So in Eden at the crystal there are children consumed by darkness. When we get through the final part of Eden they thank us for helping them. I think they were trying to go through Eden by themselves and got too far. Darkness slowly consumed them until they couldn’t move anymore...then when we come along and give them our wings this helps them break through the darkness and continue in their journey

In relation to the whole "giving plants light"... Maybe that explains the final scene. The sky kid you're carying keeps giving and giving and giving while we keep taking and taking and taking (to give to our own people). After we take literally everything else, they know that we need whatever the kid has left to get out alive, which they offer. But they underestimate our willingness to friend anything that looks remotely friend shaped, and are surprised when we give (granted, we don't have a lot to give...)
The whole "about to be reborn part was likely because they once again gave - that time giving us ourselves.

Oreo is not a resurrection, but a recharge. You can tell by his behavior tbat while he's awake, he uses a lot of energy. This is exausting for the pupper and causes him to have to go to sleep often, in his favorite napping spot.
The sky kids shown are bringing high capacity butterflies near Oreo's napping spot, allowing them to recharge him faster than he uses his energy. Thus, Oreo awakens!

The home space is probably near Horizon (the land of sky bc that's where land and sky meet), but not directly part of it, as it needs to be an area reachable from space when Horizon is too covered in clouds and darkness to be safe to yeet children into.

but there's this thing, when I was looking at the door of eden I saw that the Isle elder's mask/head isn't there, I remembered that his mask/head was crushed

It’s based on an old beta model that meant the isle level didn’t really....count as a level
So it didn’t contribute to opening the door to eden. But modern lore ig it jus means that isle still doesn’t rlly count as a level

well, it’s funky
as Munchie said, i think at first Wasteland was a vast source of resources, and was perfect for the industrialization which eventually became of it. i think at first it was regulated, the industry. But the king, and possibly other elders, were like « well we can do more » but wasteland elder was like « no that’ll ruin the ecosystem, we can’t industrialize any more » which spiralled into a civil war of the king’s army vs wasteland’s army (and anyone else who supported them).
i think the reason wasteland’s statue-throne-thing is cracked is because he probably died, and since he commited treason, was no longer considered an elder, and his statue damaged
wasteland then became a secondary domain of the king, hence all the statues of him literally everywhere, and he industrialized to his hearts content.
mind you very little of this is based on stuff in-game. its just...a story. that’s how i tend to make theories, so take it with a grain of salt ^^

After you think of it (Isle, Prairie, Rainforest, Triumph, Golden, Knowledge, Eden as birth, childhood, youth, adulthood, midlife, death), it makes more clear to me what every level represents.

I think in one of the pins, there's a video of jenova explaining the journey to Sky...he said they drew inspiration from Disney and Miyazaki movies because they are appealing to all generations.

@sacred rapids the cosmic whale on the fourth level of Vault isn't a manta, there's baby cosmic whales floating around their head; there's also canon saying that mantas are born the size they are for example the praire mantas are literally summoned into existence when we ring/light the three bell towers (we learn this in a TGC video)
Mantas being born the size they were makes a lot of sense actually, because Sky kids and the Elders are the same, there's a live stream where we're told that the Elders were always Elders and never young

They may have been created by the megabird with the knowledge of how to lead and build; or maybe they spent a long time in Orbit as part of the megabird where they learnt how to lead; or maybe they were simply the first to be created in orbit before any ancestors were created

I thought kids were made for the sole purpose of bringing back the light to the ancestors, which is why kids have diamonds on their foreheads? Also the megabird isn't really a single being right? It's more like a collective thingy where kids, ancestors, and creatures are connected making up the megabird itself?

The megabird is a collective yes, likely a hivemind too with a voice of its own and probably the narrator of the intro

In my opinion they're the spirits of other skykids, and in Eden, you give them back to those kids being stoned in no return

@merry kestrel thé ancestors are totally the bad guys this is pretty much canon they harvested butterflies for crying out loudthen they made a darkstone so big that when it broke it released the storm and hecked up the entire world that we can see

ive always had a « fallen angel » theory with the elders
similar to the story of lucifer, they went against megabird and so were cast from the stars and had to prove themselves by being good in sky, but they messed up and so fell again

In my first run through of sky, I saw it as a cautionary tale. The butterflies were taken, and temples built, and ancient knowlege found but who ever was in wasteland and eden took it too far and corrupted the land. So the evil and darkness manifested into mushrooms and krill. The evilness there spread to the untouched worlds and the people within them fell. Like um... pollution?

part of it seems to be that we're helping the elders return to the stars. it seems like we're helping the spirits go be with the stars too.
i'm not sure exactly what the winged light means though.
