I could imagine that the coin is worth like at least a thousand bucks. And we just used it to buy a tea 💀
"Oh hey, that's a cool serving plate" "what do you mean??? This is a penny"
Also! There is no soul cycle beam above Eden
That's probably because there's no soul cycle yet?
Pretty much a penny, wonder how they got copper from.
Definitely from the Forest. A lot of Miner spirits originated there.
i am personally of the belief it's only that large as a game mechanic so we can see our skykid holding the thing
it's probably regular coin sized
Oh so we're the issue
The coin is normal sized, we're just too small
You do have a point it does appear somewhat smaller when not held.
still can't imagine carrying a lot of currency that big and made out of metal though so maybe that one coin is worth a lot
this tea better be premium made with herbs imported from a distant region or whatever
There’s always been a soul cycle, I’m thinking resh cut it off and that’s why darkness is really starting to spread
I would make another joke about aurafarming but one joke is enough
Not really valid argument because this pinned message exists. #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Soul cycle existed way before eden was built.
Its propably being redirected to the diamond instead of megabird.
Soul cycle, yes, but it was more of a natural rebirth cycle. What I'm going off of is "what if the ancients were forcing the light release and then not allowing it to return to megabird"
This one, yeah. Not enough of the light was returning to megabird to stop the darkness from approaching
Thats the same thing.
Not exactly, the light cycle was "creature goes to eden, light is released, returns to mb, and then returns to land as new life", but this is "creature is harvested away from eden, their light is captured, and used for mechanisms rather than returning to the light cycle."
You propably dont understand.
Each light creature exists for some time, born from megabird/the light. After end of their life comes close, they return to the light, they become one with it. After some time, the light produces a new creature, either same or in evolved and more complex form (butterfly to bird, bird to manta as seen in concept art). Light is shared thing among all light creatures, including skids and elders, it is one big hot pot.
If you kill a light creature and harvest its light, it can never come back to the light. Only unnatural death leaves bones (also explained in concept art).
Eden is build on sacred mountain that was used by light creatures to be reborn.
What Resh likely does is to stop any light from ascending and becoming one with Megabird and this hot pot of “melted” light creatures is fed to the giant darkstone instead, through those huge pipes. We can see embers of light rapidly flying through it in one of trailers and also the light is seeping through the cracked pipes in part 1 trailer (you can see it in background when stewie is climbing the big pipes).
I think we are both saying the same thing lol. I think the latter part of your message is what's currently happening, I don't consider the "harvesting" to be the same as the "cycle" if that makes sense
and there's nothing stopping people from wanting to be considerate and keeping spoilers away from the public regardless of that announcement
Yours was poorly worded then because I understood it whole differently.
I'm not entirely sure how I could have worded it better, considering I just used essentially a short form of what you said, but.. Alright 😅
It is still not valid argument to be brought. You can be considerate in general chat too by using spoiler tags. Season chat has been doing that for a long time and rarely anyone went to chat here in lorechat.
hello lorechat I used to be a regular here what have I missed
I loved that episode so much that I can't lore yet
embers
Flood of spam
I love two embers sm
Me too
The Resh appearance had me giggling and kicking my feet
It’s genuinely so cool that we’re finally seeing more lore regarding Eden and Resh
OK looks like my prediction is accurate for episode 1
The call to action may actually be the manta and sickness
oh wait thing i've been meaning to throw in here
someone else somewhere pointed out that majority of the roaming npcs have the same mask i wonder what yall have to say about that
I'm hoping we see more about the pipes, especially where they come from, as even from the trailers, having them as transporting motes of light, seemingly to Eden, they are so prominent in wasteland
Idk I thought one of the NPCS was dead earlier because of the way they were lying on the ground
Is it the similar mask to the Rhythm guide?
Could be that the Rhythm troupe originated from Wasteland, similar to our theories that the Duets spirits did too
It was here in lorechat before the flood and we pretty much agreed it is status symbol, aka that they belong to wasteland.
yea makes sense
Owl twins are from valley, iirc it is even directly said somewhere
what's interesting is that the common mask is the one from scolding student which i guess could also imply they're a wastelander
(Valley and wasteland used to be one realm but they did originate from THE valley part)
Ah probably in the Performance season blog or patch notes
Have y'all noticed...shard guide (or diamond? )
is spinning and spreading light parts...is it interacting with this season
Rhythm in light awaits I think was called the winter season if I recall correctly
Wait I'll take a video
does it not do that normally
it's actually below 15 minutes
it's ≈ 12-13
Scolding student makes sense to come from wasteland just from the krilly attitude
It does?
Idk I felt something different it might just be me tho
ok yeah it was a lot more subtle back then i suppose
Mini storm
I mean wouldn't it boom boom soon in animation? Who knows maybe this one will do that too for us
a shard falls into cinema
wowie our two embers screening just became 4D
What if all realms turned to mini eden because of another explosion
Absolute cinema if there was a red shard event flying out of the screen into the cinema beach
As if the one hitting concert hallwas not enough
Consider it a "reconstruction"
Who are those last three people
genually confused
we'd repair that during tte p2
Just random spirits
the og concept has them with occupations
Those all come from concept art
Yes I know, but I asked if anyone had perhaps theories
Unused spirits from concept art. There was whole text about those three being unused in wireframe gallery.
The bearded guy was supposed to be like lawyer or something simmilar
As an owner of the artbook I should really go read it again
Lore chat is popping after AGES
as an owner of the artbook i should really go read it in general tbh. all i've done for the past year is lend it out to people. have barely had it on my own bookshelf for a consecutive week
Lend it ?? It's so precious that I keep it in the box always
i have lots of artist friends who like sky's artstyle. they're really careful with it so it's okay!
I wish I had friends that play sky too
"wait, wait please, it's free, it's free, please hear me out PLEASE" -common phrase in the vocabulary of any sky player
I don't understand, the artbook is expensive
i mean the game
Aaaah I get it now, yea
man i should really refresh my sky lore, haven't really done so since 2021
Friendly reminder that lot of stuff was discussed into deep here before yall arrived, search tab is your friend
How? The episode released few hours ago and I didn't see that much of discussion since this morning (if you talk about the animation)
Couple of stuff discussed here was to some degree discussed before (yes even the money)
The token? I saw that
We do have alphabet posted here.
Omg so much lore

thank you
I'm planning a short comic and I need some help if any loreheads are down. So Flight Guide is the apprentice of the Prairie Elder right, well I need to come up with a way of showcasing that, does anyone have ideas or way I could go about that? Thank you in advance.
It was only mentioned once in flight guide introduction, there is no other info really. Both care deeply about light creatures and thats pretty much it.
We do have slightly more info about teth - nesting guide interactions than that.
I know it was mentioned there, found out about it a week ago thankfully and was happily surprised. Also funny you mention nesting guide, they will also be in the comic.
Yeah nesting guide was student of teth, one of nesting… spirits… has photo of them and same photo is on the wall in nesting workshop #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Luca I mean this in the nicest way possible but I know these things I wouldn't have brought them up if I didn't /nm
I just need some ideas to bounce around with.
Just want to chime in and say that while it can be helpful to look up certain keywords if you’re wondering about specific lore topics, that it is absolutely okay to continue past conversations, start new conversations about the same topics, ask the same questions, and send in your own insight about these topics that took place in the past.
This channel has seen 6 whole years worth of discussions
. You’ll find tons of information, but everyone is welcome to share anything lore related here.
We can’t expect anyone to be familiar with the 6 year history of this channel, and restarting old conversations might just bring new perspectives to the lore as we now see it.
If you have same questions asked here every week, sometimes even twice a week, you simply learn to redirect people to old messages. There exists couple of copypasta links masterposts in this chat for this very same reason
So apparantly
The eden elder is a menace to sky society?
Basically tbh
I have this message which feels relevant rn: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Wasnt thwre some theory about the gw elder fighting and defesting the eden elder
There was at one point because of a glitched mural in sanctuary!
Obviously it’s not true since the mural is long fixed
I’ll find a pic on the wiki holdon
Still unsure about it. While some of his actions is really beyond comprehension, the concept art said that throughout his sacrifice is the one that brought the new generation (skykids) to be born. So, we still can't judge him tbh
You can redirect people, that’s completely fine as long as there still remains room for conversations about those things. Even if it’s about more widely known topics - that’s pretty much the point I tried to convey
Im curious why we dont have an eden elder
Woahh Okay maybe some fire force type mentality. Destroying old to get new
I think the Eden Elder/Ruler/Resh had an Anakin Skywalker situation
good then evil (due to greed, not actually evil) then good
we shall wait and see if this is ever revealed in part 2 of the two embers
HERE IT IS
it’s removed tho, replaced by jellyfish
i doubt it’s canon anyway
Can someone send the intro text that was in the movie? I kinda missed it.
Where they talk about darkness and light
I have the feeling that it tells more than we think
The point you tried to convey missed the point after start of first sentence tbh. Rest of it sounded a bit opposite.
People tend to ask lot of same questions every often here and us lore seniors are kinda tired having to explain it from basics every time, thats why we rely on those copypastas and tell people to do research from past messages posted here.
Theres also ton of new messages since season release and it is very hard to keep track with loremoths to answer all thequestions and clearing up misinformation. Thats why I pointed out lot of stuffws discussed here in detail in the past. Not all of it is pinned so use of search bar is necessary.
I don’t believe it ‘missed the point’, but different opinions can exist and that is fine.
I’ll emphasise that you can redirect other members to past conversations, but that does not mean members aren’t allowed to continue these conversations, to ask questions, to be curious, to provide their own insight and to start a whole new conversation.
To reiterate on what Sagomay already explained, letting people wonder and ponder and think about things that are new to them but old to us is part of the Sky experience. And this channel should, and will allow for them to have that space.
There is absolutely no obligation to answer many, or any questions from other members if you don’t really feel like doing so. In a server of over half a million members, I’m sure someone else will be able to.
I've found where the pipes lead to
Let people experience Sky and wonder and think about all the new lore related things they are experiencing. We all have to start somewhere.
Do you think they kinda “get rid“ of the infected people since the one guy in the intro walked into some kind of light who was infected
didn't they get rejected from entering or smth i swear i didn't understand that part
Cant really draw conclusions on what they do with the infected ancestors yet.
Maybe they’re either treated or experimented??? I have no idea
Im not gatekeeping anyone please stop misinterpreting my messages. I simply pointed out that lot of stuff can be searched here without waiting for answers.
I think its no treating because the wax thing how the girl treated the little animal was kinda a discovery. I personally think they being „cleared“
i might haven't seen it clearly but in the city only manatees were infected idrk
Also what was the device? That lit the candle
The Person in the beginning was infected too
if was 9 am for me ofc i missed stuff
The toymaker is also infected along with several citizens throughout the film.
I believe they’re pipes carrying light into Eden
As for why? Maybe powering the Eden Diamond?
wait they were?? dang
I guess its a power system that keep the darkness away since it was shown that there is permanent darkenss
Also i think the eden elder will kinda manipulate or destroy this power system and thus creating chaos by getting Krills and disease involved.
I also think the infection is due to the power system having leaks
I think it’s more so that the Eden Diamond getting activated is CAUSING the darkness
Maybe the light is getting warped into darkness??
Not a good screenshot but yeah
wait, that's why they were in so far away from the main street
??
i was talking abt the toymaker
Wdym main street though?
Could be this or refunctioning it to attract darkness
By eden elder
street where most characters were walking
It is a mysteryyyyy ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
again i have to see the ep again to notice stuff more clearly
Also since the big Animal 100% got „cleared“ and the girl realized that the small one will too she saved him.
Thats why i think also the people are being cleared
The castle / factory waste is making them slum dwellers grow diamonds and atm it seems (the other) Resh is ignoring them.
And either they are being experimented on because if there were a cure - why did the protag lose their parent?
Toymaker was infected
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Yes. They were. But either the cure is not present prior to the candle ceremony discovery- or it's reserved for the upper class
by candle cerimony you mean mc lighting the candle after going underground (?)
I dont think the diamonds are being grown on people?????
It does require darkstone + light to create diamonds it seems
No- I meant the infection. It does kinda look a bit like diamonds or crystals
Oh righr
Hmmm it does remind me of darkstone
The eden elder trying to destroy the corrupt who gatekeep the medicine could be actually true
So from my 2021 lore chat brain, iirc Resh loved diamonds and wasteland was a place where some shady things with diamonds was happening-
The original land has now been replaced with diamond factory (?)
And all the by products are why people are getting sick
So eden elder could basically be an oposer of king resh
With way to harsh methods
Mc stumbles upon the old land where embers galore and rediscovers candles- or light
If I remember back in the day when we had the initial trailer, we saw a land rich with embers and glowing mushrooms and toads and what not. Mc seemed to be riding a big manatee(?) and seemed in much better shape than
And light is the solution to the darkness which is the common theme of the game.
I feel there will be a realisation that they have strayed too far from light and now their ways threaten their lives themselves.
And they would have to restart
These right? They're from the official steam trailer and the two embers teaser years ago.
Eden elder is Resh
Yes
Yes, they are the one and the same person
It is the last village, meaning they have no where else left to go.
Which makes me wonder whatever happened to all the other realms in this timeline.
When we as Sky kids discover realms, we come across the aftermath of whatever happened in wasteland assuming it takes place after whatever happens in this movie.
So why couldn't they go to the other realms?
I suspect they ran out of crystals.
As we see all their technology revolves around the stones and they can't fly like sky kids.
They ran out of stones and thus the last place left is the stone factory and the huge castle of crystals where Resh lives.
Light creatures are far and few and are "farmed"
it's only been lately we've been able to "restore" some of the tech after everyone's gone, but I do remember that we started with not much active darkstone still interactible
True. And sky kids can fly. So we fill the gap with flying.
bumping!
did some walking around the seasonal area and found some things of note
image 1: it's the darkstone tower that turns off at the trailer!
image 2: the recluse has hidden the way towards the area where stewie goes to
video 1: there's an entire alleyway on the greater area
image 3: they're using a leaking darkwater pipe for laundry..?
Okay that's odd the water in your picture is a lot darker when I saw it
no you just camera up and zoom out
Alright
If you closely at the lanterns, they have little diamond in them!
it's probably not actual tainted darkwater since there's a bowl nearby
anyway, NPCs time!
- they react to some of your emojis, and we already have skykids speedrunning getting locked up as well
- Duets clothing seems to be an actual normal Golden Wasteland clothing besides the brown-colored default Ancestor colors
also mmmmmmmm polluted water
Yeah that’s not good D:
Might contribute to the spread of the sickness
Maybe the polluted water is run-off from diamond manufacturing
If you do the "boo" expression, adult ancestors will respond negatively while children will respond happily/mischieviously towards it. If you do it to a guard it will "warn you" but if you do it again it will put you in jail lol.
I love how you can just get JAILED for your evil chibi crimes like honking at others like the goose from untitled goose game
boo'd two adults and they reacted differently
Legit wonder fi the eventual areas with guards will have other jail spots since the season area is set into two zones (the marketplace and the town).
wait no the first one is the stomp animation (weird mask movement though)
okay, so after going to present-day GW, most of the town and marketplace is... really deep under sand and polluted waters
Yeah it hardly exists anymore
at most you get the toppled columns of the gate and the right wall pipes now at floor level
Could this be the interior of the hospital?
What is that
Where did you even get that from?
looks like someone's depiction of the building based on reconstruction...
or cut content or beta content
If it's beta content it shouldn't be shown :v
has someone tried to somehow oob into that place yet?
People have OOB up to eden in the season area #seasons-events-chat message
It’s an oob in the underground area for the second quest. It’s in live.
That's wild!
Above the building there’s a stone resembling the one in Peaks. I’m sure it’s just a placeholder though.
one tall hospital, i will say
boo the same adult several times they'll react differently
somehow I feel more incentivized to annoy an adult via going through my entire emote list
Just finished doing this. They seem to only like it when you thank them, bow at them and do the grateful emote that I forgot the name of. The guards like being saluted and bowed to as well
Guys I don't know what's wrong
I keep trying to buy something from the anniversary staff but the candles keep returning
I can't buy anything from her

Please seek help in #questions-and-help for your issue.
second quest is not available yet to my knowledge
You can chibi fall into the area though.
saying it is live is a lie
wait do both saluting types work?
I believe so I honestly can't say for bc I kept spamming both 😭 but i believe the 'quick one' is the one that works
Got some new theories after watching 2 Embers premiere:
-The HC name I have for the disease gripping the Last City is Crystalblight
-Crystalblight is caused by toxic chemicals being released by industrial activities in the city, which are transmitted to humans and creatures of light. It is similar to cancer, and manifests in crystalline tumours forming on the skin. Dark creatures, however, are immune to the disease.
-Crystalblight, however, can be cured by exposure to bright, radiant light and heat.
may have calculated how much 1 token (ancient currency used in past golden wasteland) would be worth in candles
1 AC is 3 candles (1 ticket costs either 2AC or 6 candles)
a table with a kettle, 2 cups and a tablecloth is 28 ac (84 candles)
a similar table albeit a bit larger is 45 candles
so we're left with around 39 candles
the towel is 10 candles, which seems to be aroooound the size of the one on the table
so subtract another 10 and we're left with 29 candles
one could argue the table is too large and has shelves so
the shelf is 10 candles and is around the size of the entire table albeit a bit smaller and obviously it does not have legs, so we could assume it would take 2 shelves to make this table (1 would be cut up into the legs and to fill out the rest of the surface)
so, 20 candles + towel for 10 so 30 candles
so we're left with around 54 for the entire teaset
and the teaset during the quests costed 1 token
so, best case scenario
1 token = 29 candles
worst case scenario
1 token = 54 candles
in either case, daum inflated much???
hopefully someone smarter than me tackles this topic, i tried my best, enjoy ya'll!! the number is a rough estimate
i'm insane
OMG WHAT
Wrong channel, maybe?
not really, tokens were used as currency in past golden wasteland by the ancients, this is just me theorising on how much 1 token would be worth in candles nowadays
like how much you could buy with a token
so i don't think it's the wrong channel? i mean it's about lore and the two embers and the past kingdom and stuff
They're lore-mathing so they're good
IM SO HAPPY U DID THAT THO it put a big smile on my face just now ill fully read it in a few minutes
YOU'RE WELCOME!! :DD
there we go, here's the token i'm talking about!! it's ancient currency
No wonder everything is so expensive
and the teaset during the quests costed 1 token
so, best case scenario
1 token = 29 candles
worst case scenario
1 token = 54 candles
Good lord 💀 Also you doing this reminds me of how people would guess the height of video game characters by using the height of the structures around them, mad kudos.
Ohh, i thought you were talking about the tickets. My bad
yeah...
Late stage capitalism
it's fine, don't worry!!
thanks
i immediately knew what must be done after finding out what currency the ancients used, wish i could get an exact number tho, oh well, at least i've got something!!! maybe in the future we'll get an exact number, oh one could wish...
God mood I saw those giant coins and the coin collector in me went nuts haha
we skykids are broke:(
@vernal rapids I think this is the first "city" or "village"
Perhaps. That's going to be interesting to revisit for sure
My idea is this map will be the map for the Part 2 🤔
But we already have another version of this place with a season, so i dont know lol
i'm probably going to use the searchbar for the remaining season until we get more really interesting scenes
if there's anyone new to the lore please search a lore topic you're most interested in and sort as old. it's very interesting and kinda saves some people's time and energy answering questions
I think we'll only get the areas featured in the Chapters for Part 1, so in regards to the Isle of Dawn, I think that will be Part 2.
Comparison images between Eden in the new seasonal area, and one in Dawn.
I was expecting the top part being severed with floating rocks to be more "complete" at that point, but maybe it did always look like that, and it's the mountain wrapped in storm that is the major change.
The past is not dawn, maybe thats why! Its Dust Era
TIME TO BACKREAD
THE LORE IS AMAZING
I think we "play" as Hopeful Steward in the quests. The first quest of the season was backstory
I just know the playful steward is an important character in the lore
So Dawn and Dusk ember could also refer to the time period we see in the films/when we play in the game Seasons as well?? (this is so much fun, am trying to wrap my head around it)
Lore Thoughts 1
We open in a "shanty town" outside of the city walls. It has a significant number of guards. The presence of advanced technology (power diamonds lights and watchtowers?) suggest that, unsurprisingly, the ruling class within the walls have the money to help these people but would rather put that money towards policing and continuing systemic poverty and opression instead. The lights are there to "prevent crime." They are not a benevolent gesture and are a tool of policing. If caught, those that are incarcerated in the shanty town clearly lack the funds or status to escape and will fall further into already abject, cyclical poverty.
Well
is this in the live game?
two embers is basically anti capitalist and i love it
how so?
And do you mean the story or how the animation is published?
No I was equating the Dawn picture to be current day, as we see it ingame as we enter Isle as a Skykid after the destruction.
Where the first picture is in the theoretical past, as we see it while the ancestors were alive.
Legit I'm loving it
I assume the story. The main character is in poverty and is forced to live in an exploitative militaristic society
i watched the first episode twice and realised that little toy MC kept was the last memory of their mother
WHERE DID THE TOYMAKER GO😭😭😭
(Speaking as an American) Parallel to present day, many folks choose military service for the benefits the military provides such as schooling, healthcare, etc. due to their own lack of/limited funds. Some are even offered conscription over jail time.
My main thoughts on the Two Embers show? Well, the biggest thing is how much was already shown, either with trailers or previews.
We see around 50% of it in the trailers already. So we already kinda know what's gonna happen in the later episodes.
Yeah as an American this is probably the first thing i thought of too
Just like every modern film in the industry
I saw a lot of things in the lore of what weve seen already (not enough yet but from what ive seen) to resemble a lot of political issues we have here at home
Void of shattering!!!!!
Two shattering guides...
I think the season takes place a while before the show, in my opinion. Before the spirit died.
You mean the toymaker?
I agree, first quest is a backstory with some liberties.
Imagine the season takes on a dual approach as in the season of Moomins.
Where we go through the quests as either the hopeful steward, or the mysterious child on a pilgrimage to the top of Eden.
This is a thing that happens with sky lore, because of the nature of the sky lore it does have a lot of similarities to things that have happened in real life. Such as remembrance being compared to real life wars when it released.
I think there’s definitely something there to look into in terms of thinking about how the lore will play out or how the world of sky is urging two embers
From the first quest it definitely seems like we might be taking the place of the mc/ hopeful Stewart right before the events of the show actually happen or in a kinda retelling of how things happened.
Since in our quest version, toy maker is still around and toy maker is the one who gets the butterfly toy taken from them. While in the show it’s hopeful Stewart who gets it stolen for a bit by the manatee.
Yeah i see that too
During times of war there is obviously less care towards the safety of civilians and more emphasis on making troops deadlier. I can obviously see that in the past version of golden wasteland.
Its a refugee camp where people look like theyre happy and there are children playing but obviously people are sick (like the toymaker) and there is a lack of care towards that. On top of that inadequate housing and police/troops patrolling every move. Terrible.
You see it all the time in real life
Lore Thoughts 2
"The Indomitable Human Spirit" -- Despite the poverty they are kept in, resilience shines through. Children still play, they still find love, and people come together. Music is at it's core, and can be found all around. Music has the power to pass down knowledge and experience through generations even when the words seem to no longer have meaning.
2nd image: lesbians or danmei, take your pick
That and function over aesthetics.
During times of war, people who are skilled in the arts (music and art) are sadly thrown into battle like any other soldier.
Those who happed to posses skills like baking, medicine or constructions are at times spared from the frontlines, but still obligated to contribute to the cause.
In a sense of timelines. It is safe to assume musical spirits either lived in a time were there was no war, or in a time where they are not yet drafted to take up arms and leave their instruments behind.
Im 99% sure there was some sort of draft
(wrong reply my bad)
I meant this message: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Oh who were u replying to
Oh ok
So I have a question... In the first quest are we playing as the ember from the animation? Or are we just another citizen
We're playing as the kid in the quest
😌 that's what I thought- now I'll have to go back and do it again dressed as them
Imagine a secret ending plays out when you dress up as a certain spirit, and some hidden code checks for what type of cosmetics you have to trigger a special event?
Exactly
(me running as a GM in a homebrew game)
I should consider doing that as some lore event.
Where the cosmetics evokes such a strong memory from a spirit, it gets them to tell a story with extra lore.
Ooooooooo that would be fun
Based
I forgot to reply to this message
I agree with you but im curious if you think there was some sort of social/cultural norm that certain people were expected to sign up for the draft
For example In the US there hasnt been a draft since Vietnam but men 18+ are required by law to sign up for selective service but women dont have to
Maybe there defo was something like that here
i also dont doubt there were people with disabilities we dont see
I also dont doubt that the draft ripped apart families. I think season of belonging (super old i know) kind of said that but in a much more vague way
The dad was most likely drafted while the kids were displaced
Lore Thoughts 3
The second area closer to the gates is a market. These people are the merchant, middle class. These people know trades because they were either born into them (i.e. parent was a blacksmith, etc.) or they had a social connection or funds that facilitated an apprenticeship/education.
They sell their wares to mainly other middle class people and soldiers. (The soldiers have an interesting state of class. They could have come from a middle or lower class family. Either way, their status rises.)
These people have the disposable income for luxuries like spices, dyes, new/repaired tools, and drinks. The difference in clothing color is distinct.
Police are there, but they are less concerned with the merchant class and more with keeping lower class "theifs" out and ensuring "order."
I'm glad you brought up the disabilities part because now I'm wondering if any spirits we've met are disabled (not the ones in TTE).
Time to go on the wiki ig and scroll endlessly over quests and appearances.
Yeah Remembrance was my first thought
I think Wasteland isn't that strictly stratified. I imagine it has the peasantry at the bottom, then the Vault scholars, and the Eden Ruler at the very bottom. My reasoning is that all the lower class Wasteland people have very similar clothing
Yeah when i went there the clothing on some people was very distinct and different from others
That's what I've been seeing, clothing is pretty consistent class wise
It would certainly be a fun topic to explore and theorise on.
That would however tread into fanon territory and sadly would be better suited in another channel.
Especially when the idea for this one is to focus on the lore as presented by TGC.
I would ponder on season of Remembrance, Little Prince and Aurora to see how the war took a toll on the ancestor spirits.
For some, it tested their morals, their strength and some were even pushed to their physical limits.
There is a decent chance that whatever the cause was in the war. That the kingdom was willing to sacrifice everything to win.
There is also a possibility that some of the lower class refugees were given govt sanctioned clothing
Im not all that familiar with how monarchies work in real time other than basic knowledge (i live in a democracy) but it could happen
The only thing i am not sure of though was whether it was a civil war or a war between nations
I was thinking civil war but unsure
Oh, I am at odds with the old Light Awaits hinting at the war against dark creatures, and the implication of a civil war between ancestors in the modern game.
For what it is worth, I know that dark creatures (aka Dark Dragons) have attacked in the battle. So that is not a debate.
Though it is interesting to see what the ancestors were fighting for.
And, adding in a theory with the wasteland elder's shield, if Tsadi was involved or aware of what both sides were fighting for.
I mean I’d hope hed be involved otherwise thatd make his military skills useless
Dudes clad entirely in armor
Then again its normal for people in power to do nothing while young (usually poorer) people do all the fighting
Man why cant they just dance battle or sumn
That or lose sight of what matters.
The guy is built like a tank, and would likely make the mistake of going too far in a battle with squishy ancestors.
This seems like a stupid question, but where is Vault located within the Sky world? Like it's behind Wasteland's temple and before Eden. Is it underground? Why are there stars at the end, space? I never really thought about it until seeing the huge mountain again in the new season area...
You can check maps in-game and the dark blue thingy is vault
So that might help
Is there a map shrine in the Two Embers version of Wasteland?
I could see that, we know they give out rations too
Then again i think he might not be as tall as our skykid perspective
Like in the chapter the vault elder was there (absolutely NO idea WHY she was there) and she wasnt that tall compared to an average citizen
Tsadi could just be maybe around a foot taller
Either way hed be good support
Inside the mountain right behind the wasteland temple. So it is right underneath Eden, encased in tons of earth.
Thank you!
Ok now im curious WHY WAS SHE EVEN THERE 😭🙏
I think it's directly embedded inside Eden
Would that mean vault students are considered the elite class if theyre so close to eden? (Or like the castle)
We are in the perspective of Hopeful Steward's
And now I wonder who the parental figure was for Stewie
No spoilers since I haven't seen TTE as I cant see it on Switch and will have to see it on another device
<_< I'd advise not entering the channel because people will be talking about spoilers here no matter what
most likely
but aside from that you have the fact that they're the closest to The Light and they can channel their "mastery" over it into the little miracles known to you as spells
then there's the fact that they're the most learned ones which must be pretty useful in a state that has just gotten industrial
then you add onto it the Lost Arc murals and combine them with the ones in The Vault, combine it with rare patterns on fabric found therein and it all gets you to think "damn, these guys seem important"
and for my final ingredient
did ya seriously think that you wouldn't be seen as important after clearing a trial?
then there's the evolution of the artisanal symbol which leads to it's final form in The Vault, it being... where it is and i have no more examples to point out such an axiomatic thing as "the knowers are actually quite important in an advanced society"
i wish it was uploaded somewhere so bad i need to do a framebyframe analysis of RESH 🤩 BEAUTIFUL EVIL LEADER
This all tracks
The fact that we see some vault scholars in different realms shows they also have the privilege of traversing anywhere
My main question though is does that have anything to do with the vault elder being there in the chapter 1 of the series?
where?
so we all agree dawn ember (?) is hopeful steward
She was somewhere in the beginningish
maybe i should watch what we have before getting into a lorechat discussion
werent they checking personally who could enter the city or not
So thats what it was
makes sense
here are things i noticed??
- stewie is a craftsperson
- curfew/hide when the darkness comes?
- sewers lead from gw to vault?
- i feel like the mural of the light creatures going up to orbit then cutting to resh powering up the crystal is absolutely significant. maybe the crystal is blocking rebirth somehow?
- light has an effect on darkstone illness, which makes sense bc in game we light up statues to free spirits/skykids in pnr
my "behind your back the vaultoids conspire in plain sight" theory is getting more and mmore credible
The dusk ember is hopeful Steward. While the dawn ember is the boy who will becomes the king (or you may call them alef like in the concept arts). At least, that's what most of us agreed on
also how was resh floating... maybe the crystal had some power to make you float or smth
Ngl several years ago i assumed the vault elder was kinda evil as a joke but idk if that may or may not be true
If it is true i can laugh like a maniac
This is the vault elder btw, they were checking on the infected in the line outside the gate
there's literally a floating Spirit in Vault
i somehow keep confusing dusk and dawn together😭
gate to the temple?
gate to temple/city
they found a person was infected and didnt allow them in
They did though
or so I think happened
so is gw connected to eden? i was always confused on the location of vault of knowlege
The king assumed to have completed four elemental trials and ascended to Eden. So maybe, the king is built different than the rest of ancestors or even elders. In short, he is special one. And him levitating in front of the diamond is the proof of that
GW Temple is the entrance way to Vault as shown in the game
help they did?? i mistook the scene
Oh interesting, I see them as a completely different person. Similar hairstyle, sure, but different
Here is hoping the animation can be posted online.
It would make sense if TGC was posting teasers on YouTube and social media, to aslo release the episode eventually.
why were they trying to get into vault if it wasn't a direct path to eden/the last city? is there a hospital or something in vault for the infection?
Wait what 😭 wouldn’t that be risky
Then again toymaker was there too with the infection
I don't want to spoil anything so I can't fully say but the elder is trying to help the infected guys 💀
idrk if the war thats going on caused the suirvelaince to be extra low could be a factor/consequnces
So shes not evil
Nah im assuming shes evil because im miserable
honestly i might just wait a couple days for the experienced lore scholars to drop a full analysis of the episode bc im too tired to infer anything atm
considering vault is an area just before eden that might be why they act like that
Yeah that was the impression I got too. Like, people seemed to be waiting in line kinda hopefully. Or at least, the person with the crystals on their arms didn’t struggle and fight and plead as they walked on.
You might have to wait more than that imma be real, the 15 minutes did not provide a whole lot but it did give some insight/context to general jist nonetheless. I know that sounds contradictor but there's still only chapter one and we don't know the full story yet, we got 9 more chapters until the full story is unveiled.
Nice to see you again nagati
It has been like that for years.
That is why I save some gifs as attachments instead.
Most of it we already know from the trailers, but basically:
Hopeful Steward had a wooden toy from their parent, but the parent died and now they live as an oprhan in Wasteland. There's a strange new dark sickness spreading throughout. A manatee takes the wooden toy, and Hopeful Steward adopts the manatee after seeing they also have the sickness. The rancher tries to look for their lost manatee, but Hopeful Steward finds refuge in a mysterious old person's hole. They escape via underground pipes, and find a refuge. Hopeful Steward finds a candle and uses light particles to light it up, and then healing the manatee using that candle. The episode ends with the Steward resting with the manatee, and Resh aurafarming at Eden
Thank you Void that pretty much summaries it
Aurafarming 💀💀💀💀💀💀
HELP RESH'S AURAFARMING
If you know something we don't, that's fine, but Dusk Ember and Hopeful Steward are more similar than even Vault Elder's appearances in the game and the show.
Bro if i completed all trials irl not like reviving each time like in game and control all the elements id aurafarm too
Oh wait you missed one small detail but the light/power from Resh's shard was presumably attracting krills (this is mostly a assumption but from the audio is most definitely what happened at the cliffhanger of ep 1).
mysterious old person's hole does not sound right 😭 thank you though. im not gonna rlly try and look too far into it until we get further episodes
i do have a theory that the crystal is somehow blocking ascension,, since we see that mural near the end
it kinda looks like resh is powering up the crystal at the end? with the lightning that looks similar to the storm? man, trying to sleep in eden must SUCK. "i didnt get any sleep last night, king resh was aurafarming his crystal again and blew up my house..."
NO WAY KRILLS ARE GOING TO BE IN NEXT EP ijibol
We do not know if they will appear next episode, they could appear in another one for all we know :P
Krill are the k9 unit in the US army but if they backfired
bro's ( resh) plotting smth
Dudes fit goes insanely hard too i think i want to cosplay the king sometime so i can aurafarm
does anyone have any good screenshots for me to hyperfixate on for the next week yet?
#screenshots-and-videos should have a ton. I wish they would release on Youtube to get high quality screenshots
one sec i got some
thank you
But yeah what Void said, there's a lot in that channel to look for.
It is right! The crystal whole purpose is to farming the light source from the direct spot of soul cycles. In conclusion, it does blocking the light creatures from ascending towards orbit.
thank you!! it feels good to have validation for my theory
here's a more crazy theory. what if the corruption of light creatures is somehow linked to that? being cut off from the megabird/the light? after all without light there's darkness,,, so,,,
Wait can you explain how it blocks ascension?
The light from the tunnels Dawn got for the candle is absorbed into the shard. All the tunnels are used as a cable throughout the city to power the crystal, I assume?
Because of this, it's blocking all the light in the world of sky from reaching ascension.
Ah i see its so conserve power greedily
Classic resh amirite
Hellooo, this might be a bit of a stupid question but do we know anything about how krill came to be, and specifically how they function as living beings? Lowkey huge biology nerd so I'm really curious
the assumption is that krill were once light creatures but were corrupted on accident. we dont know much yet though
We do not know the origins or evolution of krills. Only small tibidts like their names and mannerisms.
I think the plot is progressing very quickly, much more than I expected. I didn't expect the healing manatee scene to be at the first episode. This means the second episode shows the city falling and Hopeful Steward running away with the manatee and the pack?
Then the third episode has the Hopeful Steward healing others with the candle and reaching the Shipwreck, and the fourth episode is Vault?
I'm a bit confused why you responded with this. I relatively have no idea what each episode will be (saying this because Ive seen beta quests but not the film).
Lmao same i was like huh
The structure of the quests vs the episode progression has some tweaks and liberties here and there so it's 🧇
Also I have a heavy feeling that part two is gonna be a big flashback and leads back up to the current timeframe with Dawn
if resh and stewie interact at some point i will scream and jump for joy
These are just my predictions
Without a doubt they will interact at least once considering Stewie/Dawn joins up Vault Elder and views a lantern.
I saw during the episode there was some spoken language that i could hear small glimpses of
It didnt sound like some noises to me it sounded like actual language
Do you think its the spoken version of the script we see on the bells in prairie and the inscriptions on the walls of vault
Funny you mention that but the marketplace ingame also has background audio of people talking, it's a nice detail to liven up the area.
I feel like in game is just stock audio but the actual animated chapter has some real language
Like when the shepherd was talking to the soldier
I just came over from the season events chat and they mentioned some sort of sickness, which is why the toymaker and manatee have strange marks on them
I wonder if it's also a quarantine zone as well
didn't they use to do that?
Random question but why do skykids/spirits actually wear masks?
Could be a cultural thing
They probably take it off in front of family or spouses (the people i mean)
Or hear me out, someone mentioned some time ago about how the atmosphere is super thick (due to how the light reflects off of light things). The masks could mitigate some discomfort.
Eventually it became part of the culture
Refer to this #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Really wishing I had screenshot with the tablets so I could decipher if it's the same as ingame. I don't want to make assumptions that they are. The spoken and written language in the film HAS to be the same but I do not know if the ones ingame vs the film are. For all I know they could've taken liberties to change it in some fashion.
Sky has two writing systems in game (a logogram system and a alphabet system). Most murals are the logogram system while places like Vault uses a more alphabet system. Along with this conlags are a bit tricky sometimes because in order to understand the language that was created we have to obtain words/phrases and essientially play a arduous game of wordle.
Ah that makes sense for the skykid masks
I wonder if the peoples’ masks is different though
in-lore
hell if i know, it may be some sort of cultural thing that stuck with Ancestors likely linked to them being neutral creatures in a world filled with Light
real answer
devs wanted to make skid's faces customizable and changing masks was less uncanny than changing faces
Nah, more like, their hair is different and their outfits are different ¯_(ツ)_/¯
We still doesn't have any clues for ancestors mask, unfortunately
The alphabet maybe can be translations of the logogram
I always assumed isle of dawn welcomed a lot of immigrants and many people in a country speak multiple languages
Schools probably taught them both to children
I don’t see anything connecting them to Aviary in the first chapter
Vault Elder is a bit easier to connect since the mask is really distinctive and the location of Vault near Mt. Eden is known too. Will be interesting to see what turns out in the next few chapters I guess
Logograms are pretty prehistoric while the other is more modern which is fitting for Vault so do with that what you will
Isle of Dawn was probably one of the "first" villages in a way
I also wanna know
What other kingdoms or nations are out there?? Does Resh ever get foreign aid? How does foreign policy work
Otherwise its extremely weird that this kingdom gets funded for its war WITHOUT foreign aid
on top of that its also implied since a lot of immigrants probably came into isle of dawn
As far as i know, the kingdom of sky is the ONLY kingdom exist that unite all ancestors into one banner and never be mentioned by devs if there's any other kingdom or nation out there
Man if they put an update out there where we can visit other nations i would be so intrigued
And also checking different modes of transportation
Has anyone spotted any ancestors in the first quest area wearing anything other than the scolding student mask? Either it's culturally significant in some way or it's a rampant fashion trend
theres no other kingdoms i think
D’awh
But thats also kind of odd and creepy to me. Maybe its just me being american but we always have some sort of foreign policy since its so powerful
(Creepy as in the kingdom is all alone by itself)
also an american
Yea
the ancestors came from orbit to colonize the land below, at least thats what i think was said. resh was able to unite all the individual realm kingdoms into one
*as a theory
im pretty sure there's lots of evidence for that ingame?
I dont really know…
There is, though it remains a theory like so many others until there is something to confirm it.
The origins of the ancestors are undisclosed as opposed to the sky kids creation.
That said, one point to touch upon in the sentence. "the ancestors came from orbit..."
We don't know where the ancestors came from. We know they came from someplace else, but we don't know where or what that may be.
Yeah this is what i think
I dont know if its evolutionary biology or supernatural
I always interpreted the final memory of Shattering as the Elders being cast out of Eden…
(A fallen angel type of thing)
With how powerful that explosion was. I am sure all of them gotten sick airtime off the mountain
(sorry, not sorry)
Either because Resh hated them eventually and wanted to become totalitarian or because the elders messed up somewhere
Prolly the first one tho
Never apologize for the truth 🫡
they came from up
I think the king is benevolent? The concept art they showed as part of the anniversary event says they imagined a ruler who sacrificed themselves and reincarnated as Skykids…or something to that effect
Hello! Not opposing or anything- just curious- if the Eden explosion did cast the elders out of Eden would that sort of mean that they've plan their burial or something? Cause we can see the ruins of the vault summit when ascending to orbit and I've read somewhere that the stone thingys of elders are like tombstones so technically they got tombstones planted before the eruption (that casted the elders outta Eden) occurred?? (Sorry if I'm not making sense haven't been here for quite a while
sofhskdhsb)
I mean like presumably the summit was destroyed by the eruption with how damaged it is and since it's after the pnr so-
Is okay, it's a valid question
The Vault is known to be a dreamlike state – think of it this way: there's a lot of similarity between the Vault that we enter after Wasteland, and the Vault that we see after the cutscene…
Where did the intermediate levels come from?
the tombstones were always a big question and no answer to them exists
I think the Elders did pass away between the old times and the Skykids' time, because the only time we see the elders is when we meditate at their temples
They're like "deities" to us Skykids
Maybe morally grey deities, though…
def morally grey dieites lol

so much to comment on tho!
Tombstones mean they died unnatural death and left a body behind.
yeah but who made those graves?
i’m wondering why it goes dark when resh activates the dark stone in the first episode, was it already dark and the lights keep everything bright? Or do the dark stones cause darkness to come in and block out the sky?
Not necessarily- tombstones are put up also when there's no body to be found
If they did got casted out of Eden then there's an instance that they did get "redeemed" when "they" finally lead the spirits back into the light? Since they're in orbit that is the holiest place
acolytes likely, one memory shows them taking care of it, vault was refuge during shattering and you can ee people lining up to wasteland temple which leads to vault so the sick people were common there
Darkstones are a source of energy aren't they?
Back when I went by Skychaeologist here, I made the observation that people who have unfinished business leave behind a ghost, AKA spirit…
kinda?? They need to absorb light to put out energy, they can’t do it on their own i don’t think
lol no if anything im screaming in agony, cozy neurodivergent channel gone, reduced to atoms
Idk if they're renewable xd
i’m way too distracted by being excited for the new season to care 😭😭 But i understand, hopefully it calms down but i doubt it
ah my drawing app calls to me….
i miss the times when you could talk about one or two topics for whole day here
Considering chapters are given out weekly, most likely not. Not that I mind one bit I like hearing the new and old fans mix up again. Plus this was bound to happen.
same, but! I’m excited that we can’t do that because it means there’s so much new lore to talk about!
i shared theory on this here not so long ago but doubt i find it in all this flood
the more lore fans we can make, the better
Honk yeah!
the more lore seniors you will lost tbh
This channel is for everyone!
also are we able to interact with the manatee yet? The most i can seem to do is walk in its enclosure and have it fly around
they keep despawning for me and my friend
There is a toggle that appears in the pen with the few big ones, I send it to the events chat but didn't get any answer ~
i don’t get the pop up to open the pen door to the bigger ones
You can glitch into it from behind, near the sand heap
But be careful, you'll glitch just as easily into the cage lol
We've had some come back though for TTE like Mia for example
Hello
HELLO MIA
Hope you enjoyed the first screening/season
somehow i managed to find it in all this mess #lore-discussion-spoilers message
It was really cute! I love nonverbal animation
Same, it's very charming. They hit the ballpark on that aspect
one does not outweight 10 that left
I said "some" meaning more than just Mia.
Uhh…thanks?
New lore-ists are always welcome, especially since they have more material to work with
we are talking about vets that left this morning when the chat exploded
I wonder what this Aurora spirit means
It’s okay! You can cry

I mean that's the reason for my hiatus too…
But TTE was too good to ignore so I'm braving the storm
i dont think they will return before it calms down here again
even i dont think i can finsih the architecture of sky project i have going on when the chat goes faster than the cooldown and the pics have to stay together
each realm takes more than 10 photos and 10 is limit per one message
Unfortunately that’s just how it goes, nothing stays the same forever new people come and go and the chats nature will change
I for one have almost never spoken in here until today, I was so excited about Resh
Long live the king, the king is dead…
Welcome, glad you're excited and wanted to stop by!
I also noticed you've been a member since Aug 31 on this server, which happens to be my birthday…
Yep always has I’m relatively new as a lorist I only started to spew theories after I noticed similarities between the blue bird and the divine figure of Homay which made me notice how every single divine being in sky seems to be represented by birds and how birds seemed to have been safe from most light factories
Homay?
Yeah like megabird!
Haha yeah that’s when I joined back after my banishment, I’ve been here since 2021
August 31st is also my horses birthday! You share a birthday with eachother
The craziest headcanon I have is that Aurora is Megabird
I also think the blue bird represents something you think is a material, but it actually isn't…
Uma...birthday...
Yeah a mythical bird that some say is the daughter of the sun (a large beacon of light like Megabird)
Mother is megabird 100%
Oh alright, only met with the megabird concept before

Birds are just divine beings in Sky, they have to be there’s MegaBird, Bluebird and Aurora first appears to us as a bird
My crazy HC is also supported by the fact that the vocals on the Sky soundtrack are hers
Mother is ethereal so therefor she must be megabird
Yes you aren’t entirely wrong she most likely is Megabird or at least an avatar of Megabird which also proves my theory of the Divine nature of birds
On that note, my phone says it's bedtime
It’s 6:31 am here haha I haven’t slept myself 😔 alittle too late now
I will always adore how "The Light Beyond" got revamped to be AURORA's vocals
Is there a guide to learn about Sky Lore?
It seems interesting and throughout the game it's not really foretold, actually that's wrong, it's told but not explained well.
Wiki has a lore summary https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Lore. The pinned messages in this channel also has some good information like the concept art and dev streams.
If you have questions feel free to ask.
Still eating peas, bud?
peas
The bot has been eating peas since 2021...
it's their whole diet now
Bro needs a more balanced diet
this #lore-discussion-spoilers message helped me
Its meant to be open-ended! There are lots of clues, but you make the lore based on your interpretation of the facts :)
Okay but where are the clues😭😭
🙂
That is half of the fun with learning lore in Sky.
Murals, season quests, statues, environmental stuff
I was mural hunting in reef a bit out of personal curiosity, not sure how to interpret this one? If anyone wants to share their thoughts on what this is supposed to tell us I'd love to hear
Civilization using mantas
Using mantas for light power, one of the sections in Abyss Reef shows some creatures in "tubes"
There are other murals that add more context to this.
It is ideal to explore around to learn more about the story being told here.
This scene shows the ancestors bringing mantas inside the building.
In one of the season quests, you release some of the mantas trapped inside.
What the ancestors were planning to do with the mantas is further hinted at in other murals.
experiments on mantas turning them into krill’s basically
But skykids and spirits are able to talk right? You can hear them laugh, sigh and make different types of noises, also in the new map it seems there's a lot of talking in the background....Or maybe they're limited on saying certain things?
i think it’s so there’s no problems with language barriers and the devs don’t have to translate to dozens of different languages
I like to think it’s because the sky kids can understand eachother, but in that way where the honks and emotes are like a non verbal sort of language, intuitive and easy to understand without words directly.
Plus stars don’t exactly, like speak, so I think it’s cute and clever way to get around there being a potential language barrier
There is background audio in the new map that is "talking" to simulate a sense of citizenry.
Sky Kids "honking" essentially is their spoken language. However they are more vocal in their body language (emotes and whatnot) so communicating verbally isn't relied on in the same sense like the ancestors do with their written/spoken languages.
that was a pretty cool detail
stars don't speak? hell yeah they do, just not with sound, and it's basically just burps unless they're sentient
Yeah I meant in like the traditional way of words, hence my line of thinking being that non verbal communication using honks and emotes being easier for Sky kids
burping stars, lol
Now I heard everything.
Exactly communication can always be spoken by the way someone stands and looks, same with the eyes, sometimes eyes conveys emotions too, even if they dont have mouths, you just have to see the way they act
That reminds me Sky's use of emoting as a form of language is like how Minecraft players use body language to express themselves (ex: punching up in the air is a form of hello in minecraft communities).
Exactly!
the episode shows them making noises, so they are capable of being verbal, but it seems that verbally spoken language is not as extensively developed as their kinesiology and kinesics. also, most of the emotes use their hands to convey an emotion or information in some ways, such as the scolding gesture and the stop it gesture. in my opinion, i don’t think their civilization had any spoken language, which is very interesting!
their form of writing also doesn’t have any words, only pictographs (throughout the realms, on walls, and in the vault the lanterns show holographic images), which solidifies this theory
They have two forms of written languages, one is a logogram system and a alphabet system. I wouldn't call them pictographs per say but I get what you mean.
oh thats true! i didn’t remember the alphabet
I do agree it's not as developed as the others. Considering logogram and pictographs are very prehistoric it's safe to bet the use of verbal language was much newer.
(Also based pfp btw, Momonga is beloved)
it is also interesting to consider that we have mostly seen these logograms on big, meaningful monuments such as bells or on the elder’s head accessory, so perhaps it was not accessible either, whereas pictographs were much more common
i love momonga!!!!!!!!!!!
Mhm mhm they sure love their lil doodles
wait so are the masks part of their face
Chiikawa pfp!
Anyways
No, maskless spirits still exist, but my theory is that maskless spirits aren't as high up socially.
they sleep in masks?
maybe ancestors also honk like skykids, it's just more like guttural roars and grunts to them
I could be wrong, but I thought the guard was making lego noises
I have a question about something I'm a little puzzled on. Does it say anywhere (in game or out of game) where we were peacefully flying until we lost our light and asteroided to aviary? Orbit or something? I'm not good with lore and stuff so I may have missed info
I don’t wanna rejoice two fandoms, but does anyone find the village in two embers remind you of piltover from arcane? Not physically but in some geophysical sense
@grave laurel hhhhhh
Ok.....
You were right!
💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵😭💵
YEAHHHHH
no i get it! the looming majestic building in the horizon, the heavy police/guard presence, the stark difference between the poorer district and the richer one
so i got some question, maybe a dumb one
but how come we're able to see the castle at the peak 500 years ago? coz in sky's current timeline we only see it on our way to orbit?
im not that up-to-date with sky lore so yea
you do have a good point!! I would just think there is less green fog/clouds before the entire place was corrupted
It's always has been. We've seen the flying castle at the Isle of dawn first cutscene. It's been ruined though. At 500 years ago, the castle is still in its glory. Plus the wasteland's environmental conditions at this time are still fine enough compared to our times. So that's maybe the reason why we can see the castle at 500 years ago than in our time/post-shattering event
OH that makes a lot more sense for me now
i completely forgot about isle's cutscene
tysm for the answers!
Honestly I was watching the episode the second (or third 😵💫 (and my brain needs a break from watching it)) time and it's possible that's the Ceasing Commodore's cape
y'all after watching the animation, i got a theory...eden king guy is hoarding the light to himself
also the ending with the storm uprising, this is just a thought rn but what if outside of that place is all darkness and near the mountain is all they have left of light
I really think that's the case maybe
Hmmmm good theory! Makes me wnder whats up with aisle of dawn then, its so green. I wonder if, like how in storm lock, the crystal destroys you, and the eden guy was in charge of making sure it didnt. do that. Maybe he got too greedy and the crystal went boom and thats why everything becomes so much more desolate as you progress...
My abyss-pilled brain also saw that 👁️👁️
I like that the lanterns use dark stones instead of fire. It’s a cool detail.
possible spoiler but uh, went far out of bounds and found this place...uh....holy moly, its related to the shard
||i go near it and my light starts to drain slowly so uh- there's that too||
Holy sherbert
Money yay money money money
now that i think of it, i think this might be what the inside of that temple would've been, the one that ||sick people are going into to get healed! cause if you look at how the build is, its very similar to that temple||
I sent a DM to my friend that went on about the first quest, I wanna share it here as well.
It feels natural for my sky kid to have no cape at all. He's practically like the rest of the spirits in this time period of pandemic stress; you're on level with the spirits. Instead of being this figure of light to save a kingdom that collapse far into the future, you're now just like the rest of the spirits. No matter what cosmetics you own or how your sky kid is personalized, you're like the rest of everyone living in the past of getting by with controlled trading, social hierarchy, ranching, maybe a form of religion or beliefs, and health management with how some sick spirits are being quarantined. For the first playing sky since the start of 2024, I feel the story in its closest proximity. Don't get me winded, the base game storytelling is magnificent with the subtleness you learn as you play through the realms. This season feels like an entire spinoff to sky, and this narrative of being apart of society instead of beyond the collapse makes me fall in love more.
Was there a ||big darkstone on|| a platform above? Because I saw this in an oob, but could not get there
GOODNESS GRACIOUS HOW DID YOU DO THIS (If you dont mind dm’ing me)
I recorded a Weird weird noise played under that room, in the void.
never thought it'd let me get this close
Ah i see
Ill have to try this when im there

sadly requires piggyback trick but where that old man spirit is, the tunnel below, you go there and then piggy back rocket high enough that you can glide down to that structure
I was just thinking of this, but what if the reason they don’t have a spoken language is because they can’t hear like us. I mean they are kind of like a living rock depending on your interpretation - maybe the noises are more of a resonance. Maybe they know they can make noise but they can’t hear it if that makes sense. Maybe the vibrations move through their body and give a “hum” or “honk” and through those vibrations they can distinguish the location and intensity of noise. This would explain why they make noise to get attention because it still creates vibrations others can feel, but it also makes sense why they don’t have a whole language. Building off this- many deaf people love music because they feel the vibrations or have partial hearing. Perhaps the vibrations of music echo a deeper resonance with the sky universe and this is why music has a major role in their lives.
THANK YOU
eden king really said im king of the hill
Weird water glurp sound under oob
i made it to the top y'all
Ngl it kinda reminds me of final fantasy 7 advent children. Like how shinra was taking from the earth's life force, but then the earth fought back. It looks crazy similar
and now ima dive down yahoo
okay so le brain is thinking, and this is just my theory for what might be going on. so we can see from the first episode ||that they are indeed harvesting light (or energy) from the light creatures. Hence the need to treat them like cattle, but we were also given a look at the fact that older light creatures are taken first (when the child is sneaking the smaller light creature out, we see one with similar dark crystals get taken away and a door is shut). Which makes me wonder, do they only take from the light creatures that have these dark crystals? Hence the blue hue of energy that is seen (the lanterns, the lights from the kingdom, the lights from the tall king statues, etc). Even more so, if that's what they're doing with the light creatures with dark crystals on their body, then what's happening to the people with dark crystals? I saw it earlier in chat, someone got into the temple and there's a piece of the shard in there and their light began to drain. Maybe that's just for us cuz we have light inside of us, but that's very questionable. Also now thinking of the comparison between this and FF7, there are similarities. Shinra (the King) used the life force, both as a weapon and an energy source. And it looks like a religion was also established (the temple, the drawings on the wall of light being offered up to what looks like the light stream) in order to keep it going even though the temple might believe they're healing and doing good. but who knows?|| either way, I'm intrigued to what the next episode reveals! (sorry for the long tangent, its been a bit since i partook in theories and lore)
No, nothing like that was explicitly confirmed, but it's a good assumption
I agree wholeheartedly. However, I think it would be best if everyone was dressed the exact same, perhaps like the Hopeful Steward, to reinforce this theory.
same...
Very minor spoilers for the first few seconds of Two Embers episode 1:
Did y'all notice at the very beginning of episode 1 that Eye of Eden was called ||"The Last City" (or "The Ruler's City" as mentioned in one of the promo images a few weeks ago)|| 500 years ago?
Makes you wonder... if it was called ||The Last City, are there other cities out there beyond the reaches of the Sky Kingdom, or somewhere out there in the stars where the light may still be "infinite"?
|| I've been loving this season so much already aaaaaa
i mean, we know the abyss season area was also some kind of civilization that trapped light creatures like the mantas for their light source. And they fell/got corrupted. Probs "the Last city" was literally that. The last city still standing
Who knows what else could be out there!
Infinite Manatees are out there
and krills
i thought it was implying that all other major settlements had fallen
or at least, regressed to rural points
I agree to your counter but I rebuttal to this. The theory is that we go back in time as the game implies. Meaning that we take our sky kid, cosmetically accurate to present day sky, into a time period where that fashion sense hasn’t reached its norm. This can also imply a theory in which a paradox exists. Are we being retold the story from the past (in which you have period correct cosmetics) or being sent to the story to see it all unfold (present day cosmetics brought into the story)
There is some evidence to this sort, like how whenever you express around NPCs (i.e other sky kids) They seem to laugh at you and mock you. You would think it’s because they’re taunting because it’s part of being a kid, or would you think it’s because of what you’re wearing and how you’re expressing yourself?
If we're talking about lore implications. This would basically be an equivalent of a rich Valley boy interacting with the impoverished in Golden Wasteland
I've been thinking about what tgc hinted at once. That we are all are fragments of Alef before he became the Eden elder or the king.
And how we are all in a time loop and the reason we're fragments is because he wants to fix what happened
Where did tcg hint at that? I'm honestly curious, been putting together references for a while now...
Had my attention till "in a time loop"
Unless eden farming is through time too. :/
Lore chat what do we think of how this tower has a perihelion (glow) like Eden and winglights?
seems to be a thing when something is powered by light from orbit
i dont know anything about the lore but do the crystals kind of represnt small pox?
because since the movie is set back then and theres some sort of crystal disease just like how there was a small pox outbreak in europe during the 18th centuary
im kind of jumping to conclusions lol but please hear me out
wasnt that tower lighted up signalizing some sort of curfew
||omg- are those trees? i don’t think we’ve ever seen them in sky kingdom before||
I never actually thought about “human diseases” in relation to Sky! That’s an interesting theory, I don’t think I’ve heard that before
.
the stones we see on the bodies of the generations and creatures is ‘darkstone’ as far as I understand. It’s basically a mineral found in the world of Sky, used for powering many of the man-made structures by harvesting light. Somewhere along the way the darkstone somehow caused pollution.
The only reason why I don’t immediately think it’s a disease like small pox is because when our light vanishes, darkstone is formed on ‘our’ (skykid) bodies. Like when you get hit by Eden rocks, or lose light by krill.
i just noticed smth, is that the rulers shadow?
I don’t know muchhhh about the lore of sky but I think that’s the general idea of things… I think
bro was aurafarming
ong, gotta keep authority somehow
||hes compensating for his baldness||
omg the darkness sickness being a reference to irl sickness is so 👀
it seems like it affects the respiratory system, like with the first quest the toy maker was coughing a lot
I mean technically it could be, they’re sick and dying. So it is a sickness, I just don’t know if it really has a human character
OH YEAH
some other charas also were coughing
i’m wondering if it’s like a fungi, in the sense that it sprouts those crystals, but has a network beneath the skin, like a mycelium network
i think that lines up for me because the industrial revolution also happened in the 18th centuary
ohohoo
i mean industrial revolution caused a bunch of new diseases to be developed so-
After it gets polluted?
How did it get polluted again
because raw darkstone isn’t dangerous afaik
oh no no i mean the dark stone sickness on the body itself
what if every skykid is infected with said disease? and once the blackstone senses darkness (like the crystals flying in eden) it sprouts out of the skykids skin?
Ah I see!!
like, the reason it may be affecting the lungs could be because the disease spreads below the skin
who knows, we haven’t got the ancestors to compare skykids to in that regard, and even if we did see them get absolutely clobbered by rocks, i highly doubt they’d be nearly as resilient as us 😭
I think that can be true, our light keeps us alive. Because of the light, the darkstone was also removed from little manatee
small pox also blocks the respiratory system i think
i love bringing out my biology nerdiness with this stuff
*our light and our memories. Because essentially we lose all of our (and the ancestors’) memories in Eden
. Wing buffs are memories
i love bringing my history nerdiness in this stuff too
TOGETHER!
it can lead to complications related to lungs to bronchitis or pneumonia
LOL
But it doesn’t seem to be cured by medicine
speaking of relating it to smallpox, i wonder if the dark stone disease is contagious
Because I’m sure enchantment guide can cook something up with the flower potions and all
i always saw it as similar to radiation poisoning considering darkstone is also an energy source :3
and shattering's effects seem similar to a nuclear meltdown imo
there was a solution for small pox, in turkey they inject a bit of small pox in their veins so after it heals they wont get it anymore (iirc)
also a woman tried to spread the solution but people didnt really want to inject a deadly virus inside their arm
I do think it’s contagious! Oh yeah radiation poisoning I forgot about that
and if it is, how is it contagious? maybe when the infected cough they release part of the disease that can be breathed in by others, or maybe the crystals on the skin can transmit it
there are some infected charas in the city so it's gonna spread a lot
yeah, the ‘medicine’ we see, like the tea, seem to only help the symptoms, not the disease itself
if its contagious how does stewie not have it? considering they were in proximity with someone who did
Maybe not yet
if small pox was trasmitted throught airborne i guess that sickness is the same (?)
i feel like if it was contagious though, there’d be a strict quarantine, but everyone seems very chill around infected people, even the guards
if the blackstone disease is airborne, is that why peopl started wearing masks?
yeah i dont think its a contagion. i think its caused by proximity to darkstone which could make it somewhat contagious but i dont rlly think so
last city is very close to darkstone if the last scene counts
yep, my theory is that dark stone is like a carcinogen, having cancer doesn’t mean you can spread it to others
thus, by being around dark stone it increases your risk of getting the disease
vault elder didnt appear afraid to mess with the infected spirit so i doubt its airborne at the very least
just a question, is eden abundant of blackstone?
exactly! my theory is mostly based on nuclear power/radiation,, there are a lot of things about destruction of the climate for greed thematically in sky so nuclear power motif would work
*you cannot eat money oh no* /j
naturally occurring dark stone? i have no clue. as for dark stone in general, well it’s the place with the big diamond one, so yes
i doubt it would have much natural darkstone as it’s the location for the soul cycle, which produces a ton of light
i like the idea of the blackstone disease being a radioactive one
that song being used for the aurora concert is absolutely intentional considering what it means in our world and in sky
yes!
darkstone/the eden crystal farms the light/absorbs it though. this can also be seen with the crystals in eden draining your light. so even if it wasnt naturally there, its kinda like an invasive species able to eat up all the light and store it for resh's use. until shattering happened which was probably intentional but we'll see...
it would be able to spread easily
but even with our own candles, we can melt off the darkness from other skykids. so a giant pillar of light that is literally the centre of rebirth could probably easily hold off darkstone (at least until resh reshed everywhere)
we're so getting shattering event in the show /hj
so the reason why prairie (if you dont count sanctuary islands) dosent have anything that absorbs light is because it was too far away from eden? (im clueless forgive me)
probably! (and it’s okay, a lot of us are also clueless haha)
darkstone looks like the shared space crystal ngl
they do?
yeah the darkstone being able to exist in eden is absolutely post-resh eating up all the light
darkstone light is blue right? so its kind of similar to the shared space crystals
in topic of resh eating up all light, were the pipes leading to the giant castle in eden? so was resh hogging all the light. i didnt really see any light in the chapter
yes! :3 pipes and everything like that are seen in eden itself, even in pnr leading up to the crystal. he used light to charge up his darkstone crystal iirc
its blue but when corrupted appears red i think?
so were using uncorrupted darkstone in our sky apartments?
ooh maybe...
nooo little skykid dont get darkstone poisoning 😭
guess its similar to abestos. in our homes but it's toxic lol
I forget but I can look back into it!
I just speculate it being a time loop. Because no matter what everything is always reset after edin. Like nothing can be undone what has already been done you know? No matter how many times we go to edin, those souls were never and can't be saved.
i dont think so. i've heard paradox theory but not time loop. wouldnt rlly make sense
i think paradox makes more sense
Possibly. Either way just speculation
But paradox does make more sense too.
It's just sad that no matter how many times we go to edin we can't really ' win ' or fix what happened
We only know about two naturally occuring darkstone veins, one being in peaks and second in forest cave (where it was first discovered). Tearful light miner has memory about mining something which can be darkstone too, we dont know. It is still in forest though
Excuse me but your message gives off not a good intentions, surely that wasnt you are aiming for, right? If you have some problem, we can solve it in DMs.
?? sorry i was saying that whenever you type its like. youre the expert. i listen to whatever you have to say. im sorry i didnt mean to be rude i'll delete it
The way it was worded it gave off bit of jest vibes im sorry
Does anyone have anything about why they were taking the light creatures though?
I know someone who said it was for turning them into energy for some reason.
I'm a bit new looking into the lore and I've been making assumptions based off of the gameplay and not actually looking more into it,
yaa same here, i was like “yay the expert has arrived!l
nah my bad. it was in reference to a meme
Their light was used to power upd darkstones, especially the big one in eden
Oh-
So they were killing them basically?
I had a feeling that merchant was Stewie's parental figure
If you will excuse me I still have more tears i need to flush out from my eyes
have you seen the manta mincer aka the forest elder temple?
Thats horrible what 😭😭 surely there had to be a better way
Yah!
Yeah the contraption in forest temple is huge darkstone press and the squares around are flooded belts with darkstone capsules
WHAT? MANTA MINCER?
I just didn't think it was anything too serious, like I thought it wasn't what it looked like.
Only because sky seems like such a calm game
manta mincer.
MANTA MINCED MEAT?
manta minced light
also- the underwater labs at treasure reef
Anybody noticed there was a parallel with how both Stewie and the orphaned boy were given one last thing before their parental figures were gone? Stewie was given a butterfly, sometimes butterflies can represent change, meanwhile the orphaned boy was given a diamond shaped pendant by his mother before he probably had to leave her seeing as he hugs her tightly for one last time
I honestly feel like they had it coming with knocking the balance the life there seemed to have.
I'm sad innocent people got caught in the fire though.
But damn... The lore of this game is pretty dark
i think there used to be darkstone veins in the Treasure Reef mine but the ore veins there are all mined out now
Where you die in each run through in an destroyed castle with a large, very angrily vibrating large diamond and the only npc are all dead
If you chibi fall down there you can even see the feeder tubes to the machine
Oh my god 😭😭😭
so forest temple is basically a big inhumane artificial star factory
yep i felt the same way when i first got into the lore
Yes it was first industrial site before it moved to wasteland
one of many
i believe the mantas you free after the forest elder cutscene were once used in diamond manufacturing
It's so sad legit😞😞
So labs at treasure reef and mana light mincer in the rain forest. Was each domain used for different harvesting purposes?
so the reason why the rain absorbs light is because its polluted?
Those big uoside down bells you can find not only in forest temple were capture devices
Luca the expert helping all of us 🙏🙏💕
I had a very strong hunch getting into the game, but abyss and aurora basically confirmed it. Shattering was just an added bonus when I returned to sky lmao. Here, a small angry red rock for you
There was supposed to be one in birds nest too but it didnt make it to the game #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Who drew all of these layouts of the machinery?
In game? Likely Teth (forest elder)
I see.
Well, I got alot to look for now about the lore.
My guesses and everything were so so off
can someone list all the names of all the elders
I have this one lorechat resources copypasta, lemme find it

Don't think so. Dawn elder was against it i think, praire must have been a capture site? Idk about valley and i doubt any "manufacturing" was going on in vault, maybe just storage of, well, knowledge and stuff
prairie elder seems nice until you realize why they were capturing the butterflies in jars,, 😭
Very important note that the names are no longer canon unless tgc reuses them in TTE
Sorry, but i doubt you'd capture butterfly's for not nefarious purposes. What do you want to do with them?
And that's not... evil?
Butterflies were not processed the same way you process light for darkstone, they were only stored in jars (seemingly willingly based on prairie temple cutscene), when you burn out fabric lid out of the jars, you can make the butterflies fly out while darkstones get.. well… just lit up
sorry
I'm guessing the jars were used to open the doors in hidden forest (yknow, the ones that require our candle light to open?)
Before alef came ancestors were close with nature, we can see small villages scattered everywhere in dawn parts of trailers rather than big cities, i dont think they even thought off about killing at that time. The butterfly jars also disappear and are replaced with light processing gold jars the more you progress through realms and the amount of darkstone appearance gradually increases as well, prairie likely held their enviroment friendly status until very end or fell to darkness before the shattering even happened (people migration to golden valley etc)
Those use darkstones
This is the mechanism you are talking about, right? I did not properly document forest cave yet but I do have photos of the mechanism from there in pc too and they are darkstone based, the only butterfly jars there are used near hairtousle teen and in one wl cave, both to get up #lore-discussion-spoilers message
There's also the murals that depict boats carrying the jars to hidden forest (right after entering the first door of hidden forest, there are boats there).
You know what that sounds like to me? Almost like mario swimming in SM64
There was person who had whole essay about prairie - forest trading route but they left with increasing lorechat traffic while ago
Dear lord, hopefully they didn't get run over or something.
was that mentioned in the concept art ?
No, it's in-game.
great i must check it then 👀
Who knows where they are, I myself never dipped into analyzing those murals too much but it seems like forest was trading butterflies for darkstones with prairie in early days (before the big diamond was made), prairie received charged darkstones they used in various mechanisms and boats and forest received jars with butterflies that were processed into light to charge up those very first darkstones
Admit it Luca, how big is your excel spreadsheet
What excel spreadsheet i keep the stuff in my head
I got the terrible at math good at naming every single pokemon and remembering unimportant stuff autism
Oh wow dude, alright. Even friends who hyperfixate have some sort of mind maps or spreadsheet to sort stuff, I really respect the ability to do it without
I only have my timeline document and the photos i shared here
If anything i find spreadsheets confusing lol
Holy brain. My memory failed me as soon as I graduated xd
Fair enough, I also struggle making some I like
Butterfly jars
Did they transport the butterflies from place to place
If you scroll up a bit theres answer
Ooh 😣😣
My bad, thank you!
They've been called memory lanterns in the game
Memory lanterns have different shape
Ah yeah makes sense my bad
So it was all one big trading system between the different parts. But for all the wrong reasons.
Possibly. Maybe they thought they were doing something good when they really weren't
Killing animals and taking light to sustain, it's just all wrong.
Life in this game seems to have a balance that needs to be met, and that just seemed to throw it off so bad. Guessing by the dragons and everything
Right
But in parallel with the human world, there was a time when we justified hunting for sport
Ooh yeah-
Hmmm they likely did not see it as bad thing first, it was industrial revolution. When the giant crystal was made, it was accepted by people of eden (mural in map 1 and 2 transition room) but not much by rest because people started to get really sick and their light creature companions were confiscated to be processed into light as the crystal demmanded more and more light. At the end (just a theory) it consumed so much light that it ended up serving as beacon/artifical sun to prevent darkness spreading further (one mural in seasonal map oob hints to it too), thats why it gets dark so fast when theres blackout even when it was bright sunny day minute before
The industrial revolution is a strong theme in the game
"You cannot eat money, oh no…"
So it just kept needing more without them knowing the outcome basically. But wasn't there ways they could've avoided it or at least seen the warning signs before that?
Also in part one there was the ( assuming Prince or king or something)
Hovering before the giant crystal before it burst. Did that character have a play in the eventual explosion
It likely went past the point where anything could be done
Sorry if I'm asking questions that are easy to see btw, I have a black and white thinking sometimes and need to see outside of my own perspective
The same way we have to convince people the negative effects of certain carbon-related activities are actually real?
The old intro literally said, "If only they had listened…"
I really wonder what they were telling the people about the sickness and what the cause was.
The explosion was equal to nuclear failure #lore-discussion-spoilers message
That's interesting and also really devastating
its really referring irl worries
Part of forest was saved thanks to granma for being really powerful spirit and redirecting the shard away from her table, she is the only spirit with more than one star on cape and her table holds symbol of protection. The little forest garden has some strong magic applied too, there still are shards (just like in elevated clearing) but those two locations (and to some degree treehouse too) are only living parts of surface forest, one being protected by granma and second either by forest elder or nesting guide but this is whole new can of worms
Rest of the kingdom didnt really have that much luck
Also in edin, when you get to the last stretch. There's a lone statue separated from the others and is the closest one to the broken crystal, do you think that was the person that was hovering in front of it in part one?
As far we know nothing is left of the king
Damn...
Thank you for all of the useful info btw!
I'm now finally going to go to bed for work.😭
||nothing like reading through 576 messages||
imagine Stewie
-ing at everyone
Lamed is the same size or at least around the same size as in game (a head taller that average ancestor)
Tsadi is around 2 ancestors long if not taller according to in game models so i dunno still could be huge
i wasn't here to play during shattering and still need to catch up on the lore, what exactly caused the explosion?
Unknown right now
Maybe an overload of darkness or light? We still do not know.
Think of it as certain power plant failure in ukraine or japan
(Why are names of those power plants in forbidden words huh)
Like, for example caused by the extensive exploit of light creatures for power?
Im siding with it was a failure, either control systems failed or resh tried to pump more juice in it than he should
I think it's from the overload of light. It would certainly explain the constant beacon of light after it had shattered.
Do we know a timeframe for when that happend? like, how long has it been
500 years since the events of TTE part 1
500?
Yes canon 500 years
Ohh ty! I sadly can't watch tte because im switch exclusive, so i fear I'm missing out on a lot of lore details😭
tbh we still see there being light in dawn era going out of the mountain
could be just the light from the cycle
explosion is either overload or someone hitting the diamond real hard but seems less likely to me
Do we all agree that Vault of knowledge is just a big time capsule?
Now that I think about it... It's kind of tragic how years of research and memories have been stored, only for centuries later that the new species (skids) has no dang clue how to use or even read their language.
the series prob will show the event that lead to shattering ig
i'd be devastated if i was an acolyte there
did soneone have issues watching the seires on ipad? my friend didnt hear audio for most of the screening
Absolutely! Hopefully we'll also get to explore golden wasteland (the non green one) more. I really wanted to know what the HECK were they doing with the dark water.
adding onto this question, do we know since when sky kids have existed?
probably since gratitude
I'd say somewhere after 500 years had passed.
that's awfully short.. we YOUNG young 😭
i mean we already spawn ≈ (imo) 5 years old and are often getting reborn so yeah we're pretty young
like some sort of.. children
Tbf they are designed very much to be child-esque from the get-go.
they being children of the light?
A revelation
Hello all, I’ll be cleaning up the chat a little bit
As mentioned in the blogpost, it is not allowed to upload / distribute entire chapters commercially. Please keep the rules as stated in the blogpost in mind: https://bit.ly/SeasonofTheTwoEmbers
I did see Anxious Angler with her kid in the episode. It's the scene where the kid takes a look at a toy where the Dusk Ember is
Personally I'm planning on looking for my big sis Cackling Cannoneer in the series. That is IF I'm able to
So far I've seen Anxious Angler and possibly the Ceasing Commodore
I would not assume that's Anxious Angler, their face is not shown throughout the video and we only see that they are wearing a shawl that is much shorter compare to the spirit.
omg, the mention of that kid made me remember something
I noticed that in one of the trailers that same kid is seen with their arms covered in crystals [part where Dusk Ember is giving them a candle] while in the first episode their arms are completely clean. Poor kid
Yeah that's true.
Spirits in GW tend to wear a variety of clothing that fits their culture, the shawl can be a type of piece used there.
i saw someone find mellow musician
I was thinking about that
where did you find anxious angler because iirc i saw them walking not in a tent
I believe I found them with a kid when the Dawn Child is selling (or trading) toys
you see them in three shots I think of possibly anxious angler
one in a trailer, second where they walk away woth their child, third is when the lights go out and they're in the crowd
thank you for pointing this out, hopefully it is the kid from the first episode.
The lanterns have diamonds, not flame
Just popping in
See you later, lore chat!
noo they're gonna get darkness sick
99% sure it is, second I saw them I was like - NOOOO you're going to get sick
- you got possibly anxious angler on the right, which you see them with in the episode so very sure it is the same kid and look exactly the same gaahahah
Whatever floats your boat, I'm just glad people are having fun finding allusions and theorizing.
Speaking of boats, can't wait to see the Dawn section of the film and how that'll get translated over to the game version.
so much fun, love lurking everyone elses thoughts and theories
same Dawn Ember [part 2] is going to be a heavy hitter one considering mention to be the darker part of the serious
mhm
eheh a lot of stuff is gonna make sense during part 2
I have a silly non-cannon idea. What if chibi falling puts you into some backroom-esk place in sky. And the more you travel within the more mesmerizing areas you discover
that aren't explict shown/explained during part 1
Hopefully a parent won't become absent/die with Dawn like Dusk's did.
Ohh, you haven't watch the skyfest last year yet?
that one beginning trailer of Dawn Ember's parent possibly dying with crystal sickness on their arm
So oobs are technicallu different levels of sky backrooms
Pretty sure I did but I've probably forgotten what happened, it's been a year since that event. Please do lighten me what happened Izashiki!
Ah right thank you lurker!
i'm focusing the first part where toymaker is shown and pretend they didn't die during the rest of the ep
More information, dawn ember parental figure is really look alike with ushering stargazer spirits. And in their memory, it is explained that one day, they found a child of light fallen from the sky and maybe decided to take care of them. That child is theorized to be the dawn ember
Here's some backrooms
#screenshots-and-videos message
found the image
I keep forgetting about that figure ngl, they are so lovely from what I remember. Truly tragic.
YEAH THEM
Dawn Ember
haha yes I totally know what/who that is, yes, definitely ha ha
iirc the first aurora's quest
Dawn ember is the kid in the picture above
they're going to be the 'protagonist' of part 2
tgc stop making me cry challenge; failed
i'm lowkey anxious they're gonna show the trials
How come? Like why anxious I mean.
So... the main character in chapter 1?
Saw this week's movie, but didn't realize they have a name. How did y'all get this?
Me too, and also, i'm really looking forward for dawn ember coronation after completing the trials.
because the trials need to have only a survivor and alef was the one who won
The two progagonists are Dawn and Dusk. They are given it because of the two places they are seen in. The one from chapter one is Dusk while Dawn is the one from the picture and old teasers from last year.
plus if the boat scene showed a lot of kids and if they were sent to trials
So you are anxious people are gonna die or something?
Whoa!
It's getting a bit much for me as I'm still processing this week's chapter 😅
no i'm curious but idrk trials are traumatizing
how they're gonna handle stuff abt the prophecy
Take your time, chapters show every week and we only have the first 13 minutes of the film. You will have many weeks to fully understand as more comes out so don't worry.
First picture: The main protagonist in Part One, the one we're watching right now is called Dusk Ember
Second Picture: The main 'protagonist' in Part Two is Dawn Ember [the one wearing teal, ignore the kid on the left]
I feel like the sacrifice is always be sky main theme. Like the prophecy trials, it's require childrens sacrifice for winning the trials. The king made a choices to sacrifice himself in order to let the new generation be born. And lastly, us the skykids having to sacrifice our wl to save the fallen and spirits of ancestors
That's fair Ray! Who knows if they add the prophecy or not, would definitely be dark albiet cool though in my opinion. I'm a trials and eden uber so I feel nothing from a gameplay sense.
"Sacrifices for the greater good" my beloved trope
kind of curious if we see progression of the kingdom throughout part 2, would we see Dawn Ember slowly grow up at the same time
going by the heavy belief Dawn Ember is The Ruler
Would love to see that too. I love history and worldbuilding a lot especially in sky. But then again, who doesn't like that aspect of sky hehe.
a great trope but i won't be emotionally ok after/hj
two embers is going to make me not ok
I had a few pictures posted here yesterday (#lore-discussion-spoilers message should move it to #screenshots-and-videos heh) and now I wonder about that water source... is it actually polluted/darkwater or clean water? no way a leaking pipe towards the Vault would be even clean...
Yes I feel like it's going to be sad in the later season and series 😭
calm before the shattering storm
They've stated it'll get darker in the second half so there will be waterworks folks
fr
I've seen that as well 😆
the whole boy becoming king plot point is so directed at alef that is lowkey
Well the King will probably be involved in the dark/sad moments
We'll have to see once the second part of the Two Embers is released
yep! It was mentioned the second half will be darker
ahah i'm in danger- cit
Heck there'll be more waterfalls from our faces
the neo-lore chat (and some of the staying lore chat vets) walk out of two embers part two looking like the crying child from fnaf
Wait, if we're going with the belief that Dawn ember is The Ruler... Then WHO is the first skid???
we're not immune to part 2 angstness/j
The Dusk Ember could be the Hopeful Stewart
I think you can still consider the Ruler/Dawn as the first skykid
unlike true skids like us though, Ruler's "skykid"-ness is him being able to go through all four trials iirc
wasn't it said or theorized first skykid/ruler to be the same person
Yeah, but they clearly have PARENTS (all skids are canonically orphans)
you mean ushering stargazer?
I went on a humongous rant to myself about how it makes perfect sense for the ruler to be the first skid.
To be frank, Skykids are essentially like the evolved forms of ancestors considering they are referred to be descendants to them in some instances and originate from the same place in the scheme of thing. Think of it like how birds are reptiles I guess.
imagine falling from the sky being born in a new world only to be thrown into deadly trails, then forced to run an entire kingdom because the prophecy says so
legit crashing out
can understand Dawn having internal beef with everyone over that 😭
hey, ruler had help from the other elders, the last prophecy mural had him sharing his newfound power to them (if that's how you guys interpret it)
I meant Dawn ember, it wouldn't make sense of how dawn and the ruler to be the same person. If they really are a skid, how the HECK do they get to have parents, and we don't??
actually, maybe the "falling from the sky" part is metaphorical, since every creature already does it, Dawn is just "the Chosen One"
idunno
I always envisioned personally that Alef looked up the Elders and very much saw them as their equal even if he in question was the defacto ruler of Sky but the whole situation with trials/prophecy was like a "gifted student" situation where he internally had his doubts/mental issues over it. (THIS IS JUST A HEADCANON)
Dunno if having parents is a retcon yet. I would like to see Alef fall from the sky. Unlikely at this point?
Maybe because some ancestors (the ushering stargazer) decided to adopt them while us are orphan because... who would adopt us if everyone is basically all dead?
silly theory: Dawn Ember was entering the Dawn Temple when he fell through a crack into the trials cave, thus getting "falling from the sky" part of the prophecy because he totally did
I like superman theory (hes adopted)
burned out gifted kid syndrome
he tries to stay calm by aurafarming over the eden diamond and keep the lights on
But instead of superman they adopted Anakin 😭
He tries very hard to be the best as a ruler and ultimately it goes over his head (the shattering and hunger for power).
personally I see them as the first sky kid, I think one of the most interesting things is that The Ruler is seen flying, well levitating, like a skykid would and still alive for so many generations
I think what makes them slightly different to our sky kids is that they seem to have grown up in Dusk Ember's timeline, since I think it has been said sky kids cannot grow up?
then again could easily say the Ruler is like wearing one of those trench coats where they stand on someone's shoulders who's hiding underneath it, leading them around making it look like they're an adult
Oi, just because a spirit has the exact same hairstyle as the one we saw in the trailer, that doesn't mean they're the exact same person. 🫵
(It's like pointing at a bald guy and saying "Oh look, it's Resh")
PLEASE OMG I WOULD DIE IF HE WAS A KID IN A GIANT CLOAK
Ancestors doesnt come from same place as skids and elders
Evolved spiritually I guess
Hey, it's takes YEARS to grow, the only reason why we don't really grow is because we keep throwing ourselves into Eden.
Ancestors are neutral creatures while skids and elders come from same origin (source: tgc japanese livestream around 2019/2020)
that's a good possibility too
eden elder is just three skykids in a trench coat
source: it came to me in my imagination 🌈 ✨
I mean... we kinda do? sort of? the height gets randomized after getting a slice of the Eden cheese
Trench cost
Real /j
Y'think Alef had light charge or lost it when becoming Resh? Do the light part of sky kids come from him, or creatures he harvested?
How much for the trench so we can accurately measure the resh
Translation:
Ancestor origin: a large book of evolution pops up
Elders and skids origin: magic.
also hilarious pfp btw 😭 😭 😭 😭
funnily enough, a friend of mine made an asgore truck meme but resh version 😭 😭 😭 😭
Omg thank you my friend made me that as well 😭
Eden Elder is a skykid standing on a crab standing on a manatee /j
What is asgore truck meme im scared
Steal his look.
Wait can I DM and see the comparison
deltarune meme after chapter 3+4 came out, it's based on a gif from Open Season about a certain goat bergentrucking a deer suspected to be the main villain
The emoji reaction make it look like noelle got isekaid by truck driven by asgore
Not noelle 😭
no, that would be the older sister who gets isekai'd by Asgore's Ford F150
yes thats how lowkey what happened exp is december noelles sister
???? 😭😭😭😭
I don't really understand it either, and I played Deltarune
I played only prologue of deltarune when it came out but i played all routes in undertale and im super confused
How did we go from talking about who Resh is to "haha, funny deltarune meme" ???
BECAUSE MY PROFILE PICTURE
me 😭
i blame me 😭
would love to send the meme in question my friend made but it contains bad words and it's not mine obv and idk if they posted it anywhere except in a server im in 😭 😭 😭
I have no idea honestly
anyway the keywords are "asgore runs over dess", "open season he ran into my truck", "asgore trap remix" if you want to go search
reshs involved in that meme
Its what happens when people take a "what happened to them" and a "why did character get blamed" very very funnily.
Thats why its RELEVANT
for everyone who wants to see better
I KNOW, AND I HATE THAT THE FACE IS INCLUDED.
HE LOOKS SO DEVIOUS.
ayo that's the face of a guy who totally hit a diamond too hard
i hate this /j
Im gonna download this and send it to em.
Send it elsewhere
wink wink
though if there's a gif version, maybe post in #sky-memes? for the brevity
Aw man, to think that memes about resh coming back was not in my cards for 2025 lol
Hit diamond so hard his face got diamond shaped relief
Nah it has bad words
Would it be okay since the meme hints at violence to it? 😭 (mine has a second pic to it, nothing major)
actually that's a good point... what did resh hit in the gif anyway? the elders? the eden diamond? stewie?
your pfp 😭
In my friend's pic, the dusk child lol
Not unless the people know what deltarune is (that's the face hed make if he destroyed the world on purpose)
in the meme, it's stewie running over resh with a manatee
lore accurate
Dont mind this fossil of a resh meme from 4 years ago in this channel
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
in the source material, the hunter was just thinking, which is why this is all funny lol
True lol, I'll ask my friend later if it's okay I wouldn't want to overstep. I already told them to post it on social media but they are not one for that.
can always #contact-the-mods maybe and ask there?
...wait no it asks you to go to #questions-and-help
actually yes it's a gif with harmful tones
late but this
BASED
OH MY GOD I KNOW THE PERSON WHO MADE THAT RESH MODEL 😭 😭 😭 😭
Yeah but im just saying theyre not atrociously tall as our skykid perspective
Lameds a shortie so if we ever see Tsadi he might tower over the people but not as much as our skykid
lamed's face is gold
i thought that was sah on top lol
wait who's the second skykid, the first is obviously stewie
POV: he found out he was gonna be the ruler, but he is to young. So he comes up with this.
third secret skykid NEW LORE GUYS JUST DROPPED /j
top one has alef hair, middle looks like shivering trailblazer and bottom one looks like very tired timid bookworm
...you got all that from the hair?
yeah
honestly, considering part two's more likely to be set in the first three realms, really understandable them kids get to mischief
also lost ark in background
probably just their boat
Hang on part 2 is directly after this season right
yep
Thank god
6 months of two embers
i will FEAST
Peak fiction
Tgc really want us to have emotional damage it seems

Can you believe it guys
Six months of Two Embers
Woohoo I am so happy about this information /ref
help the next season is part 2? oh we're gonna get the whole package of emotional damage
the two underneath dawn are completely random ahwhahaa
All righty lore chat I forget: which ones resh and which is alef?
Sky: The Two Trenchcoats
Also Resh is the fanon name for the king. Alef refers to them as their younger self as the prince.
Great thanks!
THE KINGS CHARIOT SHALL NOT BE STOPPED
🙏
No way i just realized its ur pfp
Reshgore
HECK YEAH
All reshes shall get run over
Noooo my beautiful monrach 😭
Vroom vroom
Peak lore, the reason Eden blew up is because Resh ran over the diamond with a truck
Absolute cinema
Someone should make that meme with resh
If you mean the truck meme, someone did besides the photo
No i meant absolute cinema
Oh right, mb! I would love that so much ngl, could wipe that up in a sec but currently writing an analysis on sky's language. choices choices...
I could try drawing it
or just photoshop but i deleted photoshop
If you want, I'd love to see if you do though
meow
also i could try drawing resh absolute cinema sometime
"I can fix him"
Please don't, he's the reason Skykids (and the game in general) exist
TRUEEEE
Jokes on you
Me and my friends make AU versions of him that are worse ✨
we recently translated few days old interview and part 2 is NOT after part 1 (despite what was said on last year skyfest)
AUGHHHHHHHHHHHH
I assumed that for a while but man, hurts to hear it for real.
What in the chronology…
It's a canon event, you can't change it 🗣️
resh runs over the eden diamond with this yes that's my design😭
theres lot of stuff in it but this might interest some
