The king didn’t listen about releasing the crystal.
The members were trying to tell the king (or someone else) to not activate the crystal but when he didn’t listen, he vanished to dust.

Okay ive finally caught up
Looking at it, I believe it will be somewhere in vault. The theme of blue is what gives me the most clues really.
However, vault has always had a more “noble” feeling to it. Looking at the second spirit on the left, it definitely looks like it would be at minimum of a more noble status. The sharp shoulder pads and intricate cape design has major nobility vibes.

With the middle spirit, ive seen some people theorizing it may be bongos, but I believe it may be the prophecy mentioned. If you look closely, it looks like there is a thin string holding it together, like a scroll.
I believe these may be nobility sent to warn the elders, more specifically the king, about the prophesy

okay my top theories:
-prophecy is about the beginning of the new generation, the creation of sky children.

-the prophecy is about the return of the king from the fallen kingdom, but without the spirits and your help something could happen and strike disaster.

-the prophecy is from the past about losing the light or something, and the five spirits were trying to convince the king but either the king, or the elder spirits ignored the five spirits which led to the loss of light (because apparently it was the elders fault for losing the light). that's why in the beginning cutscene it says "if only they listened." perhaps if only they listened to the prophecy? the 'they' could be the elders or the king.

-i heard someone say that maybe something is happening is eden with a certain risky prophecy but only one spirit can go through, so that's why there's only five spirits in front of what could be an entrance to eden.

-it could all take place in the sanctuary islands because the light emanating could be from the gap in those sanctuary islands and it's just an extension to the season or something.

My guess is the King was ignorant, didn’t listen to the prophecy his Advisor (who I speculate to be is the Isle Elder) spoke, this led to the downfall of Eden, which was once a flourishing Kingdom that was brought down by darkness, then the battle which took place in GW where the beings of light tried to fight back against the encroaching darkness, and in the end, the darkness was not defeated, but it was sealed so that the majority of it is now gone, remnants still remain such as Krill, crabs, and other things. Now the darkness is beginning to break its seal and it wants to rain destruction all over Sky.

The vault has vibes of nobility and philosophy, as it is “the vault of knowledge”. The inhabitants here would most likely be trusted nobility who are keepers of knowledge.

The ones in the promo image specifically seem to be very important. People have mentioned how they all have stone masks, and one of them seems to be a warrior type individual. I believe they would have been sent on a possibly dangerous mission to deliver the prophecy to the king

I'm thinking that the silhouette in the promo image doesn't match up well with the king. I think it matches better with the figure we see in the scholar statues in Eden. That's important because up until now we had no known function for the scholar, so here's my theory: that scholar may be the "royal prophet" who is revered and kept close to the king due to their prophecies. My take on the theory of this prophecy:
In the beginning、 the prince was destined to rule、 with the elders as his advisers。When he was crowned king、 a prophecy was foretold of time when the kingdom would fall。The Isle elder being the one who foretold this to the king。 the king angered by this news、 caused the stars/elders to fall and land on the earth。the king’s anger being the reason why the isle elders mask is so bashed。from the earth、 the elders decide to recreate their former civilization on earth。Resulting in the rise and fall of this civilization due to industrialization and strive for power and false。

the vault、 where memories and knowledge are said to be held、holds the spirits of the beings who were foretold to come after the fall of civilization。 but they cannot accomplish this task without the aid of the light of the skykids。

One spirit in particular seems to be dressed more noble, but the others dont share that theme. One spirit on the right had a cape that appeared to be tattered and ruined. Either way, them all seem to have an ominous, almost threatening vibe to them.
“Beware the prophecy”, going off the false prophecy theory, could be saying “beware” as calling to the fact that it is fake. Constructing a false prophecy to spin the king or other elders to ruin their world without them even knowing

Two things on the "regal" one:

1. the mask seems more like a crab to me, it has little protrusions beneath it too.
2. the cape has a very small dark tail underneath it, it's especially prnounced in the version of the image posted on twitter, not sure what it implies... corruption maybe?

Also, I think one important thing to note is that spirits are almost never shown with their backs to us in promotional images, it might be because of their masks.

I don't think the other realms are at risk and I don't think there are going to be big area changes outside of new instances being added, because that might worsen the experience for new players

A prophecy makes me think this is from a long time ago, so I like the idea of it being from the time of the king. And it could also indicate a cycle, like the idea of rebirth and said above about "they never listened" tying into the idea of beware. As if its a warning to us to not make the same mistakes as those who came before us

I feel like a lot of people are looking for evil or malicious spirits to blame the world's problems on, but so far we don't have any concrete evidence of spirits showing malice. We shouldn't be assuming that these spirits are bad when we haven't met truly bad spirits yet, just a few grumpy ones,
if we do meet bad spirits, then this could be reconsidered, but the rule needs exceptions before we assume it isn't a rule

Maybe the prophecy could be about breaking the cycle? If it is about new beginnings? The beware makes it ominous, but it could include the story of what went wrong after ignoring the prophecy, and then how things ended up after. This makes me think that it would be in vault, since it would have to do with spreading knowledge of the past to the future.

i will return to talk more soon, but late night homework calls. but before i go, i remember discussions on wastelands being a battleground with cannons and more power diamond factories (butterfly and mantis grinders). its possible krill were used in warfare. also @high bison it was a popular topic in the spring i believe. an intact example is the temple in forest. early drawings and such indicate it was used for the creation of power diamonds, which we think were used to power pretty much everything. those are the little crystals you light up to open doors. i think that the red rocks and the big cracked red diamond in the center of eden are corrupted power crystals that suck light energy from creatures of light. maybe the ancestors got too greedy for power and created a power diamond that was too unstable and resulted in the destruction of eden

My full theory: These 5 spirits were the ones who created the Eye of Eden. The Eye went beserk, the spirits all died from the beserkness.

The beam of light seems to be a glowing waterfall, why would it suddenly stop near the head of the Monarch’s silhouette? Also parts of it are wider or skinnier than others. That’s quite a weird looking beam of light.

I feel like the ancestors/elders never came from the stars, since these two pieces of concept art show them as closer to the darkness. And when you enter the cave at the beginning of the Isle, you see figures praying to the stars, and then the stars fall, implying there were already people in the area that would become the sky kingdom.

the blue dot might only be the blue light you see when relieving a spirits memories, or the blue arrow thing you see when you are lighting the spirits silhouette after relieving it's memories

If it's a new realm that's going to answer some lore questions it would be nice.
I read a while ago in some interview that the devs wanted to add new areas and maybe new realms to the game so it's possible.

Oh boy, were you guys here an hour ago? I don't mean to sound rude but, we covered a lot of this stuff. The masks are from the concept art when the game was in development, they are in a cave, because last time i checked clouds don't have grass on them, its most likely not a season as there are only five spirits as opposed to the six, plus the season guide. The "spirit" in the middle is also way too short to be a spirit, which we never got to i think.
