Then how do moths exist? The brown wings obviously don't come from any spirit, and neither does the default hair.
How do some of the friend emotes exist? You just unlock those with candles.
This might be a stupid question, because obviously you need wings and stuff, so from a gaming standpoint, it wouldn't matter, but this is about the lore...

The reason why the capes dont have shadows is because the devs said they have problems with it

yes, from the screenshot jay sent above, capes don't have shadows due to tech limitations. but any lore theories for why they do not produce shadows are welcome too

the capes are translucent though, you can see the shadow of your skykid's body through it

The capes are just an extension / adaptation. What I’m saying is that. Sky kid’s can be different types. If they adapted more on the ground then they have to rely on their feet or their arms which strengthens them (super strength)

Or, if sky kids / the elders decided to live in a misty / foggy area then sky kids would need to rely on vision therefore their light is enhancing that ability. But since we are sky kids, we gain our capes from the extra light from the winged light, this also applies if we had different adaptations i explained earlier
