one interesting thing i found that in order to update the game and add and remove the new contents they broke the story from concept arts a little bit. Made it harder to interpret and created confusion or in their words made the story open ended. Okay here is an older theory revamped ...

Each child of light was a guiding force to the people of the sky kingdom. And I feel like one of them (much in the same way AShatan turned from Elohim) convinced the people they didn’t have to do the whole repetitive cycle of rebirth.

Basically keeping the spirits immortal and living on the planet instead of dying and evolving/recycling etc.

But this cost resources more and more as the population continued to grow (much like stuffing too much toilet paper 🧻 down the toilet 🚽) there was a back up of souls being dumped onto the planet and this rebellious child of light (maybe the king) had to be stopped.

So the elder of isle who believed in the old ways of rebirth gathered armies of creatures and loyalists to the mega bird and ....died, but in the process destroyed the corrupted child of light’s body trapping its spirit in the very invention that was used to siphon energy from the holy beacon of Megabird. Ultimately obliterating most of the warring population.

/spoiler ||I think that there used to be a blooming ecosystem in all the realms, yes, even wasteland and eden. The people built a factory for something(idk what) in wasteland(and eden!?) and brought in materials from mostly eden but also from hidden forest and a little bit from daylight prarie. Then something went wrong and krill showed up along with crabs. Infecting eden and wasteland severely, causing eternal rain and crabs in forest , and some crabs in prarie. The leaders decided to abandon the project, but tons of soldiers had already died fighting krill/crabs. They used tons of magic to seal off the worst of the evil in eden, but couldn't completely "cure" wasteland. Using the last if their magic to create the vault of knowledge, where they would store all the knowledge that they had acquired especially from the factory. To ensure that krill or any other dark creature could access the texts and/or destroy them, they created a series of locks that would protect the most precious scrolls at the vaults summit. They created children of the light, who, using their unique ability to create and carry light wherever they went would be the only beings able to ascend the vault. One last decision was made, the elders decided that once the children had scaled the vault they were ready to venture to eden. They created an entrance to eden, and a way back to the home space if the children needed to prepare||
