That's indeed interesting, but I think the concept of a round continent with Eden Mountain in the middel is quite a scraped idea (or at very least from our perspective doesn't seems to fit... The path is quite linear/ straight in the realms) infact in OLD Beta videos (Light Awaits) there was a different orientation of the mountains visible from the Aviary
But it could still be possible, curved surfaces like a planet can disguise a straight route and turn into a curved one from aerial view

Actually not mentioned in this country conceptart , but anyway I prefer to consider it as you said an inside-joke, because the nowday temple is slightly different from the picture you showed

well there are 6 spirits and we have 6 realms. i saw a tumblr post theorizing about these spirits could represent each realm's elder but i understand that some players think its not related to actual lore of sky world confusing stuff. my friend and i thought at first maybe robotic arm wasnt intended to be in actual game and would change in the future but it didnt (i cant link the tumblr post i dont have an acc on there, dont know how)

Just wanted to point something else out.
The moon in this concept is purple.
There is also a purple moon in the final cutscene of dreams.
I wonder if that is just a coincidence or it signifies these seasons too place in the same time period.

I am not going to also put the pruple light in vault as also a coincidence, but still.

I wonder if the colour scheme gives hints to a possible element an area or entire season would relate to.

“Reuse is good!” — My friend’s Teacher. Well, he’s not wrong, reuse of models in video games and other projects is good because it saves time, there could be a different model of the Wasteland shrine in Vault because why would it be broken in Vault but why make an entire new model for that?

The whole point of gender was pretty biological and stuff but in sky they are literally stars that fell. They don't need such a functional distinction. All variations in size body shape whatever have nothing to do with gender whatsoever.
So there can be a "pear body" male -like spirit elder whatever. They may even not have a permanent gender construct.

my brain is just going off on another tangent, but i wonder what the education "system" is like in sky: children of the light too... i don't think they really have formal schools and everything's really just community-based (probably unless you want to become a vault scholar, in that case i imagine there's a rather rigorous program) but i also feel like you have to learn some things if you want to manage in the sky world

my boyfriend made a joke that the curriculum was "how to eat candle" and "how to eat crab", but i do seriously wonder what are considered good skills to have (and pass down to other people) in the sky universe

It's more like you grow watching others, you have your own set of skills, and you pursue them. Assembly honestly did a good job of hinting at what kids did.
They literally took stuff and had their own things they were good at.

considering that many of the spirit names are occupations,it wouldn’t be surprising to think they took apprentices

The thing about sky is, anything you take you have to first understand that the resemblance to irl is just for convenience. And it ends their. It's like the irl thing not the irl thing itself. It's that thing for a lack of better term.
Which also means anything could literally have multiple endless possibilities

One thing however, I think resembles irl concepts, are emotions.

The red side if the colosium, where the gondolas to the village of dreams are, if we look at the twins' designs and statue placement on their altar's, would be Left's(Swooshy's) side. I'm really intrigued by the worldbuilding and such, so, if there's anything past the other door, like another village or a small city, would it be any different than the village of dreams, culturally and architecture wise? In fact, were the Valley Elders worshiped constantly together, or apart? Did one half of the population worship one more than the other, vice versa for the other half? Was it just a thing of preference left up to the individual how they worshipped their Elders??

The Twins are certainly a duality, yes, but they're also a confrontation, not quite complete opposites, but different, at least from what we can tell. Perhaps then, they represented different ideals and were associated with different things, ideals that could either work in tandem and build off of each other, or clash constantly. Ok, I took the scenic route while candle running today. Here are the images to confirm if there is a sun or moon in every realm.

Isle of Dawn- Scouting form the rainbow bridge, I could nto find a visible sun in the sky, though assume is either under the map or behind the Eden mountain. I took a picture of the light orb that floats above the temple since it acts like the sun when you look at the temple from the starting point's cliff.

Isle of Dawn- After flying high enough, still could not see a visible orb in the sky (sun). Though believe the sun might be behind the mountain given it is morning in this realm.

Daylight Prairie- In the social area, you see a blueish orb in the sky. Unless anyone can explain otherwise, I will assume this is the sun for Sky. As you move through the realm, you might notice the sky shift as you make progress. I assume this could mean a skykid can travel forward in time as they make their way to the temple, stand still and the time of day would stand still and if they were to go back to the start, time shifts backwards.
Not sure if that is a game mechanic or a viable fact to use in lore.

Daylight Prairie- caves- I found a way above the caves and the sun is either hidden behind the clouds or not rendered because the level is indoors and skykids are not supposed to see the sky.
Any window to the outside has a light source to suggest the sun is shining, but not visible form inside of the caves. This image taken where you would be in the watery section of the caves. I took this image because this soft light source seems to be the 'sunlight' you would see through the holes in the roof. The rest of the caves has the same daylight colours as from the cave entrance with the message shrine, so no image needed there.

Daylight Prairie - Caves - The sun was found near the exit to the village. I got a bit lost figuring out where the exits were, though am sure that direction it to the vilalge.

Daylight Prairie- Village - Easy sun seen high in the sky.

Daylight Prairie - Sanctuary - This sun is easily spotted, though had an odd property I have not seen in other locations.

Daylight Prairie - Sanctuary - It had a purple tinge to it and when you chime, the aura of the chime blots out the golden light. I am not sure if it is a bug or what, but sure is something eerie.

Hidden Forest - Because most of the realm is covered in clouds, I assume the sunny orb is not rendered to simulate a cloudy day. I will assume this soft light source is the sun for this area.

Hidden Forest - underground caves - I found a hole in the terrain (chibi mode not needed) and saw no orb that represents the sun. I believe becase the caves are considered to be indoors, there would not have to be a sun in the sky aside from using light boxes for any holes to the outside. This yellow light orb is seen at the end of the caves area, and I though to include it in my exploration notes since I did that for isle of dawn's light.

Hidden Forest - The final are beyond of the temple, there is not visible sun and had trouble properly photographing it. Mostly due to the camera not zooming out for a good shot and the wind walls coverage is very thorough, so the best sun image I could find is of the cloud tunnel leading to Valley of Truimph.

Valley of Triumph - This sun is low on the horizon though is visible. I take the glare as enough confirmation if I cannot get a good image of the orb that is the sun.

Valley of Triumph - Citadel - Very nice sun to the right of the mountian.

Valley of Triumph - Race 2 - The sun is a bit tricky to track while flying through the course, though this is on the right side at the start of the race.

Valley of Triumph - Race 2 - In the later half of the race, the clouds are blocking the sun out, showing the creepy purplish/ greenish orb where the sun should be.

Despite the struggle of flying up high enough to check the horizon, I cannot see the sun. Perhaps a rocketing pair of skykids could have look while going up to the OOB area called Disneyland. For now, I'll accept the golden glow peeking out behind the Eden mountain.

Valley of Triumph - Dream Village - Now, for @viscid coyote, here is the humungous 'light bulb' I was referring to.
This is probably the best looking sun I have seen. The mountain top area has an equally magnificent sun, and probably easier to photograph too. Also take note that Eden mountain is now where to be seen. Either because you would not be able to see it, or I am blind and overlooked it while getting a picture of this giant sun orb.

Golden Wasteland - Forgotten Ark - Now this realm was hardest to get a good sun. Although there is actually no sun in this realm!
What you are seeing is a crescent moon with a harsh glare. I could not get an angle to avoid it, though it does show you the shape of the moon in comparison to the rest of the areas.

Golden Wastelands - Broken Temple - Again, a rocket trick might be able to break though the clouds, though the best |I got is a hole in the clouds with a little light peeking though, the shape is likely a crescent moon, because while lining up shots, there is a rounded shape, though I couldn't get the whole moon visible though the clouds, my apologies.

Golden Wastelands - Starting Social Area- This one is out of order, though these floating lights have been seen in forest and isle of Dawn. So I am including this one too.

Golden Wastelands - Graveyard - This moon is so small to me, it may as well be a orb. It was not too bad getting a good shot and minding the krill since they did seem to be on behaviour today. The glare is enough confirmation for me that there is a sun/moon in Golden Wasteland.

Golden Wastelands - Shipwreck - This moon is the biggest in the realm that I have seen. It does give off a glare, though if you stand in the windows and look up at a certain angle, you get to see the nice crescent shape.
Come to think of it, it could be an eclipse.

I ascended above the atmosphere in the sanctuary area. atmosphere looked like a thin light blue stripe between ocean and black nothing. horizon was curved significantly. height was est. 10 minutes of free fall in "forward flight" mode. that's what i have determined during this ascension. my friend dragged me to that green light quest, y'know. u need to wait for the light to come down. And I had a good idea: "we can skyrocket with piggyback glitch to get it early". and so we set it up and skyrocketed. few seconds later weird thing happened: we hit white screen transition and found ourselves in sanctuary entrance. and I thought: "lets skyrocket in sanctuary". and so we did, skyrocket stopped carrying us somewhere (for some reason) amid the atmosphere (we could see sanc island well yet), i put a table mid-air to stay airborne. I was satisfied with the view, took photos, and then... I decided to go higher. I asked my friend to warp to me so we could continue our ascension. And we did another skyrocket, it stopped, I put my table, we recharged, and we did it again, and again... during ascension, we saw how the curvature of horizon increased, atmosphere thinned, sanctuary island wasn't rendering properly anymore, sky above turned black. We realised that we have achieved outer space: we could see the atmosphere below us. at some point, when i put a table and landed, friend couldnt even warp to me anymore: "can you warp", "no, I cannot for some reason". so obviously, it was impossible to ascend further without other player's help. so I took last photos and recorded my descent into the atmosphere.

Note: I suggest it is possible to do continuous skyrocket indefinitely, but something seems to interrupt the process so... yea

not gonna lie, I got some serious Kerbal Space Program vibes

From a game coding perspective (not an expert) you basically reached the border of the sky box. I am not sure if it still called that, but it is actually a sphere for the sky to render.
Beyond that is just the void. The fact that you could reach that with the rocket trick shows how powerful that is. I am glad that did not break the game for you.

I suspect it would be possible to ascend even higher, but the warp limitation really hindered the whole thing. I dont know if this is even worth it, but I really plan to do an indefinite skyrocket (so no table checkpoints apparently) and beat my personal record and maybe even reach some height limit

I'm gonna madpat the honk out of this game.

So really I wanna start at the beginning of the game when we wake up most likely finding ourselves on this desert island as our first thought is to follow this so called "light" on this mountain we see. Our character who we play as seems to really wanna go there for some unknown reason

Through the game our skid seems to have abilities to make itself more powerful with winged lights who was moths who might have came before, We have the power of seeing spirits, the ability to use light itself as energy, and our honk is powerful enough to knock crabs over

As the age we are we seem to be very powerful already so think about what a older moth could do. Might as well lift up the islands what we know as the Sky world today. With lots of power you can't just guarantee that the older moths were on the good side. I believe a fight of light and dark broke out as humans made Krills and possibly crabs to defend themselves against the skids. This did very little for them so they had to escape the planet to get away from the adult moths. In hopes to clean the planet the people made the eye of enden to work as a trap for all moth kind.

I believe through the space satellite what sometimes is seen in office may have been a death laser to wipe out more of them or was tied into enden to power it. Explaining why there's a laser down on enden

the elders seen through the game might be of the humans. They don't seem to care to even warn us about enden and I really don't think getting reborn was apart of their plan. There was many before us who suffered from enden before we even got there as I feel like the player skids are a new generation of skids who can resist enden and become reborn.

I think I figured out what the war in Golden wasteland is about.

In wasteland you have two sides, one that has the star/sun/sky emblem 🌟 and the other has a diamond ♦️ .
The diamonds weild blades and the stars weild spears, while both use shields.

Now, I did nkt know whihlch side is which other then the possible options were the children of light, the king, the elders and an unknown group of ancestor tribes.

I believe the two sides were as follows:
the side with the round, star sheilds and spears are the ancestors that worshipped the children of light and followed the wasteland elder. This theory is supported by the emblem resembling a star and the symbol used to depict a child of light seen in murals kor cave drawings).

The diamond group however, followed the valley elders and believed in the power of transformation. The diamond symbol they have represents light that is refined.

Thatcis at least what I have worked out so far as a headcanon.

What baffles me though is a statue in the graveyard area in golden wasteland.

You can find him next to the catapult, though take a look at the shrine it is kneeling at. This statue is either a petrified spirit or a memorial statue. It has a blade, so it on the diamond side.

The catapult was an Old beta resource ! The spirit you see there was an old model for the ancestors akin to Faint spirit's old design though it is interesting to wonder what might've been its place in the lore

Okay so.. Apparently they pretty much stayed in the same area but the thing is, the mechanic of following memory fragments didn't exist yet at that time nor the darkness corpses. To relive a spirit, you have to light candles in front a gravestone similar to the ones in social area, it'll play you a small cutscene then the spirit in the cutscene will disintegrate which will give you the emote after, that was it

If I recall corretcly, the old spirit with its emote used tj be just outside the broken temple. The spirit is now moved to the left, by the pillars.
The statue is in the graveyard, next to the catapult.
My theory is the statues 'spirit' died when a krill hit him while manning the catapult.
I am not sure exactly why the model was reused lore-wise, but from a game building perspective makes perfect sense to recycle an asset.

Skykids, fallen children of light and the spirits have bodies of stone.
I agree the stone body represents death. Though the skykids are able to be reborn, return to the kingdoms and repeat the whole cycle. Also with the the idea they were facing a powerful entity.

Petrification might not be natural in this world as there are gravestones, which suggest the bodies can decompose and thus need to prepare (or respectfully get rid of) the bodies.
So, the stone bodies either mark their place of death, or a moment in time the spirit is bound to and they are reliving past life events.

In old concept art, skykids were mentioned to be descendants of the ancestors, a hybrid of the spirits and the light creatures.
When skykids lose all of their light, they become children of darkness, a dark husk that are fragile.
In recent updates of the game, skykids turn into a statue upon death in the final area of Eden.
My personal head canon is petrification is the effects of corruption in Eden. While other ancestors remains can be fund as gravestones, I am working out how that works.

There are debates on whether a skykid's cosmetics like their capes are made of light absed on teh fact they lose them when all light is gone and the capes don't have shadows.

So to answer your question in short: I think skykids have bodies of stone but can carry the light they gather. And the cape is likely made of light and can change depending on the skykid's preference.
Note these are not canon, these are just fan theories.

During development, the game wanted the realms to follow a life cycle.
Isle of dawn (or just dawn) represents birth as it is the first realm we visit. Then we go through the other realms that represents the next stage of life, up to the last realm Eden which is death.
Orbit represents rebirth, which completes the cycle.

There have been name changes for the game. But some of the meanings of the old names have relevance.

Ex. Storm is now called EDEN, Dawn changed to Isle of Dawn etc.

I think the general consensus is that whatever happened to make Eden become the storm affected all of the realms, and so yeah that is part of why none of the ancestors are around anymore except in spirit form. And now the beings that the players control are around to explore and kind of restore the world I guess. All of the specifics are pretty open to interpretation since the canon lore is kind of vague

Personally, I think that doesn't necessarily mean that all of the spirits that we see in the game died at the time of the Eden incident though. I think we just see a variety of spirits from ancestors who lived during different times in the Sky kingdom's history

Honestly ive been wondering a lot about what makes the sky kids..sky kids
This might be answered in the canon doc or it could be obvious, but how could they be made?

Short and personal theory.
They are sent down from the heavens to deliver the fsllen stars, which are the children of light (winged light) home.

So the sky part is explained, and the kids part is because of their design. I think they are sort of like vessels that carry the light of the fsllen children. Their size also helps them get around the realms (like the pipes, caves and even specially built tunnels for skykids to go through).

But there’s definite proof that skykids and sprits coexisted for a time.
In the “come here” spirit’s memories (isle of dawn) it depicts two spirits seeing a skykid descend as a comet, and they watch the skykid wake up and take in its surroundings.
Maybe the skykids didn’t coexist throughout the entirety of the spirits’ time in the Sky kingdom, but at some point skykids existed before the storm.

Also, on an unrelated note… do zippers exist in Sky? If not, is there a possibility?

All the elders seem to be lacking the wisdom to harness the element, honestly. Daylight elder lacks resilience (sleeping instead of going on), Forest elder lacks patience (hurriedly snatching your fire), Valley elders lack balance (only caring about having fun and having no focus on anything else), and Wasteland elder lacks courage (he barely can stand up without your help).

This also is strange since it shows the exact same elders with the exact same wisdoms

I think cutting down trees is how they harvested/made diamonds in Forest. It makes sense for why the lumberjack feels remorse.

And the illustration on the outside of Forest temple's doors seems to show diamonds hidden inside trees, both in the trunk and at the bottom of the branches.

The blue diamonds at the bottom light up blue as they rise. This is different from the Isle doors, where I believe they light up gold to represent a fallen star being returned.

Funny enough I did ask about this particular statue a day or so ago.

It used to be a spirt, but it is not.
Here is why, in the beta of the game, the faint spirit had a different model. What you are seeing is the the old model for the fainting spirit reused as a statue!
Also, if you look at the candle holder, it is a tiny bird shrine!

That is about the just of what I know of that statue, but it still interesting. :)

Wasteland was trashed out due to diamond production. There might have been a civil war there about diamond production since theres two different types of weapon sets strewn about the fields. Ultimately, krills came into the picture and all the soldiers and light creatures could not even fight them all off together. The elder of wasteland had lost everything.

Thats my theory at least. I hope hes doing better since skykids are around to help him out now

I went to ceremonial worshiper as part of my candle run, and I was wondering if we know what exactly they were worshipping? On each of the eight shrines, there are seven of these gold things, which might represent the seven realms (including eden, maybe that’s the bigger one) but I’m not sure why there’s eight shrines. I have a theory about what Krills are.
Ofc you could just say “they’re krills” but I mean “what they are” as in are they truly “natural” creatures or, hear me out, machines?

You can probably tell where this is going, but if you can’t, I’m implying that Krills are, in fact, machines/robots or whatever.

So first of all, the noises that they make when they pass by you sound something like glass clinking (I know that’s a bad description of the noise, it’s hard to explain, really).

The way their eyes glow is also a major red flag (for me, at least.) Krills are the only creatures whose eyes glow red when having spotted a Skid, or alternatively, spirits (I’ll explain later on.)
However, there is one exception to the glowing eye trait- The “eyeless” Krill, located in Forgotten Ark. This specific Krill’s name is self explanatory- It appears to not actually have an eye.

One last statement before I explain my theory in full- the Krill have predetermined paths that they follow. One may say that the paths are just programmed in to make the game less/more difficult, but I feel like there is real motive behind this choice.
To me, it feels as if they’re scouting- they’re looking for someone. As we already know, Krills don’t eat Skids, Krills knock winged light out of Skids. (I’ll elaborate more on this later on in the full theory.)
A Krill will move on its correspondent route until a skid flies too close, or gets seen by said Krill. The Krill will then proceed to attack the Skid, unless the latter hides and escapes the view of the former, in which the Krill will stay where it last saw the Skid, waiting to see if the Skid will return. After a few seconds the krill will return on its usual route.

So anyways, here’s my explained theory:

Krills are basically war machines- they were released onto GW during what appeared to be a war, as evidenced by the various weapons in Battlefield, the spirits, whose names are self explanatory, and the name “battlefield” itself.

So when the war was occuring, one of the parties involved released Krill all over GW and used them as weapons, making many people have to take specific routes to avoid being krilled, for example, spirits like the Stealthy Survivor (sneaking stance) and the Courageous Soldier (courageous stance).
In Stealthy Survivor’s cutscene, the spirit in question is seen by a Krill, and quickly hides from it. The Krill looks around for the spirit, in which it ultimately fails to find, and again goes on its way.
I also believe someone smashed the eyeless krill’s “eye”, causing it to go blind.
On the subject of the krills in Eden, I have 2 ideas.

1. The Krills were unleashed onto Eden by another party besides the King after the latter became evil
2. The Krills were unleashed onto Eden by the King themself. (Unlikely)

anyways this was my theory, and it’s my first one as well

Would they just straight up die if they got hit? Would the krill eat them, kind of like that one manta? Idk

On that note, I wonder if having winged light is part of why sky kids can be reborn. Spirits don’t have winged light, and so can die, which maybe happens if they get hit by krill, whereas we can get hit many times without dying, and when we do die we are reborn. Maybe the winged light has something to do with that, just a theory

Sometimes I see complete gold in fanart of the concept animals. One or two picked a two headed bird for valley and one did a deer for Vault

Not one of the elder animals though. There was a monkey, and Tsadi strait up has like, the ox, lion and spider. So theres extras but like.....no one should have to be a monkey or terrible limb spider.

a quick google search for kitsune in relation to Teth, the forest spirit.
The more tails a kitsune has, the wiser and older they are, 9 tails typically mean they are over 100 years and typically turn white or gold.

I am not saying that this elder and or the other elder are related to Japanese mythology, though still would accept this as a possible inspiration/influence to the design for the forest spirit.
Because it fits the criteria for the game's theme and what the elder represents.

If you are referring to the animal concept art, the elder were very animalistic at that stage. I think they were still figuring out what the elders were like, if they would be corrupted or how they would be broken.
So, any animals that were cut at that stage were just ideas the concept artists played around with.

It's not theory but... Maybe one day there would be no water at home...literally no water... Just like I have noticed that at the update I think the one in days of blooms، water level has decreased... Also I saw an old video and I noticed that the water level was even more than before the update... So yeah maybe sky world goes through nature conditions like our world

In beta the home area (I think) used to be just a plane of water, then a lot changes took place and home turned into a small island. Then the island started to rise a bit.
So, either the water is falling, or our home island might be rising.

Imagine the home island rises into the clouds and skykids can once again visit the aviary! If that would be any excuse to why veterans and high flyers would be messing around high up above the home island, lol.

Those who like deconstructing parts of sky, have a look at the meaning of a diamond, and even a red one, a blie one and a gold/yellow one.
Their meanings oddly line up with the lore (though a bit ironic when it comes to the red one).

Valley elders are twins.
They rule over the realm as one.

Evidence that supports this is the each ahve one eye one their masks, their throne is split in two and the represent competition so, fits in with them being twins.

maybe the 6 spirits represent some part in the 6 realms (excluding eden) or represent what a spirit in one of the realms was ljke

What confuses me is why thry have the same uniform. Like, the Valley Twins are Elders, leaders, big ol important, all powerful beings with lotsa power that ruled over an entire REALM, so why does that one teaser spirit share an outfit? Is there some kinda connection?? Or am I just looking too far into things and that's just, standard Valley athlete uniform -

Im still disappointed about the valley pants. I think it would have been better as part of something elder related. Now its just like. “This iconic outfit is actually just a common athlete uniform and nothing special at all” and also it still has the arm ring armor stuff. So who knows if they even have false arms anymore. Sigh.

Also it was a fantasy, complete fantasy, but my microscopic hopes for an Elder based season are a little squished.

Same, they're big important leaders, they're oufots should be all, exclusive royal Gucci stuff only other really important athletes and heroes wear! Unless this spirit was Really Important™, but then why are they all the way out in Vault for??
Also, as someone that has stared at the Twins's models a LOT, their arms are visibly segmented and diferentiate from what looks to be arm bands on that spirit

Yeah. Thats true. It does look different. Plus it only resembles Sah’s arm thing and even then not as segmented. Maybe the spirit is so egotistical he dresses like an elder? Sigh.

I've seen people speculate that they think they're either: a) The Twins' annoying cousin they shipped off to Vault for Lamed to deal with (funny, but not much substance) B) One of the Twins' parents (many angst possibilities) or C) (my own opinion) A fled protégé of the twins, perhaps? (would explain the outfit more easily)
