no, listening to this again, six dwellings, and focusing on the spirit in the descripton

so... that leaves a few possibilities.

1. People in Sky can't age. The kid we see with the sightseer was just stuck that size for life.
2. Our aging was stopped when we became the way we are. In this way, we have lost our ability to become ancestors
3. Sky Kid isn't our species name. It's just a kid who lives in Sky. We need to be using the term "decedent" to refer to ourselves instead, no mater how hard it is to spell, because our kid might not even inherently be made of children. We might actually be capable of growing up.

4. We can become spirits, but not ancestors.

Another question is how do some spirits walk and as we see do a breathing motion. When others just get relieved.

What if there were another generation before us but they weren't able to make it through eden and died in eden.. we see some dead kids before eden cave (in the pic below) and they looks more like skykids not ancestors .. probably they died there because darkness caught them.. ik those might be left over from old beta .. but who knows ...

Could be? But I think that it's just everyone (elders and skykids) just have grey-black skin and their mask is cracked
Plus I think that they are the one who discovered that a certain amount of darkness is necessary in order to harness more light to use as energy
Then people gets greedy and soon there ended up being too much darkness, which leads to the all-around corruption of everything
As an addition to this theory, I think that the reason why there is so much darkness in GW is because of the over-usage of darkness in war weapons, and with the corruption in Eden as the cherry on top, it created/attracted krills
Or krills could be the fully-grown version of crabs. I personally headcanon crabs as just... spontaneously born whenever a place is too dark (too much darkness). Kinda like how skykids are born except for they are made of darkness instead of light.
Like axolotls, crabs are never truly full-grown in nature unless there are special conditions available. The overwhelming amount of darkness in gw/eden induced/allowed crabs to become fully-grown into krills.

The discovery of darkness being necessary for the harness of light to be used as an energy source caused the Vault elder to become kinda... regretful? I think their attidude kinda shows that?

Elders as the Seven Deadly Sins - short ver.
EDEN (Pride)- Pride as the Original Sin in concepts, and is depicted in the mural for the Eden Elder at Vault's summit. The mural seems to be a reference to the biblical Garden of Eden story, with the Eden Elder swallowing the proverbial forbidden fruit as an act of defiance against God.
PRAIRIE (Sloth)- Prairie Elder looks as though they've just been woken up from a long nap in both their first encounter and the cutscene in Orbit. Other interpretations of Sloth could be a negligence to their duties as the protector of light creatures (SkyShop Poem).
FOREST (Greed)- Forest Elder's Greed is best represented through their realm and its association with the creation of the power diamonds- and the technological boom that could have resulted from that creation. This is also subtly observed in their cutscene- impatiently taking the flame from the sky kid to fix their diamond. May also be a variant of Wrath.
VALLEY (Lust)- The Valley Twins' sin of Lust has less to do with the sexual aspect and moreso their thrill-seeking nature and indulgences of other pleasures- coveting the pursuit of personal pleasures over their worldly duties, or even their duties to the Megabird. May also be representative of Sloth and Gluttony.
WASTELAND (Wrath)- Wasteland Elder's sin of Wrath is most evident in Battlefield. It can also be observed in the general environment of Wasteland- a realm rendered useless and uninhabitable through years of war and struggle. Wrath can also be subtly seen in the possible destruction of a forest to make way for factories.
VAULT (Gluttony)- Gluttony in this case could be referred to their hoarding and consumption of knowledge rather than food- to which, she could also be representative of Lust and/or Greed.
NOT MY THEORY

ISLE (Envy)- Through the process of elimination, Isle Elder was left with the sin of Envy. To be entirely honest it was difficult trying to draw a solid connection between the Isle Elder and this sin. Observing the gate to Eden, the Isle Elder is not present- and as Envy tears a man away from his neighbor, it's possible (though uncertain) that they'd wished misfortune on the Eden/other Elders.

That island in the home space area is where the murals for the opening cutscene are located (when you first start the game as a brand new moth). It used to be possible to glitch through wind walls and some people were able to get screenshots of it back then. As for why Eden is not visible from home space, I'm not really sure. I think home is kind of just its own thing I guess

From 's memories i think crabs weren't that aggressive in ancestor's time. Murals suggested they only attacked after their habitat was disturbed

Ok now lemme make a Sky headcannon for myself RIGHT off the top of my head...
(Edit: Guess I’m gonna keep editing this so I don’t forget anything )

Who are the sky children?
The sky children were created by the megabird to bring the spirits back, as per the beginning words, “Go forth, child. Return our spirits to the stars.”

But who or what are the spirits?
The spirits are the “fallen stars” in the beginning words. They died (presumably of natural causes or war or something) and couldn’t make it to heaven. (orbit)

What about Eden?
The statues are soldiers, or weaker Sky kids that couldn’t finish their mission, or Sky children from the past or an alternate dimension, or dead skykids or something. Maybe all of them. We as the present day sky kids have to bring them back to heaven, (orbit) where they belong.

Wingbuffs?
They’re the thank yous from the spirits, or as a “good luck out there, kid...”

Anything about the king/prince?
You’re asking the wrong skykid about the king/prince. I have no idea about anything about them.

What about seasons/traveling spirits?
I... have no clue. I think MAYBE they are “visitors” from an alternate dimension or something, idk (though the theory they’re meteor showers/shooting stars is good!)

Emotes/expressions?
Sky kids are emotionless, and the spirits are teaching them how to “feel” or “express themselves”.

Other things?
A theory I thought of is that the sky child completed a different quest back in the Season of Prophecy, and instead of going (returning?) to heaven, (orbit) they chose to stay in the lost kingdom.
Evidence for this is that the seasons before Prophecy had some kind of magic or importance, and seasons after prophecy kind of didn’t. It was more about helping youth.

so like,, i have this idea that skykids and winged lights are mostly the same, and were created for whatever war happened (if there was a war)

like,, both look kinda similar, but im thinking the difference is skykids were given more light and are thus more sentient, while winged light children (whatever they're called) don't have as much soul

maybe winged light were made by the spirits to be soldiers, and when they died on the battlefield their light got scattered all around the land,, and skykids are the ones who didn't get used during the war, so they were kept in the vault of knowledge until they were awakened and given more light energy

Well from what I know, sky kids are actually a mix of darkness and light, the darkness is the body, and the light is the soul, so I’m not really sure about sky kids having more lights than winged lights..

In the Hidden Forest, where they introduce rain that can hurt skykids.

Here's the thing, they can swim in the water like lakes and rivers without taking any damage but water from the rain will.

Why is that?

The Krill may have been corrupted because darkness leaked out of Eden, which explains why the Vault may have been protected

What if....sky kids are dead? Like the homespace is limbo and the different realms are the different places where the skykids have ever been and the spirits uses to be people they knew?:pEyes:
That's why we meditate to go back to limbo and access different areas of their memories. Eden was where they all died and are now stick in limbo trying to collect fragments of themselves :SkyWingbuff: to move on to the afterlife.

Woah woah guys.
I just recently finished orbit and i flew into the portal.

I didnt get a screenshot of it, but for a split second there when i passed through it but i didnt go through, the portal had a picture of the homespace view. Similar to what we see at the normal portals at home for ex: valley: we see red sky and snowy mountains or a better reference, the "portal to home" when you exit vault to eden. You can't really see it at just first glance cuz the light of the portal is super bright. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

Reading the doc now so I'm gonna post my thoughts now lol. Seeing theories about how the krills are corrupted and evil, but I personally think they're just misunderstood. What if they attack you cause they're actually trying to play? What if they're just like giant cats playing with a tiny toy mouse, except you're the mouse

Or what if they're angry cause everyone thinks they're evil so now they've learned to become hostile towards people

Alright but all animals do things like that. A lot of the time they don't know that they're hurting you because we don't have the same forms of communication that they do, therefore we don't understand each other. Have there been theories on how krills communicate? What if in their circles it's considered disrespectful to go into their space and we've been completely ignoring their social norms?

Idk I'll just use cats as an example. A lot of people think they're mean cause they never take the time to learn how to communicate with them. Once you do it's pretty easy to find a middle ground and teach each other how to respect each other's boundaries.
Edit: also, the krills don't mind when you touch them or get near them. They only mind if you get in their line of sight. This could also be a communication thing. Maybe being in their line of sight is a sign of disrespect but it's normal for them to show casual physical affection.

Looking at the murals in the Cave in Prophecies, I noticed that these three at the bottom look like the Isle spirits. The one on the left is the Pointing Candlemaker because the drawing of him kinda looks thinner than the other spirits, he is also further away from them. And the two on the right are the Rejecting Voyager and Ushering Stargazer.

Okay so, me and my friend have been inspecting the murals inside on Forgotten Ark. so this is what we came up with:
Some light miners came on boat to mine some light. They got the light, and constructed it into elemental light, and some praying acolytes helped.
They sent the light up as fireworks and had a campfire too. There were also shorter spirits, maybe children were on the ride.
There were two different types of people, one that looks like praying acolytes and one that looks like normal people, maybe miners due to what the thing looks like, a pickaxe.
There maybe was a storm with lightning, (like Eden lightning) and a krill came over. (I am not sure of the Krills purpose.) The light creatures like mantas a butterflies seemed to fly away.
Some people with pots (like the Prairie Elders pot) came and either had some butterflies in it and/or released crabs back into the water. The crabs were in the pots originally.

Now this part is purely on guess, I think that the enchantment spirits came over after the water dried up and the boats were stuck in the sand. They drew the murals. They used the elemental light. They came and started a shop with tents and everything.
Maybe the praying acolytes hired the miners to get the light. They seemed to be the forgers.
(Note: I was not here during enchantment. I did not do any research on it. I only inspected murals. My friend, however, had been in Sky for a very long time and in enchantment.)

Also if you get closer to the sound you can get teleported back to your last checkpoint in that area safely

• Doze’s a carpenter who falls asleep on the spot, and purple light adds structures to the Ark, and turns the day to night
• Playfight’s a herbalist who definitely helped with making the various potions and spells, and orange light opens the spell shops, lights the fires, and brings the Ark back to its full glory at last

Little thing I noticed now, after my last run with TS

There is no crab in Sparkler's emote in the maze (unlike there were in Bellyscratching Spirit in Sanctuary or the DontGo Spirit in GW Graveyard, still from Belongings)

So it means the crabs infestation is quite recent

Also: the first time I experienced the fainting warrior memories (years ago, during the pre-launch beta, so they didn’t yet have a name!) when the spirit fell down in the cutscene I was like.. oh no.... this is how they died... and then proceeded to laugh very hard when my skykid performed a rather comedic version of “death”. I assumed that, since the skykids seem to learn many emotional concepts through the spirit’s memories, they had just been introduced to the concept of mortality. Then when they were named “fainting warrior” later on, I found it fun to imagine that maybe because skykids DON’T have a concept of death (as they reincarnate), they interpret it as the easier to understand idea of fainting (skykids who try to fly against strong winds understand this concept well I think), and thus know them as “fainting warrior”.

That being said, if fainting warrior really is just fainting, I am guessing it was the dark plant that caused them to not feel good! Since they seem to be running pretty well up until passing the plant, and then they fall down. The idea that the darkness causes illness probably isn’t new to the fandom (I am only just starting to participate in the discord hello) but . I thought it was interesting.

Yeah that’s true. It’s just that most other spirits don’t have memories surrounding the circumstances of their death specifically, so this would be a special case. I can see how it COULD be just that they fainted, but I agree with you. I like the idea that the skykids just don’t really understand what death is and so don’t realize that is what happened

Ever thought the wing for making us fly more higher is a heart?

Maybe! The game refers to it as "sheparding" the winged light through eden. Winged light doesn't have a cape when you initially find them, and then once you transfer that light into the stone children, they burst out from the stones with capes and are able to fly away! I sort of think that every skykid might be a combination of stone and light. The winged light are made up of pure light, and grant the ability to fly, but cannot fly on their own. The spirits/ancestors seemed to have been more "physical" (like stone) in their life, and couldn't fly (except by harvesting the light and using it to power boats and new technologies). Skykids seem like a new kind of being, a hybrid of light and stone.
