Sof since you're here and mentioned it
who's your fav character from DDD?
and for the sake of staying on-topic
who is your fav spirit/elder?
I’ll answer you in gen!!
yes!
It looks like they're using it to drain light and put it into that device they have
No
Go back to cooking crab
Maybe those feed into the whole grid, maybe that is how they keep the towers powered
Kinda like a battery.
This brings me back to one scene in the trailer where one soldier is about to use that device in front of the Manatees
I KNEW IT THEYRE SUCKING UP LIGHT AND STARVING THE GENERAL POPULACE
they are making lemonade for resh out of it
hes gonna be sucking it with straw and sunglasses on
Yeah or like a capacitor
I feel like those things could be like capacitors (which store energy in a safe way, smoothing flunctuations between voltages) helping with the whole system's stability
Bros chilling in his castle like that with his swim trunks like a cartoon villain
he has swimming shorts with mantas on it i bet
Thats all he wears under his robes
Lol that would be a funny sight indeed
he owns that manta floaty too
he invented it in fact
Dudes linkedin would have that scene shown in that snippet with the light sucking machines and caption it something like “LETS GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO OUR HARDWORKING TROOPS 🙌🙌🙌🎉🎉🎉”
he has many shorts tho
each w a different animal stamped on them
nah just mantas cuz he loves them
(Im coping with ridiculous jokes)
I can see this ref but imma stay silent
Funny tho
Resh would have the most insufferable LinkedIn profile
Hashtag beautiful tech
hashtag best kingdom (only one...)
nah his linkedin pfp is this
hes posing with every darkstone like men psoe with fish too (he wears his manta swimming shorts during that too)
Photoshoping the background to hide the starving citizens behind him
w the sea and mantas behind him
hes greenscreening lisa frank stuff in there
yes im aware she is not okay person but the style really fits for this meme format
Lmaoooooo
dove into the wiki last night and omg im just stunned
im way too into sky now😭😭
Yeah thats what happens when the two embers revives people
doofershmitz core
Hey, wheres dusk ember?
Doo bee doo bee doo ba doo bee doo bee
greedy afs
crying because all bros tools are star shaped
~~ egocentric and greedy~~
Exactly bru
im so mad i missed all the other seasons😭 that started from the BEGINNINGG
i just had no idea this had lore.
i have another question tho. are skykids only reason to live is to relieve the older spirits? like will they ever settle down or will they constantly be searching for spirits? or is that up to the player
Same i skipped like 3 seasons (tbf they were not too substantial with lore) but ive been here since 2019/2020 FINALLY substantial lore 😭
But to answer your question I think some people (and me) believe that Resh’s punishment for his tyranny after the downfall and death of the kingdom is his descendants (split from his life) are skykids who have to do the opposite of what he was doing
He was hoarding and not allowing light to ascend and we skykids have to continually set then free for eternity as ancestral punishment
I think the spirit reliving is just storytelling for the skykids to know why they deserve this death loop
before ascending to orbit skykids hugs someone who iirc is resh/alef
Yeah probably
Alef’s soul was hunched over like a child in trouble or crying as if he felt guilty too
sideyeing that sacrifice concept art because I feel like it'll be important later /j
Sacrifice!
ill curbstomb that little kid🗣🗣
Yeah we make the sacrifice as descendants of Resh imo
Thats why we have to suffer through his broken kingdom which definitely needs an HOA complaint
As stated from the game's introduction:
Uncover our darkened Kingdom.
Restore it with your flame.
The stars were once united and our light was infinite.
The first of us descended to build a Kingdom in the clouds.
But we took our light for granted... and in shadow, we withered away.
A long time has passed. Now, you bring us hope.
Go forth child. Return your light to our fallen stars.
Sky Kids main "purpose" is to restore the kingdom which involves helping the spirits, elders, and going to Eden to ascend.
Yeh 👆
The Two Embers uses a lot of the second quote which I'm happy abt
i knew it was the main purpose, i just didnt know if it would happen over and over again or eventually they'd start to beable to settle down and restore land in another way😭/nm
Oh my bad! I get ya, well considering that new seasons and content gets added who knows how long this will go
Resh’s sins are infinite and his guilt immeasurable (So is his drip) so our suffering is eternal
muahahahahaha
I personally think the answer to this is both yes and no. Sky kids are meant to help bring balance to the destroyed natural process but they're also meant to go through the natural process themselves just like all other living things before them. Motherbird is often described more as a collection of energy and information rather than one singular conscious entity. With every light creature that reunites with Motherbird, the further it grows and the more "it" understands. So civilization could probably grow once again under this cycle, and it kind of is with every game update (lul).
The main point of the sky kids isn't to restore, but thats kind of a secondary thing that just comes with living the life they were sent down to the physical realm to live.
oh dw ur good, it still helped 🗣
Their drip is immaculate and fitting for being like that™
(also cute jevil pfp)
This is also why our drip is often immaculate
Imagine you reign over a whole regime after falling from the sky only to fall in power and then descend into honking preschoolers
Yeah I agree with this
After all we are also light creatures so we just continue the Light Cycle while at the same time help all the light trapped in shadow (seen as a punishment or not).
Honking is skykid's language
I don't like to think this is some sort of intended punishment and Sky kids are meant to suffer for the crimes of a past life, that just doesn't fit with the idea of rebirth to me. But we are encouraged to pick up the debris and sweep the dust nonetheless, but it doesn't come across as punishment. Moreso like "hey if you help the world around you, you help yourself"
Being all powerful and then suddenly you are now an entire daycare class
maybe the king gets to see how messed things up are now every time we go up there🤨
or a punishment is having the king see all the rebirth and having to let them go through instead of harvesting it... or im saying nonsense
THAT CRUNCH EMOTE BASED
Exactly I agree with you.
but it is also fair to say it could be seen as punishment even tho it really isnt the true intention, but more like a natural process for the light to go back to the stars to reunite with megabird.
I personally think its punishment but I dont see any flaws in your idea either
Oh yeah I keep calling it Motherbird because it sounds like motherboard and I think thats funny
I seriously just don't think punishment is a theme here. This is moreso about atonement and restoration, not necessarily payback. Maybe it is a punishment in a way, but I don't read that as the intended idea. It doesn't come across as meaning to be vengeful.
Makes sense if its a game on care and kindness
I might just be hardcore
/j
atonement i can definitely agree on, more like “hey kids you wanna be like Resh? No? Then do the opposite” and not overly hard punishment
plus its the spirits telling or asking them to clean up everything, in a way its giving the spirits some credit too..maybe
BUT I INSIST
Resh isnt evil yall
He was heavily influence by all, this was everyone's doing, it is unfair to blame just one soul, it would be the same in oyr world to just blame one person, one country, one culture...
We are all in this, as much as they were all in it.
This is why I do think using the connection spectrum is so useful to undertand this and see it all over
WHY ARE U GUYS SLANDERING MY KING Caster thank you /hj
Punishment isn't much of a theme in Sky overall. Its moreso a game about doing the right thing to move forward, but punishment is often something very stagnent in isolation. Again, this is heavy on the themes of restoration and stopping the darkness rather than just confining it or tearing into it or something vicious like that. Darkness is fought through connection, cooperation, and care. That is anything BUT punishment.
Resh is what happens when you have the adults around you (elders) inadvertently raise you into being powerful only to further succumb into madness from having so much power, resulting in hoarding that power and not knowing when to stop
Tbh if it were me i wouldnt know when to stop either, a situation like that would turn me insane too
yea
They have the burn out gifted child vibes like a lot
THat's what Ive been saying, he's a gifted kid who was given power beyond himself
i would have crashed out much earlier
I have and will continue to compare Resh to someone like Anakin. It wasn't 100% his fault, but he had a massive hand in it and it was ultimately his own pride and impatience that brought upon his downfall. Sympathetic, maybe, but still definitely did awful things as a result of arrogance.
However I will say he is still the antagonist and people are free to view him as a villianness guy if they want. Personally he fits the lawful evil archetype the most.
i dont blame him, id want flying ships too./hj but everyone elce that encouraged the experiments and huntings are also at fault too. he had alot of support
Exactly
Your pfp 😭
HAHA you're the fourth person to notice, I'm glad people pick up on it. My friend made it so good!
They all put their burdens on to him
Too much responsibility upon his shoulders
It is fair to say he had all excuses to be tyrannical and to be mad
We should make an edit of King Resh to Monster by Skillet honestly
Id say Forest and Vault elders were probably some of the worst elders solely in the fact that they encouraged darkstone use and are the realms which use it a LOTTT
They arent evil but still thats uh… that fed Resh’s ego a lot i think
If we get more footage of him I will personally do that
the only good thing is that i get to flex on him everytime i succeed the trials just for candles
You gotta tag me in it
Yeah
an antagonist but not ill intended at heart
Just good intentions misdirected and corrupting
vault needed them to store info right? and was vault also a way to get closer to eden therefore required more and more crystals?
itd made sense if daleth was like one of the first elders against the use of light
Fr me too
would love to see
I can feel empathetic for Resh but still hate the guy
The devs said Eden in the gameplay is supposed to reflect empathy so we feel the pain he inflicted on others and on himself
Hes a creature of light too after all, what he was doing hurt himself too. He just didnt care or notice
oh i definitely hate him for that neverending storm, the rage is unending as i scream at my kid to get up as they get pelted with crystals
Every time someone mentions Daleth when it comes to Alef/Resh I cry.... that man was forgotten so hard despite his sweet mentor/parental figure nature
end justifies the means or smth
Daleth and Resh is Hank and Bobby
Dang it, Resh!
PFFT AYNGARP
doomed found family my beloathed/hj
Def
this is what I have seen since the start
was prairie not appart of the beef at all? or did they also mine from the caves
Probably but more as support
I think a lot of people commuted from prairie to forest (kinda like between Newark to NYC) because forest was such a hub for darkstone and its mines
Exactly
Isolation is def where punishment is experienced the most. So if we wanna think about punishment, that could be him (Resh) staying stuck in Void and having to relive the whole thing, cause what else could he do?
But it isnt all punishment cause he can also see us and feel us (after all we are connected) and he greets all of us constantly too
EDIT:
Maybe he isnt as stuck after all if he reunites with us after that hug in Void before ascending to Orbit.
wait what role valley would have then. Like
Valleys part of GW i think so prolly just troops i thingk
Btw guys i dont want to make it sound like my lore is doctrine im just throwing stuff out there
they caught the light creatures there and took light from them right?
Only Forest ancestors were mining darkstone in the caves because Teth and Alef found them. Prairie people and the Elder would get butterflies from the realm and contain them (mainly for their light).
More like too clouded to notice
Yeh prolly (exactly what Yume said)
Valley and GW would entertain/defend the people
I think its moreso safe to say that it is likely that Resh as we saw him 500 years ago doesn't exist anymore. His presence and actions loom over the story, sure, but I think when the calamity happened he was killed off just as the others near Eden were. I think we don't really see any ancestor spirits in Eden because a lot of them were sent to the Light just as disaster struck, Resh included, that or they were just so utterly obliterated they basically don't exist.
ohh they were prolly more involved when things first started to happen with light, getting butterflies for a lightsorce when the crystals first got found or hoarding them when things got bad
I heard somewhere that its implied darkstone was also possibly being artificially created by combining fallen trees with light somehow.
So many things were exploited for light
Creatures like butterflies, people, flame (from candles or otherwise), sunlight, you name it
yea for valley
It's kind of picky to fully say what each realm prioritized because the Elder murals mainly depict what the Elders did with some people, each realm also had other jobs (for example, it can be assumed that Prairie does agruculture and makes crops).
Except birds maybe
Yeah and they were farming the heck out of it, and as we see in Part 1, it was likely to power the massive stone within Eden. Though for what exact purpose we still aren't sure. Its possible it was being used to keep the darkness at bay, but I think it had a different purpose aside from that.
i forgot abt that 😭 /lh
Yeah true
I just said his name for the sake of understanding
but the kid we see in void before ascending I think he's Aleph, before becoming Resh, so more like a pure soul
i just found out this stuff lastnight😭😭 i legit had no idea about any lore till now
There’s so much too sky
You mean the kid we hug? Hang on a sec
Thankfully it's not touhou levels of lore lol
another question. what are thoes things in the fire trial??? ive always wondered about them... like are they somewhat simular to the dragons or are they pure void creatures
@serene pollen this and my message directly below it
I have wondered the same all along
they are strange creatures
Personally i think that hoarding light in the crystal wasnt to keep darkness at bay, in fact its what caused darkness to spread.
I think he hoarded light in the darkstone crystal to more or less power infrastructure, weaponry, and tech
Thats just me tho
that or a way to get light from eden for a endless supply?
I assume they are just creatures of darkness, most people call them worms but the brunt of the matter is 🤷
Yeah i mean I doubt Resh would be a benevolent monarch to actually care about how bad darkness gets because at that point he was too far gone
Bro just wanted to become a powerful force of tech and capital
Oh yeah that makes sense too
but I still feel like it has some link to Aleph
cause sorta became the body of the whole realm, just like we hoard soul spirits in our hearts, he did the same for light in the kingdom
since he was corrupted maybe even physically, do u think he gained that hunger for light like other creatures
Remember he started to grow crystals on his body?
it is likely he was corrupted and not evil
yeah not benevolent anymore cause it wasnt him anymore, it was more darkness than light.
Yes yes exactly what I am saying
He became like dark creatures, hungry for more, impulsive, reactive, clouded
Definitely he was never like evil in his heart or something
He went too far and it hurt him too and the corruption came from inside to out
Sometimes people do crazy things when theyre in pain and dont know it
Exactly
Finally I see more acceptance
bro is darth vader im just sayin
he is def darth vader lol the poster reference puts him as darth vader
Nah fr
wait fr? where is that one?
In the cinema (this is a star wars film post reference)
Exactly
Isnt that an adventure time reference
or am I big dumb
u think the guards only let people with no infection through to get reborn but they just got consumed by the king
LOL no Adventure Time references star wars when they do that
I had no idea
Nope
they did? /genq
It's kind of funny because they put the manatee as the girl (forgot her name but whatever)
my god he really is darth vader
must mean the main char and the manatee are secretly siblings actually
LMAO LEIA 😭
I knew it was Le but i could not for the life of me connect the word together 🙄
R2D2 and 3PO were retconned here
so that poster was a sw reference
If you need a list or a comparison I can bring up a social media link that shows all of em
Theres jaws too lmaooooo and totoro
Hang on so is Alef the main character we see in Part 1 or do we not know?
dusk emeber is supposedly abt stewie
No hes not
Alef is probably (?) gonna be part 2 where is EVEN FURTHER in the past
Hopeless Stew 😭
Theorized but yes (has not been stated or shown yet)
Wait I didnt see this before!!!
Okay so we must refer to them as Stewie (for now) for the sake of clarity.
What I was GONNA say was "No, Stewie, I AM your father!"
Guhhhghg gn next episode comes on at 1 am in the morning on monday i think
or midnight
Ssoooo cooooool
@plush timber
and yes he got them
YES I WONT MISS IT🗣🗣
i work on mondays but not sunday😏
i don't remember was the ep screening every two hours before ? why now 4
Yeah in concept art his mask ended up looking kinda bad when corrupted
Every 4 hours? I don't think its that long
i might have mistread the post but idrk
Resh trying to resist the urge to blow everything to literal kingdom come (he fails)
they blowed stuff up during the shattering /j
They blew up stuff the entire darn time that civilization existed
wiki doesnt really have any lore if yozu are looking for that
if you want lore look at tumblr I'm serious
if you want lore just ask us im serious
Don't ask us you'll be swarmed and you will never again see the light of day, only the light of your screen
im us
So im rewatching the first episode again and i saw something interesting
There was a mural where there was a stream of light and people with candles trying to light them
In my opinion it looked like people trying to do anything they can to find where circulated light would “leak” from Resh’s systems to relieve their sickness/loved ones sickness
Who made that mural we’ll never know, probably one of these people who set that trend and made it so that others can know what to do
i mean ill take anything:)
anyway those tumblr blogs are run by people here (nekovo, tom and others), thats why this is better source
would you have a link? im willing to get anything i can lmao
The man the myth the legend Resh (its only 13 seconds tgc dont kill me)

If you look into my messages I've sent here I've written a TON of super long lore dives. I'm too lazy to type them again though ngl.
Ah theres no episode audio just me honking lmao
same goes for me, though im more just of a humble photographer
Im the clueless veteran yapper
This entire discussion is just The Yappening™️
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories is also a good place for lore, there's also a few gdocs from back in the day.
thats the one i read at first, ill take a peak at the others
wait that's the other thing i looked at too💀 guess im good
Amity206's Blog is like the ultimate doc of fan understanding of the lore as of current.
This one is very readable i checked it out
mhm
anyway the promised ayin orbit photoshoot is moved from today to thursday, i forgot it is ts week
i dont have earth prophet wb yet
I need that spider mask so bad man
i was looking at that cape, it looks beautiful on wiki but then i saw it in game and it looks awful lol, if it had that purple shade as on wiki i would grab it without second thinking
Bro we need to see what his front side looks like
TGC STOP MESSING WITH US 😭
They did show a teaser of what it looked like and he looks normal
Well i mean before corruption lmao
I mean King Resh's front side not his child self!
Like from two embers?
wdym we have his front side the whole time here #lore-discussion-spoilers message
LMAO
dont laugh at him he will cry :(
STOP TEASING ME LIKE THIS

He deserves to cry
YEET
Who are we yeeting
"Everyone. All of it. Everything." - Resh probably
Little Reshipoo deserves to feel the burn of remorse from the fieriest pits of Hell

Too bad he doesn't get to become a force ghost like all the other elders
Seeing Resh like the Elders in-game is my one dream in life lol (which sadly will never happem)
If concept art gives any clue, bro's ghost would be massive
mhm
In game or in TTE? Because yeah in game its never gonna happen… in TTE im 90% sure it will
In-game like seeing him in orbit
Are you gazing upon the king respectfully
Yeah…
Then again he wouldnt even fit on screen
GOOD LORD 🤦
Yume saw Resh and rlly said (hang on 30 sec cooldown)
Ain no wayyyy 😭🤞
STOP YOUR LINE OF THINKING
WHAT 😭✌️
YOU HAVE A FICTIONAL CRUSH ON BRO ADMIT IT
I do not find him hot whatsoever. I just really like him as a character and like the motifs with him. He's like a chracter I'd put in a jar and keep as a keepsake if anything.
I'm not the type of person to get fictional crushes.
I dont have a crush on bro i want to achieve his build and style
Very normal way to think of someone btw
And height but i can never achieve that height
I'm very new with most lore names, and I've seen two names thrown around for seemingly the same(?) person. Can anyone enlighten me about the difference between Alef and Resh?
One sec I'll send a thing I said earlier for that
i mean im aroace but he do kinda yk
Me personally Alef was when Resh was young and freshly fell from the sky as a fallen celestial being and was prophesied to gain elemental power (trials) and rule as king
So he grew up to be scary old Resh
Click the link and read
Funnily enough my aroace friend who got me into Sky says I like him (in a crush sort of way) so I'm not surprised Tiger said that. Then again I did like a bunch of Resh art on tumblr.
Teth and Lamed kinda…
Uh anyway so speaking of which do you think they turned against him like what Tsadi probably did (not the shield theory i mean)
I think Lamed was more concerned with darkstone but Teth not so much. She was probably die-hard darkstone supporter till the crystal burst
Teth is very diehard do it my own way person so not surprised if she did. Lamed tries to be like the friendgroup "mom" in my head.
teth and cannoneer kinda yeah i agree
Ohhh ty both sm!
She still tries to use the darkstone 500 years later in her cutscene…
Like girl… stop…
i shared my tierlist here #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Lamed also encouraged darkstone usage probably but was less of a risk taker for it probably
Literally! (I don't blame her though she's on that grindset fr fr 💁 )
I know her LinkedIn profile would be INSUFFERABLE too
Truly, it would smell of entitlement and so much buisness jargon
And rain
Dont forget that awful rain stench
Never thought you could smell rain from Linkedin lol
even 500 years ago karen was terrorizing civilization
excuse me i love petrichor
it is such a nice smell
dude why is it giving me every letter but G
Gross
It only smells good if its mild
I give up
I keep thinking of how hilarious it would be if the kingdom looked more modern but with the exact same lore and animals and etc
Like cars and phones
And social media
you must live in the middle of city or somewhere else where it tends to get dirty a lot
I wondered that too for a good while after seeing that one history muesum art lol
the original concept was like that actually
Nah i live in the desert of the US
I think if they weren't, it would be incredibly weird.
What's the point of fixating on this incredibly important and vital figure, and not having any sort of in-game connection? They're so similar as well, especially in clothing, that the in-game depiction of Dusk Ember would probably look extremely similar to Hopeful Steward
that might be the cause then because it smells amazing in temperate biome
Also, I think we'll see a scene where Steward merges the candle into their body the same way skykids do at the beginning of the game
I live in the suburbs where things are very quiet
dont forget that we find our own candle next to husk of stewie in aviary opening scene!
If so, it kind of disrupts the timeline because we don't see much signs of the darkstone sickness in the spirit memories. I wonder if the Wasteland seasons could take place way after then
also both stewie and dusk ember hair is drew in awfully simmilar way, like it has to be the same person cmon
I think the swirls represent clouds, not darkness. Also the fact this is a ruined area makes me wonder about the timeline even more. When was this made?
I'm not sure about this interpretation, I like this one a lot more: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Skykids aren't eternally suffering, I don't think so.
Oh sweet a theological point of view on that aspect
One cursed thought is that this is actually Stewie's own candle
I was joking in that comment
but yeah Maybe the eternal loop is more or less just a game mechanic
We do have to lift resh’s sins in a way like what that comment said but lorewise whether or not its eternal is kinda iffy
I am Hindu so the reincarnation part of it kinda flies with me but I should read the Bible more
I'm not sure how much of an eternal loop, I think in the new aviary storyline we only go to Eden once, to save the spirits. After that we're free to do what they want
Yeh
Sky's worldbuilding takes inspiration from Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist beliefs to forge something very unique
It's funny to me how much "original sin" plays into it considering one part of the fanbase uses that term for Eden.
Correct me if im wrong but original sin is what sin adam and eve had and what newborns need to be baptized of right
yes thats what im pointing at and i even included it in my timeline document, the last page is all about stewie running with the cadle to save everyone during shattering and then falling for it themselves
That's the action hero ending, which would be cool, but a more tragic ending is Hopeful Steward deliberately placing that candle there while slowly succumbing to their fate, being the last to fall
I'm not familiar with baptism, but it's more of a broad way of initiating them into the Christian faith. Some places do it as a sacrament of grace that forgives original sin while others might not.
It depends on the 'flavour' of Christianity you are working with (ex. catholic, gospel, protestant, etc.)
The "original sin" was Adam and Eve eating the fruit of knowledge of good and evil.
Baptism is a separate topic that came up later on. And its meaning, application and purpose may vary.
wall of text incoming, can i get 5-10 minutes of silence to post it?
👍 (I can't react, my bad)
Its also worth pointing out how much Eden resembles the Tower of Babel. Specifically from this painting titled Belshazzar's Feast. This painting just SCREAMS Sky lore inspiration
The way the tower looms over the whole narrative ominously, only lit up every now and then by the flash of lightning, attracting storms because of just how high it sits in the clouds. Even the moon doesn't reach as high.
The whole idealogy is very similar to the kingdom's endeavor throughout Sky's past with the ancestors and how they tried to advance as a civilization away form the light. Certain depictions take it as a "defiance" of god.
I love that parallel.
Context to the old myth. People from the ancient civilisation sought to build a tower so tall, it could reach the heavens.
Because it is represented man's defiance and attempts to reach God. The people's languages were scrambled. No one could understand one another and the construction project fell into chaos.
The tower fell into ruin when people abandoned it.
When applied to Sky's Eden. It could either be the origin of the civilisation, or more likely the peak of the ancestor's civilisation.
Their climatic moment that they built up to before calamity struck.
"The beginning of the End"
Same brain moment, love to see it Bird Raider
The fable of the tower of babel sounds partially like what Resh’s ambitions were (almost) to me
Like extreme ambition that was punished by God (megabird)
Ah bird raider already said it lol
Icarus' foley theory
I think overall both Eden and the Tower of Babel were representations of the overall hubris and pride of their creators. There are forces beyond our understanding and trying to wrangle them into doing our bidding oft ends up corrupting them and hurting those natural cycles. By trying to "tame" the land, we end up polluting it and sucking it dry of its light.
I also think this plays into why its called Eden in the first place; it was downhill from here. Literally.
Love this discussion! Eden being called Eden is one of my top favorite trivia bits.
Come to think of it, Vault kind of has a tower of babel…
Lamed… what did you do
If you're having trouble getting up stream, you don't have to reroute the whole darn river. All you have to do is walk along side it.
King Resh did not, in fact, do that.
LMAO
vault is built inside of a mountain so its debatable also the air inside must be absolutely awful unless they have some REALLY powerful AC
Resh didn't just want the river to flow into the sea,
Resh wanted to keep the light from leaving the realms
Isn't the problem being that rivers are like... supposed to do that?
Like the light is supposed to cycle
By trying to control nature you fundementally destroy what makes it natural in the first place and that leads to your own downfall. Unlike in the fable of the tower, King Resh's downfall wasn't brought onto him by Megabird, it was likely brought onto him literally just by his own doing.
From what I'm getting he tried to halt or alter the natural light cycle somehow and then it just exploded. Like bending a turned on water hose shut.
always wondered if the one in the middle is supposed to be resh or someone else
Sticking a massive crystal like damn on the right (upward) side of that cycle also stops refreshed light coming down
gotta love hubris
Theres just one thing im very lost on
Before the shattering incident where exactly did the elders reside? In their own respective realms in their temples?
If thats true that means Lamed is very close in proximity to the king so i wonder if she had the strongest hand in talking him out of it
Btw i agree with how Resh was squashing the cycle and preventing light from being free
I wonder if it was a "parliamentary" type thing, the Elders had their own realms, but resided in council with the Ruler
Also this is considered "The Last City", I imagine there aren't several Elders walking around the wastes of their previously prosperous realms, except maybe Isle
like that 4 player room on the second floor of vault, there’s a massive table that’s definitely too tall for regular ancestors, so it has to be a meeting table for the elders
We’ll know when we watch more TTE i guess
In one trailer i saw the vault elder walk thru the entrance of that tower and meeting the king so i mean
Dude Im trying to add R but its giving me everything BUT the letter R I mean come on what IS this, dude
It's probably too tall for Vault elder too tbh
I think they were more active in their realms, but we see them clustered together in the final Shattering memory.
That memory kinda casts doubt on the whole "Last City" thing, because I don't think all the elders were just refugees at Eden
LMAO shes like maybe a head taller than an average ancestor so yeah 💀
foullll
🇷 here you are
I can't copy paste it into reactions on phone
:regional_indicator_r:
In greek mythology hubris results in nemesis (downfall) so yeh
regional indicator? 😭
Yeah if you combine them in the right way they become flags
for example 🇺 🇰 becomes 🇺🇰
Why couldn't we just call it letter_r and be done with it
I was gonna bring up another theological reference but the bot got the message, oh well
vine boom
I love when the UK becomes the UK
Here's a list of them https://apps.timwhitlock.info/emoji/tables/iso3166
I really hope we do get some scenes of Elders in part one, but I imagine most may be part two
Im starting to think also why Vault and Isle elders have damage due to darkness and not the others
vault elder especially since she was in close proximity
When i saw part of that trailer i dont think i saw it on her (then again she was kinda far away)
Did Resh hurt her or sumn
Maybe not directly. Do we know exactly what causes the darkstone to become embedded in living things?
Do you mean like shard crabs?
Or more like the manta being wrapped up in dark plants (which the devs call darkstone), such as in forest?
Well we see in Part 1 that the darkstone is directly imbedded in living creatures. We see in game that its embedded in the crabs, too. Do we know how exactly that happens?
Her mask is chipped in every instance in the game minus TTE. She DOES however have that crack under her left eye in both TTE and the game.
Oh the husking, like on the ancestors.
At the moment my theory on that is because there's no "fresh" light returning back from orbit, so it stagnates or becomes dark.
It could very well be why the water/sludge in wasteland drains light, but water in forest doesn't, only the rain.
I thought the rain just drained light cause it was polluted. The closer you get to Eden, the more polluted things become. Darkstone in of itself has a light absorbing property, but it seems that normally it has to be under specific conditions to do that, as it doesn't often harm the player directly until you encounter it in its red form.
Oh ok
Light deficiency prob
When you stand up too fast
Me when i forget to take my light tablets
This gets me thinking.
If our "glyph analysis team" are still around, they now have a better look of the headdress.
This is one of our best shots of those glyphs in years. 🎉
Got that vitamin D deficiency fr 😔
It could very well be that it's polluted, and it's falling into a purer river, so dilutes the impurities.
It could also be that those impurities are actually coming from the crystal factory that is the Forest temple, as it still has manta trapped in there (not sure if they have been trapped for 500 years, or there is like an open trap, that manta wander into and get stuck, probably the latter)
But the rain may very well come from them.
Why it stops when the bells are rung, or what it has to do with the jellyfish is still a bit mysterious
Yeah that's what I thought when I saw the glyph doc from years ago haha :D
Have some soup 🍜
hope it helps
If it does come directly from the local factory then that would explain why the rain is nowhere else in the land of Sky and why local mechanisms turn it off. I wonder if maybe those mechanisms existed specifically to allow safe travel on the major routes and they were activated periodically for that purpose.
We have these, but there's no key to go off so speculation at best guess
Where does the river go? Wasteland? And why does it not also become polluted after half a millennium of polluted rain?
(So moths don't venture into the hall of shame right after the tutorial)
My guess is that there's a sea further to the "west" of forest, as it's current position in the realm map is far to the left/"West"
SHE SPEAKS ENCHANTMENT TABLE
That's a nice image
I love to interpret lore and stuff into the game, but I'm afraid a lot of the stuff is more practical in, well, game-sense with no real lore reason behind it :/
Ok now you GOTTA post it bro
I am maybe looking at these too lightly.
But the in game glyphs and the animation version are similar.
So there is possibly a framework to apply from the older research and see if the higher definition of the animation project reveal new details.
So east then? In the direction of sanctuary?
My guess is there's either a huge sea, to the west of forest, circling down south of isle, and joining up with the wasteland sea to the east
Ooh yes, that sea could easily go to sanctuary, and below the wind paths, out to abyss (treasure reef) too
And it would make sense, as Valley has huge mountains directing water that way
Pretty much with what a krill in disguise reacted with, abyss
Yeah, quite where the "polluted" sludge of wasteland starts is a mystery, but it's got to be between abyss and the main area of wasteland, whether that's seperate by land, or it slowly gets more polluted in layers, it's hard to know for sure currently
Hmm a sea around would also make sense in a way. Like old volcanic caused archipelagos, those O - C shaped ones
Hopefully theres more updates in part 2 of two embers since part 1 showed basically what life was like towards the end of the world
Maybe from underground, the sand would help the sludge in a way then
My English vocabulary is quite dead after 10 hours in the library but it hope it makes sense what I'm trying to write xd
Yeah, could well be the sea goes underground and a layer of sludge is above it, but the sludge always seems "heavier" to me, that it would sink if put with pure water, but it may well mix into a less impure substance.
If I may, we’ve always seen theorists reference their personal notions of “a sea” over here or there. But in my mind it’s always been “the sea”, with the lands being secondary. Keep in mind that prominent theories about the Hidden Forest is that it and most of Daylight Prairie are floating islands, with the world below (at least Prairie) being confirmed to just be straight ocean, with some volcanic islands.
I hope this different thought contributes helpfully to the brainstorm.
🕯️
I think the pollution maybe came from nuclear fallout from the crystal explosion but after the death of a nation there may be changes in pH?
Dunno
We definitely see that in the likes of birds nests, and though it's less trustworthy, most areas oob under the cloud are water
I could imagine the deeper layers of the ground itself is the source of the sludge pollution as it doesn't rain in wasteland. The 500 years are enough to erode a "cleaner" layer of sand onto it, but it's definitely too short of a time to change a lot of stuff in sedimentary sense
I definitely agree that it’s less trustworthy, but yeah even using OOBs we can still somewhat identify sea level!

In Wasteland, sea level is very close below the ground, matching to all the polluted waters surrounding most areas.
In Prairie, sea level is a hundred feet below at all times, except in Prairie Caves and Prairie Peaks, which may point to those being grounded mountains.
In Forest, it is also always a hundred feet below the ocean. In Valley, these “sea level” oob boundaries don’t even exist; suggesting all of Valley is a grounded mountain range.
It all lines up!!!

Im kinda (very) dumb when it comes to environmental stuff in sky since theres not much to work with for me
That's where I wonder if it's not "left over" but the factories, even in their broken state in wasteland, are functioning in some way to extract light from the land.
There is at least 1 in wasteland, where we first see the krill, and there are signs of more buried in the ground.
If they are still drawing light, as forest temples factory may be doing by capturing manta, but in their own way (maybe sucking light from pure waters running down from Valley), it could be a constant cycling of new sludge we are seeing
It is a strange environment tbh
Extremely strange
Even down to the atmosphere
I telling you, the air should be minimum the thickness of water just going off the flying movements. I'll push the "floating island" topic onto light magic lmao no idea what's happening there
I've always noticed that too...
What's it suppose to mean....
Looks similar to the text in Splatoon the way they word things, and also some look similar to the symbols on the Journey capes
If it helps, I try to think of things that in our world doesn't contain "light", such as water, as purity, and "light extraction" being akin to removing the purity (bad analogy for irl physics) but kinda works on a metaphorical level for me.
Yeah like if i try to understand it in Earth terms my brain breaks
oughhf
Sorry can you run that by me again
It's 1am for me, I'll be going. Nighty
Yeah trying to do that is difficult, suspension of disbelief, and acceptance of an "alien" system of physics to us is good
If water is Sky "contains" light, that light may somehow be possible to be extracted by ancestors machinary, leaving the sludgy dark water we see.
You’d be surprised. I’ve seen some very creative science-saavy people finding different ways to measure and observe surprisingly realistic motifs about Sky that align perfectly with how light and pigment work, how biology works, and etc.
I highly recommend ThatSkyentistKid on Insta, their work is phenomenal.
🕯️
OHHHH YES THIS MAKES SENSE
And it goes with how corruption occurs in animals and people too
Again, just a theory, and it could well be that the sludge is from remains and bones of light creatures being stored in it.
Now im wondering if those symbols were like a meaning to something...maybe im overthinking it or my brain is too fried to think about it
Maelstrom, have you seen the Chapter Two teaser they posted on Insta and X? I’m just completely left aghast
🕯️
See ive done labs in college and HS on light, wavelength and physics but a lot of it was kinda rudimentary since i basically just started college
and I mainly focus on the medicine and physiology/biology aspect of animals (including humans) when it comes to research
Ill have to check the yt out

Oil
This makes so much sense, thinking about how you start off at Isle of Dawn on what I assume is the ground with surrounding ocean, then just keep going up and up from there
I also work in a pharmacy so im also interested in meds too
I’m a bio/psych dork, and it absolutely shows in the research I contribute to the community
we all bring our beautiful unique selves, it’s all so helpful and so wonderful

Yeah when it comes to enviro Ive got nuthin
oops
Physiology and medicine and bio sure
It’s killing me
In a good or bad way
Grandpa gunna yeet some light collectors
Yesn’t
Allow my skychild Tom to express it better than I could at the moment
(this was from the general trailer, but now at least we may see what they, and the wasteland towers may actually be - and not turrets)
Dude knew what was up
The hype has been so real, and 1/4 has delivered well so far (emotionally at least)
Yes
I may or may not stay up till midnight for ch 2 but its not like i have work tomorrow
Go grandpa
Please dont let anything happen to this savior
I'm sure they will all appear in Aviary unharmed... ||
||
huh?
imagine a new area in Wasteland appears, and there they will be found, as Spirits shall they be reunited in the land of their dreams
whuh?
i’m gonna get so emotional going through orbit and seeing them flying
Spoilers skybot, ||they probably didn't survive||
Wym probably the whole damn countrys a ghost town

If a spirit manatee appears there, or in Vault, I'm going to be irreconcilable
what do YOU think?
Im gonna lose my mind watching the next episode
Im scared for part 2 of tte though (but in a good way)
I think you should get out 🗣️ 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
https://thatskyshop.com/products/manatee-plush
Scan the STAR to teleport to Vault of Knowledge and play with a spirit manatee with friends you're holding hands with for a limited time.
65 bucks are you insane
Hell nah that manatee can play alone with dead people idc

I can't wait for this shot to get shown (also another one but i feel like its for part two so I won't show it)
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Skybot is chatty today lol
Wait if you dont mind could you dm me the second shot (only if you wanna)
I just cant wait for Resh and elder(s) interactions
i wonder where all the current spirits are living in this timeline of Two embers? I wonder if they are kids at this time or maybe just born
Stop...
Your gonna make me end up in a state of sadness if thats our manatee 😭
Oh that just gave me a horrible theory/idea from that merch....
From probably what I theorized the spirits when the two embers timeline happens, a lot of them are still in their current age before the fall of civilization
I mean it wouldnt make sense for some of the spirits we find and revive in Sky to be young kids
The timeline for rn is 500 years after the fall of civilization, so its been a long time, think about how everyone was before the nuclear eruption of eden
Tears will be shed (link to OST, possibly spoilers)
||https://youtu.be/3o3teLLmC9o||
That's def spoilers from the title alone 😭
does that mean that grandma was alive then?
And since we go back 500 years ago, our skykids wouldnt have existed
No dry eyes when that starts playing
She probably was back then maybe telling stories to the kids back when they were still alive
The devs have said that there is a timeline of events, it's hard to piece together, but it's probably that grandma and belonging family came much before the events seen in the two embers as we are seeing them, when forest was much more alive
So every spirit and ts was alive in the past and I mean everyone, but now they are stuck living as spirits but their memories still remained
Lets not forget our main character for the story, Stewie was alive in the past but has also become a spirit too, its why when we meet them in aviary, they were a statue before we revived them
Guys! I’m ready! I got an entire flock of birds from the zoo and…what do you mean that’s not what you meant by ‘Aviary.’
I think season of belonging was maybe around the events of two embers probably since that was around the time families usually got displaced due to war
The light hearted seasons (rhythm, performance, etc) were when the kingdom was at a golden age or when the industrial revolution was at its peak
In TTE so far i think war was about to begin
Rhythm had a rare appearance of the Elder bird.
Seeing a 'remaster' of that season in Sky would be interesting.
The one with the Belonging group paired with the Blue bird season was a meta-tease.
They were actually quite strange if you think about it, they are one of the husks with no memories leading to them.
The only places that has happened is during the season of Revival with Steward and the other guide spirits, though arguably you need to complete their quests (except Rhythm as they didn't have a quest line) before dehusking.
The only other odd one is Cellist, who we actually follow memories in the void, more like the Elders.
I would be surprised if we don't see the war starting at least in the upcoming 2nd chapter, or at latest the 3rd chapter in the week following.
Yeah and itll most definitely be shown in part 2 when things get dark really fast (pun intended)
I'm still holding out that part 2 will be partially if not entirely flashback, but who knows...
Episode theorizing, in prep for tomorrow
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Early call on this chapter I don't think changes much, as chapter 1 I was fairly close on, who could have predicted Steward selling toys at the market, or a manatee stampede that early in the episode?
-strokes non-existent beard-
Skybot you're scaring me
Shut up clanker
No AI generated art here please
This is a no-clankah zone sparky
woahhhhhh, too far /j
Mods, cancel em
Did I hear someone say 'Skybot?'
Bro is gonna get their pea allowance taken away
Hey, personally I have this deep respect for the soldiers in the seasonal area of the Two Embers.
It all started with the Scarred Sentry
Id like to think they had families that they’ll never see again
That's now my main worry. With all they do while watching out for everyone, including the King, I worry they'll lose people around them and they're going to end up dying in the end
To be fair everyone died in the end lmao
Yeah which is going to happen anyway
I'm surprised someone here likes the soldiers, not saying that because I think they are bad or anything but I fully expected people to care more for the main/side characters.
My main concern is the Toymaker.
Who died....
I know we'll help her as we can while she's sick before inevitably dying
The police love me
The police love me so much that they wanted me to stay in a jail 5 times so i wouldnt leave after serenading them with my honking
So far that's happened to me twice lol 😆
AFKJSJFKLJKSF AHAHHAHA
I want to hit a world record of getting imprisoned 100 times for the entirety of this season
Well you have plenty of time, buddy 😜
Imagine TGC gives out the stats on how many times skykid get jailed.
Maybe even joke about name dropping the "most wanted" with a creator.
Watch the game give you a achievement for reaching that and it's one single candle lol
My government benefits
/j
You'd love that wouldn't you though, perhaps a chief of command coming through and sliding a candle through the jail bars
That should show up when i die next time in eden
Steam Achievement Get:
Jail Bird
Get sent to jail 100 times by the guards.
are you okay?
Peak gaming experience
Imagine that is a real acheivement and only 0.5% of the players have that.
On the lore side though you can really see how the kingdom got militarized over time
The last city is so heavily policed
Second quest is tomorrow
And yeah I've noticed that the city has a good amount of police 🚨
Honestly, having achievements with ridiculously high requirements would be peak.
It would at least speak about the long game in terms of completion
Edit: As long it does not include in-app purchases for Heaven's sake.
Why put a down payment on a house when you can get sky iaps instead
i wish pc had achievements 🙄
They could do steam achievements like PS but eh. (Also probably shouldn't go more into discussion since lore chat)
You know what guys what if one of the quests involve waiting in line with the sick people
That’d be (pun intended) sick 🔥🔥🔥
I think maybe if they were going towards where the king was they maybe were probably just sent there to die since nothing else can be done about the darkness plague if all the light has been kept from the cycle of freedom
Holy run on sentence
I hope not, that sounds so dark. Also omg awful pun
This game is trying to make utterly NOT family friendly topics in a family friendly manner
Hehehe a lot of kid friendly games do that yeah
Real, though a lot of lore discussion outside of this server might go into further discussion of that without getting beaned
But anyway I dont doubt that those people in line believe they’re being saved, but in reality are being drained of the last amounts of light they have
Given how Resh is after being so corrupted I wouldn’t be surprised
We'll see but I do like the angst potential of this idea knowing how much light is already being taken and used from the sneak peak and other material shown. It's truly tragic considering how my faith was given towards the king and the kingdom. I do think a certain character will definitely be used at one point but I digress.
Also if you want to talk deeper my DMs are open idm, however I will probably be going to sleep in like 20 minutes.
Im gonna have dinner soon and im probably gonna limit my lore discussion for today
Maybe tomorrow

Alright, have yummy eats
I'll see you when the next episode comes by then lol
yes y3s i like this idea
Promised neverland esque
I haven't seen that series but from what I heard about it oughhh
Me trying to process what you mean:

Afterwards:
I literally already pictured how it would look like, the sick people not realizing it would be the last time they would see the light of day
Yep! Totally kid friendly
Me checking lore chat:
Welp
Hi Kephi
I am kind of hoping that bath isn't what was described here but I can't see any other use for it so...
Still kind of hoping the water was just too dirty and they didn't have anything else... which is also bad but...
Hoping the same 🙏
Well theyll have to explain it in family friendly showing anyway
Besides rhe other themes in this game are pretty hardcore on their own
deathbath
what are your guys theories about the winged lights?
Resh
Fallen spirits that were supposed to be reborn and were about to but got knocked out the sky during the calamity explosion thingy whatever. They are simply made of pure energy and have already had their memories wiped but didn't yet make it to physical form, which explains why they don't appear to be sentient and why they're all children.
they were said to be memories of someone close to skids but eh
I mean tbf if everything is a fallen part of the same abstract entity then yeah they probably would be?
uh.. no??
If you replay the first chapter even in this line, Lamed personally goes to each one and picks who really needs the treatment
Does she?
I assume she only lifted that one persons sleeve because she felt bad but by that logic she seems way less nice
then again i dont know what sort of treatment that would need if the one thing that gets rid of it is being hoarded
Yes, she passes couple of people in line until she stops by one, looks at their hands and signals to go inside
Ah i see
I miss subtle details like that
2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes
what happened to the ceiling of the hospital building + the rest of the city walls?
they're completely gone in the post-apocalypse
explode/corrode or smth
Tristan let me hold your hand and tell you there was “nuclear” explosion
Yuh im getting up in an hour and 30 min 🔥 gn chat
by that logic, all the pipes and structures in eden should've exploded too
and eden is even closer to the giant dark stone than wasteland is
.
also, some kinds of nuclear weapons do huge harm to people but limited damage to structures
neutron bombs are one such example
Well some kinda did but if you notice, everything close to ground pretty much survived so the shattering wave might have happen bit above the ground. The area was also under lot of attacks later, especiall from krill
she answers directly to resh, as shown in the trailer
i wouldn't trust her
Sorry i woke up i think ill just stay up atp
But what makes you think that? Is it from that one trailer where she walks up to him or
yes
and given that, in the base game, she is in charge of all other elders too; i bet her role is very important
Several years ago i said she was evil as a joke but now i think it might be true
/hj
Well maybe she had to lie to Resh so he wouldnt find out but seeing as his hand almost become a fist out of anger, we assume that Vault probably told him something he didnt want to hear
maybe she has to because if she doesnt he does something bad
Oh no please he better not harm her :C
with person like Resh i wouldnt be surprised if he threatened people to make them serve to him
Yeah he would probably have them yk gone but not as in banishment but a bad kind of gone
Definitely already did
How the hell does a huge chunk of a mask come off because it suspiciously doesnt look corrupt
but her behavior towards us in cutscenes goes a lot aganist of her being evil
She also seems to be watching stewie a lot from distance in first chapter, like, she was looking directly at them of all people for some reason
actually, can someone fill me in on the 'hospital'?
(the broken building in present Battlefield; the building next to the market square in past Battlefield)
since when has it been called that? is its function officially announced or deduced by fans?
did i miss something from ep1 and quest 1?
Yeah this is all true
No no but theres an oob you can go to that has like this pool? And there are people in the pool too (like actual citizens)
Dont tell me he.....
No.....
She doesnt have it chipped in movie yet! Theres just light scratches on places that later got eaten by corruption so i still think it is because of dark ess rather than physical harm
Por que no los dos (technically darkness feels physically painful anyway from the inside out probably)
Fandom decided to call it hospital because people line up there both in trailer and in game to get treatnent
how do we know they're lining up specifically for treatment?
i know the people waiting in line are coughing, but i also see folks at the marketplace doing that.
Because we saw lamed and acolytes going around people and checking their wounds in first chapter
We dont have concrete evidence of this location being linked to the hospital though, especially cuz it is accessed through whole different oob
True
It could be somethibg else entirely
i've heard about the OOB
if it really is the hospital, then how come there is dark water inside that people are standing in?
that does the opposite of healing!
Dude probably had a massive temper once the darkness got to him so i would not surprised
-does a big think-
Yeah she's concerned for the people and trying to cure them, but it seems like she's having to be the messenger for Resh and probably having to follow his orders when she doesnt want to but if she wants to not suffer in whatever Resh would do to her, she must do as he says, her life is on the line
Well who said they will actually get healed though, hm? It could be bait, getting rid off the ones who cant work anymore (oob area spoiler) ||they harvest their light through that huge darkstone above the pool to get atleast some use of them and the waste water is well… them||
can I join in?
I mean if your an elder having to follow orders from a mad king its either you do as he says or your life is gone
Thats the thing
The pool probably may or may not be in the hospital but refer to my previous message on it probably being insidious #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Also important fact is that unlike other elders, vault and isle did not get any colored light so she might not have any way of self defense either unless theres more magic wedont know about
i think, if any elder knows how to do magic, it has got to be lamed
And we saw what teal light from valley elders can do in concert version of the seed (instakill on impact)
oh oh! ask me, ask me!
Its like that moment when you’re friends with two people but both of them hate each other so you referee them 🧍♀️
Only 1000x worse
hey, hey! I have a theory!
You get the fire element, you two get wind, you get water, you get earth. And you? Uhhh, you can have this cool lamp.
purple light seems to be related to memory
Okay skybot you can say your theory
Then again shes probably way stronger than an average citizen so between her and resh she has a better chance
Plus shes probably OP from her intelligence and powers
Now i wonder how the elders are with all this happening, panicking, planning, going against each other
Family meeting am I right?
Then the room falls silent when Resh comes
wait, what!?
Yeah what
Got a link?
If you get hit by teal light during the concert it kills your light instantly and you start falling down the vortex
teal rapresent valley? /q
Elders when resh walks in
GOSH DANG IT BOBBY RESH
O. I thought I missed something and they did a joint teal wind twin laser attack.
Valley got teal light (air) from alef
If anyone is interested of seeing teal lights in action i can bring you to the concert myself
are you sure it is the teal light?
rather than some darkness-related stuff (because it glows in that color?)
i don't think light is supposed to hurt you like that
they're going to have an headache resh shaped /j
I forget concerts still happen lmao they have very substantial lroe
It looks very much like teal light with same animation as other colored lights in game
I might still have prophecy mural saved holdup.
this is very similar to the mural found in the sewers that stewie crawled into
Based on this daleth and lamed got straight up NOTHING 😭 💔
It was based on the four elements from the trials resh went through but did he basically pick and choose or something?
Also the lights seem to be falling in pairs as if two people were casting them individually from each other
Yah. But also, on 2ember waiting countdown screen in the theater, exact same krills.
By concert you mean Aurora concert yah? I didn't miss a new one, right? I kinda, payed attention, but only watched it once.
Im tempted to make another reference from this but i think it would get beaned
Not really tbh
...
I mean....its similar to the murals that are also everywhere else in the game.
Also same krills
the bottom half of prophecy mural + top half of sewer mural is identical
depicts vault top floors + eden
wait that's almost the same mural from the ep
Whoa...my AI mind is blown!
Aurora concert yes. I have the wings, i already brought Eve there to see it, I can bring more loreheads, just say so
Lmao it is
Its the same tunnel the old dude ushered the kid into
I also documened the concert here but it is only photos, experiencing it “irl” is whole different experience #lore-discussion-spoilers message
whats a blorbo?
Ok im going to bed. Don't talk too much prophecy mural without my presence.
Its one of my favorites :)
Oh we will absolutely do that just to make you angry /j
Resh is my blorbo
that's diabolical
Resh is just a silly billy
To be fair, we don't know that for sure.
🕯️
daily flavor text
But the final shattering memory……
Well, this chat is gonna explode again in 50 minutes
you know where to find me if anything needs to be answered
Im probably gonna go back online now
my take away from episode 2: the wax/light we collect is literally just the spice from dune
WHAT
yeah ive mentioned how similar i found sky and dune to be
Very similar….
The showing is way sooner than i expected it starts in 2 minutes
it did that with previous screening, it says the time too early for some reason
OMG BRIEF ||VALLEY ||SHOT
Well guys what did you think
||Taught us a lot on how the culture was like and also told me that power outages frequently occur once the crystal keeps getting more and more overpowered (think charging a phone with a laptop charger), allowing dark creatures to come through||
||as far as I know based on how those soldiers immediately responded its probably a typical tuesday||
i didnt catch first few minutes (busy buying manatee stuff lol), im waiting for reprise
wait it actually started early?
the credits sound is interesting this time, it sounds almost like something made of stone shuffling around
but that surprise ||valley ||shot was unexpected lol i was like wait a minute
6 minutes until next screening, run ash (meditate by second lamp to see it)
Wait where
||so after resh caused an increase of dark creatures a lot of them thrive in dark environments so those soldiers came to do pest control||
||there were the trumpet statues you can see when entering colliseum! turns out they do serve as alarm system too!||
Don't count on it..
||Its mostly just wholesome 100 manta content though||
So adorable though
thats not ominous
potato turned into potato sack also the|| toothless refference lol||
was so invested in what was happening, the credits starting rolling catching me off guard
Like nooooo😭
||Curious how much time has passed though with the manatee looking so much bigger
||
It got so fat 😭 💕
iirc it said somewhere the movie portrays last years of kingdom rather than days?
heeheehee
OMG, will try catch that extra time
auto correct went rapid
oh oh! ask me, ask me!
skybot turned into michael jackson
||it happens for split second after the horns start to blow|| its there literally for like second or two only
||the checkers scene was surprisingly funny||
Crap idk why i replied to you sorry
2 minutes until reprise, run if you didnt see it yet!
im happy to have seen the first sceening, even if i stayed up so late. Its not like im gonna watch it 7 times over again throughout the day with friends
||I noticed the horns blowing but I was too busy looking at those statues rather than the envionrment around it
keeping all eyes out for next time
||
||also stewie the little chemist showing us that wax pieces collecting and making candle is canon in lore too, not just game mechanic||
Other than that this episode was less insane than the first one for some reason
Hopefully third is more crazy and lasts longer
chapter 2 opening words
i mean theres the candlemaker in aviary, but we dont see molds there so…
||So was that light those machines trapped or just wax?||
||nevermind i believe wax is just another source of light as it would be from animals and etc||
OH, I must've just missed that text got in just as the first scene played
Mold items were probably hard to have as an in hame asset with everything else there
||krill most likely go pspspsps
||
that manatee is so fat omg i wanna squish
||the soldiers on their way to fight a bunch of dragons on protocol for the umpteenth power outage||
||idk what's going on through these guys head knowing they have to try fight a dark dragon that can fly, blend the dark envionrment around them, 10x their size, and can charge at insane speeds. We can see in trailers how they destroy soldiers at ease and will see more of it probably next episode. The Ruler is putting wayy too much high expectations on all thse guys 😭||
It surprised me but i got cute aggression from it

||VALLEY TRUMPETERS!!||
||Adds to my thought that valley folks were probably very fit to be soldiers/in the military||
||It looks way too close to be valley, the collisem would be in the way in that perspectivey, but not 100% sure
||
Well, what can you do
||well they were healthy unlike wasteland folks because they had money to get proper treatment||
Throw spear and hope it dies
Krills do have enemy NPC mindset, hide behind rock and it forgets you exist
||anyone else think it’s Eden? Just before the storm?||
||HDJSHSKWGSLSGKEHAAIWNS THE MANATEE
||
not manta my bad brain fried from staying past bedtime
what do YOU think?
Another good episode
is it still 15 mins?
||I mean it’s gotta be Eden, the mountain shape, the ominous piece of tech above.. like I’m not reaching here right??! The place the quests are in is def Eden in the past||
Not sure but for some reason it felt shorter than the first episode to me
Idk why
||Are the guards going to hunt the manatees as a search for light source? ☹️||
BTW we also got the 2nd quest today, got some stuff in there to check out
i was away so i couldn't watch the premiere 😭 next one probably
|| yes, it is. The giant blue diamond/shard/crystal we see at the end of ep1 is what see at the end of Eden (when you see it at Eden its red) ||
||I hope not but given the adverse impact the excessive light collection has on the environment, and how the light is mentioned to be fading, I do think it’s a possibility||
||that crystal keeps having power outages smh||
that's so sad
||perhaps but Shepherds probably keep the manatees for that reason though||
||soldiers probably target threats more||
MY GOD I KEEP SAYING MANTA BUT I MEAN MANATEE PLEASE
|| I think the manatees are just the livestock of the… whatever his name is. And the one that (Do i have memory loss??) stole ||
Stern shepherd and the dusk ember that people think is hopeful steward
||on another point, has anyone else notice how the toy maker is sick and the new quest guy (forgot his name sadly) also has the injured pose, what on earth could you possibly need so much light that it’s making people sick?||
I assume the giant crystal, which later explodes.
thanks that one emote where your character slumps
||Resh the king went nutsy coocoo when the darkness corruption rotted him and hurt him in the process too so he didnt know when to stop hoarding light IMO||
||its making him sick too he just doesnt care and cant stop, dude had no logical reason to hoard all that light||
Sorry @unreal wren i was replying to you
probably some sunk cost fallacy stuff
owo?
Yeah that too its way harder to clean up at this stage
owo
Should we keep having spoiler tags cus it think spoilers are allowed here
yea idk
Yeah ill just drop them then
I came straight here after watching and playing through both of the new stuff so
yea same
Welp im gonna go to bed for real happy loreing chat
Anyways to recap my experience with the season so far: I’m excited and happy that we are getting more lore about before the kingdom fell! It’s so interesting to see the difference between the spirits and the lively citizens
ight ima go do the dailies, o7 Happy theorizing
Spoiler tags are not required, but you may personally choose to use spoiler tags if you would like to do so.
Boatgirl you woke me up
thank you though
Oh heck, sorry! ...I'm impressed by your ability to fall asleep in 4 minutes
So who knew… the King is an absolutely sweaty candle farmer…
So if those tiny ones collect fallen light…
a lot of people give flak (understandably so) for the ancestors for what they do to light creatures.... but the soldiers are being literal cannon fodder, the best they can do is literally distracts krills and sacrifice themselves to let others escape unless they have some other weapon against krills
I think these are just massive light collectors… and it seems like you need that light to wash away darkness that builds, so no wonder people and animals are getting sick
wha.....
Begone Skybot, this isn’t your domain
We dont have to use spoiler tags
oops sorry, read further down and everyone answered the question
I’m not using spoiler tags, if you’re in here, you don’t care about spoilers at this point.
Sagomay sent a message saying no spoiler tags are allowed
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I just know some people like to use spoiler tags in respect for those to not get flashbanged by pictures or spoilers they haven't seen yet
Still that is a massive flex to candle grind so hard you start a war over it.
so megabird is like the pollinator of the sky world but ancestors keep harvesting all the nectar for themselves, killing off all the light ecosystems and letting the dark take over
they were too greedy farming too much candles
well we now know where skykids candle hoarding habits come from
So all those statues of the king everywhere… they aren’t decorations… they’re collectors…
gw used to have a lot of light then
Also I weirdly like them having to forge it in a mold… kinda makes me wish we get a rework to candles where we collect wax and bring it back to molds for candles.
Those soldiers who deal with krills are heros in disguise of dealing with something as deadly as that to protect the last city, everyone's lives are on their hands
at this point knowing that the towers repel darkness (and absorbs light), maybe the the giant crystal in eden does just that and the ruler prioritizes the capital over everything, the ruler is just at their final clutches
now the mystery is why it exploded
is the early screening everytime 15mins after reset?
jokes aside krills being lured to light vould make them vuldeable (i have no idea how to spell this) to another kind of stick - a firewrok staff, just imagine stewie going absolute MVP spamming fireworks to blind the krill
potatosackatee
There’s definitely fan animations of people thinking the eye is the weak spot
i mean the episode doesnt "officially air" until next hour
However, by breaking and entering examining the room from the inside and avoiding security asking nicely, you can watch it no problem.
not sure, I thought maybe too much but we see it struggling with little energy in the show
even though the ruler is seen as a bad person, at least in episode 1 where they are seen in front of the crystal powering it up that could be them seemingly trying to keep the power on to stop the darkness coming in. So every time they try push it into power, and with each time they do it, it eventually gets too much and becomes unstable
it's like a those graph chart [90% I got the wrong name for it, you see these charts in machinery things] where the lines are stable until something happens like being pushed to its absolute limits, causing it to go unstable and the readings go all over the place 📈 📉, perhaps it is that scenario
Nine Coloured Deer is the only thing that has actively scare away krills
but that's a collab thing so not exactly canon
THOUGH, in Seed of Hope's memories we do see a solider had stabbed a smaller krill right through the middle of its body killing it, but they all struggle when the larger krill comes in, only throwing spears at it to no use when trying to save Seed of Hope- been 2023 since I've seen it though, so might misremember some things
looks like the season quests are both sequels and prequels to the story, heck they even actually be memories given by the Child
I think they’re purely prequels… 1 the manatee is way smaller. 2 the vines grown are shown to be grown in chapter 2.
prequels to each chapter, sequels to the preceding
Oh, maybe… we’d need to see chapter 3 to sorta confirm that’s the ordering.
Additionally, the Toymaker was alive in quest #1 ||and in Chapter One… well…||
It is interesting even after his death, his toys still circulate in trade
makes me happy I've been playing the quest first before the episode shows
You really should. Granted makes me wonder who we are then…
My guess is a sort of singular starting point that branched into an infinite number of directions born of a choice of a man too obsessed with the light and keeps it all to himself. But that hurts my head so my lore explanation is we crawled out of the sewers.
or just the memory lantern letting us experience things our way
got this imagery in my head of part 2 having the same season format, where we're slowly ruining the kingdom as our sky kid in dawn ember's prequel flashbacks
also every ancestor NPC bowing to you
It’s still implied these are memories… they did happen…
Granted, this is something from vault, and vault is the most magically confusing area ever…
think of Vault as a large memory database
right now however, we're accessing the memories of someone so close to the Elder herself that her memory lantern is our guide
speaking of elders, this is the 2nd explicit (by being visible in-game) season guide with ties to an elder (third if you aparently count flight)
What about nesting?
what players call ||wax|| is officially called ||pieces of light||
They’re motes of light.
...the first explicit
||at the beginning of the episode, when the soldiers are planting down devices to harvest light, stewie told her manatee to hide||
||only after the soldiers are gone, that she deems it safe, and whistles for it to come out||
||yes, the soldiers will probably kill light creatures.||
I just want you to feel you're doing well
Players would too if they got wax for it…
???
||keeping the castle afloat||
Guys… I have a new idea of how we can get wax…
appropriate response from skybot
Ok that’s just foul-
honestly if I didn't know any better, it looks like every time Resh aurafarms activates the Eden diamond, he's trying to pull in more light than he should
Bro is candle grinding so hard he’s willing to kill everyone for it. Gotta respect the grind.
the place is basically lit up by the towers too which makes you wonder how bad has it been that the King makes an artificial day/night cycle for the Last City
king is really trying to get those final droplets out of the bottle, surely that will save everyone
I really need to see memes of the King candle grinding so hard with everyone dead around him.
He’s trying to buy his own elder mask
No he’s just trying to afford the next TS.
i fear the flying toe is the child in this context
also I'm still jealous of Stew's hair stylist
it's interesting how wax seems to be uh precipitation or stuff regularly sent down from the sky
Where else would it come from?
Bro he’s MAKING the travelling spirits 😭😭
No, he’s just trying to afford one. You see he was a bit lazy and he realized he needs about 720 candles in 3 days so….
I mean on one hand, the plan is working as the soldiers were able to harvest wax... the other hand is the SIXTY MILLION KRILLS
Whatever, go my krills
Yea but he finally bought the shoes from the TS so it’s worth it…
Unfortunately he couldn’t afford the cape so he has to consult the Eden shard his bank account to bail him out.
But there’s probably no lasting impact of his choices…
Resh's death cycle:
- activate diamond
- keep krills at bay my guards
- finally part of GW got light again
- go, my guards
- oh no light isn't enough
- repeat
resh's L
If he just swiped his credit card he would’ve been fine, seen people do it all the the time in Sky.
The king doing aurafarm and waxfarm all at once is really outta my mind
Multitasker
Truly the king we need
~~they're doing all that™ to avoid crashing out /j ~~
something has been bugging me
in episode 1 and quest 1 ingame, steward meets the manatee for the first time in different situations
which one is canon? or are there really just different timelines
my theory goes for a pre/sequel situation, it's still our boi's memories, modified so we are able to join in while also explaining the changes for each chapter
popular theory is that we are being projected into stewies memory and we are them during the quests and i guess it being just record of memory could make space for different outcomes / the memory could be fuzzy after so many years so it is filling itself with our actions
wait it lasted even less then before
the ep was always 10 mins or they shortened it
first chapter was 13
Dog, I NEED to know what this man is doing
Is he responsible for all of this? Why the Kingdoms and the Realms look this way? The war? The countless lives lost???
I think the closest answer to that question I guess is aurafarming to keep the lights on and harvest the resulting lights
Well he’s doing a PRETTY BAD JOB at it!
dude got no candles give him a break
th npcs got lot more talkative in second quest, they sneeze and say brr because it is raining, it almost sounds like clear words now sometimes
if you stand near the blacksmith stall you can hear them clearly (i have music on low cuz i prefer the ambience sounds more)
ch2 is 9 minutes
i wonder if at the end of the season we'll get a full 1 hour experience
not one hour but defo long ep i hope
if the third chapter is another 9-15 minute episode then probably more like a 50-70 minute movie then
We have your diagnosis on chapter 2, Lorechat... I'm afraid it's peak
Not gonna mention anything about it yet but wow that was amazing... I need chapter 3 in my life right now
that is if chap 3-4 are both 10 min each
anyway does them manta-patterned
fish have names or should I call them manafish
i need that part so bad.
Yep, i feel that the chapter 2 is like a lot of serotonin injections to us and for stewie, before everything turned into chaos and despair
i got one (1) valley scene and im happy lmao
Eden gives me so much creepy vibes, whatever the king is up to, it doesnt feel right
I agree, I reckon it's all chaos from here
Tissues at the ready!
krills are soo going to show up
Aha, so it wasn’t just me! That’s so cute, I love that there’s so much more life going into these spirits.
you can hear the granpa coughing too when you are near him
... mantas and manatees exist in real life, you know? so fish are fish
true, but what would their name
Folks, I found out why episode 2 feels so short
…it’s because it really is shorter. It’s ~9 mins, compared with episode 1’s ~13 mins
I just call them ‘light fish’
:3c
i will do each chapter deep dive like with trailer once it gets less crowded there and the camera prop bug gets fixed
OOH.
I find it interesting how you can hear each guard’s lumbering footsteps, whereas every other spirit seems to be light on their feet.
Omg the lore on this episode! Its to much 😵💫
So thats why the world is dying, they collect every light they can and the world is fading like we take every ressource of our planet 👀
And wow the beginning of THE combat!
its so joeover
So what, they just run out of light and Eden fade? 🤔
no, I believe if they run out of light, we get the Shattering
So, the 4 episode😆
Its been twice shown the light getting dimmer
wait, is that the Wasteland Temple entrance or the Graveyard -> Battlefield entrance?
@muted salmon The graveyard!
Wasteland temple entrance
You see the gate, the gate switch, the stairs, the Resh statues
through the eyes of a child song is set there iirc
its also where once you turn on the light and the gate opens there'll be like 3 krills roaming
makes me wonder now how they activate the gate entrance
Gate switch, like we players do
thing's not glowing yet the gate is open though, so probably opened from the inside?
also, I never realized the entire staircase is a pyramid, with the top steps turned to make a diamond o.o
For now they still have light/power
Oh my god, the parallels…insane..
for now they have light to open the gate after yk they dont
This hurts.
im so excitef to watch ep2
It was a very lore episode 😆
We see they collect all the littles lights, before the world can heal himself, maybe why all this darkness
We see the making of an candle
And the beginning of the battle, and the castle losing is power again and maybe for good
every time the castle loses power, Resh raises up his arms and an increasingly futile attempt to draw in aura light is made
next ep is gonna be baad like storm's coming
...oh, that explains old man recluse toppling a collector down: a poor attempt to release light
the soldiers: oh goodness here we go again, not another blackout
plus when light faded a lot of focus were on manatee/birds light nothing bad would happen to them
we have deadfish
Also did you love the little moments like the oldies playing checkers and one of them cheated when the other was distracted, and the merchant playing with the toy a lil
ahah that was funny
Ikr I love that one 😭😂
there was a doubletake for a split sec too
TRUE HAHAHAHA I died at this 😂😂
The life being breathed into this world cannot go unnoticed.
I swear, this is the happiest chapter ever. Well, that's what you call "a calm before storm" i guess
I'm not ready for 3,,,
its not going to be a coincidence krill iap is going to drop next ep aka when krill supposedly appears
we need to get SO many tissues
I guess the river of angst is chapter 3
'And then the Krill nation attacked'
Clearly because they have light inside, they will be eat by the krill 👀😆
artists are gonna rise up after that ep throwing angst
It is going to be so brutal, I fear.
wait no it cant be chapter 3 where krills attack, where's the martial law sequence
I find it curious as to how long this has been going on for. The gathering of light to power the blue crystal/darkness repellers. The cracks in the piping and the fact the kingdom sounded the horns as they dimmed kinda shows that this has happened for awhile.
probably long enough that the refugee zone is called the Last City
Nice shot
next ep is prob be abt shattering and i need to mentally prepare
I think what would be the most insane thing to happen is if there were a single spoken line.
can I just say I love the entire timeskip section of the quest since it explains the shepherd just not minding about this child with a cured manatee
Guess they accepted that the manatee is adopted
Maybe we will have an answer for the part 2 ! We will follow the dawn kid, so more in the past!
I'm sure with a really more respect for the creature and light in this time
They likely don't know about the cure I think. So seeing a big healthy manatee probably doesn't link it to the previous sick one that was stolen. (Even if it does have a prosthetic now)
Guess the shepherd just had a memory issue
people in that city fr dont mind that
or maybe the reason it has a prosthetic at the same spot where it was because he's in the know and let Stewie?
He's got a flock/herd/pod of flying marshmellows to tend to. Busy man.
True....flying marshmallows 😭
ig so otherwise they would look for it
true animal caretakers know if their animal is taken care of I guess?
I'm sure he don't really care because he was a sick manatee and he was gonna take the job done anyway 😆
at least its not bird in a jar
I wonder if we are going to see giant warriors like Waste Elder. The weapons in the battlefield are massive, so there had to be a few of them
maybe ancestors in darkstone-powered iron man suits (joke)
Maybe he's just a flock of chibis in a big costume.
Wasteland Elder is just a flock of chibis in a Kingpin formation
Sounds like a fun time (Clock of chibis)
that's just 12 chibis in a circle
though.. now that I think about it, where are the other Elders? you'd have thought you've seen the Wasteland Elder at least... we have signs of Valley ancestors within the Last City too
A big guy like Wastland Elder might not be one to walk around a cramped shanty town. He's likely stationed somewhere. As to the others, it's hard to say.
Maybe they all live elsewhere, or somewhere higher up in the city due to status?
mh, they prob are somewhere in the city like located in a place or smth considering the shattering's last memory
i like to think that while the situation in the city is dire, its still considered relatively safe (as long as the towers are working anyways) and largely defensive soldiers are deployed there
the more advanced and powerful troops such as the ones with the wasteland elder are in other parts of wasteland combating biggers threats or defending key locations such as the light generators, the light is still coming from somewhere and most of it probably isn't from the city
wait i just remember, if cyan is valley's color (?) does that mean that and gw were at war against eo
idrk i'm looking mostly at aurora's song
this is why we live like heathens, stealing from the trees of Eye of Eden
asking here bc i dont want to spoil anyone - but what's supposed to happen when i deep call the butterflies in the recluse's quest? they keep just lifting me up and then dumping me back on the floor. if i'm supposed to get onto the roof i can't
I think it's just a lil bonus thing
ah okay i get it now, thank you
i somehow missed the prompts on the plants and couldnt figure out what the heck to do
I weirdly like the lack of star prompts everywhere for this.
oh i know there was no star prompts, i just didnt get close enough to the plants for the action prompt to show up i suppose
Yea, I kinda like just… sorta figuring out how to do the thing I’m supposed to do
the game does act like something should happen when you call the butterflies which confused me more, ha
I was confused for a minute like where I would get the seeds until I climbed up the bench xd
So far, the handholdiness of this season has been pretty okay. Not too handholdy
I guess
tbh I can see the potential of players getting lost bc it wasn't very clear where exactly you get the seeds from
But that’s the fun of it. Just putting two and two together
it can be hard to find a balance between leading players and letting them figure it out themselves
Yes, but when told what to do and exactly how, I gotta ask why I’m even there…
It would work better if once you enter the area, there are vines right next to the pipe exit, a prompt should show up immediately letting you know you have to get the seeds from there
This is a good way, let people naturally see the prompt, then get that “aha” moment.
Or a cutscene shot focusing on one of those sparkly vines
it would be nice if they made the vine prompts slightly harder to miss yeah, that would be a good compromise without using stars to remove the "puzzle" entirely
Yee cuz there are two vines just right next to the pipe, should be the first thing highlighted
it will help you reach seeds on the plants up there during quest
The first one that I got the seeds from was actually one at the far back bc I was lost lol
Still leagues better than “oh call and now literally every intractable you need to touch is visible” rather if they have to, make it POIs instead of direct locations.
Also where does fake water fit into the lore of Sky?
What
is that aviary? what the heck
Yea, water is fake… it’s not real.
Nah its just an oob thing. No big deal
maybe thats how the golden wasteland became a wasteland. all their water was fake
Good lore reason
fake water was said to be what the ice rink had
Something that confuses me is what is the timeline like between the season quests and the movie- they're so intertwined with each other
That’s correct. Before abyss and aka diving, it was fake water
It was used because otherwise they couldn’t have their cool going underwater ice rink thing, granted we kinda lost the whole reflective aspect on the inside due to it
i think in game fish had names, like butterfly fish and knife fish but i don't remember which is which
This has nothing to do with lore as it is just game background and you are not supposed to be there normally at first place.
it's closer to 9
it kinda looked to me at first that Stew just abandoned the other fish there like "alr have some light, screw the other one!"
maybe they cant afford waste more + the fish can heal from each other light ig
yeah but you can see that one fish was slightly moving while the other one was not so i assumed it's dead
like the two embers like one is helped to be alive and the other one is dead get it
Fesh
the kid is collecting wax to forge a candle, and skids farm for wax to forge candles, the kid needs a token to exchange for items and skids need to earn money to buy IAPs
Ok so question, (tag me in the response if you don't mind) anyone know what the bats help by Samekh are? I wanna say cricket but the handles seem too long. So then I'd say paddles, but there aren't any boats. Please this is really annoying me. I thought this chat would know `_('-' )_/'
fireball
The tools they use are for sports, however the real life counterpart is unknown.
lacrosse bat!
Where was it confirmed that?
Oh my god, our age old question has been answered. All these times we've been asking what are the Spirits doing to our candles whenever we trade...
Based on Two Embers chapter 2, they just use them as a house decoration 💀
atp they're building houses with them
These spirits are filling their houses with candles. I thought they were eating candles or something
Idk it just looks like a lacrosse bat ig lmao
(Good morning chat)
It def looks like a lacrosse bat and that's what I assumed they were referencing however I have not seen a dev state it as confirmed. They were stated to be used for sports that I know.
tbh the candles do turn onto light as we give them away so they could still eat these
I just know Aurora Guide is hoarding loads of candles because of that ridiculously overpriced Outfit of hers
Don't lacrosse bats have a net on them though? That's what I don't get.
outside of cricket bat (which i doubt it is cuz its shorter), it looks a bit like first lacrosse bats
you think classism was a thing and it was based on how many candles someone had stashed in their house?
especially this middle one
The people of this kingdom probably use candles based on how much wax (aka light motes) are available
Which is very scarce
But as decoration it might give comfort since all it does it wash over illness without doing anything to get rid of it (weak)
Probably…
I asked where it was confirmed, not what it looked like.
Yes. The more candles you are hoarding, the richer you are
I still don't see it sorry. There isn't the net, it's just flat. I get where you're coming from I just don't see it
Some of those ancestors were def hoarding some candles for sure
nowhere, pure observation, however it was said to resemble bats from ancient sport and lacrosse comes from 12th century
<_<
Just imagine visiting their basement and it's filled to the brim with candles.
Sassy Drifter would definitely be the richest of them all because of how often she comes as a TS
I think the trial spirit was hoarding candles. Idk why but they seem like they would.
another possibility is hurling (do not mistake it with curling)
but same as cricket bat, it is way shorter
bro likes to watch us suffer through trials, theyd do something like that
Yeah I feel like those guys would be a massive troll in Spirit Community.
"where my candles goin"
the trials spirit with a conveniantly candle shaped throat: *swallows hard "I dunno"
cricket bat looks like this but they are under meter long
Man i keep thinking about what the vault elder and tiny alef’s interactions would have been like
Right shape but yeah they're too short
@round salmon
Don't ping me pls
bean?
sorry, thought you were okay with it based on what you said yesterday
Alef in tiny baby voice: "Dah dee?"
Vault elder: "...DO I LOOK LIKE-"
The handle is the right length actually, but the actual bat part is too long
ok now revrite it
because it included other word for dad
I was fine with it because I asked for nest tours the other day. I'm fine with pings when it comes to replies but I 'd rather not be full on @ for discussions. Anyway, you guys have fun loreing.
there
Thanks!
:( why does the internet always ruin nice things
humanity as a whole
and thats why we have a game about environmentalism and trying to remind humans to NOT ruin nice things
@narrow marsh does the artbook mention anywhere what sport are valley elders bats based on other than that they are based on ancient sport?
Thanks for helping btw 😄
because this is family friendly server and that word is often used in not family friendly enviroment
ong just thought they were playing advanced hocky or something
Spoiler question ahead:
why did the reactor went out and why were people this time scared? It happenend already in the first chapter?
fireball because they yeet a fireball
i would like to help ore but unfortunately i dont own the art book because im from europe
i just wanna make funny vine reference that featured a cute smol child :(
rewrite changing a few words
Nah it's fine, I might look into this more
i did 😔
that diamond is only source of light in last city (as we cant see the sun anywhere), once it goes blackout, it becomes dark very fast and with darkness come krill
it is likely going blackout every often because of power outages and resh (the king) pumping way too much juice into it which is likely also reason hy shattering happened
Thank youuu
And shattering describes like the process of darkness taking over?
Or what was it again
still makes me wonder what exactly are krill. They don't seem to be properly living things, as they make mostly mechanical sounding noises like theyre artificially created.
hi Izashiki
Maybe in part 2 theyll show his interactions with them if hes speculated to be the second ember
I have a feeling that due to proximity and just a hunch that she loved that kid so much
based on the concept (and live game) murals, they were created by accident in treasure reef when ancestors experimented on light creatures, i have document talking about that with pictures too if you wanna take a look
Resh and his dead parental figures that he is more dead than
Where?
underwater
Sure thing
chapter called couple of years before the shattering https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KYP1CBpjMFgEueJlBwNPAKxASt5bAS8qfGoCp5j3B6g/edit?usp=sharing
In a galaxy far far away...
