There are broken bridges in the first area of GW with either gold or silver trimming; I’m specifically thinking of the areas with dark plants. I wonder if the water had always been there, and it was a park-like area with aesthetic ponds. The bridge leading to Prairie Temple may be a good idea of what they looked like whole, but maybe it’s too wide. I’ll take a look.The architecture also seems reminiscent of Valley as well.

Worth noting, it’s also been said that Valley was the focal point of the kingdom’s civilization. That’s not to say GW wasn’t the capitol or important— oof. I tangent.

I think that krill are skykids who lost all their wl and nobody was there to save them, so they died with bitterness in their heart. That’s how they become krill, trying to take revenge on their fellow skykids because they didn’t save them.

Or || the krill are the first skykids who went through Eden, or in the dark gw, so when they died they were confused and angry and bitter, and that turned them into the krill. ||

Before talking about the war you need to know a importsnt event in my theoru

Which is the diamond revolution

Diamonds itself are spread all over sky and require light to work

Its power is massive but the production of this diamonds is highly contaminating

Golden wasteland was chosen to be the industrial core of the kingdom

This industralization lead to massive polution and use of light

Rotting the land and intoxicating the lifeforms there

The prince/king/emperor was fine with this, it was part of the road the kingdom needed to become stronger and wealthier

At some point a rebellion sparked

Mainly lead by people who couldnt tolerate the polution of the enviroment

This rebellion escalated into a civil war

Which at first managed to kick the kingdom's forces out of their capital at valley of triumph

This lead the kingdom to produce a specialized weapon

That would hunt the rebel forces

The krill (yes i do believe krills are machines)

This machine was designed to be a light exterminator

The war escalated and became more and more brutal

Leading to the battle of golden wasteland

During the battle a new diamond was being created

Project eden consisted of the creation of a ultra powerful diamond enough to power the enterity of the kingdom's forces

The battle of golden wasteland ended in a phyrric victory for the rebels

Lesding the kingdom's forces to escape into the vault of knowledge

A fight too was fought inside the vault

this is why a little graveyard is on vault, and this is why some areas are destroyed

The battle ended in a victory for the kingdom's forces, which gaved them time to fortify their new diamond factory located at the top of the mountain

This is why a massive wall guards eden's entrance

Trenches were built, walls were built, even krills were brought to aid the defense of the eden diamond

The king/prince/emperor was sure the eden diamond was the key for victory

Rebel forces launched a final assault to end the king's rule leading to the battle of eden

During this battle the eden diamond was first activated

Unleashing its massive power against everything and everyone located near the top of the mountain

Leading to a chatastrophic loss of life for both sides

The king/prince/emperor died or merged with the diamond

Many soldiers died by krills or rocks being thrown by eden diamond

Leading to a war with no winner

The last survivors knowing it was the end of their civilization created a small vessel

Who with light it may successfully ascend to the universe or finally destroy the eden diamond

The skykid was born

As more skykids were created a new cycle of life and death began

This skykids evolved from being just machines to being sentient entities

Having emotions, feelings

And began to learn the story of the ruined civilization among them

Its not sure what will happen in a future

But its sure that from a kingdom ruined by war

A new species may ascend and maybe destroy the eden diamond

The kingdom's age has ended and starting the skykid era

Thats my theory as a whole

yes, it's all very open to interpretation and that's kind of part of the appeal of the game. everything is told in vague imagery, with ruins and puzzles and memories and colours, not explaining in text or stories. it all feels like a strange and mysterious world we can look at with the eyes of a child
