Considering ability of each boats (in air/water/sand), imo hover as well. The wings seem like just an accesory... The boat to Ark area in GW flaps and flaps looks like the main propulsion, though movements has no changes in either of water, air and clouds SkyShrug

The one we ride in gw is a normal var 1 boat with triangle design similar to the one in sanc and forest SA while the one we ride in ark is a style similar to sleepy Traveler's, a bench and no design

We speculate that the diamond blew up and that’s what caused Eden to look like it does, ~~and in my personal headcanon, why we have light-charging clouds~~.

We do know for certain that the diamond is fractured though.

If you find yourself in EoE, and feel curious enough, get as close as you can to the diamond, and watch it shiver. You’ll see different sections pull away just slightly In different directions, showing fractures.

The background is purely speculative, but we can go off of a few points.

Point 1: concept art refers to the dark diamonds as absorbing light, and this discovery pushing the ancestors into a new age of prosperity and innovation. This might be what’s hinted at when you enter Hidden Forest and see it’s caption of “find the source of the ancestor’s power” or something to that effect.

Point 2: GW is more heavily industrialized than any other map, with pipes feeding from the shipwreck bay into the mountains and ultimately to the end of the map leading to Vault. The from the shipwreck we can assume that it was a source of large amounts of fuel being imported and quickly shuttled off. We also know that fuel demands were high because there’s a wrecked manta juicer in the Krill-eats-the-Manta room. This implies there being either a lot of little somethings needing fuel, or a very large something.

Point 3: something very important happened to the crowned figure in Vault Elder’s mural, where they’re holding an orb. Given @lethal stump ‘s providing the aesthetic lore doc sheet, we can assume (which we do a lot of) that the orb/circle/sphere the crowned figure holds is either literally a fragment of Megan’s fire, or their aspiration to hold it. The Cave of Prophecies’ mural also shows something very important happening atop a mountain, so it’s possible this references in some way the diamond, but that’s convoluting for our purposes atm. That mural can be taken in several different ways.

Given these things, we can assume that the Eden Diamond is the largest diamond the ancestors undertook to making, and it was either intended to fully power all of the capital/kingdom, or that it was a way for King to elevate and ascend (this term isn’t really concretely defined in our circle, but could be anything from ascending to Megan’s level, or just becoming godlike in the vaguest sense of the term.)

Writing this, it might have been King’s attempt to harvest Megan-

herself and show himself as supreme figure, subjugating godbird and using it as a source of fuel instead of a figure of life. But who knows. We could go on and on but that message apparently wasn’t like by the bots. Haha

King isn’t someone we meet in person, but played a heavy hand in early concept art. The only sign of him personally we see are his statues, having his face mask.

In the early stages of the story design, king would have played a bigger role.

Ah yes I've added the boats in the shipwreck (I can't see the other end of the others but it's safe to assume that they're variation 1 and I've also been taking note about the triangle marks on one of the boat's end, trying to make a link of something (someone mentioned this before, it might be their point of origin like how the ark has the SeasonEnchantment symbol) and so far I've noticed that only variation 2 boats have that.

So I’m thinking that boatyards had bodies of water around them for landing, and just did a basic lift off when they, well, lifted off. Bodies of water include the pond on top of the cloud-cliff-cave in Isle, the ocean in Sanc, creek water and lakes/ponds in HF, etc.

I also wonder if the courtyard in HF could have been willingly flooded to allow for boat docking, and then drained when not needed. The culvert has these tubes, which could potentially lead to water, but we have no proof of this, and I can’t find any drains for, y’know, draining the water.

If anyone is trying to explore the courtyard for any length of time, when you enter the courtyard, fly black over the wall (not deeper into the forest, but back towards the social area) and go until the rain stops (not far.) It ended up causing the rain to stop falling for me, so now I can look to my heart’s content. Also, weird purple texture in culvert.

Yes, but for all we know the mural would have been made after the courtyard had been abandoned. The lowest point of it is actually made of worked stone and is rather fancy, which suggests like everything else, it’s been abandoned for a long time. Earth has been accumulating for a while, which is why we see some dirt, so that means we don’t have an accurate sense of when things happened.

Red flags are found throughout Eden but not Wasteland.

Also, all spirits seem to have a diamond on their chest except for:

Cheerful Spectator
Stealthy Survivor
Hide n’ Seek Pioneer
Blushing Prospector

These specific spirits are plainly dressed, and have the vaguest of features. Were they of lower classes? I saw a picture or two of Valley’s concept art that had different sections designated as either for the affluent or the impoverished/working class.

cheerful spectator is in the valley stadium, so she could be a rich musician there

stealthy guy could be a vet soldier or a spy. either way, a generously paid profession

hide'n'seek spirit has like... the sharpest haircut in that map ||and probably 8ft tall without the mask, so, physical uniqueness can be greatly valued-||

and the blushing kid has a person carrying an umbrella for her. not only it can be her boyfriend, it could also be her servant/assistant-
