it could be as simple as a sign of wear and tear to emphasise the outdatedness/damage vault has seen due to eden boom/just generally having been there for way too long

Maybe vault has more magic and that’s why it’s more intact than the buildings in valley or wasteland

And Vault is right before Eden location wise. Maybe Vault was built with sturdier materials. Or after Eden?
Or maybe it's the power diamonds holding it intact.

So my theory is that the actual vault was pulverized from the eden diamond fracture. But the vault elder was cleverer that that, she had probably created a spell to sustain the knowledge even though the vault was destroyed

Well, the lanterns PROBABLY did the projections but it wouldnt really add up since when you finished vault and entered Eden, the elevator is broken and there's actually a floor. Unless the lamps are also in the dream- Ehhhh-

my theory about this photo:
in earth ( somewhere in sky) where we are, we call the stars shooting stars or falling stars. in sky, this is where those stars land. they have a entirely different way of calling these shooting stars, which are called Children Of The Light. I think that the place in orbit is space, and the sun is the core thing you fly in to rebirth. once we rebirth ( enter the portal ) we fall from the core in space and become anew.

theory: cotls fell to the earth as stars then gave light to ancestors for technical advancement. when everything goes south years later and eden falls, they want to stop the tech from going rogue, but having given light makes them not made of light anymore so they die as statues

Theory: Eye of Eden is technically one big diamond that powers the technology (well, if you use it right it won't absorb all light (like, just a specific amount) But then something happened (prolly Prince uhh abuse the power-?) and the eye suddenly Absorb almost every light. But not all. Well, some light creatures were affected. That's why Manta turned to krills or Vault is kinda destroyed and the explosion also polluted the water which causes the toxic water in GW. Though forest was not that affected in the explosion (well, kinda) that's why their water is acid. Valley was prolly heavily protected by the elders magic so as other realms (I mean, they used their magic to make the effects of the explosion not really damage the realm.) About Isle's drought..well, might be a sandstorm (got the sandstorm from a reddit post so credit belongs to them) That's all, lol

Given just how close Vault and Wasteland are to each other, geographically speaking. WE and VE probably had a lot of time to interact with each other. Over time their friendship probably grew and grew, probably even evolving from a simple friendship to a secret relationship.

Now you might wonder, why would it be secret? Well given how tyrannical the King appears to be, if he found out his General and the Head Scholar were in love, it'd probably mean a downfall to his civilization. So they kept it hush hush, only really showing their love in private.

Then, war came to the civilzation. Y'know, whatever caused the Wasteland to become a wasteland.

His soldiers fought well but he was pushed back to where his grave is now, sure he managed to fight off the forces of darkness there, but his wounds got to him. And he fell upon the rocks, with the Scholars coming out to create the grave for him. They then went back into their vault and become ghosts, now don't get me started on the weird pocket dimension-type tomfoolery that is vault that's its own can-of-worms.

In this , we see a blue coloured light, which represents the element, water. I think this realm is forest, since we are seeing that it's raining and a river is forming , which is exactly what happens/happened in forest

represnts the element, earth. The mural has a place with grasslands and blooms which screams daylight prarie, since it has a lot of blooms and green earthy grass

Here, we see a cyan light which represents the element air, and the mural suggests that this place is valley, and is a depiction of either race, since we are seeing frontward winds and floating platforms. And the clouds are at the base, just like in the races.

This is a red coloured light , which represents the element fire. I think this realm is the golden wasteland. Surprised? Me too. We can see that the trees are being put on fire here. Well why? I think maybe to clear land for building an industrial area. Also, the top cloud is shaped very much like a krill, which further suggests that the dark dragons in wasteland were formed due to the pollution caused or darkness released by the burning of trees

Conclusion
What I want to say is that, maybe, earlier, all the relams had nothing, forest had no water/rain, prarie had no blooms, valley had no wind and wasteland was a peaceful forest. So, when these elemental lights were brought in the realms, they produced their elements due to which we see what we have today.

Here, the real life explanation would be that there r no cape shadows cuz those would make our phones catch fire, but the in universe reason is that:
