A vampire can't feed off its own blood so maybe Skykids can't regenerate off their own candles because of the same idea?

Seen from this pov: when a skykid holds out a candle they may be actively keeping it lit with their very own energy, but it doesn't drain them because it's kind of a closed circuit – they would emit light and absorbe it as they do so, but it won't create "new energy" for them to recharge.

The core of the lore, I think, is to discover what is unknown by using the word "might be". The truth that cannot be found, we will try to find by thinking of possible ways/possible truth, accepting and denying others opinions until we conclude to a story that is acceptable by many/some/everyone
