If you see closely all of the rocks that are falling are from that broken palace. My theory is that those red rocks in eden are actually falling peices of that palace and when they react with eden crystal they turn red

I have heard power diamonds (any diamond shaped gem that powers technology and is usually the door openers) used to be called dark stone. I think thats changed and now the nasty angry little red crystals in eden are dark stone.

So I am/was exploring the depths of the vault room where you find the purple light.
There’s a pit that goes on an insane amount of time, and at the bottom, a darkness so pervasive that you can’t even see yourself chirp or deep call. It’s just. Pitch black. It’s a little unnerving. Since I can’t see anything (and can’t use deep call to see silhouettes or shapes against the black) I can’t tell how big the space is.

I think that the symbols on the golden bells and giant cubes within the Vault are like spells or incantations that can manipulate light somehow. As seen in the prairie and forest, when the bells ring they bring light animals to them. The giant cubes are also said to contain large amounts of information and the symbols on them are supposed to be reminiscent of seals.
@exotic berry Maybe the reason why the vault is such a dark place is because all the light has been sealed away into cubes and lanterns. There are only dark creatures in the decaying parts. Krill obviously can’t get in because the Vault is sealed.

I was also wondering who the fella in the center was in the intro. I think I settled on it being the Prince and he did fall, after the others as the little circle shiny dealie that looked like the halos around him. But it still does not read pretty that it looked like it stays while the others fall....and if white glowboy is Prince, and not just a star in general, then he fell in Isle, not Eden.

THE PRINCE IS THE PROGENITOR OF ALL SKY KIDS
Disclaimer: This theory rides on a lot of what-if's and is built on heavy amounts of speculation.
Theories mentioned: Prince is split into the sky kids, Winged Lights are Prince's memories, Prince is the same person as the King, Prince/King is the Eden Elder
Assuming that the Prince is the Child of Light and that the Winged Light- imprints of the Child of Light- work the same way that the spirit memories did, he has several scattered memories throughout the lands. Currently, there are 92 Winged Light scattered throughout the lands, excluding the Wing Buffs granted to you by Ascended Spirits. The Prince's memories of the Kingdom are extensive and vast- as seen by the various locations of the Winged Lights- but there is a worrying amount of his memories gathered just before the Point of No Return in Eden. Eight of them are found in the final temple before heading into the Eye of Eden- simply crouching by the statues. These Winged Light are quite unlike the other ones we'd encountered until now- hunched over instead of standing.
Because these memories are found in various areas of the Kingdom where the Kingdom is in a dilapidated state, it's possible that the Prince himself must have undergone the same death and rebirth process as we have once- but rather than it being a simple case of him just throwing himself into the same loop over and over again, think of it as him being in a downward spiral instead. Every time he fails and dies, the way that time had worked until then cracked and broke a little more. Eventually he hits the bottom of that downward spiral- a singularity, if you will- and that final memory before the Point of No Return was his last attempt before karmic destiny eventually came and took him- and this was perhaps what caused the splitting of the Prince into several consciousnesses. Each scattered fragment of him becomes a sky kid in order to mitigate the damage he's done to the timeline. Perhaps this is why he is 'not around to be saved anymore'- because he becomes what we now know as sky kids.

My theory is that the skids were send by elder spirits to return the light.
Not exactly elders of the realm but the king.
As you can see in the isle album there were dead skids those might be the ones that died before returning the light and couldn't repeat the cycle.
So we might've been sent just to gather light and return it to the sky. But to whom all elders are dead who are we returning the light to?
Also i don't think the stars are actually connected to the lore they might be there for the game play. As the stars were added very late in the game

it seems like the middle part of vault is destroyed too, but the top part seems to be intact despite it being closest to eden so I assume it wasn't the explosion from eden that destroyed vault but correct me if I'm wrong
