THE PRINCE IS THE PROGENITOR OF ALL SKY KIDS
Disclaimer: This theory rides on a lot of what-if's and is built on heavy amounts of speculation.
Theories mentioned: Prince is split into the sky kids, Winged Lights are Prince's memories
Assuming that the Prince is the Child of Light and that the Winged Light- imprints of the Child of Light- work the same way that the spirit memories did, he has several scattered memories throughout the lands. Currently, there are 92 Winged Light scattered throughout the lands, excluding the Wing Buffs granted to you by Ascended Spirits. The Prince's memories of the Kingdom are extensive and vast- as seen by the various locations of the Winged Lights- but there is a worrying amount of his memories gathered just before the Point of No Return in Eden. Eight of them are found in the final temple before heading into the Eye of Eden- simply crouching by the statues. These Winged Light are quite unlike the other ones we'd encountered until now- hunched over instead of standing.
Because these memories are found in various areas of the Kingdom where the Kingdom is in a dilapidated state, it's possible that the Prince himself must have undergone the same death and rebirth process as we have once- but rather than it being a simple case of him just throwing himself into the same loop over and over again, think of it as him being in a downward spiral instead. Every time he fails and dies, the way that time had worked until them cracked and broke a little more. Eventually he hits the bottom of that downward spiral- a singularity, if you will- and that final memory before the Point of No Return was his last attempt before karmic destiny eventually came and took him- and this was perhaps what caused the splitting of the Prince into several consciousnesses. Each scattered fragment of him becomes a sky kid in order to mitigate the damage he's done to the timeline. Perhaps this is why he is 'not around to be saved anymore'- because he becomes what we now know as sky kids.

Iirc, one theory is that the elements in Sky became mixed together causing chaos, and someone mentioned the prince who gained all of the elements' power and mixed it at the location of the Eden diamond
I kinda wonder if eventually the power diamond in Eden became tired and corrupt, to where it snapped and became more of a bomb instead. It originally was made to power everything but it couldn't take it all in anymore overtime.

Leading into another question, what is our existence for? Take into the example that what if multiplayer wasn’t exactly part of the lore? We would essentially be alone in this universe since we have the exact same story. Now.. what happened? We RELIVE spirit memories, they don’t happen in real time right? So we’re learning how to communicate and learn how to use emotions through these literally dead people. What is our purpose? Is it to free the souls trapped in the stone statues?

We're drawn to the light. Maybe we don't know anything about what we're about to face, we're just attracted to the light.
