I personally feel strongly about the Dark Dragons being elder creature’s corpses—twisted by the center of the Storm at Eden due to the mural art that closely resembles the concepts written about them.

Here’s a perfect example of what I’m talking about. You see this page from Tom Zhao concepts talks about Dark Stone and how it affects or “corrupts” things like the King, the descendants(Sky kids) and the Elder creatures.

Well we have literally seen descendants at the center of the Eden storm’s blast 💥 radius and they look very much like that frozen statue in the top right corner. (“The Fallen” that you return light to when you sacrifice yourself)

We’ve also seen dark stone that is jagged like the image on the lower left hand side in Eden storm’s blast 💥 radius. (The jagged red stones that hurt you if you get too close)

And we’ve also seen “Refined dark stone” like the diamond image in the top left hand corner. (The diamonds that power air ships and double doors)
