A lot of theories (including mine) states that the power diamonds started all the corruption and after being desperate for power they created a huge power diamond, one that gives a whole lot of power and since eden is actually the biggest city, I’m guessing that power diamond was meant to power that whole thing. I’m guessing it grew out of control and then boom 💥
If u don’t know what power diamonds are, they are the things that sky used for technology and the hidden forest forged them

Oh it was very simple, you’d place the table inside the wind wall and manage to sit there. When you moved the table, you would move with it and keep sitting down so you were kinda stuck inside the wind
It caused a lot of loud, disruptive wind sound effects on the whole level though
That’s why it probably got patched (and oob shenanigans)
Now you can’t move the table while sitting, and being inside the wind makes you stand up. RIP

I don’t see the cutscenes as flashbacks, but more of small interactions we can take with the elders by meditating at their shrine, as we are able to interact with them.

@modest sequoia I think I might know what that is! This is a screenshot from the room with the kid, but you can see the outside of the red rain eden from afar. Maybe what you saw is the structure on the left? It doesn’t look like the Eden oob from before but, as far as I know, there is no way to get there to confirm

There’s two kinds of eden oob, one inside the clouds, and one outside the clouds, and there multiple paths between each of them
Should only need to move around to below where the diamond is while outside and then move up towards it, if I’m not mistaken

It’s suspected that it’s a battle between good and evil, the good being sun logo (also on wasteland elders sheild) and bad being diamond (resembles eden kings mask, presumably once under rule of all judging by the fact it is also on forest elders forehead)

@Ramen#7194 said that stars (my interpretation for stars is winged lights) are the children in eden who died on the way and I don’t think he’s that wrong, maybe the reason why we give winged lights to them is because the winged light is like spirit/soul of the kids in eden and the children there can’t go to orbit without their spirit/soul and we need to help them get there just like the spirits because they are trapped in like the stone that covers them, it would really help if someone put the children breaking free, though I’ll go to Eden tomorrow if someone doesn’t post it. Again, I give credit to @Ramen#7194 . I put this here because no one talked about it when ramen posted it and people don’t really talk about winged lights in lore much so it would be nice to add them. This is solely my interpretation on what little things ramen said about the topic, so his idea might not be the same as my idea.

from what im seeing it looks like darkness is taking over since the kingdom itself, aside from the light and dark creatures, is in ruins
it seems to spread as the game updates, and the lore expands as well
i believe before there was a balance between light and dark but in present times theres an imbalance of it. with no one to care for the kingdom aside from our characters, the darkness always comes back (if we’re gonna say that the dark plants that regrows isnt just part of gameplay but lore too)

I agree. It looks like children of light, our characters, are meant to stave off the darkness. I wonder if we are a relatively new thing, then. A kind of response to the growing darkness. Like, spirits strike me as being the past residents of Sky. But they are now, for the most part, just memories that we grow from.
While our characters are really blank slates. We are reborn. But I don’t think that implies we have always been around.
I think the Krill consume light. You end up with no light when you are attacked.

im positive spirits lived in the sky kingdom. the spirits in prairie shows a good deal of residents doing their jobs
in the introduction cutscene when you boot up the game for the first time, it says a quote something like “now i call to you; bring our lost stars home”

But maybe your winged light represents a child of light. That’s something that they can’t consume. But by Krill wresting it from you, that winged light, or the child of light, it doesn’t seem like it can exist very long without a host. Kind of like a flame without a wick.

i believe that sky kids arent really made of pure light. i mean, we have a rock-like body when we dont have flame, and we lose all colour and our hair when we lose flame too. kinda like... clay that hasnt been painted over yet?
i like to think that the skykids are just baked clay. molded and placed into the kingdom with a purpose
in the livestreams (canon stuff pinned in the channel) the devs stated that light creatures were made of light. in prairie we can see them emerge from the clouds in the last area’s big cutscene
a lot of the stuff here is just assumptions. idk if i remember reading that krills do consume light or if thats just a theory that somehow merged with my “canon-lore-stuff”

Yea, dark things eat light, take for instance the dark plants that grow on the butterfly pots. Now that I think about it, krills aren’t knocking wings off, they’re eating all your light, and it’s because all your light has been eaten that you drop the wings. They go flying bc krills are violent. Dunno why they’d keep attacking tho, maybe looking for more light

Something that's always bothered me, the hallway to the final section of Eden.
That's the "original" entrance to Eden, right? Like that's the entry-way spirits and elders used to use, right? Why does it feel like its still "under-construction", bare rock n' all. Would't it have been more polished, murals and artwork and everything?
Or is it something "we" did? Did the sky-kids that came before us tunnel into Eden in a desperate effort to disable it. Or use it to ascend or whatever

I feel like it may have always been that way, buildings in Sky are always a little rough around the edges, or it was a back entrance, one that was used by the smaller beings, (as far as we know, the regular people never went to Eden) or it’s probably the result of the (likely) explosion that happened at the fall.

about vault, i’ve been thinking about how the level doesn’t seem to make much sense, with the walls disappearing, giant manta ghosts, a big floating grassy hill at the top, and, of course, the presence of the elder statues at the top (even though we see them in eden).
i’m thinking that, since the vault seems to be a library that stores knowledge in crystals, when we go through vault we must be experiencing the knowledge held in the crystal that powers the elevator. it’s like that crystal contains the memories of vault itself (and that’s why each stage of the level is triggered by lighting up the crystal and meditating under it).

To me, I think the vault represents transcendence, as the more you climb, the more you discover the past, present, and possible future. Because as the elevator rises, so does the player and the child of light.

I think the blue diamonds on the temple door represent power crystals and the yellow diamond represent butterflies, and the things that carry them are boats with sky people on them

I haven't covered the vault cubes (which were added during the last season) yet, but basically: The top and bottom planes of the cubes are blank, and the rest of 4 sides are covered with 4 symbols, all placed in exactly the same order. Sometimes the cube is upside down.

The bell/wall glyphs don’t seem to have direct overlap with the concept caption alphabet. But based on looking at the pinned images and considering the stream’s discussions, I have a vague sense that the glyphs are pictograms representing the cycle of 7 levels. Not sure of the direction (tho RtL makes sense wrt rotation), but either way the one that looks like M would be Valley/maturity/twins?

You know what I wonder about?
On the eye of Eden portal, it has the symbols of all the spirits except one. I think the missing one might be the isle of Dawn spirit. But I’m not sure. But I have a theory
Since life in Sky is a cycle that goes from death right back to rebirth, maybe the isle of Dawn is linked directly to Orbit?
And I guess we think of the kingdoms as a linear-ish journey, but at the same time the game itself is a cycle of life

But I just had the idea that maybe the isle of Dawn has a special link to Orbit, and by extension Eden

The design explanation for that is because the same model of the Eden portal we have now was taken from the aviary. Back then, you awakened in isle and after finishing the level you would go to the aviary and hear the prophecy about getting each elder blessing to face the storm. Each level had a portal for you to visit and after you finished it, their mask would light up on the Eden gate and it would be available once all of them were lit
And even in that case, I think that might be true! Since you would awake directly on isle after being reborn back then

Oh no there was a home, but the dynamic was different. Home would be a private space for friends and constellation, the aviary would be a social hub and access to levels
Game wise it would be Isle > Aviary > All levels, but the same order as now to complete them
You could go back to isle from there, but it was a hole in a cave rather than a proper portal

I waited in the rain to lose my light and see whether the light on my chest went dark. After losing my flame and becoming unlit, the gem on my chest did not go dark. Still a fan of the theory that this is where we house our light and/or the thought that sky children are more or less mechanical.

Basically walking near it would activate a collection quest, and finishing it would send the animal up to the sky (I.e there was a turtle in the ice rink who flew around and gave you a candle for completing)

Oil mutated the giant eels into krill? The eel in forest cave is peaceful, but in the Eden exit flashback of civilization falling, the eel attacks the giant manta just like the first Wasteland krill attacks the little swamp manta

The transcription I wrote on the margin is not official, but I think it's about right. Also ginsy has written these letters out (search "write the alphabet out" and scroll down a bit)
It's plain English in enigmatic font/alphabet so probably not related lore, but they are cool and interesting. And of course the things written can be related to lore.

that makes me think. we don’t encounter kid spirits (kids in the memories of other spirits sure) would be pretty sad but interesting if the adults were wiped out but saved their kids by sending them to isle of dawn/home, the furthest place from eden. and the skykids just woke up after ages with no memories of their parents or past life

I think that version of the alphabet is much older than the ones from the Gnomon stream, as that image includes older character designs that aren't up to date, while the Gnomon stream ones include models that are exactly the same as they appear in-game today

There's one child spirit, the Belonging spirit from Isle of Dawn.
The Belonging spirits were the ages that correspond to their locations: Isle child, Prairie older child, Forest teenager, Valley young adult, Wasteland middle aged, and Vault elder.

@sacred quest I saw your post in #beta-feedback I would say regarding the 'issue' that the player does not have a shadow for the cape in game (neither in live or beta) could be: The cape they fly with is made out of light (The winged light/stars we collect throughout the worlds) so maybe it got no shadow bc it's literally made out of light?

As far as I know no shadows are a hardware limitation due to the game being released on the mobile platform.
They literally cannot afford to have dynamic lighting that allows for dynamic shadows. All light is baked in afaik

The official answer given at one of the Japan Fan Q&As is that it's a hardware limitation, and the processing would really slow things down. But there's no reason we can't make a lore-based explanation for fun ^^

@green pine oh yes, images in the stream should be newer. Speaking of timeline "People of Sky" image also seems rather new in development because the elders look similar to the current ones. Maybe someone who created or used these fonts joined the team later? that someone can also be a 3D artist, just a guess

Aha thanks— actually if you compare the relative heights of P/B to L, both sets match so I think they are another doublet; it’s just that ”people” is in a shorter font than “labor”

When you say no shadow @Starflame#2626 & @ThePlayerAmi (Amalia)#6528 are you only referring to the cape? I certainly see a shadow of my Sky kid but not the cape. Lighting has to be somewhat dynamic. That’s why we have holes in areas like wasteland from above. Or at least that’s what I’ve come to believe

@rough steeple wouldn’t have minded a tag it would have been easier to answer back right away 😆 but I see I forgot to write cape in the first part of my message up there 👆 so I corrected myself. But what I meant was not the kid not having the shadow, it’s that there is no shadow for the cape if u look on the ground. The cape does not have a shadow - Unless you refer to the shadows on the cape specifically? I’m referring to the players shadow on the ground
