I think that the ancestors just fell along with the elders, and thats why we ascend them, their constellations are also shown to be there in the sky before the fall as we see in the first cutscene and also each spirit is represented by its own star in the constellation. the only evidence i see contradicting this is the murals in isle which show people already beng there on the ground

Judging by the trailer, there is were some kind of statue/pillar things we saw. Each represents an animal. If you remember the elder concept art from back when 7days things were shown, the elders were based off of animals. I'm mostly getting this idea through the spider-like statue we saw. This looks almost like the 1st or 3rd version of wasteland elder concept. There are other elder concepts, such as lion or bird that again, looks like the statues. Now, let's go back to the kind of canon thing that's listed in the google doc: elders aren't physically in the temples. So if we connect this idea and the animal statue idea... I'm getting the conclusion that this might be where elders lie. Where they are at. But we only see 4 statues right? so what if the elders are divided into 2 groups. The group who believed in the prophecies, vs. who have not. The ones who didn't believe in prophecies may have brought down the whole kingdom/environment. Maybe that's why they are mostly represented as land animal. Because unlike sky creatures that flies and doesn't "touch" the land most of the time, land animals are always touching ruining the environment. The sky creatures that flies also includes us. You can see how it compares to spirits/elders who doesn't fly. That's all. Sorry it's kinda messy. Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk.

My theory is that its about the prince/king when they fell. That in the cave mural of the teaser we see him uncorrupted on the left (blue clr) and probs corrupted on the right (red clr)
