Alright let me get this before I get confused. There are Elders/Skykids/dark versions/Machines/animals and a separate entity out there somewhere from trials.

There was once a society but the structure collapsed after an incident. Along the lines there was a war. The elders are gone and we started falling out of the sky like falling birds. Some of those said kids did not make the journey and we're collecting the spirits to help free those trapped along the way while learning about our ancestors.

There are two types of skykids. And a prince in the background

I think I'm missing some information. The krill are machines for a purpose to detect and attack but why build something like that? To protect the vault or was there infighting? Also is there a factory that displays a krill being manufactured in the process? I keep seeing something about a factory but I can't find it.

There’s not a factory (for krill) seen in Sky I don’t think, other than the implications that Wasteland had some sort of factories because of all the pipes and such

But we do see some sort of factory for the Guardians when playing Journey iirc, so maybe that’s where the factory talk originates from? Not sure, I’m not familiar with the lore
Also is it confirmed somewhere that the krill were made by the Sky people? I always thought they just came from the darkness

But I checked the lining of the pipes and where they connected to. This feels more like a facility than a factory. None of the pipes are connected to machinery rather into and outside the buildings

The bones and krills all over the area was a hell to avoid especially so close to the ground so I switched perspective to higher up

It looks more like a facility holding captive fish. The boats outside and the crabs all over the place. The darkish water may be contaminated making the colors tinge turn almost completely dark

Contaminated water with environmental adaptation. Maybe experimental captivity being the half destroyed jar in the beginning

the bones are not like any of the light creatures in game so yeah

it could be a now extinct species that was used in whatever wasteland did
