1.) Drunkard's Dialogue

He says he drinks dark water "to forget" , "to forget i am ashamed" and "to forget i am ashamed of drinking the dark water!!!"

Could it be possible that the water he's talking about is also the polluted water that drains our light? so exposure to the polluted/dark water affects the spirit's memories, which is why we only see tidbits and only specific scenes of a memory. This "polluted water" would've been looked over as regular water to spirits as they do not have the capacity to actually vessel a winged light,only manipulate its components, so they dont actually SEE the harmful effects it does to their body!

"to forget i am ashambed of drinking the dark water" was probably a part of their hallucination, they're not actually ashamed of drinking it since they wanted to forget in the first place. at that point drunkard didn't know why he was drinking, so that's why the only emotion they felt was SHAME

First we see these men talking probably about the drunk guy, then the spirit appears at the same spot with dark water. Then we see the starlight 📽 projectors and spirit trying to get them, after that drink again, then we see the spirits family...and he drinks again Poor guy

Maybe it started as a coping mechanism, maybe just curiosity or maybe without a reason. In the end he got a taste for the dark water in the wasteland.
What's interesting is he was in the wasteland and now he is clearly not.
How are the seemingly related people from the main story in this land?

Just thinking out loud here.
What if each realm are stuck in a time period?
The stars falling represents an event that changed the world. So, any region with stars present can be assume to have taken place in a time before this event.
I have not seen stars in the night sky in any realm aside from now two locations which is the starry desert for the current season and the starry night of the final cut scene in the season of dreams.
Not forgetting the stars in orbit and home, these locations may have a different reason.

There was an old message in the introduction telling skykids 'to bring our stars home.'
At the end of each realm, you help the spirits towards the temple and they get to ascend into the sky, revealing the realm's constellation.
I am not suggesting the spirits are the stars, as the winged light were called stars in the past, though am open to suggestions on this.

Based on the book, the prince seems to be still travelling around. The plot may be the prince coming across the world of sky and being curious and exploring the place, all while making friends with the skykids. While the little prince does that, us skykids sort get to do the same with meeting characters from his world and learning more about it.
As the title of the area suggest, this is where the world of the little prince collides with that of Sky.

I am a bit let down on the cartographer not having any written material.
I greatly appreciate the murals in the books, it is clear skykid either cannot read, or the advanced society in vault does not have a written language (that or they are keeping those important documents away from us skykids).

The cosmic mantas might be also called memories in the game based on the name of the spirit that gives you the cosmic manta call, is Memory Whisperer.
That is if this follows suit with the manta call coming from the Manta Whisperer spirit.

The chains represent the spirits are limited and confined to what they think is the truth.

In the book, the author pointed out how children sees the world differently from adults. With the book's narrator being aware it is telling a children's story, the author acknowledges the traditional aspects one but quickly dismisses them as a part of what adults would do to over-complicate things and muddle the truth in favour for a convenient lie.
According to a reading by Dolly Garland about the adults in the book, "[The adults] are literal, and the only truth is the truth they see with their eyes, trapping them within their self-made limitations."

Couple with what chains could mean in dreams (given that the area is dreamlike), the spirits in the season of the little prince are adults that are bound to their sins (the lies they believed) and thus confined to reliving them as memories.

Ok, the word 'sin,' might be much, though each spirit of the season seem to have an issue the little prince would comment on.

The reason why I though of the word is because they might be related to the 7 sins:
Slouching Soldier - Gluttony, because of him drinking the dark water out of shame for drinking it in the first place.
Gloating Narcissist - Envy, as he insists on being admired even if it to boost his narcissistic ego.
Star Collector - Both the in game spirit and character in the book are focused on counting stars and
Sneezing Geographer - Pride, as he was more focused on his own
Star Collector - Greed, as he 'owns' more stars, he believes that makes him a rich and successful business man.
Beckoning Ruler - Pride, as he was too caught up in his own delusion that admit that he has no authority on things beyond his control.

Stretching Lamplighter, though I am not sure what sin fits his case. He follows orders even if the orders do not accommodate his needs. With him being loyal to carry them out to the best of his abilities, I suppose his flaw (if you want to call it that) would be him being altruistic (denying his own needs).

He was bigger than the other elders, he had a crown and was powerful.
The old plot of the game (around the time of the beta) was that the skykids would save the elder in eden, which was called storm back then.
Since then, the elder himself was removed and thus cannot be saved. But, some remnants of the king still remain.

You can see evidence of him in the towers of wasteland, in the star symbols throughout the game, in the giant statues in Eden and even the mural at the end of vault!
Theories around the king are like a black hole, it draws you into darkness.

The problem I had is how would, or could, a player compare?
My thought of ranks is to bridge that moth, then butterfly to what would be qualify being a veteran.

For instance, you and I have played for about a year, but compared to those who have been playing 2 years, I don't want to upset older players with down grading their veteran status.
It is fair to assume a player with over 150 Winged light as their max has a fair amount of experience.

What else makes things a bit tricky is while it is easy to state if a player owns a pendant from the oldest season (gratitude) they are vets, though what about players that have not bought the season pass? Same applies to cosmetics and emotes now that all players can get them either via memories or travelling spirits.
Personally, I do not want to use the cosmetics as the main indicator for a player's veteran status because it suggests players who has not bought the cosmetics do not count, even if they have been playing along side the players that did spend the money.

The Common Wasteland Krill (Euphausiacea Noctia Major) is the more common of the two krill species, the other one being the Great ||Eden Krill (Euphausiacea Noctia Minor).||

Both Species’ forms are quite similar to their smaller (and much less hostile) counterpart. They share 8 pairs of legs, in contrast to the real life krill’s 10 pairs.

Another huge difference is their solid black coloring. This is due to their shell of Chitin, a strong polymer that makes up the shells of many real life insects and crustaceans. These spikes and plates lay on top of one another, constantly shedding.
In fact, you can tell a krill’s age by how many plates it has! Don’t get to close though! Krill’s spikes contain a neurotoxin 100x more potent than Ricin, a deadly chemical here on earth.

In addition to multiple rows of spikes, another major feature of a krill’s exoskeleton is its large, razor sharp horns that it rams with.

While roaming and searching for prey, it will project a vivid cyan light and follow a set track, never straying off unless it finds prey, or burrows.
When finds it’s next meal, its light will turn bright red, and it will prepare to charge. Scientists still cannot figure out the reasoning behind this, but research suggests that it may be “playing” with its victim.

How they can hurt skykids is by becoming corrupted. The reddish colour indicates this while, the blue colour indicates a powered state and yellow is a charged state when it receives flame.
Another trait of the red stone, is how it spasms when winged light is near, that or a skykid.
The rapid shaking could indicate it being agitated when light is near, or it highly unstable and can possibly fracture even more.

And yes TLP is "alien".
The time of the events is post Eden kaboom and with the other mainland spirits (source: the geographers books)
And TLP landed after the kaboom (again source the 4th and the biggest image in geographer's books)
Also, what happened to them? Probably in line with what happened to rest of the spirits.
So all old theories apply to them.
Will the rose ascend them or TLP? Where will TLP go?

I have a bit of a theory about the starlight desert unless someone else already made this theory. It probably isn't true but I think it makes a nice headcannon nonetheless.

What if the Starlight Desert is like a shared dream space/subconscious for the people of the Kingdom of Sky where their innermost desires/fears manifest themselves and is accessible through the cracks in the vault thanks to it's proximity to eden and it's shared dream-like logic. That's why the Little prince is able to visit when otherwise they would be far separated (considering that they are of a different universe), why there are such massive objects in the desert, and why eden is visible in the distance when it should be either alot closer or not visible in it's entirety considering the Starlight Desert's proximity to the Vault.

Or maybe the sky devs just wanted to do a collaborative season with a book that they enjoyed and really inspired the development of the game and I'm just overthinking this.

(As a bit of a bonus, considering the sky of the starlight desert is similar to the spaces each elder is found in, (if this theory is correct) it might lead prudence to the idea that the elders may be trapped in similar dream-like locations or the starlight desert itself)

I mean, one of the biggest places for plants is wasteland which has an abundance or crabs, me and a friend also had a theory that when a crab manages to consume enough of a skykid’s light, or possibly taking a few winged lights themselves(I mean, they do just kinda stand there.), they become a krill, explaining why there’s only a few in comparison to the amount of crabs, because skykids can just flip a crab over. So they just got lucky and found weaker ones. I feel like I’m diving way, waaay too deep, but to me it all makes sense. Thoughts?

I agree it is a game mechanic, because you can get other player's attention, and sort of communicate to them, though it is very limited.

For example (from personal experience), short and rapid calls are usually skykids trying to get someone's attention, especially if it is someone they want to repsond (such as they are afk at a puzzle). Then you get medium calls with short bursts, it is not commonly used, though mostly done at player doors, it is similar to the rapid calls, though usually indicate the player is hoping for someone to come help them. Then you get deep calls (or long calls) that most of the time indicates the player is helping another player out with chargring, or even excited while with another player. The long call is also frequently used where butterflies are to get to higher places.

Dark plants seem to take root in places that are either tainted with darkness, corrupted or even in places where a terrible event took place. So, probably the space has negative energy or something like it.
Good examples include, the crying light miner's memory with someone in pain was covered in dark plants (it may not have been in the memory itself, though indicated the darkness of the situation, the tree that was cut down, the places where the manta got trapped (I believe mantas where hunted by the spirits and the one that got caught are reenacting the event), the centre of the graveyard with the huge dark plant and krill, the dark plants in the maze section that are full of crabs and so on.

I know most of the ideas in these old concept art may no longer be relevant, though the main theme seems to stick with what we currently have.

Vault of knowledge is a tower that has no dark plants, has spectral creatures (like the cosmic manta) and the elder was compared to an oracle, as the level was supposed to be futuristic.
Would it be still relevant for the vault elder to use projections? I noticed it being brought up every now and again in this channel.

With the level being about the future or a prediction, would that explain why there are no dark plants?

Yes, vault elder and Scholars are shown to be using diamonds to make projection animals in the vault elder cutscene. Also Vault was sealed to protect knowledge only Scholars can access it. So either the dark plants couldn't grow due to it being closed or maybe the other theory which says dark plants grow from flames and vault is mostly made of diamonds and heat is trapped in those diamonds so maybe it's not a ideal space for them to grow.

Even if the cutscene only shows our skykid (I am not counting the gate crashing OOB players as canon, lol), the game does suggest there are multiple skykids (hence the multiplayer aspect). PRoff of this is the idea a skykid can have other skykids as friends, there are player doors that says you need other skykids to help you and how the bigger dark plants are impossible to burn down on your own.

One last fact I want to add, though is a head canon, are the statues in eden are either the first skykids, or the fallen skykids before our 'generation' of skykids (they look a little different to our skykids even considering how a skykid looks like when you have not lit them up).

The influence from Journey I could find is minimal and mostly went to the style ThatGameCompany designed the game.
The mesh of the windows are Journey-esc, so is the visual 'bubble' when skykids chime or call out. The use of cloaks to fly and depending on other players to help you.

And lastly, Journey focused on integrating The Hero's Journey (The monomyth) into an immersive and moving video game, while Sky focuses on a Journey through life, while emphasising on the fact that having friends with you makes you stronger than going alone.
