*Collects dark creatures.
Circling around one specific, grand pooling of Void; the mountain.
The concept doesn’t depict them anywhere else after all.
🕯️
That polarity you discussed is extremely relevant to my research on the Cycle

So the pooling of the void is where the dark creatures spawn? :O though we do see crabs in other areas, probably a neutral form of the void creatures
I’d love to see what you’ve found!
@ancient canopy
“At last, deliver your Light through Eye of Eden to fulfill your destiny and restore the Kingdom of Sky.”
It makes sense, bc some theories say that color black is just the absence of light.
And, of course, you need a balance and the presence of both light and darkness.
So every skykid was created as a response to heal the broken world in the Megabird's oversight
I wonder if megabird was inspired by the Orphan's radical act of sharing and empathy in the face of disaster and decided to create the skykids in the image of them?
Yes!!!!! And the fact it’s semi-hidden like this means that there just hasn’t been enough discussion about this additional information.
You know how in the video they mentioned light returns to orbit, it falls back down into the world of sky as stars and pollen? well we see the ember collect that light pollen to forge candles and to also light a candle. So are they taking from the cycle? Presumably in a much less detrimental way than you know, absorbing light directly from the environment and from creatures, but it still would be a process of taking right?
Or it may be much prior. Because the tablets showed the orphan how to make candles again, that helped bring light again to those who needed it.
We have extra information that confirms our goal and why we make the trek to Eden specifically.
As seen in this booklet that i got for the movie exclusive to Japanese theatres, you can briefly see the concepts of the Orphan. They used to have a moth - like hairstyle, albeit messier
the little Manatee nose boop fgjdkksksk l
In the Creator Commentary section in the Projector IAP (it's completely different from the video, but still showcase the same storyline), the candle making process was least efficient, which means at that time of candle making, light was still left over abundantly, plus light gets stronger when shared, which is what candles are able to do in game
I can't resist the manatee okay 😭😭😭
It's also interesting to me that we have our own candles that can enable us to exchange and share our light in a similar way that has been depicted in the murals and with the orphan in the animation! I just always wondered where those candles came from, what made them a permanent part of ourselves, and now are they potentially forged for us in the same way that the ancestors forged candles to spread light
Sooo, candle making was the least efficient in terms of “how much Light can we condense into this thing” but more efficient in terms of “there’s still Light left over to be shared/reused/carried through the Light Cycle”?
Indeed! And the way Dusk discover that, made me remember how we all, as moths, found also we had light within ourselves, that can help not only us, but to bring light to others as well.
Oooh this makes sense! I really need to go get the projector and watch the commentary
Yeah precisely!
I think darkstone technology harvested light in the rate that the natural regeneration of light couldn't catch up is what causing the darkness, plus its mentioned that they kept harvesting them in the desperate attempt to keep the darkness at bay, it's like adding salt into the ocean
I think possibly it's less efficient in that it runs out as the candle shrinks too? Without watching the commentary for full context, I can't say for sure, but we did see many instances in the animation of the candles that the orphan forged having shrunk with use
It's so worth it!
Could they, theoretically, have made a super mega giant candle if they harvested enough light and had a big enough mold to forge it into?
It was also very interesting noticing how the light particles or motes fell like rain when the sun appeared in the Sky, as shown in the animated series.
Also look at the orphan storyboard shdhd so cute
Omg giant candle cakes
Also, if I’m right that this Light pollen is the same thing as what we refer to as “wax”, and wax can be found from burning Dark Plants….

My Dark Plant phytoremediation theory is further being validated!!!!
WHY DO WE NOT GET COOL THEATRICAL RELEASES WHERE I LIVE
sobs same :(((((( I want to see it in the big screen and with the all around speakers here 💔
My friend went to Japan and asked me if I want some of the merch and I immediately said yes LOL I am grateful for them
I'd love to be able to watch it in big screen, and spend hours discussing details with y'all.
do you WAIT DO YOU THINK THATS WHY WE APPEAR AS FIREFLIES/EMBERS IN EMBERZONES? (like I know it's tech to help with processing overload and visual clutter, but also hear me out) WE ARE LIGHT POLLEN JUST DRIFTING IN THE BREEZE
frfrfrfr I hope in the meantime before 2027 where part 2 supposedly releases, tgc runs them in more countries
WE ARE THE CAUSE OF THE POLLEN ALLERGY IN SKY /JK
omg now you've got me thinking, imagine having pollen allergies back then and a new light cycle begins, what an awful day you're going to have
Krills are allergic to the pollen canon
you sneeze and butterflies come out of your nose
noses are mini orbits confirmed
There might be a couple of differencies (have not made my mind about this yet) because Dusk is able to pick up the motes or embers on the beach to forge the candle.
But then you have the embers running at speed in the pipes and those have more "fire" properties, as Dusk uses them (as shown in the mural) to light the candle.
bubba why 😭😭😭😭😭
stationary motes vs high speed motes. Of course there’s going to be a difference.
It's like static particles and highly energised particles.
Like when electrons are excited, it releases energy in the form of light
yeah the ones in the pipes definitely seemed like they were fiery and on a mission, but I also wonder if that's from the fact that they appear to be being industrially harvested as opposed to when they're just naturally drifting back down to the land
Or just, you know, friction caused by acceleration and air resistance.
Yes, something like that. But I also wondered if such movement was the only cause...and how it happened.
Resh used a vacuum cleaner /jk
Maybe something in the pipes gives them the speed movement.
No it's the vacuum clea-
Do you think “to restore” means it simply, as in we position ourselves as the main character when we go to Eden, and we save the world and erase Darkness in that moment?
I could propose that it doesn’t mean that, but then that would be so complicated! So from then, how do we each all go about reading this?
🕯️
Well in the season area, the pipes all lead up to eden, so it must be a vacuum of some sort sucking them up to the castle where eden elder has beeg diamond
like we joke about a vacuum cleaner, but it's probably very close to what the elders had set up but just on a large scale
I do think some of those pipes were for waste also though, like pollution in the areas, especially crabfields, makes me so anyways
It was pretty clear that some of the residents of the Last City and, basically Eden, were harvesting intensively all the motes and light sources they could find.
As well as that so intensive harvesting was causing a big impact in the environment and all living creatures.
Even the street lamps use the blue crystals
I interpret “to restore the Kingdom of Sky” as not specifically referring to something like the Spirits. They’re already dead, their time as an earthly civilization has passed. But instead referring to the Kingdom and the world itself. Stitching the broken, dimmed, stars of the constellations back together, so that they can remember how to shine as brightly as they once used to, and the world can properly begin to heal.
I have an unrelated question whilst I'm here, do we think two embers was before or after the civil war?
Likely after? But it's not very clear though
I wondered and I remember speaking to a friend about it and we weren't sure cause if it was after then idk who was there to participate in it, not the people hiding in the bottom of the temple from the krill for sure, but if it was before then wasteland shrine isn't present at all in the temple until after we return to the present, and given their involvement I would expect their shrine to be present sometime during or after the war
Maybe we'll see in part two!
I said present and after so many times there
Present! 🎁
The animated series names the area where most of the action happens as "The last city". And people seem to be going there seeking for refuge, food and water, and also healing (if possible).
This makes me think that there was some conflict going on, being that one a civil war or not...Idk yet.
That's true and a good point! If it had happened before or during the time the events of two embers were taking place then it would make sense as to the name of the city and the way civilians appeared to be there for refuge. The only other thing I could think is if some survived the events of two embers, considered all that had transpired and turned on the eden ruler/soldiers then it could have happened after what we've seen so far
Yeah, it is possible.
That means candles are most likely the most sustainable light collecting device in the Kingdom
nicee thanks a lot!
Got the vault cape today and noticed a cool little detail when you use up all your flaps, if you go to an ancestor to recharge your light their body will glow a warm orange/yellow colour
Also your manatee gives you instant recharge when you two are next to each other.
This whole time, the destruction of Sky was a direct result of one person gaslighting, gatekeeping, and guybossing the Light then refusing to share it with the world.
It wasnt intentional as said in the creator commentary of Two Embers (plays after the bonus Alef scene).
The way they described Resh motives there really makes him morally gray character who happened to be victim of his own deeds.
I recommend watching the commentary whole as his motives tie to what they tell about Light and motes and everything.
The new video that came out is not the same as the creator commentary.
I always miss the details of Sky. I didn't know that we can see literally the shattering stone explode??? I was playing at the prairie entrance. Then the sudden earthquake stuff. I thought those background high tower was just a background??
Yes the shaking happens when you are in same realm as shards are that day, sometimes it happens in other realms too (I once caught shaking ground on Isle). You can also see the shards flying out from Eden and falling where they should fall.
I wanted to use all my projector spells in order to see the commentary sections. But i'll refrain for now because my laptop is just average as it is, and don't get started on my internet connections which is pretty bad. That would resulting in constant lagging, the stuttering on the voices, and skipping the important scene simultaneously

Im planning to buy the projector eventually if you wanna go and watch later
what civil war ???
TGC should honestly release the animation to the internet.
The in-game viewing has been a nifty gimmick (albeit has issues in my experience and opinion). But a lot more people would enjoy it outside of the game.
- Because there are a lot more people who don't play the game
- This can get them engaged and start playing the game.
- Quit antagonising people from sharing their work on the internet (referencing the 30 second limit rule which is ridiculous)
- They could have gotten a little kickback in monetisation (if any) by posting their work from the start. Even after the initial hype has already came and went.
They never had issues with the Aurora concert being shared online. This animation may be their own work. And yet dont want to share it outside of the game in full.
See the battlefield outside of the Wasteland temple.
The term "civil war" is a nickname referencing the war in that era of sky's history. And even the setting and time that the latest season takes place in
I thought the battlefield was due to the shattering and the take-over of the place by the krills, I had understood it was a genuine civil war before that
thank you for clarifying !
oh hi sorry I should have clarified! as raider mentioned, it's what we presume happened in wasteland! I was just trying to figure out where in the timeline the events of two embers had occurred in reference to the war, or if it was an overlap. I'm definitely open to suggestions if anybody has any!
it's a bit confusing where the civil war takes place atm, some assume it is before the two embers part 1 while others assume it was after. From the terrain and krills we see in the area of seed of hope's memory, it looks like it was taken place after the last city GW area was destroyed but that's just my own observation
actually, now that you mention it, shattering fitting into the timeline is a bit confusing for me also! presumably that was after two embers because we saw the diamond (and eden) intact and not all red and volatile! how much later after two embers, I'm not 100% certain, but how did the orphan end up in aviary after the events of the animation?
or is aviary at the start of the timeline? but then would that not imply shattering was before two embers maybe because we saw a shard land in duets concert hall
although it isn't shown in part 1 and ends off with Dusk Ember with the ancestors in GW temple, what we do know is that Dusk and Dawn will meet at some point because one of the trailer scenes showing both of them together in the void. So part 2 might tackle the shattering events
I'm so excited to see what happened and how they met together like that, the vague timeline leaves me beyond curious to just figure it all out, but I think without part two just yet it might not make much sense if I cram things together now
if we don't see shattering events in part two, then I'd hope at least we could see more of what happened between the two sides in the war, just to see how those sides came about and maybe even if the krill that are present during the seed quest are hostile because they're being attacked or hostile because they're corrupt
Imo the seed, just like other memories (well maybe except runaway) is just memory projection placed on current state of the land, kinda like when you place down the manta/waves projector.
In Warrior, you can see the buildings already being broken just like in present day.
I can get behind the terrain difference because of that, but the krills in the memory is what generally makes me believe it might've been after since we learned that krills weren't able to get into that area until the towers went out
And even Runaway is not the same as how it looked back then, for example the forest is missing and the grass is covering just a little bit of the land.
But we do see the towers going out multiple times in the movie and people also seemingly knew what to do which means this is not first time they had to evacuate in the temple.
Things maybe calmed down after a while and the people came back outside, saw the state of their homes (this attack was propably worse than before) and decided to start revolution.
The diamond is still blue and in one piece as we can see in the movie so I dont think this was the shattering already and imo we might see the shatetring in last episode of Part 2.
the hype everyone felt in part 1 of like seeing dusk confront the ruler only for it not to happen, the anticipation for that hope to happen in part 2 will be real when it comes hahaha
but yeah, without part 2 it is a little harder to connect dots 100% atm but will make it easier when it comes while of course leaving holes for people to fill in!
Krills weren't on anyone's side, seen through seed of hope's memory and the soldiers in the two embers so would be fun to see a civil war along with darkness in the middle of it making it worse
even if it doesn't show the shattering event, the debate on how Dusk got to aviary will be heavy hahaha
The diamond is peeking from the ground on bottom center of the image.
that could be a reasonable thing that has happened, I do hope part 2 would bring a definite when the war took place
but yes I do believe as well we'll see shattering right at the end of part 2, I can see episode 5 and 6 intertwining with part 1's timeline
Imo each Part 2 episode will be focusing on different stage of Alef/Resh life. plz give us the awkward teen look of Alef like Simba had in Lion King, that would e funny
I always felt like the krill were there protecting their babies cause we saw smol ones. I could be totally wrong of course, but during the aurora season it made me think awww no wonder the krill are angry
this but Resh TGC please
The pointy things on his mask growing out and him struggling with sleeping and doors and other stuff because of that.
imagine episode 2 will be Dawn Ember singing "I can't wait to be king", while you got Isle elder singing's Zazu's lines
Valley twins playing Timon and Pumbaa
"On the mountain, the mighty mountain, the baldy manta honks toniiiiight."
Does someone understand the light cycle in the new video posted?
The one of the two embers with the storytellers
There was a great conversation about that starting here!
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
But I’ll try to write something about it now or soon as well
🕯️
Ohh ty!
I’m honestly burnt out from just explaining things, so if you’d like to talk about what you read in that conversation, I’ll ask you what you picked up and talk to you about the Cycle more from there
It's alright, I think I understand the cycle just reading the conversation
Felt honestly.
It absolutely has to be way before, and it has to be for along time. Look at Bereft Veteran, with their child going to the exact same war
From what I recall in older conversation in this channel.
Folks have discussed this as far back as season of Sanctuary, season of Enchantment and even in the older beta days when the game was called Light Awaits.
The light cycle in a nutshell is the way Light works in Sky. It is this energy that travels through the realms.
Some might call it magic, others an element of the world, most learn it as a source of light and life force.
Based on concept art, the light falls into the realms, the light creatures are born or consume this energy and they become stronger (or larger as they fly higher). The creatures migrate to the peak of Eden mountain and ascend. The mega bird (also called the bird of light) is this massive entity made of light. It travels around the orbit of the world to collect this light and the cycle carries on as it returns to the realms.
This cycle was disrupted by the ancestors (or more like the elders) and with the light unable to reach Orbit. the balance between light and darkness was shattered. The darkness became corrupted and the spirits of the ancestors along with these motes of light were trapped in the realms.
Some light creatures are able to reach the Orbit, but it is not enough to restart this cycle.
Skykids are able to help jumpstart this cycle, but even they are not enough seeing as we have yet found a way to do so.
Or more like to put things plainly, TGC has yet to give us an ending to this never ending grind cycle.
This is a motif that is echoed in the game and the seasons. But not that often seeing that new players notice this and ask these same questions over and over again.
Veterans have told this story so many times. Answered this question in their own ways. Have done this song and dance to the point where they become tired of telling it themselves.
hope this helps.
heh...you would think that
Since it runs on cinema time I would ask when the projector replays all chapters, then I would say 40-45 minutes later is when you activate the spell. Maybe around 50 minutes instead to give time for the art to play if it's similar to that screening from the creator awards

Yee the creator commentary is quite long, theres concept art after it as well but not sure how long because the person sharing projector had to go before it ended but there was a lot too.
The ending words of creator commentary about Light before they started saying goodbye and thank you were beautiful tho.
Oh the concept art part did go on for long, maybe around 3-4 minutes
Indeed there were so many concept arts (those are technically colour keys for the scenes)
These are truly an eye feast
I managd to sc some of it, my favorite one is this very rotund potato
Jfkgjfk it looks so potato
I flew there in two embers area.
A teaser on part 2 👀?
Could stretch and salute the soilders
Not a teaser, just fun OOB easter egg.
Part 2 will be set even further in the past.
They said in creator commentary that Dusk is firt one to make candle in centuries so Resh/Dawn ember must be like super old because the recent Sky exhibition hinted that he also knows how to make candles.
So part 2 could very well be even 1000 years in the past.
Dammm
As said in the CN interview, those two are the same person.
Centuries, Dawn Ember been through some crazy stuff
He's not bald, he's ashy
It makes the "okay boomer" jokes from few months ago even funnier ngl
the making of 2E part 1
https://x.com/thatskygameJP/status/1965217051129381037
Centuries, hmm? Might as well call them "peepaw resh" at this point
Wait, if resh is centuries yearsold and still doesn't have long beard at least, what about daleth then? Daleth must be truly ancient beings then
Its a fashion statement.
Daleth is sporting the beard confidently
got the Aslan quote in my head but with Dawn Ember/The Ruler going "Do not cite the deep magic to me witch, I was there when it was written"
Maybe Resh shaves but he is so bad at it that his face is all scarred so he hides it under the mask
The Two Embers.
One cant shave.
The other hates haibrushes.
just picture Rhythm guide cheerily following Stewie with hairbrush and scissors in hand and Stewie walking faster and faster, refusing to make eye contact
list of stuff I got at the top of my head for these two and the abilities they wield
feel free to correct points or add stuff on hahaha
its a 10 hour spell actually
Which spell
Lamed:
- pspsps
- "I have had this moff just for 10 minutes but if anything happens to them I will end everyone in this room and then feed myself to krill." (applies both on us and Stew)
- neck is secretly a forklift
Resh:
- "What makes you think I like teal color and star shapes?"
- forced to sleep on his back since adolescence
- "Hey
SiriMegabird, what should I do if my shiny stone turns red?"
Lamed does pspsps at us in Vault cutscene.
thought I got the time wrong, gonna go correct that
corrected it, I don't wanna post the same image so I'll post correct version at some point in future
forced to sleep on their back? 😭
Cant sleep on sides because of pointy mask.
OHH, that makes sense
something I think about often is that most people of sky must have not great peripheral vision due to their masks, while the ones with animal masks got better peripheral vision but have a blind spot right in the middle

"Where is xxx?" meme but with performance guide beak
"Where is frantic?"
frantic crying on the ground right in front of the guide
I love the idea of Performance Guide having to side-eye everyone 90% of the time to see them properly, while also can accidently smack or poke you in the face with their mask if not careful around them hawbawhhaha
AHAHAH, I'm gonna draw that now 😭
Rhythm guide must hate that penguin mask simply just for the face smacking purposes. You could hear "Brother please stop hitting me." in the household often
"What did you just said?" head turn, another smack
HAHawgahah, poor Rhythm Guide got their eye almost poked out multiple times by them
Every time performance turns their head to look at them, Rhythm Guide literally has to dart their head back to avoid being hit
OMG HAHAHAHAHA 😭
Cellist's POV shot is wild, Duets 100% boops Cellist with the tip of their mask
I made a art POV shot but with performance instead, perspectives in the sky world must be so wild
peepaw resh
Hey Megan cuz it has two Vowels
sky kingdom? sky empire?
Ah yes triangles ruled by a ruler
Kingdom of Sky
Tbf what Resh created could be considered empire.
Federal Government combined with Monarchy instead of Democracy.
The realms probably did stuff according to their elders
I'm really glad Resh is confirmed(?) to be old old man
Old people in media are fun
I am a DAAAALETH.
Hi daleth
Wha. Why?
The area increases with each season because the kingdom invades and increases territory.
The happy kingdom has evolved into an empire.
Are we like the whoever expands that idk the word
when is Days of Sardine coming again?
pioneers?
“Sky Empire”? Are there other empires/kingdoms in the world of Sky? That’d make an interesting season.🤔
Technically the 9CD kingdom but that one is collab area so not really canon.
It helps to know that that concept art is actually not new; it was made in Sky’s earlier development phase when there still wasn’t a solid story yet. Perhaps not even a king!
🕯️
Perhaps a cannon kingdom (or what’s left of it) comes to the Sky kingdom in search of a new home. Just a little idea floating around in the egg nog.🥴
I wonder why the solders have krilly hair and capes tho
There are more npcs without proper textures in Last City OOB. There is even enchantment guide in spirit form. Its because they are suppsoed to be just background characters you catch glimpse of when exiting the marketplace. Seems like TGC gave them interactions just for funsies, it would be first time of OOB easter eggs like this, another nice example is the plane chat bench in wind paths.
Something the cinema failed to show properly - sentries having purple scarfs and different colored outfits.
Explains why is the sentry outfit almost fully dyeable.
Out of all people to have ability to be fancy and fashionable
Can we talk about how Lamed’s redesign/human form looks so good 😭🙏 But it makes me wonder if we will get to see the other Elders like this too in the future… We’ll definitely see Daleth in Part 2 but I’m not 100% sure about the others just yet. Anywho, on Lamed’s design there’s a lot of this purplish-pink, a color you wouldn’t really associate with Vault. If the other Elders were to follow this trend, what do you think the colors they would wear would be?
Forest would be bluish green for me
Vault is still associated with purple in a way tho, see Starlight Desert and also purple light daily quest being located there
Forest Elder would be Dark Teal or Dark Green for me. Cause y'know, darkstone and the forest.
Priarie is CERTAINLY gonna have yellow. It's a given. I dunno about green but theres GOTTA BE YELLOW. ITS SUNNY. SO SUNNY.
Wasteland Elder's is probably dark green, grey, black, etc.
I dunno abt Isle Elder.
Isle would be pink
No explanation needed
I have not opened this channel for a few days but I saw this on tumblr and went “huh” but the “source” link is a tiktok so I wanna ask if anyone else saw this from the thing on rn with the creators
(Again haven’t been here for a few days idk if that’s the topic rn but, “we” exist in sky and make krill?)
I don’t have a TikTok so I can’t watch this but the one the post links is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Js7s70TKlo8 the video's also on their youtube
iirc that's a piece of concept art
Thank you for a usable source
I hate TikTok
i will be honking at the valley siblings until they give me their masks
Members here don't know when things will happen unless its been announced in #news. Best to Wait And Find Out (wafo) in the meantime. Hmm, kind of sounds like waffle when we say it together 🧇
Not really related but my Radiance guide is now in full pink, both mask and cape, and he looks like strawberry cow and I cant stop giggling when I see him
I talked about elder possible colors in relation to their meaning here a bit before if you wanna give it a read
Hear me out twins would match with those red and blue uh.. is it.. flags? Everywhere
Pepsi twins 😭
@crimson plover Hi! I'm just going to remove this message to avoid potential spoilers, since it seems to be referring to unreleased content due to a bug.
Or Coca cola vs Pepsi
The lighter part of their fits would be white and darker would be blue for one twin and red for other (as homage to the old valley race where you had either blue or red cape) but yeah Pepsi elders.
I imagine it and they kinda look like gummies in my head
The sound of the temple bell
The bell always rings on the island.
day and forest, the bell rings only bringing spirits.
In the valley, the elder quits to guide the spirits, so the bell doesn't ring
However, the castle in the orbit rings a bell.Who is ringing the bell at the castle? There is no elder
Oh that is curious
On Orbit you hear bells coming out of rebirth gate. If you have old home set you hear old home belltower. If you have aviary or nest set, you hear aviary belltower.
During ascension, the bell sound you hear is the whale hitting it and clearing the path from debris so other creatures, including you, can pass through.
The bells get louder the closer you are to rebirth gate.
📦: I love the rebirth gate
Oh it’s showing you the way home- I just realized that..
That’s actually really adorable
It would be really cute if the way star kids find their way back is because the ringing of the bells help them know where to land
Like light creatures
Yesss!! Exactly like that, it would make sense for why aviary has such a tall bell tower given how massive it is compared to the rest of the village
There is also the manta that follows you everywhere, circling between you and the rebirth gate, waiting for you to go to another adventure.
Ok stop this might make me cry from how wholesome it is-
Bells from what we seen seem to work under some “sound magic”. Everytime we rang the bells, something happened.
They clear the fog in aviary.
They summon winds and light creatures in wind paths.
They summon wind in Isle. Mantas and birds in prairie.
Even the sanctuary quest was all about bells and summoning the life back to the islands.
There are 6 paths leading to clouds behind aviary gates. 6 paths for 6 realms. Their position corresponds the portal position and exclude Eden (that was part of Vault technically).
One of the concept arts shows very simmilar bell tower with paths leading to different parts of the world and even simmilar platform to aviary one. It is possible that back then Aviary was as big as todays Valley is (after splitting from wasteland), as seen in that concept art. Of course we dont know if that is aviary at its prime, it is just speculation.
The bells could maybe serve as some protection from darkness before darkstones were a thing, on top of them being used as clock and possibly summoning device/migration aid for light creatures.
The bell is ringing from the castle.
What am I supposed to see there?
The bell that guides the spirit is ringing from the castle.
Like an elder, the king may be leading spirits and star children from the orbit Castle
Where is it ringing? I dont see any sound circle there.
King is dead, there is nothing left of him, not even a soul.
Of course this info can change after Part 2 comes out.
The sound repeats in the loop if you stay in ascension longer than you should, if you heard any bell it is propably just the sound going in a loop.
Source: Im someone who does those things often to find hidden gems (not only) in OOB.
I did not know that first fact, extremely interesting
What a potent way to express that the different lives and experiences of Descendants affect the way they hear the Call. I wish more things each of us did or have already experienced would somehow subtly affect the way we experience further things
🕯️
What a cool oob, very nice!
Don’t forget the chimes in the Wind Paths, keeping the clouds pushed back
It would be difficult to understand if you did not fly yourself, hear the sound of the bell from the castle.
Try to ,If you can
It could definitely be a possibility that the bell is ringing from there, but when locating any noise in Sky, it’s best to check if there’s anywhere else that it also plays. I believe Luca that it likely plays all through the ascension process, even into space. It’s also important to use the sound toggles they’ve given us, to make sure whether it’s technically part of the background music or it’s a world sound effect.
I agree with trying with any sound channels toggled off or on. The Flight theme plays very loudly in the earlier parts that when you're approaching the castle, it usually quietens down a bit that you're more likely to hear the bells
Excuse me, castle gates? (from the most recent notification)
Are you telling me that Wasteland Elder´s Temple ... is a castle? 👀
📦: hasn't it always been?
📦: like.. it's where the king is, and it's the last city (which means it must be important if it has withstood all that's going on, as well as the lengths the soldiers are going to so it doesn't get shrouded by darkness)
📦: and it also works as a protective structure for the vault of knowledge, which seem like the kind if place you'd want to keep secure within a castle's worth of defense
📦: and while I see the idea of the wasteland elder being the ruler of the area, I feel like it's more likely after two embers that they were some kind of honorable commander and that's why they were appointed to guide the soldier/refugee spirits in the area
📦: but that's jist a theory.. A SKY THEORY
.... 💥
I did mention the wind paths, Tom.
What makes you think I did not do that? Lorechat can prove Im doing orbit shenanigans everytime Im there.
Any loud bell sounds have the “honk” effect around them when it is coming from something near you. This does not happen in the Orbit Eden castle.
It however happens in lower parts during ascension when the whale breaks the falling tower.
What happened there is that the sound looped because the skid did not fly up but in circles.
You can loop the sound like this in first part of ascension by going between outside of castle and inside (where jellyfish are).
Eden castle gates.
Idk if this has been asked before but is the hopeful Stewart the child in season of two embers? I thought at first because they use the same sprite before the movies but after I watched the movies im not so sure
📦: technically not confirmed but pretty much yeah they even share the hairstyle (in-game)
We'd like to believe so, yes.
Also the in-game model for the Orphan in the last Season Quest is very similar to if not the Hopeful Steward model
Not officially confirmed but heavily implied to be. I recommend searching up in this channel for older discussions, it has been asked and discussed here before many times.
Secondmost popular question after Bald Resh
Yeah during the quests the child model we see doing them/playing as did look alot like the hopeful stewart which is why i assumed they might me linked. Of course the movies are more detailed but I noticed the hair was ever so slightly shorter and the outfit slightly different but still maybe close enough
i dont understand why tgc hasnt given a word that it is indeed stewie
what's the point of even making us discuss about this very simple thing
why not just explicitly say it

📦: because tgc hates an actual grounded lore
LOL! What is bald resh??? I havent play the game since the season with the acting guild in the valley idrm the name, I missed a lot :')
📦: in the embers trailer (and series) they seem to be bald despite (apparently) previous iterations having long-ish hair
tgc could've just included in their promotional materials. like say, "learn hopeful steward's story..." or the like. there's really no reason to be vague about it
Its the same model actually. Just shoeless.
Ahhh in the high quality image here i can see little details in the outfit that are the same as the film i couldn't see ingame when I looked. Does anyone know if they have a special relationship with the guide spirit for the arc in the golden wasteland?
I noticed when I did their quest line at aviary village they hugged the ark guide spirit but not all of the guide spirits
Just lorechat jokes. Nothing related to lore.
When theres nothing to discuss about, we dive into this headcanon micro universe where Resh (the Eden king/dawn ember) is bald and autistic, Lamed (vault elder) is fed up with him and forces him to have autism to autism communication with Dusk Ember/Hopeful Steward (who is also autistic coded) after showing Dusk ember power point presentation of Reshs life.
Skybrah's fun fact of the day: 8 hours of sneep snorp a day keeps Dark Dragons away
Can you specify your question a bit more? Im not sure if I understand.
Sorry I dont remember the names to certain things anymore but, when I started playing again I had to do the aviary village quest with the hopeful Stewart of helping all the previous season guides in the village. I noticed that out of all of them she greeted the one for the Wasteland Ark with a hug and they seemed familiar almost, maybe they knew eachother when alive? We do see an Ark in the movies so its from the same time period I think. I think it might have been season of enchantment im talking about
Sky lore is intentionally made open to interpretation.
You also have to consider that Two Embers is not over yet, we are getting Part 2 at the start of 2027 and there is one very important scene that was not included in the movie yet.
Ah. I have been procrastinating on my article about Dusk Ember and Hopeful Steward connection for way too long
We dont really have any other supporting evidence outside the Revival quests.
The ship in the movie is not Lost Ark but the ship in Crab fields, this was directly confirmed by TGC in the dev notes that play after watching the movie through Star projector.
I have theory-like explanation of how they could know each other but it needs a lot of context. I will post it on my blog once it is finished, Im just busy with preparing for artist alley on con that is next week.
Oh yeah looking side by side those boats are way more similar, and makes a lot of sense since its right around the city not as far away as the ark. I would definitely love to learn later on if they ever reveal more about how they might know eachother, I definitely think they must somehow after seeing how they interacted during that quest.
Ngl, I never thought that the Wasteland Temple itself is a castle. I was certain Eden itself was one while the Temple would be like a big barracks/battlements-type of building within the Last City. To have it be called "castle" absolutely shifts the view about its importance alright. 👀
In that case, we could definitely say that Wasteland Elder is ... the topmost General.
That makes sense, but since it just says "castle gates", it gives out the impression that the Temple itself is a castle too. 👀
Even if from this angle, it does resemble a castle alright. A bit cathedral-ish as well.
We’ve said this about a great deal of many topics though, such as whether the king existed (before Two Embers, of course) whether there was a war, and about what the dark dragons were. Many things that might seem obvious to quite a few people may not be apparent to a lot of other people, leaving things like the king, the conflicts, and the dark creatures, as only “theories” for the longest times.
A lot of times, it’s not TGC creating the shrouded ambiguity but rather the community’s diverse opinions
🕯️
absolute eldering
Think of it. In the Two Embers movie setting for those who are still new to Sky, would the title "Hopeful Steward" fits the movie setting?
The child in the movie had gone through so so much in there so it definitely doesn't fit. The title The Orphan explains them very well in reference to the movie. They had lost their family, even their parent that was explictedly shown in chapter 1. And then (chapter 3 spoilers ||finally losing their manatee||
We do see a hint of hope at the end of chapter 4 but again, that's literally only going towards the death of everyone so it's more like them sharing their warmth with the refugees for one last time
It could very well be one of the many titles for the child
Erasing what the Orphan means for the child doesn't do the story justice. Hopeful Steward fits better with Aviary / Revival season, but does not so for 2E season. TGC had thought out about the themes very well, in contrary to refusing telling anyone. These hints still very well connect them as Steward as one of their titles.
Hello fellow lore enthusiasts
I had miscounted the tombs in vault and thought there were 5, now realising there are 4 it really does mean the orphan may have survived somehow and gone on to aviary, which could mean the other day when I was considering the timeline, maybe shattering came after two embers events after all
but then also how does one end up from what is presumed to be the end of the kingdom (vault/leading to eden) and return back to the beginning (aviary)?
I knew that place looked familiar
It looked like that before the waters were polluted, along with crabs, and a Krill patrolling, right?
one can think that the title of the "Hopeful Steward" is something given to them by the skids
alternatively it could be something they have earned the title at a different time
in essence, the Orphan and the Hopeful Steward could be two different persons just as the you you are today is different from the you you were yesterday
or they could just be two different folks, i dunno
Megan accidentally ordered the same item twice
2027?!
dies of old age
Expect TTE Part 4 in 2030!
There are times that you arrive with such a casual brilliance that I am wholly unprepared for
Oh they have the... uhh... palm guards?? On the gloves
he became a hopeful steward once he had a lit candle and approached everyone at the end of chapter 4
if we still subscribe to The Orphan/Dusk Ember -> Hopeful Steward, it simply means that we no longer play as the Orphan but Stewie during that little fourth quest
I have no concrete evidence nor do Ik how to explain what I'm going to say thoroughly, I'm just asking this as a question bc I considered it after redoing the seasonal quests so far. But does anyone think this cutscene in particular of TTE manatees is connected to the two embers in any way? We dont know anything fr excluding the short teaser for part two but I've just been wondering if anyone else thought this was a subtle form of foreshadowing 😭 bc I always thought this cutscene, I don't mean to be mean or whatever, was kinda.. maybe not the word 'unnecessary' but yk. I asked myself what was it there for bc we didn't do anything except see what specifically happened to the sick one via TTE episode and we rescued the other one (just for it to ultimately die also but yk still 😭).
So idk
Tldr I was just wondering if anyone thought this cutscene in particular was a form of foreshadowing that's all
Subtle foreshadowing of what? Are you talking about Two Embers as movie or Two Embers as Dawn Ember and Dusk Ember? Because if second, I dont think it is foreshadowing of anything, Dawn Ember is centuries older than Dusk Ember and somehow still alive cough cough.
We have snippets about this:
-
Jenova confirming in CN interview that one of the Embers becomes King. And since it is not Dusk Ember, it is obviously Dawn Ember, the Eden King. This is supported by the old cocnept art.
-
Recent Sky exhibition in China had Q&A wall where someone asked if Dusk Ember is the only one who can make candles. It was answered "Who says Dawn Ember cant make them too?".
-
Dev notes playing after Two Embers Part 1 say that Dusk Ember is the first one in centuries to make a candle, this making the King much older than we thought. If Part 1 is canonically set 500 years in the past, Part 2 of Two Embers could even be set 1000 years ago.
I think the foreshadowing is more of the second manatee being one we can interact
actually whoops misunderstood lol
I think OP meant it like... The Embers being friends and then set apart?? Which makes no sense chronologically.
oddly enough, the baby manatees playing remind me of the kids we have seen in the trailers.
And the one with darkness on them can somewhat resemble the scene of the child of darkness meeting the child of light.
I think it would be a fun bit of teasing or foreshadowing of the upcoming events. Where the Dusk ember presumably meets the Dawn ember in the Eden void. That is if it is like how we see the children of darkness and light uniting and becoming the skykid in the Eden void scene.
What would also be interesting is the rumours of that area referenced as the "King hug" scene.
I have no idea what Luca means how it does not make chronologically sense.
Unless I misunderstand what they mean.
What I gathered here is the baby manta scene was when Dusk ember was in wasteland, and before they set off to confront the King in Eden by going through Vault.
I could be wrong. Though it is perfectly fine to explore theories like these.
Which ones?
I remember someone made a theory about creatures of lights getting crushed and turned into energy fuel for the crystal or dark crystal
Glad they were right but I'm also, glad that they didn't grind the creature of light into dust 😭 instead just absorb their life force.. is still bad but I'm surprised their theory is almost right
The kingdom runs on 2 AA batteries. Gotta charge them somehow.
~~Hi Luca
And Player ~~
Fun Fact, they experimented on light creatures in Treasure Reef.
One headcanon because I cant shake off how cute it is:
Skids hands being super tiny for most spirits (my skid is size 13 so it wont work for medium sized spirits if you are taller), so when they have to hold some spirit/ancestor/elder hand, then just hold on one finger of theirs and the spirits/ancestors/elders going like second picture when that happens.

I am aware of that
Ngl, I wish they would show us what the big spiral thingy was, I hope it's a big manta with many flaps
Elder Manta perhaps?
Idk, it doesn't look like it- tho, I never saw an elder manta mural before, beside in the the treasure reef, the one you just mention-, so maybe
I can see that
The eel is my favorite sky creature and the eel is corrupted not far off, and being mixed is an interesting theory too OwO
They might try to make an artificial creature of light, as alternative since the riot and war happen between warriors of light and the seed- I love it
Tho, ig they mess with something they shouldn't have and create a monster
Alef does die idk they have at least one part to explain it soo
Eden is basically hell and resh is like the ruler of it, he might be haunting eden
Resh is yawning
Highly important question, do y'all call hopeful steward stewie or hope ot stuart little ‼️
Stewie
His government name is actually hope guys I was the birth certificate
Resh's name was Alef.
Resh is someone else.
And we have confirmation from Jenova that Resh is Dawn Ember.
Can you please not cold ping? Thats a week old message.
Ngl the seasonal thing would make more sense cus I see those statues in pnr as skids who didn't have enough light/pureness to be reborn, kinda like actual hell concept where if you are a sinner who has blasphemed you're condemned to hell/eden
And also how are skykids made by megabird and what was the megabird again 😭
Thats a cold ping. Reply without pinging pls. You can turn off pings.
Oh I'm so sorry, I didnt mean to do that, I was reading from where I left off 😭!!
Im busy, please stop pinging me.
Ayishhh I meant hope, accidentally wrote resh instead 😭
even a skykid with no wl can be reborn in eden so what would light/pureness be based on?
Mega bird is a big bird-like entity we see in orbit. The theory is based on the idea that mega bird is the source of Light in sky, or a faciliator of the light cycle, and it's through her that light creatures can be born. Kind of like the abrahamic god in one sense
YHWH mentioned
ok bye
YHWH?
hebrew for God
Hopeful steward or season of revival guide are the official names.
Stewie is a nickname folks can use. It is short for steward.
Fan nicknames can be used as long as folks know what they are and what they mean.
It is similar to the Dark Dragons being called Krill. Just in a less official fashion.
There are hints like the dawn ember becoming a ruler.
Which is very close to a confirmation but we might not for sure until it is officially released like in the game or the animation.
#wafo
Hmm then I feel like those sky kids were tainted by darkness? Bc there were signs of darkness before eden's explosion right, so I assume those skids had their lights tainted by darkness, and mixing in with your theory, the first and second generation of skids must have had weak enough lights/soul that it can be tainted by darkness
And omg I never knew that was an entity 😭 all this time playing sky I thought it was like a universe thing, not a mega bird entity that's the source of light for sky kingdoms 🥲
Stewie, stewerd, stuart and hope (hopeful steward) are acceptable names
The ult cape just opens the way to the communal bathroom???
Idk about you guys but I am not touching or stepping into that giant bathtub filled with old people
it's a pool of light, and a place for healing..........
I bet they never change the water there
There is whole cutscene about that. It happens every hour.
There's one generation of cotl dusk part of tte was confirmed to happen 500 years before any skykids were in sky
Skingdom yea
putting this here and forgetting about it
any thoughts or lore info on why The Resh Symbol™ is around Prairie Caves? or is it a different symbol?
Apologies if someone has said this before but thinking back on the last chapter of The Two Embers P1, what if the reason why the spirits sell items for candles/candles are a currency is because they’re trying to help keep the darkness away and we’re the only ones capable of collecting wax

Another no music Eden detail (hard to record it cuz it happens quite randomly) - You can hear (mostly on second map but sometimes on first two) metal screeching of the pipes when you are near them.
Pathmarker.
The larger shard, the larger reaction radius it has. Wattch how those three shards each react differently depending on how close I am.
Now imagine reaction area of that main one.
Why is there a flying race in valley if most ancestors couldn't fly?
If Light sounds like tiny bells, this must be how Darkness sounds. We can hear the exact same sounds randomly during quest 3 of this season too, coming from outside.
Why is the forest rain and wasteland/eden water harmful to skykids?
Magical rain and polluted water.
Magic?
Managed to capture it.
Blue light magical rain.
... How much do you know about prophecy murals...
None
Then I recommend searching that up in this channel before asking more. it has been discussed here many times.
Sorry for the late response but this is a great question! Let’s go over what people have noticed in the past that’s similar to your own observation, and what theories have come from those details!

Forest’s Rainfall
There are some crucial notes people begin to make about the harmful behavior of Forest’s rain. Firstly, it’s not polluted water that damages our character’s Light, but rather the rain itself. The water of ponds and lakes in Forest will not damage you if you are sheltering from the rain, even if that same harmful rain clearly showers into that pool!
Next, we must be quick to specify that the rain is harming your Light.
Light is the nickname for the magical substance that powers you and all of the light creatures. In this world, anything that takes away or harms your Light is the cause of Darkness; a mysterious other substance that tries to drain the Light out of living beings.
Community Observations
Players are quick to associate Forest’s harmful rain with the real world parallel of acidic rain; where harmful chemicals are introduced into the atmosphere and water cycle, creating rain that wears down buildings and can hurt animals and people. ⚠️
Acid rain tends to be the cause of human Pollution, so from there we look for the parallel to human pollution in Sky. The Ancestors clearly made a lot of pollution in the Golden Wasteland and Eye of Eden, and the Forest Temple is also a giant factory! So the immediate assumption I’ve seen is that the Forest Temple creates the pollution that causes the rain to have Darkness substance in it.![]()

Additionally, this explanation for the Pollution in the Forest should also help answer your question about the Pollution in the Wasteland, too!
I hope this helps
🕯️
Okie. Thanks

it wouldn't be far fetched for ancestors to race boats too cause those are like the cars of the sky kingdom
I like to think that’s what happened to that boat in wasteland.
If its referring to the shipwreck, I doubt that boat is used for racing. In the creator commentary that's shown after two Ember movie in the Projector iap, they explicitedly said the ship was used to transport the light motes in the golden containers
The damaged mask from the Wounded Warrior is taking an interest in me. How is it crystalized when the Warrior was wounded from his memories? I know he got hurt badly from a surprised attack from an enemy, but still curious 🤔
In response to the
I got it because in the last episode of The Two Embers 1 we see ||the orphan passing around a candle to everyone in the GW Temple + it seems like the candles have been used to heal creatures and people infected with darkness||
Idk it came up in my mind kinda randomly and I somehow connected it to the reason behind candle currency
Oh that's really neat
The whole valley thing is that they had mantas and they raced on them. Couple of spirit memories are about that. The big orbs in citadel are training devices, ancestors would step in and it would act as gyroscope.
Finally getting Orrery lore after all these years is insanely mind-blowing
Also, I still think they could have raced in boats as well. It seems to have been their main and most convenient mode of transportation 🕯️
Those boats dont look they can go fast though. The fastest ones are in Village of Dreams and thats not really race-like speed. They go about of average speed of car on a street.
Question what are the people in the two embers sick with?
If i may ask. What is that giant bird with a throne and a flag in vault is supposed to be? Its clipping out of the 1st elevator area
We nicknamed it darkstone disease/illness, some call it calcification too.
It’s the same stuff that happens to the player when ascending to Eden when you give away all your WL right?
Yeah, kinda. But it does not kill us unlike what it does to ancestors.
It happens to prolonged exposure to refined darkstones/darkness/lack of light.
its a big bird that appeared in the season of rhythm cutscene and appeared verrrryy rarely or if at all outside of it. I don't think anyone knows why the bird is actually making a reappearance at the moment
thanks, i thought that im the only one whos able to see it or its something related to the lore or something
Its the daily quest!
oh
It… is lore related. It is elder bird (we even have emoji and sticker named like that on this server). Appeared not only during Season of Rhythm final cutscene but also on Light Whisperer promo art.
The wingspan is adorable too
its lore related in the sense that it Exists In the World of Sky but is it actually related to any story going on rn 😭
Aaaahhh now I wish for a Rhythm season spinoff with a potential ride feature on the elder bird
It is also one of the few light creatures with actual eyes, the other one is the eel.
Any other light creatures masks (weasel, seahorse etc.) are debatable if the animals had eyes or not, as we didnt see the creatures yet, only ancestors wearing them.
I dont count 9CD into this as it is not light creature. But to my knowledge there were supposed to be deer in Hidden Forest very early in development
Or maybe it was very well done fanart but I think that was legit screenshot.
Isn't 9cd also in a way light creature? The wiki counts it as one tho
But its a collab entity so it shouldnt really be counted in
Fair enough xD
So I know the player is a Sky Kid, and it’s taken me 8 years into this game to realize omg there’s no defined term for the ancestors. Like what are they? Not Sky kids because well… that would be incorrect 😅
“Sky people” I kinda like “Terra People” since they’re grounded unable to fly thx to the lack of enough light during their time 🤷♀️
Calling them human would be— fine I guess.
Ancestors actually came from stars so calling them Sky people is not out of place.
Idk who was asking here a while ago about Flight Guide outfit taking inspiration from Prairie Elder but I found the message reffering to it.
Hello, can i ask since it's been a while I've gotten lore crumbs from sky
. What was blue birds lore supposed to be?
allegory for grief, and how different ppl have different ways to cope
the blue bird means renewal and hope (i think so)
its based on a books but i forgot the author since theres so many books named “bluebird” but thats the general idea
well the boats in the final season of flight cutscene seemed pretty fast, they can keep up with mantas definitely (enough to capture them anyways)
although its not really weird to race slower things like go karts
Yeah I figured it out eventually, lol, thanks. I forgot I’ve seen them literally ascend upwards when their quests are completed 😭 💀
There are strong winds in wind paths, mantas and boats go nyooom when the wind current catches them.
perhaps the captain really wanted that delivery done fast and ended up beaching the ship
When you order same day delivery at 23:59
(sunlight daily)
they know each other!?
In terms of documentation purposes, us calling them “Ancestors” as their official categorical name works plenty well, especially since it is what the developers have always called them as well, since early on in development. It’s kinda like us in real life naming a species that humans evolved from “ancestrale sapien” (bad example idea but-) in general there’s no need, meaning, nor possibility to name them anything else because they are what they are to us; our Ancestors. However, calling them “people” isn’t inaccurate in categorization nor apparentness either. It’s a very interesting question though, this was fun to think about!
🕯️
They're Sky Buddies
Sky Buddies ™️
Profound
Hello hello
(I don't know if I should ask here or in questions and help, but it's lore related so
)
What are the official names of the Elders?
And are their names from some origin at all or no?
there are no "official" names, the ones we use are from concept art and are as follows
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (They share a name, though the fandom refers to the spiky hair twin as Sah and the bobbed hair twin as Mekh.)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
Prince – Alef (א)
King – Resh (ר)
contact with skid's outer layer may be capable of disassembling organic substance back into motes
that's my best guess but maybe someone else has got a better idea
Okie thanks
They stare at it and the food gets automatically digested
Nope, you see them consume tea/confections/every food item besides the cafe pastry by putting it where they're mouth should be.
iirc skykids do not eat or drink, light serves as an energy source and potions are not drank. excluding the tea buns and marshmallows (and some i might be forgetting) food objects turn into collectible light
don't ask me why there's hot chocolate or lemonade in the game
my personal theory is that they lift off their masks partially to eat, but i dunno how cannon that is
They dont have mouths.
or do they? we never see their mouths, but if skykid anatomy is comparable to the ancestors, we hear clearly verbal noises coming from under characters' masks in The Two Embers, implying that they do have mouths. they could have just left mouths off the game models to reduce lag that occurs with more detailed models
What noone said seems to be the most understandable option tho. The food somehow turns into light which might explain how they eat buns in one go instead of biting it bit by bit
They have no mouths under the mask
did you read my full message?
They dont eat the gramma bums they just burn them
(i hope i'm not coming across as standoffish here btw, just trying to explain my idea)
the buns turn into light once burned, and the light is then absorbed by the skykid
I think they just absorb food the same way they absorb wax
in-game, yes.
Ris is talking about in theory.
Skykids have been seen eating.
Put like this, if they point but we only see a hand nubbins or a mitten being used to point. Does that mean they dont have fingers?
Or more so with the ancestors where some have fingers on their hands, and others don't.
The devs have stylistically made the game with minimalistic designs.
Partly to optimise the game, but also give players the space to imagine how they characters may express themselves.
Not sure if I should be happy to see this finally in the game after 5 years it has since been seen, or upset and disappointed that this is a bug and suggests the devs intentionally left this to rot in the code for this long.
They remastered older seasons like Gratitude, Belonging and it is a big if that they would do the same to Rhythm.
Would be interesting, but also mean another season with no new spirits to meet.
Lorewise, this was a big deal back in the day.
And yet this have never seen the light of day unless the game bugs somehow and we see beautiful accidents like these.
Here's a heartbreaker: He looks at the entrance because he's eager to see new players and moths because he then gets to tell himself
"Our little village just got a bit bigger. Thank you for surviving, I was eager to see you"
or
||"I was looking forward to you coming back"||
Is the scared soldier in season of ember last video is the the golden wasteland elder? Also can someone explain the total story of sky including the season of embers. How it all started?
Yup, he's staring at the entrance.
We're lead to believe that the scared soldier is Tsadi, the Wasteland Elder. From the dev releases, he wanted to be a carpenter but was likely conscripted into the army (that means recruited by force and mandate) against his will. He's scared at first, but he ultimately becomes the strongest soldier on the battlefield, where he can literally smash red shard crabs with his shield. He defends your character during the last moments of the quest and the fact that you flash-forward to the Wasteland Elder shrine implies they're the same person. The Elder and the soldier are both remembered and seen with a spear and shield.
there is a theory and rumour about that.
However it is not confirmed.
Frankly, it is unlikely since the spirit can appear in the present alongside the elder.
If they were supposed to be an elder, why not have references to the others? And if they were supposed to be the elder, why have their spirit and the elder in the same space.
It is a fun fan theory to entertain though a strange one considering the questions it raised about the logic and reason.
where in the dev releases??
If there is a link, can one please share?
Because the others were unaware or not present when the city fell.
Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Samekh and Mekh were likely in their own domains and perished following the kingdom. That's what I believe.
The isle of dawn and other realms are different realms ot they symbolize a single realm but in different times? Suppose daylight prairie then when this era ends comes the hidden forest era.
not even the vault elder?
thanks.
I sadly dont see the connection.
There is not even a hint or mention of them being connected to the elder like the guides from seasons of flight or nesting. Where one was an apprentice for the day elder and the other had an image hinting at them being with the forest elder respectively.
I think every realm was feeding into King Resh's madness in one way.
I for one feel like Ayin was sending light creatures to the city, Teth was making weapons and deforestating her domain against her will as she as VERY frustrated when we meet her. And she's a blacksmith. I think every one of the elders was contributing to the defiling of the realms against their will, and when we meet them, they sorta atone for what they did and pass the torch to the player, so to speak...
Lamed was obviously aware of the experiments in the Abyss, given the murals depict Vault Elders as part of the research staff. This implies some people who helped Resh were unwilling and remorseful for the most part.
What was happening in the abyss? And king resh does they cone before the elders in the sky realm and who was prince alef?
One thing that also speaks volumes about the lore is Season of Aurora as.... we sorta go into the realms and undo or correct the defilement in the areas.
Aurora and us, the audience, flying into the places returns life and vegetation to the Isle of Dawn, frees mantas and birds from the Valley of Triumph, sends butterflies into the Wasteland and then I canon she just got Eden to calm down and we all had one big happy party in the afterlife with her as the new leader of the Skypeople XD
They were doing experiments on creatures of the light and their expanding into the Abyss was immensely irritating King Krill. I think the Krill were always a thing (Darkness Dragons) but when the creatures of light and the Sky People encroached on their territories, they began to react wit hostility.
Yeahh that was wholesome
So mantas weren't turned into krills?
And then..... we have my literal favorite people in Sky.... the unsung, heroes of the Realms.... the MASK CLAN....
AKA the Passage Clan.....
This is a clan based on Japanese mountain folk (their masks are all Japanese animals) who can turn to ghosts, sneak off to places in the dark of night, clean pollution, help make the world a better place and vanish just like they came....
The Passage Clan have been cleaning up Resh's mess much to their own personal sorrow and downfall....
And they do this ANUALLY. They hold rituals and shamanic sessions where the elder teaches the next generation about the importance of adaptability, perseverance, love for kith and kin, love for the world, nature, honoring one's ancestors, teamwork, cooperation.... and then the kids go out into the world and undergo these spirit trials....
Passage Clan spirits are built different and I ADORE them.... ❤️
This, I am not sure of. I more lean into the idea of Krills being their own unique species that thrive in darkness and are the antithesis to the Creatures of Light, by differnece in their nature.
Wow
What is the connection between prince alef and king resh?
I... don't know 😅
They can eat what seems to be:
Bread, dumplings, mochi, marshmallows, fruit, fish (crab?)
Have we even seen the king and prince outside of murals? (Pls ping me in reply)
Are these creatures also called Manta?
Please do not cold ping like that.
Spirit Manta. They are kinda like memory of those creatures.
@narrow marsh ancestor faces under the mask are very... rotund
Scarred Sentry is not Wasteland Elder.
No, it is not Wasteland elder.
I have speculative Sky kingdom timeline if you wanna give it a read. It is not updated for Two Embers but it has 10 pages. It includes all you might be asking for. #promote-your-sky-content message
And if you want info about some stuff in Two Embers, you can check here: #promote-your-sky-content message
Alef is believed to be original name of King Resh before becoming the King as Alef is refered to as Prince in concept art.
None of those names are canon however.
In game? No.
In the movie? Yes!
I’m afraid I don’t know what exactly I’m looking at
Thoughtful director trying to find the bird on the wall while it is behind him
His chin is closest to camera and then theres “nose” bump.
It looks like maskless mask but round
Conclusion, Resh takes off his mask just to 🌚
I dont think I can manage to take shot like this of the dreams girl in phoenix fit as she appears only in cutscenes like that but since her mask also covers just half of the face like director then it is prolly same or simmilar under the mask.
This looks like a sky album cover lol
Ok what is this now
It’s just so
Wait the bird is back??
Rhythm daily!
Elder bird. Appeared during season of Rhythm and on Light Whisperer promo art.
See the chat above 🙂↕️
This one
Elder bird is an easter egg from early days of rhythm season. Then appear in light whisperer artwork. About why it appear in daily quest, maybe there's something to do with the next season/just TGC bring back some fun easter egg 🙂↕️
No, there's its model in the beta version of rhythm season. However, TGC did not use it in the live version
The summary source is on wiki. You can search it yourself
There's a whole video compile of season of rhythm beta in wiki. You can find the elder bird model in there.
Here's the video where the bird could be seen in live sky. Back then quests were very simple and upon completing the season with the pass, you'd get a cutscene like so
Oh! I was pretty sure it was there in the final cutscene of the live version of Season of Rhythm?
🕯️
Season of Rhythm final cutscene by Tara’s Sky Journey: https://youtu.be/PAX-1EarEqE
it was the same in live game too.
Sorry for delayed answer, I went back to sleep for a bit.
Oh is that so? My bad
at least they don't have to scream
Tell that to moths

Skykids definitely have to scream sometimes
Thats why they honk.
The deep call is screaming.
We honk not through our mouths but through the light. Kinda like echolocation except that it works through walls (skids deep calling will show up as eyes. An indication that the light connects us all).
I see honking as basically dangling the rope with which you are attached to every single other creature in the area.
🥤 📦: the 2 embers kid isn't a skykid, they're a (or were a) living being/human/actual person
🥤 📦: pretty much yeah
🥤 📦: it might be a bit of a stretch but the whisperers might be different dialects/languages, so the ancestors spirits could also mimic them
🥤 📦: I'd say collab calls (except 2E) don't count since they involve beings outside of the sky realm
or maybe aurora could also count since she seems to be an actual being in the sky kingdom instead of just a collab
I for sure scream in agony everytime some moff in Eden pushes me out from cover and rock blasts me across half od the map because of that
happens in atleast one dye run each week
hi ayn
I try to find people to push off in Eden.
No one's near me or they just fly. Fly like the cowards they are. They don't brave through the storm.
Kizuna is star pin exclusive call, just like the aurora and movie manatee one. They are spells.
Star features are spells.
She is finally not sitting alone anymore.
Is that POINTING CANDLEMAKER

oh. Too bad. Theyre insignificant.
whats up luca
Thats Resh, dont you see the baldness? it is whale whisperer by the way
lovely couple indeed
Applies spell with timer.
That baldy's head doesn't shine.
Resh's shines like the sun
I mean who wouldnt be blushing if the King himself decided to date you. /ref
Confusing Whale Whisperer with Pointing Candlemaker though?
Criminal.
Same clothes.
I assume every spirit is candlemaker.
Hes my favorite spirit after all.
His pants have symbiotically attached to my skykids. I cant wear anything else.
my man's already got a family, don't make him meet a second girl
What family? He just guides strangers to the straircase thingy.
i'm pretty sure it's shown in his memory

I dunno, looks more like Candlemaker giving a tour. All his gestures just seem like "Look at this, this is how candles are made", "Look here, this is the Elder" etc.
i guess we'll all have our own interpretations
I guess so
Thats discord issue.
it works on discord pc (desktop) some reason not on my mobile lol
Interesting neat detail:
Unlike other realms where you can see Eden from basically anywhere (except Wasteland and Vault for obvious reasons, yes you CAN see Eden from Forest), on Isle you dont see it at all until you hit the Prairie checkpoint when Sky logo appears on screen (not visible on screenshots just like commentary during Blue Bird quests).
It makes sense from storytelling and worldbuilding point - Isle is the (after Aviary) most faraway realm and also lowest located and you are "not supposed to" see it until it is shown to you in Isle Elder cuitscene.
Thank you so much for the info☺
So I mentioned much earlier in the lore chat that I would be making a blog
in case anyone may be interested...
... https://discordapp.com/channels/575762611111592007/632005270393978900/1417212501258403840
I think everything but Moomin could be reasonably explained in the lore.
How’s lore chat doing now that the mega birb is back again? xD
bruh...
Unless it is another play pretend, spirits can still feel temperature, Pleading Child please visit as TS I missed the group wisit ;; is warming his hands on bonfire.
Gave you follow
I SAW
thank you
OMG FINALLY
That is not Megabird but Rhythm Bird, aka Elder Bird. Megabird is in the game whole time, you can see it on sky on Orbit.
Elder Bird VS Megabird.
This popped on my pinterest board just now, admit it, who of yall did this 😭
It has to be someone from here cuz bald Resh jokes.
LMAO
Omg i saw that one too-
Cecil spotted 🫵
WHERE
There's apparently some sort of cutscene for the temple in the Last City, that area that requires the ult cape? Anyone know when that triggers?
It triggers when you enter the temple at the following exact minutes: xx:00, xx:20, xx:40. If you're already inside earlier as the time has just passed, exit and re-enter.
Ah, that makes sense why I haven't seen it lol, been lingering inside. Thanks!
does anyone know why the butterfly charmer has music when you're reliving that spirit
A lot of Spirit memories have music or background tracks for ambiance as you relive them! I think the charmer’s was made special and significant because it’s the 2nd Spirit most moths find on their journey
it's surprisingly jarring ngl at times
Oh yeah that's one of my favourites! I think it has a title too. Let me find
Hm I think I misremembered that it exists in the official OST album xD but yeah it does exist I swear I've seen its title
But that's true, many spirit relives have the backing tracks. The most significant one is the Remembrance relives where music plays a role in carrying emotions
I think what’s most jarring about it is you can tell it’s an entire theme, but the moth and definitely the average player completes the reliving in under 10 seconds in most cases, so there’s no time for the track to actually play
Whenever relive it, and any Spirit really, I take the time to take on each part of the memory.
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
Yeah they're designed for very new players to take their time and observe the memories as the tracks play. I think remembrance takes the role very excellently
I love completing that spirit slowly because I love that little piece of music. It makes the reliving task much nicer.
I guess Vincent Diamante came up with that melody that suits so well to Butterfly Charmer mini story.
i think it also shows the spirit's personality
What is that cutscene? I’m a f2p so I can’t see it 😭
After finally seeing it, its rather uneventful. ||Vault elder goes in, people glance in their direction, dude raises arms, place brightens up, and they walk back out. But, you do get a 10hr fast recharge spell||
Oh that’s ok
I was kind of one of those people who thought they were draining the light out of sick people in there and I thought it was smth like that
The room has dramatically changed quite a lot from the unfinished version you’re talking about; it heals now instead of damages
Why did I expect someone twisted?😅
TTE quest 5 has also music for extra salt in the wound
:(
Front facing manatee

"Front facing manatee isn't real, and can't hurt you"
So I guess that was a honkin' lie.
Well, I always get swarmed by Manatees in Prairie Peeks from using the Manatee staff
Or by swarmed, I mean 10/10 out numbered by the cuteness
Manatees from above are head empty.
so whats the deal with the Kilobird
I love this
Back in season of winter/rhythm the ending cutscene showed the spirits of the aforementioned season ride away in a giant bird nicknamed The Elder Bird. That was like, 2018/2019 and was never seen again except through a promotional image for season of flight.
We finally see the bird in game.
i see i see
in the idea that prophecies are VERY not very reliant on singular perspective
what if the cave of prophecy isnt about The King, or Alef, or Bet, or anyone.
what if the prophecy was meant for a character(s) in the future and we are only doing the monky brain thing of making patterns when there isnt actually any connection.
kinda like the whole child of prophecy thing from naruto
first it was minato, then it was nagato, then it was naruto, and now its boruto
Thank you for all the info. I have read your contenrs but I do not understand what is golden valley? I mean there is golden wasteland. And where are the sacred mountains? You said vault of knowledge is built inside the sacred mountains. And the golden Valley Colessium is it the Colessium of valley of triumph?
Golden Valley
Name of the city that is now Valley of Triumph and Golden Wasteland, namedropped during Seven Days Of Sky: https://x.com/thatskygame/status/1283925635560161280
Sacred Mountain
The mountain of Eden where all light creatures come to die and join the rebirth cycle again and again. The Ruler/King Resh built a giant castle on top of it and cut the light ascending to Orbit and sourced it to the giant darkstone crystal instean, which caused imbalance of forces and allowed Darkness spread more than it should, because there was almost no Light to balance it out.
Golden Valley concept art includes what we now know as Golden Wasteland (top right).
Valley was the rich ones while Wasteland was factory workers basically.
The market place that was shown in the current season is it part of golden Valley? And where is the location right now of this market place? How sacred mountains wad before the shattering? Like now there is the red zone where every body dies and krills lurking but before all this happened when only light creatures goes to die there and rebirth how was the place in that time?
So here’s the gist.
In the beginning, this special living substance called Light took the forms of living beings and traveled the world before returning to the Sky from the very top of Eden, where they would be reborn!

Humanoid beings of Light, who we call "the Ancestors", watched over this Light and shepherded the creatures of Light on their way to Eden.

But the Ruler
of the Ancestors realized they could steal the power of the Light for themself, and so they captured creatures and stole their Light using the giant red diamond you see at the end of the Eye of Eden. ♦️
Some of the kingdom didn't like this, and they rebelled. There was an entire war between the rebels and the Ruler's kingdom, and in the end, the red diamond overfilled with Light and Shattered, sending dangerous debris across the kingdom, spreading Darkness everywhere.

500 years after all of the Ancestors had died out, a new type of Being formed from The Light in the Sky, called a Descendant, which you know as skykids! Our purpose is to save the trapped Souls of the Ancestor Spirits, so that their inner Light can be freed and rejoin that Light in the Sky.

Hope this helps!
🕯️
Thank you brody
Between
Megabird and Aurora
Which one is huge
Definitely megabird
what does this symbol at grandmas mean? its also on the ultimate cape. why is it on both?
Aurora in "spirit" form is about size of colliseum.
Megabird is of size of half of the whole planet.
It's just a cool symbol they like
Belonging most likely. Grandma is the seasonal guide of belonging.
Granted I see that symbol in a lot of other places too, so the meaning might mean something else.
the eye symbol can be also seen on standard portals ,elder clothes and even the Village of Dreams, probably even more places but in my headcanon it symbolizes safety and steadiness, i'm still working on the idea though so my view may change
as to why is it on both... well, the elevated clearing is something of a safezone in refrence to the rest of Forest
as for the ult cape, there's a very fine detail that Spirits in the TTE area behave differently towards, with more respect if you would, thus it can be theorized that the cape actually belonged to some high-standing goverment official who took part in the safety of the Light Cycle or the Ancestors
am i reaching here? hell yeah but that's what we do here
LMAO WHAT THE HECK
Probably Aurora is huge size of colliseum but Megabird is very huge a whole of planet
And so granny would have… stole the cape?
huh?
where did that come from?
Well you said it’s the cape of officials. So it’s either that she stole the cape, or was one of your officials
Grandma doesn't have the ult cape from the current season
Old civilization, corrupted by darkness, big Eden explosion, skykids come down to help the world
Granny is actually the new dark stone
What's up with the kid who's hiding
Oh I got confused by the pic
Gaslit myself into misremembering the stars on granny’s back
But then, why is it there in the Belonging group’s shelter? (The dining area)
Granny is Megan ↕️
Its a common symbol. It appears in the following forms/locations:
Belonging season emblem and pendant
Moomin spirit harmonica
Moomin spirit and feast scarves
Gramma zone(your picture)
Current season ult cape(pattern on from and wing indicator on back)
Hair salon(?)
How old are skykids?
maybe that's the spot that was in some way a safe haven to them
if you think about it the spot where they can all come back to to eat seems very... homey
I think it represents the Light. it looks like a very simplified illustration of a light source with a surrounding halo, especially that of a lit candle flame in this game
Afaik it represents artificial light since it has that encapsulated < > mark. For example the ultimate cape is aking to the vault elder and his peers like the king/kingdom are glorifying it and making it into their way of life and religion, instead of following the natural order where light transcends and falls back down to earth.
Great list!
Iconic question
We can’t really be sure if they ‘age’, since skykids can transform their height all the time using Light. Not to mention we don’t know how long the Descendent’s era has ‘canonically’ been going on up til this present day.
Here’s a good example of the complications that come up when we try to look for any hint of comprehensible skykid anatomy
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I'm curious as to how long we've stayed in the current age. Some games have that "you're here after things went down" and some are "you are here as things are going down", but present the game world as an in-between where it's somewhat ambiguous. Two Embers is pulling in the storyline that we're after the ember events but I'm assuming since TGC wants to keep the game alive for at least a few more years to come until they show off their next game, it's likely the seasons will have some kind of repair of the light cycle eventually, where our age comes to an end perhaps?
It's interesting how the timeline plays out
We’ve actually done a lot of repair and maintenance of the Cycle, from freeing trapped Ancestor Spirits, freeing the creatures of the abyss from the leviathan, restoring the Sanctuary, collecting and gifting both Winged Light and all other Light, restoring the Wind Paths, cleaning up Shardfalls, cleaning up Darkness, et cetera.
One day I’m sure we’ll have finally have saved every Ancestor soul

Now that I think about it, Skykids are almost complete polar opposites to the vessels from Hollow Knight
-skids are beings of light that were made to purge the darkness, while vessels are ||beings of darkness made to contain the light||
-Skids are super expressive while vessels are ||hollow and emotionless||
Oh wow I was just comparing Hollow Knight lore and Sky lore earlier today

There's a hollow knight server on discord. I can send you an invite in dms if you're interested.
Wonder what happens if the two would fight each other
Vessel wins. Skids have no weapons besides staff(harmless fireworks), spear(short range), and shield(not a weapon).
listen i'm really late when it comes to hollow knight lore, but from what I understand "light" is not a good thing for those bugs? I think just being near a sky kid's candle would spell a bad day
Not light, radiance(orange stuff)
Extras with photos
Some cloths in dye workshop over doorway
A rug
Moomin clock
season of radiance...
Nope, coincidence, radiance in hollow knight is a god
well, then maybe we should stick to discussing the lore of sky here
But yes its bad
The diamond symbols are everywhere no matter where you go, it will always be there
WHY IS KRILL IN WATER I THOUGHT THIS WAS SAFE HERE
Yep were basically fixing the damage cause by the king's mistakes but those cracks will never go away as they are always a reminder of what happened, even if we were to see it far away, the damage still remains
the <◆> symbol is also present on the shirt of all clothing available from basic realm spirits. (it's very faint! you need to look closely)
so i really think it represents Light
Yeahh I think the Krills used to be water creatures according to the murals there but then evolved and manifested into the Golden Wasteland thanks to the tale of Two Embers
Photon-based lifeforms. Entire planet crushed into the singularity at the center of a black hole/fiery quasar upon the shattering of Eden. Space and Time collapsed. All moments exist as a unified constant. Countless souls imprisoned in the absence of change, and only the beings which operate under the laws of special relativity and quantum mechanics can move and witness fragments of the ancestors memories as we struggle to gather ALL of the Light. All of it. Every last scrap. Every being, every soul. Not one single piece left behind; even if it takes us all of forever. We have the time. Every photon returned to The Source. Everything travels towards the center. All beings move towards Eden.
TLDR: Sorry if it got a little preachy
I get mad speculative when the mood strikes me.
Yep
If Light is the meaning, why is it the main constellation of Season of Belonging?
Preexisting symbol, convenience
Touché
Player died again
Wow, way to go, Titi.
Bringing up people's mortality, huh?
Your name has dead^number that goes up, it went up, so I pointed it out
Never tell a dead person how dead they are. It's rude

all breathe starlight. we all belong to the light
How did you die?
Ask genchat
I think it looks like the symbol of the dark stone because has the same shape
Hey, I’ve heard of you! You have a document I read
So in your idea, light creatures would belong to this relativity outside of the captured time-space imprisonment? Just as we would also be?
I wonder if we’re going to have a really long span of time between dusk ember and dawn ember. I know people theorized from the trailers which character might be dawn, but I’m thinking in a more metaphorical sense, their names being from seeing the dawn and dusk of civilization.
Also this is fascinating, I love this take on it
Yes! Mantas and Manatees, Jellyfish and the flocks of Birds flying through the forest, even the big ol' Whale circling Sanctuary Islands.
One of my favorite recent developments about this comes right from The Two Embers; where we see that the evolution of Light Creatures had already begun before the Shattering. It shows that photon based life and carbon based life CAN exist simultaneously in a stable environment. Light Creatures do not require a singularity to survive like humans require oxygen and whatnot; they're just the only type of life that inadvertently CAN survive under the most extremely inhospitable conditions in the universe.
if so, it would make the standard portal a sign of some sort of Light trade route
Objection - sky kids are light creatures as well yet they need oxygen when underwater.
you know, the way the light accumulators were shown in TTE1 made me realize... that's what we're doing to fish
Exact dates she appears by Stoat - #seasons-events-chat message
We’re draining the fish of their powers
How so?
You mean in the ones that recharge you? Or the ones that were shown dead and dying in the show?
Yes
Do they? Or is it heat that they need? Perhaps being smothered by water begins to extinguish a skykid's flame rather than simply suffocating them? Certain waters are warm, and you can sit underneath all you want. There ARE at least a few places you can go in the game that don't seem to have oxygen at all. At that point the question becomes: How can we survive at all in orbital outer space areas like the Little Prince's 'Asteroid Belt' and the Space Station above the Office?
||my going answer-in-progress to that is that our fire doesn't actually consume oxygen. Owning to the idea that time doesn't actually tick, and so fire doesn't actually destroy physical matter. Which is why candles never melt and campfires don't need to be stoked.||
speaking of water, is there a reason as to why we can’t burn/light things while standing in water but in the underwater part of the main area in valley of triumph there’s candles that we can light
Random theory while it’s on the brain, so the theater has a bunch of Vault lanterns in a pile backstage. Now the lanterns are kinda strange because while the main goal is to store memories, they can also be little pocket dimensions for you to place objects in. But for the sake of this theory let’s go with the first use.
I think the performance spirits would sometimes record plays (probably focusing on historical re-enactments, and all around focusing on the culture of the time) to store them away for archival sake. Kinda like how people irl submit seemingly useless stuff to the Internet Archive so that they don’t get lost to time.
There’s no under water area in valley??
i mean the ice rink you can go under. it’s not an underwater area like the newer ones, like you can’t swim, but it is Under Water
That hasn’t been an underwater area since before abyss
That's not water. The surface of the lake froze over, and the water dried up.
It WAS water before Abyss!!??
That's potentially a BIG deal!
Do you maybe have any screenshots/videos of that?
That would be REALLY cool!
I’ll have to check old footage but when abyss came about (giving skykids the ability to not just swim but dive many water areas were adjusted)
oh wait i found a clip of it and it really is not water there huh. the blue colour and jellyfish and sound design made me think that it was water but i guess it’s not
well then that probably explains why i thought it was!! never noticed the change
It had me goin' for awhile, lol.
At least I wasn't one of the ones who thought the snow was sand, and that the Valley was a Desert.
I guess it must've been an adjustment for anyone who had played Journey prior to Sky's release.
that’s kinda tragic that it used to be underwater and now it’s not… what happened to my water… my poor poor water… lol
Can’t find footage but this message backs me up
You can also look up ‘ice rink water’ and you’ll find more peeps talking about it
found comparison pics
Also, little fun fact. Ice rink at first didn’t have water. Then had water. Then stopped having water.
ooo, when was the at first?
I’ll have to investigate
Yes, there was water. But people were saying that it makes no sense after the diving mechanic was added, because there is no oxygen meter under ice rink and there are candles down there as well. So the water surface animation was replaced with thin ice that breaks.
You can check it yourself in Light Awaits and pre-abyss videos from there.
Was this mural always here? It's pretty cool, seems to depict not only what the season of remembrance is about (reminiscing on important people and momentos from ones past) but also what we saw in the current season with Vault Elder preserving Dusks memory in a lantern
Hi everyone, I’m new in this chat. I just saw and edit I screenshotted. I’ve never heard about Alef/resh (I joined sky last march) but it seemed to play an important role in the lore. Could someone please explain to me?
collab areas mostly free of Darkness
But what about shards? Starlight desert has shard eruptions
Now that I think of it, the NCD probably gets rid if any darkness growing in the oasis.
shards are timely incursions of Darkness, not constant presence necessary for colored plants to exist
Oh.
Alef is the eden(big mountain with red stuff on it) elder. Resh is him as the prince(?). Hopeful steward is a guide you've likely met, in the aviary village. Skykids are players.
No I know all of that lol
I just didn’t know alef but thanks for the explanation
What are the purpose of masks, why do some characters wear them and some dont. I thought maybe it was a cultural thing and maybe it was taboo not to, but clearly not.
I think Ash, one of the TGC folks, said they indicated profession?
So are the maskless unemployed? characters like the applauding bellmaker are maskless but their name kinda suggests they have a job. The spell salesguy, the spirit that serves coffee by the dailies and a few others in aviary village are maskless too
Idk, maybe certain masks just serve to indicate certain professions? But they aren’t a requirement?
we're fishing by exploiting how light gets collected to darkstones
it also explains why random items also get pulled along, they have enough light to get clumped to the little tiny darkstone
anyway there's something a bit sad about the director's friends not able to activate the four player door
They were so focused also
🥤 📦: may i know where you found this mural? i cant seem to find it and i want to take a closer look at it
remembrance season area, centre
I wonder if the remembrance thing will actually amplify the natural cycle of light due to the sky kids remembering events and creatures together with the elder spirits, somehow boosting light. I hope embers ends with the natural order restored and there for sure will be another ingame event tied to it, so perhaps a final area to the game will be added
hi . im unfortunately afflicted with being a visual learner . has anyone made a timeline of sky's history in order
Uhhh sort of? It’s a lot of text but it is paired with plenty of images
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories
i hope your pillow is cold on both sides every day forever and you always find money on the floor when you walk
I was just recently thinking about how the Vault Elder can have the ability to see memories. ||Like how the final episode of Two Embers Part 1, she was able to see Dusk Ember's memory of her and her Manatee just before she took her to have her choose to either move on or to finish the job by taking down the King.||
I wonder if the other Elders have similar but different abilities like the Vault Elder
prairie with their magic hands manages to turn the player's light to a pot of butterflies? and also forest elder's smithing capabilities maybe
Wait. That's snow in Valley? Not sand?
I've been a fool.
has anyone actually gotten up an explanation on why everyone treats you like royalty once you have the ult cape on? Are we wearing the King's cape?
like they keep bowing to you
*vault elder's cape
it is meant to resemble the vault elder's clothing, and the elder is a highly respected member of the ancestors' community
oh
...wait how does it resemble the vault elder's cape, I don't see it, does it resemble the pre-TTE cape?
(I suggest to call the old VE design Light Awaits Lamed)
as i said, it resembles the vault elder's clothing. as depicted in the season.
all the normal elder designs aren't as stylized.
i need to sleep now.
i can't believe it took me 4 years to realize this, but...
skykids embody 3 elements: air, fire and earth
- air, because they can fly and take no fall damage
- fire, because of their chest candle, immunity to flame, propensity to collect flame, and ability to recharge from flame
- earth, because their bodies are made of clay (hardened into terracotta by their flame core), rocks grow on their body when they're sufficiently hurt, and the fact that they turn into stone when they die
Has our lore community reach a consensus on what Purple light🟣/Red light🔴/Black light⚫️/White light⚪️ represent as elements?
Earth: because they go DING when their face hits a wall at mach ten
Are you referring to the Colored Dyes, or the Quest Lights from the Forgotten Ark?
You know what, that's probably a stupid question because I don't think either of those have Elemental connotations.
Wait a minute, I'm even dumber than I thought.
The Colored Dyes DO have s o m e Elemental connotations.
The Yellow, Green, Blue and Cyan Dyes are marked with the symbols from The Fire, Earth, Water and Air Prophecy Trials respectively.
You specifically asked about the OTHER FOUR
I've always considered the Lights from Enchantment, Prophecy and Radiance are the same. Each season just expanded the lore on the lights
Maybe "elemental" was the wrong word, i meant have we figured out what "concept" those lights represented?
Yeah exactly
Purple Black White Red are the ones that are not obvious and they still stumpted me to this day
What would wrap it all up concisely would be another season akin to Prophecy featuring Trials tied to the symbols on those colors of Dye rather than the four that are already spoken for. 🤔
Let's do some easy work and assume that Black and White are Darkness and Light. Occam's Razor after all... That really just leaves Purple and Red
Space and Time are cool concepts I usually like to lump together with "Four" Elements themes after Light and Dark have been added, but it's hard to rationalize what Red or Purple specifically have to do with either of those in Sky.
Red in Enchantment had the hint "is found where Darkness prevails" so before Radiance happened, it was the consensus that Red meant smth akin to Darkness
The symbol on Red is also a Spiral, which has dark symbolism in Sky, too. Just look at Eden. Very Red, and it's where the cycle begins and ends.
Purple had the hint "hoards ancient secrets" which... is sm more vague
The consensus was that it means something like Technology (bc of the symbol looking like a diamond) or Memory
"Knowledge"
Yeah the spiral is one of the most confusing thing for me
Why a spiral but not a circle? Is it really Darkness? What about Black light then?
I think the Spiral represents more than just darkness. Balance is another cool concept, and you know what else has a somewhat spiraling design?
Ooh Knowledge is a good contender i haven't thought of that
☯️
I think it's a missed opportunity that I couldn't find a Emote that is actually black and white like the yin yang symbol is supposed to be, but you get the idea.
Ehh I'll be more skeptical on that
Yin yang has more a wave in the middle of the circle than a spiral
The places in which the Light are found also are a hint: Forgotten Ark dark cave and Crab Fields
They are both polluted and somewhat dark, but other than that i cant find other similarities
THERE we go! XD but I guess Water is already spoken for anyway.
Eh, I just like balance as a concept.
Balance IS a nice concept but i can't connect it to Red light or the places it was found in
Right? It's almost strange that Red is the only Enchantment Light that can be found in TWO different places, but BOTH of them are in the Golden Wasteland.
Two of the giant-boat themed rooms, no less.
Yeah!
Although i'll be more willing to overlook Forgetten ark's light bc it's possible it was there only for the sake of gameplay, like to be a 'tutorial' easy 1st quest in an area near the guide
Hence why i consider Crab fields' light to be more "canon" so to speak
I ain't sure about a consensus but lemme add my three cents to it
Purple-ancestral wizardry
Red light- active darkness
Black Light- slumbering Darkness
White Light- pure Light
Guys, if this animal was an elder manatee and its became a krill after being them light took away? It and the krill produce light by the (same shaped) eye
Interesting interesting
What would qualify as slumbering and active darkness for you?
active darkness- shards, drained motes, shattered Eden rocks and active krills
slumbering darkness- krill/skid body, husks, dark water, (possibly) slumbering krill, Eden rocks and uninteractive dark plants
i'd also add fluid darkness to the mix and qualify passive krills and dark plants to it
So many new people here
Sorry about the quality first off, I was doing eden like my previous two times but this time there was a difference, instead of just the huge white orb there was this bird like thing in the center, the light flickered a bit when my view centered on it, it appeared 2-3 times before returning to be the orb again. Did i just saw the Megabird? or maybe it was a visual bug? It was not my skykid, it is at the bottom of the image.
Our studies have observed colored lights as less of exact “elements” in terms of Theming and moreso grounded in emotional states

I’ve been continuing my research in other servers as Two Embers discussions stole the stage, to avoid scaring off all the lore moths
but I suppose I can post some of the things I’ve been working on now! It’s quiet at the moment, so prepare for some giant messages incoming, crew!

Here is the current state of Color research:
♦️
Red & 🩵 ☁️ Cyan = Axis of Expressive Disconnection
Unload/Overload and Unfathom
🟩 ⛰️ Green & 💜 🔮 Purple = Material vs Metaphysical growth
Physical/Body and Cultivation/Mind
Blue & Orange = Transformative Mediums
Pooling and Melting
🔳 Black and 👥 White = Separation and Reunion
The Oscillation of Connection
Daylight Prairie: Red Yellow White
[Signature; Warming/Melting, natural “Chaos”.]
Hidden Forest: Green Cyan White
[Signatures; Unfathom, Presence/Ego/Body]
Valley of Triumph: Red Yellow Green Cyan White
[Only in and by the Temples]
[No signature; representative of Potential]
Golden Wasteland: Blue Purple Black
[Signature; Pooling/Depths]
Vault of Knowledge: Blue Purple Black
[Only in the Archives]
[ Pooling/Depths]
Eye of Eden: Red and Black
[Signature; Overload]
Wind Paths: All Colors
Notes
- Purple being tied to Vault is unclear.
- Functionally, both the Wasteland and the Vault represent Pooling/Depth, but since the Darkness has only reached as far as the archive hallways, colored plants in Vault only represent the emotional state of those hallways until further empirical notice.
- Red being present in Prairie is strange.
- More recent discussion with Caster recommends that Overload/Unload represents mental “Unwinding”; pure unraveling chaos.
- This chaos is likely represented by the immense creature diversity.
- White as Connection also begs reference the immense ecology of the Prairie.
||“To me Red was never about darkness, and moreso about the emotional resonance I listed of Unload. Materially, it would be an eruption/vomiting effect caused by an overload.
Additionally, White being a part of the early realms, and Black being a part of all later realms, is the hint we need to figure out their place in this.”
Reunion (to Light)
Separation (from Light)||
And that should be the general idea of what we’ve got for the time being! Viewing colored Lights as Light substance going through transformative emotional states allows us to remain in the potential of ambiguity while also grounding ourselves in a documentable axis of psychological intrigue that can effectively reverse-engineer the intention behind each color in TGC’s eyes. However, in order for it to grow stronger and better studied, we will need more eyes on the idea over time, to better document and discuss it and bring it to new levels of brainstorm. I’m not sure if we’re close to entering back into these kinds of discussions here in Lorechat yet (or in the entire Lore community at all, honestly) but I’ll place this here in the meantime.
🕯️
Many people have been seeing that! It seems to be a very strange glitch
I think those creatures are what became the krill too!
Its a bug, the megabird actually is the light
For the purpose of further revelation, I think it’s important that that was the hint given to find a very specific orb of colored light. I dont think we can treat the hints we got on the Enchantment scavenger hunt as a end-all rule as to how and where different colored lights can form.
🕯️
The creatures and skykids going to light are part of the megabird too
Theres some representations of this in game
Me when I found out the god of Sky is just the universe itself

It is? I always thought it was some kind of giant glowing half bird half manta... though some representations misguide, in some parts it is a weird glowing bird and others is just that strange shape on the first image luᷢsͤcͮaͤ posted
The megabird is the light orb and the creatures going to them is the "tail"
It gave light fragments before the dark stone be discovered (daily mission to catch the light from
) and after they started to knew how to use the light for magic (
) has a started an era to be independent from the megabird light by the dark stones, something like this
I find that the art book’s description of what the Megabird is now best sums it up for everyone

oh i've seen that! pretty sure it's a T-posing manta
Where did the Darkness and it's creatures come from? I believe God wanted to punish the people for their greed. This he sent Darkness. But after a while he chose to give them a way out and sent the children of light for redemption. It's like Noah and the Arc. Flood and the Ship
The presence of Darkness seems to become more prevalent whenever Light is sapped away from an area, and not passed around and given to the beings in that area. It’s definitely true that Darkness became much greater of a force as a result of the Ancestor’s manipulation of the Light in the world
🕯️
i do think we need more content in the game that helps demonstrate that darkness wasn't always an oppositional force. it's hard to extract that from the current state of the narrative without discussing it with other players...
tag me in reply pls
so i have a question. ive seen loads of fanart, memes, mentions of it- a Teth × Tsadi ship. why is that? what is the history behind those two?
All purely fanart! I think the only argument I’ve heard for that ship is that their realms both had… factories?
Still a good ship though; people get a lot of mileage out of it!
Well, I’m not sure if any theorist could or should confidently claim that Darkness was a kind force, or even a literal force at all! It’s moreso a mental and metaphorical Theming, representing Separation and Isolation
That’s all we can be sure of based on the concept material we’ve been allowed to work with
🕯️
but there's the concept of dark creatures, but to date we really only have two dark creatures (krill and days of nature worm) in the theoretical beastiary.
I don't know that we can call crabs dark creatures since there are some that don't shed darkness flakes, and the timid toymakers rendition of a crab may in fact be a light creature! it has a star symbol on its forehead and the claws may be indicative of a secondary evolution, like mantas gaining additional wings
I want to know about more dark creatures. I want to know how it can be used as a plot device not just as a destructive impetus. light itself can be a destructive impetus, too much light can keep you from being able to see things at all. it would be really interesting if the game's narrative leaned more into the thematic potential of light versus dark
What is a destructive impetus?
an impetus is something that motivates you. in this case, I'm describing it as a plot device that moves things forward.
as a destructive impetus, darkness is largely treated in an antagonistic manner in the plot. whereas light is treated as a constructive impetus, a protagonistic manner.
so, it would be interesting to see darkness used more constructively in the narrative. does that make sense?
Oh, maybe!
I think that’s exactly what I love about Sky; Darkness, Void, and Calcification, were designed to be our antagonistic impetus as the Descendants. (Skychildren)
But early on in Sky’s development, Darkness was never something that ‘naturally always existed’, specifically in the Ancestor’s Era I mean. Before Two Embers came out and switched everything up on its heel, we were meant to treat Darkness as the consequence of our Ancestor’s actions, passed down onto us.
That Darkness is our antagonist, but the Ancestor’s antagonist was themselves and their own greed and hubris. In the final moments of the Last City, the Darkness definitely was Stewie and the other’s antagonist though, for sure…
I’m not sure if that makes much sense, so let me know if it doesn’t

Lanterns lore from new sky IG post.
i see! tyyyy
A short essay on what krills are attracted to
TLDR: powered dark stones > skykids & elder light creatures > ordinary light creatures > neutral creatures
- powered dark stones
- dark stones are used to create the first krills
- 500 years ago, beacons were used to attract krills away from the last city
- attraction to dark stones is a fundamental part of krill biology, & this trait is passed down for generations
- skykids & elder light creatures
- both possess so much more light than ordinary light creatures
- ordinary light creatures
- staple food source, they have trouble escaping krills' charge
- but takes multiple light creatures to fulfill their dietary needs.
- (do krills eat light plants, too?)
- neutral creatures
- contain some light (albeit very little), a passable food source
- need to be consumed in mass (see: krill attacks in Two Embers).
- (or did krills only eat that many ancestors at once, because they were starved? after all, they were kept away from civilization by the beacons)
Since we currently see that Krills are native in Wasteland and Eden, weren't they going to other areas too? I know they showed up in some Seasons: Abyss, Nine Colored Deer, and Little Prince. And ||King Krill showed up briefly in Moomins in the final quest||
I have a big part of lore to discuss
WHY ARE THE SKYKIDS SO MUCH SMALLER THAN THE SPIRITS? I have a couple theories but none of them have really stuck, what does anyone here think?
Skykids didnt eat their veggies
spirits and skykids seem to be the same biologically
my main theory is the sky kids actually used to be bigger but as more and more got lost in eden, the more resources were used to create the next especially considering they needed a stronger one to beat eden so maybe their size is directly caused by the megabird or whatever makes them losing resources as the realms slowly die?
you're a child, therefore you're the size of a child
to me there's still a glaring issue with that though because the spirit children are still bigger than us like the little prince and hopful steward.
but yeah maybe we're just SUUUPER young and that's why.
idk about you but this guy seems to be similiarly sized to me
OH.
OMG I NEVER NOTICED THAT.
Popular theory is that there arent still many resources and that Megabird is still not in full power yet so everything is smaller now. Also sk kids are literal children.
yehh
Reacting to this.
No they are not at all.
Ancestors (spirits) are closer to the crabs on the spectrum of living beings.
Skids and elders come from the megabird. Elders are not sky kids but they are much closer to us than they are to ancestors and crabs.
Ahhhh honestly I thought everything came from the megabird
What's the megabird?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
basically an entity that only has visual representations in the game, and nothing textual to date
I see...
Except the art book.
Here is a comprehensive summary of what the Megabird is in today's iteration of Sky.

Thanks a bunch 🙏🏾
For those who want to see a bit of old sky concept art about sky creatures. I'd like to share some images by Yuichiro Tanabe and Tom Zhao.
They did these lovely designs for light creatures.
I wish we can see more types of light creatures in sky. Not just a handful that gets placed about like promotional material, but a true expansion to the world of sky.
I remember in the beta for season of Abyss that there was once a creature they added that looked like a sea turtle with a coral reef on its back.
It looked like the Sanctuary turtle but it reminds me more of the Light Awaits spirit turtle without the coral reef.
I like to call it the reefback turtle as a nickname. ❤️
[late reply, my bad]
I believe it has to do with the narative and visual story telling.
The more powerful creatures or characters in sky are typically larger. Like the light creatures such as the manta, greater manta, and elder manta. Or the elders with the children, ancestors, and elders.
Even the King is presented as a more powerful character compared to the elders based on their sheer size difference.
That said, the skykids are much smaller. So it makes them seem insignificant. But the beauty in the story is how a lone skykid may be small and weak, but more skykids make each other stronger and therefore more significant. ❤️
Ohhhhhhhhhhh yeah I see
I noticed a few theories here that got shot down with
I get what they mean, as in they are not likely canon. But I would love to remind folks that the lore is open to interpretation.
Meaning that people can have their own interpretations, theories, or even whole AU (Alternate Universes) about Sky.
We can figure out that they may not be canon, but that said, we shouldn't discourage one another for exploring ideas.
Please be kind. This is a public forum and people are allowed to share their thoughts in a safe and positive space.
Abyss is in gw and we see murals of krill hatching from eggs there
But I'm pretty sure that to get to any other place - they flew
I've had some
too a few times on my own theories. I try my best to shrug that off and move on. I enjoy and want to have fun with theories of my own
Huh, I don't remember seeing anything about Krills coming from eggs. Maybe next time I go to Treasure Reef, I'll check that out 😁
@faint snow
Mentioning you here so I dont clog up the screenshots channel 😅
My theory for your blushing prospector post is that if we follow QiXi festival lore, she and bald spirit guy are star crossed lovers who can only meet on 1 day, once a year
The rest of the time she spends with her other friends!
But she’s shy and gets flustered easily when ppl are very nice to her - she thinks they are hitting on her when in reality they may not be (my personal hc for her lol)
There is difference between answering someone lore related question about something we know about a lot with headcanon (AU)/untrue fact and theorizing about things with visible context that it is just theory/headcanon. Generally NO reactions are put on messages when it is first case.
Headcanons about OCs belong to #general-sky-discussion (mods were asked aboit that).
The mural they speak of is actually from concept art, and not actually in the game.
Oh, I’ve not seen any mention of OCs or fanfic AUs in a very long time! It’s nice to know the mods have given confirmation about that
🕯️
There have been some few months ago but they are buried in convo now.
wow, I love this!

headcanons = fan theory = sky lore
They have different uses and values.
But posting a headcanon in the general chat where it will get buried in general is sad.
That is why cosy chat exists for folk to have more relaxed convos.
Or here when it comes to lore, or more plainly the stories in sky.
lore chat has seen a lot of fan theories and purifying it for canon will open up a can of beans of semantics.
If Luca wants an example if that logic were to be applied:
#lore-discussion-spoilers message this would have been in #sky-memes
#lore-discussion-spoilers message also memes
I wanted to point a few things out for the sake of showing the point.
This channel has moderation that limits serious talks in any case. Those who made theories about difficult topics would know the struggle.
Ergo, small talk like jokes or fan theories are fine.
especially in a channel as quiet as this one.
and now more than ever with the lore crumbs we can pick over.
About OC headcanons in this channel, from Sof: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Second picture was realted to ongoing lore conversation, you are just nitpicking for sake to have a point. Stop that.
[Skybot, I am getting very upset at you.....]
[let's dumb down what was already a simple message for sensitive bot]
"While certain mentions of OC’s are okay (for example “oh I have an OC built around this theory” or anything similar), we can’t allow extensive conversations about OC lore" from Sof
And "small talk" from me.
OC lore has been part of the channel for years.
The mods may enforce things every now and again. But the channel has a long history of social dynamics, domination and people telling others what is right without saying why.
People can say "that is a nice theory," or "cool idea" or have a small chat about their skykid in the world.
I find the minor bits of hypocrisy frustrating when a person tells someone flat out "no" and insert their own bit of information as if it overrides the other's comment.
let people have space to chat.
Stop reacting to my messages please, I have you blocked for a reason and you know you are blocked.
Most of the time you write something here it is paragraph targeting me and telling me how wrong I am and it is uncomfortable and creates uncomfortable atmosphere for rest of this channel as well.
If you have problem you can always #contact-the-mods instead.
I can't react to your messages, that is correct.
Blocking people is perfectly fine.
I have contacted the mods over a lot of things.
All I ask is not pester other people over a message. Them responding to that behaviour does make them attacking you.
The last sentence is great advice to follow oneself as well.
Oh megabird what happened
I plead that i was misinformed as well and have bad memory
long story.
I can dm if you want more info.
...nah I'm good for now. I think. I've added you in case curiosity hits
Whiteknighting.
All of Tom Zhao 's work is fantastic.
It's cool to realize how much of it made it into the final product.
Oh ok I was thinking about it being canon 😂 But thx for that
sat up here and tried to puzzle together memories and the area of the market
All concept art is still important! But an air of caution always helps when trying to direct the source material
The differences and similarities between the realm now and the Last City then are so haunting…
plus the giant spears
I usually go to #general-sky-discussion for OC's. I don't usually care if Im wrong or not about theories 😁
Was checking air prophet cosmetics and decided to check the old hints out of curiosity and 😭
Air prophet on the outside: 😐
Air prophet on the inside: 🤪
Technically, since we are all light fragments the mega bird drops as it flies around the galaxy, we are bird droppings
Big eldritch bird shaped light creature
When I was in this area, I thought that this was once the Market in the Two Embers area.
I think it is too
The ruin that sits in from of the temple, which should be behind your back based on the picture as reference, would be the building seen next to the market area.
Sadly in the game, the area has not been updated to the remnants of the walls, buildings or a layout aside from that building where the sick were led towards and the vault elder was seen.
I hope TGC would consider updating the area to show this better. It would also spruce up the otherwise empty desert in that space.
For such a large and open area, you'd think it would have more points of interest aside from the ruined building, 2 towers, temple front, and a few weapons scattered about the space roughly leading up the temple.
Especially after 5 years of waiting to find out.
[ context: this is a critique, as well as an observation ]
What's the community consensus on what Radiance ult mask is?
I thought it looked like a deer until i took a look back to Gratitude ult mask, Radiance ult looks almot like a cow in comparison.
no comment
I was thinking it looked like an antelope
I was pretty close.
But in comparison, in Wasteland, the Last City looked pretty small but it was a good size with a good amount of people. Today's Wasteland looks bigger
I've been trying to find animals that match those horns and it led me down a small rabbithole of me finding horned mammals like pronghorns (though belonging to a different family), oryxes, and other animals with similar faces and horns.
Gratitude guide mask is a deer though, maybe i am greatly overthinking things and Radiance guide mask is also a deer

It was said in one livestream it is antelope.
Then i AM overthinking
😭 😭 😭
No that's so real tho 😭 cuz i used to go into so many rabbit holes to identify Sky flowers too 😭
Lorechat, any ideas for these 3 masks?

Whats with them?
Ideas on what birds the masks are depicting
same bird, just 2 meetings with the hydraulic press
Considering the other owl twin squad has masks inspired by different penguins, this one could be other polar birds/owls.
Respectful Pianist is also valid to this as there is bird called Snow Goose that (obviously) lives in cold climate.
Snow goose have a pointy beak though, while Respectful Pianist has a characteristic blunt "square" beak, resembling ducks more
Long Tailed Duck then.
It even lowkey has "tuxedo", fitting for pianist.
I'm just looking for the general animal, just Duck would suffice to me for Pianist haha 😂
Ah, Im trying to keep it in the "arctic bird" category.
Troupe Greeter - Gyrfalcon
Admiring actor - Thick billed murre
Respectful pianist - Long tailed duck
Thoughtful Director -Rock Ptarmigan
If we keep it in the arctic birds theme of course.
Zoology is awesome
The thinking Director is likely an owl (unsure on what species)
The kissing Actor is uncertain though resembles the Elder bird from the same season
. A possible guess may be a crane.
The Troupe Greeter. I was told once that they are like an albatross, or possibly a parrot (these are hypotheticals though)
Almost certainly. The destroyed building (off to the side of your screenshot) coordinates with the 'shrine'(?) where you need the Ult Cape to enter, and you can see inside the Elder's Temple after the Third Quest. Going back to the present-day Temple in the Wasteland; you realize it's just filled with sand.
Dang... These theories like that have you be like, " Oh my gosh, I need to know more!!!!"
Maybe I'll need to take a few screenshots to see the difference in the current timeline and the past before everything went far downhill
kinda interesting that the seed of hope spirit from season of Aurora used the ruins as a makeshift shelter for the wounded.
Come to think of it, for timeline's sake, would the Seed of Hope's time be right after Two Embers or kind of towards the end? Im thinking that he and his comrades were trying to survive the best they can
My theory is this: in two embers, they know how to beat back the krills, and can successfully counter it via the darkstone. So maybe, they have fought krills beforehand. Thus, Seed of Hope happens before Two Embers.
it was during the war, so it could be during, or after
Aurora's songs seem to have taken place at multiple times in the history of the kingdom.
As implied by the different realms and different scenarios it showcased.
It's all a puzzle 🧩 Sometimes it my brain scrambles from it 😆

Not directly related to the game, the riddle reads like the classical "starlight starbright" wishing star nursery rhyme
Is the Projector of Memories a limited time item or permanent? (The one that shows the Two Embers movie)
Permanent in game shop
ENTIRELY unrelated to the lore, but I’m curious about what my moot on SkyTok.
Now, I’m certain as to WHAT kind of media they would’ve had in the world of Sky. I know we have stage-plays, manta-races, the Olympics, concerts. But like- FICTIONAL CRUSHES??
What do they mean by that?! What kind of media would even have a fictional character for them to crush on??
i mean, characters in stage plays are fictional characters unless the plays are totally historical, which i doubt all of them would be. any character in anything fictional is a fictional character
Understandable, maybe he crushes on one of the stage play characters.
imagine they consistently crush on characters played by a specific actor…
I’D LOVE THAT-
Performance guide propably has lot of fans even when not really an actor…
Mellow is maybe Ed Sheeran of Sky world
Books
Please do not spread leaks and rumors here.
Oh my bad
Unless it is beta content (which should be discussed only in beta channels) or announced in #news , we are not allowed to talk about it here. And your message was none of it.
@wintry matrix to answer your
:
It's a hilarious (if I may say so) example that you don't need modern digital media to have fictional crushes. Trying to playfully answer Cherie's question about Troupe Greeter. People always been the same, you know?
We silly.
That is fair.
I am sure that a lot of people had fictional crushes before the printed letter press was invented, before written text was made accessible, all the way back when the word or mouth carried stories, myths, and legends from one generation to the next.
Me personally, I’d never have a fictional crush

That sounds like something someone with fictional crush would say
denial is the river in Egypt /lh
Do you think ancestors have concept of birthdays? Since they are not really "born", maybe something simmilar to it? Fallday? Adoptionday????
Since every spirits in the game is fictional including Troupe Greeter, if they had a crush on another spirit would that count as fictional crush?
Spawn Day
However, I still believe that ancestors populate through mitosis
I indeed spawned on this day many years ago
There was a big storm and boom I am here, existing on this world
The aliens forgot to pick me back up and bring me home
fallday... I have a funny concept in my head now that if ancestor children fell from the sky, imagine seeing a star falling and you got an adult running to that location to quickly adopt the child

Stewie absolutely would do that if they werent statue when we first met them.
And kinda does when we return from Eden during Revival quests iirc.
I have a headcanon about Sky kids:
So they are able to make sounds (honks obviously, quiet snores, confused noises, and just in general what little you hear of the Sky people in Two Embers), but they cannot form sentences and probably can't talk. I believe they don't have a spoken language either, they're kinda like animals.
And with this, I believe that IF they came in contact with a human who spoke English, although they couldn't actually speak English or even form coherent sentences, I believe somewhat like parrots they'd try to mimick the sounds. They don't understand it, but sometimes they'd vaguely sound human. They could say certain words, such as "Hi!" "what?" "Hey!" "Hello!" Etc. It's basically like those videos of cats who sound like they're speaking english.
That's interesting!
That is cool.
Almost like a hypothetical experiment when you have people absent of a learned language, they end up developing a new one in its place.
I am sure there have been smaller studies made in games like Journey or similar games where communication is limited or absent.
Either way, that is a fascinating topic to explore. Especially when coupled with Sky.
Where language is not heard but felt instead. ❤️
This plays very well into my theory that one our base superpowers is Telepathy. That's how "chat" works the way it does. We transmit our thoughts and understand eachother even across long distances and through walls, but only to those who we trust. Such as our friends, and anyone we choose to sit at a bench or table with. Plus, that explains why any "human" language can go through the translator and be interpreted by anyone we communicate with. It's a matter of conceptual thought; not actually definitive words. It's only perceived that way to the Player, through the screen.
"Mind and Body, Heart and Soul" 🫂
We truly are Connected, even across all of those Spaces
🕯️
The sun isn’t real.
0.0 oh?
my partner thinks that the last quest of the season is hinting that we are reincarnated versions of the kid from the story, but i'm not fully sold on that for some reason, is that well known lore now?
Reincarnation as part of Hinduism has been in theories before, as with others about the idea of the game running in cycles. The rebirth as with Buddhism can be similar to reincarnation, however a key difference is that rebirth means you get to continue with your former life. Reincarnation is more a true reset where you get a new life entirely.
Think of it as a one-up that grants an extra life to keep playing (rebirth), versus starting a new game with a different save (reincarnation).
All of this is philosophical and a bit religious (more so mythological), but this is a deeper part of the lore folks can explore if they so wish, but wont have to if they are not interested in that type of lore.
TLDR; it has been part of lore discussions for a long time.
if anything, if we're not reincarnations of the kid, the kid is definitely the winged light inside GW temple
Do you know Resh powers and Ra (also know as Re) powers are bit similar.
And if you notice Tgc is more inspired by Ancient Egyptian mythology gods
Like Anubis and Hathor masks are proofs

And there are more folks who also wrote similar theories:
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
- Association with Light and Creation:
• Ra: As the sun god, Ra is the ultimate source of light and life in Egyptian mythology. He is credited with creating the world, the other gods, and humanity. His daily journey across the sky brings warmth and light, and his nightly journey through the underworld represents the cycle of death and rebirth.
• Resh/Eden Elder: The entire world of Sky is built on the concept of Light. The Elders, and particularly the Eden Elder (Resh), are the original beings of light. They were responsible for the creation and flourishing of the Sky kingdom. The game's cycle of going through Eden, losing your light, and being reborn at the Eye of Eden is a direct parallel to a cycle of light, destruction, and renewal.
- King and Source of Order:
• Ra: Ra was considered the "King of the Gods" and the supreme deity. He was the embodiment of Ma'at, the ancient Egyptian concept of cosmic order, truth, and balance. His rule ensured that the universe functioned correctly.
• Resh/Eden Elder: Resh is referred to as the "King of Sky" or the "King of Eden." The Elders are the rulers of their respective realms, and the Eden Elder was the central figure. His presence and power were what kept the kingdom in its state of balance and prosperity. The game's state of ruin is a result of his fall from grace, a direct subversion of the order he once upheld.
- The Fall from Grace and Destruction:
• Ra: In some myths, Ra grows old and weary of humanity's disobedience. He sends his Eye, in the form of the goddess Sekhmet, to punish and destroy mankind. This act of divine wrath demonstrates his power to not only create but also to bring about cataclysmic destruction.
• Resh/Eden Elder: Resh's story is one of a great and tragic fall. He and his people "over-harvested" the light and became too powerful and greedy. This led to a catastrophic event, an eruption of the "Eden core," which destroyed the kingdom and turned its inhabitants into stone-like "petrified" forms. The very power he was meant to protect became the source of his and his kingdom's destruction.
- The Journey of Rebirth:
• Ra: Every night, Ra journeys through the underworld, battling the serpent Apep to be reborn at dawn. This symbolizes the daily renewal of the sun and life itself.
• Resh/Eden Elder: The player's journey through Eden is a journey into darkness and death, where you lose all of your "Winged Light." At the end, you ascend to the "Orbit" where you are reborn, a direct and continuous cycle of death and rebirth. This echoes Ra's nightly journey and rebirth, but in a more personal, player-driven way.
@nimble ingot I got interest in this when I got to know about Anubis , and Hathor are in game
Anubis as god of Death and Hathor goddess of love
What powers? We saw almost none. Him owning big shiny rock does not equal any power, its just utilizing technomagical stuff. Saying it is some powers is like saying that having phone with internet access makes you walking 5G tower.
To be honest I wouldnt even be surprised if, despite his younger self being portrayed as (proto) sky kid, he was powerless but wanted to have some power and thats what led him into using darkstone technology and such.
Hathor was portrayed as cow. Radiance mask was said by devs to be antelope.
Antelope?
Yes. It was said in livestream that came out around days of color.
But it looks 99.99% similar to it
Simmilarity doesnt mean equality.
Lot of people think that “real life” Anubis is jackal (canis aureus) but is in fact arabian wolf (canis lupus arabs).
What Im trying to say is that just because both have horns and wide snout does not mean that antelope is a cow and viceversa.
Yes. Eland is sacred antelope of Africa, often associated with sun.
I see
yk, i don't really understand the geography of sky, its clear that through the temple of wasteland, comes the vault of knowledge
in the animated series the two embers, the vault elder shows the castle thingy above the vault of knowledge to dusk ember,
im confused if that castle is eden?, anyways the castle is shattered from the explosion and can be seen as the peak of the eden mountain from all the other realms. and most clearly after the valley temple.
we also see the shattered castle in the cutscene of isle temple mediation owaowa.
so im gonna assume that shattered castle is actually the eye of eden, coz well, logically, castle contained the big light diamond, big light diamond kaboom, castle kaboom, castle eden
so after we go to eden from the peak of vault of knowledge, after meeting with the vault elder, we're actually in that castle area right?, we go towards the corrupted light diamond and die, nd then we see that child of light, which people believe is actually resh.
before we ascend to the orbit, we get to see that castle again? and its intact?,
all this yap, and i wnna ask, is that castle thingy the eye of eden? and was resh the elder of that castle/eden?
i suppose the reason we see the castle intact before flying up to the orbit is some symbolic thing of restoration of something. and we're actually seeing the castle in its glory
this pretty much my question, otherwise the geography of sky amazes me and i LOVE IT, the fact that the eden mountain is just a city once thriving but now covered with dark clouds is visible from all the other realms, and a little part of that city is actually visible if we look closely from after the valley temple
the castle is just over the Eye of Eden
The Shard is under the castle
simple as
this white glowy thingy is the shard?
Most likely, yeah
Yes it is. I dont have screenshot at hand now but in the star projector version its shape is clearly visible that it is indeed the diamond.
Hi there!
The land goes like this:
wasteland temple
>> vault of knowledge
>> vault last floor (the one with constellation table, not the summit with thrones)
>> “city” part of the eden (that part located ON the mountain itself), in present day it is the first two eden maps + PNR
>> the round arched structure around the crystal, in present day the first area where you ascend to Orbit, if you backtrack and fly up, you can find remains of the arches there still - #lore-discussion-spoilers message
>> the floating castle ABOVE the eden mountain, in present day known as the fragmented castle you pass by during ascension and what you can see from almost every map
Let me know if you have any other questions, I have mapped the enviroment quite well thanks to the little project im working on.
It’s also important to note that Vault is inside the mountain, and is a giant elevator to the top. A lot of people get confused by some murals depicting the Temples, where Vault is often interpreted to look like a giant tower.
I think it looks very similar, I’ve always wondered about potential significances of that mask and I agree with @shell mortar, it’s pretty cool how similar they are!
🕯️
Two towers actually ☝️🤓
Even if it doesn’t exactly work that way, there’s a lot of worldbuilding implications that are very important to us in the concept of reincarnation.
In Sky, all souls are made of the magical Light substance, and these souls have the ability and potential to transform into anything! So it’s possible that the Light that made up past Beings could become the Light that forms you and me.
🕯️
Oh?
Im not sure if it is fixed already but there was one mural that had two towers instead of just one
I wonder how elders are formed who created them
Isn’t it in some space like area?
It’s like Empty space elevator, and cosmic mantas
Resh is the first ever elder of sky
Inside hollowed out portions of the mountain, yes. But it’s all underground
(The image is early development concept art from the devs to give an idea, but obviously not accurate to the modern game.)
Resh (as Alef) was guided by the elders. Until becoming the King, he is portrayed on murals as child of light.
If he got guided by elders then who is the first child of Light?
As per my research, Resh is the First Child of Light in sky
I see
He is. Unless proven otherwise. We have to wait for part 2.
However you said he is the first elder, not first child of light.
Yeah ik this two different questions
I mean if he is first child of light then he should probably the first elder too?, or elders are different?
He is the one handles the light in Eden
Elders predate the existence of Resh, afaik. I think I heard someone say once that he was actually adopted and raised by the Isle of Dawn Elder.
Hmm 🤔 I don’t think he got raised by elder ,
Yeah, take that detail with a grain of salt, I can only say it secondhand; at best.
Please do not talk about leaks here.
Wasn't he raised by a spirit with the "come here" emote and with one other spirit in Isle of Dawn?
You can always go to one of the beta sections
This is not beta content either. This is straight up leaks.
Current beta allowed to share has nothing from upcoming season.
I thought upcoming stuff can only be talked about in the beta section. Sorry I'm still kinda new-ish about beta stuff. Gtk
Yes. But only upcoming stuff included in beta build that is allowed to share. Any other beta content is NDA.
Current beta build allowed to share is 0.30.5, new season is 0.31.0 and is subject to NDA.
Isn’t alef the prince?
Understand, and also that’s right ,
I completed the red shard and now I have been teleported to this mysterious looking space
I’ll keep that in my mind 😔
Yeah and Resh is the King. He might've changed his name when he became king. But either I can't remember how or not sure about it. It's questionable to me hehe
@wintry matrix and @shell mortar Your messages were deleted: content leaks are not allowed to be discussed here, and we also expect our members to be respectful and considerate of each other when reminding each other of the rules. Thank you for your understanding!
I wasnt sharing any leaks.
It's ok, you're not the only one who forgets rules. So you're not the only one
I try to remember
I got it
You were not: however, telling members that "sorry is not enough" for forgetting or misunderstanding rules is not appropriate or welcoming server behavior either.
sigh This topic again? My first message was “Please do not talk about leaks there.” Instead of deleting the message, OP was just saying sorry and then acting like nothing happened, leaving said leaks on everyones eyes. I also posted report about it in time between those two messages.
Bro am new here I didn’t knew about this
The moderators have addressed the situation and deleted relevant messages, and it was a misunderstanding: it's time to move on now.
I hope you understand where I am coming from. Simply cant be all sweetheart and cute and handholding to people ruining fun to everyone.
Atleast it wasnt straight up huge picture with every upcoming cosmetic like last time.
This is another example why we all wanted the “spoilers” word be removed from this channel name.
Sure , thanks
I forget rules here sometimes 😆 But no one is perfect, we all try our best ❤️
For lore, I feel like these belonged to some light creature. One of the quests in the Blue Bird Season, the Blue Bird landed there. Maybe it's the bird's?? Maybe not?
It's a bird! It's a pea! Oh wait, it's me! Hehehe
Its a remmants of old Light Awaits daily quest - Admire Eagle Nest. I think you asked about this here before too.
i might have 😆 but can't remember
I want to know who painted them. Or is that a natural egg patern?
Now I'm curious 🧐😁
The same pattern appears on light bearing pipes, though mostly on those leading outside Last City and dumping waste water (crab fields and eden), which is… bothersome. We see simmilar patterns on some murals as well. Maybe whoever made those pipes decided to copy this seemingly natural pattern and used it on the pipes. What is meaning of those triangles is however still a mystery.
Hmm, it's possible they were taking inspiration from the pattern to decorate other things. Since they've lasted in that location for so long, I wonder if they are actually eggs carved out of rock and placed there by the lumberjack or someone as a kind of memorial.
The other things in hidden forest, except grass, is petrified/calcified, seemingly. Same phenomenon happens in real life too but in span of milions of years and not just 500. Though real life also does not have magic rain and living things and beings that calcify when their light is taken away, something this magic rain can do. The eggs could also be calcified at this point.
We have seen light motes making plants grow fast and healing animals. Maybe with enough time after permanently stopping this rain, the forest would eventually return to life and maybe those eggs as well.
Reason of me saying the hidden forest is made out of petrified trees - we have seen wood and wooden stuff in Sky, namingly nesting season items and the small stack of branches in forest garden from nesting quest. Those items have usual wooden color. Yes, one would argument wood can have different shades but no wood is gray. Especially when those big trees are of same shade and texture as the stone furnishings.
Some other argument could rise that petrified trees are still brown. This brown is not the color of the wood but the color of minerals that petrified those trees, most commonly quartz.
We dont know what minerals Sky kingdom has, there might be no quartz at all.
There is also the previously mentioned magic rain that could cause different chemical process than normal petrification.
Hard to tell why the eggs kept their color, maybe the rain does not react with calcium. Or maybe they are fresh eggs.
The original mask was said to be like a deer (eland would be a stretch because their horns do not match the design of the mask. Even if simplified, there are more species with similar horns that better match the shape aside from the straight and twisted appearance of eland).
*It was called a deer mask in Patch notes for update 0.9.3 for Sky.

The season of Radiance mask is different.
Don't mind Luca and know that you can theorise on things.
People can just say that they don't agree and move on. They dont have to engage nor shoot down other people's ideas.
Even if it were to have little to no reason. The Egyptian connotation has been a long standing theory that goes as far back as season of Prophecy, as far as I know being part of the server.
As much as I would love to explore Luca's comments, I'd rather not since it causes more problems than it is worth.
However, I don't appreciate seeing other users being told off from having lore discussions because they dont agree with them.
nope
the eggs have the double liner on them while the GW pipes have the primary standard on them
i know this seems like pedantry but trust me, the difference is noticeable
And I dont appreciate you constantly targeting me and telling people you will tell them more in DMs when they ask what happened. This creates pretty toxic situation where one cant be sure what are you saying behind people backs.
Find a different hobby.
Bringing this here because mods literally dont care seems like.
We ask you to not bring someone up in a backhanded way when responding to someone else. This alone creates a toxic environment in this server, which isn't what we all want. Please keep your personal matters to yourself and stop with calling people out just because you don't agree with their theories etc
Let's move on, remember, to be respectful to one another and do not escort to name calling anywhere in this server
Hope everyone is taking care well
If such behaviours show up again, quickly #contact-the-mods so mods can have more evidences
Since the Mega Bird shares their light with the land, light creatures, and sent us down to bring light back, would light creatures like Nine Colored Deer, Sky Kids, and Blue Bird be as special as the Mega Bird?
bye
You'll be missed, skybot
what i think is he is actually the dawn ember "the other ember" who fell from da sky, the elders were like hmm skykid, we raise you
those trials? resh/dawn ember, wait he also had another name before resh, i dnt remember
anyways he ws the first one to do all the trials, after tht elders were like, hmm, wow skykid, forest elder ws like, yo skykid, wnna harvest light?
nd they made those little light diamonds to harvest light in the forest factory (thats why the rain is poisoned coz big factory)
elders weren't necessarily skykids to later become elders, maybe, ur question makes sense
mannn the lore is soooo good, does anyone else believes that the dusk ember who is shown to be symbolic of sadness, end of hope later becomes the Hopeful Steward, it kinda make sense for them to be the same, like, UGHHH SO COOLL I LOVE THE LORE USGHSHSG
I mean, I know it's not official of the Dusk Ember being Stewart later BUUUUT I think she might be! I enjoy lore toooo

I liked how they did a soundtrack for the two embers
Yeah I am more curious about the elders , I want story of all elders like how they become elders 🤩
