchants (season of Enchantment), and how their symbols changed over time as the civilisation grew.
I am just spit balling thoughts here.
these are lightseekers, and the lightseeker light orbs
while this is how the murals show the enchantment orbs
isn't there a mural on the deck of the boat showing the elements looking like asterisks as they fall from the sky, then the figure encase them in orbs?
thats all the murals that depicts figures and orbs, and the deck ur talking about is the 2nd one
There's the central deck, which shows them using the orbs to create fireworks and the like. It's possible spells were originally spherical (and the Indifferent Alchemist's memories show them trying to use the blue light like a spell to purify the water in the cave with 3 crabs), and so the colored lights might have been some of the more powerful spells. Considering their effects on the Ark itself, it's not too much of a reach
ah sorry its this one
these are the fireworks
but that proves the point that prophecy elements and enchantment orbs are completely different from each other
to the left, there are flying asterisks.
Here you are showing the figures containing the light in orbs (or bubbles), which can be used in fireworks.
Also, it is interesting to see the asterisk transforming into an element once it is contained.
which could depend on its colour to determine its element.
/okay, but these probably didnt happened all at once. how do we know the timeline of events
Lightseekers likely came before, given their whole thing is "seeking light" and then we have the light they found being given to what appear to be Vault spirits
i dont think prophecy elements are ur typical light either, tho similar in portrayal with lightseeker orbs, lightseeker orbs are essentially natural occuring and it its essense is wat the enchantment scholars are tampering with, could be that where the lightseekers got the light from have influence over wat the orb would turn out, or its the scholar's influence on which how an orb would turn out
/prophecy then, is it before or after enchantment?
Not sure, we could go by the order of release, order of the realms, assessing the spirit's look and their living conditions.
Creating a list with any of those factors would take some time to do.
wat is clear is that lightseekers and enchantment are of the similar timeframe, anything outside that is irrelevant
Prophecy is likely before them all, but potentially after some. Lightseekers and Enchantment most likely took place after the Kingdom fell, if the way the spirits interact with their environment is any indication
Ye
/explain the 3 orbs in the caves then, the double piggy cave
how i would explain prophecy elements is; its the primordial lights of the lands itself, the purest soul jam in cookie run's terms. its the origin and different but not seperate from the light
Those seem to have been the same ones that turn up on the boat at the end, since the 3 spirits during the final phase of the memory are holding out orbs of a similar size
Is the forgotten ark intended to be heading to eden, or has that been changed since the old lore?
keynote, lightseekers are scholars and scholars are secretive. they likely wouldve tried to isolate their goals to the outside, its like they knew wats happening and worked with the enchantment scholars to try and create a 'cure'. atleast thats how i see it since the enchantment orb's effects are relevant to it
The ark from Enchantment is most likely not the same one from the concept art, since their purposes and creation seem to have been wholly different
else, thered be no reason for them to put an ark replica hidden below the isle dunes/hills somewhere that only them and some isle pilgrims have knowledge of
the enchantment crew had botanist, carpenter, muralist and others i dont remember the names of or havent been released as traveling spirits yet. idk where this is relevant but an insight is cool
It's possible the Enchantment Ark could have been a terraforming mission, given the effects of the lights and their apparent roles
i agree, altho terraforming isnt exactly wat theyd be doing, rather its cleansing; repairing. at this point darkness wouldve been rapidly growing to the point that corrupted creatures started to manifest(ark krill mural, crab cave mural)
like i said, the scholars knew. but they were too late
Krills appear in the last prophesy mural too, which means they may have been there for longer than the corruption
well yes, but then again, its been confirmed that krills are corrupted. even with the chaotic spiky strokes in the mural, theres no real way atm to differentiate between a light dragon and a corrupted one
travelling spirits form that season were: Nodding muralist (January 2021)m Indifferent Alchemist (October 2020), Crab Walker (February 2021) and snoozing carpenter (March 2021).
The only ones that have not come back as travelling spirits were Scarecrow Carpenter and Play fighting Herbalist

I mean, if they were corrupted after Eden fell, it would certainly point more towards Enchantment taking place after the Storm erupted
Doesn't quite explain what's going on with Prophecy, but then again, maybe darkness was already a strong force by the time it truly became a Kingdom, and had already gotten the light dragons
the darkness only grew when they strayed from the light, there were already ancestors even before the elders fell. point is, ancestors wouldnt have survived by then if darkness were that rampant since
but u could argue that they couldve lived hidden aswell, only when the elders fell were they able to recreate and claim the land for the light
This might be important or an inconsistency.
Why is there not cut scene showing the vault constellation?
Is it because vault is right under the storm, so could not show it, or something wrong with the elder not being able to beam up to its constellation?
What)s the topic
because vault is weird, its the only realm that u could literally call ethereal. it physically exists but it exists someplace that shouldnt, or at the border of it. i dare say it can directly pave way to the elder's plane
is vault some sort of nuclear bunker
it doesn't seem as effected to corruption
maybe the ancestors expected all the other realms to be long gone by the time skykids arrived and they thought they needed a representtive of each realm but not the vault itself since, well, they're going to be looking at it
hm.
It also has the weirdest transition area.
You ride an elevator to the top and meditate at a floating island. Instead of returning to that space, you instead end up in a different room with a broken alter where you either enter eden, or take a random portal back home (one of the only portals outside of home and office, mind you).
the realm is not a really a realm, but a gate.
its why i believe they already broke the 4th wall, making office somewhat canon
theres this old concept too
w h a t’s th e topi c
it explicitly depicts both worlds as, Human World and Sky World thats both involved and interacts with a cycle
,_,
Why is cooldown extremely long now, what did ya’ll do this time
idk lmao, my good old crackpot theories
office is probably irrelevant to the story since it's more of an easter egg and all it does is showcase the tgc office and not other places in the real world... Plus vault isn't really below the sky world and office, a real world, has elements from the sky world like crabs and krills
thats the common opinion but i think otherwise, the office content couldve been anywhere else but vault or not exist at all, or maybe they wanted to engrave themselves into the game they made, as self indulgence idk, but they couldve done that, again, anywhere else. -u can cannon into orbit to the uss satellite. -vault having critters and stuff would ruin its theme. its named Vault of Knowledge and u dont want crabs and krills fooling around fragile knowledge in the form of tic tac capsules
not-exact-but-smth-along-the-lines-dev quote "vault is a fragile place; its supposed to be a dreamlike realm"
this is why i emphasize on how weird vault is, its literally all over the place
Vault is sort of a recap of the other realms, and has other parallels to them as well
The floors that represent Isle and Prairie (who are the only elders with Eden visible during their cutscenes) are also the two most "real" floors, with the one exception being the very top, leading into Eden itself, which is only accessible once you connect to the Vault Elder and see the final constellation depicting Eden (which itself matches up with the Favorite Friend constellation and is called "The Light")
The Vault Elder themself seems to have been extremely important, given that their shrine is the only one with statues of the other Elders (likely why they all show up in that one cutscene), aside from the one during the ascent of Eden into Orbit, and given that their cutscene takes place on the entire island at the summit, they likely have the greatest influence over their realm even now, trapped in limbo, compared to the other Elders
Whereas the rest of them seem only capable of opening doors, adding a pot that triggers the formation of light butterflies, summoning birds, or adding a power diamond to the mechanism that opens their door, Vault's dream-like realm seems to extend to at least the 3rd floor. Since the floor the Archives are on is rather vague, it's hard to say the full extent, but Vault was probably the most powerful in a spiritual sense. Also likely the most important, given the shrines at the summit line up exactly with those in Eden, and their presence in the mural where the King lights up Eden's mountain
Also there are crabs present in Vault, in the Archives, making Prairie's temple the only temple with absolutely no darkness present in or immediately around it. Further proof that the Prairie Elder is made of sunshine
But if we office counts as the real world, wouldn't we need to pass through the sky world first before orbit? Plus, we can get to space by rocketing in other realms too.
Vault really is strange, there isn't much substance around and you practically float on some weird sea of stars never seen in other realms; I don't see how they would be able to generate this by activating solely the elevator... What I find kind of funny is that it doesn't really hold useful information despite its name. All the information is stacked in shelves but we can't use em
isle and valley are the least polluted, while vault is void of it despite having lots of diamonds at the works, theyve kept it clean, untainted
office is the real world, the Human World, and vault have a gateway to it, from the Sky World
The power diamonds might not be what's responsible for the dark plants, you know. They're made of wood from the funky trees in Forest and light gathered in Prairie, and the trees themselves have "leaves" made of clouds of light particles. Sharing knowledge is, after all, a form of connection, and darkness is a lack of connection
Vault is weird
Also why there’s a 60 second cool down
well ye, refined diamonds arent corrupted in anyway, once theyve been refined. but its the process thats corrupted, the process that pollutes
How does it pollute? As far as we've seen, there's no darkness involved in the process whatsoever. There's not even dark water in the Forest Temple itself, despite those golden diamonds over in Sanctuary apparently polluting the one geyser, so the darkness must get added later on
the byproducts it produces, the residue. u would notice that theres no polluted water in the temple/factory, but there is a huge dark plant in it
the process is corrupted and the byproduct is the pollutant. in a way its essentially the same thing
There's also the grief and isolation of the Forest Elder themself, who likely feels guilt over the Sky Kingdom's fall and their role in it. They could very well have been the one to accidentally generate those dark plants through their feelings of isolation
maybe the wasteland elder secretly connected one of his pipes to a sanct geyser
extra pocket money for skykids on holiday
oops sorry for ping
darkplants will grow anywhere thats been touched by pollution, no matter how small it is, given that the pots originally was cultivated in prairie, itd make sense that theres a touch of it here and there, specifically speaking about the bells
But does the forest elder reside in the temple, or at least be connected enough to make a difference in the amount of light energy present? Given how the dark plants don't regrow after completely burning them(at least, per server before reset), I think it was simply a matter of balance between light energy and dark energy; before the arrival of skids dark energy balanced out light energy because it had been producing diamonds and was taking up light energy before production stopped. Now that skids burnt the plants, light energy overpowers it and prevents any from growing further
they do regrow, u can burn a plant and stop before it pops completely and itll grow back no matter how small it was before u stopped, and it grows rapidly at that. that itself shows how easy it is for pollution to spread
The bells themselves seem to be tied to light itself, given the visual effect of their ringing as well as the way the metal of the bells changes once those candles are lit. Darkness feeds on light, and is both a physical and metaphysical presence in the Sky Kingdom. The cores we melt away to relive a spirit's memories also count as dark plants, after all, and there are some dark plants that only appear during spirit memories. And what about the bells in Sanctuary? They're almost exactly the same, but despite having the same dark color (at first) as the bells in Villages, they have no dark plants growing on or near them, with the majority of dark plants in Sanctuary appearing in shadowy areas. Even the dark plants themselves will change how they look depending on whether you've obtained wax from them or not
u can burn the big plant's branches to the last stem and stop and itll grow back every branch u burnt, as long as the core or smth is left intact
i think the color change is just game mech to let u know uve already got the plant's light for the day
That's because you haven't burnt them away completely, meaning you haven't actually gotten rid of them, just pushed them around a little. It's the same with cleaning something up: if you don't use soap (light, in our case), the grease (darkness) is just gonna get moved around, and sure, maybe some of it will go away, but not all of it
exactly, but the point is. as long as theres pollution, theres a place for darkplants to grow. same principle with orchids, if the air is clean in an area, u would see alot of orchids growing on trees
Then what polluted the bells in villages? They don't come into contact with any power diamonds. They're powered by white candles, with the greatest density of dark plants appearing around those very same candles
again, the power diamonds arent a source of corruption, its the process thats made during its production. pollution can come from other sources other than the polluted water, it couldve been mixed up with the material as it was being made.
Something makes me think that the dark color of the bells are there just to make it easier to distinguish between activated stupas and out of order stupas... nevertheless given how the bell color, or, activation of the bell depends on whether the candles has been lit up or not and not the burning of dark plants around it, I think dark plants aren't really hindering anything or being invasive but remain kinda passive opposed to other creatures of the dark... I think they're just there because something inside the stupa is constantly generating something for the plants to grow
darkplants wouldnt necessarily take root and grow in and from the diamonds itself, rather, it cant unless its been drizzled with smth that could pollute it
When would the bells have come into contact with that by-product??? They're nowhere near the power diamond production site and they were made in Villages, not Forest or anywhere else
the pots
The pots... which are filled with light... which is shed/molted by light birds and mantas...
there's bit of darkness plants on the top of some pots
in the end-of-spirit little room in the cavern part
iirc
And darkness feeds on light, like how that one krill in Wasteland literally consumes an entire manta because they're made of light, and how dark water and dark matter saps away our own light
I think pollution and dark plants are completely different concepts of their own
pollution actively consumes and destroys light and thrives/originates in darkness, while dark plants simply grow where there is light and does almost nothing... the plants may have been around before the storm
not shed, contained
Those ones aren't even actual dark plants, considering you can't burn them and they don't have the same iridescent effect as dark plants
starfield memorial theories anyone?
so, there are different species of dark plants? that's kinda interesting, I may need to keep on eye out for these
they do seem like dark plants though.. Given the context of the pots in green forest cave, it seems like dark plants would grow in these
Also we literally see light shed by light birds being directed into pots during Laughing Lightcatcher's memories
i mean u dont have to be able to interact with everything to say it as it is, just because u cant burn them doesnt necessarily mean theyre not real. u wouldnt see those kind of growth anywhere else but from a darkplant bud/growth cores. and tgc wouldve removed it if it was unintentional details, like the rock mural in sanctuary
Or dark plants are also corrupted, like dark dragons and dark crabs, and these are the light/neutral version of the original plant
About the krill, they are not efficient hunters because they don't get to consume any winged light, just knock them out of poor skykids.
While a skykid can still lose winged light if they are not able to pick them back up in time or they drop in the water, the krill never claim a winged light for themselves.
I am not sure if a krill even does recognise a winged light on it own and would take it (since the light would quickly break before a krill would take it), or if it was intentional to help skykid reclaim their winged light after a hit. Though the later case is made redundant when all 5 winged light lands in water (Had that happen and it is not funny).
That said, is a krill after the light skykids give, their blue souls or the flame they carry inside?
I vaguely recall a krill reacting to a spirit memory, though am not sure if it is still the case.
light wouldnt grow from dark
ooooh your message just made me think about the Ghibli movie Nausicaä!! (spoilers for it) ||where there's a big forest with toxic air that is taking over the planet, but it's revealed at some point that it's not the plants themselves that are toxic, it's the soil! and when grown in pure water/soil they're harmless.|| idk how relevant to sky this could be but i just wanted to mention it
((also im slow at writing help))
No, but dark can take over light or neutral creatures, like the dark dragons and crabs
I think krills are just... really dumb and lunge at anything that is shiny and moves like a rabid animal
yes, but do u remember the bloom trees? they dont look anything like the darkplants at all. the dark plants are fungal in nature, theyd latch onto anything and anywhere as long as theres pollution present, and if plants/trees can be corrupted, how come the huge trees in forest arent. i mean its dead now but there should be loads of darkplants around it if thats the case
since they make you extinguished, maybe it's just your light they wanna eat
like your light is different from the wl before they're collected
They had haunted by dark soul in ||Trial||
would you think krills have life cycles? the whole larval stage, juvenile stage, all that? I doubt they would even get any food, aside from the single manta at the entrance... Maybe they truly are machines and thus immortal?
What do they have to do with this? Is it because they can give wax? Because so can red (and some white) candles, so clearly wax isn't solely from dark plants. They also look like the dead trees at the Ark, which is more than can be said of the majority of trees in Forest, seeing as those are all extremely vertical and have foliage made of light clouds
lol, I wonder if skykids place down props that light up (like a firework staff, fireplace, torch etc.), the krills' A.I targets these items and become distracted.
Since it is light, I would think it being very useful and cool if krills would go for any light source.
Provided that it is canon for them to be after any flame/light and not just skykids and mantas.
i doubt its relevant to the lore, its definitely game mechs, a source of currency for the game.
oh yeah, why does lighting up a candle and burning down dark plants both release fire orbs? Dark plants may have some since they would've accumulated light as they had grown but candles have zero stock of light
Then why did you bring it up???
ok now im confused, idk where u got the idea that i was talking about candle wax either
Krill aim anything moving (or and glowing in the same time) make that theyre not so dumb by distinguish between glowing statue and food?
Because you brought up the bloom trees, which were part of an event and seem more spirit than actual plant, and whose main purpose was giving us wax (either in the form of candles from a quest or dropped directly from the big tree)???
oof, that tree isnt an event tree, u can relive the vault stance spirit and thered be a similar tree but without the leaves
its a natural tree, a real live one from the memories of a spirit, and that spirit is supposed to be in a forest realm parallel but, in the dream-plane of vault
The one at Home was an event tree, and the one in Vault is part of the memory. TGC likely reused the tree's model like they reused the Rallying Thrillseeker's model for the Days of Rainbow Guide. Regardless, it's not like the trees in Forest, and is more similar to the ones at the Ark, which have no darkness on them at all
Krills obviously have no logical reason attcking skykids, because it's not like they eat skykids or the winged light the drop. All they do all day is wander around aimlessy around gw, attacking skykids being the only deviation... which makes me think they have no coherent thought or consciousness nor the ability to distinguish what's important and what is not
does that mean its not the same?
Considering their shapes and sizes are vastly different, most likely
trees irl varies in shapes and sizes too tho? but same species, isnt that natural growth of a real tree
The branches on the trees in Forest all go straight up, just like the trees themselves. The branches on these trees spread out like actual trees, and the big tree in both the memory and the event coil around organically. If anything, these are neutral trees, and the ones in Forest are light trees or something
an apple tree would be vastly different and unique from another apple tree, and an apple tree would be different from a pine tree, yes?
but they theoritically can grow on the same soil, yes?
Apple trees grow very similarly to one another, with minor differences, just like pine trees grow similarly to one another, with minor differences. The differences between the bloom/memory trees and the Forest trees are not minor. But they certainly could have once grown together. Maybe the smaller trees in Forest died out like the deer and other animals did, and that's why all we have now are the dead ones at the Ark and the memories in the Vault
Anyways, I'm not gonna discuss this with ya further, since I need to sleep

One thing I found odd about the bloom tree at home, looked a lot like the one in the praying spirit's memory?
thats wat i was saying
I feel like this is a bit meta, but where do events come from? Are they related to any in-game lore or are they simply openly driven by tgc and has nothing to do with the story
they just randomly pop up, some comes with new content like polluted geyser, some are returnees like the rainbow event
meta-wise. The events introduces something new to the game to renew their interest with the game, without changing the game too much.
Lorewise, my only thoughts are the events are either arranged by the spirits that linger around, the skykids themselves or even the megabird.
the idea of the megabird thinking of new items and spells for skykids is so cute
For an elusive being, it is a lot like a divine momma bird.
/uh has anyone notice the wind mill thing kinda looks like king, like look at the gold part
or the megabird.
Not sure if I may talk about teaser images, since it was a beta spoiler. So, will leave the interesting thing about that specific symbol alone.
/wait old beta or current beta
umm... new beta (it was in a video a beta tester shared.)
So, it may not be allowed on this channel.
/also, first of, the thing has a diamond in the middle
/is in an old build? if it's like two seasons ago, i think it's legal
It is for the next season. (though could change)
@quick grail
Here you go ! I did this with the request and collaboration of chromespice
They look fantastic!
If I may ask, would it include the elder manta?
/YOOOOO THAT"S SUPER SICK, maybe credit yourselves in the thing tho?
I will update it soon along with the boat chart when I stop procrastinating, maybe after 50 years idk. I and Spice's names are already at the bottom of the chart title too
omg the lore material game in this is up the roof
Ali's super detailed analysis is definitely interesting to read and study

The descriptions are by Spice, I did the chart itself
I don't have enough braincells to do such analysis
u can make a graphic book out of this
send confeti emote to Spice if they're okay with it. it's definitely is a cool one
I'm planning on making more charts for mundane Sky stuff in the future...... I have my eyes on the jars

Will do, Velvet ! Tho I haven't seen them around anymore these days
DO WHURTLES, i just wanna see them mountainous bois alive even if just an illust
/TELL SPICE I LOVE THEM (as someone who made very good charts, not-- yk)
Maybe more Sky creatures then
along with big manta boi
Ooohhh, yeah I remember someone mentioning that there were “animal quests”. Makes sense!
Now it just looks a bit like a ritual or rite to do before a manta race
(I mean, like making an ice bird, not sacrificing one lol)
Huh?
what are mana-tees??? Are they uncorrupted krill?
you known krills do look rather skeletal. I mentioned here before that they look like they used to have “flesh”
THESE TOTALLY REMINDED ME OF THE VALLEY BUILDINGS!
ikr
Wow so the place where we meet the GW elder was supposed to be a lot more industrial huh?
Wow, there was this awesome LoTR sequence with the elder holding back enemies?
you should really check out the pins it's all from there
Don’t forget Sanctuary Island! It is completely surrounded by water
You know, the place actually gives credence to your theory—when you enter, you are up above and have to fly downward.
THERES THE BOW KRILL I WAS LOOKING FOR YESTERDAY
sorry I forgot to ping you haha
Wait—so that elder scene might’ve been a projection or hologram?
i wouldn’t think so, since we meet the other elders from the other levels within the spirit world
Really, I’m asking because I don’t want to think that the elders and/or Archive elder wasn’t “real”, so to speak
Or maybe the Ancients started messing with dark power, a power source a lot harder to control than light power
I think the old concept art showing a blue wasteland elder holding back dark creatures was an old concept of them being spirits, or at least ethereal.
Since it was an old concept art, the idea was changed so the elders are more physical, though only in their own realm, since they are never seen in the mortal world.
I have a feeling he was trying to mess with a greater power source for well-intentioned reasons, but it became a lot more than he (or the ancients) could handle
Thinking about how TGC is subverting the common evil vs good binary, and how they mentioned that the Sky world has an ecosystem deeply entwined with light and dark, I’m thinking that perhaps light and dark can be harnessed as power sources. Dark is probably harder to control, or something that shouldn’t be messed with for stupid reasons (like, it isnt bad, but probably akin to trying to maintain nuclear power vs electricity. You make a mistake with the former, you’ve killed millions really quickly
)
so, the elder are the anti-heroes of the game, still?
As in, they being the guardians that failed their duties.
Someone on here made this interesting theory on how they different because the King accidentally gave the wrong elements to the wrong elders
Ooh wow, I never thought of the Archive elder as being rather important among all the elders. I kinda saw the old guy—Isle elder—as the wizened leader or perhaps seasoned adviser. Though maybe the elders took the lead from Archive elder, if not formerly the king. (Maybe she is sorta like a second in command).
And man, I really get the vibe that Archive elder is really ashamed about something. If she had the burden of being pseudo-leader (like a council leader), maybe she feels she did did not adequately uphold that burden in some way. Maybe this is why she is in charge of the Vault: she took on the job to wait a long time for skids and maintain the memories for that long interim as atonement. (Or maybe she had been in charge of the Vault all along, idk.)
discovering nuclear energy gone awry
Haha, it’s okay!
And sorry guys, I’m sending replies so much. I’m catching up on what I missed
💦
Ah, maybe...I don’t know. Like I said can I know there isn’t a clear cut good vs evil binary, but I feel that the blame for the whole apocalypse lies somewhere. Probably a lot of bad but well intentioned decisions made by many that had a domino effect
say, the spirit we see in the pointing stargazer's memory, the light child that fell from the sky.
Is that by any chance the same spirit seen in the dark room in eden, the one we hug and become a glowing skykid about to ascend?
If so, would that make it a winged light in spirit form?
Is there like a compilation of the lore? like somewhere were I can read it all?
there is the lore docs in the pinned messages.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
and this one that is floating around
sky lore is so gud
fax

they don’t know, right?
You’re right. I don’t know what you guys are talking about
D:
they don’t know
Just because the further you go into lore, the more you realize its AGGRESSIVELY vague.
Discuss about krills before the cutscene secretly are in the Sand/ground under the map.
discuss where they come from
One can assume they must have been wandering the desert and waiting for the temple to open.
They could possibly be attracted to the power of an active diamond.
theyre awoken, atleast the ones u can see rise up
they dont necessarily come from the ground like burrowing creatures
theyre ancient corrupted beings that couldve been slumbering since the disaster, only to be awoken by honking skid's arrival
theyre attracted and hostile to the light after all, maybe they could sense the slightest presence of a light creature and wake them up inside
what do you guys think that golden wasteland would look like before the war?
golden
but if we consider the cinematic trailer, all realms looked way different back then
so, that golden?
probably like El Dorado levels of gold.
Wasteland elder be the richest of them all, lol.
it says golden so it must be golden
Y
Dark plants could be corrupted light fungus grown from the Dark water
Maybe
tbh i'm starting to really like this idea. because it goes with the "not just good/evil binary"
i should try to think it over more
Also, the black drops that go off dark plants when they’re burning might be dark water, or something similar. That means that burning dark plants for wax pollutes the world further
hi lore chat
hello
Random piece of official concept art that seems mildly interesting
they all sound like subnautica species names
Doot
hm
seems cool, and makes sense since the concepts do say that smaller creatures(birds, butterflies) grow into larger ones when older(mantas) then even larger(whale)
corrupted creatures go brr
also why is the cooldown so long
The second image of how the skid “saves” the creature reminds me of how we dig out wax from those plants
Imagine there being a monster in the waters.
You see the light in the water, but when you let it come too close, it rises out of the muck and holds you in place.
The best way to get rid of it is by chiming as loud as you can and then getting away.
You can scare it off when more than one skykid holds out their candle to burn it and send it away for a short amount of time.
angler fish?
yeah, or a pile of sentient muck.
Just something to give more reason not to get stuck in the dark water.
quick question: did the corruption of dark stones come before of after the big ark explosion?
i'm getting confused because in the old lore timeline the corruption comes after the explosion, but I'm seeing a lot of timelines that say that corruption came first
I had a dream that an area was added to the golden wasteland that explained the origin of the krill. That they were sky children that were experimented on.
ohno
oh no
I realized something strange, on the rock where the quest is on. There are markings that are found no where else in the realm. I have no idea what this means, but it’s definitely odd.
I recall the corruption took place before the explosion as the krill were corrupted, threatened the ancestors and they built an ark to eden, which ended in an explosion. That was the old lore.
The current lore seems to still support that given the spirits were aware of the krill before they were killed.
thank you!
you see the same stone texture in eden as well.
It could mean that the area the where Golden Wasteland is near to where Eden would be. Not super close, more or less in the same region.
I’ll keep my eyes out for that texture rock the next time I go to Eden. It would makes geographical that Wasteland is near Eden. We know Wasteland elder protected the Vault from the dragons and the Starlight Desert also proves that the realm is extremely close to Eden.
It is theorised that vault is under the storm, since it takes you up the mountain to the start of Eden.
So if Wasteland leads right up to the vault tower, it could be near Eden, but much lower down.
You will see most of the ground there is the same texture. If I am wrong, then my eyes are worst than my memory.
I’m going to draw a map out
I think there is a map you can use for reference. One moment
I drew a quick sketch
Oh, I thought of the world.

That works as well!
Before
this art is dope
I'm currently working on a map, but it only goes as far as the Golden Wasteland
hey i'm working on this theory and i just wanted to make sure if the areas in seasons are accurate lore-wise? like are they impacted by the lore of the game
for example in prophecy there are lore on the walls but was the place also impacted of the lore that occurred in the sky realm?
Hello, sorry if this is a dumb question or something but, is there somewhere to read everything related to the lore? like all the cannon and most popular fan theoris and stuff?
i'm not sure where you can read all the fan theories, but there's a lot of canon source material in the pinned posts!
Crabs can extinguish light sources. I found that out while experimenting with the leap emote as it could somehow prevent crab attacks. The crabs would walk onto the light source and it would be extinguished meaning I as the player had to light it back up again. Not sure if this connects to any lore but I found it interesting.
But wax makes you richhh so nobody really cares at this point
Does anyone know if the prince from that one concept art is actually in the lore? Ik there's a king but is there a prince?
Idk if he was ever made but yeah he got scrapped
i thought it was more because it just didn't fit and it lost the point of rebirth but maybe
Alright, so while candlerunning in Prophecy Cave I found these:
(also I was lurking in the channel a few minutes earlier)
I think that proves that the elders / spirits knew of the existence of kills. And there's that thing that looks like the ark?
ok ok so as promised (but none of you care) i am going to be doing a look at the valley-wastes mountain system and how incredibly tall the valley range is
so first if we want to even go to the valley we have to start with the forest.
we all know (probably not) the forest starts with a giant cliff from where the plateau of the prairie highlands end. so we make our way through the forest yada yada and only now can we start with the valley
as you can see by this butt ugly map i made, the valley range is very tall and this other in game image backs that up
That's exactly how i thought wasteland to be
and the forgotten ark is again in between the two cloud layers
so basically we fly our way up to the valley by cloud tunnel and emerge the other side to see various mountains in the distance. we slide down from the social space to the ice rink and then enter either the flying or sliding races (these dont matter since both of the tracks merge at the end to the stadium.
this is where it gets interesting!!
so basically you think the stadium is the lowest point in the valley, but if you visit the village of dreams, you see that the stadium looms over you. this means that maybe there is a staircase or elevator down to the temple end/wastes entrance. this brings me to the next part and why i call it the valley-WASTES range
as you can see, these mountains in the wasteland proper extend beyond the clouds and are also positioned behind the cyclone eye (which is where the valley would start) that we fall from.
i think it may be the base of the already FRICKIN HUGE mountain range that is the valley
so in conclusion, big boi mountain
Geography
That mountain is small compared to eden
lol no kidding
a pyramid scheme
Calculating eden mountains full height when
/let's chibi stack our way up
Just thought about it
The light from the sky kids only come from their outfit
And without that, they are completely black
So...
The sky kids are dark creatures?
hold on I didn't think through the slowmode
this is one of the concept arts...
Not necessarily dark creatures in the sense that skids can coexist with light in their bodies, but I believe they are some parts darkness just enough to resemble the ancestors in appearance
Maybe they are made from the same thing the dark creatures are, but they got their glowing capes and are good now
But I like the idea of them being hybrid between Winged Light and Dark Kids
Long live the King and the lore chat, is clean water illegal now
No, I don’t know
On this, I saw a theory a while ago somewhere else connecting the elders to the grown ups, and while playing I picked up on a couple details that connect them that differ from the story, like the Narcissist’s outfit (obviously) and the fact the bookworm is reading rather than acting like the geographer in the book, who asks the prince to explore for him so he can collect information.
I just watched it and I think this could be GW. It’s golden, near the base of a mountain (Eden) and has lots of water
To this^
:O that makes sense! since its a bit hard to tell because currently you cant see the Eden mountain in GW (even tho i think that its too far away in starlight desert, imo, if we think that its in Vault). But i like that idea a lot! fertile land. pretty.
this is interesting as hell where did you found it?
Phone storage go brrrrr
/sky switch trailer announcement, oh shoooot wrong ping
/uhhh but for that one it's tomzhao.com/sky1 edit,. linkkk not working whyyyyy, let's retry https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1
What’s interesting is that except isle and Eden, no areas in this trailer exist in the game.
I hope that one day our king will stand on top of Eden, shooting beams with his eye
/yk, with that and all the water, im thinking the place is pre wasteland
/and the crabs part is where forest will turn out to be
/hmmmmm i found this- seems interesting
maybe sky world was more destroyed then what we thinked? the first area with the water could be GW, just like refered a bit above. the trees with the animals remembered me of Forest and the energy spirits where you can recharge, in the trees. and then Isle ofc
/what's with all the weird crabs in forest then, did the rain washed them away, why are they shy, and not hostile. Yk, you shine light on them, they ran away, rather than bonk the hell outta ya
Well we know that crabs were corrupted, and maybe boinking us is a sign of that, since krill also do that
/yk the little hats the crabs had in the trailer is really cool, someone mentioned it look like prarie bells
So I found it on pinterest, which linked me to all the concept art done by this one person that worked or still works on sky
If you're talking about the picture quality it's not my fault 😭
/the og link is here btw
/and uh, i think they're refering to the amount of storage needed to render that version of eden, i mean, current eden makes my phone fry eggs already so
Oh lmaoooo, sky on my phone is already a challenge, huge spears wouldn't really help haha
My dear and beloved light lore-seekers! What's the topic?
Reading all this theories or lore gives me ace attorney vibes I swear
The switch trailer and connecting it to the current realms
Halloooo, what’s the topic
The part where the spider-crabs appear may be forest
Maybe not since when they arrived, they are in Isle- so maybe another kingdom
👁️👁️‼️
so we can't consider this season into sky lore?
Most likely, since it’s a crossover but that doesn’t mean you can squish it in your sky lore
Seasons don't really have lore. There are little things in them but not too much info about the lore
MmmmmmMMm.. we can see the isle temple in it's actual position, can we assume that they come from somewhere before the isle of dawn, somewhere we can't see in-game.
And it is golden
And it is wasteland
YES
Also, we can't see the Cave of Prophecies in Isle.. interesting..
Aside from Enchant and Prophecy, yep not much lore in the other seasons
Dreams is not rlly, it’s just a story of a skater
dreams?
There's something called editing, the trailers need not be accurate
They are presented in a way to engage the viewers. So i won't consider the trailer a 100% accurate
I sent this on the season's lore earlier
Yep
The only two seasons that I consider in lore are Lightseekers and Prophecy. Assembly, Dreams, Belonging and Enchantment are more like stories situated in the Sky universe. I don't know how to consider the others
Wait lightseekers has a lore?
I saw a comment of that the lamp guy in the trailer may be training to be a lightseeker
Cool
It's interesting, in the 2-year QnA, Jenova says that Krills are corrupted, Season of Enchantment happened after their corruption..
I mean, Krills exists before the Kingdom was kade
But they weren't darkness creatures. That's what you mean?
What
Is it just me or do these places look the same/similar
I’m not really chatting but watching this go at 1 am, but I agree
so krills were light creatures?
Here, Jenova says krills are corrupted
Yeah
Time will tell..so they DO plan to make some stuff for the lore
Krills are seen in the prophesy mural, looking away from all the people, as they look now, but they may have been corrupted before that or that’s their normal outline
Gtg, cya later loreseekers
time will tell...
10 years later…
/j
The fact I’m thinking of lore and getting aware of my mom at the midnight
To be honest I always thought krills were some kind of machine. Why? Because when you get closer they make some weird mechanic noises, or maybe its just me
Same, until canon came and ruined it
They do make weird sounds like there’s random stuff inside it
Idk I also think it’s hungry
And I mean it probably looks like that whale to me but corrupted in the sanctuary islands/ when going to wasteland
I had a similar theory a while ago about them being biologically altered on purpose as a weapon
I wonder if everything happened on purpose or..on accident
I would think a mix
Idk, I’m not a beta so.. :[
But I sometimes think of the random bones or random eggs in the hidden forest clearing
Or like well the krills hiding under sand before the scene,
And maybe they do hide like that, or from the water
Funny thing is I saw a hiding krill under a pipe when it’s not supposed to do that and normally get stuck.
Edit: this isn’t called lore, box username me.
Do you have a screenshot?
And thinking the fact that uhm the bones near the temple
And one of the mantas guiding us to the temple is cool but
The big bones near the elders temple which gives u a calling looks kind of sus to me as I think it’s probably a bigger manta either something before it was called the hidden forest cause the hidden forest has stuff hidden sometimes, like the uhh 3rd quest of the little prince where the whale thing comes out again,
And there is only cloudy, and many isles cut off but near eachother
A
Oh yeah, in Graveyard: the devs said that the skull is inspired by turtles skulls and the body is inspired by a whale so uh some people said that they are whurtles
Not mine,
So the skeleton bones look big, but comparing it to a whale i think the bones are even more bigger than this one, but looking at the head it has one eye like a manta soooo
And doesn’t even look like a krill or any other creature to me
Oh that was confirmed? Cool! I saw some theories about that a while ago
That’s in Forest, they were talking about Wasteland
Ah, My bad even though I knew
I talk about random stuff often sorry
I’m not really able to stick to a conversation to random other people I haven’t talked with before
I cant really think of what it’s like to talk in this server That’s why, because I joined like 2 or 1 week ago and still learning how to do stuff here
Ooo, that I personally think it’s this
since uh the head is similar :D
Same ;-;
Thinking about wildlife and stuff, I find it interesting that only some wildlife was corrupted. And what happened to the birds in the forgotten arc area, since we know they were there from Farmer
Wait, there’s a scarecrow? :0
<><>
Scarecrow..?
The farmer
Wait wha- ohhhhhhhhh
the one hole where collect the red light? 🤔
In their spirit memory it shows some birds, but there are none in the unrestored arc, so what happened
I cant really think of a thing,
But there’s a krill when you enter the forgotten arc/ark however it’s spelled-
and I don’t know, if the guy was trying to keep the birds away
(I have a memory of the guy doing a ‘shOo’ to the birds, although idk if that’s right)
And if one krill only hunts one area which is around the Rock things
And every other person in the other area was doing they’re stuff then
When like uhh how do I say this-
(And sorry for my bad English, I’m not used to speaking English properly! ><)
Hard to think 😦 I’m gonna take my time on this
And if the scarecrow didn’t exist,
Maybe the birds would’ve had pecked it and like, threw it down or something.
Sometimes it doesn’t really scare crows,
but they’re probably not even crows anyway,
Isn’t that why there isn’t a scare crow?
I don’t remember what it really shapes like but
If there was a farmer
And that was the forgotten ark,
And there’s a ancestor trying to restore its like beauty in the area
Maybe there was only some survivors trying to restore the land back.
And, if they are birds, then before the battle I think everything used to look a bit more simple like nothing breaking or stuck inside the sand,
Mostly I’d see boats everywhere in every dimension portals when going through them but I think they were heading to the king, idk if that’s how u say it but
Maybe wasteland wasnt really a broken kingdom
I’m not good at lore, sorry
It’s because I hate reading and like to save images instead to try to understand it.
Although even if it says king next is a different elder for it, and next leads to vault.
I kinda don’t understand but eden and wasteland look familliar cause they both have krills, and I don’t understand which king belongs there,
Yes this may be in eye of eden spoilers and sorry to say but
I don’t think it’s in wasteland.
I messed up the scare crow thing DDD:
Sob
Dw, spoilers are legal here (including office, yes)
Don't worry, I'm really bad at other languages too. The krill could actually be the reason, I forgot about that. From my understanding, after GW became a wasteland some scholars tried to save it using the lights, but crashed and lost all of them. They tried anyway, but it didn't work and they ended up dying
everything except beta spoilers are fine
Thanks chesca and Luna,
And that clears why it’s called golden and it’s a wasteland
this looks like starlight desert
I- sorry to say but ||when I was a moth, I used to say that the entry of wasteland was getting flushed into a toilet and going to the sewers.||
Please, you just get flushed into a toilet,
Go to the sewers and meet random snakes and bugs in the sewers,
And plus it’s probably like junk as the color of wasteland,
And next lots of stuff get flushed which summons many krills,
And going to the vault is just like it’s eco, now clean water
My dumb ideas make u laugh doesn’t it
Not sure if it's been discussed or not, but what do krills do after they attack mantas (besides obviously destroying them), and why don't mantas flee?
cus manta dum or its destined to die regardless, to show wat the krills can do
Krill are the dung beetles of Sky and that anything of light is uhh
this is my favorite summary of gw
||I think the exit temple of valley is also like a toilet flush but slow just the first part then it goes into the sewers of wasteland we gooooooooooo||
I think krills absorb mantas' light, mantas not fleeing could be just for game purposes but they might have not seen the krill?
manta dum
no
manta cool
Manta yeet you into the sky manta cool
ok let’s talk about lore that the clouds are toilets , I accidentally spread some kind of funny virus 😂😂😂😂
“N O.”
yes
I swear when the lore people come to life the few hours later they will start screaming at me pls
lore people? wat u talking about?
I MET WITH TOO NICE PEOPLE THEN MY PHONE RANG AND I ACCIDENTALLY CLOSE THE GAME
nah you're fine
theres no lore for lore people to talk about either. are u implying theres lore?
Dw, we won’t go for ur head
Why is wasteland so ugly
its not tho
pollution
It's plain and has an ugly colour
prairie is plain and has an ugly color
because its destroyed, theres a bunch of pollution and its kinda corrupted. also it looks fine to me
Look at prairie or the hidden forest, it's far superior in terma of aesthetics and colour
the color is indeed gross
it's like
dusty cracking green waterproof paint on roofs
Respect all realms please???
Ok so, uhm
Before going to the king of toilets and sewers,
We’ve got the sink which later we have to push soap and wash our hands,
Then the soap (the clouds) washing of and then the washed off soap
Races down some mountains and goes to wasteland,
When they go to wasteland they next go inside the sink or a flushed toilet
And then getting flushed, the moth suffers seeing that there’s not light to survive with
And then they go to forgotten ark to try and restore it to try to make it into pure beautiful water,
Hi we gotta go through trash
Going through trash, there’s many black big flies are about to consume you,
When consumed you lose light,
You get past 5 flies that surrounds trash,
And you make it to the pure water center where you get to have ur water picked up in the some kind of center to put it a bottle, oh no someone spilled water,
Here we go, Your in eden, and your trying to survive with nature before drying up
But then you reborn in rain, great story eh
It's a realm, why do I need to respect it if it's not appealing?
ohh
wasteland has a dark aesthetic, like eden. all of the realms have somewhat of an aesthetic to me. its not bright but that makes sense, since the lore isn't really that bright, so its expected a realm or two would be dark. you don't have to like it of course
Spoilers are legal here including office, tho beta stays in beta
I mean, the entire chat is a spoiler /lh
ohhh wait i forgot this way lore discussion not general hahaha sorry
yeah it felt like general for a second, regarding the wasteland color and stuff
ur house is ugly and plain, its unappealing in terms of aesthetic and color. i do not need to respect ur house's aesthetic for it
Idk what else to talk about lore, anybody got ideas?
Like about the spirits,
I sometimes think it’s dead cause they didn’t won the battle
Cause they are called spirits, helpers and people who work.
I've noticed that the sewage pipes in gw have blue painted patterns on them
they really be destroying the environment in style
I also have no idea since there’s not a lot of lore in Sky
spirits ded, but not ded. think about that 🧠
ur gonna need to respect it when the next season is there
Depends, a house is owned by a person and a person that's livinv in poverty could be offended and disrespectful to them but nobody owns the realm so I am free to say my opinion
Spirits are our mommy and dads 🥺
Ok stop making it general
We only get crumbs of lore and never a huge chunk. Even if it's a huge chunk it's so vague so there will be multiple ways to interpret it
coughs in wasteland elder coughs in myself
Hello and stop arguing about realms because that is obviously not lore related, if you want to fight about realms just go to #general-sky-discussion :)
Anyways, back to lore
Well, they're called spirits for a reason... while I think some may have died from the war, some may have died from corruption or simply from everyday accidents, who knows
yep, or handle in dms
just because they’re dead doesnt mean they dont get to pay taxes
ikr!! vague stuff are fun and all but i want some solid lore for once
I know I am late to the party, but
WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT!!?
I cant tell if the eye of eden part of saving statues is dark water or pure red water but
Have
Have
Have you ever wondered about the red crystals and why it absorbs your light
That it looks like it’s getting smaller and smaller
That it feels like it’s making an actual clean up
And why we get stuck on crystals randomly
I think the citadel spirits fell
My….m-my god!!!…..
he’s telling us that he’s…. HES..!!!!!!
||superior by t posing near the channels that our on the side,
Telling that he’s king here and wants us to obey.||
That is theorized to be the king from the concept arts
I rate ur theory eight out of ten
Oh hey, it’s our beloved King Resh 😍😍😍😍😍
HAHA, GET RESH’D LMAO
its an unused model for the corrupted king
Ajjaoajo i love this video too much

Curiousity about resh, he fits in a Reshturant. anyway, pun intended?
It has an attack animation too
I mean, it’s King. Who doesn’t? 😌
I don't remember seeing him in any of the pinned sources, where can I find more of this?
Has anyone wondered that the vault of knowledge isn’t supposed to have eye of eden but just
Be named Vault of knowledge
Because we’ve seen everything, the markings on the walls and everywhere in every realm,
So I don’t think it’s needed to be called eye of eden because the loop is like
Wasteland
Vault
Wasteland
Vault
You can find more of the king in Tom Zhao's website I believe. There are concepts of them and the prince
Or just name it eye of eden cause it is knowledge,
And it tells us what we are gonna face the next problem.
Sh I think my parents woke up cause it’s two am brb I’m gonna listen to noises
enemies of the Propaganda i mean people who hate lore and the king
Who are they? I don’t know them, all I know is that everyone loves King 😊
Haha *reloads wasteland catapult* where?
You know that everyone calls krills a shrimp or smth right
What if they were random wax that grew in water with magic
And tuned into the krill
I mean I’ve seen a few darkness wax OC’s in the internet sky fan art.
About these images, how long have they been around?
I am doing an image search and either google is confused or these images are a few days old?
I've seen these for a while now? so i think google i confused
Same
FANART ALERT, FANART ALERT!!!
You are not supposed to post fanart here, with credit or not since it can confused some people
corrupted skykid? also i think people can do that
Ok
welp....
I might suggest not to go too deep into that.
Because this might be a beta thing.
I found something... that is... weird.
I'll keep reading, though am starting to think that, this is NOT old lore.
What happened to the lore discussion it exploded cause of me talking about toilets I swear
these the regulars
Let’s talk about where the crabs came from and why it exists
It’s hard to think about crabs
tgc described them as walking rocks
Walking rocks excellent,
Thank you battle
You even corrupted a rock
Rocks even move in real life you know
Imagine decorating your house with stones to make a beautiful garden and suddenly it comes to life as a crab,
But if they are walking rocks
Then there’s no rocks in the sea of anywhere
Why do these crabs exist and where did these rocks came from
And how did the darkness flew it until this far about walking crabs
Probably came from eye of eden cause of
yes, rocks
But not a interesting conversation cause it’s described as a cute baby rock.
In the trailer there are lil hats on them. Idk if its relevant but its cute
||im talkative a lot but, has anyone grabbed a spirit near shipwreck and saw a spirit set sail with 2 people on a boat while 1 person waves goodbye, meaning the ship was parked there?||
Goody goodby crabs c:
The ship likely crashed and the boats were possibly like life rafts.
The spirit is likely the captain who had to stay behind on the ship.
And if there were two person on one boat,
And one was on a boat,
And there’s one boat In the forgotten ark would t it mean it had some kind of connection about some pots, I MEAN the gold pots in the shipwreck looked like it was filled with butterflies.
Ur smarter than me, I will krill myself for your profile picture to stare at my dead light
@pure pecan I am asexual, are you making fun of me or everyone else
🤮
Does anyone know why the wasteland is so dead, it has a lot of ruins and such which means at some point people lived there but did it die because of darkness of eden or? Just wondering what the lore behind the wasteland is
lol, thank you. I have been looking into the lore for a while, so know a few things 😉
Well they do say it’s a battle and stuff
But I wonder more about the pipes
It is an industrial district that had a lot of pollution.
Seeing how bad the krill are infesting it and the water is poisoned. there is very little life that would survive.
Even if there were spirits taking care of the machines or if the environment was not as bad when the spirits were alive, ,the place is pretty much a volatile environment in my opinion.
What are krill supposed to be? Genetically mutated worms?
Ohhhh okay I was wondering about that, thank you
The most popular theories are: Pollution and War
Wasteland is assumed to have a lot of low-class people and uh labor yknow so most of the productions of diamonds (which are made by crushing light creatures, in concept arts btw) are in there.
War, the most popular theory about the war stuff is the Two Shields Theory. Which is basically divided into 2 groups: The Sun Shield group did not like the fact you have to smush light creatures to make diamonds. The Diamond Shield group supported the productions of diamonds. Thus, the war started
What are krill supposed to be? Genetically mutated worms?
Me: dad, look at my character.
shows low budget looking avatar
My dad: that’s your avatar?
It looks cute and simple.
Me: thanks
My dad: is that game called sky that u introduced me a day ago.
Me: yes
My dad after hearing storyline
My dad: hmm, I wonder if they go to any other different kind of islands after being reborned,
Like in a new place.
My mind: j-journey?
Has anyone wondered that journey is related to sky so much even though it’s the same community but looks like a different side of isle of dawn
I would say corrupted mantas, but that’s my opinion. Some say they are corrupted whales, or another corrupted animal :D
Sadly, Journey and Sky are not related (aka, Sky is not the sequel, nor prequel) tho they are in the same universe
There is lore, just vague
So basically there is 0 lore, why does this channel exist then
I wanna say, the Undertale way
“Amalgamates”, a way of a monster is fused with another monster,
Making it look like some kind of tragic melty thing like I thought the krill is the same too,
I have no reason why I think of that, but probably because it is dark and sad
That’s not how the krill even works normally I think lmao
In my opinion, krill are krill, they’re born from Darkness, and Darkness is born by Darkstone technology
I know some people thought krills were like fallen moths but ye
There’s a little lore, but it’s not canonic now sadly 😢
Wait, wdym it’s not canonic? Did TGC change the canon lore???
Nicknames to give to ur pet krill.
Shrimp
Vacuum cleaner
Dog
Amalgamate
Abomination
Soccer ball
Grill
Drill
Flamingo
Spotlight
Moonlight
Everything what’s canonic now are the credits at the beginning of the game (and it’s not much information)
There are hints and some canon lore, but it’s so vague all we really have are theories. This channel is for those theories
Oh, that
There’s actually a doc that contains all canon actually
Personally I like to name my pet krill Krillian
Krillian the Brazilian
My god
It’s perfect Holy Papi, NAME IT KRILLIAN
https://docs.google.com/document/d/10ZWJRGiJSrIXgDvJ4pST61moZbVB_hBExUjOaF-pmOE/edit
Here’s the canon lore doc if some of ya’ll need it :D
They need to make Sky plushies specifically krills so I can officially name my krill Krillian
Krillian and Spot,
Becoming friends together while they eat moths.
There are also all the murals, and what we can gather from the spirit memories, right?
A beautiful friendship
Yes
THEY EVEN GET INTO THE LORE WITH IT TOO, THEY BECOME FAMOUS CAUSE OF THE LORE.

Could this be moved to general since it’s not rlly lore
Sorry
I would try to but
I wanna talk about lore the sametime but I can’t think of
I want ideas
Oh sure sorry
psst, hey kid. want a doc that contains a lot of theory that you can get inspired on?
Ah, here’s the canon doc then ig
no, i want delicious lore, type for me, it’s 3 am in the morning,
You guys haven’t typed me a bedtime story yet, do it now,
Please I wanna read everything here until my soul lasts
OH lore question, I’ve heard of the king he was suppose to be the elder of eden right? Did they have any lore based around him? And is there a reason he’s not in the game? Or is he and I just missed him.
Canon doc
Anyways, uhh not much lore about King tbh. Only the fact that he can’t be saved anymore. That’s just it
Thought I read somewhere, when ruling over eden, eden was actually very pretty until he became corrupted and ruined eden
Most likely, since Eden is kind of the holy land (the beam is like the stairway to orbit)
Ah I see :0
I mean your probably right but
If I say my own theory I don’t think it’s very clear but
since the krills came in,
I probably think the mantas are the problem that krills came in.
In home, is our lobby but we don’t get any elders or guides to have but only lobby itself,
And home and eden don’t have a elder so I think that’s funny,
The elder of eden is probably just named eden cause we can see statues of him everywhere,
I think they wanted to save eden.
And by the toxic water, just looking at it makes me feel like it came from the clouds, raining something toxic that mixed with the sand, or maybe some dropped the light accidentally in water,
Could’ve survived though.
Eden probably was doing something with the Diamond, and accidentally broke it,
Unable to heal it with light since he doesn’t have light,
Normally will get from a spirit or a child.
And maybe the Diamond broke and spread a corruption around the town,
Causing buildings, pillars, many breaking apart,
Leaving trails behind, and spirits wanting to send you a message from the very start trying to warn what lies in the truth of the elders.
If you want long theories, the lore tumbr is good for that
tumbr with no l,
I like to look through but the fan art and lore would be too far so I rather see in Discord ;_;
YEAH, SKYBLR IS VERY LORE yknow
I wish I would read
But I hate books so
The Eden elder is King/Prince.
King-Resh
Prince-Alef
Dang a prince
Next chapter of sky will probably be seeing a little child asking for help
Wait we see the king/prince statues all over the places? Like any specific places because I probably never noticed them
I somewhat think the Diamond is the problem that everything became corrupted,
And I mean you all see the elders love the light,
And become wild with it except the vault one.
Maybe they used it all for hope,
Because mostly, in the pictures I think they wanted to live above clouds,
Idk
They look like they wanted to
And collected light
Diamonds are the light,
And maybe it’s blessings.
I think we all had seen it, anything that shapes like a sharp star Diamond thing looks like the eden guy lol,
And sorry to steal someones image.
We don’t know if they are the same person or not.
And yes, I saw a very good theory on this season and the elders somewhere
I don’t know, I think darkness can duplicate random goop
Ohhhh yeah I remember seeing those I didn’t realize they were statue of that guy.
How come they never added him? They couldn’t add a elder cut scene of a moth trying to save him but him ultimately rejecting the light?
||STARING AT THE TIME THAT ITS 3:24 AM AND IM HUNGRY
AND HAVENT SLEPT YET
IVE ATE TOO MUCH COFFEE JELLY, NOOO||
Anyway, time to proceed.
I mean, the Diamond looks like the king’s toy or well, something special.
We also see the diamonds in the vault first floor where u have to open some kind of door.
We see many like vase pot stuff too and I don’t understand why there was one gold.
And maybe the Diamond just represents a icon of the king.
Ever thought that the light we use and collect for flying looks like they’re touching something?
I think the most common theory is that the Diamonds are a power source made from darkstone
Ye 🤔
why rebirth and touchy big red stone?
It's an endless cycle of trying and failing to save eden
The stars/wing lights you mean? I noticed they are always looking up at the sky at something but understood why
I think they’re like trying to hold something, or means it’s pointing something directly from the sky,
Well some wing lights have poses doing that,
Probably reaching for something,
We also see those in the eye of eden death thing too.
But it’s winged light,
And it’s always near somewhere bright sometimes, like near the sky or somewhere high.
Like it’s absorbing the suns light or, idk.
It’s surprising to see that they still exist in eye of eden, and wasteland,
When I somewhat think now they aren’t supposed to exist.
I somewhat think in a alternate way that rebirth could mean the winged light are just memories of a old sky kid traveling to save the world,
Or maybe guiding you.
basically, stealing people’s lives to get stronger Kinda sounds scary.
Perhaps if all of the winged lights are pointing up they're pointing to orbit?
Orbit?
Orbit who?
If the spirits all died a long time ago and they were the only adults but we relive their memories to understand what happened, the players are the only children left alive forced on a unless mission of trying to save eden and failing each time, each rebirth resetting the players memory and forcing them to save eden again
@hushed steeple Orbit is the place you go after you die in eden
so its some sort of terrible purgatory? always doomed to fail?
Wait, it’s called ORBIT?!
I’ve gotta tell my bestie that doesn’t exist n this server,
We rp as fandom characters so I have to put in that brb
No matter how many you save the world can never go back to how it used to be
ever get Undertale vibes from that
https://sky-lore.tumblr.com/?amp_see_more=1
You shouldn’t need the app for this link
https://bricky-brikson.tumblr.com/post/652578904402477056/coughs-and-dies-so-im-a-beta-tester-and-the
Link for the Prince season theory, it’s not beta spoilers now.

I would assume so, and like biscuits mentioned how some of the Qing lights look like they’re pointing to orbit.
I can only think that those could be the pass lives of the player trying to warn them about the unless cycle, and in eden when you give said wing light to them, it could be the players pass lives who all failed
日本人の方いますか?
One thing I noticed while in eden with a few other players was that when m and another died the last player could actually see our skykids as statues separate from the existing ones
ああ、はいますよ、
でもみんな英語喋るんだよね。。
If we use said theory of the status of other children in eden, and why your statues would appear separate from the others, probably because the player knows that those new statues weren’t it’s own life
That makes sense
sad to think that the players are forever stuck in a cycle of trying to save eden
Sky is inspired by the themes in Journey, though are not directly related.
Sky has an open theme (open to interpretation), a Journey of life.
You can read more about in the pinned lore docs.
Take your time going over the lore, most of it are fan theories, so you can share your thoughts as well.
Yes please take everything we say here unless proven by tgc as a theory
Theory a game theory
Someone might wanna get skybot to ask @hushed steeple to got to sleep
hi guys
Nvm i found them
Hello!
Guys sorry if it's off the actual topic, but remember the manta-like creature we see in the first moments of the Switch Trailer? It has an interesting and familiar light. Remember that krills are corrupted?
No even though I’m hungry at 3 AM 💀
The only issue with that idea is their bodies look so drastically different
Also I don’t know if it is cannon or not but did each different locations represent different parts of life for example:
Isle of dawn: birth
Daylight Prairie: childhood
Hidden Forest: teenhood
Valley of Triumph: adulthood
Wasteland: mid life crisis
Vault: old age
Eden: death
Orbit: rebirth
Sorry, I haven’t really actually watched the trailer but I might watch it a few hours later after my sleep.
And, holy papi, that looks creative and genius as a simulation of the circle of life
The manta-tee thing in the trailer, is totally a krill. Even in the storyboard it had beautiful krillish horns. I WANT THEM TO STILL HAVE THE HORNS!
Hopefully we can purify a krill at some point maybe in a future season
first ZanPartizan now this, Why do golden horns in concept art never make it to the final product?
Wish we can go to other islands and see a mega bird even though I don’t know what it is,
But if krills exist, I wonder if there’s like a whale or anything like that :’|
A good boy krill, Krillian redemption arc
But they're kinda similar. Has many paws? Check! Has an characteristic light? Check! It has the same proportions? CHECK. (Well, this if we assume that the ones travelling on it have the same size as skykids
The one in the switch trailer has wings but they do line up pretty well
Krillian and spot are really good friends
Oh I wish
Do you guys think the seasons are canonical to the world of sky
I mean, it was discussed that they weren’t always spiky and that is due to the corruption
Imagine purifying the toilet krill
Its iffy. Sunglasses are not canon. Prophecy murals are the entirety of canon.
Redemption arc lets gooo
Mega bird is sort of like a divine deity of the game.
You can find a mural of it in the secret portal to Office, in Vault of Knowledge (in the water pond around the portal). As well as in Orbit, just look up and you will see it in the stars.
The credits that play at the end of a play through also shows the same megabird image in orbit.
Hope this helps.
the Golden Megabird is just HOLY BEAUTIFUL 🫀
As for a whale, there is an elder manta in Sanctuary island, in Daylight Praire.
A cosmic manta in one of the levels in Vault.
And there are whales in the game, you can see them in the caves under hidden forest, in the clouds between the end of Valley of Truimph and towards the social area of Golden Wastelands, and lastly on the way to Orbit.
there are whales,
< those i think
Elder mantas are different tho
To get a closer look of the whales I recommend going below the Sunny Forest Caves via OOB
And talking about Elder Mantas... it's interesting, the elder manta is likely marine.. since other mantas are not.
Concept art mantas
Sorry for the ping
And this rlly cool guide
This is a theory mostly so yeah
Maybe the reason why we don’t see the prince/king in eden is maybe because the player is the rebirth of him, being reborn with no memories except with a feeling of needing to restore light and try to fix things, like how the player always returns to eden in hopes of restoring it, if the player was the rebirth of the prince/king maybe he felt bad for what he’s done and now is in an endless cycle hopelessly trying to fix the damaged he caused
🥰 thank you
i am stealing this thanks
I've seen my Resh videos in so many unexpected places, idk how you guys circulate these
I always see this type of talk about a king/prince is there anywhere to find similar info? I looked in youtube but didn’t find it. I wanna learn what the king did
Not really sure where to find info on the prince/king I don’t think there’s much cannon info on him
Yeah most king info is from concept art and story outlines. The only way to see him in game are the statues of him in wasteland.
There's no info on anything
I mean there is some cannon info we know on the game but I’m pretty sure they leave it open for players to discuss a lot about theories and stuff
Honestly i used to think that we were the rebirthed version of the king/prince and still think its a solid theory. But i now personally think that we are a completely new generation, but we are just picking up the leftovers of the king. Imo the reason the king cannot be saved anymore is that their soul was ripped apart into tiny pieces (kings wl flying around the realm after explosion, last child possibly king? sitting in diamond) to the point their soul cannot be saved and sent to orbit. So us skids are just picking up those peices to survive. When we hug that child in eden, we are using the last bits of the king to be able to go back to orbit and also bring back "The Fallen* there as well. Hopefully this makes sense
It would be kinda funny if we had a crab cape, and if used with the
emote the krills would think we're krebs
it wouldnt do much with being seen and targeted but probably if you do it before and the krills passes over you
idk if this is lore but do you think skykids sense things through their life force (flame/light) ? you can only see and hear other skykids if you’ve shared light with them via candle, do instead of “seeing” and “hearing”, you’re able to sense them as a light connection?
judging from some old concept art, we are a combination of Ancestor, creature, and flame. It is concept though, so it’s not really canon, but it is safe to say we might not be the exact same being as the ancestor spirits
Well, their eyes are closed so I'd assume they see and communicate through calls or their light.
For example, talking through text is just a call of some sort that you understand as letters.
Lighting other people is just a connection that lets you see them.
I think the fact that skids have no intelligence (stated by someone way back) could lead into this. There is little to no text in the game and it is just pictures.
If we are going on the topic of if why skykids look the way they do still being canon from the concept art reasons, I think the way they look the way they do is still why they look the way they do, lore wise. Its mostly visual language anyway.
I believe it's reasonable to assume skykids do see in some way. Otherwise the vast amount of visual emotions wouldn't make much sense. Or they have any other sense of perceiving form and movement of their surroundings (like an echolot maybe?)
Helloooo
Uh are we allowed to talk about the new season?
And lore about it?
Idk, I'm pretty new here >w<
Oof well welcome!
heya
Alloo
Guess we the only talking here--
But anyways
I want to see a lore discussion about the season of lp
for the lore moths, do you know why the spirits have chains? (fan theory, not confirmed canon)
I just entered the minus and plus Cape room through a bug, finally I should say ahahah, I used to think that it's not fair to have a room only for switch users but now that I've seen it inside I'm not so upset anymore
Respectfully, the area is a nice nod to the new players, though agree that it is very small, also segmented off for players.
I think the Switch area is an plot hole in the lore, since it is just a nod to the platform.
It would be funny if switch players would spawn there as if it is their home space.
That would be awesome, also it would be funny if it was a bit bigger in order to let switch players have more fun
new theory.
Would the little prince meet an elder?
maybe they would meet the eden elder, the other prince
That would be cool.
I wonder though, how would the elders react to the little prince.
Would the little prince lose interest because they are adults?
maybe? he might be somewhat interested in the valley elders, though
yeah, he's fine with some adults
In the latest quest, I couldn't help but think the prince let slip his meta knowledge by breaking the fourth wall a bit.
In one of his interactions, he was shushing to the camera, not the skykid. That was either a hiccup in my game, or an intended gesture.
Also, I was curious how the prince did not once notice or acknowledge the spirits in the whole island of sanctuary.
Here I though the prince would ask about them. Though on the other hand, he did not seem to notice the spirits in starry desert to be spirits.
which begs the question, does the prince not know the characters are ghosts? Were they alive when the prince interacted with them and us skykids are just seeing the spirits' memory? Or does the little prince just ignore the fact that there are spirits?
In the books, the little prince never met a ghost/spirit.
The devs have stated we are neither the same or a different species than the elders of that helps
can you show the statement?
I’ll find it in a sec
https://youtu.be/UTqUZ_T1ccA
Livestream 7:
The Eden elder isn’t around to be saved anymore
Sky kids and elders aren’t the same or different species (hage note: subspecies probably)
Ah, I misremembered, sorry
Kinda the same thoughts I had
The exact quote there is "There used to be an Eden Elder... But now, there's nothing left to save"
Does that mean he died?
Its ok, I thought the skykids are sort of like a hybrid of light creatures and the ancestors.
As they are a creation by the megabird with the skykids looking like the ancestors.
I got this from the canon lore doc if you wanted to know
That is up for debate, though they are not present in the game in the same way as the other elders.
I like how skykids being reincarnations would boost the importance of rebirth......and explain why we put our friends on the crown and have
kingmask on our backs. Regardless hes still everywhere.
lol, the king sounds a lot like Gaster from Undertale.
A man that had a lot of power, built a machine, lost control of his creation and was removed from existence, though pieces of him still remained.
Though that would have been a coincidence.
That said, I also think the glowboys relate to him. Maybe it was more than just the soul split or something.
@forest marten what if he met u
Oh wait he already did, and quite intimately might I add 😏😏
Side question, are the valley twins related? Like, family type of stuff?
They share a strong bond with each other.
Though the elders are a bit different from the ancestors.
What I understand about the elders, they are not born, but brought into existence.
That said, it makes the twins related to each other because they both rule over the same realm.
Ah, okii. Ty UvU
Don't bring up the incident
Was it really an incident tho-
what are you guys uhhh talking about
Look in sky memes 👀

YOU POSTED IT IN SKY MEMES?!?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You betcha
so do skykids know about the King and Prince? the only references to them in game are the tops of the Fortress towers in GW
first of all i am concerned that yoh posted an unedited screenshot in #sky-memes— /hj
Cool!
belonging might have something to do even with the realms

#completed-sky-fanart-and-creations message
Thanks for the suggestion.
Would this count as getting Resh'd?
probably
Ahhh wow!!! This is so cool!!
The King looks amazing, and you did a great job drawing the creatures (they look accurate the game’s depiction, and they have a great sense of movement). I like the way the color shifts from light to dark. Nice job with the perspective too—I like how we see the Prairie elder from behind with the king as the focal point
And PE has his hand on a manta
Cute!
Though dang looks like they’re gonna have one heck of a stand off
Edit: and I should have mentioned: I love how ominously cool the King’s pose is, with him pointing and all. You done diddly lost your living privileges vibe
You put a lot of detail in it too—I’m gonna take my time zooming up to see the texture and shading on the krills!
Resh is practicing his OBJECTION! pose
You know, this image is really giving me Sauron vibes
Now, what do you think got the King mad at the Prairie Elder?
oh wow. And I never thought about the king in control of Krill forces. Eep, scary.
Hi
Hullo!
You are still alive?
Ok so, while your talking about connecting the trailer to the realms, have you ever tried brightning the black screens for each transition?(If there is any)
Like in thode horror indie games!
/i dont think there is any
A-
How about the black screens ingame?
(Ik most of them is white)
But try inverting thr colors, and THEN find the message?
/hmm, well, tgc isnt the type that hides msg, and iirc, someone tried it before us
Ah-
Ok-

My shop is about to go to bankruptcy and beyond
As a result of certain decisions made by mods
What happened?
oh god
Cool
But they are like the size of a butterfly
At least they work
Do you have a photo of the boats you’re selling?
Oki
found em
/found what?
idk but the king
I should try to visit the temples often now because it looks like there’s more :]
Ohhh that
Hello
lol, did the king and his diamond symbols became the Sky's version of illuminati symbols?
Possibly
Hi lore channel
Probably doesn’t include in the lore,
But these do look sus
Idk
In terms of the first image, it's pretty much shown in the laughing light catcher's memory those are used to "catch light"
Though the isle elder also seems to have a similar staff
Oh thank you,
and I do agree about the fact that the daylight elder and the Dawn elder do are similar.
and that one spirit who tried to catch some light too 🤔
Those are old firework staffs.
The laugh spirit confirms using them to catch light.
They are called firework staffs because that is what the skykids uses them for.
Well they get it from that on wasteland spirit I think
I’m planning to buy it,
But how much is it?
20 hearts
Oh damn, nvm but thanks for the info
The staffs could have multiple uses.
So they could be like magic staffs thatvlets spirits cast spells.
A firework is a spell that skykids can get at the shops. Though the staff lets you cast them for free and up to 5 times before it needs to recharge (cooldown).
yup, best start saving up.

So.. the realms in sky get more technically advanced as you go higher at the kingdoms of clouds.
GW not considered because you go down
I wouldnt necessarily say so, because Wasteland has pipes
It is the only realm with plumbing besides Eden
Well it still has war damage so it's kinda in a recovering state(or worsening),I think I'm referring about the state of the realm economically or financially.
Yeah, as well as the state of mind
Is it alright to make a map of the cloud kingdoms as a whole
munches popcorn
/yes do much the popcorn
In 3020,the lore chat slow-mo will become 1 year
True 😂
So, I wanna get into Sky lore, because ever since I entered the Golden Wasteland, I was fascinated by the tonal shift.
Let's start by talking about that right?
It felt like a lore dump while keeping said lore vague.
We go from this dead yet preserved Kingdom, high in the clouds, into this... barren, sickly green, seemingly uninhabitable desert. It's ground level unlike most of the game, we can tell by the clouds being high above rather than nearby to you, we see an ocean of polluted water, and actual boneyards with Krill floating everywhere hunting for anything that gives off light.
This is also an area where we seem to see actual sewage pipes, explaining the tons of dangerous water.
There is even an abandoned battlefield, the spirits are all in more seemingly dire situations and many have a militaristic feel about them. Even the Elder of this realm is seen as fighting off something when you first meet them, and the complete constellation at the end of the Vault shows the Elder seemingly leading troops to war.
This whole aesthetic continues into Eden, which doesn't give off a war feeling... it feels more like a singular tragedy rather than a war. It's absent from the Vault, as the Vault is seemingly just a building between the Wasteland and Eden, within the chaos. Safe inside, dangerous on the outside.
I've heard theories about the Krill, some saying they're war machines meant to target anything made of light, but in that case who made them? We know the Spirits when they were alive were targeted by them, thanks to what happens when reliving the Stealthy Survivor's events, who gets seemingly targeted by a Krill. So they wouldn't have... why would things of Light warring against each other make something which can harm their own troops, right? Perhaps, they were warring with something against the Light? Perhaps the enemies were targeting Eden? The Wastes are quite close to it after all...
Anybody else have any theories on what war was being fought here?
The most popular theory on that is the two shields theory. It originated from the fact that in GW we see two types of shields, with either a sun or diamond motif. It is believed that people with the diamond motif fought for the use of power diamonds while those with the sun were against it. In this theory, one of the main points of interest is speculating which side the Wasteland Elder was on
Ooooo
Now this is new to me, I'm interested in this theory.
As @sharp latch said, there are plenty of theories going on in the Golden Wastelands. To name a few off the top of my head:
The two shield thoery
The weapon size being too big for spirits, but about the size for elders
The valley paddles of the elders are similar to the blades of the diamond shields.
The krill are corrupted (confirmed canon in a live stream)
A spirit did serve the diamond shields (as seen by the statue next to the catapult with a blade and diamond shield near it)
The crabs are edible, despite being supposedly corrupted (fire place in graveyard has big crabs on a rotisserie)
There used to be ginormous light creatures in the graveyard supposedly called Whurtles (whale-turtles)
There was a second diamond producing building similar to the one in the hidden forest's temple, now destroyed.
There is a forgotten ark in the desert, which could have transported elders
and that is all I can recall.
Well, as for the crabs being edible despite being corrupted we do know that Spirits can consume things which normally seek to harm light. Seen with the Soldier in Starlight Desert who drinks Dark Water, straight. Although it has an effect on them similar to having consumed alcohol in real life.
There are also many diamond aesthetics I've noticed in the previous kingdoms, too, more star shaped things rather than sun shaped things. The many things which you need to light in order to activate something, coming to mind.
As for the Krill, it's good to know the war machine theory has been denounced, it always bothered me. Made no sense.
About there being more diamond motifs all around the kingdom of sky, i think it has to do with the King
they don't really have a part in your journey as a skykid, but you can see their influence throughout all the realms bc they had an important role in the past. This role, however, is still highly debated upon.
Correct me if I'm wrong
Isn't the theory on the King that they're the kid you meet after having sacrificed your light in Eden, before regaining it temporarily?
The King seems to be in despair, when we see the full constellation of The Light, the one meant to connect you to other Children of Light, your friends and the constellation seemingly belonging to Eden.
Some may think that that kid is the prince
But some also believe that the prince and the king are one and the same
Ok time to write a whole essay on a theory I have
Also... it just occurred to me... what is the last Elder you meet holding?
It's something which looks like a star...
Most others have something physical, a staff, a jar, a hammer and anvil, paddles, a spear and shield, and a crown.
But that last one is weird, because it's not a normal everyday object...
What if that's a diamond.
It always seemed odd and out of place, just this... cube that's on it's edge. But if it were a diamond...
Then it would just click into place with all we've seen, right?
The diamond thingy could also be seen during the Hidden Forest Elder's cutscene
And I also never understood the diamond thingy... both the Hidden Forest Elder and Vault Elder cutscenes imply that you placing your light into the diamond is required or important for... something. And then the diamonds float up after they're lit, too
So once upon a time where only one realm existed The Golden Wasteland And in that realm two kingdom existed The Light Kingdom And The Dark Kingdom The Dark kingdom Damaged The light kingdoms warriors And those warriors were The sky Kids The Dark king took the away the warriors Light causing the Sky kids becoming Corrupted and why he does this you may ask? Well he does this to make them corrupted in order to make them Work for him instead of working for the light kingdom soon later on the light kingdom now rules but the dark king still hasn't been found till this day so my theory is what if he's hiding in one of his statues in wasteland you see statues of him so what if he's just hiding there.... Preparing for war and maybe that's the reason why wasteland barely has any source of light because war happened there and the king is hiding there so the king brings darkness with him
elder cinematics are metaphoric in nature, they show symbols or symbolizes implications. wat they couldve been holding or doing might not mean anything in a literal sense, but be wondered in a bigger frame
the diamond being put back together in teth's cinematic could be projecting other story
Well, how many two player doors and bridges are there which require light to be placed inside of something with a diamond shape in order to operate, right? It can't be too farfetched that these diamond-like things are important devices to the Elders which require light. There's even a diamond which helps elevate a platform which needs to be pieced together and powered by light to operate
who knows maybe the cinematic represents not just them, but the entirety of their realm
Both of your thoughts make sense
Which livestream confirmed Krill corruption?
its in the 2nd year anniversary qna somewhere in the timestamps but the quote is, "How they looked before corruption- time will tell"
So, to summarize what I've learned today.
It's likely, the Golden Wasteland was a battleground and central hub of operations for a war between those who were on the side of diamonds, and those were on the side of the sun.
The bones are probably left over from large creatures of light called Whurtles.
Spirits can safely(?) consume corrupted materials.
As to what side the characters are on we aren't sure yet, but I lean on the idea the Spirits and Elders were on the diamond side.
The Krill aren't war machines and are actually a corrupted animal, perhaps caused by the pollution? They were also corrupted when the War was going on.
The War likely only ended when the stars fell, or perhaps helped trigger the stars falling.
The Vault Elder might be holding a diamond.
Diamonds at the very least, were valued for their use as utility in the kingdom of Sky.
Still much to learn but at least it's a little less foggy. That's a good start.
confirming krills are corrupted and arent natural dark spawns
Was about to ask what counts as a natural dark spawn but then i remembered the weeds
And probably the shadows in the trial of fire but that's another topic for another day
theres no real dark spawns currently in the game, everything else is either corrupted or dead
Or alive but I'm pretty sure The Little Prince's existence isn't entirely canon so
||Plus if we go by the actual story he prob won't stay that way-||
we dont even know if the lore itself is canon
Thanks @mossy rune for the link (via search)
At the 25 minute mark, the question was asked and answered.
Much appreciated 🎉💛
The little prince would be a crossover anomaly that exempts him from the lore. As in, he is not from sky because of the collab, so should not be considered to be part of the lore.
The spirits on the other hand has some reasons to be considered as part of the lore since they have similar features to other spirits we met, do not exactly match the story of the little prince and follow the same rules of the game as other spirits (are blue, have white hair, dark skin, interact with other spirits outside of the season, and allow skykids to relive their memories).
Even the spirit rose is considered to be an ancient spirit by the game.
I think that is a clever work around to the problem of including the little prince without breaking the lore of the game or the books.
I am sure when the season is over, the prince wont come back. :(
Yeah makes sense.
morning lore chat
I have come to the discovery, all sky kids are children of the Elders/the eden king. or somewhat related to them and our ancestors so basically
they are sending their own childern to their death in the game. great parenting.
gn, lore chT
Does anyone know what the werid stone on stilts that's under the village of dreams is supposed to be?
Could you send a screenshot pls?
Why is no one paying attention
Wait wrong channel
What's the story behind Eden?
Hello and welcome to my very bad explanation of what the season has to do with the Elders and The Prince/King, based on the changes between the book and season, as well as characterisation. Based on Bricky Brickston’s theory I have sent earlier on.
Narcissist- Outfit, arena - Valley
Bookworm- reading not writing - Vault
Lamplighter- Actually conflicting orders rather than a change in world- Wasteland or Isle
Soldier- Is a soldier & Darkwater rather than Alcohol - Prairie or Wasteland
King- Has statues (of king) - Wasteland?
Collector- Not much difference but actually takes stars rather than owning them - Forest
Prince - ? - Prince
Thank you for coming to my TED talk
Second link leads to the original theory, although it was made during this seasons beta. There are no quest spoilers
Dw, I've had that happen to me alot back then too
Your the first person to even reply to my message
starlight desert lowkey looks like that one part in switch trailer
Seriously now, the idea of the king possibly hiding in one of those statues is giving me more reasons to not cr in the wasteland
There is no official story, but a lot of theories. The main idea is that the King (Eden Elder) tried to make a giant power source using darkstone but it failed, big time
Lmao sorry
why not, he'll give u a big hug then huzzah, ur converted
Which bit? Also King propaganda lets go!
Come over to the darkness
this
Oooooo
I also had another theory why the instrument place where you change your instrument ect why the stairs are repaired with gold and who has gold alot? Wasteland so wasteland is a very quiet place.... Perfect for playing your instrument so maybe the dark king made it so that sky kids play the instrument in wasteland cause it's the perfect place and the dark king will get ready to krill ya (cause he can hear you playing the instrument)
Nah Eden is further away in the second picture there
ingame content isnt 1:1 with the real sky world scale either, or atleast some places seems closer cus of the magic white screen teleportation
I know. Also that second picture looks really pretty even though it's not a real place in game
The king is kinda sus
Something interesting I realised
The switch trailer is set “Before the stars fell” which if I’m not mistaken means no elders ,although it might mean before the elders lost power, but if it’s no elders then why is he didn’t have why does Eden have the Light pillar and and they have like floating boats and stuff. Either way this means that they had the pillar before Elders lost power and corruption took hold
Is that what that big stone in the middle of Eden is
The Red Crystal?
Yes, the big one that you can see at the end of eden
Digressing from that.
The beam in the temples means they are being tended to and the elders have a connection to them.
Just like a skykid is leaving flames as offerings to the elders, the ancestors left their own offerings to maintain a connection to the elder.
With no connection to the elder, the region would suffer and fall to ruin.
While skykids dont get to restore the whole area, they do manage to fix small things, such as bring the mantas back to the village in daylight prairie, stop the rain near the temple in forest, activate the elevator in vault.
Even though these are positive changes, they are not permament, so the skykids need to repeat the same actions to temporarily improve the area.
As for the stars. I think those represent us, skykids.
We arrive in sky as a falling ball of sparkling light, we gather pieces of light that were once called stars (in past updates), and we ascend to orbit, just to come back and do it over again.
In a way, us skykids are like stars.
Perhaps the megabird sending down skykids means that the stars have to fall. But the thing is, the stars dont have to be gone forever, they can always come back.
Hence why we have our own constellation of stars that are our friends.
I watched a yt vid where someone oobed and got really close to it.
Seemed more like torn fabric
A tear in the fabric of space time perhaps?
Jkjk
because ancestors are the original inhabitants, they already existed even before the elders fell and already had their form of tech or magic, or maybe thats natural. eden is wat connects the spirit from the light, thats why its considered sacred
but when the elders fell, each established their subjects into wat we currently see now
why they fell is still unclear, common theory is they were lost and exiled
its interesting that they emphasized "before the stars fell" at the start tho, so i think that has a great part on the whole picture
Where did the elders come from?
Codes
Well yeah
but in lore where did they come from
theoritically, theres no lore and were basically creating it ourselves, so elders dont exist
A big old bird layed them as eggs
Personal theory.
Based on the old lore, they used to be ancestors that were chosen to become elders. That would make them like demigods.
However, since the lore changed, I am not sure where the elders came from, how they came into being other than they simply exist.
Maybe the megabird brought them into existence, or the king.
It might not be impossible if the ancestors themselves played a part in how the elders came into being
I think the megabird created them to keep over the rebirth cycle. Admittably, not as eggs, but that would be funny right? Theres concept murals of Megabird “granting Prince flame” and flame in this game usually equates to soul.
What if there were many elder-like ancestors before the other subsidiary ancestors came into existence and they had to win in a competition in order to become elders, to be chosen by the prince? Then the prince probably gave the elements to the newly appointed elders as shown in the Prophecy murals and thus giving them specific roles and areas to rule over, and the elders later gained smaller people to perform smaller tasks in each realm
/iirc, the elders where said to "came into existence" seems like they weren't related to ancestors, but might the prince duplicated himself using the orbs?
Maybe
Ah, which Spirit Memory is this? I don’t remember seeing it (or I’ve just slept since then)!
/laughing person
The laughing spirit is found near the far right stupa (bell tower) in the village are of daylight prairie. Right beside the doors with the butterflies.
That cutscene shows the ancestors catching light orbs wih staffs.
here it is
Yeah, I’m curious about what they did too. Seeing how at the end of the Forest elder cutscene, the ceiling-wheel-thing immediately starts working and the door opens, I suppose the diamonds simply worked as a power source? Same with Vault: the final diamond might’ve been needed to power up the final memory-wall-thing and bring the sky kid to the top of the Vault. Idk.
Seeing how our experience in this Vault is ambiguous, seeming to be a mixture of reality and a dream, perhaps with enough of these power sources, you can bend reality somehow (or make illusions or something).
Or maybe the stuff in Vault are more akin to holograms and the like.
literally going to be my new headcanon
Ahhh, don’t remind me what final sequence we might have to go through 🐍
/is the staff some sort of battery thing? they can store light, but when used by sky kids the staff has more light than it needs, so result is an explosion
I'd say it directs stuff made of light
like how the isle elder uses a staff to guide birds away or skykids guide exploding light toward a certain direction
as for why it explodes, I think it's an indicator of the childlike personality of skids
The staves can carry light and were used to put he butterflies in the pots, from which now sometimes grow dark spores but I’m not sure there is evidence of them storing or generating light as much as carrying or conducting it?
Ooh. That’s cool. Maybe the Elders had to go through similar Trials as the Prince might’ve
OHHH now I remember! I can’t believe I forgot about this!
OH AND THEY ARE PUTTING THEM INTO THE JAR. Gosh, I’m so dumb—I’ve been wondering what the purpose of the jars are for a while and the answer was right in front of my nose
So I guess those orbs are stars (they remind me of the light orbs that come off of candles)
(Thanks for the help, guys!)
Haha, what? That the King is akin to Bill? XD
Always watching
Maybe the spores indicate that light can “spoil”. Maybe when it’s kept in the dark too long?
Perhaps the mixture of light in darkness creates the flowers! (Which funny enough, they look a bit like fungus to me. Fungus are usually decomposers, so perhaps those flowers play a similar role in the ecosystem. Maybe they help release light back to the heavens, or back into the “soil”?).
/what about butterflies?
Okay so now w elbow jars store light orbs and butterflies
But why would the Ancients want to store butterflies...? Take them somewhere? We use them for charging our capes and to get to high places. Perhaps they charged stuff too? I don’t think they could use them for the latter option, since I don’t think they could fly
I think they’re more implied to be something negative akin to a plague, also light seems to be able to complete its cycle by itself — shown by the light creatures all journeying towards the Orbit. In the forest, some Mantas are stuck in those darkness flowers, effectively preventing them from completing their cycle, and probably feeding on them to grow. Ultimately I think those flowers aren’t as helpful as decomposers, they are rather a sickness to be purified by way of burning
what I'm interested in is the shape of jars
so far I've found 4 kinds of different jars,
- a regular stone jar with flat walls
- a stone jar with diamond symbols
- a really elongated regular stone jar
- regular stone jar with rounded corners
1 is seen everywhere, in the prairie storage room, in the ark, and it also appears in the cutscene where the spirit is drinking dark water.
2 is seen in laughing spirit's cutscene, where spirits are shown guiding light orbs into them and also in prairie elder's cutscene where he stores a butterfly in.
3 is less common and I've only seen them in the prairie temple and in the big starlight desert boat
4 is also found in the starlight desert boat and somewhere else but I can't recall
JINX
(Argh why is this cool down so long now
)
Ahh, good point...maybe they used to be something helpful but got corrupted? Or like you said, simply a result of the corruption.
The staffs seem to work as a way to channel magic or allow the ancestor to handle magical orbs.
It may be a tool for them to use magic in a similar way the need an axe to chop down a tree.
Ooh, interesting!! I never paid attention to their varying sizes
I think it’s clear that the diamond ones are related to the creation of power sources, the diamonds. They would collect light and put them in the stone vessels the Forest inhabitants created
Now if butterflies are stored in those jars too...they serve a similar purpose I suppose. But what? (Gosh please don’t let it revive the crushed butterfly theory
)
/now let us walk around that topic
I really hope not but then... why did they trap them in windowless jars and ship them to forest? 😭
Is it good to have them around? Like, they help the ecosystem, so they import them??
/yk, they might have invented covers (red ones) to keep the lights from turning into spores
kinda like how pickling works?
yk, you put light in, you pickle them into butterflies, iff not covered properly they turn into spores
So we are saying that light orbs can generate into butterflies? I know all the creatures in Sky ARE made of light, and I remember somewhere someone mentioned that TGC said that creatures are born of light, and made of it, similar to atoms and molecules making up our bodies
ooh, that might explain how the spirit drew light orbs from passing birds
So creatures can just spontaneously generate anywhere?? Or is their process of generation more organic I.e. sexual reproduction? We know that birds (or was it mantas) lay eggs (or at least that’s what the Chinese lore doc intimated. Might not be canon then)
I think they confirmed that sometimes when you see some creatures like birds or mantas emerge from clouds, it's because they are born from light converging in that spot
I also mentioned earlier the idea of light “spoiling”. Never thought of picnicking tho lol! Interesting...
Then what are elder creatures then? Are they a different breed altogether?
and what about dark creatures? Maybe they were turned immortal as they were corrupted and do not need to reproduce?
They are related to what Sky kids are, but not the same afaik
(Uh I think I said something bad by accident. My message just disappeared
)
I was saying that I suppose this means that light creatures don’t have babies
it's because the topic of reproductive habits tends toward directions that should be avoided here, so please limit yourselves on this topic
It was said in a stream that a Sky kid cannot ever become an Elder, implying they are fundamentally different regarding their nature
and yeah it seems that in the world of Sky there is no "reproduction", just birth, journey, death and rebirth rinse and repeat
Oh I see. I wasn’t gonna try to go anywhere further than that
I was mentioning reproduction in the scientific way, and want gonna go into any...other details
I understand, but when the topic is raised, there's often someone without the maturity or self-control to filter continuing thoughts on the subject
I guess I’m a bit disappointed since I imagined a sweet manta couple nurturing hatchlings in a nest or something
one an assume the ancestors have family pretty much along the same lines how human civilisation would have (fatyer protects, mother cares for the children, etc.)
The light creatures life cycle is a bit obscure. It may be because their life cycle is disrupted, hence why we dont see then grow up (though could also be a game limitation).
Have you seen my crab?
Yeah, I understand. Thank you for letting me know. And I won’t broach upon the topi. Anymore
Sorry skybot, not sure where it went. Though would shout to let you know.
Yeah, the Ancients definitely had family units 🙂
Yeah...but we know they have a similar lifecycle to us skids in a way
Though the fact that the Elders cannot be restored, and the changes the Sky kids bring to the world are minimal and ephemeral, it leads me to this question -- isn't it all just delaying the inevitable? Like prolonging the life of something that is dying? We can't fully purge the corruption, so are we stuck in limbo? I'm still pretty new to Sky and I might be misinformed, but to me it looks like the castle above the eye of Eden is perpetually decaying, maybe someone tried to stop the life cycle of light and that lead to corruption spreading?
As this is a game that emphasizes on connections and bonding, I think tgc would've included scenes of light creature families if it was canon, but seeing how they portray only spirit families and not creature ones, I think it's clear that light creatures are simply created of and dissolve into light
RIGHT I AM WONDERING THIS TOO. And I don’t think it could be this way at all though, since the game is so optimistic and hopeful. It’d fly into the face of its themes I think
Hmm...
I am not sure.
If an ancestor can be reborn, they would not need families.
Skykids never ages, are fire proof and able to survive fatal hits from red rocks.
A skykid is likely not human to my understanding.
nod nod
Though I guess then those eggs in the Forest or simply there as “Easter eggs” then
Oops sorry, I meant to say that the animals have similar life cycles to skids
My bad.
Sky kids are definitely not human, and their life depends on their inner light, or the light another can provide (hug scene in Black Room). As for the red rocks I got utterly destroyed by getting stuck on one in Eden so idk (lol)
Yeah... I wonder what's the point of restoring light around the kingdom and saving the fallen children in eden is, when nothing changes in the end and skids are forever trapped in the cycle?
Restoring light does... practically nothing except for acquiring memories of some spirits that would not matter if it wasn't uncovered.
Some positive aspects come from reliving those memories, like in the Forgotten Ark and how it restores the landscape and brings forth the shops
I remember one person on here saying that the point was not to save Eden but to repopulate the world
And we save the spirits from being stuck in limbo. We help them get to heaven.
And in return, skids learn to be more “human”, observing and practicing empathy. (Like how kids observe their parents to learn and grow)
True, though you would take the hit like a champ and did not die in one hit.
Skipping past gruesome details, a squishy human would not survive a flying rock to the face in stormy weather.
True, and by forging bonds with them we are able to get more powerful wings in the next cycle, but ultimately it might allow us to save 3 or 4 additional stone kids in Eden before we ourselves are turned to stone so.... i think there is still a lot of room for debate as to the usefulness and underlying despair and futility of Sky kids' ordeal
Good things skids faces might be made of stone then
Hello lore chat what's the discussion about right now
I got the impression that sky kids are entirely made of something akin to stone or some kind of ore, given the "ping" when we hit something or the noise it makes when we walk on ice
I still don’t think it’s futile though. Maybe perhaps we are missing the point...maybe it looks like a vain cycle, but the spiritual meaning to it IS something greater..?
Edit: I mean IS not isn’t. Argh cool down is so loooonggggg
whyyyyyy
I’m just gonna keep typing until this is donnnne
I always imagined their masks were wooden
To me it looks like we go through the cycle over and over, get more experienced, meet new people and friends and become able to guide new people through the world
@torn reef Yet they have stone look to them.
I mentioned this as a TGC dev stated a head canon of theirs that their masks might be stone
What if the skykids are made out of dark stone and were given life from flame?
Wood would be a bad idea given the fact that we regularly stand in fire
Free way to get the maskless mask
So I guess maybe the point of the journey is the friends we made along the way
The real winged lights were the friends we made along the way
I really get the impression that sky's message is that you can't do everything alone
So seeing this and our basic form we get when we get hurt, I suppose a skid is also made of shadow
That's an interesting thought, though i would argue that in that form it won't be long before we are sent right into the next cycle--
@gloomy osprey If this is true then the final test must come at some point right?
Light gives us form, life, and is our core or heart, so to speak
What happens if we have no wings and stand in rain past losing our flame?
@torn reef We ...uh...go to orbit..?
which I like to think the light we give via candles is our heart’s light
Giving our heart to save others-
the candle, that when we take out makes the bright spot disappear from the chest of sky kids, probably represents the soul, and i think that might be potentially supported by how when going to orbit we are shining brightly and no longer seem to carry the "husk" the physical body was
no one can see you crying in the rain...and when you have a shadow face
I think you're not far from the truth, and when we show each other our candles we reveal our physical form, maybe a "baring of the soul" to each other if you will?
no one can see you cry or smile behind the mask it's not about us personally it's about giving others that personality
OOH YES YES I LIKE THIS
As LP says, the body is just a shell
Hm
How much of little prince can we interpret as being true to the main sky world?
Yes!! This reminds me of what I discussed with someone else on here. Concept art showed names to the varying states: darkness forms of skids are “indifferent” while revealed—lightened—ones are “connected”. We appear unknown to someone in a darkness form, and usually e do so to remain anonymous as we want to go solo and not mess around with friends. Only when we choose to see each other via light do we make a connection
@dry ivy Draw me a butterfly!
@torn reef None. I don't think it really realtes at all and was just added for fun.
I internet the LP spirits as part of the world. And I like to think LP is more like an alien visitor. He is real, but he doesn’t reveal the lore of the world so much as he is just a visitor form another planet.
I think the spirits can be considered canon
Many of them had diamond symbols on various props or had similar outfits and general look of the regular spirits
I think it was said a while back that the spirits can be taken within the lore, as they are similar to other spirits, interact with and also aren't canonically relevant to Le Petit Prince
I dunno I just find it a little weird that eden is in the background of the desert if it's not a real place in sky
It is a real place in sky.
The spirit was studying eden I think? So it's not completely separated
I think the place is real, but the prince himself is just a "visitor" and there is something about "dream" that might be an excuse to explain the presence of Eden that is always in the back of our minds as something inevitable
I wish we could actually VISIT it instead of flying by it tho
@dry ivy Go to Eden then.
Don't walk towards eden in the desert your device will almost certainly set on fire
It would be nice if the castle of Eden was made into an actual location in the future, maybe containing some hints about the king
^yup. tried that today
I almost reached the boat but my switch lagged so much it couldn't even take screenshots
I did...and my figure just ZOOMED by it
tho maybe that was my joycon drift.
I know one can land on it via some hack, but that is obviously something outside of what TGC wanted us to do I.e. not part of the story
What if the eden mountain became an energy volcano and erupted skyward?
YES YES YES I HOPE SO

it's raining (dead) sky kids, hallelujah
coolio
the debris of the big red diamond will rain down on Sky and cause a second extinction
So at the end we fly into the red diamond and it's all clouds and stuff so is it really the eye of the storm?
I really wonder what that big red diamond or stone thing is
the funniest thing about starlight desert is that all of the spirits have some kind of tie to the regular sky world like boats and jars and diamond symbols but the beckoning ruler barely has any
it just has pillars and statues
Maybe the statues are connected with the GW? Someone mentioned that before I think
Also maybe the dude looked at the King and though “dang I want that job”
Some people call it the dark stone. I theorize it was a power source that used dark power instead of light. It’s more powerful, but harder to control, like nuclear energy
You lose your cape when you lose every winged light you had.
While you are unlit and capeless for a short time, you do a death animation (note this animation is not always visible to other players) and then shatter.
You dont go to otbit, but instead to the dark room under home. You accept a wl there and return home.
Also note, no statue would appear in your place anywhere except in eden's point of no return.
OH WOAH I never knew this could happen
probably this has no lore relevance, just a way to “game over”? I died like this in Eden itself before the final area and got reborn with 1 wing 🥲
that happens too even in eden, in the areas before pnr, right? So dying to reincarnate only works in pnr, the holy ground?
wait I didnt read msg above
What would the in game explanation be for this? Why wouldn’t you just go to Orbit? You haven’t earned the right yet..?
Sorry what’s pnr?
I did some testing about it.
Krills, crabs, water, rain and red rocks all give the same outcome.
Only in eden do you turn into stone.
That might be more of a game driven feature, because I assume that a skykid is not intended to die outside of eden, though can as they are not immortal.
Point of no return
pnr stands for point of no return!
I see... so eden is the holy ground then
Ahh yeah. Gotcha
So are we saying that skids can’t go into orbit unless they die on this holy ground? (And I mean this in-universe-wise, not gameplay wise)
Right, sorry, just not used to see the abbreviation
Yeah goes to show eden is the only place where sky kids truly “die”
Grown-ups love numbers... When you tell them you've made a new friend they never ask you any questions about essential matters. They never say to you ”What does their honk sound like? What games do they love best? Do they play with butterflies?” Instead they demand ”How old are they? How tall are they? How many candles do they make?” Only from these numbers do they think they have learned anything about them
Sorry, dude, but I think us lore skids fall into adult territory with how we quibble over the smallest lore details lol
Ehhh
I see it as more of a “one more chance” situation because you get only 1 WL regardless of how many ascended spirits you’ve helped? the black room might represent “near death”
At least according to the concept arts, that is. All lifeforms eventually go to the place to die and are reborn, and it has been that way before the storm.
Also what’s up with the GW (i hate it) why is it so gross? I know it’s supposed to represent getting old but still clearly it’s some sort of battlefield and is polluted beyond salvation, but by what
Interesting interesting. Reminds me of Journey: although I think it shows that you can die and go into “heaven” anywhere (there being grave stone markers EVERYWHERE), the fact that the Travelers go there to die as well as murals showing the Ancestors traveling there after the civil war intimates a similar life cycle
Ah I see, I see. Makes sense.
Well there’s that dark water everywhere. It makes me think of pollution caused by industrial processes. Industrial pollution.
there’s enough of that irl nooo i don’t want it to be that “simple”
A harsh reality. The stuff no one wants to talk about or look at.
Obviously the ancients didn’t care for the earth as they should’ve when doing something that created this waste. And this is something they probably fought over? Or they had to fight against the consequences of its effects (corrupt krill)
sorry this was in reply to the pollution of the GW
Well it looks like the pipes in gw may have spilt when they broke
It’s okay! And I gotcha. This is just all I’ve gleaned form discussions on here. It could be something completely different haha
What’s the topic
How dare you say that to GW
Topic is why GW is so stinky
I think a war broke out in wasteland because they couldn't decide whether to stop or not
Maybe creating or using the dark stone (that red rock) made a lot of this pollution. Or maybe they were USING the pollution for something?
Anyways, I’ll just copy and paste what I said yesterday-
The most popular theories are: Pollution and War
Wasteland is assumed to have a lot of low-class people and uh labor yknow so most of the productions of diamonds (which are made by crushing light creatures, in concept arts btw) are in there.
War, the most popular theory about the war stuff is the Two Shields Theory. Which is basically divided into 2 groups: The Sun Shield group did not like the fact you have to smush light creatures to make diamonds. The Diamond Shield group supported the productions of diamonds. Thus, the war started
Also, some people say that the war ended when krills appeared or one of the sides defeated the other
oh that’s very interesting thank you
Most people support the war theory because of all the weapons strewn about
SO THE CONCEPT ART DID SHOW THEM ACTUALLY CRUSHING LIGHT CREATURES???

which one?
I personally think maybe after the krill started to show up, and other creatures, they tried to defend gw (explaining the spikes around the temple thingy) but failed and the pipes got destroyed along with the rest of gw making it stinky and polluted.
WOULD THEY HAVE KILLED THE SKYKIDS FOR ENERGY? ARE WE HELPING THE BAD GUYS
OH WOAH! So this place was where they made the diamonds???

maybe they would
skykids have this unending flame that they can probably hook up to some apparatus and use as a power source
Yep, maybe that’s why the temple in forest and the 2nd place of GW looks familiar
But I’m not seeing any crushed animals
And we were just discussing that they probably put the light orbs they caught and put into jars into these diamonds
Neat how it’s called an artificial star though...! Makes ones think they had access to actual stats for power sources (does this mean the light orbs or something else entirely?)

I don’t like what this hints at
Well, maybe it can be light in general and yknow- wink wink
light creatures.
oh what the hell that’s what the spin thing is? but it’s so bright and golden uhdghffj also explains why there’s darkness growing there
Yeah, I immediately thought of the Forest elders temple. But idk if it still supposed to have this purpose or if TGC changed it into a mechanism that opens the doors to let the orange manta-birds out
UNLESS THE MANTAS WERE IN THERE TO BE USED FOR THE PROCESS OH GOSH

also this might be completely irrelevant but is the big robot walking around in the office clouds from another game of theirs? somehow rings a bell
Office (and everything in it) is an easter egg sadly
Castle in the Sky
maybe the forest elder takes the fire from the skykid to make a diamond, then sends it upwards into a switch to open the doors for the next realm?
Well, you can see the diamond in Vault’s cutscene and the diamond then projected the constellations I think? I don’t remember
Yeah what’s with the sending of the flame upwards
I can’t tel you how much I love this robot
Yeah that’s what I always interpreted it as
Yo guys how about those pictures in the start of dawn?
I think the diamonds that glow bright blue has to do with projections, bc the one vault elder was holding produced holograms and the one on top of the lamppost in starlight desert could produce bright light
Heyyy you know what purpose do you think the light house served within the world
what lighthouse?
The pictures in dawn said that “before the stars feel our light was infinite” that might mean that they didn’t have to refill their light with butterflies and fire and stuff like that
I'm not so sure, we don't even know who the superior of the lighthouse guy is... Maybe it was to guide the boats throughout the night? There isn't much info to use
ahh sorry for ping
i sort of don't get it because measuring numbers give me a sense of control in life, it also gives me an idea of something which is small in such a microscopic way it's hard to understand and also something which is gigantic in such a cosmic way it's also hard to understand. so ... im not good at math but numbers are so mythical and solves many things which the human mind cannot understand in its capabilities. numbers are so important to our life and some of our understanding even.
or is the little prince talking about something else? like the terror of monotoneness and reducing everything to statistics and human beings into IDs?
I think it means they don’t care about personality.
Dw about it, Skybot stuff are not related to lore since they are managed by the mods :D
Hi hi hi loreseekers :D-
yeah, though the little prince who said that.. i have thoughts about it
Is the story of the seasonal event unique to sky and just inspired by the book, or is it completely the same?
It's really vague what "stars" are, but I have a feeling they were the ancestors before they began having issues with corruption and the storm. I think the prime life they ever had, or at least the person who drew the murals, was that of light technology that could be drawn from endless resources like light creatures...
honestly as someone who grew up with the petit prince stories i always found them fake deep and pretentious, written from the perspective of an adult with thoughts a child would never have so dont worry about it
The Valley Citadel Gyroscopes?
I think I remember something saying “I tried to warn them” maybe that is related to the pollution and the making of diamonds..
But this was all before they fell to the skies though
"If only they had listened", iirc
couldn't the stars be the sky kids? we technically fall from the sky
Yeah that
that could be it... the murals and the lines are super vauge and it's always hard to decipher what it's really trying to say...
@Cyora I mean, WL used to be called stars.
Also, goodness what happened with the slow mode?
Lighthouses guide travelers as well as keep them from crashing into rocks
The light house in the little prince desert
speaking of WL, are they sky kids that died somewhere outside eden?
@gloomy osprey Draw me a crab!
What if skids are kings children like a hollow knight kinda thing
I see "the stars" as two possibilities, the Ancestors, or the Winged Lights. However, I trust more the idea of that "The Stars" are the Winged Lights, since the opening cutscene (both old and new) say "Bring the lost stars back home"
In the Eye of Eden we do exactly that, we retrieve the winged light to the statues in point of no return, and in our ascend to Orbit we guide them to "The Light"
pay me
Don't know for sure. All I've got is that they're an "imprint" of sorts.
it would make sense, given that we return them to statues that look like us when we die and we then exit the body as light to ascend
we're hosting lost souls that lend us their power in order to assist them back to Orbit?
So like, I guess the "imprint" is the skids' "life" source and the husks are the bodies.
I saw theories many time ago about the Winged Lights being a kind of "soul" to the Statues of Point of no Return, and that's why we have to give them their soul back or something.
Aw man that makes me feel bad for not going to eden as soon as I get them all lol
Something like that, yeah.
