I think that, based on the shields we see in the Wasteland/Eden, that there were two factions of Sky citizens, and they may have fought one another, or maybe they fought together against a third force — anyway, the sun-symbols were more appreciative of nature while the diamond symbols sought to conquer it. Don’t know why there’s sun-shields in Eden, then. Very confusing. Might not be true at all

I'd like to offer my take on this- basically, I think the murals were telling us of how the Kingdom came to be
Someone came before us, and they succeeded in gaining the power of the elements- after which they shared that power with the other Elders
While that happened, they came across the mountain that would eventually become Eden- and that final mural shows us the Eden castle, very much whole
In addition to that, the final mural shows us the Kingdom at its peak, with the Elders working in harmony under the power of the person who completed the Trials
As for who that person was, I think it's the Prince

during this state, if they are exposed to dust, they are created as dark creatures
if they are exposed to stasis sparks, they become light creatures
if they are exposed to nothing, they become neutral
dust is parasitic. it eats up the light inside a creature and makes it constantly hungry, forcing it to be carnivorous, and hunt for external sources of light.
stasis sparks create light a lot and sustain both the light creature and the stasis sparks, and in return, the light creature takes stasis sparks to other places
neutral creatures consume small amounts of light, or none at all and usually consume organic matter.

Notice the ring around the seventh light, very similar to a winged light from far away, yeah? When a winged light is collected it "breaks" or leaves behind little fragments of light that the player can use to recharge even after they've collected it. Let's say hypothetically this ome is special-- more powerful or something. At the end of orbit, if you walk straight through the rebirth gate there is a winged light, but it isn't visible. You only know you've collected it just before the credits. In other words, I believe this one didn't fall. The light-halo around winged lights is also similar to the one around the peak of eden, visible from the other realms. That backs up my statement that this winged light is more powerful. That last winged light is part of the seventh light, and the one creating the halo around eden.
I'm not sure exactly what this could mean, i interpret it as the eden elder/prince may have gotten greedy and tried to take the seventh light, and its pieces became us, the skykids. how do you guys interpret this?

If they are coming up with a theory based solemnly on what they saw in the game, that is also fine, nobody is more right nor wrong than anyone else. The game's open ended and the amount of interpretations players can come up with is endless, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I haven’t played journey, I’m a little hesitant on it cuz of reviews on the App Store about the game being buggy and abandoned 😔 and I get what they’re going for, but after going through all the early concepts and that timeline it all seemed so cool, like there was so much to it but now it feels like sky has nothing in comparison idk if that makes any sense whatsoever 😂

The game wasn’t ported by tgc to other platforms, Sony contracted different companies to do this, Annapurna interactive are the ones responsible for the iOS port

According to my theory the eden elder was lighty's replacement so its normal they look the same...
But they cant be the same being, cuz the eden elder's trajectory starts below cloud cover, meaning the eden elder was created in those clouds...
But lighty exists above all that doesnt fall
So lighty aint the eden elder but think what you will

the thing is, there are so many contradicting theories abt the prince and the king that its rlly hard to decide which is likely at all...
that`s cuz we have been looking at this all wrong... "prince" and "king" are mere titles, nothing more... the real guy behind all this is alpha...
alpha is the one star that didnt fall in the opening cutscene... (the name isnt canon i just gave them that name)

in the opening cutscene alpha doesnt fall. alpha isnt the eden elder. thats very important... the camera focuses on the elders that fall and leaves behind alpha.
then a 7th star emerges from the clouds and lands on eden... thats the eden elder... why? cuz as canon dictates, the stars that fell in the opening cutscene are elders...
now... the eden elder and the other elders collapse, but there is still a few things falling.... now what could those be?
they are shiny and they cant be the elders cuz those have already fizzled out (they actually did... u literally have to give them your light in their temples) nothing else could have fallen.... except for alpha....
but multiple shiny things are falling... hence, alpha shattered and fell, and became the cotl.....
