I'm gonna follow my theory with this one but the eden diamond depends on the balance of things to be stable but stuff started to happen, war happened, darkness fell and corrupted the lands and that balance was broken, making the diamond explode

Maybe the elemental lights were given to the elders with the corresponding wisdoms to maintain that balance too

So skid's hearts are just light. We take our that light and put it on a candle.

When traveling in orbit, we fly to the giant light orb. Maybe that's representing a skid's heart. The frame we walk into represents the candle we hold, which is why we see our candle at the end of the ending credits.

The stars in forms of lines can resemble a skid's nerves or veins, or both.

Megan could represent consciousness.
