STOP IT š
Ayin would uh... idk. He isnt really built for fighting ig.
Depends on whether Lamed went evil or not
lamed is an interesting character to me esp shown in TTE
shes complicit against violence while also uncharacteristically kind at peoples' most vulnerable
Maybe reshās mask and hood is to hide that he is cracked on his big bald egg head
I mean Alef did have cracks on his face. Maybe they grew?
It makes me wonder how much the Vault Elder really knew, and if they knew about the Shattering
he had the disease as the other people had due to excessive darkstone exposure
hes covering up his skin as a result, and given his insane power compared to the average person, it must have been really bad to get to that
Salmonella from being cracked
theyre quiet and relatively unreactive because, in my opinion, they did know
I mean Bro literally T-Poses in front of a giant darkstone icosahedron. No wonder he got infected. Hes probably examining every darkstone gadget personally. Ooo, what does this one do?
not only that
DUDES MASK IS A HUNK OF DARKSTONE š
thats like walking around 24/7 in a TANNING BED
More like licking radium paintbrushes
Radium skincare. Remember when radium skincare existed?
I was gonna mention that after my cooldown ended lmao. The face creams and all
reshs mask is the LED red light therapy mask
gets rid of his wrinkles š you cant have wrinkles if your face is melting off
I wonder what Teth, Daleth, and Ayin's face accessories are made of. They can protect you from losing your light.
Very off topic but radiation themed. Walmart has cesium tainted shrimp
How.
How do you get cesium on SHRIMP
no way they got krills at walmart
Fr fr they do
They were experimenting to create dark dragons.
exactly
Its a secret. Theyre planning it. SkyĆWalmart. Light Milk, Daleth Eggs, etc.
Two embers part 2 only can be watched on their demo display tvās
season of moments camera is just the walmart photo printing center
[INSERT BATMAN SAYING INTERESTING]
Very inch restingā¦.
Anyways sorry for that distraction lol. Dark stone wearables
Beaned š
Are they the only one who wears dark stone? Any other elders or spirits?
There are darkstone accessories used, like the camera, breathing mask, and electric guitar
well we do get accessories from spirits that wear darkstone
the praying spirit and the deep bow spirit i think
right and other accessories
yeah acolyte mb
Do the other elder's headresses/face accesories count? What are they made of?
Well there goes my theory of one elder being inside the council of elders and betraying them by bringing the darkness attacks in
i doubt anyone intentionally wanted darkness to come in, that is some seriously bad leadership
this thing was just one whoopsie turned into a ginormous nightmare
Not to get like. Political but. Look at the leadership we have and have had in the past
true
though like other politicians i doubt Resh said "I'LL BE BRINGING DARKNESS INTO OUR WONDERFUL NATION WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT, #GODBLESSTHEKINGDOM"
im pretty sure he promised prosperity and then everything was a massive downhill slope
its similar to what we see irl too
It all started when light was seen as a resource instead of something to be shared
exactly that
Sometimes bad guys think theyāre doing good when they really just destroy everything
oughhhhh the apologist in me is tingling.......................
if i may, could i redirect you to this message i sent https://discordapp.com/channels/575762611111592007/632004389137154048/1405661027986706483
And usually when something seems too good to be true, the side effects of it canāt be seen for a very long time, like how we got the hole in the ozone layer or global warming (tho weāve known of that for very long now)
So Iām not getting any answers in season event chat so Iāll ask here since weāre more vested imo. Iām in the first memory of this season and trying to take pictures of Eden, itās very hard to get my camera out, and then when I take a screenshot of the picture I take when I zoom in on Eden it is blacked out.
It forcibly closes my camera every time I get it open after just a few seconds
i think ask #questions-and-help since it seems like a tech issue
I do have some Eden pictures tho with the camera interface in the screenshot if anyone is curious
Itās rather detailed
The King doesn't want any pictures lol
I managed to fall below the map and surprisingly thereās invisible solid ground down where itās not water
Idk how much we are allowed to talk about oobs
Iām more than half way through passing under Eden
if I can I wanna see if they rendered the back side
Light sparkles have appeared ?
You're more than welcome to discuss oobs in the server. However this channel might not be best place since a lot of stuff you see in oobs might be unused assets that aren't meant to be canon or part of the lore.
Thank you for clarification
Dāaw, I wanted death bath to be canon
When you walk on top of the body bags in the last memory blue feathers or crystal shards get kicked up off of themā¦
Oh bruhā¦
Why would you step over dead bodies...
The blue dust is happening everytime you go over ledge or unevern terrain, it looks blue because of the lighting.
Its a common particle effect present in whole game, nothing to do with lore at all.
That video doesnāt play for me. And tbh I didnāt realize I was on the bodies at first I was looking for oob points but thereās nothing interesting in oob there
The video not playing is Discord issue on your end.
I figured. I did try restarting the app
spirits with shards on their bodies is still lore.
The dust kicking up is a common detail in the game.
It is odd seeing the dust looking so blue in that area.
I have not been very active in recent seasons, though still know that dust particles can show up and it is a nice little detail in the game.
OOB areas like the elder scenes, the rainbow bridge and some odd occurrences in the past have been discussed here before.
The channel may be about lore, however the lore is open to interpretation. That open ended ambiguity can leave space for people to speculate and explore things like that.
The more iconic OOB areas for example are the all elder scenes where one can see the sizes of the elders has been notable in past discussions. As is getting close ups of the leviathan creature in season of Abyss.
Can anyone explain to me what the child was intending to do after giving up revenge at the end of part 1?
It may be open to speculation. My best guess it might be related to the outcome hinted at in season of Shattering (thinking about the two winged light kids hugging in the void with the elders and eden crystal exploding)
Ah. So. Part 1's story is the child helping the manatee, adopting it, seeing the town be further swallowed by darkness, losing the manatee, trying to get revenge, and then deciding not to get revenge. Did I understand this correctly?
There wasn't some bigger plot that was being implied that I missed?
It is just a theory.
The lore is open to interpretation and while one can look at the game's evidence for a foundation for lore. The story as a whole is left open ended in places.
This is where people can try filling in their own interpretations.
That is why I say it is a guess. Because the season is not over yet, and part 2 (the other season) is not out yet (according to online searches, it is propused to be out in January 2027)
Thanks. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something obvious and important.
Iāll try to take a video later. Theyāre proper little shards and not just fine dust
It wouldn't be unreasonable to theorize the bodies are infected with darkness and therefore are turning to stone or crystalizing or whatever that thing is that happens. Sorry I don't know the terminology, but do you get what I'm saying?
Petrifying?
Petrifying. Like the bodies in the Eye of Eden.
The petrified bodies have blue crystals embedded. Perhaps when you walk on top of the bodies, pieces of those crystals are being nicked off to create the effect.
FINALLY GOT A GOOD IMAGE
Credits to the-aonuma-luca
Wait. Since when is Eden no longer just a diamond
I thought the memories was just a special look at it
Most people refer to both the castle and eye as Eye of Eden/Eden.
Eden is the Mountain.
Eye of Eden is the castle/diamond
Yeah but the last time I played it was featureless besides being a broken diamond
Kind of, I think it was implied in the vault scene that the child was able to ascend the manatee, because it turned yellow
Anyways Crystal dust when you trample the dead. I dislike mobile controls but I did my best
I think this is what's happening.
This is such an interesting detail you noticed, and it's thoughtful of the devs to bother to make it happen!
Little things like that is why I love Sky so much.
What're you guys thinking about what they were doing to the people infected with darkness?
LAMED SPOTTED š«µ
Either experimenting OR disposing of em in landfills or smth.
Burning them up would require flames. If they had flames, they'd use it to charge darkstones
First is august 2022 and second is Dec 2022, this is what Eden looked like.
I mentioned here that its an immunodeficiency disease, and i believe that the shards are fibroids caused by a deficiency of light to maintain the bodyās systems in the citizens since the environment was important to sustain their bodies
Since light is being increasingly taken from the environment by darkstone, theres less support to the body
Mind you i dont think the shards on the bodies themselves are actual darkstone, theyre just polyps
That makes sense!
I also have screenshots from one part of the aurora concert where I was all alone as a manta and Eden is like. Blank
I also think polyps grew on internal organs
Tumors probably grew in the brain, heart (thus heart attacks were probably a common symptom), lungs, etc
Skin is probably just one part
This was my first thought as well, but it's so dark and real of a concept, I wasn't sure they'd go there.
Ahahahah they would. Trust me

Also am sorry thereās not better pic of Eden this was so far before in game cameras
Though, either they sent them in vault first to manage those who needed care the most first as a way to not waste resources
Vault had doctors and researchers
Either that or some people could be opted into a case study to understand the disease since i doubt they fully understood it
Probably not a clinical trial, since the best medicine for the disease is death, though i did detail that they could do embolization (with what tho, i dont know)
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
take those links with a grain of salt that was before the rest of the chapters were shown, only ch 1 was showing at the time
I think polyps manifested on the skin most of the time. Internal Crystals must be rare due to the ancestor's light being on the inside. Maybe the concentrated light burnt away most of the internal polyps? But this would take away a bit of their light too.
Ancestors like skykids have their light on the inside, the difference 'tween them being that skykids have that hole in the center of their chest from where they can access their light to light candles, cast advanced spells etc.
Yeahhh i think polyps concentrated on areas where there was less light or were more delicate
The skin is the most vulnerable yet the largest organ, though polyps probably still grew inside but with less frequency
I dont want to make extreme irl comparisons but it almost reminds me of uhhhhhh⦠psoriasis?
That damn vault of knowledge music
But i think those are game mechanics
looks to me like regular kicking up dust but diff lighting
Idk it looks like crystal shards to me, theyāre different and angular. Go try it yourself maybe?
I did see crystal shards in the last video, but the lighting makes it hard to discern them from regular dust here
I will⦠if the game didnt lag for me in that area
atrocious lag istg
It looks like shards to me, but it is subtle enough that I'm not confident
Pretty sure the Tender Toymaker had an internal growth. They were quite weak. Even the Resourceful Recluse was stronger than them. Probably in the lungs, coughed a lot.
I still wonder how the Recluse didn't get infected. Did he routinely go into the secret tunnel to get exposed to motes?
Is this better? If itās too shaky due to thunder Iāll retry
I can see them. Zooming in helps
It's for science
I can kinda see it but hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Zoom in and you can clearly see blue shards and white dust.
Also the poor caterpillar in the bg needing relit while I make people wine
I'm on my way there, myself. I wanna see if I can tell better on my own screen
Like what š oh beanedā
Knife + crystal. = crystal gone + wound
BEANED
If I had polyps I would just pick them off I am such a picker
SAME oh my god
I would buy 10000000 hydrocolloid patches for them
Newborns get baby acne and I soooo badly wanted to pick at my daughters face but I knew it didnāt bug her at all so I didnāt but OH I wanted to squeeze
I dont have kids but i had crazy eczema (or i dont think it was eczema i think it was just redness) as a baby
rn whenever i get a pimple i have to RESTRAIN myself from PICKING
I love patches for that reason
I think we're headed to gore-y territory that we probably shouldn't go
My eczema was on my leg and knuckles so it looked like I always fought people or punched walls since theyād split with the slightest flex but then one day in middle school it just went away when I stopped using products weirdly enough
Sure lets backtrack
Though a lot of topics in the lore itself can get unsettling
Tbf though, what else could these folks do with their polyps except ignore them
its a terrible disease to have
There is something else they could do.
Lv. 6
Yo thats wild
Poor Daleth. Got demoted to guide
(Found this from soysaucepastry)
Sorry for the quality, but at least it's something
It could be because itās an uneven surface or just an unintended side effect of coding fabric to make such an effect and the fabric tents also doing the same thing unintentionally. At this point dev input would be needed
I think I'll headcanon it's the crystals until further notice
Same here
So Daleth was the first Ancestor??
No?
All the elders descended together iirc. But im pretty sure Daleth acted like the oldest and had a mentor position.
For some reason, every time I see the Isle Elder in Orbit, I am creeped out. His eyes seem to bore into me. I just run as fast as I can. He just... looks at me
Thats all of them
The lighting does not do them justice sometimes š
I will say though Teth looks so gentle but one part of her hair sticks out in the back for some reason
What is this tunnel in aviary next to the guy at the boat who says event starts in 11 days
Can we get an image?
Through here. Itās got ghost kids
Isnt that the tunnel to the duets guide's place? The concert thingy underground?
Since it got ghost kids without the anniverdary event, has to be the boat the leads into the duets guide's place
Iām not sure
Oh I saw a code on my switch that had āspawning_radience_ā and the last two words I didnāt catch
Thereās just four boats out in the water if you oob out with white candles already lit in them
Yeah, that's the boat to the concert hall
The candles are made of stone??? I took a better look and they are NOT white. Theyāre stone and textured
What candles are you talking about?
The bottle-like stones you can light on fire? Those are fireworks
Why is this spirit always looking through this window?
Theyre silly like that (ive got no clue sorry)
Theres a tiny crab. Look closely
OMG. THERE IS. THANK YOU. THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
Zoomed in
Sorry for being lazy and taking a pic of my switch but the candles in the boats on the water if you oob out
Also thereās a bright light under water causing lense flair
Probably a bug šŖ²
Thats because those boats serve as chat benches and this makes it work.
Yes, it is a bit weird. It is both laty and clever. Instead of making whole new chatting point from scratch, TGC copypasted the chatting bench and modeled a boat over it and then moved the event trigger point for chatting from top of that bench to top of seat on the boat.
This is what Stoat meant by unused assets in OOB that are not related to the lore.
Ahh so thatās why everything inside is able to be sat at?
Can you be more direct, it is 2 am
In this concert hall for duets thereās so many seats, and while you canāt sit on the boats you think those are the āpowerā for the seats to sit and talk at in the duets hall?
Eh, no. Those are separate modelled tables. Their prototype used to be in OOB before concert hall was a thing. They are also way too small to hide entire chat bench inside.
There was lot of interesting stuff in Aviary OOB prior to radiance, I miss that.
Good sneep
Do Sky Kids dream of Flying Mantas?

(sorry for cold ping)
the devs said lamed's 'hair' is a hijab
and in order to be respectful, we shouldn't call it 'egg'
pure light!
more light protects you from harm, the same way that a many-winged skykid is hard to kill in eden.
I asked this question a while back, and Tomte has a good answer.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I've had Mantas fly around me and my face whenever I fly with them in Sanctuary š
I was just wondering what type of headpieces those guys had, and this makes sense
We dont know the extent of their headpieces abilities, and Lamedās headpiece is not shown for collection, so pure light makes sense
I think Lamed and Resh are the only ones with darkstone on their headpieces/masks, though Teth has it embedded on each of her palms
Or those could be gloves!
Or darkness disease also got to her (to think that even an elder, with an abundance of light, can succumb to the sicknessā¦)
.
Also, Iām pretty sure that elder masks that we buy are different from the ones that they wore during their lifetime
The protective masks are a 2D projection (made of pure light) modeled after their OG masks (made of physical material).

What if Lamed secretly had the disease the whole time in two embers too ā¦.
i have something to share, but i'm typing up a text wall...
i think i'll post it, but probably in document form
Please do
Oh my did someone ping me with something and then get beaned
i was trying to post the doc
i think something in the link is causing the bean-ing
Iāll have to say that tomorrow is when my semester of college begins
I probably wont be as active here as I usually am, but Iāll still come in once in a while with wack ideas
Wish me luck
in fact, the things I learn could be useful lorewise too, who knows
good luck on your first day of school!
Oh good luck with college! ^^
Its my not my first year so im not scared
In fact all i dread is the commute
Two Embers mayāve brought entirely new meanings to the colors blue and yellow in Sky.
What was originally thought to be a simple distinction between āunascendedā and āascendedā, now carry meanings of ālongingā and āletting goā.
Here, I present: The New Sky Color Theory. Feedback appreciated!

Edit: AHA! It was the link that got me beaned!
Had to repost in a different document to get a different link...
the source is from #news, for those unaware
Hello. Please credit the source. That collage comes from my blog.
@viral marlin No, it is just dust particles, there is no deeper lore behind that.
Here is video of me walking over fabric in Wasteland temple during fourth quest VS me walking over fabric in Aviary Dye Workshop with Vault lighting set on. The same lighting that makes the blue hue during fourth quest, because the door to vault is open.
Sorry. I'll do it.
Oh.
Interesting checking out the The Two Embers Part 1 trailer now on YouTube, there's a few things that had been changed since
One being we have the manatee following the player around seen in the first quest in trailer, while in game the manatee doesn't follow us until third quest to avoid sentries. Interesting to see the changes
another thing is the ending scene to the trailer which is this scene:
At first I thought perhaps this could be a glimpse to what we might get in the final quest for the vault memory, however biggest thing to contradict being not the case is that we do see this as one of the scenery cinema parts that plays, so this could just be put on for a show at the end of the trailer rather than be part of the quest itself, but interesting to put that here regardless even if we will not see this scene
Given the vault sequence in chapter 4, maybe the ending scene in the trailer is hinting at that?
That we get to see vault in the show? With it being all magical?
Edit: every seasonal trailer ends like this, as per Luca
I think thats just clevelry cut of the manatee chase part of quest one, instead of running after the manatee, the skid was running in front of it to make it look liek the manatee is following.
The manta projector part is present at the end of every season trailer.
ah didn't know that, I saw all trailers through #news and never through youtube - only saw this trailer through someone posting a youtube trailer link on discord
pretty sure the manatee in the quest flies the opposite direction, like it flies towards the the marketplace entrance then around, while in trailer it's going the opposite
we also see it flying around the player a scene after where Tender Toymaker is, so the manatee does appear more to be following the player in trailer
It actually does rounds so you can just stand on one spot and wait for it to catch itself.
oh yea guess that's true
ah yeah I remembered quest, it follows you after you pick up the toy. Short term memory go brrr ahahahg
ah well here goes my inspection of the trailer difference
although, the biggest difference is that the scene where the krill enters the GW temple in game is not seen in trailer, instead it's just red
sorry for the late ping.
The screenshot may have supposedly been taken by luca, however the true source would be the video they took the screenshot of.
You are fine either way, I find it a bit ridiculous to ask someone to credit them for a screenshot they took from a video, and the video came from TGC themselves.
I frankly dont care what their issue is about the image credit. You sharing an image of the elder on a public forum does not require credit. Especially when it is not a matter of you taking credit for the image, nor are you posting a thesis or document.
People who do that are doing so by choice. And if asked, they can happily provide the link where they got it.
Outright demanding credit for a screenshot one has taken of a video and said video is from TGC is wild.
Please don't let that user push you around like that.
Sharpening and slight color balance was applied on the collage to make sure it is still recognizebale what is going on after Tumblr destroys the quality. There were edits made on that collage, its is not "just a screenshot". Asking for a credit is not a bad thing as per this message by alexdolly #questions-and-help message
With all regards please mind your own bussiness.
Also keep in mind that the Two Embers episode in a quality similar to one Luca shares isn't easily available (say, on platforms like YouTube etc where you can just screenshot). Currently the two embers content beyond the trailers are only available in the in game cinema so the painstaking editing is involved for those crisp screenshots or video edits. Therefore it's only respectful to credit or do it when kindly asked
TGC can and frankly should post it somewhere for people to view it.
Watching it in the game is sadly does not do the animation justice.
People who take the time to capture, edit and upload the image get the views the TGC could have gained for their hard work.
The message linked is in regards to a guide. Likely referencing the Infographic group who has made extensive edits to creating guides to quests, seasons and even some lore.
Enhancing an image from the animation is not the same.
Feel free to complain when someone shares an image they see about the animation project.
One does not have control over where and who gets to see, save, or even use images online.
Don't like it. Put a watermark or credit text on it.
While at it, please do add credit to the image you have used.
||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScqZDNWMP5c&t=910s||
Just to prove the point.
This user is able to present a good quality image of the vault elder (credit included)
A screenshot with enhancements does not require credit. At least not to the same degree as a user like this one, let alone the original creator that is ThatGameCompany.
I care more about the lore than someone crying over something like this.
The community could use less toxicity.
The lore channel included
This user recorded whole chapter which is aganist Terms of Service. https://thatgamecompany.helpshift.com/hc/en/17-sky-children-of-the-light/faq/1406-the-two-embers---part-1-social-media-content-sharing-guidelines/
Than you for including their channel name so they could get reported.
It's not toxicity to ask for a kind and respectful credit for someone's effort, especially the documentary WHILE respecting the TOS and content guidelines
Your image is included.
i hate to be that guy, but the sky community is literally one of the nicest online video game communities out there
i'd say it should be other communities that should learn from sky
Also @nimble ingot kindly move on from this topic. It's been mentioned and supported by a mod that crediting someone's work is appreciated.
Also Luca's image DOES NOT break the guidelines, which stipulated that any videos being recorded without any edits or more than 30s is not allowed
Screenshots are fine.
Only video recordings over 30 seconds are not allowed.
It should be.
And yet luca wants to report someone for posting a video, and yet forgets their own image would be part of the 'problem' they want to report.
??? We've said that Luca's images does not, in any way, break the TGC rules
Theoretically, someone can screenshot every frame of the movie and upload it, and it'll still abide by the copyright laws
That is silly.
A series of videos of the entire series by several users would have the same outcome as one video that is not even monetised.
I'm not making this stuff up.
This is TGC's official guidelines.
Let's move on and remember, the guidelines are in place for a reason, mainly due to the copyright laws
Fair enough.
I said my piece and Luca can be upset as much as they are making me upset.
Everybody loses, lets move on.
We ask you to stop with this topic as we'd like to focus with lore, or we will #contact-the-mods immediately
-
Comes to cause drama over basically nothing.
-
Victim blaming.

"Be upset like I am upset.!

Leaves.
??????
Anyways so far theatrical releases for two embers are in Japan, Korea, China and LA
Praying for one in my country xD
Uh... I did add credit earlier after you informed me. Did I do something else wrong?
Don't worry you did the right thing. It's simply someone feeling upset that you are asked to credit ^^" all in all nothing you do was wrong
No, you good. Ignore that person, they emerge every often just to be negative and leave again when no one is buying that.
China is getting it?
I would go watch, but my school year is starting...
Afaik it was in some cities? I don't remember the name xD but I'm sure there's some, even with offline sky event in conjuction with that
:(
Offline sky event is in Guangzhou
It's a couple of hours from where I live
How about today daily quest? The flight guide asked our help to go to temple entrance. Like some information said, flight guide is ayin's mentee, and here, they are seen looking above the temple entrance like reminiscing something. This is so cute considering their mentor-mentee relationship
Also, when resh meets daleth lol/jk
I definitely did not read that she is Ayins manatee
@river veldt ohhh!! I don't know obviously I can't read Chinese that well if they're still running there but try to check šš
this daily reminded me exactly like Nesting Guide's quest where Nesting Guide stares at the forest seemingly in thought for Forest Elder, got the same here with Flight Guide possibly doing the same but with Prairie Elder
Quit doing that, please.
I thought that we are supposed to move on from that topic.
I think i've seen that piece of informations somewhere, perhaps on some old tgc livestream?
I remembered it was in flight seasonal spirit trivia thingy but well I wasn't in sky at that time so xD
Im praing it will be atleast in some big European city close to me, Paris is way too far but Berlin is acceptable
Highly doubt my country gets it.
Iza
Manatee
I read manatee instead of mentee
Same š manatee
Ahh, i remember! It is said on their personality on wiki!
On October 1 2021, TGC officially announced and introduced the Flight Guide with the following personality traits:
š Has a better vision of a more harmonious life
š¬ļø Guided the spirit group to the Islands
š§āš Former apprentice of Daylight Prairie Elder
š„° Tells the best stories
And that she is student of Ayin is in- yeah there
small difference, a student is someone who usually pays or pursues more knowledge.
An apprentice is someone is given practical training. And they are usually paid while learning.
Does nesting guide also have a personality trait list where it was said that they were a former student of the Forest Elder? I didn't play at that time, so I would've missed that.
I had to quickly run to get a camera and snap photo of her because she looks so magical.
Can't wait to log in and do the quest
On April 12, 2024, TGC officially announced and introduced the Nesting Guide with the following personality traits:
šTheir motto: "Measure twenty times, cut once"
šGets some of their best ideas while hiking
š¤«Secretly still loves making blanket forts
š¤Hopes to have an apprentice someday
credit: sky wiki
Afaik there wasn't, but the hints are there? I barely remember nesting as much xD
it's one of the paintings that you can find in the nesting workshop!
(one that you can get, too)
SORRY FOR PING
We have that one photo of nesting guide with forest elder + nesting guide takes us to the forest garden in last quest, so some connection is definitely there.
(when nesting spirits(?) comes back ofc)
They've always been here.
It's fine, I think my music just drowns all pings so I can't hear it. Just remember it next time.
probably in 2026/2027
newer seasons take forever to return now; usually 2+ years
what spirits, lol.
Season of furniture update /j
I meant by the framed picture, it's in the workshop yes but to obtain it, you must wait for a travelling spirit
I get too enthusiastic to reply sometimes

Ah, so it isn't explicitly said unlike Flight Guide. Gotcha.
I mean... they asked for opinions on furniture dyeing so maybe we get group visit when that comes to game? Though it cant yet because atleast one spirit from season before nesting (9cd iirc?) has to visit and current main roadblock are the revival manequins.
Very subtle indeed
9cd yes! It's before nesting
Oh yeah, the manequins are not just main roadblock, they are THE roadblock, because we got moments TS already and revival is after moments.
Forest and Prairie having apprentices, would be super cool to see if the other elders had any confirmed apprentices too in the future
Popular theory is that Alef had Isle elder as teacher.
would be cool to have that confirmed when we see part 2
OMG, just realised we'll be getting a personality trait of Dawn Ember when the time comes in 2027
would we get a personality trait for vault lantern /j
I wonder if we get Alef and Resh introductions separately
Like yeah, they are the same person as confirmed by Jenova but they technically also are not entirely the same person if you get what I mean.
plus if Dusk Ember is Stew then we also have two introductions for one person
if vault elder makes an appearance in the final quest, would we get a personality trait for them?
YES PLS
Yeah, that'd be extremely interesting
from my guess, perhaps the sheet would be similar to the one we got for Dusk Ember and their manatee where it would show Dawn Ember and The Ruler side by side telling their personality trait as a child while the other as an adult/ruler
In that case, for pt 2, we can get all elders
(Gmorning, 6 am here)
it's very interesting that TTE part 1 depicts two protagonists as a duo bc we could warm up to their dynamics. I wonder if Dawn would get a companion or sorts
i'm pretty sure this is outright confirmed
in one of the storyboards that TGC gave us ('the ferryman' is daleth)
would be interesting to see - so far we haven't seen them with anything yet
Next up, we want to introduce you to special guest of this season, the Vault elder!
š Tired of dealing with emotionally driven higher ups.
š§¶ Knows how to knit and would rather be doing that than their duites.
š Cant have bad hair day when no one sees your hair.
šæ Likes to watch the drama unfolds while secretly documenting it.
4th part is bruta;
LMAO this is great
good morning, ayn
Shes like me fr I pull out my phone to record drama sometimes /j
She has secret drawer full of darkstone recordings of other elders to pull it up when she needs to have a point
I love how vault elder's mask makes them look unintentionally fed up and tired, making it fit perfectly in part 1's setting
The mask does not do them any favors im sorry she looks so mad šāļø
considering the state of the kingdom, who wouldnt be š
True (also hello Neko
)
both forest and vault elder look fed up, vault especially
Forest elders mask looks cool it looks like she has built in eyeliner lmao
respectfully i know hijabis that would relate with 3rd point lmaooo xD though styling hijabs takes as much time as styling your hair though
that makes me wonder, vault elder would theoretically know how to make a candle just like Dawn and Dusk because they could just invade the ruler's memories and figure it out [and dusk's too of course]
naw
tsadi is easily the angriest elder
for whatever it is worth mentioning.
The vault elder is the first to show in the animation them using an equipped items powered by darkstone.
This may be what every elder has in their own way.
It would be interesting to see if the other elders relied on darkstone tech to enhance their abilities, if not rely on them to have these powerful abilities to begin with.
Sky is known to have some form of magic in the world. And the forces of light and darkness are powerful energy sources to tap into.
That is, aside from the Eden elder (the king) that uses a massive crystal.
However, I am focusing on items they wear, not a massive crystal they tap into for power..
GW wears a helmet, but no mask underneath so it doesn't make them look angry like vault does
temper wise, GW probably wins that
I vaguely remember it was said somewhere that everyone knew how to make candles in the past and there are candles on top of vault floor, so someone had to make them. Though maybe that someone was Resh, one answer on Q&A wall of recent Sky exhibitions says that both embers know how to make candles.
From what I've heard, the Middle Eastern standard of beauty is in the hair!
Even though hijabis cover it up and no one would see it, they would still devote time to take good care of their hair
ohh that's super neat! Also makes sense that you'd want to protect your hair from all sorts of weather like the sun
okay its now time for me to drive ill catch yall soon, the jokes were funny as always
Take care yall
Dawn had the candlemaker spirits.
This implies the ancestors knew about candle making for a very long time. If not from the start of their journey through the realms.
yep I remember hearing Dawn Ember/The Ruler knows how to make candles
I wonder why they decided to make it specifically for there
during the fire era, everyone probably knew how to make candles. it's necessary for illumination, after all.
but, as dark stones took over, the traditional art of candlemaking is slowly lost...
I think almost every elder has some sort of dark stone/glowy white thing on the middle of their masks [+GW elder has one in their spear], I think the only elder's who are not seen with any is Valley
I can imagine GW's having theirs for strength
little support to that is that Golden Wasteland has the least candles in its realm too! Most of the light you collect are from dark plants
"Young lad! You cant become a king if you cant replicate the techniques of your ancestors! I wont let you through that door until you show me 10 candles made by your hands!"
"Okay granny..."
Maybe their prosthetic limbs are made of darkstone
The Ruler proceeds to make candles appear from the air skykid style
Those watching:
Twins have glowing bats.
WITCH. BURN HIM AT THE STAKE
actually...
the elders' clothes also light up when we give them our flame
does that mean, their clothes are lined with dark stone too!?
Alef: Uhh granny, it isn't exactly a candle... But i made this instead! shows darkstone
Lamed: Fascinating... But you still failed! Learn how to make candle properly!
Alef: augh....
they need to turn down the emissive on their giant sticks, where are they hiding those darkstone
Teth (during dinner): Whoops, oh man my hollow hands, I keep dropping things. proceeds to throw yet another darkstone to Alef under the table
one little detail I like about the elders is that they all have this arrow diamond symbol thing in the middle of their chests just like default sky kid clothes do [it is hard to see it, but it is there
]
lamed cape's star patterns are like that, too!
(will get a pic later. i'm at grandma's)
The elders lighting up is just like skids getting their colors back from recharging after losing their light. Elders not only glow up but their clothes also change color, aka they get their color back thanks to them having their light back.
Also Stew has the diamond symbol on their chest too, it is just suuuper faint and not always visible. I have chapter related to that in upcoming thesis, just waiting til llast two quests come out in case something drastically changes.
Ive always noticed that but brushed it off as a bug or smth.
stewie is probably wearing the default (moth) clothes
and that symbol is on the moth clothes
Hopeful Steward is wearing the default clothing so they are a great example of seeing this pattern on them without the chest glow in the way
something I find interesting about this default clothing is that almost/every ancestor child we see wearing it are all completely white while Hopeful Steward's is not
Unfortunately many apprenticeships are not paid, at least in the US thatās the case š
The vault ultimate cape, which we can assume is ceremonial robe of Vault elder, also has those symbols on.
that all points to stewie being a proto-skykid
their model is very close to the skykid model
(there are other children, too, like Confident Sightseer's kid, Boogie Kid, Pleading Child, the Assembly scouts, the Passage students, etc.
but Stewie's model is the closest to the skykid model, IIRC)
Do we know or suspect why the name change happened? Is one just a kings name as monarchs often get new names? I canāt assume itās gonna be related to an ego death theme (tho the game is surprisingly dark once you get even slightly below the surface and cute design)
Theres more about their outfit than that but you have to wait until I publish the analysis.
it is pretty much is a skykid model but with the spirit starry affects put over it
Those are names from concept art and are no longer canon, lorechat just often uses them because it is shorter to type and also more "personal" and "alive" than titles. Alef was concept art name for a prince and resh was concept art name for the king.
the names themselves were placeholders, as with the elders in general.
As for why there are a prince and a King.
There is likely more to the story that TGC had been working on that involved these characters.
It is fair to speculate that they had a story in mind, but wanted to explore and polish on these ideas before introducing them to the game.
Ahh, am still pretty new to lore chat and keep forgetting the names used arenāt their real names
to be fair, names like Tsadi are certainly less wordy than wasteland elder
I usually stick to the in game elder names, because I know sometimes it can create confusion and people more easier to catch on who I'm referring to that way
here!
Tsadiland elder
Though aftr what we seen in the movie its more like Reshland now.
I hate how Reshland gen sounds like amusement park name
Welcome to Reshland, we got:
⢠Darkstone See Saws
⢠Darkstone Swings
⢠Darkstone etc. Etc.
"I wonder why my children got infected with darkstone"
Soon to come
⢠Shards falling from the sky
⢠The collapse of civilization
"Whoa! So many innovations! King Resh is great!"
We even got restaurants that serve lovely dishes such as:
- darkstone pasta
- darkstone soup
- shard candy
- reshcicles
- fried resh
- this pizza i stole from tgc's office
and more!!!

Followed by a ||plague of bugs (moths)||
Please keep your arms and legs inside bounds at all times. Park is not responsible for injuries or loss that occur out of bounds
Donāt forget boiled crabs. Crabs on a stick is no longer offered.
Shards the sky version of asbestos.
Itās in your schools, itās in your house, itās on your holiday tree
Food tastes so bland without darkstone
What do you think itās flavored like or is it just our regular seasoning rock?
Skids favorite game - whack a mole krill
Oh we can add crab tipping as part of the honking zoo
the BLUE pizza from the office?
Yep! Yummy!
Does anyone remember the colorful pizza and ketchups from like 2005-2010?
Crayola pop art pizza I think
You guys think he and steward in the same timeline?
Whosat?
Warrior of Love?
Seed of Hope?
The other guys?
seed of hope, from aurora.
His quest literally help the survivals outside the temple. WHich is the same time with steward in the it, right?
okay ive updated my sky lore blog with all the information i could find, i'll put it here since it will probably be of interest to the people who frequent this channel

if you notice anything you think ive gotten wrong, constructive criticism and new theories are always welcome! hopefully yall enjoy it
Arent we told to "Beware the Ancient Trials"?
Can someone tell me, or tell me where to find, the story of what I see when I climb out the window of the Valley of Triumph temple ? It's obviously a variation on some of the things in the valley. But why does it exist ? It's a long time since I started playing the game, so I've forgotten my first time there, but is this a 'set' for something dramatic I've already seen ?
Also, why isn't everyone going wild about the Two Embers tale ? There's very little lore of Sky in Sky. All you can really tell is that it used to be one big land and something terrible happened to split it apart. We're given 500 -year-old-lore and ⦠nothing. Nobody seizes on it.
The entire Lore chat here, has been Wilding about the two embers
There is a lot of lore, but itās mostly being told through
- environmental storytelling
- spirit memories
- artbook, concept art, dev interviews, etc.
- light awaits/beta content
Two Embers basically confirms most of the long standing theories, or add more into the existing lore
If you have all the time to dig through the backlogs, you'll see many of us writing essays about 2E
i need to revisit seed of hope from the aurora concert
did ancestors even war against each other???
at some point yes, I don't think what was happening in 2E part 1 was a one time disaster, there might had been some chaos and clashes prior to that, or maybe within the battlefield when the soldiers split into factions and infight within themselves during the events of chapter 4 outside the temple? š¤
I only believe it to be after the two embers because there is a krill seen flying around in seed of hope's memory besides one of the towers - while in show everything was still built up/still safe kepping krills away at that point so couldn't be before then
Then my second theory is more likely
Wait hold up in a scene when stewie was walking towards to the temple in chapter 3, everything outside the temple is already flattened and in ruins, we did see a tower collapsing
yeee, in seed of hope's memories the they are seen hiding/injured besides the tower on the left as a krill appears from behind that tower
it looked like they used the crumbled building we see Vault in as a safety area
Reshās palace has 8 prongs, resembling the symbol of light

Bro wanted to mimic the sun
the ruler should've took inspiration from the dark symbol, like the dark symbol used for black dye
Also octagon in Eastern cultures tend to symbolise positive aspects like good luck, abundance well as long life. Especially how number 8 is considered a lucky number in Chinese
the ruler must be disappointed to see that number not be on their side watching everything go wrong bawhahahah
Why did I type ambulance I need to sleep
Tbh I see it as the ruler using this symbolism as a way to convey that they are "the saviour", sort of a facade
The entire chapter 3 was those 3 personality traits in nutshell:
And chapter 4 too of course.
oh the irony of the ruler being a prophecy child hahaha
Thing about Aurora spirits is, that rather than each of them being one singular person, they are rather manifestation of other people memories, dreams and wishes. Thats also why they are the only seasonal spirits without mask on.
Every other seasonal spirits is about certain people and they have masks.
You mean the copy of colliseum where elder cutscene plays? Every elder is located somewhere on the map just like other event assets that activate (and teleport you to if needed) when certain conditions are met.
his mask is also the symbol of light
bro is literally trying to be god

so fancy

Nvm then
I dont understand sorry.
There are people who greatly appreciate the detail and lore from the animation.
I love it, but am dissapointed in its delivery by TGC.
I'd rather wait another 5 years for people to freely discuss the lore as a whole than debate over scraps.
It is underwhelming to get excited at watching a film projected on a screen, while watching through your device's screen.
It is also criminal to have the entire animation chopped up into bits for people to pick apart in the past few days.
This is just 1 opinion and it may vary from people who are excited about the cosmetics, traveling spirits, or lore people have already learned about.
are you talking about the towers outside of the valley temple?
Or the OOB valley coliseum you can access from the Valley temple interior?
Woahhh?????

The coliseum, and a few buildings that surround it. I got my answer. Thanks, everyone.
Ngl i think i should make a lore blog, but mainly on the medicine/physiology of the creatures (elders/Resh included)
What was Golden Wasteland called BEFORE it became a wasteland? Or was it always just a wasteland and the GW Elder just got the bad end of the stick /j
My take on what GW name could be is something along the lines of The Golden City or maybe Golden Fortress.. something with gold in the name since the golden wasteland isnāt exactly yellow, but more so a greenish color for us now, so it makes me wonder what it looked like in its prime..
Feel free to ask anything OOB related again, I OOB frequently and can explain couple of weird things located under the map/elsewhere
Iirc, the 7 days of Sky called it Golden Valley.
Ohh I had no idea! Thatās interesting
'Golden' is a strange name. I notice that in the end of the fourth mission of 2E, that's where you end up: in the temple at the end of the Golden Wasteland. Having walked there from the market place. So the Goldern Wasteland, 500 years ago, was that village around the market place. And it doesn't look golden back there. Perhaps it's just called golden because the palace is there.
Yes, Golden Valley.
rlly solidifies the fact that valley of triumph is part of GW
Yes, it even shares same architecture with Valley and Eden.
also the fact that the athletes are built like soldiers /j
The little marketplace on what we know as battlefield now is just refugee camp. Golden Wasteland 500 years ago is canonically called Last City.
either that or just the Ruler's City š
Found the official post in case someone comes here and says it is just wiki description: https://x.com/thatskygame/status/1283925635560161280
Wish those two locations made it to the game, it is such a blessing for the eye, I would absolutelly love running around those streets.
Journey has something simmilar to the first one and running through there feels great.
It is also located where Valley would be on the storyline.
There are also couple of nearly identical buildings to those in valley.
this is a theme on my canvas dashboard
but yeah several references to journey are made in sky, i noticed a lot of things from isle and valley come from journey inspo
It is such a beautiful part of the game, its just one long stretch of this golden scenery before you slide down to darkness of "wasteland".
The only thing Journey has and Sky lacks is not enough indoors. Outside the aviary facilities and temples, the only true indoor thing is the palace in Crescent Oasis. They did not make the insides of temples actually "temple sized" and it is shame, there could so much more lore and exploration objectives put in.
won't put the art piece here since it doesn't 100% fit, but will link it here: #sky-fanart-sketches-and-art-chat message
seen a lot of people who seen the bonus scene with Dawn Ember think they're living somewhere else and they're going to travel over to eden and team up with Dusk Ember to take down The Ruler, completely unaware what they're about to see unfold when part 2 comes out
I think it means they'll have an apprentice of their own, which is probably either the player or the Hopeful Steward
Well, I think Seed of Hope's story happened a while earlier than Steward's, since I think there was a civil war long before the Two Embers
That's interesting! Yeah it's probably a bit before Stewie/Dusk Ember
Edit: Maybe the Last City is the last line of defense or recovering from the war?
What do y'all think the chances are for Resh to be the season guide for part 2?
it might just be another lantern but it would be so cool
i really hope the guide is an actual person, and not an object
Yep, me too. I realized though that part 2 is also gonna be in the cinema so another lantern will probably be the guide. Rip.
any theories on the upcoming event thats dropping on the same day as the next two season quests or do we just think it's a late days of sunlight/days of style on time
I think an hour glass at least wouldāve been better than a cinema since we do go back and play in the world from 500 years ago
I thinks it's more the fact that we're watching back the events on the screen
Are elders a seperate race or are they like evolved ancestors, cause I wanna say that the scarred sentry is GW elder but I just can't prove it enough
Follow up, are we getting another chapter or was the last one it for part 1 (I've only played the quest line rn but I'll get round to the actual videos soon)
Yeah I get the want the Cinema for future events most likely too but man I just kinda want a bit of a proper time travel experience to the old world before the end
Im pretty sure tgc confirmed that the elders have always been elders.
Besides, the aviary mural depicts 6 elders falling from the sky.
(Samekh was counted as one for some reason)
I assumed that's why it's a vault memory lantern though is that it's supposed to be like, a huge memory of the past that we actually travel into through the lantern (as opposed to just watching them)
the fact it's in the cinema is kinda bleh but at least the cinema is in the Vault I guess..close enough
Itās in the vault but also in aviary so, ehhhh? It doesnāt feel like itās in the vault, and it doesnāt even feel like a cinema. Itās a mound of sand and water with a big square as soon as you step out. Thereās no little shop manned by a spirit like there is for the hot chocolate and tea/pastry bar in aviary. Thereās no seats, it doesnāt look like an ancient, Victorian classical, or a modern theater. It couldāve been so much better.
to be fair, the aviary entrance takes you through the vault area before getting to the cinema, but I get you. I do agree it would be cool it was more...themed like it belonged in the world, but I guess it's already strange to have a cinema in the world of Sky. but they could've had it like. look more like it's a part of vault, and maybe a memory lantern as a projector for the screen, I dunno. but whatever. it's why I'm kinda meh about the embers season guide lantern being in the cinema, cause the cinema feels like it's not a part of the Sky world, but the lantern fits a little more with the world lore than the cinema as a whole does. if this makes any sense.
if anything also, to me, it does at least feel like a drive-in theater (though I guess since it's Sky and no cars, it's just a fly-in theater. lol. but I assume this is more what they were going for was drive-in theater. though in that case, why the entrance area (foyer?) looking more like a modern movie theater hall? it's a bit a mix of stuff I guess)
Tbh though memories can be stored in lanterns so VEās lantern made sense to me
Let me go compare to it the darkstone camera cause it does look more like the camera than a lantern to me but Iāve not looked closely recently
Hmmm.. it is extremely similar to the camera more than the other lanterns imo. And since I think the quote goes roughly like āwe visit sky as it was 500 years agoā
Were there always words here ??
you are so funny!
Where
On her headpiece
There are white letters
More likely a separate race, GW Elder was along for various other things in the past (see cave of prophecies mural)
Indeed they are a different humanoid species of celestial being
The Sky cinema is frustrating, lore wise. I've heard of a better idea where instead, you went into a meditation room with Stewie, and then the quests had you going into their mind and replaying the memories.
THAT WOULD BE SICK
Ngl what if we had insight in a 1st person POV by the resh/alefās standpoint in part 2
ngl I personally like that vault elder's lantern is the one that brought us back to the past, it shows how much power an elder possessed, specifically vault; who could manifest the memory into a tangible physical environment, i find it much cooler than just peeking into stewie's memory straight up
Well, peering into memories is literally what Skykids do already, this would just be a more interactive form of it.
like as shown in the quests, you are not stewie, but playing a role similar to stewie but more like a citizen of the last city
we don't really interact the usual memories, we just watch and see the sequence, meanwhile we could freely explore the last city and ACTUALLY see the spirits as they were 500 years ago
On mask of vault elder
the ending for Q4 had an immense impact. You're brought back to the present and everyone was gone, except the lantern. A silent witness.
Yeah, I get that, but I think the quests can be reframed to be more associated with Stewie's journey, almost like companion pieces.
Quest 1 and 2 could mostly be the same.
Quest 3 could be changed to having Stewie gather their stuff and helping the stern shepherd corral their manatees, right as the storm is picking up.
Quest 4 could be stewie in the vault, spreading light to everyone.
If you want that final ending, you could have that same thing, with you and Stewie being brought to the present and looking silently.
Sorry, I guess this has become game design discussion spoilers, I'll stop now
Also peeking into Stews memory without their consent would be kinda messed up.
I think that:
Quest 1 - happens like 3 to 5 years prior the main movie stuff and we are just another child helping around while Stew is elsewhere. We dont see the second manatee in movie because it is so long ago.
Quest 2 - happens around half a year to one year (because of the sped up plant growing scene) prior to chapter 2, we are again not Stew, just fellow child helping. Both manatees grew up a bit according to that.
Quest 3 - Happening hand to hand with chapter 3 as we can find Stews manatee dead during the quest. Our own manatee is rather big at this time and though we might not be directly see it in movie, it could be one of those older manatees as game portrays all of them the same instead of with various markings.
Quest 4 - happens either when Stew is in vault or lot of time after.
It is also possible that the manatee we are friends with is manifestation from Vault elder to keep us company. That manatee doesnt really influence the memory too much so I can see her slipping that guy in.
I mean all other spirits in the game show is their memory willingly so I think they just want to be known and remembered and shared by someone
I dare to disagree they show it willingly, there are zero proofs of them giving us consent. We scavenge hunt their corpses basically.
And then we burn up their corpses and then divine their past from the ash cloud.
We burn the darkness plants on their spirit and then we burn the calcified shell of darkstones the same way Dusk Ember is clearing the stones from light creatures.
Can someone clarify ? What 'bonus scene' is being spoken about ? Is there a way, right now, to see something of the other ember ?
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
A very brief shot of the Dawn Ember has been added to⦠the 4th Chapter? Iirc?

In the theatrical release version
In person, and in game (the exclusive screening that took place after Sky Creator Awards)
You are all so cool!
Finally skybot being based
how do the abyss oxygen masks work?
in fact, why do they have a dark stone of all things?
Man, I gotta finish the abyss quests
They help give the user a bit more oxygen to last longer underwater.
The darkstone is assumingly used to provide air in some way (that or represent the power source the mask uses)
I think its the latter
I believe that the darkstone is somewhat of a battery since it probably runs on light from the external environment, yet somehow doesnt affect the person wearing it (even if they have light in their bodies)
maybe the light used from the environment and absorbed by the darkstone in the scuba mask is what fuels the cells with oxygen
idk
Sky kids are capable of staying underwater for prolonged periods as long as there's light source to draw light from (the glowing seaweeds)
Dark Stone is known for storing light. So I assume that we're using the light stored in the dark Stone to stay underwater longer
yeh pretty much
Now that I think about it. If i was in Sky, I would try to experiment with Dark Stone and make a Light Tank (like oxygen tank but it stores light instead) and we could use it to dive deeper in the abyss for hours.
||Warning: Multiple Leviathan class lifeforms detected in the region⦠are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?||
However, the ancestors also used those masks, right?
How does it work for them? Theyāre not light creatures.
Ingenius, yes!!!! And more proof that it is still our Light weāre trying to protect when underwater
I completely agree, the design implications of new-age use of Darkstone sounds really cool now. I hope people draw stuff about it
Well, we donāt know for certain that they needed oxygen, at least in the same way. They were all a diving expedition team after all, at least (in my ideas) post-Shattering. Thereās much debate on whether the events of Quests 4 and 5 of Abyss āhappenedā in the past, but even to get Darkstone in the flooded mines and temple, theyād need to go pretty deep. Perhaps drowning would harm their Light, killing them in the process. And obviously Ancestors couldnāt share and accept Light from light creatures, so they still would have to come back to the surface unlike us.

i have a lil conspiracy theory
see those inlets?
they're shaped like pots, so maybe they were also used for charging darkstone/artificial stars
there was some concept art with similar looking things making darkstone
but technicaly it's the shrine room to contact teth
||it kinda looks like she's showing off again with the mechnism like on the entrance door hihi||
Theres fully modelled insides that could propably store some mechanism.
At some point in the past, the inside of the platform where the shrine is stored. You used to be able to see the elder's hammer through the upper windows.
There is also concept art that suggests this place was similar to the destroyed factory in the Wasteland.
Knowing what we got from the Two Embers animation. It seems like the old theory that suggested the mantas we freed in this temple were indeed used to power the crystals.
The unfortunate part though further implies that the ancestors would sadly kill the mantas after draining their light.
This also makes me wonder if the mantas somehow absorb the darkstone minerals in the water and the earth as they migrate towards the top.
And if so, then the ancestors (or elders) have disrupted this cycle enough to cause the darkness to spread in response to the imbalance
Is there a screenshot? (Sorry for ping)
Donāt be sorry, at least to me!
I didnāt take one but I can look for who did

if i made a blog on the medical sciences of sky also as a supplemental way of studying the material I learn in class but ignore that in a lore blog would yall be interested
ive read that tying game lore into school subjects makes studying them much more enjoyable and i think loremoths could like it too, just lmk
alr bet ill be cooking something in some time

Not sure who may know of this old competition fans of the game once hosted.
It was a hogwarts style tournament where skykids competed with one another for points.
The challenges were themed after subjects or classes.
It was a ton of fun and definetly something skykids would have set up. If not the ancestors to give skykids something more engaging alongside the minigames from days of competition (I really hope TGC would polish things up this year. Because the idea is great, but the execution was a mess)
About this competition I mentioned that your sky classes reminds me of.
If you want, I can look up this old event video (if it still exists)
But here is the image of the houses/teams
The event was called Skywin.
oh i was talking about classes as in college courses
BUT i think lorewise it also adds to how VoT people typically engaged in sport that fueled the nationalistic spirit of the kingdom, yes
wait was this hosted in VoT?
VoT?
valley
This was an event ran by fans.
It was an unofficial competition.
The challenges took place in every realm. The teams had to work with one another to attend 'classes' to earn points for their houses.
ohhhh i see
ya i dont think i remember that š«
I never implied that it was forceful, I just think it would be cool if Stewie was the one who showed us their memories. Maybe have it so there's a room in aviary where they allow us to peer into their memories.
(Also, remembrance? And like every single spirit?)
I have to wonder what that scene means. It seems pretty early on, since they don't have any fancy clothes, but it's kind of a "hopeful", or at least not super sad, moment. Maybe they get inspired by the light or something?
Also important: they don't seem to have their chest light
to me it looks like alef, being the fallen child of light (skykid) he was, was interested in the world around him and they were still trying to get used to the creatures/light
he loved the animals and critters before exploiting them as an adult.
as for why they didnt have the chest light, it could be because he freshly fell
but idk
Hii can someone please explain the story of the blue bird??
I have a theory about why did the big blue crystal turned redā¦.

āBut failing in the endā is diabolical šāļø
This might not be much, but thinking about the vegetables in the ancestor market.
One can trace the earth counterparts back to central Asia, Europe, and even South America.
Assuming that the ancestors in sky have similar historic logic, they would have had to done some extended trading to get this much variety of food.
I would not want to look at the realms and compare them to real life environments because it is clear that a meadow, a snowy peak, a desert wasteland or even an island may not necessarily be tied to a specific region in real life.
One can explore ancient civilisations and draw comparisons to some ancestors and their cultures.
However it is safe to say Mesopotamia, Aztec, Mayan, Egyptian, Celtic, and eastern Asian (Japanese and Chinese ) are among the inspirations for the ancestors.
There can even be a bit of the bushmen from South Africa (Khoi San), the native Americans (lakota), and fictional influences as well.
Either way, it is easy to assume that the ancestors would have various types of food in their market.
However, I hope that TGC has taken the consideration in the worldbuilding when adding a bunch of vegetables in their game.
Honestly I'd be willing to bet(or at least hope) that at least for a time, there might have been other kingdoms that they did trade with as well. The kingdom today does take up a decent area, but I doubt that the ancestors, Elders and the King were the only people on the planet
I thought so. I just knew they were going to change that
šÆļø
interesting to see them have it in super old version and then having their hand on the chest in a trailer to maybe hide it - most likely the clothing hides the flame - or at least removed for that small scene to keep it as a secret until part 2 comes out, always that possibility too it is completely removed

Explain.
Eye of eden, right before the Krill door
To preface, this is merely my interpretation of the mural.
Several ancestors praying while the supposed Eden elder is gathering the light into the Eye of Eden crystal.
The shapes around them are the vague outlines of the elder shrines.
This is likely the top of Eden, which is similar to the top of Vault.
How we know this is that Vault is known as a dream like realm. The vault elder is still able to manipulate reality in that realm in some way (assumingly because they still have a power crystal/darkstone with them).
And we see a very familiar set of shrines floating amongst the rubble on the way past Eden and on the way to Orbit.
You can see this just after the whale breaks through a falling building and you ascend past the castle in the sky.
The mural is possibly depicting a moment before the crystal was shattered.
I just hope this is not a scene showing the ancestors being used to power the thing...
However, if so... Then that might explain why we don't see ancestor spirit from Eden itself.
Okie
is the lore that extensive?
It can be if you are willing to dig deep enough for it, lol.
I am 7 layers deep, but that is just my interest.
How many layers are there
(the layers is just a joke)
The lore is open to interpretation.
Some parts have a deeper meaning while others are, "what you see is what you get."
It truly depends on how far you want to look into it.
Okie
Yes
and a little disturbing sometimes
By disturbing, do you mean abyss monster, or moomin furniture.
My friend its way worse than that š„“
Ohhh yes it is
Put lightly, it is like the dark side of the moon type of theorising.
If not, borderline conspiracy, depending on what you are talking about.
This isnāt a coherent thought. But. Eden be floating, appears to be darkstone. But that would have to be a huge crystal. What was that energy harvested from? And perhaps it ran out of power and was attempted to be refilled again from the lights of the stars but instead took the lights of the people? Accidental or intentionally as sacrifices
There is⦠a lot of lore
I have poured many hours into combing over all of it and typing out anything meaningful I could find
how come in the game, vault elevator only comes up until the summit with elder shrines but in the film it leads exactly to the door eden
I may have forgotten how it goes in the game, once we meditate on the spot in the summit does it lead us directly to the eden floor
Actually once you finish the all elders cutscene, the elevator takes you all the way up to the eden portal
So in ch 4 thats probably the true summit thats also shown in game
thank you
Lowkey Lamed seems so comforting
I wanna hug them
They are officially now my comfort character
@celest saffron
I'm mostly curious about the episode 4 ending scene in space
My headcanon is that the kingdom used to span multiple worlds and was reduced to a single city clinging on
Maybe
I'm guessing they went back to the stars thanks to us 500 years later.
The idea that the krill slowly reduced the kingdom to just 1 city would be interesting certainly.
I, kind of think they are the only people. If you count all the seasonal areas, the kingdom of sky is massive, and it makes more sense for the narrative
The last remaining kingdom
Well, I mean, the kingdom that stretched throughout all the 7 realms
Kinda makes you wonder what the kingdom or kingdoms was like at its height
Same
Shes also funny to me for some reason idk why
The rabbithole goes much deeper; much richer

#lore-discussion-spoilers message
That too tom thats only the systemic/governmental issues
Imagine the pain of someone living through everyday life, not including the suffering Toymaker was going through
iirc, the energy was harvested from the soul cycle as Eden was the epicenter of it. The diamond shattered due to excessive energy inflow as too less energy wouldn't result in a shattering.
I think the people were hit by an initial wave of darkness from the shattering. And then the rocks rained. Leading them to be petrified or smth.
But idk, the lore is upto interpretation.
I'm waiting for teth in tte pt 2. Pretty sure Teth will be shown. Cause the whole introducing alef to darkstone thing was done by Teth.
What ive been praying for
tht look good
I've finished my summary of the conversation on Light biology and Vault mantas that occurred a few days ago! I'll try to post it around exactly <t:1755961334:t>

Spirit Mantas being recordings on darkstone lanterns? Vaults' experiments? Dead Mantas?
so in terms of how wasteland came to be my understanding was the greed of the ancestors hunting down manta and eventually they turned to krill or the krill came, now with part one my thought process is maybe? it was what mantas became after i guess sapping their light to power the lights to keep krill away? can anyone maybe clarify to the best they know?
What or who maintains the protection of Aviary village from the krill?
I imagine itās a matter of distance, and lack of habitable environments around aviary. They seem to prefer polluted, dark areas. Aviary village, home, prairie, isles, etc. are too sunny/bright for the krill is my guess. And with a constant stream of sky kids flying around, why would they ever move?
Itās basically the most bountiful area they can inhabit. So they donāt move
they probably wouldāve moved elsewhere if they could during the however many years itās been from the storm, to sky kids roaming around.
But now we are here and somewhat immortal and come back frequently
GW didn't seem too bad before the Krill invaded but I get your point
Iām also pretty sure that since GW is at the very base ish of Eden, itās likely a mountain range (hello valley!) so thatās what I personally think.
But feel free to tell me your thoughts and opinions ^^
I think it'll probably be revealed in part 2
Although I'd wager the massive amount of light/wax that skykids collect probably plays a role in maintaining the protection
Ohh thatās a fair point!
Protect Aviary! Do your CRs!
Likely the sound magic from the bells.
Aviary is also isolated island on the map just like old home.
i think whats interesting too is maybe the light creatures themselves theres none in wasteland really
Theres no one anywhere because everyone is dead.
It is just us, elders, megabird few crabs and other light creatures. If krill are alive is up to debate. Half of the crabs is zombified by darkness and shards.
It is mountain range. You can see it when you look closely on ingame map. The map shows mountains, bodies of water and valleys.
VERY important skycord do you think the eden elder/king (resh or something idk their canon name) is truly evil in your perspective?
I want to hear those theories or rundowns i wanna explore their character more
Hello is there anything Iāve missed since school started
Probably
Yeah itās already overwhelming
Heās definitely corrupt but certainly not pure evil
Sky isnāt a game where youāll find pure evil I donāt think, Resh is the closest thing to it
I can fill you in DMs if you want
It would be appreciated Iāve only been doing dailies recently
Yee, I saw you porting on me, h5 for daily and then peace out before I could even say anything back
It was p funny, just like if someone comes running to you actoss the street, h5 you while running and then keeps running towards the horizon
Yeah sorry about that i like getting my candles and stuff and with school i have been pretty busy
No no its okay, I was just confused for a bit and then laughed
I should make one too
Because it was fashionable
morally grey but not evil
Oh yeah definitely some Islamic inspo as well
Chaotic Neutral
I think...
Wouldnt say hes lawful since he tries to break laws of reality
The Ruler is what they are referred to
personally no, the scenes we see of the ruler in part 1 are made to give people an negative opinion on them and be seen as evil at face value like giving the order to take light from light creatures which can hit a lot of nerves of people easily to see them as evil when animal death is involved [Dusk Ember's POV helps support this further] - however, if you look deeper in their scenes, it is them trying their hardest to deal with the situation, try keep everything in power to stop the darkness from coming in, and getting incredibly stressed of the events unfolding as you seen with them gripping on the balcony as one of the tower's starts flickering out
so personally they're in a boundary where they are not evil evil, but they have done bad things like having factories on light creatures and causing darkness to get what it is into this horrible state, like disbalancing light and dark, all perhaps blinded by pride, seeing themself as the most important due to being a prophecy child, and in attempt to be revolutionary while taking away light making it all go wrong and too late to change it. Then the other side they are trying their hardest too to try keep darkness at bay to protect people as much as they can using the big crystal to admit light until to the point desperate measures are taken to try stall of the darkness as they make everyone take refugee into GW temple - they're trying to keep everyone safe, even if they are the cause of the world getting into this state [and possible elders too] + in art books we know they sacrificed themself and it'll most likely happen in part 2 if it shows that shattering events
my overall opinion is not solidified just yet because I wanna wait for part 2, because they will either show Dawn Ember slowly go down that dark path with no remorse or it'll display them as a sympathetic character - so could go either way
but as of right now and what I've seen in the two embers, my own opinion they're are not evil but they are not good either
hope this makes sense
I missed mask and fashion discussions
I shall surely shatter for this
i mean being ruler kinda makes other cities their too
Itās interesting you say this because itās almost time for me to drop my 6000 character analysis on a Light biology seminar that took place a few days ago
Iām not sure if I should mass ping the people who were involved but I want to!
You can ping me
I like pings.
As long as it serves a purpose other than spam or just plain annoying me.
In fact, I may as well drop all three parts of it now, before it gets active in here
Alright, incomingā¦.
A group of different theorists and thinkers provided various insights and brainstorming on various topics of interest.
[Player, CHROMESKIES, Noone, Amity, Tristan, Ayngarps, Trio, Caster, Mooples, etc!]
The following is a summary of what was discussed.
- Memory/Cosmic/Spirit Mantas: Projection vs. Death
Are the mantas in Vault projections or the spirits of dead creatures?
Evidence for Projection:
- Remembrance manta projector
- Dusk Ember sees their manatee projected
- These types of mantas only appear in the Vault
- The upper floors of Vault are likely all illusions
Evidence for Spirits
- A baby Vault mantas emerges from bones in the 4th floor
- They behave/seem like echoes or ghosts {Meaning that the Themes correlate}
Most participants concluded: Vault technology or 'Light magic', enables memories to appear as visible, interactive, semi-corporeal projections.
- Darkstone and Memory Lanterns
Proposed Hypothesis
Darkstone can store information, with analogies of CDs/DVDs and "Light engravings" being used.
Various Speculations
- The Vault utilizes highly-refined Darkstone to record, store, and project memories.
- Light is stored in, extracted from, and even reborn via these Darkstone vessels/capsules.
- Light Creatures, Anatomy, and Inner Light
Disclaimer; it was proposed that the 'Light cores' of light creatures are the yellow spots marked primarily on the head of in-game creatures, but The Two Embers Part One does in fact disprove this notion, with the core being located in the chest, which is where the Call of most creatures come from in-game. The yellow markings currently seem to appear more as sensory interfaces, and perhaps a nuclear (of cells) control center, similar to what has been discussed in previous conversations.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Ancestors were not able to share their Light, while in-game interactions suggest light creatures can.
[Part 1/3]

4. Light Blooms and Darkness' place within the Cycle
Crucial Obervations Mentioned
- Light blooms appear in low yet present exposure to residual Darkstone, such as Prairie Peaks and Hidden Forest
- Though Darkstone has been mined out of everywhere across the Prairie and Forest, it is implied that it existed either primarily in these two realms; via empirical evidence of mining efforts and natural and unnatural caves/ravines being within only these two realms and the ocean. (Sanctuary/Treasure Reef)
- Darkness plants also correlate directly with medium to higher presences of Darkness, which supports both Chrome and Caster's theories on the topic of darkness plants.
Application into Structured Theories
- Chrome references their theory that suggests trace levels of Darkness are required in order for Light to form more material, structural forms.
- Chrome's ideas align with Tom's conceptual Themes of Darkness being representative of transformations that Light undergoes, rather than being a literal substance. The Themes surrounding these transformations include Metaphysical --> Material/Worldly --> Metaphysical --> Repeat.
- Light Motes, Butterflies, and 'Proto-life'
This transitioned back into the age-old, utterly timeless discussion of butterflies as an unstable form that Light takes.
Various Speculations
- Butterflies are condensed Light, potentially the 'amino-acids' or building blocks of more complex light creatures.
- The Prairie Elder cutscene where the gifted Flame changes into a butterfly was mentioned.
- If butterflies can be converted 'back' into 'pure' Light, they represent a liminal state- somewhere between form and energy.
[Part 2/3]

The Potential for Biological and Metaphysical Interpretation
Light is not just energy.
It is alive, emotive, and malleable, subject to dramatic and profound transformations within a single lifetime. (Of an Ancestor, for measure's sake.)
Chromeskies' concept of Darkness being necessary for Beings to maintain a corporeal form results in much potential.
Too much Darkness; Calcification, Decay.
Too little Darkness; form dissolves back into motes.
To me, this potentially just brings this back around to the concept of Beings being made of earthly content (carbonic structures) and Light. In this case, the Light would serve as the DNA, expressing, projecting, and animating the carbonic structure that makes up the light creature or Ancestor.
There is a persistent undercurrent that Sky's biology is metaphorical/analogous/Thematic yet rule-bound, with a balance between Light and the non-Light and affected Light that we call "the Darkness". This balance would be the axis around which every creature's survival and transformation revolves, which is why it is so important for us to continue to learn about.
Notable Metaphysical Questions
- Why didn't the Elders become Spirits?
- Are skychildren Descendants, Ancestors, creatures, or hybrids?
- Are the colors of colored Light representative of anything meaningful?
- The presence of Dye in all of its environmental variation was called into questioning.
(Rarity? Purity? Frequency? Wavelenths? Emotions?)
- Are butterflies proto-cells?
- Are Vault mantas just memories? Or their souls too?
Recurring Thematic Ideas
- Decay as Transformation; nothing dies in Sky's world, everything transitions.
- Light as a Fluid Medium; extractable, shareable, corruptible, and restorable.
- Projections vs. Spirit; what is a memory to you? What is a ghost to you?

All done!

This discussion is a wonderful example of our ability to appreciate the beauty and nuance of our wonderful Sky world as a community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the brainstorm, because it gave me plenty to work with

I hope this helps our Progress ā¤ļø šÆļø

Rather than dying or being petrified, the Elders of Sky were subject to a much crueler fate. They became trapped within the void albeit in a pocket dimension inside of it. These spaces can be visited via meditating on the elders' shrine.
Descendants are Skykids. Its just a synonym for skykids. Skykids are a mix of Ancestor and Light creatures. Like Ancestors, they have an outer shell that shields their light and allows them be more durable than other light creatures. Unlike the Ancestors, Skykids have an opening on their chest that allows light to be replenished and used.
Butterflies are the simplest form of Light Creatures. They're just motes of light with just an itty bit of impurity within them, probably from the environment. They lack most cognitive function and the only interactions they have with Skids are responding to deep calls and the butterfly emote
Yk Tom remember when I was talking about darkstone tech acting as a way to preserve memories, it reminds me of the stand Whitesnake where Pucci preserves stands in discs
When you said dvd/cdās it just reminded me of that lol, i didnt rlly have much else to add
Light motes need to be excited/under great pressure to turn into butterflies
we can see it in game with how they sometimes pop out of burnt dark plants and opened pots
in one of the trailers it is shown that motes turn into butterflies after being used in a spell
what i'm trying to say is that Light motes don't seem to just sporadically turn into butterflies rather there needs to be some sort of a catalyst
Those werenāt my questions, but rather questions that were asked during the discussion that I saw important to note as questions weāve had to answer to ourselves, each other, and loremoths on different occasions.
And those are indeed common answers that people give to those specific questions, yeah!
šÆļø
Just adding on to the discussion. :)
deletes entire document
No... It can't be... NOOOOOOO
Keep em coming! Hopefully this invites people to keep thinking about these things, because I see these topics as so important

Well i guess if you gonna need refference photos for point 3 downwards... let me know...
I agree!
Even in the Prairie Elder scene, the Flame becomes a butterfly after being trapped in Ayinās clasped hands. We could almost begin to consider whether thereās a correlation with butterfly creation from Light substance with trapping and compressing that Lightā¦
Which only serves to run back around to Chomeskies and Iās ideas over the true nature of āDarknessā in terms of the transformations Light undergoes

I might take you up on that offer soon, as I was considering posting this summary to Skyblr
šÆļø
hm
I see Spirit Mantas as recorded creatures. The sky equivalent of uploading your mind to the cloud.
Using highly refined and specially designed darkstone, the scholars in Vault created Darkstone Lanterns which can record the nearly anything by remembering the positions of visible motes. Since this is a darkstone application, the resulting image is tinted blue. Spirit Mantas are a result of cutting edge darkstone lanterns which instead of remembering where the visible motes are, absorbs the entire light creature, leaving behind the impurities (non-light matter). Rather than normal absorbing, the manta projectors completely record every instance and state of each mote within the creature to such an extent that it replicates life. This is the same as just scanning every single thought and organ a creature had and running a simulation with that data. The result is a projected manta that acts like a manta but in different appearance due to the lack of darkstone elements. The only reason it doesn't dissolve into motes is the projector.
Spirit Mantas are pseudo-life. They're echoes of past creatures.
Pretty sure this theory has a lot of holes. Please tell me what they are. :)
Wait a minute. YOURE DEFINING SKYOLOGY?! YOUR BLOG IS HOW I LEARNT THE BASICS OF SKY LORE. ITS AN HONOR TO MEET YOU.
Okay, so the flying race. Do we know of any regular spirits that can fly? Did they ride mantas through there instead?
No spirits can fly. Resh can hover. They race on mantas. We have seen it in two citadel spirit memories.
They capture mantas as shown in the Warrior Aurora quest.
shards, you keep me crawling on my knees
I donāt particularly associate myself with the thoughts in that blog anymore; I wrote in a very assertive manner when I myself did not know much of anything about Sky yet, and as a result, I donāt agree with a lot of the things I posted back then. Iām glad you enjoyed that content though; my passion does indeed shine through it
They were capturing them for different thing than races in that.
Race mantas are companions as we seen clearly in Warrior of Love spirit memory.
Ohhh ok
One Spirit, I believe the Handstand(er), jumps on a mantas back and rides it everywhere around the Orreries. (Rather rude, Iād say.)
Manta-riding along with boats are likely the major ways they had flying races
šÆļø
That manta is his companion. We see the same manta in Warrior of Love memory.
Oh? So the warrior of love quest has the Handstander(er)? ||I gotta remember that guyās actual name
||
Yes. Thats from who Warrior gets the cape too. Backflipping Champion falls during racing and Warrior feels bad for it, thinking it is their fault. Champion calms them down that is not their fault and it was just mistake on his side instead and sees how Warrior is interested in the manta racing and offers them to try it. Warrior does so and is really good at it and later races in official race and winds.
I love mantas, I relived those two memories many times. They also summon real mantas to Citadel after reliving.
Handstanding Thrillseeker is someone else and does not jump on mantas.
Thrillseeker!!! Thatās it!
Iāve not seen the AURORA quest instances in years; and the Valley one in particular Iād dismissed as whatever, so thank you very much for this insight
I think all of Citadel spirits summon mantas upon reliving their memories.
I have photos from the memories somewhere, hold on.
I have over 7000 screenshots, it will take a while.
Have one of my friends in the meantime.
Backflipping champion with Warrior of Love cape during Blue bird quest. That makes the quest happening earlier on timeline than Warrior of Love memory. That quest includes Warrior of Love too.
Backflipping Champion and Warrior of Love in Warrior memory + more capeless Warrior during Blue bird (I was reliving the memory during the quest)-
Now do I have Champion memory photos hmmm....
Ah, sorry for the monologue.
Doesnt look like I took proper screenshots of Champion memory yet, Im gonna fetch it.
Oh, Iāll be free in 5 minutes, can I come with?
Sure, im in valley anyway, doing dailies.
But like... when I am NOT in valley lol. My favorite realm.
I think yesterday someone mentioned gw used to be golden valley
I did.
Ye. I was gonna go find who mentioned it once I caught up (which I did just now since I got distracted by my child)
Since there's no official name for the pink glowing flowers in starlight desert, I was wondering, have any lore moths, come up with any?
pink glowing?? i only know there's roses those pretty that bloom when you come close and the rest of the flowers are just balls in grass
the ones that light up pink when you get close to them!
These I assume. Thereās other plants like this like before Oreos gate. I think they could be called light lilyās as they recharge you
oh it's the pretty ones
didn't knew they come in pink
i want cosmetics with them now
Also damn they really improved the roses I remember when they were just like blocks with red spots
Idk if the ones at the butterfly door before Oreoās room recharge you but they do open when you step near them
the closest thing i could find to these is Six-petal clematis it's purple but reminds me of the bleu version a lot
wait no that's the wrong name
Thereās also grey/purplish ones besides pink and i think a blue
the bonanza clematis
Clematis are vines however. My grandmother grows them on a trellis every year
With how they stand I believe they are inspired form lilyās due to simple blade like leaves
Iāll see if others have visible stamens once I set the baby in her crib and that should help identify
Man it washes the flowers out a lot to even just screenshot them but I got it a bit closer to true color. They do very much look like lilyās by stamen
why does the kid in two ember just didnt come back to the tunnel to hide during the war
Krills cant get in there right
its more like magenta/purple rather than pink
Hermit valley looks even more ominous when the shards are in actual hermit valley rather than elsewhere
Light Lillies are also seen in a spirit's memory in Hidden Forest. The one with the umbrella.
But I don't think they light up pink there tho
Those flowers appear:
-
Starlight desert
-
8 player prairie puzzle
-
Prairie peaks
-
one is in confetti cousin memory iirc
The Great Manta at Sanctuary Island is actually just my dog in Sky.
š¤
Thats manta above Prairie Temple.
I couldn't tell exactly which manta that was, but I take every opportunity to talk about my dog.
Do you mean the largest manta in sanctuary? Thats MY companion. >:(
gathered a few older pics I took with the light lilies
You had some thoughts on how they work?
It wasnt them who started the convo.
it was, sort of. the convo started after I asked this!
I just wanted to provide more images with the structure/color of the light lilies
there's also a singular flower of this in the Music Hall [Duets area] I believe
Woah the first picture!
Oh where exactly?
im gonna go look
If you go into the middle of the hall, then turn right to a little cave area it'll be sitting there in the middle with a spotlight from light from the outside on it
lemme just
I think I have seen it before
ill go check and perform while Im there
yesss that!
it is little bit different though
fully purple with no dark center
it almost looks like
"Theres nothing left for me on this world..." "Oh my megabird thats my favorite hooman!"
kind of a random question but did sky by any chance take inspiration from land of the lustrous ?? specifically for daylight prairie
im rewatching the show right now and they just seem so similar lol . i feel like some of the tracks from lotl would blend right in with skys soundtrack too xp
Main inspiration was TLP and ghibli.
i see , thank you ^^
In short, based on what we know about the lore and how we can predict it, yes.
I don't know about the soundtrack, but the setting doesn't seem too similar to Sky. They're both rock beings, but they look and act quite differently
What's TLP?
The Little Prince.
yeah i was thinking more scenery(?) wise
ellaborating on Luca's reply.
There were more sources of inspiration TGC has taken for Sky.
Aside from the little prince and studio ghibli, they have taken inspiration from sources that explored the innocence of childhood, emotions without words, and the sense that things may not last forever.
There are more influences for the game and to name a few that we know of:
- alice in wonderland
- the moomins
- aurora's songs (namely the album, a different kind of human)
- the blue bird
- the nine coloured deer
- some mythology, fantasy and philosophy ex. Buddhism, Christianity (including its variants like Catholicism), Pagan, Mesopotamian, etc.
Sources like studio Ghibli, Pinocchio, Atlantis, several folklore or in depth mythos have not been outright confirmed. However there is evidence that suggest these thing that theorists on here have looked into.
If I may, these are not the main inspiration as far as I can tell from researching the game.
Unless you have evidence or a quote from credible sources.
It is a bit of a stretch to claim this and not have sources to back it up.
[bot you are really getting my nerves]
Yonking this for my bookmark collection.
There is some concept art further down on this webpage.
It doesnāt really matter too much. Sky takes inspiration from all things ever, and while itās not perfect to say those things are the āmainā inspiration, it doesnāt change much. ā¤ļø šÆļø
Fair, it is not a major issue.
The game has many more sources of inspiration than saying 1 or 2 things as the "main" ones.
Especially when looking the game and seeing how much research the artists and writers have put into the game.
Itās all important
i would say the undisputable main inspiration is journey š¤£
But Journey's inspiration is Flower
Lmao literally
They got the honks (chirps) from journey too šāļø
Sky š¤ Journey: honking at other players for every reason EXCEPT conveying what they mean
Little prince
Ghibli
And a ||hehe||ton of journey
Is it truly sky if you and your friends arenāt honking furiously at eachother and other grey kids in the area?
Is it truly Sky if your only form of communication with other grey skids isn't honking faster than a moth/sparrow's flaps?
I wish we could get more insight on how magic works in Sky. Hopefully they show us that in Two Embers Part 2.
I wanna learn how the Enchantment group even got together. They're basically the sky equivalent of Magic Hippies travelling all around the world
lightseekers were more in line with environmental activism while the enchantment group are like a traveling group or merchants.
I like to think that the Romani culture may have been one of the influences, but I cannot confirm that.
It might be off topic but since several days I've been thinking about something, do we know how ancestors are born? (basically all spirits before they dies) I keep wondering cross finger that they're not like humans, I even made a nightmare, any idea?
[Bot I have been putting it so lightly, not even a 14 year old would know what would be wrong. If anything, your oversensitive censorship is proving itself to be more of a problem for lore than any rude user]
Imma simplify my message that the 5 year old brain of a bot wont know what I am talking about.
Ancestors might have children like humans do (which is about the gist one can say on here without the bot sniping the message for no good reason).
We never see babies or expecting mothers
Not even in concept art
It is a slippery slope to talk about on here, as proven by the bot's "attention to detail" of moderation
there is recent concept art of a baby ancestor, that being Grandma/Belonging Guide/Blue Bird Guide #lore-discussion-spoilers message image from pleading child
Thatās a great question!
A lot of people have a quick reaction to this topic, but I donāt think it needs to be so immediately shut down, so long as we are mature enough not to make it weird or TMI.
Since biology in this world is so Connected, Iāve found that itās important to understand how any and all Beings of Light form, in order to understand how we could answer that question, with or without immediate evidence on specifically Ancestors
In the deepest seams of Skyās worldbuilding, we can find early-development concept art that describes a phenomenon that we here call āthe Cycle of Lightā or the Light/Soul Cycle.

interesting
I wish there was more of a reliable source because concept art is finicky as is, and without knowing if it really was by the devs and let alone actually included in the sky/animation project makes this less viable for evidence.
I really like the image and the idea, but would love more info about it for theories.
Ancestors and skykids are the same biologically? I read otherwise, ancestors doesn't seem to have light as heart like creatures and skykids, and they can't fly?
Also what is the common quick reaction you mentionned? I never been in lore community before
I really would like a simple answer if possible š
ancestors and skykids are different from each other if I recall
Ancestors seems to grow from children to adults size, contrary to skykids also
concept art shows grandma's age progression from baby to teen, though what I got from this is that since this concept art of a ancestor baby is super recent [rather than very early game concept] even to the point to be even considered as a guide, then the possibilities of young/baby ancestors being a thing aren't in the realm of impossible due to it as a recent concept and thought having in game
however, the youngest ancestor we see on screen is the two embers, that being the kid Dusk Ember interacts with in episode 1 and 4. You can see how small and young they are when being held on their parent's lap in episode 4, even Dusk Ember next to them looks big
that's all my thoughts on that hahaha
True, but I think Dusk Ember has a possibility of being a skykid (this is a bit of a conspiracy but I feel strongly with this)
Is it proven that parents exists in Sky? Or isn't it just parental figures
Ancestors and skychildren are indeed different Beings, but they both have and need Light; because we know that without Light substance, both end up dying
But sure, letās try to answer your questions simply and empirically
-
The topic of human reproduction is something that is not functionally appropriate for this server, and therefore is a topic we need to dance cautiously around. This is why those āquick reactionsā to say ā
ā exist. -
No, we do not know if there are or are not parents. That is the simple truth.
-
There are many Themes of adoption in Sky, though we are presented one family via the Belonging group. This creates much discourse and debate. Some believe Ancestors fall from the Sky like skykids, while others believe it is more complicated and more like humans.
-
It is not definitively proven that Ancestors ādo not have Lightā. I and many others would personally disagree with that idea, though we do all understand that no matter if they have some or no Light, they have a lot less Light than skykids.
Hope this helps!
šÆļø
So the most probable theory is that they all are created by "magic" (something that doesn't exists in our own world)? Also I'm sorry if I mentionned something that could lead to innapropriate things, it's literally what made me ask this in doubts and fear
Sure yeah magic
Why does it sound like you think otherwise? (maybe it's the emoji)
Waaait why you react with these emojis
we do also have assembly and light seeker spirits where assembly mentions: "Each spirit this season is individually related to the realm Ancestors of Sky ā with their theme and items a reflection of their personalities."
I've seen small debates if they are actually related in terms of being kids of lightseekers spirits or just a nod off to season of lightseekers
About point 4, I can't wait to see two embers part 2
I suppose itās moreso that itās much, much more complicated than just āmagicā. But in the end, it sounds like thatās the simple answer you need, so it works fine!
The lore is meant to be very mysterious and ambiguous, with no straight or āactualā answers to anything. This is why answering your question can be so complicated
šÆļø
Related in term of theme obviously
Also toddler Sparkler Parent + Confident Sightseeker kid. But we did not see any babies, both ancestors and skids. The closest to it might be chibi mask but notr really.
I see we're talking about, uh, ancestor creation again
But anyways, I think this is the main proof that Dusk Ember is a skykid. Namely, that ember is used to describe skykids
Oh it's something that was brought up several times?
So globally in conclusion, ancestors are really different from us humans? On the extent of everything you said, I really need to be reassured
We have Pleaful parent and Sparkler parent but those are pretty much just titles.
I'm not 100% convinced just yet about them being a sky kid, I still like the concept of you don't need to be a sky kid to be the light which parrels with Dawn Ember - I like the theory of Dusk Ember eventually becoming a sky kid at the end. We know The Ruler can levitate but that's about it, though, once we get Dawn Ember's POV it might shed light to see what Dawn Ember can do as a skykid and can compare the the two - since for all we know it might shed light on Dawn Ember's capabilities to no other [If it doesn't show any of that leaving to no differences, then I will be more accepting of the idea of dusk being a sky kid].
Who is dusk and dawn? I'm unfamiliar with two embers names
oh yesss that too, thanks for the add on
we also got the young kid from the two embers mentioned it here: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
/j before someone tries to say anything
Yk, Resh has this huge cloak and we saw him floating only from behind with this cloak flying everywhere, who cays there wasnt skid holding him and furiously flapping to keep him afloat?
Dusk Ember and Dawn Ember are the protagonists for The Two Embers: Dusk Ember is the protagonist we have had for part 1 that had just ended. Dawn Ember is the 'protagonist' for Part 2 that might come out in early 2027
First picture is Dusk Ember and second picture is Dawn Ember
Aaaa I want my answer I'm so stressed
I wonder when part 2 will take place, any idea?
ah yes, reminds me of this #lore-discussion-spoilers message bawhahaha
Part 2 will take place in the loooooooooooooong distance past before part 1 + Dusk Ember's time
Oh, so there's nothing after part 1 chapter 4, like it's not exploding?
From the looks alone, fire era (part 1 was darkstone era) but it can cover both ears, I personally think it will be whole "growing to becoming King" thing, aka from prophecy to Shattering.
We still did not see the scene of dawn ember meeting dusk ember, I think either first chapter or the last one will circle back to where part 1 ended.
from my guess, part 2 will lead up into part 1's timeline having the parts meet in the last 2 episodes then have the shattering event
although, the only thing we have right now for part 2 is Dawn Ember travelling, Isle of Dawn, and small scene of the trails
What king? The guy we saw in part 1? Or is it related to Eden
Anyone can reply to that? #lore-discussion-spoilers message
It's related to how ancestors are created, born
Jenova confirmed in interview that dawn ember becomes the king. "The boy becomes the King."
also ah i reacted to wrong message, I was ment to reply to my own but the chat moved
yeee, although the disappointment to many of Dusk Ember not meeting The Ruler in episode 4 - this scene in the trailer does show us that the two will eventually cross paths in part 2
The whole "creation" discussion is bit dodgy topic on this server as we have to keep it family friendly.
Why is this so cool š
I was meant to reply to my own message about the scene and accidentaly replied to you
information on ancestors as a whole is very vague, we don't know that much about them
But the leading theory is that it's not like humans right? It's the light like skykids.
I really need to hear the good answer right now, ancestors doesn't seems to be blood related to each others so it goes in that way?
We dont know.
it's okay I figured hahah
@narrow marsh could you give me a clear answer over this?
Tom is propably having lunch rn.
all we know is that ancestors are humanoid, the closest thing we can get to ancestors related to each other is Performance Guide and Rhythm Guide being twins but that's it. As far as everything else about them is unknown and not confirmed, so we can't really give a solid answer as it goes into theory/headcanon territory
Also Tom is not the only one with deep lore knowledge here. Two of them have been responding to you this whole time.
I see... I understand now. I just want Sky to remain fully safe, it is the case I know but I have anxiety over anything or any thought š It's just a story afterall, it all depends on TGC. Believing in wonder is better than reality and this is what Sky does perfectly (and a cool sad backstory is great haha)
Also there's a lot of caretaker, I think it's an important point that Tom mentionned.
Also valley elders being twins too.
It was mentioned in one (now privated so propably not canon anymore) livestream long time ago that forest elder and vault elder have simmilar looking masks because they are related as well.
Perhaps we call them twins but they are clones

And related can also mean they grown together too I think
understandable to be anxious about it, reality is that this something I don't see TGC ever confirming
Reality isn't made by TGC? I don't get it sorry š
Valley elder hair|| file names are called eldersis and elderbro||
sorry I suck at communicating words sometimes, basically it's always going to remain a mystery and up for the person to decide since TGC like to leave interpretations out for players
Whos elder sis and whos elder bro?
Sah or mekh
||Spiky hair bro, bob hair sis.||
||I am forever gonna call them that||
Or maybe it's primary useless to think about this? It's like thinking if they goes to the toilets after eating
(that wouldn't be grave contrary to what I asked previously but anyway) You agree?
I really don't like unconfirmed stuff, especially when it's problematic. But I think Tom interpretations must be the right one, so thank you for replying
You guys are really in theories and all, it's been years and years I'm here and I just learned that krills were light creatures turned by elders
Thats not confirmed.
TGC has a thing they like to do which is called:
I always had this thought at the end of chapter 1 that the king was sort of the cause of what kept happening during two embers.
Yes, in quite a lot of ways
If I may, what are you asking for? Some project or something?
That one scene where he basically tightens his grip on the balcony. Probably thinking
"Why aren't those things obeying?"
Well, yeah he is. Hard to say so far if intentionally or not. We will see in part 2.
Off-topic but,,,
Manatee pfp
I don't think elders had turned light creatures into krills
but, this is going off by memory, I swear I saw a screenshot once of a TGC staff saying about krills being light creatures but it was currently unknown if an uncorrupted krill would ever be seen in the future
Excuse me but are you refering the citizens as things or the krill?
He means the krill.
I personally think that krills used to be whales that were robbed of their light the way manatees are shown to be used in two embers. Which would be why they seek out light/the people that stole theirs
No no not at all, this is personal. I really felt so bad having this doubt when I watched two embers, I have anxiety and I don't want Sky characters to be biologically like humans just because they are humanoids. TGC leave interpretation open but now with your theories it sounded quite unprobable to be so thank you for this
You know, how they clearly never say character are from the same family (siblings can be unrelated blood even in real life), also lot of adoptions stories as central plot of seasonal content. Can you tell me what do you believe personally?
Why would krill be obeying the King? The darkstone towers were there to repel them.
Or maybe they just reform when they're reduced to nothing?
Yeah not sure the krills would follow a ruler of the lands, there is the King Krill that rests at the bottom of the abyss in the ocean in Treasure Reef
I mean,,, some way, if he started all of this, maybe he's sort of responsible for the krills attacking in the first place???? İdk I'm a new player to sky but I've seen stuff about it before I became a player so not all sure.
I'm confused too. Don't worry.
Like mantas can reforms into krills because they are like energy beings
got info slightly wrong, it wasn't a just a staff, it was Jenova who said it
found it, image from alasdair, link to message since it provides the link to the 2nd anniversary livestream: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
krills are indeed corrupted
Im affraind I dont have enough spoons to keep this topic conversation going.
Mantas are smaller than krills though. Thatās why I think they were whales; whales are big. And they also seem to have a similar amount of limbs to krills (the whale in the Sanctuary Islands, for example)
i personally think that they're twisted amalgamations of all they've consumed and been made from, not any specific Light Creature but rather a primary being of Darkness if you will
this idea is solely based off of the fact that we see no other Dark creatures aside from crebs which are just slightly annoyed by the stuff sticking to them rather than fully consumed by it
So they started off as just a predator that feeds off light, youre saying? What would cause them to change, then? The sudden lack of light bc of the king? Or just the vast increase of darkness present compared to light? (/genq your point is interesting I wanna know more)
krills/dark dragons are under no ones command, the huge crystal and towers were stopping krills and darkness from getting in. If you play through quest 3 in the season where there's krills roaming around the area, the second the tower's lights comes back on, it causes the krills to flee leaving it safe breifly
Not always. Great horned mantas are bigger than krill.
they started off as small krill
how?
i dunno, fish got trapped in pollution and turned into a krill is my finest guess
then a small krill started hunting and grew bigger as it consumed more, simple as
the light creature we have closest to resembling a krill was the concept art of the light creature with huge horns in an early trailer of the two embers, would be fun to see an uncorrupted krill in part 2
Or eel and this thing from season of abyss concept art.
Friendly reminder that both eel, krill and king krill exist on same map.
Yāall whats a great horned manta?
Biggest manta in entire game after elder manta.
Great horned manta is fan term.
We turned it into a cape
Oooooo the artwork on the second pic has some bit more details to them
Oh my goodness I need to make a baby cosplay for this for one of my little ones š
Of course, I completely get it
My personal interpretation is that Light substance falls from the Sky and forms into Beings when it meets suitable conditions like water and nutrients. In that ancient past, some of the Beings that would form were a humanoid species we call āthe Ancestorsā. These Ancestors would form over hundreds in inconsistent āgenerationsā, meaning that there would be a first generation, second generation, ect. Each new generation would be adopted by the previous, kinda like how skykids adopt moths, and this is how families like the Belonging group would form. Thatās my interpretation anyways!
šÆļø
Oh my god I really love this theory, and it sounds so real
Thank you a lot for you patience, I was waiting for your answer š Also you explain very well, I wouldn't be surprised if you were a teacher
Fr though if Tom is a mentor or teacher irl i would not be surprised in the least
I was just skimming messages and lurking hello lorechat how we doin
Iām just explaining as I feel it to be so, the same as anyone else
Wait mentors exists in the real world? I thought it was just titles in games ect
And you are skilled
My explaining is at another level haha
Lol when i was asking professors if i could be in their labs last year (which didnt work because of ummm⦠politics at the time
) we would consider them as mentors
You mean you were or the professor was? I don't know labs
Wait what
Great tag btw, I don't understand what you said
Thanks i love jjba
But i meant that professors are usually considered mentors sometimes, especially when it comes to guiding students in conducting research
Oooh I see
Guess I should get more vocabulary
Good light lore chat
*night
Sleep well soldier
lurking and wishing someone ever tagged me like this for opinion oh well
As for the humanity of the citizens in the game, i assume they are, but their physiology is wildly different yet at the same time so similar
This is where the physiology and medical studies kind of makes sense while also falling flat, but im still adamant that the disease is a deficiency disorder
Why do you start the topic again š You don't agree with this? #lore-discussion-spoilers message Sky citizen are humanoid shaped, have eyes and have a similar society as us but that's pretty all
WAS THE TOPIC OVER oh my bad
I only skimmed the messages, but i just decided to share my thoughts
Why do you say that their physiology is similar? (excepted 5 fingers, feet, eyes, head ect) Aaah my stress coming back
Oh crap
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh well if its causing you stress we could move onto a different topic
No I want to hear why you said that
To be honest, its mainly because of personal bias
When i see them in game it reminds me too much of us
Thats um⦠really it
What's a bias?
I just think that because of personal experiences and how i live life, i see the ancestors the way i do
Thats all
Well yes of course, that's the purpose of TGC creating this game to give us emotions, things we know ect, so that's pretty only why you feel like they are humans. Otherwise biologically they aren't, do you agree with that?
Edit: This topic is over please don't add anything ā ļø
Yes yes they arent exactly humans
None of the creatures we see in sky are pulled straight from earth, biology and physics work in wack ways in sky that, when comparing to earthly ways, some things fall flat
What's fall flat?
Means it wont work the same way as it does on earth
Ha, like it would be = 0, canceled or whatever science terms
Also thank you for replying to my awkward stress moments, I think I should sleep
Can't wait to see light krills in two embers part.2
I NEED TO SEE EXPERIMENTATION
What are you talking about? š For real since few days it's like I don't understand anything from sky people
š
Ahā¦
You mean in two embers, or literally?
I think we can just retract my statement
Noo what, what were you talking about? It wasn't related to the topic that just ended right so what is the topic
Yeah its unrelated
I was just saying that were some murals in the treasure reef that showed what looked to be experimentation of light creatures, so if we see that in part 2 of two embers that would be so cool
Aaaaah yea that's interesting, why do you wanted to retract
I totally never look at murals so hahaha
Lmao
Don't retract when there's nothing wrong
Sky is an allegory of our society for real, the end of the world š (I just noticed lol)
Detailed look on those murals with commentary, please refer to "couple of years before the shattering" chapter: #promote-your-sky-content message
Do we have informations regarding these cristals? Was there theories or murals before two embers?
Darkstones. They power up all technomagical things in kingdom. Unfortunately they need to absorb light first from light creatures.
I have thesis in works that includes it too, will publish it somewhere after last two seasonal quests in case we get new info.
I might sound stupid but, is there an explanation on how did shattering season came in present Sky world? Lore version not in game update for us players
Please refer to the same link I posted to you minutes ago: #promote-your-sky-content message
Yes I saw that in two embers, but did we know these before? And where (react if it's in the link too)
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
You can also find more about it in my chapter 4 analysis: #promote-your-sky-content message
Its in the "darkstone illness" chapter.
Wow you are the Lore channel master
It's the first time I'm here so I didn't knew you were writing all these essays
Gotta read all of it!
There's much more, as well
Would you like videos on sky lore?
Lol you must feel like this image
I-I know where to ask now but thank you
where is this from š š
Sabrina š please tell me you are not too young to know Sabrina
thanks
š
unfortunately i may be too young
then again i mostly watched cartoons growing up and only recently got into live action š
you should watch Sabrina, she is such an icon
I wondered why toy maker spirit disappeared...
Lore chat has a rich history of avid theorists
they kicked the bucket (died) from disease
Between part 1 and part 2? When I watched part 2 yesterday I thought I was watching part 3 by mistake
they died before the events of TTE began
when you saw them in ch 1, it was a dream the child was having of them
A flashback even during the first quest?
Edit: nvm I forgot time existed
Died to their illness offscreen between quest 1 and 2 unfortunately.
I'm reading your blog
@wintry matrix read both, that was greatly written, thank you for writing this
On my way to read my artbook correctly know
Prior to chapter 1 and between quest 1 and 2 as first quest happens slightly before chapter 1.
Sorry for delayed answer, I was candle running.
Dusk still living in the same tent, the grass died over the years.
You can compare the bricks to see it is still the same location.
Yes I was answered by someone else, I totally missed the timeskip and in game quests confused me
Thank you!
Yeah want some fashion lore
Hint #2 for you that I am much younger than you

Oh oops ping

Yall think the wounded warrior cape is the same as current warrior cape?!
Ngl it could be a uniform for officers in the military
Omg theyre different
Hello lore chat
I LOVE LORE I AM THE ULTIMATE LORE EATER
don't eat that, what will be left for us to talk about here!
How did you get the butterfly on your name?
And the fox role
can anyone explain the eden king/elder? from the shattered events i thought maybe all the leaders were got corrupted and greedy but in the animation we see just the eden person with the crystal
Nevermind I figure out the butterfly... but not the fox
send skybot a direct message with the command !team_mischief to select from a list of different things to come after your display name
as for the fox roles, that's been stuck on my profile since March. they added some roles to coincide with the Little Prince encore for days of Bloom earlier this year and most server members had them removed once that was over but
for some reason I'm still stuck with it. and I'm not even that big a fan of The Little Prince
Lol
I've asked the mods about it and it's something that the developers have control over as far as server roles are concerned... and I don't know how far up that is on their list of priorities
ive returned after a vicious battle with my curtain bangs
whats popping
Curtain bangs are so cute but I bet they're a hassle
How should i start first, i wonder? (sorry for the text wall
)
The person with the crystal of eden is none other than the king/the ruler themself. They are the one who established the sky kingdom. In the concept arts, they are known as alef (as the ruling prince name) and resh (as the king/the ruler name). From the prophecy season mural, we can see a child that goes to the trials in order to win the 4 sacred elementals of nature. After the child has succesfully claiming those elements, they share those elements among 4 elders. Then the child is crowned to be the ruling prince and soon crowned again to be the king/the ruler of sky kingdom. They are also to be the one who invented the darkstone technology in order to improve the lives of civilizations
However, overusing the darkstone and overexploiting the light source had let the void/darkness manifest, slowly expand throughout time. By the time the TTE animation state the wasteland as "the last city", we can assume that other realms has fallen to the darkness, leaving the wasteland as the last safe haven. But it doesn't take much time before the last city being attacked as well
Seeing the situations got worse, the king resort to one final choices. To shatter the eden diamond (this event are known as the shattering) and sacrifice themself in order to bring the new descendant (us the skykids) and recover the whole kingdom (according to sky concept art)
Now, that's the whole interpretations of the ruler/the king from my opinions. Of course, to better understand their character background, we have to wait for TTE part 2 release in 2027. It is said that it will focusing on their backstory on how the kingdom started šāāļø
ooh you are right, they are different
the sentries you see patrolling the last city have just a diamond insignia, with does represent the king to some extent, but the scarred sentry and the wounded warrior in particular have the full on king symbol
which begs the question of how ranks work in the army
man one of them is fine but the other one WONT COOPERATE and i need to REDO IT
they are cute though
I deal with that but with curling my hair. All my hair will curl except for the one patch of hair that decides it wants to rebel
What if they're from enemy sides?!
~~ I sent the message but now idk what to do next when the list pops up~~
oh right there was a 2 shields theory as shown in the two different insignias in GW, but its sun and diamond
the pics you sent show that theyre both diamond, so i doubt that it was two different sides
they all serve under the king, but civil war (two shields) probably happened some time before the eveents of the two embers
you have to say "i wish to be a" and then write what you want directly from the menu
hehehehehe I got it
bros a krill
Me?? Noooo skrunkly krill sounds No definitely not
Can someone point me where I could read the whole lore (at least from what we know from TTE)? I just finished ep 2 and aaaaaa i need the little details
I feel like this is the battlefield in front of the Wasteland Elder's Temple
Only one corrupted. Then corrupted one put in charge of other elders. They do his corrupt biddings. All die in eden explosion I guess.
wasnt there a whole civil war or something, at least based on the evidence gathered so far?
Man twice as tall as me wears same shoe size as me.
Mr, Tiny Feet
One would wonder if Lamed hides tiny ballerinas or Demonias under her robe.
lamed's secret ballet career
Lamed has tear marks on her mask. Ballet makes ppl cry at first due to difficulty. Lamed is a ballerina confirmed ||/j||
and pearls is inspired by ballerinas therefore Lamed is a rapper
Lamed's headpiece looks like a flat surface with engravings on it. Therefore Lamed is an ipad kid :)
it's her tablet bc she's a digital artist
Oh yeah
Lameds drawing fanfic comics abt the shattering.
The Praying Acolyte (blue cape, no beard) always stands next to the sprits who have daily quests for us. Why is he there ? Is it his job to organise the quest-givers ? (Today he is both there and, sitting next to himself, one of the quest-givers !)
I've been curious for a while, where did darkness actually come from?
Pollution, experiments, Darkstone.
By that, you mean people actually were the one who caused the downfall?
Darkstone as in Dark water, dark crabs, dark dragons, are all either results of darkstone or losing light.
What is Darkstone?
Darkstone is a material found naturally in the world of Sky. It's essential in trace amounts for most creatures to exist. Without darkstone/impurites, light creatures would simply devolve to pure motes (light particles). It's theorized that skeletons of whales, horns of mantas, etc. contain darkstone. Darkstone as an ore can be found in Priarie Peaks.
Darkstone has the ability to absorb and store light, akin to a battery. Ancestors utilised this property of it to create huge advancements in SkyTech. But refining darkstone was no easy feat. Naturally occurring darkstone ore deposits such as the ones in Priarie Peaks couldn't efficiently store or transfer light. All they did was react to light by glowing. Raw Darkstone had to be refined to be used. Therefore arose the need for darkstone factories such as the Hidden Forest Temple and the First Krill Area in GW. Refining and infusing darkstone with light released undesirable pollutants (Dark Water). This was mostly drained out with pipes and never given much thought since they produced so little waste from refinements at first. GW is theorized to have been filled with darkstone factories. Therefore there's a lot of dark water in wasteland.
As for dark dragons (krills), they're theorized to be mantas/whales who got experimented in various facilities. The only facility we've discovered is the one underwater in Treasure Reef. The leading theory is that baby krills hatched from experimented manta thingies.
The censor wont allow me to say the e-word
Please note that this is simplified and may or may not be completely accurate. Somebody correct me pls
There are couple of spirits you can interact with in Aviary village. Some are here every day, like Praying Acolyte, some just randomly through the week, like Levitating Adept or Blushing Prospector for example. No deeper lore behind it, just a cute little interaction. You can use pray emote next to Praying Acolyte for them to join you praying.
AND you can start a honking competition with the memory whisperer if you use the memory call.
They just repeat calls after you. I just go up into their personal space and start honking violently
Darkness is the natural counterpart to the Light and seems to be always been here. You cant have overabudance of one āpowerā without balancing it with another.
Light and Darkness are like two sides of the same coin, a cup that is both half full and half empty at the same time.
But what happens when someone starts drinking from the cup or glues the coin one side up?
The former Ruler of this kingdom can tell you about that.
Eggs. Huh. It works. It got my message flagged as blocked content earlier
I said experimented manta eggs. Which got me flagged. Oh wait. It must be the hatched part. Probably
So darkstone was originally neutral, but it became dangerous only when refined? Did the ancestors basically cause their own downfall by overusing it?
Pretty much yes
I like this explanation a lot. I just thought there mightāve been a deeper origin or reason behind darkness, like something more hidden in the lore
Me when Luca keeps typing on and on:
huge theory incoming
Unrefined darskone is naturally occuring mineral found mostly in forest (in the past) and prairie (peaks has overabudance of them). In this state it is harmless, does not drain nor recharge you, simply lights up when you or other light creature comes near it.
Those stones can be mined (as seen in both memory and concert version of Mindful Miner) and charged with light to power up lot of technomagical contraptions in the kingdom as well as to serve as street light if using low potency darkstones.
Unfortunately those darkstones passively (or actively if used in light extractors) drain light from its surroundings, including ancestors, causing them to get sick and grow darkstones both on and under the skin and die if exposed to it in high doses or left untreated. You as sky kid also get darkstones growing on you after being krilled or hit by rock.
Whaatt does that mean most dark creatures (like crabs and shrimps) were originally light creatures that got corrupted by exposure to refined darkstone?
Sorry, seems like we have to wait for mods before I can properly answer to you.
Baby krills, huh?
I think it might be issue of the message being too long. I tried to edit it and still got same result. Wont try more because I dont want to get muted, it already happened once in past also for sending long message.
Wha. I saw zombified as a ping. Where did it go
Arachnids are kinda cool
Yep. Im seeing skeletal now. Why arent my messages getting beaned?
Hmm, it did not catch any of these words so no idea why. Either the message is long or it detected something in words coming after each other.
I notified mods, lets wait for their response.
Yesnt. We dont know for sure yet. Crabs are not dark creatures, they are somewhere where ancestors are, a āgroundedā ālightā creatures.
There are couple of passive crabs, for example on sanctuary islands (near turtle island), around Graveyard bonfire or in Aviary village (inside Harmony hall) as well as present during Aurora concert. The aggressive ones you meet elsewhere are pretty much zombified crabs driven by darkness and shards on their bodies. There is something simmilar existing in real life where fungus can attack small animals (mostly bugs and arachnids) and take control over their bodies. Please do not look it up, it is pretty nasty. Paras and Parasect from Pokemon are inspired by that phenomenon.
Now I DO have to look it up or the suspense will kill me
Althrough krill seems to have some simmilarities with Treasure reef eel (sometimes nicknamed Light dragon by fandom) and one (likely also eel) creature from season of abyss concept art, we dont have any concrete evidence of them originating from any known creature so far. We only have one interview response from Jenova that krill are corrupted but only time will tell what exactly they are. If not in any upcoming season, we might learn more about them in TTE part 2.
Treasure reef murals show ancestors experimenting on light creatures and seemingly trying to create artifical ones. This is mostly present in concept art and has been toned down a bit in live game. Last mural of those shows dark creatures emerging from āeggsā with Leviathan/King Krill in lead. But those creatures are portrayed differently than krill usually is on murals. Krill looks like krill on murals while those look more like skeletal versions of mantas, they might be the worms we meet during days of nature. The big creature on the mural, either elder manta or elder eel, is also on those murals and is later gone with Leviathan being there instead so we can assume that Leviathan might be corrupted elder eel/manta. It certainly shares some simmilarities with the eel, like multiple fins and multiple eyes. The eel is the only light creature with multiple pairs of eyes.
Okay so the issue was it was just too long because I changed nothing in that message besides making it two parts.
I have a question.
How many cities used to be there? Did the one in wasteland count as a city, or only as a fortress? Did Eden have a city?
we would first have to define what is a city
in my simplistic opinion, Valley, Wasteland, Vault and Eden were one Megacity directly under Resh's authority
now, i have literally nothing backing this up aside from several theories about how all of the urbanized realms were directly connected as one complex
could it have been that Valley was separated from the collective Dusk?
maybe, but it is the same maybe that Valley could've been split into many smaller towns and villages
the same maybe that the structures we see far off in Wasteland were different urban centres
just like with many other things in Sky the Truth eludes us
Eden technically is the city. Wasteland is its "suburbs" and since Valley used to be part of Wasteland, it makes it part of the city too. They all share same architecture after all.
So it's essentially a one huge city? Like, all the way?
Did Valley separate into it's own city?
Aviary village, despite being called village, could also be considered a city, it looked pretty big in earliest concept arts (we dont know if those said concept arts are of Aviary but there are couple of simmilaritites). Theres also Crrescent Oasis but that one shouldnt really count since it is collab map.
Bewsides that, there were couple of villages scattered across realms during fire era as we can see in Dawn part of Two Embers trailers.
This is crazy, sky lore is so good, i love it. Also what if thr murals are actually showing stages of corruption, not different creatures? Like maybe the mantas or eels slowly turned skeletal, and the leviathan is just the final stage of that process ahhahahah
So, shortly speaking, Eden and Valley are cities, Wasteland is suburban, and the rest have no cities, only villages?
We dont know what caused the separation and if they even got separated. We know that it was called Golden Valley in the past. We can assume the valley part of Golden Valley could be the rich people while wasteland was the rest. So it could have been segregation over separation. We seen valley trumpeters in second and third chapter of two embers so valley is still holding up during that time. Maybe it fell to darkness later and that led to the city being broken in parts but thats something we dont know.
Id like to think of Eden and Golden Valley being this one massive supercity like Tokyo is.
Thanks for explaining!
Technomagical is a fantastic word.
If you don't mind me building on this; I like to think Darkstone has an unfortunately cumulative requirement for absorbtion of light; for lack of a better term. What I mean is that at first; you can get a lot of technomagical power out of a piece of Darkstone by getting it to absorb just a little bit of light, but as time goes on and the Darkstone is continually charged; it very gradually requires more and more light to produce the same amount of power. Resulting in a devastating spiral of decay that nobody could have predicted in the beginning.
funny how the spiral is a recurring theme regarding Darkness
i guess it'd be fitting
I took this from the different end - In my thesis/analysis (#promote-your-sky-content message) I talked about how initially the organic darkstones were harmless even after charging but as the technological boom demanded more and more of them, the ore veins went dry and ancestors were forced to create artifical darkstones (something that is possible to do in real life too, humans are able to simulate conditions to create artifical diamonds) and those were the harmful ones because they were "fake", they were not creation of Megabird (assuming everything we see was created by her). We can see the darkstones being rechargeable as they originally come charged and have to be held with tools (based on concept art) and in chapter 3 we saw "low battery" darkstone being charged back up using light from light creatures. They have to be encased in metal likely to 1) not blind everyone 2) not drain any more light 3) too hot to touch.
That last image always gives me the creeps.
Cavemen ancestors. They look like crows
Ah, artificial DS. That's cool.
Final Fantasy XII had a similar gimmick; placing a huge deal on the difference between "Manufacted" Nethicite (made by mankind) and "Deifacted" Nethicite, made by Deities. Nethicite was just some crap Square Enix made up because it's Final Fantasy, but I thought the word "Deifacted" was very cool.
More "tribal" like, simmilar to how fire era was, but definitely not cavemen. Just closer with nature.
The Last City, I think, combines the wasteland battlefield, vault, and eden int one megacity. Then, I think the Prairie Temple, Forest Temple, and Valley Temple all were the center of their own cities
I thought Valley, Wasteland, Vault and Eden were collectively referred to as "Last/Ruler“s City".
I think Valley would be separated
Interesting, given how in Chapter 2, we do see the same statues we see at the start of Coliseum sound an alarm.
Separation would occur after Wasteland-area fell fully into Darkness.
It always existed imo
Because it makes sense
Speaking of another minute detail (sorry to derail), do you pals know the King“s symbol that Dusk Ember hits when Scarred Sentry held them by their wrist in Chapter 4?
Since the latter didnĀ“t have it in Chapter 3 IĀ“m kinda certain that itĀ“s a Sky version of an army medal, be it for their bravery or due to being injured in the line of duty, which does make their reluctance to do anything to the orphan that much more emphasized. š
Yeah thats what I was saying too, just a medal of honor for their deeds.
Is it a medal?? might be just part of the uniform
I personally use the word megalopolis. City implies we have any understanding of districting when we really donāt. The realm portals and transitions between each realm are not at all indicative of Ancestor mapping, though people are quick to assume it should be
šÆļø
It apparently is, since they were lacking it in Chapter 3 ... which also answers why do we get their neck armor with a cloak/cape as well.
They came with the cape/cloak as well, but once injured, the party that injured them (I“d absolutely say it“s a
) also tore it off.
party krill
Still pretty significant how theyĀ“re pretty much allowing Dusk Ember to hit it still, as it is what makes them notable among others. š Which tells me that their heart is at the right place: caring naught about what theyĀ“ve done, instead caring for the ones theyĀ“re defending. Even from themselves.
This is a really cool concept! Perhaps the intense power needed to run the towers that kept the Darkness away in TTE rapidly accelerated this decay, with the end result of complete decay being the black shards we see Stewie find

Speaking of realm portals, I“m actually wondering who created the map shrines.
I thought it was a shard of the gem that took chonky fellas life but I might be brain fried
My personal interpretation is that it makes the most sense to my mind that they were created in the Descendantās era, by either the Descendants or the Spirits.
šÆļø
It might have been the same siphoner, which would have the same effect on the Darkstone (or rather the Light inside) but yea itās really hard to be sure
One would think that they were created much sooner if you“d ask me, possibly by Vault Scholars.
As we do have a geographer-spirit.
Ooh, Vault scholars! How do you think so, then?
Kinda liking to imagine that there were select groups of them that travelled the Kingdom via boats (kind of like Forgotten Ark, but smaller) and documenting it all on memory lanterns (since Forgotten Ark does have one section filled with mysterious memory lanterns) while the geographer would steadily map the entire thing into a form we get to see as in-game map of the Kingdom.
That is, until something happened that caused the geographer to be condemned to Starlight Desert. And yes, this is totally lifted from journal excerpts from past games IĀ“ve played. š¤
Itād be really cool to see like- smaller Vaults- archives; hidden in small pockets across each realm
I mean, we do have the Forgotten Temple of Light hidden right below Recluse“s home.
Could totally be possible and speaking of that Temple, I bet that the little shower of light (as well as ambient light falling in Chapter 2) was caused by Dusk Ember when they placed the lit candle beside the ill manatee, as it was placed below the monument, kind of like a ritual.
As for that first candle we see, it gives me big "ceremonial candle"-vibes.
Does the kingdom even have a name, or is it just called The Kingdom?
we do not know the nation's name unfortunately
id like to headcanon it has a name, just in the language the people spoke at the time
a canon name isnt there tho
Thanks!

Definitely! It aligns with the tradition expressed in the mural at least!
I think the most confusing topographical quirk in Sky is the relationship between the Forgotten Ark and Treasure Reef.
The area around Ark is believed to have once been a vast ocean, which receded over time. While Treasure Reef seems to have once been mostly on land, with the buildings being built while the sea level was lower before being submerged. The obvious implication being that the land shifted over time, and caused the water to flow over the Reef.
The quirk here is that to get to Treasure Reef; you travel East horizontally from the Wasteland Lobby. To get to the Forgotten Ark however; you have to drop down through the vortex. Landing in the swampland below the thick cloud layer, and then go horizontally East; the same direction as Treasure Reef.
So how could a whole ocean have moved; not only southward, but also apparently UP a massive cliff??? š§
Those two longboats you have to take to get to either map must be taking some wildly different routes than just due east!
I think maybe it's important detail that the boat we take to the ark goes up. and we end up sailing in the clouds once the cutscene changes maps, instead of in water like when we first get on. however , the treasure reef boat starts in the clouds, but we end up in water once we change maps
but what does it all mean?
You're ||bald||
nice job, buddy
Thanks
The area we emerge in, as we teleport from the Wasteland port to the little canyon leading to the Ark; is clouds, not water. This actually offers some important room for unique interpretations. It could perhaps be suggested that the boat eventually begins flying off of the seaās surface, upwards towards the elevated location where the Ark is.

i love fish
Oh I hadnāt read this yet, yes exactly!

huh?
It's almost like it would make more sense if they were just switched! š
You're right though, the Ark Ferry almost immediately lifts out of the water with a diagonal trajectory.... And here I thought the Ferry to the Reef would've had to go down! š I didn't even stop to think the Ark could be up in the mountains.
I love YOU, Skybot!
This whole chat is so fun and enlightening.
How about THAT, huh?
What are you gonna do about that?
