Was Eden ever the King's realm?
Seriously, think about it. Every Elder has a kingdom, a physical realm that they rule. Elders are powerful, god like beings that once ruled over their lands with power. From the evidence we have thus far of the King's upbringings, when he was born in the Isle (ushering stargazer), when he went through the trials to prove himself worthy of the throne (wall paintings in prophecy cave), when he was originally supposed to be in Eden for you to "save" and redeem? It becomes apparent that he was just like any other skychild. He was elected king by the Elders. He wasn't inherently special.
If Eden wasn't the King's, then who's was it? My guess is the Vault Elder. Looking at the paintings in the prophecy cave you can clearly see that every Elder had a purpose. Isle was the sender, the one that saw the King off as he attempted the trials. Prairie, Forest, Valley, and Wasteland were the receivers of the light and power that the King brought them, and Vault? She just kind of stands to the side of the mountain in the final painting. Maybe she was the one who gave up her literal throne to the King. In that very painting we see her kingdom depicted as inside the mountain - even her "summit" is under the peak.
Why would a tower have a "summit"? Such odd labeling.
We even see at the top of Eden's tower, after the whale destroys the fallen building we see her summit. What remained of it. Vault used to rule Eden, it was her kingdom. It was when the King took rule of the throne that she had to resort to building a tower in a completely different time and space and claim that as her kingdom, a dreamscape, an illegitimate reality.

I'm honestly not sure. Daydream seems like an Islian, but she could also be Prairie. Chuckle seems more like a Prairian to me because of the hair and the rounder appearance most associated with the Prairie kingdom. Scold I can agree, she seems like a Vaultian. Baffled is a botanist, and given his depressed hairstyle, crying mask, and spotlight (which is quite advanced tech), we can safely assume he's Forest.
Scaredy and Marching can be plenty interchangeable. While Marching seems most representative of Wasteland with their dreads, eyepatch mask, and torch item, that would leave Scaredy to Valley, and Valley is not at all a scaredy cat kingdom. It's never something I've truly considered before, so I don't know.

Maybe Daydream is the Vallian and Scaredy's the Islian? I have no clue LMAO

The Light is a label for the concept of rebirth and light in a whole - you and your friends and everyone else, you represent the light, which is why the favourites constellation is labeled as such

To keep it short, Isle was land of astrology, star maps, and prophets, Prairie was a manta breeding grounds, Forest and Valley made profit* from processing the mantas, Wasteland used to be an extremely rich grasslands kingdom with merchants and fancy clothes that also produced power diamonds like Forest, Vault is a fictional construct and Eden is the holy land where light creatures were never allowed in and when they broke through the ruler of the city went insane and eventually everything crumbled the end
I will go into detail if you'd like me to but this is just a basic overview of my ideas

There's honestly not much I can say for Isle
It seems like it used to be just a very casual kingdom with candlemakers and stargazers and then there were the prophets that either predicted our arrival or the king's arrival I honestly don't know anymore that's been muddied

Prairie is, when you look at it, kind of morbid. The entire kingdom is centered around it's mantas, farming, and even when you look at the Elder, they mirror that of traditional/ancient fertility gods, the ones that are responsible for birth across all creatures. You might ask, what about the butterflies, birds, and whales? Well, butterflies and birds are just immature mantas according to the Sky evolution/rebirth cycle. Whales are grown mantas, which is why one of them lives in Sanctuary. It's just an older manta from the traditional ones we see.

Forest is kind of as it is. They take the mantas and, through some kind of process, take the light energy and form it into power diamonds. There are huge factories that conduct this work, and the Forest temple is one of them. I haven't been able to trace where exactly the acid rain comes from or why it's acid in the first place, it could just be "It's cold fire no like cold", but when the Forest Elder's pin was up for purchase it was advertised on the website with a poem. I can't remember how exactly the poem read, but I'm fairly certain the rain is somehow connected to the Forest Elder's tears of mourning? Eh?? Idk LMAO

Valley is kind of as it is, as well. A thriving community of performers and entertainers, competitors and actors, musicians and racers and blah blah blah. They also utilize the mantas as mounts, presumably for racing or entertainment, and the Valley is connected to the Wasteland. The Mountains (Vale and Waste) as a whole kind of represent a hierarchy - the people that live in the peaks are wealthy and live comfortably, while the further you go down, the less fortunate the people are. It's why there seem to be grand cities that border the race tracks, but small villages and the Wasteland near the bottom.

Wasteland in itself used to be wealthy. You can see how Valley's transition to Wasteland's commune still possesses Valley architecture like the "temples" (as the game calls them) and towers that remain in the earlier parts of the Waste. The, previously a grassland (refer to Ark's restored state with grass and flowers), kingdom was full of merchants and tradesmen and they produced power diamonds and shipped those power diamonds in gold cases and lined pipes through their dunes to carry the darkness that was used to keep the light creatures out of their work place. This kind of brings me to Vault and Eden, which I'll probably save Vault for last.

Eden was technically a part of Wasteland which was technically a part of Valley??? They kind of all connect in a way it's really interesting. Back when the King (or the Vault Elder or whoever it was) was in power, they wanted to ensure the light creatures never entered the "Holy Land", which was a city that was built outside of Wasteland's temple. You can see that in this image here

On the far left you can see the light creatures above Wasteland's temple, but past the point of the Holy Land, they stop. They were never allowed in, but one day, they crossed the border. They got past the gate, and the ruler was not at all happy with that. Refer to this image here

My idea is that darkness was always a lurking entity, a threat. In the Prophecy caves, there's a painting near the ceiling that has all the kingdoms encircling Eden's mountain where the Vault Elder used to rule blah blah blah, and in the corner you see a krill buried in the clouds, off to the side, discarded. That, to me, means that darkness was hidden, maybe a secret operation tucked away. In any case, the darkness was used as a way to keep the light creatures out. They drove pipes through the cities and into the Wasteland, pumping this liquid gunk into every crevice where it mattered. Animals were kept to the Valley and back, they weren't meant to enter Wasteland or Eden, which is exactly why the krill exist.

Have you ever stopped and wondered why the krill sound like artificial creatures? They sound like metal and machinery grinding against itself, humming and wirring and crackling. In concept art for the dark creatures it's shown that these krill used to be redeemable. When they died you could burn them away and receive light for your service. In my interpretation that means that krill are artificial. They were used as a weapon to keep the animals out, but in the process they threatened the people. It's why a war broke out, why the Wastelanders turned from peaceful work to protest and weapons. It's why the Wasteland is torn to ruins by the krill - darkness just spun out of control, and the ruler was too late to stop it. Their rage kind of spiraled.

As for Vault, I've already gone over my idea that the Vault Elder used to rule Eden and my evidence. It doesn't help that you see skeletons in Vault's tower - maybe reminiscent of the creatures the Elder pulled the light from to create the krill? Artificial deaths do leave corpses, according to official art..?
I don't know really. That's just my theory on it all.

I've shared the idea with other people, and I landed on the idea that in the ruler's eyes, animals were nothing more than a tool, a thing that was used for mechanical power and nothing more. They were meant to be kept in the breeding grounds and within the kingdoms they were used, no where else. They weren't pets, they didn't deserve rights, they lived and died and that was that to them. It would be disgusting to have that in their Holy Land.

While it is a really dark take on the idea, and I doubt TGC would have that implied, it's the only reason I can really give.

Basically the headcanon is that the Artifact is a depiction of pre-Storm Vault.
Vault's story based on the Artifact OOB:
Before the storm, Vault was a network of towers linked together.
The Vault was powered by an underground core of light and/or power diamond.
However, when the storm came, all the other towers got destroyed and only the tall central tower (the main Vault that skykids know) exists today
The Archives is a link to another tower that used to be standing (if you notice the 1st floor of the archives there is a bunch of floating pieces so something might've been destroyed there

Unfortunately, my theories don't include an explanation for why when you die in a place like Sanctuary you just kind of snatch a light and get dunked into Homespace but when you die in the big scary red diamond place you ascend, I don't know. I'm sure the heavenly voice that tells you "you're about to be reborn" is responsible for that some how, deciding whether or not to reincarnate you or to save you from death, which would most likely be the megabird.

Sanctuary and Dreams are simply ways to look at the lives of the spirits before everything went wrong, not much to say there. Assembly is more interesting, as you’re helping the spirits in real time by physically building a treehouse. I think that the seasonal spirit guide (the one with the orange cape and bucket helmet) was a child that chose to become a spirit, as his desire to build a treehouse exceeded his fear of Eden. Now, you help the spirit by building the ultimate treehouse for him.

Prophecy is the most interesting. I think that the 4 prophets created the world of Sky as we know it (Earth prophet created all the land, water prophet created the water, Air prophet created the wind and clouds, and fire prophet maybe created the sun), when there were no one else besides them. However, they foresaw the rising up of the Elders, and not wanting to ruin the balance of power, hid themselves in the Cave of Prophecies and made the Trials so that future beings could learn the teachings of the Prophets.

Actually, now looking at the Cave of Prophecies murals, I think that the Prophet of Fire created heat, especially atmospheric heat

I'd suggest you go to the Cave to see the murals yourself. Anyways, one mural depicts the prophets trying to teach the new people the ways of their elements. Then, there are the murals of the 4 trials. This could imply that the Prophets failed to directly teach people how to use their elements and created the Trials to try to indirectly teach them. Finally, there is a mural of the 4 prophets along with all the realms, elders and all. They maybe saw themselves as irrelavant with the elders around, and not wanting to cause conflict, hid in the Cave of Prophecies as spirits.

Prince gave the elements to the realm Elders, then maybe took them up to eden to unlock the eden beam.

Ah. True. So, I think the prophets are prophets to the megabird and are trying to teach their 8 students the wisdoms so they can win the trials. But theres 8 fallen figures in the trial mural, so I guess they all failed. But in Ushering Stargazer’s memory (which was updated during prophecy) a glowy child falls from the sky. And in the mural, a glowy child waves goodbye to two people who I think are the two who found him. Its theorized the fallen child might be the prince of the sky kingdom/eden elder, due to the seasonal pendant looking like his mask in the concept art

This is my interpertation
1: birth of a kingdom
So the spirits were stranded on a strange island were an old man lived on his lonely mountain ( not eden). He told the spirits of a verry special place were they where. Because it was filled with magic. For a time everything went well and a little prince fell from the sky's and the isle elder took him into his care. Meanwhile the isle elder made a grpup of 5 prophets to discover what future would come and edjucate the growing population of spirits. So the prophets teached theire students about the elemts but. In their class cave they founded secrets. Secrets of enormeaus power. With the 5 prophets could use. But never complete them. Exept for the little prince. Pure of hart. The prophets learned that the kingdom would expand and grow with more people and land. By the use of 4 elements. After a whille when the spirits could fly with their boats to the next area. Prairy. Where the next star fel becoming the prairy elder.

When sivilisation became bigger a new elder rose to power believing technologie would be the smartest. So she builed an large city in the treetops and made mutch things with darkstone. 2 of her most heroic students the coming vally elders. They wanted to build an enormeaus city on the mountaintops and valles behind the forest. Together with an army of spirits they relised it. But forest was dryed up after this attempt. Forest would be after the building of vally beeing weeping of struggle and stress.

Fear of dangers came along whille an golden age radged over the kingdom ( exept forest) and the last 2 elders came making their home's in wasteland and the vault elder builded thw greatest tower for her people who colected all nolidge of the world.
But their was an 7th rlder. The lover of the king. She was the elder of experiments. And was fasinated by dark material. Making it herself in the wasteland.
Around this time the king had climed the mountain and was gloriaus.
He.orderf this elder to make for him an golden city, witch floats. She made the most amazing castle for him and the king was pleased. Bur the energy crystal was to powerfull. To mutch light. No balance and so the crystal corrupted. The king mad of ffear became dark and lonely in his broken throne room. The 7th elder was blasted by the crystal at an atempt healing it. The other elders when seeing that out of the coty dark creaturs came blocked the way to eden with castles and a giant doorway.
4 civil war.
After this castrastofe the light faded away. And so the energie. A war broke out 9n the last bits of energie. When manny spirits attavked the vault. The wasteland elder slaughtered everyone. Even his own soldiers. A shamed of his deeds he would always mourn in his castle.
5 fading
After this the elders made one last attempt to make deal with the dark creaturs. The krill where putted into the wasteland witch was good defendeable. And the wasteland elder could pay his debt.
The elders begin to fade as do the spirits.
