Maybe the Sky child retreats into themselves when they die
I’m not sure, but when you die outside of Eden, like from rain or muck or anything, you do get the black void and hugging the white light (but no ascension, idk if this was changed)
So… uh.. maybe the Sky child retreats into themself and ascends because the diamond is nearby.. or something
Can also be that as well and well, given the Heavenly Light we see from distance going down onto Mountain of Eden, I actually wouldn´t be surprised if its influence is felt across the entirety of Storm Lock.
Thus allowing us to go to it and ascend once we get our very first wl back.
I feel like in the Season of Shattering with the two ppl hugging could be the two kids we see in Sky and the Two Embers trailer
What if the memories are of two friends looking for each other before all the chaos went down? Cause interestingly enough, you can find a pair of statues in Eden in the same pose as the final memory.
Okay so, I might have some weird theories
ooo tell
well it got deleted xD
Please tell!
guys
I just realised if cameras exist in sky… so do ipads and phones…. Then skibidi toilet and other memes exist in sky
Why do phones have to exist if cameras exist?
The matter of convenience and that phones are easier to carry. But in terms of professional photography, equipment used in the field are much better to use than a phone's camera
This is now camera-lore-discussion
does it use battery tho? or some kinda fire power to operate
Cellphones like we know today are way harder to create than a camera as far as i'm aware
So camera existing doesn't necessarily imply there being screens like we use IRL
Maybe powered by dark stone
Dark stone? Is that what those technology diamonds are called
(The ones that are used to open doors, save memories and shared spaces, activated turning mechanisms, elevators)
makes sense. i mean what else it could be?
guys, what's the theory or lore behind isle of dawn's exclusion from stuff? Like, there are very few waxes, it doesn't get daily missions, it doesn't get shards, it's not included in the candle cake bonanza, its mask is not included in the eden door. Why?
Isle was always designated as more of a tutorial space for new players (even more so before the addition of Aviary, since you'd spawn in Isle first) and TGC doesn't want to add too many distractions in there
Gameplay wise, it's very sad. Now that aviary is the tutorial area, Isle should get some love
Lore wise, it makes sense. Isle is a barren desert with barely anyone in there
oh, yeah that makes sense. But why is its mask not included in eden door?
I always imagine the mask to be in the floor/isle represented by the ray going downwards
can someone remind me why the isle elder is kinda excluded or banished? I encountered somewhere about it but forgot. In the 4 person door in vault we can also see that one chair is toppled over, representing the seat of isle elder. Can I please be enlightened lolol
late to this but cameras came way earlier than phones and the camera we get looks pretty low tech
you've got a couple hundred years before the moths manage to recreate it and we get a "skibidi guide"
So, are krills bioengineered creatures? Or biomechanical and stuff?
Technically the moth equivalent of skibidi is during day of mischief-
Krill toilet jumpscare
The theory I like is the Shattering hurt the isle elder so much that he couldn’t participate in the making of the door- recall that when we meet him, his mask is broken and shattered
Well cameras were invented irl in 1816 and a camera precursor, the pinhole camera, was invented in the 1500s so not necessarily
Also, more of a side note but I believe the camera in Sky isn’t darkstone technology
hmm... in one of the memories in shard areas, there was a memory of all elders present, fighting. Who are they fighting again? haha. is it the krill? or eden king?
I feel like “the Void” is sort of a separate entity directly opposite to The Light (Megabird/Orbit)
On the back of the art book preview it mentions “conflict between the light and the void” and since The Light already exists…
Either they are, or they're just dark creatures attracted to darkness and pollution and war
I thought krills are originally light creatures that are sucked out of light. They are actually attracted to light hence when we light the platform in battefield in GW, that's when the krills come, because we turned on the 'light'.
They also arrive when there's war or something bad
E.g in the Aurora song in Golden Wasteland, there seems to be a war between the sky people (they're all spears being thrown at each other), and then the Krills arrive and everyone hides in fear
And in the Nine Colors Season, when the deer is killed off, the dark dragons come since there's no longer a powerful light creature to protect them and remove the pollution (which grew on the lake in absence of the deer, it used to be a clear lake but it became polluted)
they are light creatures that got corrupted, tgc confirms this long ago
But they said the creature that got currupted are yet to reveal, although it is the creature that carry the boat in the nintendo reveal trailer
For real?? Thats cool
Then it could be the theory of the elder mantas that got corrupted
it's the one in trailer, with one eye, just like krill
Link it to me?
Size comparison between player and Elder Manta
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxHFy9503N4 - you can see it at beginning, the one carrying the canopy(?)
Oh damn!! That is definitely what the Krill thing is
it can be bold to say that the species which got corrupted into krill has already extinct since we never encounter any of them in the game, how they got corrupted though is smthg many people have theorise which what you can do is dig up the chat since i can't tell you all of em
I think its pretty obvious how they got corrupted
This game has a strong environmental message
isn't because the eden king is sucking and storing light from light creatures? from butterflies, mantas, etc. That's why in treasure reef, they are caged underwater
Oh really? Thats whats happening?
I mean.. I guess, it could be seen as part of the taking from nature and not giving back message
Notice how the earlier levels are untouched and beautiful, with very little technology apart from opening doors and stuff, and there's animals
Then it all goes to heck in Golden Wasteland with polluted waters, pipes, more machines and war
Eden continues to have those pipes and stuff
Vault seems to be a haven of technology though, and cosmic mantas for some reason
They might have been taking the diamonds from nature, taking the fire life from creatures to fuel those diamonds and use them as tech
lolol.... idk... i thought it's common knowledge T_T the jars in prairie and underground cavern are filled with butterflies, these are stored and used to build stuff, like the doors and constructions, etc etc. (if i'm not mistaken). The corruption of the eden king is about wanting more and more
I guess so! Remember the Aurora song they use, "When the last tree has fallen and the rivers are poisoned you cant eat money"
They probably got so greedy with the technology and diamonds they kept harvesting, at the expense of the life creatures and the plants and waters
yes, exactly
And the King of Eden was the worst offender with the taking light
(Also you notice in half the elder cutscenes they use diamonds, for example the fire you give to the forest elder gets put in a diamond, or the Vault elder uses your fire in a diamond)
yes, it was even kind of used in 'games' and 'contests' in valley
Probably all that greed and environmental destruction led to war, maybe over those diamonds? And thats what happened in Golden Wasteland
The biggest most powerful diamond being the Eden one
oh about that. I watch a vid talking about it. The wasteland elder was planing a coup against the eden king. But eden king knew about it, so he attacked first. But wasteland elder was able to slay him. That's why when we meet wasteland elder, he was mighty, but sad and regretful
not entirely, the eden king isn't some sucking-power guy, hes just one of founder of the industriolization which leads to people harnessing lights from light creature to power dark stones, presumably the krills could be (imo) a result of harnessing too much light or an experiment gone wrong where they tried to monified them with mechanical parts to create a collecting-light creature which back fired at them
The butterflies are less of a creature and more of a "pure energy" kind. They don't have a rebirth cycles and they seems netural with being stored in jars
Ohh thats what happened!
True now that you mention it, butterflies never get trapped in plants
The mantas and stuff got trapped whenever there's pollution or something... Maybe krills were too big to be trapped and just got covered and covered in it?
But that doesnt explain the crabs
yes T_T that's why he was saddddd. they say that they trapped eden king in a diamond, which is the eye of eden, the 'shiny boy' we meet when we die in eden, which is us, so we (sky kids) are the eden king T_T
For real?? We're the Eden King?
that is the theory. we are the 'fragments' of eden king, which i think make sense. EDen king is the one was able to complete all trials, and who was that? us!!!
The whole sky for me is a metaphor. About coming (back) to oneself, from fragmentation to integration
there was definitely an up-rising from the elders to the king, but the aftermath war we see is another war from 2 sides: the people that doesn't follow with the new idustrialization and the one who does
Im guessing the ones who did follow it were the elders with the diamonds in their cutscenes
the symbol of the shields in GW belong to elder and eden king. Yes, eden king of course has army that's subservient to him
If I remember right
Those without diamonds:
Dawn Elder (who has an affinity with birds)
Praire Elder (Who has an affinity with butterflies)
Valley Elder
Wasteland Elder
Those with:
Forest Elder
Vault Elder
there's also a theory that isle elder didn't support it at the beginning because the eden door doesn't feature his mask emblem. The rest of the elders did probably did step in later on but was at the worst moment when the crystal in eden has gone out of hand
forest elder is crying poisoned rain in hidden forest tho, since she did not like what's happening
Oh
Or maybe it's hinting he died or got severely damaged early on? And couldn't seal the Eden door with the rest (maybe thats why there's an Eden door, the elders all tried to seal it off)
In the shattered memories he is among them trying to stop it
eden king was said to be not around to be saved anymore. Idk if they're trying to make him as a villian or someone who falls under the corruption of darkness but if the message of sky is about environmental, then it could also be pointing at the citizens of Sky kingdom who harms nature as well
okay okay, something occurred to me lollol. The reason why isle edler is kinda 'banished'. His mask not belonging in eden door, his chair toppled in the 4 person room in vault. Is because maybe perhaps he's the one who disagrees to put eden king to be eden king in the first place. WHy because he saw the prophecy (cave of prophecy). That is why the other elders' masks are on eden door because they're the ones who agree to make eden king as eden king, which isle elder is the only one who disagrees to
I dont think it's hinting he was banished, but rather he died and the others survived
idk hes presumably the oldest out of the elders
his injury is also presumably from the explotion of the crytal
okay not 'banished' per se, but just that he's the one who disagreed with making eden king eden king in the first place, hence his mask is not on eden door. There's no indication that he died XDD
I think all the elders worked together to seal it, with their magic to create a large door so nobody can come in, but Dawn Elder couldn't
And another hint to him being taken down is the chair.. literally down
Its symbolism
And his mask was shattered too
but at the end of vault elder cut scene they are all standing, alive. haha
Because you revived them all
the 4 person room in vault has 4 chair so it's hardly a symbolism. It could be that he was just... forgotten, reckon to dust since we see he has a dedicated level in the vault
it has 6 chairs, one is toppled, symbolizing the isle elder disagreeing with everyone in the 'meeting'
Although we do khow that the rest of the elders did uprise against Eden at some point
yes... according to vid I watched, it was the wasteland elder leading and planning a coup. But eden king knew about it, hence attacked him in his realm
which vid is it btw
omg okay, let me search, perhaps all my memories came from there too XDD hold on
Just remember how does Isle Elder look like when we first see him; eyeless. His mask pretty much being broken beyond recognition.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JCg3MsLPtA&list=PLWGJGHuUJ1IpZK_YQLR1FzHKhz-cG2Hl0 - haha not sure which video in the playlist. but you can watch all, it's short videos anyway ^^
I'd say that the Diamond of Eden, once it exploded, literally eradicated him and absorbed his spirit (if we presume that he too is a fallen star, thus his spirit is the same starlight like others) to the point, he is completely unrecognisable and unrecoverable anymore (hinted at by his symbol above the Shattering Diamond of Eden and the poems that TGC posted with each Shard Memory recovery, as it does say "a spirit sundered in the break").
have you noticed the new Eden gate animations at the end of each elder cutscene? it also seems to explain the reason why Isle elder's mask isn't on it, as they are the base line
okay I found the answer in one reddit comment: You see in the beta light awaits, the isle of dawn was to be played once through, and then became inaccessible until you were reborn. The Eden gate didn't feature his face in the same beta, and they never added it
so basically if i understood correctly, the isle of dawn was supposedly not planned to be accessible anytime, just at the start and as 'reborn' place everytime you get, well reborn.
I think aviary doesn't exist in beta light awaits yet, so isle became the 'landing place' only
Could be a retrofit to fit with the current game, I guess that still works, because Dawn is the journey from the dark into the realms
Well Hello there.
Forest Elder (Teth) with what I assume is the Nesting Guide.
Do we have another lore nugget about a guide being a former apprentice to an Elder?
(see the ancient lore drop about the Flight Guide and the Day Elder/Ayin)
If not, that is still a rare piece of Elder lore.
The right one does look like the nesting guide. It just reminds me, the hidden forest has those huge eggs (so...nest?) haha
lol
Another Bird-ish season
without any sight of the long lost Elder Bird
... again ...
I mean, Teth’s role was overseeing the production of black stone diamonds so the idea of crafting fits her
what do you think of the red orb in enchantment quests symbolise of?
Theory so far was that Nesting guide was a child of Assembly scouts which taught them woodcraft, and Forest Elder taught them to craft out of stone
Personally I say it's "darkness/fog/occlusion"
The same spiral symbol is seen at the Performance stage to create fog effects on the stage, and the clue is that it resides in darkness
Its jusr red light, in enchantment we get all the colours that make up light. It doesn't symbolise anything its just another natural part of the spectrum.
The blue light definitely signifies pure water, cyan for clean air, green for plants/sunlight, and orange for fire, there were semi alchemical symbols associated with them too.
The emoji don't exist anymore in this server, but

Here are the clues
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
that's me baybee
My god, that sounds horrible
Does anyone know why the rain hurts us in the hidden forests, but the puddles don't, and the Golden Wasteland water puddles do (from a lore/theory standpoint)? It's been bugging me for a while now.
There's darkness within the rain in forest
Usually any polluted source is harmful to light, unless it’s a darkness plant
The rain only seem to hurt in the forest, in the prairie when there was a thunderstorm it didn’t hurt you at all
It makes it more confusing
My guess, acid rain metaphor??
I remember the time someone made a really interesting theory,
So the depressed soldier in the Little Prince Season was drinking the polluted water (which is revealed to be called “Dark water” by the Little Prince)
In the original little prince story it was alcohol
Someone came up with the theory that dark water hurts us because it’s alcohol, meaning Sky kids are made of wax, and alcohol emulsifies wax
And wax is the main body of candles
Well, there’s a lot about him, especially with a specified piece of lore saying the child of light (you) is somehow related to Alef (might’ve spelled it wrong, he’s the elder of Eden (was since they didn’t want him in the final lore)), and also with how he also hated the Isle elder. His name is changed to Resh (might’ve spelled it wrong again, I’m far from literate) after Eden falls; in fact, Abyss tells about how the desire of power and resources is what mainly led to the kingdoms falling to darkness. They took it for granted, and that’s also what the new intro says. There’s a lot to handle about this guy, especially since the star on our capes is his given symbol.
Are star mantas and normal mantas actually related? Or its just coincidence?
Also, do we have any ideas/hitns as to what the leaviathan is? And if its related to krills, since they follow it around
I just played journey as it’s on sale, with the assumption it takes place in the same world of sky I wanted to give my opinion on the story (this is without reading anyone else’s, feel free to @ me about this)
The ancestors somehow found a way to harness light gathered from the mountain peak and use it as a power source, they were able to directly power things using it or transmit it using cloth like we see in journey, as their civilisation grew jobs emerged (as seen in sky) and their demand for light grew more and more, eventually they reached a limit on how much could be gathered and wars started to break out, as a result huge robotic creatures that scanned the ground were created to try and attack/ protect their people.
After that the mountain stoped giving light entirely, instead it became unstable and started spewing darkness as a result, corrupting the machines and turning them into Krill (or maybe looking at the machines and making krill in their image). This caused the downfall of their society with many attempting a pilgrimage to the summit of the mountain in a attempt to return enough light to save everyone, I believe this is what the main character of journey was attempting as the very first person to do so after getting the prayer of 6 of their leaders.
As time passes and thr mountain spews more darkness the nearby landscape changes as well, while the vault (which i think is in both games) remains mostly untouched the wastelands are pretty much destroyed (i think the entire of journy takes place within what we know as the wasteland, vault and mountain)
hundreds of other people all attempt the same pilgrimage to return what little light they own. doing so costs then all their life and their spirits wander where they used to spend their life.
one day in the far future from the world of journey a child chooses to start the pilgrimage, aided by the blessings given to him by their ancestors and using the power of raw light (possibly given by the spirit of the character in journey) they begin freeing everyones spirits in a act of pure sacrifice, unknowing that they will be reborn again should the child choose.
while the mountain grows ever unstable still (season of shattering) the child continues to spread light to all spirits, this time aided by the freed spirits giving the child additional light at the start of each reincarnation. maybe one day they will be able to free everyone
i don't believe its possible to undo the damage the ancestors have done to the mountain they used to rely on but maybe its possible to help those who are forced to live and die in its wake
(Woah that’s a lot of text, I’m sorry for clogging up your screen with what is probably totally stupid, if you would like to talk about it please @ me with your reply as I don’t check this server all that much)
Also, did it just... Die at the end of the quests? Its just stuck there, floating and montioless in the horizon now
Can someone please explain to me why you have to die in eden
And should I go to eden as soon as I finish with the realms?
Nah it’s fine now, you can swim down to the abyss to find it
It doesn’t attack you, there’s probably an invisible wall
Basically swim down the underwater canyon and go as deep as you can, you’ll end up in a new room with fish, you’ll spot Leviathan swimming around in the deep
I don’t know why you have to die, probably a powerful metaphor to do with self sacrifice
You don’t have to if you don’t want to, but it will get you ascended candles which will unlock stuff for spirits
Goose wonder if goose existence canon..
that actually makes a lot of sense. not sure if it’s actually alcohol, but there has to be a difference in types of water because we can swim just fine without getting hurt.
There is a difference, there’s three types of water from my knowledge
Normal water: Doesn’t hurt you, you can swim in it, and it rains normally during that one Prairie Peak thing without damage
Polluted/Dark water: Dark colored, shines like oil. Deals damage to the touch, can’t swim in it. Apparently can be drunk with the same effects as alcohol
Freezing water: From the water trial, kill’s you instantly upon touching it
Something else that reminded me, Sky children are not beings of light themselves, they cast shadows
But do you know what is? Their capes, which don’t cast any shadows even when flying
So… Sky kids are probably wax or something and all the things they can wear are light
aww that’s cute ☺️
oh yeh i had a question about shadows. I’ve noticed that when you go to look at memories after getting rid of darkness from fallen shards you can’t see other shadows. You can only see your own. 🤔
that explains y we dont see our cape when we fly and thats a really interesting thing to ponder about the different variations of smth we thought was the same
That is strange
bcoz theyre weak and poor
WASTELAND AND FOREST TECHNOLOGY ARE THE BEST IN ZA WARUDOOOOO THE FIRST BATTLE OF THE DARKSTONE WAR WAS FOUGHT IN THE FOREST SO FOREST AND WASTELAND CAN FIGHT
Anyone wanna answer some questions I have for lore?
We’ll try!
What does the light and darkness mean?
To me personally
I feel like it represents hell and heaven
Well the light is well…. Life of everything while being the heaven to most living creatures besides sky kids, most things in sky are made of light as light was used for its creation, and use for trading for goods and services. However darkness the exact opposite of light, representing pollution, evil, like the krill who used to be elder mantas who were corrupted by the darkness however at the end of Eden we are shown as both dark and light as we walk as a bridging point for them both however we don’t pollute and do bad stuff. We instead do the bidding of the light as it was our creator
Does that explanation help?
Ya, tysm
but can I ask more questions
And I’ll love to answer them as I am a nerd for have no life besides sky
Can we talk in dms tho cuz of slowmode
isle of dawn stayed out of the war…. but was destroyed in eden explosion… the isle and vault people were probably pacifists who stayed out of wars and isle of dawn is too far from eden
Yep!! Le Petit Prince
this picture frame is inersting whats the seasons guide realation with the forest elder?
YEAH HI HELLO???
(Ahh yes..time to question and put my theories together.)
Anyway, I just thought about something and it’s about the whole ‘rebirth’ thing that our Skykid can do. It’s already clear that once you die in Eden, you are given to chance to be reborn. However, the spirits that we met aren’t reborn. They aren’t even given the chance to be reborn as they are ‘spirits’ for a reason. (Which is sad when you think about it…
)
With that being said, what will happen once a Skykid is no longer able to be reborn?
I mean, if you think about it, the spirits aren’t even alive because like I said before, they are ‘spirits’ for a reason. So that has to mean that one day, our skykid won’t be able to be reborn anymore.. where will they go? My theory for that is once a skykid’s time is finally over, they will return to the stars and stay there for a long time.
I also have another theory that if they are lucky, they are picked to come back down to the world, but not as themselves anymore, but a spirit like the others.
Thank you for listening to my little theory talk! ^^
From playing journey I believe to be reborn a kid requires the blessing of a leader (the 6 “sages” (I call them) in journey or the elders in sky
<@&600489743716712458>
A question about sizing came to mind, but I think it’s best asked here, so forgive me if I’m mistaken. What is the default height for Sky Kids? Like is it like humans? About 5’8ish? I’m curious because I wanna try to get my Sky Kid to be my height or a little less than my height
The guy from the trailer of Two Embers, the one with the Air Symbol like one if the trisls
As shown here #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Am i supposed to call it light magic or what?
Anyways
I think its similar to the magic/power of the New Guide (Nesting Guide)
When the guide was lit from a statue to a spirit, he/she used some magic and restored its things the way they used to be (like placements)
It also used light so...
Do these two spirits share some light knowledge?
Just saying
Just a lil theory of mine because I back read too far 😔
That looks like the place after you meet the Forest Elder!
And also
Since Nesting guide (seen in picture beside the Forest Elder) is in the Hidden Forest Realm
Is it possible that it is also he/she that designed the Forest Palace and Engineered the making of Darkstone?
This theory also is far from the Abyss theory
Oh! and also the colored lights from Enchantment season
In the Aviary Season, there was a cutscene that Enchantment Guide used the Colored light and those flew to Aviary Guide? Did the light do something?
@unborn flume hey there, welcome to the server! as a heads up, discussing hacks or hackers is not allowed in the server. please note that hacking in-game is a violation of sky’s terms of service. i removed your comment. thank you for understanding
Living trees
Anyway, I think the Nesting Guide was an apprentice of the Elder of the Forest like how the Flight Guide was an apprentice of the Elder of the Prairie. The Nesting Guide is certainly very powerful; we see them levitate objects easily and conjure furniture out of thin air (pocket dimension? something akin to the memory crystals?). It makes me wonder if the Remembrance Guide was an apprentice of the Elder of the Vault.
i finally finished quest 1 of season of shattering . i gained one wing from it but cost me 10-15 wings in return ahahahahahahahahaha
thank you to the 3 vets who helped me complete burning the heck outta those shards. it cannot be made possible by a single moth like me

He may look spooky but he’s harmless after the season so it’s all good
Tbh, I never saw him as spooky, just majestic and interesting. The krills that almost gave me a heart attack in the 4th quest, due to having so little room to maneuver around them
@solar patio forest elder constellation compared to the real constellation Orion
— didn’t mean to add the spoiler tag
A sound effect just played in my brain because oh my god that makes so much sense
RIGHT??? So is every base game constellation and friendship constellation based on real constellations
if so, what does the other constellations represent in the real world?
Oh ok just asking hehe
So, a hunter's constellation, for the forest Elder?
I SAW THAT I WAS SO SHOCKED i wonder what their relationship is
i was thinking orion for the wasteland elder cuz they have a spear and shield like orion
Isle: Hydra
Prairie: Pegasus
Forest: Orion
Valley: Cygnus
Wasteland: Cepheus
Vault: haven’t researched yet but I’m assuming Big Dipper/Ursa Major
Here’s an older message of the friendship constellation representations
— ignore me saying Ursa Minor, that constellation is Ursa Major
OH WOW THATS COOL
Okay just a bunch of links to my older messages regarding constellations
Cassiopeia, Cygnus, big dipper/Ursa Major (first 3 friendship constellations) #lore-discussion-spoilers message

is this the explosion of the eden crystal?
Hi there
One of the 2.
guys what's the lore with KFC in sky lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L47moJ7HOe0
There is sadly no lore.
- Becuase it was only released to the China version of the game.
- It is not canon with it being a collab and one that was not mentioned in international versions of TGC's social media (unlike the Cinnamonoroll collab)
and optionally, 3. I joke about this being the reason we dont have bigger birds in sky.
Wait-
So the Leviathan might be just an extremely inbred or experimented-on elder manta? The size and this mural. Or maybe its original/more ancient than them, and they tried to use it as a basis to make new mantas and Krills?
They were apprentices, and that Forest Elder helped create me
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
The average size skykid is around 100 cm
The friendship constellations I think are the big dipper and stuff
Yep, that's a me reference
Also, there's a similar memory but with elders instead of krills
I wonder if someone could calculate the size of the big boyos in-game using this.
Like, Whales, big Mantas (specially the elder ones), krills and the Leviathan
so what exactly happens in the ending
In what ending? Eden? Or seasonal areas ending?
Thanks! I will put this information to good use
Guys is the nesting guide the forest elder’s apprentice? Is that why they’re so powerful? What is going on?
I WAS RIGHT ABT TO POST ABT THIS HAHA
I think so! They both have hammers and are craftspeople. It also wouldn't be the first time there was a guide that's an Elder's apprentice since the Flight guide was the Prairie Elder's apprentice.
Im just gonna repost everything i sent to my friend in order
i wonder if we're gonna see all the elder apprentices
Also with the way they use magic so smoothly compared to most spirits, there's no way they're not an elder's apprentice
*they
Your fine though, dont worry.
Just rehashing the mantra that spirits are presented without genders.
Leaving the pronoun by default as they/them, while also optional for people to go with their interpretation.
I have a feeling telekinesis wasn't uncommon for the ancestors. You see some vault spirts do it as well and some puzzles there imply it was needed to get to a few areas .
They do carry a lot more on their own then 3 vault spirits could together though so the Nesting guide really is just crazy skilled at telekinesis
Yeah- and also they like- spawn furnitures out of thin air- that's also one of the things that really surprised me since i don't think i've ever seen this being done without the use of big lights before
True! The Nesting guide is just full of surprises (and furniture)
R e a l-
Yo actually tho maybe they just have extremely tiny versions of the furnitures in their front pocket like the one skykids can carry on their backs but a lot smaller
They do have pants that look like they have fairly big pockets
Yeah :0
And maybe they just know how to shrink furnitures to a subatomic level to make them all fit into their pocket so they can pull them out of there with telekinesis and make it look like it's coming out of thin air even tho it's not🤯🤯🤯🤯
Also cuz tbh idk why they would need that entire workshop if they can just spawn stuff out of nowhere
Whose constellation is this?
also, flight guide just floats randomly
Nesting Guide isn't that powerful (I clear all season guides no diff), but they seem to use their powers for more mundane reasons rather than combat
It's similar to Skykids creating props out of thin air
I think that's supposed to be Skykids!
batman, Robin and batgirl
Hey guys have you talked about the current season's guide making stuff float yet
with using telekinesis to restore their shop? or specifically the floating hammer and key? cause I don't think floating items are that new since we've seen spirits float lanterns in the
relive - that power doesn't seem to pass across to Sky kids outside of opening multi doors though and fishing in aviary so maybe you have to train for years before you can float items like Nesting guide
Oh i was referring to the telekinesis thing but yeah, i was also thinking of that one spirit when i saw it.
It's like item bending if anything /j
As someone mentioned earlier they also seem adept at summoning the items with telekinesis too which is interesting, again maybe it's a talent that they've had to hone
master of all four elements and a secret fifth one, floating furniture!!
Based on the picture they have and the magical ominous floating hammer that they won't let us near, they appear to be an apprentice or something acquaintance of Forest Elder, but given that they also know
I wonder if maybe they've trained within Vault before or if all spirits know how to do that but we don't see them do it unless it's related to an event or something
Oh wait! Lightseekers also did it during Bloom to summon the growth of the flowers/trees
Now I wonder if there're any lore discussions on what that power actually is and why it has so many different uses within the kingdom
wait a minute what if nesting guide isn't just an apprentice but forest elder's child? It could be a bit of a reach, but the painting, the hammer being precious to them, their strong
ability (presumably elder spirits have more strength than other spirits so I'd guess a descendant would also be particularly strong) and here's the biggest reach if you look at the hair, nesting guide has two lil bunchies that if you squint enough could be baby kraken hair
awfully late but heres some of my notices and stuff from the pc launch trailer(which connects into tte?)
Any idea?
My lovely nesting guide did not invent darkstone they are INNOCENT /j /j
but in all honesty i highly doubt they help the invention of darkstone. maybe the items that can posses and hold it sure but they were not a lightseeker nor a vault scholar.
(but i have seen a few hc and theories that they were the builders(flight) student!)
Then what about this smol theory?
I'll look for more theories later because I am interested in lore atm
i dont believe so? light isnt really considered magic in sky as far as im aware its just kind of..there?? for lack of a better sentence(??)
But some spirits(mostly guides) have been shown to weild some form of object/fire powers (think Enchantment guide making Stewie a magical girl)
but i dont really think the scholar showed any sort of power other than authority lol
Stewie
Steward
Yes
i gotta touch up my lore knowledge though, been a HOTTTT minute
Eez ok
Rest a bit Pitchi
I think the elemental magic and light are strongly related
Oml so much lore
How do I keep up :(((
If anyone is super bored and knowledgeable abt sky lore someone should DM me a summary of all of it bc this Chanel goes too far back to read everything :[
Nah fr where do y'all get all this lore😭
With time, effort and research.
Finally, more Elder lore.
Doraemon?
Is that the Hidden Forest Elder?
Yep
I had similar thoughts here! #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I see. Yeah, tehre is definitely something funky then. Still, the leviathan is just so... Natural? Like, it looks like it was always there, looking like a living being. Krills look alien in comparison, tho they seem to follow the Leviathan
I don't know if this is the right channel to ask this but has anyone tried to explain here before as to why there are music motifs in aviary (and the current season) that are similar to the motif of season of dreams?
That’s an interesting question, I don’t know
The season of dreams theme seems to be a "village" theme
The season of dreams is a story of a village working together to make a young girls dream come true and the season of revival is a season about rebuilding a village so they've adjusted the dreams theme to be the "village theme" and the final dreams performance still makes sense when using the motif as it's the culmination of the villagers love and help in regards to the girl's dream.
Long story short, they converted the "dreams motif" into the "village motif"
Also I have a question for more chat in regards to the roles of each realm. I know that, from what I have inferred, that isle is trade(import and export of goods and a market hub), forest is construction and manufacturing, valley is city and suburban so mostly focused on entertainment and leisure, wasteland is a military district hence the pollution from toxic military manufacturing and vault is the academic centre likely being the kingdoms education research hub.
So what is prairie's role? I know it has the whole pot motif but I just can't put my finger on it
My guess is farming. The kingdom of sky needs to get its food from somewhere. Without food, the whole civilization would collapse.
I mean, the whole civilization DID collapse eventually, but it was because of environmental destruction and a huge corrupted crystal exploding, not famine. At least, that’s not how the apocalypse started. I bet there was some famine afterwards.
What are the four horsemen of the apocalypse - Death, Famine, War, and Plague? (at least according to some interpretations) I think the Sky apocalypse had plenty of those.
omg that actually makes a lot of sense. thank you so much!
I never noticed the Dreams motif before, but now I do. That’s very neat!
I think it's pretty neat, we kind of just call it the dreams motif because it originates in the season of dreams but I love how it's now a grander representation of a village rather than the initial season
Hmm that seems to fit as an agricultural realm it makes sense for it to be the most abundant with life out of all the realms.
Also I think that the eye of Eden being the capital and so close to the vault of knowledge may have been used for research and so forth which would make the giant diamonds presence and the sheer amount of pollutants there more plausible as the toxins in wasteland would be a lot more refined as opposed to the toxins released by prototypes
I love that interpretation! But Praire being farming doesn’t make sense quite yet, at least to me
Maybe… environmental? Nature? Something to do with animal usage
There seems to be a huge emphasis on the animals, the butterflies and mantas, they have a birds nest and sanctuary
And lots of greenery
And of course the prairie
I wonder why they did keep the butterflies in jars though
well, the butterflies were transported on boat to forest, where their light was put into darkstone crystals, if you note the door on the forest temple, and all the boats carrying butterfly jars there depicted on the murals around forest.
I think the only example i can remember ingame of actual farming is what looks like farm plots over in wasteland, past the ark
True! There was farms in wasteland
hiii, I have more questions about the lore
If you haven't watched this playlist, you can check it out, it can give you general overview ^^: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JCg3MsLPtA&list=PLWGJGHuUJ1IpZK_YQLR1FzHKhz-cG2Hl0
what's a motif
Yes that's why I see it as an agricultural centre farming isn't just plants
In the case of music it would be a recurring musical phrase that reflects the themes of the song. But a motif can also occur in other mediums as well, it's just something of meaning that repeats in a given work.
Sorry if that's too vague it's hard to describe
oh yeah. a motif is like a theme or a symbol?
when a symbol is repeatedly used, it becomes a motif. when a motif is repeatedly used, it becomes a theme
Yes, I wouldn't say that a repeated motif is a theme but motifs can be thought of as a theme when they become associated with something.
I'm not an expert so I may be wrong but this is my understanding anyway
Good question, I like it when I'm challenged with something like this
the towers on the islands may have been grain storage? 🤔
Like silos that seems quite plausible
their houses are pyramids!?
seems to me like theyre more very simple houses with straw roofing
The new intro is actually the original intro way from the start of the game till they discarded it in 2021 and re-used it in todays intro
Our relations with him are still very vague, while he is the polar opposite of us in the color scheme defying the corruption. He was once a skykid but had fallen to the corruption of darkness and power that leads him to where he is now
this is an old monument for the elders, right? there’s not enough for all of the realms though, so i’m assuming this is going along the lines that the isle elder was banished, or something like that?
also i love how there’s architecture from valley and wasteland
there’s some gold-topped buildings and arches that resemble the ones in the reef, near king krill’s bedroom doors
If I'm not mistaken it's the same(or similar) with the one on the last floor of the Vault. I checked on it once and it has for all realms, except Eden which I guess it doesn't count as one. So it does has enough for all realms.
(The outer ones are from Isle to GW, the middile is Vault's)
ps. sorry if I misunderstood your point
There’s a common theory that the upper floors of vault are illusory and not real due to damage taken from the Shattering, with vaults position rising through mountain of eden. Meaning the top floor we see could be the ‘real’ one that was maybe blown off in the shattering
In yalls opinion how many seasons are lore relevant?
I don’t just mean specific character backstories
But I mean gives information on a larger event, such as the season of shattering telling us how the crystal at Eden works
Seasons are in my opinion like chapters or expansions of the existing lore.
As a new season is released, the lore they share adds, changes or sometimes removes a piece of the lore we can debate from.
Some give information about ancestors, the areas, history, or potentially hints to uncovering the mysteries in the realms.
That makes sense, are you interested in hearing my interpretation of the lore? I posted it above but got no response 😂

A Pilgrimage to attain/collect Light....
Now that is an interesting thought.
It’s a pilgrimage to give light sorry it was late when I made that post haha
Everyone is trying to sacrifice but not as much as our kid or the wanderer (guy in journey) who I believe gave their body or soul
Feel free to dm me about it, it’s a bit annoying with this slow mode in place but I would love to chat to people really interested in the lore
Thank you for the ping, friends! A healthy dose of krill has been delivered
(You are fine, still gave me a thought)
What if ancestors collecting light in the realms from butterflies, mantas, crystals etc., were after the Eden shattered and was sealed off?
When the elders disappeared and the ancestors tried to keep them going with offerings of light.
Let's suppose it did help, it was not a permanent solution. One the ancestors were trying to fix.
What if they sent the fallen to Eden (as in what we know them as today, not what/who they were before the became the fallen)?
And when it was too late, and the ancestors fell themselves. Their spirits remained trapped in the realms, along with the elder's shrines left without light.
That is until skykids arrived many years later, and they were able to provide the light elders, and the ancestors needed.
Eventhough, our skykids are not able to fix the crystal in Eden. We are seemingly able to get through to it and help the ancestors ascend. Which could be the spark they needed to start a process that may help fix everything later on.
As in, our skykids are not the heroes, necessarily. But we are the ones to help prepare for a 'hero' or resolution to take place.
Yay! I hope they enjoyed being eaten/ slammed by a war machine
slowmode is sadly annoying.
But manageable at least
I had always assumed that the traditional animals we see are in fact either manifestations of light created from thr mountain or by hand or spirits of things long dead (would explain why we don’t see real animals in journey too)
I don’t think it coincide that there is a cloth variation of nearly every animal we meet in sky and journey
Yeah. Offer for dm still stands tho I’ll never complain about having new sky friends
I’m interested in hearing your theories you got
Actually, all the spirits are represented as blue transparent beings
(So in shattering you see the spirits of animals when you clear all the darkness away)
These guys are healthy and alive
Ooh ok
That’s interesting, I wonder what their relation to the cloth creatures is, I have already mentioned how I believe cloth was a mode of transportation and storage for the light (as shown in the fact that nothing in sky seems to hold light for any major length of time + is shown in murals of cloth being used in aqueduct type buildings
Cloth creatures? Do you mean the capes?
I think the capes are just decorative to look like animals, they aren’t animals themselves
And they’re made of light which is why they can store it and casts no shadow when flying
Oh wait do you mean the mantas??

Maybe not heroes, but we Skykids are definitely saviors.
The most archaic one I've heard is Conquest, War, Famine and Death.
Also, does anyone think it’s any coincidence that we see our friends in the constellations and when in orbit, you see them flying around holding hands? And when you tap on a friend they appear to come down from the Sky
What if the outer space where the Sky kids go when offline, and when online they come down to the earth? And our kid goes there when we turn off the game
So when you turn on the game they appear on the landing platform after having come down from the sky (like we do in the very beginning of the game or after completing orbit)
Sorry. I mean the creatures in journey
Made of cloth and are seemingly used for the transportation of light and for construction.
It’s no mistake that many cloth creatures have a real animal counterpart (jellyfish, birds and butterflies)
Ohhh! I haven’t played it so I don’t know, sorry
No worries. It’s on sale rn for like £2 rn
For lore relevance, I would say, depends on the lore
Elder lore
Probably shattering, prophecy, a bit of performance, parts of moments confirmed the diamond thing, abyss and remembrance murals confirmed some parts of power generation and storing memories
World building (what happened before we were there in the wider world)
Remembrance & aurora for the war, Passage quests and mask lore, enchantment murals and use of light for spells, prophecy murals, flight candles/light/bells/creatures associations
More Intimate spirit culture and community
Dreams, performance, passage, flight, enchantment, lightseekers, gratitude, rhythm, moments, abyss, assembly, belonging,
what are ascended candles made of? regular candles are made of the everyday light toy collect, like wax and stuff, but ascended candles are given by skykid spirits/maybe the elders? is it made of some kind of ‘enhanced’ light? or maybe it’s a combination of all the souls you saved?
Are Sky kids powered by Dark Stone? Seeing how most older masks have the diamond shaped crystal or pattern on the forehead
There's that orange light you collect that is left behind by the sky kids you saved, once they leave orbit
So i guess whatever that is
I think its a different material - darkstone crystals ( the small ones we see atleast ) always have that kinda dark green/blue color, whereas those early diamonds in some masks ( and even some spirit masks ) are white diamonds.
That material isn't spotted at all outside those few masks that i can remember, but i do have a theory about it. You see those white diamonds material in the eyes or "third eye" spot on the mask, and I think in a way its a symbol of some kind of enlightenment. When you look at the murals that depict this person, there's a single dot in the center of the head, which i think is symbolic of that.
( and more related sky theory below )
Sky kids are probably the closest to that, and some spirits might have been close too. But, I think that over time they began to lose that connection. My thought is that the mask lights are powered by those that wear them, and as the spirits became more and more disconnected from eachother, none were able to light those up and they stopped wearing them.
As time went on, i think they eventually replaced those crystals with darkstone that they could charge, for aesthetic purposes. Which is kinda ironic since it might be a symbol for enlightenment and they're just mimicing it with darkstone of all things
Abyss spirits wear them but they don't light up, even when a sky kid is wearing them.
oop, i lost the image, here it is
While reading a theory I came upon this interesting bit
interestingly, each of the Elders is missing an eye, an arm, and a leg on different sides of their bodies - you can see what appears to be prosthetic limbs replacing them).
Is that true? If so it seems all the elders were injured by the shattering but the Isle guy mostly
Hmm i think thats specifically referring to the valley twins - i dont think the others have damage like that
Ah okay
Also discovered that the Praire elder was confirmed to be the mentor of the flight guide
I guess in this case, forest elder is the mentor of nesting guide?
I wonder if the other elders have mentees
The theory page I’m reading is very interesting, they have concept art from abyss
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories Here’s where I’m getting this stuff from
Unless… what if those aren’t diamonds, but manta eggs they’re stealing light from
And what bursts out is monsters
Actually that’s probably what it is, they’re taking light from an elder manta and unlatched manta eggs, fueling it through tubes into power diamonds, resulting in disaster
- Definitely shows someone raising a manta until it grew up, hatched from an egg. It’s a healthy, light good creature
- They’re harvesting light from an elder manta in one room, overseen by two scientists. There’s also podiums with eggs, all of their light energy is going into the tubes which power the diamonds at the ends.
- continuation of the lab with the eggs. Monsters break out of the eggs and chase the people. Probably dark mantas or krill.
- The elder manta is also corrupted and becomes a krill or a leviathan, having killed the two scientists and escaped the room it was in. The other scientists all fled.
Also just realized, are those eggs in jars?
That or some sort of incubator
that got me thinking about how "the stars fell" according to the opening, WHICH THEN lead to me thinking about that one theory about a battle/civil war over in the Wasteland and how the shields are divided into 2 types: round with a sun, or pentagonal with a diamond
Also saw this, which got me deducing the war in Wasteland was over the power source
One was on the side of light, against industrialization (the circles). Probably angry about the nature being destroyed
The other was in favor of the industrialization with the diamonds
The wasteland elder has a bunch of circles on his shield so he fought for nature presumably
My headcanon is that the natives of the hidden forest fought alongside the wasteland elder for nature…. But the forest elder was in favor of industrialisation… leading to a revolt in which the factories were obliterated, but the smoke and debris from the explosions released acid into the atmosphere, causing permanent acid rain.
In the end it led to more destruction of nature…
im gonna draw the revolts soon
Ping me if you’re posting it please!
Hello! Why do we believe the spirits are encased in stone? And why is it situational? For example the Enchantment Guide can reside freely in Forgotten Ark but needs to be freed when we meet them in Aviary Village.
i love how there's the divide between light and dark creatures... and then there are the fish in the homespace and prairie openings
I believe it's a state of death for their bodies
How they appear when dead
Remember there was tons of war back then and darkness spreading across the land, they couldn't do anything about it and died (probably unable to escape)
You also see cackling cannoneer turn to stone when you find him inside the Leviathan (but you can free him and bring him back)
And finally when Sky Kids die, they turn the same way (all the statues of the kids at Eden, plus yourself when you're dying, you're covered in darkness)
Defo look like Krills to me while the Elder Manta resembles a giant Krill/proto-Leviathan.
Now that you mention it, yeah you're right, they have one eye and the elder one has multiple
If that concept art would be used, then it would definitely confirm that Krill are corrupted Mantas.
Which would make the first Krill attack in GW be a some sort of a foreshadowing/hint on their true nature, since we don´t see Krill attack butterflies.
I think they attack anything they can see (including crabs probably, I dont know why the little crab hid in the Nine Colors season), butterflies are too small to be of consequence for them
Hmmm ... 🤔 You do bring up an interesting point, seeing how we have a Krill that doesn´t attack crabs in the Shipwreck yet at the same time these crabs are leaking darkness from themselves~
Or maybe they just choose to not attack butterflies like that one Krill that only observed the Little Prince.
Oh yeah!
Or for the sake of the story, they wanted the prince to die at Eden so they had him get directions from a krill.. Which is really funny in hindsight
Krills can be asked for directions?
In the original book the Little Prince got bitten by a yellow snake who told him this will return him back to the stars (I guess they didn't want to show the little prince being krilled)
Still.. Sky children was an absolute perfect game to crossover the Little Prince with, he even goes to the stars in the end and we get to hold hands
I like that as a perfect little sequel, he dies but we get to follow him and see he'll be fine
But it was very sad to see the baobab trees growing in his absence and the rose dying
Hopefully he returns back in time with his sheep and fixes that
I’ve just realised that sky kids don’t have marked fingers while spirits do, with the exception of those that we are wearing gloves. But nesting spirit wears gloves and there are marked fingers.
But revival gide doesn’t wear gloves and doesn’t have marked fingers, maybe they are really one of the first sky kids.
Doesn't the Dreams Guide live there?
Did you just....
And yes, seasons have a lot of lore stuff
The gloves/fingers thing is a very funny and very old discussion, but I don't think it's consistent, it's more of a gameplay thing
However, Hopeful Steward is definitely a skykid, with their size and clothes
I @ed then due to a scammer
It just so happens that the scammers message was sent instantly after I sent my question
I think the lack of fingers in the Sky kids is due to technical limitations, or a preference to a lower-polygon aesthetic. I doubt it’s lore-related. It would be kind of funny if it was, though.
What do you think happened to the spirits of the Abyss Season after the events of the season happened? The boat is still here, meaning that it either never moved or someone brought it back. Any theories? Do you think they got stranded and died? Or do you think they were saved?
Personally, I don’t necessarily think that spirits appear where they died. I think we find spirits in a location with a strong memory from that spirit (and that is the memory we see). The real question is why is the boat still there.
That also brings up the question of what happened to the Ark spirits from the Enchantment Season. Did they get rescued? Obviously there is no answer in the game, but I enjoy reading headcanons and theories.
Spirits in general are kind of confusing. Like, did the Assembly spirits ever grow up? If so, why do they still appear as kids?
revival guide has fingers in promotional concept art iirc so I don't know if there's deeper lore to them not having fingers in game but it's interesting to consider if they're one of the "first sky children"
Found it! strangely enough the why do sky kids not have fingers but spirits do conversation came up in another server I'm in the other day
ghe music shop is same shop in violage of dreams, can get there and back through shop
Any info on megabird
I wanna talk about megabird, but I'm not sure where to start
What about it's core
I haven't gotten to that subject yet, but I'd love to hear about it.
Oh megabirds core is what you fly into in orbit
BTW the eye of eden concept art is soooooo cool
THE EDEN THING LOOKS LIKE Corrupt king
OH YEAHH
I've been to Eden only a few times, but I never understood why we never directly went to the core. I'm curious as to what is there, and why we just fly by it instead of into it.
I don't have any theories other than that was the home of the corrupt king before the Shattering, since it's usually what I see from other realms while looking at the Eden Shard peak.
Plus, it kinda does look like a palace honestly.
Does it reside right above the Eden Shard? Was it the former containment? I'm not really sure haha
Here, there's a better picture
I have an even better picture!! I can definitely share it here since it transferred over to Live, but I initially found this in beta; in Hermit Valley, when the lightning flashes, you can now see the full Eden PNG
WHOAA
Fellow lore enthusiasts, have fun
Wait there's a lore channel! neat 👌
RAHH
Wait, how many times does the game show/hint at the megabird? from what i've seen i only know of the mural in the lake, around the archway that leads to the office
You can see an image of them in Orbit/before being reborn and near the end of the credits if I remember correctly
Multiple things. I’m sorry I’m using this as a banner
And second I really wish sky would explore more with Eden’s lore. Like why does this happen, what is this place other than getting AC from I really want answers and it suck’s realize that we might never get clarification
I'm really hoping we may get some more info in The Two Embers(please TGC give us a release date I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure)
Literally 😭😭
"the prince wakes up and rescues you by flying you out of the king's body"
wait! so there's eden king and prince? What does it mean when it says 'king's body'? Is the whole eden the body of eden king?
guys, is the whole eden, the king itself? and 'eye of eden', refers to his actual eye?? O.O
ok based on this, the king is not the whole of eden, but apparently, the prince (the shiny boi we see after we die), is inside the eden king's body?
Does anyone have information or (more) official concept infographs about Motes? This is unfortunately not official ): and Im not even sure who the artist is
Guys, apparently, there's an actual eden elder different from eden king:
"The Eden elder isn’t around to be saved anymore
Sky kids and elders aren’t the same or different species
The elders were elders from the beginning, and children of light will not grow up to be elders. Children of light are of new generation
In the intro the stars surround an individual who doesn’t fall, there’s also the Eden elder who doesn’t fall from the constellation with the rest of the Elders but emerges from the clouds (intro)"
This is fan art, last I recall.
https://twitter.com/eeden_Cafee/status/1557569149139918848?t=VyiOetqxvklKiAouvEI4Uw&s=09
There was an early concept idea for Sky that mentioned Motes.
These seemingly (as how I interpret it) was an early take on what eventually became Winged light for the game today.
The King was most probably the missing elder of Eden.
They were the only elder cut from the game based on concept art for them (unless you would like to include the Sky Prince).
And yet, the game still hints at the King with the murals and other obscure references to the king in the game.
hm.. i don't think so, "The Eden elder isn’t around to be saved anymore" is canon
Here is an early concept art that mentions these motes.
Interestingly enough, the word "mote" is in fact mentioned in the game.
- In the season of performance's first quest, where you follow a story by the forgetful storyteller about a star falling and breaking into motes.
Lore hint (canon):
Prince and the King kind of exists, but we leave that up to you to interpret their roles in the lore
But what im wondering is just where did that artist get all the information from to make that art? Surely theres some kind of further information on motes somewhere...
so yes, they are separate from eden elder, who isn’t around anymore
Oh thank you! Is that from Tom Zhao's page?
That is true.
However, it does not disprove the references at the King once existing in the game.
The phrase about the King not being around to be saved is a reference to a cut section in the game where the Devs were once intending for the King to be in the final area of Eden.
The concept art mostly shows this, even though it may not have shown how far the devs actually got before they ultimately scrapped the idea.
no no, elder and king are different, eden elder didn't descend from the stars. Prince and the King kind of exists, but we leave that up to you to interpret their roles in the lore. The Eden elder isn’t around to be saved anymore.
elder are ancient beings, different from kings, prince, skykids
There are a lot of references to the King and Eden missing this elder for that not to be the case.
Resh/King is the only elder removed from the line up of elders. And Eden is the only realm without an Elder present (at least that we can recognise as such).
I am honestly not looking for an argument.
Just laying down the evidence and info I learned about the game as reason why I do not agree with the statement that the King is not an elder.
lol I'm also not looking for an argument. I'm merely sharing the canon statments made by devs, which includes:
"The Eden elder isn’t around to be saved anymore"
"Prince and the King kind of exists, but we leave that up to you to interpret their roles in the lore"
These are their exact statements.
Basically they are saying: no, eden elder does not exist anymore.
Yes, king and prince (kind of) exist.
"does not exist anymore" - means they are not here in the present.
It does not disprove that they did exist in the past.
anyhoo... to each his own lol. For me, based on their canon statments, eden elder isn't around to be saved anymore. Prince and king kind of exists. Note that they specifically used "elder" and "prince" and "king". Eden elder is different from prince and king. anyway, we can all believe what we want according to our research and interpretation. good night all. I have to sleep haha
Morality in sky is quite literally black and white
yeah but other guides reside or work there too right? maybe she's a mayor or something haha
(also, this channel seems a lot of fun to explore. cant believe I never bothered to check this out)
Not exactly true
I felt a little disturbed blowing up dark dragons in the final quest from last season
when they could possibly be kin
I think the spirits died at a similar time period as their memory, at the very least. Maybe it's not their actual last breath, but they would die pretty soon after that. The Enchantment and Abyss spirits probably died a horrific a gruesome death being stranded
Forgotten Ark as well, and there's symbols of them
No the shiny thing is mega birds core and i know that it's not his body
"isn't around to be saved" is just a really nice euphemism for "gone kablooey"
And I know it's not
His body
What's the difference between the core and the body?
It's so many names, but none of them are here in the present; the Eden Elder and King both died and became destroyed from the world (thanks to me), so they're probably the same people
Also, I saw this theory online, what if the prince is the king but corrupted, and not two different characters?
As in he went through the trials, came out a king
Discovered industrialization and corrupted himself… while the prince, what he used to be, is now inside him as a small part of him
(As in he got corrupted like how the light creatures turned into dark ones)
I haven’t seen an implication that the prince and the king are father and son
could the prince be the little prince?
not really
The prince refers to a figure mentioned only explicitly in concept art (and I think some article about the Two Embers animation)
that is a figure from the history of the Kingdom, often presumed/theorized to be both the first skykid and what would become the corrupt king of the kingdom
The Little Prince is a character from a collaboration, not intended to be so influential on the history of Sky, and with debatable canon-icity either way. The Little Prince in Sky seems entirely different and alien from all other figures - both Skykids and Ancestors/spirits - like he himself is just a fragment of a story that has somehow come to life.
I know how Eden is kinda the place where we 'beat' the game (not actually, but it is the point where people kinda assume that's the game and that's it) and it's kinda ironic that it's called 'Eden' since 'Eden' is literally 'Paradise' but what if that was done of purpose??
What if the name Eden describes/represents what happens after we do Eden. We get reborn. and in some cases (at least for me) reborn/restarting can sometimes equal peace, or letting go of something. So on the outside, Eden looks intimidating for Moths (which yes, is very scary for Moths in most cases) but it's what happens after it that may have gotten it it's name. If I'm wrong and there's actually a deeper reason why it's called Eye of Eden that's more accurate, I'd love to see my theory be disproven, as it's exciting to make new theories
If that would be the case then why isn't there any greenery and nature in eden?
Maybe it was intended to be their Eden, their kind of heavenly place that all went completely wrong
Or it has something to do with how they can ascend to heaven? Idk
maybe eye of eden was supposed to be eden but ppl fought over it
Or my assumption, it sounds close enough to evening so that it fits in with times of day
-Isle of Dawn
-Daylight Praire
-Hidden Forest (idk what time of day but probably between noon and afternoon)
-Valley of Triumph: called Sunset before June 2019
-Golden Wasteland: Called Dusk before June 2019
-Vault of Knowledge: Called Night before June 2019
Which makes Eden… Evening Midnight
could hidden forest be Twilight
Nah, it would be weird to break the chain of times of day
Plus twilight = Dawn or dusk
huh
At least I thought evening meant midnight until I looked it up (I’ve heard people say Good Evening at very late night so I don’t know why)
(Day coming from midday)
maybe hidden forest could also mean day...
True
It could be the two types of day..
I do have a personal theory that there were probably a lot of Light plants around the Crystal. A garden, if you will. All potentially feeding into the Crystal(since we've established that it absorbs Light at a decent speed) but when it went into overdrive after the explosion, it ended up wiping a lot of them out. When they were all gone it started sucking up all the Light from the surrounding areas and leads to present-day Eden being essentially barren.
Yeah, I agree
I agree too, since (imo) the red mineral shards are some kind of waste or debris, shards of the red crystal thingy that goes more and more into overdrive (when we have little events of cleaning some area for example a shard goes weeee and really far into another place and sip the light, expand etc if we don't make a moove)
Oh yeah something I also remembered, the golden wasteland had the giant same tubes as Eden (for draining light)
I wonder if those tubes go to the giant diamond or not?
Also according to concept art, the giant bones in wasteland are whale bones
Could the shards be toxic?
oh!! this is likely and makes sense
Also reading the memory of ushering stargazer makes me wonder if this is the Prince
The Ushering Stargazer spots a falling star streaking across the sky and rushes ahead while their friend lags behind. What lands is not a star but a small child - curled up and unconscious. Concerned, the Ushering Stargazer urges their slow companion to hurry up and come closer.
At the end of the memory, the two Spirits stand over the fallen child who begins to stir. The Ushering Stargazer and their friend give each other an uncertain glance, wondering what to do with their discovery.
This is very speculationy but I wonder if we can connect some of the spirits stories (and murals) to find out about the prince
-The elders came down from the sky, the prince came much later
-He discovers he has to go through trials from the prophecy season and comes out on top
-He discovers the power diamonds and blesses his people with industrialization
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories also has a lot of interesting info/theories. It's also mentioned here that king and prince start to split into two people
Oh!
the explosion of the big dark stone the king was trying to make injured the elders and made them sort of half-dead, that's why when we meet them, we give them light and they get a 'glow up' lol (I think, if my interpretation is correct)
We reenergise them with our light, like how we do it to injured players
nice compilation: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyGame/comments/gk9pch/comment/fqq4lsn/
Thanks!
it's interesting that the initial concept for hidden forest involves an ancient(shaman) who led skykids to the wrong exit in a maze.
Lore hints from Ash:
“A fun crab lore fact: there's a specific reason for the way that Sky's crabs walk the way they do. their walkcycle mimics something...
Its the walk cycle, but what that mimics is also relating to what the crabs are, technically. How crabs are born/made/created/come to be. What are crabs 🦀”
WHAT?!
Well they don’t walk like.. real crabs, those guys sidestep
yeah, interesting.. what is it that it mimics? it relates to what the crabs ARE. hmmmmmm
When they say that, it makes me think
Crabs —> Crustaceans —> Arthropods —> insects
(Insects and crabs are both arthropods)
So in this case are we saying insects evolved to crabs??
(Known as carcinization which is a meme “Everything evolves into crabs”)
sky crabs basically looks like a rock with 4 legs that walk forwards instead of sideways. what does "walkcycle" mean anyway? is it the way their legs move or the pattern or route of their walking?
Walk cycle means the animation loop of them walking
So like, the animation itself
oh okay, thanks. it's also interesting that hearts come out of them. Like when you topple the 'pot' with crabs in the bonfire in wasteland, hearts come out of the crabs. And also the fact that we can pick them up like plushies as well as ride them in aurora's concert
"the king is no longer in the game" is no longer in the game
Classic double negative does not make a positive
Wonderfully
Old Aviary I miss the pillars and bunting
No
Its old prairie
Oh that was before aviary?
Very dusty screens
Yes, this was before Aviari, but the screen is new. This can be seen in the new shaders
I'd be careful sharing hacked screenshots here
This is old shaders
Definitely the old capes
They dont use these anymore due to issues caused by the textures
It seems they justified this by increasing productivity, but if you remember the main award of the season, PASSAGE, the question involuntarily arises...
I never seen that cape so I looked it up and Im shocked
А
These are the most common capes in the Light Awaits versions. As you collected emotions, more patterns appeared on your cloak.
What are these fluffy creatures by the way? I remember asking at the time and others were unsure, maybe a sheep
I think in that early build, there were no winged light, and you would lose emotes when hit
Passage critters, people have said that first mask is a sheep / goat
Second quest a giraffe,
Third quest a monkey
Fourth quest a raccoon
I don’t remember exactly, but it’s true that you lost your emotions
Oh
That image is so cute!!!!
Hidden Forest was originally called Rain.
1 - That is hacked content (the halo/crown)
2- The Journey model itself has been removed in the beta in 2019. Meaning that hackers can be seen using this as well.
3- While you can get the cosmetics (mask, head piece and cape) wiht IAPs. This particular model is Hacked content
Last but not least
<@&600489743716712458>
Apologies for the misunderstanding.
The reason why we did not get the actual wayfarer from Journey is because TGC created Journey.
However, as far as I understood the situation TGC cannot use the chatacter model without infringing on the copyright with Sony.
The Playstation pack in the game today has cosmetics that resemble the character, but does not use the actual model.
Hope this helps.
So wait
TGC, because of copyright, cannot use their own work ?
This is implying they ever want to use the actual Wayfarer model. TGC still wants to keep a certain cosmetic-based Skykid look, and a Wayfarer model would just work, move, animate differently and stand out.
Even if Sony is the copyright owner, obviously TGC and Sony are in communication and TGC has the licenses to use the IP, otherwise we wouldn't even have the Journey pack.
Yeah i always thought it was a design choice since it looked way different than sky kids lol
Hello Lore chat! I have a lore question
Are the mantas in vault ghosts or illusions?
Uh.. well.. they're called... Spirit Mantas or something? I dont know
Cosmic Mantas; I´d say they´re spirits.
While ones from the Ultimate Remembrance Prop are illusions, projected out of the thing (as the thing is apparently called Manta Projector Prop).
Personally i think the cosmic mantas as projections too but it kinda depends on how far you want to take the "vault is a projection" theory
I do still find it interesting how, after the Elder cutscene, we find ourselves back in the ruined version of the Vault, but with one of the walls opening up to reveal the way to the Eye of Eden.
I saw a lore theory about this here and it went something like this: at vaults 4th floor there's that one smaller cosmic manta u can meet after lighting the candles circling a pile of bones. So the theory went: that might be the spirit of that Manta who had guided us in Hidden forest, and who the wastelands first Krill attacks
i find this theory so cool and that small manta such a cute companion who skykids meet along the way
The pile of bones would then be that manta's bones, from which the spirit manta rises. So i think theyre spirits/souls/memories of mantas
How nice that these bones are then surrounded by candles and that this Manta gives us Cosmic Manta call/Memory Whisperer spirit.
What is this ? Like a movie? Or some new in-game thing coming up? Lmaoo I'm confused
This is just a guess I am making based on comments and older videos of people and some information from online.
TGC developed Journey with Sony funding them for the Playstation 4 release.
The production process was overseen by Sony (according to a documentary video of the team working on the game and the pressure they had while pushing to have the game released after some delays).
Assuming that Sony would also have rights to the characters on their playstation platform at the time, there is a possibility having the actual wayfarer character in the game could have lead to legal trouble down the line.
Either that, or it is also possible the style of the character stood out from the game and thus was best to scrap the character from the game. This could also help support the claim that Sky is a spiritual successor of Journey and the in game universes are not directly connected.
What I believe helps support the former is the Journey pack being released as in IAP alongside the release to Playstation.
Whereas similar packs with content related to third parties have (presumably) some share in the income generated from their relevant IAP packs.
The realm is described to be dream like. And the call for them comes from an ancestor spirit called a Memory Whisperer.
Not to mention the old name for the realm was Night, which implies these could be called Night Mantas (not canon, speculation) as opposed to their counterparts in Day as Day Mantas (is likely canon).
It is not certain whether these spectral Mantas are projections of mantas from memory, as implied with the ultimate reward from the Remembrance guide. Whose lantern is able to create these mantas as projections when activated.
Or spirits of mantas who live in the Vault as their sanctuary.
Or even just projections made of Ancestor Magic from the Blue Diamonds (which loops back to the memory suggestion).
You assume TGC would make such a risky move and release a pack explicitly based on the IP owned by another company, and just blame it on 'look at the differences'?
They 100% have the license to include Journey content in the game, and Sony is 100% getting a cut from it, be it a flat one-time licensing fee or a percentage from every sale.
The decision to make it Skykid-shaped cosmetics and not an actual Wayfarer model is an art direction one.
In a closed beta, I would not know.
Hence the assumption.
Why is the Little Prince blue after the season ended?
Because the copyright.
Even though we still have the Little Prince in spirit, TGC (assumingly) were allowed to do that as long as they dont have to pay for the right to include the boy wearing green. Because that would be them treading into copyright territory.
Back to the Journey character.
TGC may be the creators and developers of the game.
Sony also oversaw the production process, and was coded on their software.
This is where the situation could be more complicated than the case with the Little Prince.
However, it also depends on what agreement TGC and the third party have agreed upon.
I may not know the specifics.
However can deduce from other third party collabs how TGC are able to feature content in the game.
From the likeness of Aurora herself still existing in the game after her collab ended with the season, and encore concert. To a cape, mask and hoodie based on the colour and pattern/design by Journey.
I also read a theory that vault's floors represent the realms, first floor would then represent Isle of Dawn, 2nd floor Daylight Prairie, 3rd floor Hidden Forest (where there are also trees!), then 4th floor Valley of Triumph (altitude changes and lots to do), 5th Golden Wasteland (creature bones and not much else) and last floor representing then vault itself. Idk how this is relevant but just a piece of theory i thought to share ab vault
Also im new to posting to lore chat but been lurking, sorry for sharing someone elses thoughts from a while back i think
That one is interesting, especially when considering some of the hidden details each floor compared to their realm.
Floor 1 is Dawn, which does not have much. But like the realm, it is where you start your Journey up to Eden.
Floor 2 has doors and some shelves that echoes the jars stored in the Day elder's temple.
Floor 3 has a tree that connects it and the ancestor caring for it to the Forest and the Lightseekers known to care for trees.
Floor 4 is more elaborate, with platforms that vary in height as well as the mantas circling the platform (a possible nod to the races).
Floor 5 has not much aside from bones that references the Graveyard in Wasteland. As well as the connection with the massive creature that in habits the floor. (I know they are called whales, or elder spirit mantas. I am not sure what their canon name would be atm).
There is an argument though that these connections may not be very strong (namely the levitation ability on floor 2 for Day could also be related to Forest).
But it is still an interesting theory for folks to explore.
Yes! Im going now on a mission to vault! And this representing realms theory is supported instantly how havent i thought more of these, after lighting the first floor's elevator crystal we get this symbol (photo taken in floor 2 but before lighting the Crystal again!)
Then next cutscene after "completing the level 2 of vault" is about lighting next symbol which is prairie elders jar
This must be very obvious to longer time lore enthusiasts
but i havent rly thought these realm symbols actually like this and been skipping cutscenes lol
The game likes to make these little references ❤️
This is that little spirit manta i was talking about and their...little bones...
If those bones are that spirit manta's, these bones look like they have 6 thingys like the big spirit creature here, so maybe the bones are this creatures..? But ive been wondering, If that smaller similar creature is its child on the left? Theyre always close to eachother
yea, the bones (with the candles) is said to be the bones of the manta that 'guide' or go with us in forest, it was the one killed by krill in GW because it kinda 'shielded' us from it. And these are its bones now in vault T_T
Ok so the reason i went on a mission to vault was to also note the temple shrines and doorways, just If someone is newish to lore & like me and havent paid attention to half the stuff unless mentioned
so, has everyone noticed how the elders are represented here (and in their own temples)
i love how the valley twins are that split one and how vault elder is the shrine, looking like gathering them
I remember that theory where valley elders were one elder but got split
(Extra support for this, both of them share the same Hebrew name)
So when talking about realms & elders represented in vault its so interesting how in the final floor they come together, asking for skykids help with the corrupt King. (Sry if this is obvious and spamming i just took lots of pics lmk if its too much
) The symbols between floors turn to these mural like star constellations in the cutscene and for me the floors representing realms is confirmed by them
I find it interesting that in GW, there are shields with diamond design and sun design. The Wasteland elder is shown to be holding the sun design shield. And so that goes to say that the diamond design shield belongs to eden king army. But diamond is also not NOT present in the elders, as seen in their shrine in vault (diamond hole). And the sun-like symbol is the hieroglyphic representation of the eden king.
Its the darkness vs the light
Good point.. now I’m more confused
But the forest and vault elders have diamonds (both on their masks and cutscenes)
Also the elders are shown in the doorways which i noticed way too late so sharing if someone is like me
in Eden door theres that diamond shaped thing on top, is it King or Prince..?
If yall have any questions I can answer them
precisely haha. That's why at first I was like, who represents the sun shield and diamond shield again? lolol. because both sides have both symbols
also manta bones in forest make noise when u clear the darkness
The sun Shield represents people who want megabird to live and the diamond represents the people who want to have technology aka basically everyone. Megabird was dying because in order to make diamonds to power Machines they had to kill creatures of light which would interfere with the cycle of rebirth
Oh yeah! They were taking away from the natural order, that’s what was killing it
So the sky children giving light to it is what’s healing it
It's not that it's a bit different
oh! I see. so... GW elder is pro-megabird. Is forest mama pro-technology??? O.O
From vault elders cutscene memory and the star mural constellation thing behind them here makes me think, did vault elder save the light creatures spirits somehow since theyre most already there when we go in vault
like vault of knowledge is storing the knowledge from kingdoms past, holding so many memories, but the spirit mantas may be specially dear to this elder
Because the people of sky was killing mantas it them with darkness and consumed them but megabird gave life another chance so she created a new Species called children of the light
The technology was the diamonds and in order to make them they have to kill things like mantas
No they actually did the opposite all the elders ordered imprisonment of mantas and having them killed the mantas in Vault of knowledge are just ghosts of dead mantas
and the vault elder actually had the most mantas killed
Also looking at this pic's right side, there's birds! Next to them will show Eden king, so i think those birds are skykids going on a mission
yes, and they have to cut trees too. The rotating machine thing in forest is said to be a mant@ juicer T_T
What if it’s actually displaying memories of each area like discussed? Since the vault of knowledge’s job is to store and display memories
Like.. how we follow memories of spirits
Maybe they captured the memories of the creatures of each area before they died
Not quite
Oh.. maybe the vault elder then is so sad in their scene because of regret🥺 and keeping the spirit mantas there close to them..
It kills mantas but it only crushes stone the mantas are just drained of light
Kinda like how we failed to save Dodos from extinction but we kept them taxidermies and wrote about them and stuff?
Except in this they get to experience stored living memories
The diamond objects storing memories of animals, while Sky kids run around experiencing unstored memories of spirits in the worlds
what happens to the mantas afterwards? I've read somewhere that after the 'juicing', the mantas are burned and this is the black goo poisoned water stuff we see in GW T_T
They aren't "juiced" but rather drained of light and the black goo aka Polluted water is actually polluted from the factory in the forest temple so idk where you got that info
Any other questions
Btw i loved seeing this recently: 7 days of Sky - tgc sharing concept art of realms (a while back), it is super interesting so i thought to share If someone hasnt seen it! https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Seven_Days_of_Sky
Can you answer mine about the storing memories thing?
haiii lore chat, just came in to say all ur theories r very cool and valid !! keep it up !!
"juice" is just metaphorical word lol. It means the same, the sucking/draining of light from mantas. But yeah, the black goo is most likely the polllution from factories and not from 'burning mantas' bodies'
There is currently no information on how they stored it. but vault of knowledge is said to have all the knowledge in the relms
What about the creation of Krill’s and Leviathan?
that's a good one
It is said that the dark dragons have been around forever because of how dark and light has to balance same thing with the leviathan
these are canon statements from devs:
Livestream 6:
“[Vault] becomes like a dreamlike journey (...)” question: how does the elevator work “(...) left it up to interpretation (...) is it real? Is it a dream? Well later in the level we do have something to hint at that” from the livestream with the Vault’s dev Atlas
“I wanted to make Vault kinda like a dream or memory and the memory is not like things in the real world and the memory is not isolated from the real world. The world in other levels. And you can kind of see connection between that and that.” Atlas talks about the manta shout as an example “and they [the mantas] also gives you a hint about that." then Robert says “So the mystery remains” (hage note: here Robert may be referring to the question about the elevator)
7 Days of Sky: Vault of Knowledge
"There are many interesting props we designed for the area. Lots of valuable information was stored with the hope that it would be used by the future generations."
"Not only was this area filled with manmade structures, we also wanted to transition the level into a more magical, dreamier space. So we made it transform into a more organically magical space as you progressively move higher."
Yep
As far as i'm aware we are given no info about the levi and krill
We know that
- they were present during the war time in GW
- they existed in treasure reef back then too (murals + angler memory of a small krill)
Yep
maybe vault is like some akashic record type of place, it's dream-like, it's a representation. It stores all kinds of information and history. Just like akashic records
It's magic 👻
wait wait, what's leviathan?? Is it in the game??
The massive creature at the bottom of the abyss in treasure reef
It doesn't have an in-game name, so you'll see many names give to it
Leviathan, king krill, 1000 eyed beast are the ones i see most
oh.... thanks
Im back
dear megabird, do you know what the dev means by this?
Lore hints from Ash:
“A fun crab lore fact: there's a specific reason for the way that Sky's crabs walk the way they do. their walkcycle mimics something...
Its the walk cycle, but what that mimics is also relating to what the crabs are, technically. How crabs are born/made/created/come to be. What are crabs 🦀”
No I have no idea
Let me look into it I will see you with a detailed explanation in 20 minutes
o wow haha. Thank you very much ^^
ok i have a couple of questions
why do skykids have masks? and why is there a winged light inside of king krill and on various shattering memories?
Ok I can't find any info sorry
Masks are just for astetetic purposes the wl in the leviathan was most likely from when it attacked the people in abyss and the shattering memory's is probably actually the king
no prob, thanks ^^
But I can answer other questions (ФωФ)
theres a winged light inside the leviathan???
Yep
Yes, we're all very dangerous to beings of light
I saw here before(like yesterday?) lore talk about how "Prince helps skykid(?) escape from King's body." (Something like this) And discussion like is Eden then King's body or his palace. Im looking at this pic from vault elders memory cutscene, of how the King is pictured, and it is quite weird?! He is huge, and to me this composition looks like Eden itself
What do you mean?
The king is still in the game lol
ngl he looks like he's lowkey imprisoned
The Two Embers, if that's what you're talking about, will be a show
Uh who said that cuz it's false
Lol
They're no longer in the present, but it just means they were destroyed
Yes
We might see their past events referenced, but they can't exist in the present
Unless the winged lights are parts of the shattered king
I know the king doesn't exist in the present
Wasteland Elder was on the sun shield side, but the war was so costly and destructive that everyone lost
(ToT) it's sad
For Megabird: here was part of the discussion ab "from King's body" (hopefully u dont mind ping
)
Guys I called the kings mom fat help (he is mad)
But yeah im just speculating myself since the pic i posted looks to me bit like King is pictured as Eden's insides kinda. Idk If that quote is false or not
Well speculation is very good
WAIT A MINUTE LOOK
Zoom
Enhance
Omg ITS FAT KRILL
i thought u got a 💡moment ab some King lore 😭 ...not the Prime Krill
Lol
So i quickly made a thing
for the hypothesis is Eden "King's body" / does King represent the whole Eden
its so interesting to me how similar these designs are and id like to think it can't be accidental! Like idk yet how the King can be Eden but just thinking... I lined up the images from the star on top, and theres for example crown like stuctures at same place. If devs have said Prince and King exist but its up to us how to interpret them in story, my interpretation maybe is that while smaller spirits are trapped in stone, so is the corrupt King trapped in Eden still spitting darkness to the world (shards)
Like yes it rly does look very cramped in there inside a structure, no wonder he's angry
but why is Kings mouth open in that lowest pic (vault elders memory), and he's holding an orb, is he consuming light? Of skykids or what
ok now i stop and go play
maybe he's literally trapped in eden like something from monumentmythos
maybe hes trying to consume all of the light?
1 more thing, so someone said here after that king=Eden? discussion from yesterday that, is eye of Eden then King's eye? And in my edit of the pics together, Kings eye looks like it lines up with that diamond shape of Eden map 👀
Thanks for chats lorechat i gtg
speculating is so fun
where??
Wait a minute...
the sky kid vs. the king’s size… dude… he’s huge i never thought about that, is he is some big mech or something
Some concept art of the king is pretty interesting in that his face shows a small silhouette in its center
lol I was the one that put forward the thought that could it be that the shiny boi that we meet after dying in eden is the prince inside king's body?
based on this concept art here, take a look at the bottom, it says:
"Act 1: The prince wakes up and rescues you by flying you out of the King's body"
The concept art for the corrupt king also looks like he's really huge haha.
Oh hey bottom right has that concept art i just mentioned
I just saw this. wow, great job, haha. And the diamond does kinda align with the king's eye. Perhaps the 'eye' of eden really refers to the king's actual eye 👀
This makes me think that if the King is Eden then perhaps the Prince is trapped within the diamond that's powering the corruption of the King/Eden and when we die/lose all our light we get sucked inside where the Prince saves us
the tiny sillhouette in the concept art of King (middle), isn't that the sillhouette of the prince? O.O
I'd assume so, omg Eden mecha suit
||:could the prince be the child of light who hugs us?||
Thank you!! for inspiring lore knowledge! I tried to find the comments about what i was telling forward but couldnt find, sry!
The things u share and shared yesterday are v interesting i started to speculate ab it 🤭
I see that now!!! Omg, so cool, My theory from now (thanks to all who talked ab it) is, that silhouette might be the Prince inside King!! like inner child..?
Haha thanks!! I wanted to study the composition of Eden map and that star mural style King like that to compare them
and yeah i dont know if its actual eye or symbolic Kings eye or whatttt, but anyways im now like "coincidence? I think not
" lollll
it looks more like the prince on a pedestal/stage, but symbolic in the shape of the 'king'
haha it is my headcanon too, so far (unless we encounter other info). That the prince is the innocent, pure child aspect or perhaps 'true light self' of the king, inside himself. he's the 'shiny boi' we meet after we die and take his hand T_T And he joins with us and "flies us out of the King's body"
Oooh ur right!! It looks like a pedestal indeed, im thinking if the Prince is a young person starting to turn bad (like going thru the realms all innocent first and then facing bad and decisions, growing..), in that shape it doesnt say corrupt King just King.. did Prince turn to King who lost his inner child somewhere deep within
Ooohhh thanks!!! It's so interesting to find out this lore more, ive heard ab Prince & King, and played sky long but havent spent time studying lore that much. Now im so in
oh!! could be!! when the corruption happens, the prince sillhouette is gone, possibly lost, buried inside. And the whole thing became the "corrupted king's body"
Yesss and by "the whole thing" i would say Eye of Eden now!! It looks so much like Kings silhouette and crown to me, and spirits turn to stone too but Kings so different.. Im just inspired to think this because How can tgc say King is real in Sky but we gotta figure it out ourselves, then King isn't rly visible anywhere, but Eden is like The ultimate bad in Sky world so maybe he is its essence somehow
yeah haha. the corrupted king's shape IS like the shape of eden O.O
Still there is good in Eden like the light kid (who ive thought is like... Ourselves.. uhhh brain hurts😂) soooo maybe yes the Prince is that littttle bit of good there..
yeah. there's also the possibility that the huge king is inside or 'trapped' in eden (as depicted in the drawings), with his eye peaking out lolol
Are WE the Prince too
lol ok maybe not.. unless.. im now thinking ab rebirth again and again, would the first of that cycle be Prince who then is in an infinite loop of becoming skykid and saving bits of kingdom (from himself as Corrupt King) and then facing Eden as skykids and saving parts of him (the skykids turned to stone in Eden) again and again....
well that scenario is unlikely with megabird info maybe and im just speculating again lol
Yep! that's my headcanon too, that we are him lol. It's a symbol of cycle of fragmentation and integration.
Isn't it that the king (or prince?) was chosen because he's the one who completed all the trials. And who completed all the trials? no other than us.
we're on to something!! How is this game so deeply meaningful
You're the Prince, and you're the Prince, and you're the Prince, you're all the Prince (or parts of it)
Honestly I started using "Isle floor" for the ground, the "prairie floor" etc, to describe vault, as 1st floor has different meanings
AAAAHHH i need to save my kingdom from my adult self who destroyed everything and free my inner child Prince from corrupt King's prison to megabirds rebirth cycle ?!?
but its not very peaceful is it😭 like i said before that vault elder is so sad in their memory, maybe from regret, so if skykids are Prince do they act from their regret too, ab what King did.....
Not to mention Forest elder's constant interruptions from skykids traipsing through their forge, and despite how much light "given" is eternally fixing that diamond
Good evening, I would like to report a bug, I know this is not the correct area to report, but it would help me if you could share it:
"messenger boat mission, located in avian village"
It happens when the spirit gives me a little boat and I want to place it in the water, it doesn't allow me and I can't leave the place either. And I have to leave and re-enter but even then the problem cannot be solved, since I cannot fulfill one of the spirit's missions.

I was JUST at the forest temple in sky and decided not skip cutscene so yeah just saw how she snatched the light aaagain
are the skykids canonically silly
I don't see why not /hj
@wild sundial
Probably! They learn silly emotes

They're kids, they'll probably be silly
info drop lol
This is my first time coming here but I noticed the big hole in the door to graveyard from the first section of wl. Then there's the giant dead creature and Krills in graveyard. And the same "holes" are in vault. Maybe the creatures that made the hole in the door before graveyard was the kings and maybe the same creature as from Abyss season that swallows you. It broke through the walls and made that wind tunnel hole through to the last section of wl before the elder temple. Then wasteland elder and his army fought the king in the battlefield when their defense barrier was knocked down. Just an idea and I've never actually looked too far into the lore...if this has already been discussed or anything I haven't heard it but I'd like to know
there was a concept story board, that when the king started becoming greedy and sucking too much light from creatures, the creatures attacked. But they were defeated so they retreated. And due to this incident, the king ordered to build fortress and weapons (GW) in case the creatures decided to attack again. A powerful ark made of dark stone is built and was used to seek shelter. But creatures were able to destroy the ark which explodes in epic battle - hence the state of GW. filled with bones of creatures as well as weapons and shields of people. However, I'm not sure how much of this is canon in the actual game because this seems to be the initial concept. And not everything in initial drafts is included in the final product of course. Because the final game, the shield of GW elder is sun design, which means he is pro megabird, pro light creatures and is against dark stone. But this initial concept tells that GW was built as a fortress AGAINST creatures.
source for the initial storyboard I'm talking about:
https://reddit.com/r/SkyGame/s/xMg0ZKJM7z
https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyGame/comments/170u465/first_part_of_sky_lore/
In the storyboard, it just says "Dark stone tech absorbs too much fire and the creatures attack". It doesn't say if it's 'light creatures' or 'dark creatures'. So, perhaps, after a light creature gets its light sucked out, it becomes 'endarkened', hence starts to attack?

Prolly why dark creatures (krills and crabs) attack us, they want their light back T_T
👀never thought of that before
they were possibly the victims, due to the king's greed
and the king/prince is us T_T and it becomes an endless cycle of rectification and cleaning up
So, are we just another sky kid to deliver light or are we a reincarnated king cause I've seen that mentioned too
nothing is confirmed, tgc leaves that up to us to interpret or come up with our own theories
i honestly thought that the shiny boy in post-eden was just the other half of your soul after it got ripped apart in eden
Confirmed, the game opening will rarely have a warning about watching out for Dark Dragons because they want to “eat” our light
Which I always found weird because they never went after the wings after knocking them out
unrelated but is there a possible lore reason why generally, with masks on, skykids have their eyes open, but maskless their eyes are closed?
the crabs stomp on them
They do!?
the shard ones definitely do, watched them smoosh mine
like spiderman mask? just beady eyes then with mask highlighted?
sorry being silly
I think they mean the maskless mask, where it just takes off the face and there’s no eyes
lol really? crabs be like: if you sucked my light and I don't have it now, well, you can't have yours too stomp stomp
oh i see, yes the spirit eyes open but i see maskless has eyelash so closed eyes, wonder why
inside the 4 person door in the vault, there's huge table and 6 chairs that looks to be the 'meeting table' of the elders. 1 chair is toppled.
I was thinking, could this toppled chair possibly belong to GW elder? Because according to the initial drafts, the king demanded GW to be built as a fortress in order to keep using dark stone and continue sucking lighting from creatures. However in the GW elder cutscene. We see that he weilds sun design shield. Could it be that he was the one who sided with the light and went against what's happening?
Because the other elders seem to be complicit. I mean, dawn elder provided transpo. Prairie elder has the jar to store butterflies. Forest elder even has diamond shaped headpiece and builds stuff (possibly dark stone related). The twins are just having fun with all their competitions and entertainment and frolicking basically as a result of dark stone technology. The vault elder, well... I don't know about her lol. And it's like GW elder was the one that says no, this has to stop, hence wielded the sun design shield.
However I'm torn because the toppled chair can also belong to dawn elder. In the storyboard, it says: "Ancients become indifferent and disconnected from the megabird. The ferryman ancestor (which looks to be dawn elder) retires with no new souls to shepherd". So perhaps the toppled chair symbolizes his retirement and just logged out from it all lol. What do you guys think? Who does the toppled chair belong to?
Hi
🤔
Helllo lore discussion spoilers.. we meet again
I'd like to mention that considering the anxious angler at some point ended up with a krill surprise, it seems that krill do naturally exists to me
To me, the biggest wrench in that theory is that there's a lot of sky kids who are exactly like us
Even if you choose to ditch the other players from the discussion(despite the fact that by doing that you'd be ignoring like half the game), there's sky kids in eden too who are like us
Also iirc there's a spirit memory where a sky kid fell from the sky, even back then
So this reincarnation theory has lots of gaps in it
We know from that spirit memory that all skids aren't born from the king
We seemingly aren't special compared to other sky kids
So that makes me feel like this theory just complicates things a lot and creates more holes than it patches
Also i have to say, i'm confused where that theory even came from
Like
I can't think of anything in the game hinting at that, so what did i miss that makes this theory so widespread?
How did you get lore aficionado
Probably Cave of Prophecies mural, which is what it is as well imho: a prophecy (of the time before we Skykids descended from skies to help the fallen ones).
He is a lore aficionado one day I want
to be like him
So is there something about the mural implying a tie between king and skids?
I believe megabird is narrating the story when we see the text
Probably the fact that we Skykids are able to gather all elements from the Trials without being taken out.
But if you ask me, we Skykids aren´t being reincarnations of the King: we´re literal fallen stars sent to help the fallen return home to the skies (orbit) ...
Couldn't say the same thing about me I need friends in order to complete it
... and the King is literally eradicated and gone-gone except for some fragments of his.
Same. 😆 Probably why we see multiple people taken out in murals.
Well I predict megabird made sky kids
We don't
We know nothing of megabird to be honest
Hell, its existence barely is even mentioned outside concept art
How do you check your role
We shall see more about that in Twin Embers, fingers crossed; on the other hand, I do believe that Winged Light are fragments of the King´s spirit after the Shattering Boom eradicated him.
Aster, do you know what the dev means by this?
Lore hints from Ash:
“A fun crab lore fact: there's a specific reason for the way that Sky's crabs walk the way they do. their walkcycle mimics something...
Its the walk cycle, but what that mimics is also relating to what the crabs are, technically. How crabs are born/made/created/come to be. What are crabs 🦀”
It is the Shattering, I only said "Boom" to pinpoint it exactly at the moment the Diamond went into an actual explosion.
Nope
I have not found any ideas to explain this
By checking your profile it should show all your roles
Since in the Shard Memory, we see a glimpse that seems to be the Diamond mere moments before going BOOM.
I have none lol nvm
Uhh I'm not a YouTuber
That is what the intro cave of isle tells us right?
Do we know why the abyss monster attacked
Possibly, it does say "I send you down", not "We" send you down
My guess, it refers to crabs being arthropods
And insects are also arthropods.. so maybe based on insects? But I dont know what insects walk like this
Maybe implying they're evolved insects
Fun fact, there is a term for things evolving to crabs called Carcinisation, it's even a meme
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/carcinization
So then Crabs could technically be close relatives to Butterflies?
I couldn’t think of anything because I didn’t remember any insects in Sky until you said that! That’s brilliant!
It does?
Do you have an image of the dialogue ? I don't remember that
I dont but Ill find one, hold on
I remember it at the very beginning of the game, either when you start or the Isle murals or something..
Something I just made up had me thinking maybe there’s some truth in there? But basically what if crabs used to be skykids? We see in Eden that the skykids turn to stone/statues when we run out of light and if it’s been there long enough it will turn to dust. What if that dust eventually harden back and went through the carcinization process thus becoming the crabs. It would explain why they are so attracted to everything made of light, aka skykids and any objects we place down near them like candles and memories. They forgot everything about their past lives as skykids but their basic instinct of being attracted to light is still there although their bodies aren’t adapted to it anymore so that’s why it destroys instead of gather.
Until they get infected by darkness, that is.
The king. They all symbolize the king of the Sky kingdom. (Except for the bird/manta and shield ones) This is concept art, so not necessarily canon. We see the king and bird/manta ones in-game, though.
It was hungry, I assume. We see that it has eaten a lot of light fish as well.
Wait a min
This shield from the war has the technology symbol
Here is a photo of the crystals that are used for technology
So what If krills glowing thingamabob is a crystal
See, I have seen a few theories about the Krill/Dark Dragons potentially being ancestor-made technology(due mostly to the fact that they make a mechanical sound when they move and tend to patrol certain areas—as if trained/designed to do so, maybe?) and were made to guard certain spots—like the Wasteland Temple/Factory and maybe Eden? But they ended up going rogue, somehow. I think that may have been debunked with Season of Abyss though
It is still pretty odd to me that they make machine sounds when the move, though.
Not only that but. The particles that fall off of them when they move? Sure, probably Darkness but. Maybe the material they're made of is slowly decaying after how many hundreds of years it's been?
Who are these two and why they hug? Shattering memory. On top of the Eden explosion diamond thing in the middle of all the elders getting blown away from it.
Also has a giant star shaped stone above that. Looks like it's falling or being thrown from the sky...
maybe it will be answered in two embers
Considering there's no apples on sky does that means physic doesn't exist here?

https://www.instagram.com/reel/C53jBXNS0ov/?igsh=YmUwbW8xajFlaHQw this is megabird to me. Made up of the light of thousands of skykids and spirits
wow that looks to be the same shape as the king's head in the concept art
could the king be the narrator?
whos the king?
a character who was created early on and there is no named character by that name
Just saw a video on each realm being a stage of life, and it makes so much sense
-Isle of Dawn: Plain, but full of potential. Infancy
-Daylight Praire: Bright and colorful, lots to explore. Childhood
-Forest: Moody and a bit angsty. Teenage
-Valley: Triumphant and strong. Adulthood
-Golden Wasteland: Depressing and anxiety inducing. Mid-life crisis
-Vault: Wise and knowledgeable of life. Elderly
-Eden: Death
Guys. This is not a drill. I don't know what to call it
I was just in Eden. And there was this guy. This is not a Skikid. He looks like a spirit. And he is higher than the maximum height.
I noticed him after I summoned the Elder of the Wasteland
its a bug
It looks like a player doing a butterfly emote
seriously?
others have gotten different spirtits and types there
yeah it is cruel
i got the same spirit ghost thing but with the butterfly charmer cape
Presumed lost Elder of Eden.
I absolutely think this is a call-forward to how we hug the Child of Light in the Void after dying in Storm Lock, which implies that the Diamond is sentient ... aka there might be sentient soul fragments it´s containing.
ohh that explains a lot and maybe the souls of the lost statues r inside the Diamond
Cutscene implies that the Lost Ones´ souls are inside their rocky prisons and giving them wl frees them. Imho, the soul fragments inside the Diamond belong to the King/Eden Elder himself.
Which would answer this as well; why is the symbol of Eden above the Diamond as it went into the Shattering.
maybe the elders souls too
Once it exploded, it eradicated the King and absorbed most of his soul.
Elders, not so much, as they can still influence the areas around their Temple statues; I reckon they were literally blown away by the explosion and thus were too far for their souls to be absorbed.
As I do recall that one of the Shard Memory songs posted by TGC mentioned "a spirit sundered in a break", which I think is the King/Eden Elder.
Whale Memory
The distant call beyond reach
Echoes swallowed in a scouring silence
Empty light scattering the fragments
Of a spirit sundered in the break
here it is
Yeah, this one. And as for "fragments", I think that´s none other than winged light.
Eden Elder pretty much got W.D. Gaster´d (from Undertale) by the Diamond of Eden when it went kaboom.
scattering also explains how the wl is scattered thru the realms and the wl resembles Resh (prince) in the ushering stargazer's memory, which explains y we look like the prince when we burn out from dark substance
Indeed as well as why we have 1 wl each in all Shard Memories (2 people in Elders one, but that was mentioned).
And given how there even are Shard Memories in the first place this implies that there is indeed something sentient to have left them in those red shards (since we do use little memory crystals to leave shared memories as well, but they´re always temporary) ... and something powerful enough to actually make them be permanent as well like snapshots encased in stone-like substance in the Void. O.o
why does it disappear? wait what, i typed '?' and it disappeared
i made an alignment chart for the war
Nature: Wasteland, Hidden Forest Natives (militia who fought for their side using guerilla warfare) Prairie (pacfists who supplied wasteland) Neutral: Vault (Pacifists who only took in refugees) Isle (completely out of the war) Industry: Forest elder (supplied eden) Valley (created the cyclone in the wasteland) and Eden credits to @native galleon for inspiration
Now that you mention it, you see all its memories
How does a power diamond have memories
Exactly, thus my headcanon is that it´s sentient and what gives it sentience must be the spirit core you get after clearing a red shard ... which, imho, is the biggest fragment of Eden Elder´s soul.
Why the valley of triumph is the most hmmm...kept? In order? Idk the word for it but all the others realms are "broken"
Vault is kept in order too
True
I don’t know why for sure, but maybe it had something to do with the age theory a YouTuber had? The one I replied to
Yeah, I thought that too after seeing It but maybe there's was another explanation like how do the valley twins maintenance/take care of it or if they don't get involved with the other elders after all
valley is height of 'civilization', the golden age where prince is crowned king
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/sky-children-of-the-light/images/9/9b/Elder-Spirits-Valley.png/revision/latest?cb=20240218085806 Something I noticed only just now, the Valley elders have one eye each, further proof they’re one guy split
yeah, they also both have prosthetic arm
Hello, a question for y'all. Does anyone know when Sky's animated series "The Two Ember" will be officially released?
They said March but idk, at one of the recent livestreams they said they’d have more news soon
march has past, there seems to be no announcement yet. I've read a comment that said they’ve changed the script a couple times already. Prolly why sky lore is kinda all over the place. Because the makers themselves keep changing their minds XDD
They're making a series????? What platform??
why the dragon didnt eat the little prince? that was something else haha
Yeah true
They probably had no animal to stand in for the snake
(He didn’t eat him but he did bite him with poison so he could go back home to the stars)
Which.. I guess in that case would be getting krilled and I don’t think they wanted to depict the Little Prince being yeeted by a krill to Eden
Me don't know, prolly just YouTube? Or somewhere else?
makes sense, now i figured that i need to go to eden, so the end of this quest will take a while... the lil one will have to sit around haha
Little Prince: This dragon told me it can take me to Eden which will lead me back to the stars. See you later!
YEET!
I mean, objectively speaking it´s true haha.
Now that I think about it, maybe it ignored him because he's not a light creature and has no light?
the little prince is an extraterrestial "pure being" also a child. Our character are the same. Little prince cannot fly by his own, maybe krills issue is the ability to fly and not the light -im rambling joking-
Yeah, but I love how perfectly and neatly Little Prince fits into the sky mythos
The home in the stars, the childish innocence and imagination, the lessons learned for adults, the friendship with nonhuman things like flowers and animals
guys whos this man and why do they worship him?
The king/prince, they bow to him
(Not to be confused with the Little Prince)
The scrapped Elder of Eden who still has many hints across the game
The lore from what we can deduce, he went through the trials in the Season of Prophecy, discovered the power diamonds that can be used in so much technology and people hailed him as a king for it
But he turned corrupted and greedy as the power diamonds continued to make the land worse, taking light from the creatures and polluting the lands
And then the Eden diamond exploded, something happened to kill him, maybe absorb him into it
oh so hes the elder of eden? why didnt he show up just like other elders?
Probably scrapped from lore or completely destroyed
i heard some people saying that he went from good to evil, is this true?
From our theories yes, and the concept art
There is even speculation, you know when you die at Eden and there's this little boy of light to hug? That's speculated to be the prince, the last remnants of his good innocence before he grew corrupted
The old concept arts say something like, when you die at Eden you get sucked into the king's body and the prince lets you leave
in a lot of the old concept art there are corrupted versions of them, yeah. thats one of the more direct mentions there
Where do I can find the concept art and the official part of the lore?
Nnaught posted them here (sorry about the last image it's blurry)
well, he is not an elder. based on the storyboard concept, Megabird grants flame to Prince and creatures. That's why during elder cut scene, elders don't have flame on their own and we have to give them
^Also he posted more here, notice how the king has a small image of the prince on his head
I think there was the theory that the king was split into Wing Lights which exploded across the land because of the den diamond
does anyone have the concept art of the early eden with the king at the top on hand? that could probably illustrate some of the direction for it pretty well
wow never knew that the light boy is king soul
There's also this ingame art during the Vault Elder's cutscene which shows up after all the other elders
He seems to be wielding/eating light, all the people bow to him
(And his symbol is above him)
so from what ya all say, is he the creator of darkness?
Yes, though this was not the intent from the beginning
Remember how I talked about the technology diamonds, where you have to use your candle on them to get mechanisms to work? (You see them mostly on doors)
They wanted to power these diamonds by taking light from light creatures... which turned them dark and corrupted
They kept taking and taking from the environment and ruined it
To drive their technological society further
yes ik about these doors, so the KRILL was the light creature that you ride on daylight where you have to light up the 3 mechanic things to reach the castle?
Possibly! Either it's a manta or it's that thing in Two Embers
This creature which shines a light from one eye like a krill, though it's a light creature
Possible had light stolen from it
Also see here, this season of abyss concept art (so it's very new) that reveals how dark creatures are created, my interpretation of the scene comes below it
basically Eden - King is any regular Sauron
yes, from my interpretation, all dark creatures are originally light. In the concept storyboard, it says: "The creatures caught in the center of the storm became corrupt and unrecognizable. They now wonder the land as lost, malignant beings."
I wonder, in this case what if the Eden Diamond exploded not because it was being overloaded with light, because light creatures tried attacking it and damaged it, resulting in cracks that began to leak? Is that why we see memories of animals in it? Like whales and jellyfish
wow it also has memories of animals?
Yes from the season of Shattering, you get to see the diamond's memories
It's mostly animals, and krill, and then the elders all swarming around it being blown back by an explosion
Likely! Because in the original concept, the king tried to build powerful ark made of dark stone, which was attacked and destroyed by the creatures. However, the dark stone ark idea seemed to be scrapped, and was replaced with this powerful red diamond
Speaking of harvesting light, I remember in one of the memories of the Daylight Prairie spirits, they're harvesting balls of light from flying birds overhead in a haphazard way, it reminds me of the scene in the Lorax movie
Where they are harvesting the fluff from the trees without chopping them down, but it's really slow and they can only pick out some fluff
And then they suggest "We can always start chopping down the trees!"
I guess the equivalent in Sky is when they started catching mantas in nets
I think, you can say, the 'blame' is not all on him. According to concept storyboard, dark stone matter already exists and was discovered. they mine the forest for dark stones that absorbs fire/light, in order to create and power new technologies. "The prince gave the elders special dark stones that makes them godly." If this concept is relevant and made it to the final game, that would mean the elder masks/head pieces and the chest diamonds of the twins were possibly given by the prince.
"Dark matter begins to corrupt the prince and elders". --> I do think this is also relevant in the game because the elders (except GW elder who was the brave one to fight against king) appear complicit. Especially forest elder, who seems to be a builder and lover of technology. She also just snatched the light/flame from us in the cut scene. Could be a sign that she, too, has tendency to be greedy.
I don't think creator is the right word
His actions contributed to it spreading, but i don't think it's a brand new thing that didn't exist before
since i wont be going to eden for the lil prince i decided to go with Aurora´s quest. omg ... so far i only heard a couple of songs from her, but never the ones for quest 2,3,4 ... eh, i got striped by a krill during #4 is that normal like "to add spice?" lol hahha I made it!
Really? That’s unlucky, I don’t remember being krilled
Well it added more spice, just 2 wings, could been more but i realized i needed to dodge cause bubble doesnt isolate from rest of the game, and the hidden krills got activated, and the song played on that moment made it wild... now i figured i cannot progress, so i browsed a bit on the discord, i guess it works like grandma-geyser, right? still im loving how they could place the singer-music-cinematic, making it fit so nicely
yes, if youre doing the GW aurora quest, and coincidentally another player is there in battefield area and they opened the gates, which activates the krills, yes, you'll have krills XDD grandma-geyser is by time schedule. aurora quest you can do anytime.
I would say that the king didn't create darkness, just made the contrast more pronounced, by trying to attain The Light, they made everything else seem dark. In extracting light from creatures, caused less distributed light, and more concentrated. Through deforestation and dumping of waste, increased the distribution of darkness.
So light and dark didn't become less or more, just that the light became more concentrated in Eden than anywhere else, and so causing everywhere else to seem dark in the process.
Found this pretty funny
I wonder if Golden Wasteland once had tons of water
Is that why treasure reef is there?
(I would’ve suggested the ark, but the ark has a mural showing it was flying through the sky until lightning struck the boat down)
And what we found out earlier about them draining light from manta eggs and putting them into diamonds from the original abyss concept art
And looking at the current official mural from the abyss
It’s probably showing the larger and more powerful the mantas, the more diamonds they can power up
(This image)
Hello, can someone explain me All the skylore we have for now? like the story itself
it's all a bit muddled, really. there's things we know for certain as they happen in game, or ideas of things with many interpretations, but there isn't a solid confirmed timeline or anything. Best I can recommend is just searching through these chats, reading as stuff come by or using search history to seek out specific ideas. I'm sure most people you'll ask would be willing to give you a more proper rundown on certain things if you just ask though haha
Has anybody discussed the fact that Skykids can speak and make noises, as gathered from the PC trailer? I’d love to hear LChat’s thoughts on that lol
It's possible that skykids can now say the word "Bazinga"
I heard that Forest is golden wasteland but the ruined version
So yk when we get hit by a krill or by a rock we get like crystals on our body?
Well what if the more we stay like dead the crystals start growing bigger
until it fully encases the skykids body and preserves the light
wouldn't a story that's left very open ended be unsatisfying to read
not necessarily
I don't think so. I still think Sky being open-ended opens doors for others to be creative. Some people prefer to complete an open-ended story in their own way
There is still a story in the game before the ending of the story and it's up to the others on how to interpret the different parts of the story. I suppose seasons expand more of Sky lore.
Overall, it depends on one's opinion and for me, I like the fact that Sky lore is open-ended ✨
I think what the result is what you see in Eden, the statue kids
You can still progress even after the Krill are activated; the door will open once close enough. ;D
Eradicated, not just killed, imho ... and most of his soul being absorbed into the Diamond alright.
Vault is an illusion/dream. At the end of Vault, it is shown that the elevator is BADLY damaged and you’re at the 1st floor.
Chesca#6820, 6/11/2020
Saw this, is it true? That’s crazy!
Also this one about Eden, likely explains why it’s called Eden (because the original sin was committed in the garden of Eden
In Japanese, it is called “Original Sin”
CANON LORE
The vault dream theory is one of the most common theories to explain how strange the vault is and the transition into the ruined room before eden
Though i think it should be mentioned that, whatever is happening in vault, it does have some amount of reality to it
It still holds spirits to be freed, children of light to get, and the elder
I tried thinking about the original sin one
In the biblical one, they disobey god and eat fruit from a tree they weren’t allowed to eat from
It gave them sight to see their shame (and maybe mortality)
In the vault mural showing Eden, the Eden King seems to be eating something, light maybe? Did he commit the ultimate sin of eating light, which only dark creatures ever do?
^referring to this
I feel like if light was transferred to the king, it was likely to feed the giant crystal rather than the king himself
Which could also fit your interpretation given how that crystal turned out to destroy everything and everyone
And we do have precedent of darkstone being powered by taking light from elsewhere
The murals in treasure reef seem like they're using light creatures for the darkstone, and there's the mantas trapped in the forest temple (which seemed to also be a place where darkstone was produced)
It is also possible that this is what led to the war in Golden Wasteland
The shields of the soliders show darkstone and sun symbols respectively iirc
So the most common interpretation of this is that one side wanted to treat the world and its creatures better
While the other wished to keep industrialing
Which also that war happened very late in ancestor history, the aurora concert shows us bits of the past
And what it shows is the shattering happening during the war, with meteors raining down on the battlefield and then everything being destroyed
Yeah, and people were throwing weapons at escaping mantas despite them likely not being part of the war
Were they?
I missed that part when i saw the war memories
During the concert yes
While spirits were killing each other, mantas got caught in the crossfire
Oof
Poor mantas
Absolutely not, imho, since Ancient Light and Darkness both coexist(ed) when Season of Shattering was ongoing.
Another thing that supports this that I recently found out, the season of prophecy murals already have krill’s when he’s just a prince
I don't know where i read this but i think it is the most likely explanation.
The Kings story is all about greed. He discoverd the Darkstone mineral and saw it had the ability to trap light and use it as a powersource. He wanted all the light for himself. He started collecting the natural roaming light ( like those from enchantment and lightseekers and from the daily light quests ).
But when that light started to fade away he started pulling light from creatures and the environment ( from the butterflies in praire, the Cloud trees in forest, the mantas in valley etc). Some of the creatures almost went extinct, like the sky giants ( we do in fact see i think 3 of them in the game in total) and others went completely extinct leaving the wasteland boneyard.
But the King had a plan to create a giant darkstone to collect the stars giving them almost unlimited power. This is what i assume to be the catalyst for the war that destroyed the golden wasteland and led to the creation of the Dark Dragons in the Reef laboratories.( i feel they were created by the darkstone side to win the war, but their hubris led to the krills killing them all too. This is the only part where i might be wrong but this is my personal interpretation).
But when the darkstone was activated it not only made all the Stars fall to the earth but trapped the people and made them unable to return to the stars. This also is what killed the elders and trapped the King in the Darkstone.
Only when the Skykid dies in the Eye, do they free the soul of the King and return order to the stars.
Ive heard the take that the mural could be a prophecy foretelling the arrival of the krill
why Golden Wasteland elder looks very tired?
He is a warrior and there are traces of a great great war all across Golden Wasteland. Is a given, especially because when we first see him he is without light.
Pity that if you ask me, no one can help the King, as his very soul was fragmented beyond any hope of recombining. And honestly, given the murals (especially the Eden mural), I´d say that he intended only good for his Kingdom with the giant Diamond, but you know the saying "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions".
As for Krills, given the concept art, they more seem to be the result of harvesting too much light from specific light creatures, most likely Mantas.
The reason i think krills were intentionally created instead of accidentally created is mostly cause of these reasons: The massive cage in the forgottan reef for the krills. I doubt they would have made that cage if they didn't know that a krill was going to be created.
I also like the theory that the krills have always existed but they were at the bottom of the abyss. When the people of sky discovered them they trapped them and tested to see what they could do.
Also i dont think creatures light can be slowly and steadily drained. There isn't really anything in game to suggest it, but i always assumed that the process of extracting a creatures light kills them.
If light could be drained from them slowly i dont think there would have been a issue with the creatures becoming more and more scarce.
This is still my opinion tho and is in no way definitive. Its just my way of interpreting the stuff i see in game.
No worries, as my own interpretation is just as vague. That massive cage seen in the Reef actually looks like something that could easily house a giant manta we see a cosmic version of in Vault of Knowledge as well, which wouldn´t surprise me, given how we have quite a big Darkstone on the tower above the surface as well; it could easily siphon light even from a giant manta, nevertheless several small ones we see trapped in bubbly-cages as well.
This can also be a process as well, like at first they were disabling and completely draining light from creatures, which would kill them, but once it was discovered that it´s more "sustainable" if the creature´s light is steadily and slowly drained it would provide more bang for the value ... yeah, in that case as creature´s light was more and more drained, they had to go after darkness to keep living and thus getting themselves corrupted by it.
Concept art of Treasure Reef murals does hint a bit that the light was slowly drained from them into darkstone via similar methods we can relate to in our world as well (milking cows, anyone?), but well, no one says that the methods had to be one or the other; it can be both ways as well. :)
Yeah its cool but i think its too vauge of a concept to apply😭😅 I just think it would fit better if taking light was a one and done deal and thats why it was so bad. Its weird i hope it gets revealed what the hell the people at the reef were up to.
I don’t know if this is the case, but I noticed burning plants in golden wasteland always seems to release butterflies? Has this been the case the entire time for all dark plants?
Yes, Starry.
Hehe; we always have bad and worse ... and literally slowly exhausting creatures of their light is worse while taking it all at once is bad. Fingers crossed that Twin Embers reveal more about that thing indeed ... as well as Art of Sky book.
omg
It's lore time@light minnow
So any of you guys know what happened with the shattering and why only skykids are left
Skykids are probably more resilient than the spirits
what if the king reincarnated into all the skykids
i personally don't believe the theory, but there's a lot of proof to it. The King was physically completely destroyed, however, we take up their mantle and rule the sky world in a more friendly way
That's probably the husk of the king in the final moments
it's the second one, the mural was added recently (2022) so they still were important in the sky timeline
Mm... Imma eat some lore-
(I like learning the lore of games-)
Really love lores dang
YES
is alef bad?
Alef? Wdym never heard
Oh, i watched something in yt, it was a quick lore time but i think I'm still missing other details like each spirit we try to relieve in realms, the only thing that marked my head is that sky kids are a piece of alef who tries to save the world he tried to destroy
Uhh I don't know what that is
what are your findings in-game?
The krills might be mechanical due to the noises they make and the fact that their glowing thing looks like a diamond used in mechanical parts of things in sky
I'm clueless about them(totally most) my thoughts are like they were once innocent creatures then got corrupted (?)
No one knows
when krills attack, they have a call cave just like skids and light creatures do. and I know a lot of people theorise that krills are mantas/light creatures that were drained of their light in treasure reef, so is the call cave because they were once light creatures? (sorry if this was worded strange I'm half asleep)
what do you mean by 'call cave'? as in, the pulse of white representative of when a call happens? :o If so, I think so, yes!
this

Yes, I thought that was what you mean haha. I think the fact that they emit one is probably evidence to that theory, yeah :)
has the origin of spirits (before dying(?) been discussed? The mural from the Aviary points out an interesting detail ; it states that the spirits 'descended to build a kingdom in the clouds' (which is supposedly like the layer below stars, right?). But that means that they originate from above the clouds - the stars, or, the light, much like skykids. Skykids come down with their own light like a fragment of the overall megabird (following the definition that The Light/megabird includes literally all Light).
We know that the spirits relied upon other sources to power their crystals because they had no light of their own. But they too, like skykids, descended, so what happened? I propose that spirits did originally hold light like skykids but over time lost it through generations as it very slowly faded out.
Can we revive that one bird outside of the citadel too?
Some general ideas and reasons I'm not sure how to format
- Disconnection from overall light - ie, 'returning to the stars' (isle mural), going through rebirth and rejoining megabird. stopping the process of the cycle means their connection just slowly fizzled out, unlike skykids which go through frequent eden runs. this could also relate Light back to the idea of it being like, warmth and stuff like heat energy - it just slowly dissipates and loses activity over time.
- sediment theory. i have no idea what im saying at this point but im gonna put it out there. I propose that all matter in sky sort of has this ability to be active and light-interacting, but cools off eventually if it doesnt reconnect with megabird and rejoin the stars. If left alone for long enough, it layers and forms colder and colder (as in, less light) matter that compresses like sediment into layers and creates dark crystal. because dark crystal would then essentially be super compressed matter (matter which innately has the abiltiy to store light / be active with it), it serves as an especially powerful catalyst.
I'm thinking of like, in-between of states of different amounts of light-activity in matter:
- Raw light (highest energy, pure form) like the daily quest lights and stars themselves.
- Light creatures/high light substances. (near-highest energy, not entirely pure light but near) Light creatures are fast, bright, and move near constantly. there's a TON of them in eden, constantly moving through and in and out - they can be seen in almost every stage of sky (notice how there's creatures in isle?) they've 'cooled down' enough to have stable forms and resemble things unlike a light ball, but still recharge skykids because they're so light-active
- Skykids/Early living spirits. this next stage I imagine to be a lot cooler than light creatures. as they hold less and less internal light-activity, they're capable of being extinguished and staying that way without a source, and have a pretty solid form.
- Later living spirits towards the end of their timeline, who lose the ability to utilise and summon their internal light source. I'd imagine that this is actually what the spirits are like for most of the time they're living, prompting them to cause their little industrial revolution yada yada
- Dormant matter, (lowest energy). empty crystals. idk
- I guess this sort of leads to the red shards resembling like, an anti-light matter? Instead of holding active light or being entirely inactive, they're like .... un-active. they take away instead of give or do nothing. maybe this inverse is a result of the shattering.
I don't think there's any proof to it
And honestly
Very little evidence in general
We don't really take up their mantle or rule anything, we're just trying to fix whatever we can and help the spirits
But we're not really ruling anything
There's also the issue that iirc there's a spirit memory featuring a sky kid falling from the sky
Which would imply that sky kids have existed before the king was destroyed
What if that was the prince? Who then went through trials and got his mask
This was in isle of Dawn too
That reminds me, you know how the Eden constellation is represented with a crown in the vault?
And when we see that same constellation at home, it’s our friends (if you turn up the brightness you can see the cloud of the constellation has the same spiked star at the middle of the top of the crown
Maybe he was a sky kid who grew up? Or otherwise started piloting a large mech called the king (not clear why we can see the Prince in the kings head)
The canon lore is that sky kids will not grow up into the same species as elders, maybe the king was the same kind as Sky Kids
Could be
But that would still establish sky kids as a pre existing species right
Because then, there'd be the prince himself and however many other sky kids may have failed the trials
Which, speaking of
Trials in of themselves are pretty interesting too
You just sit in a room and meditate and now you're in a magic trial room
Personally i like to imagine the trials are happening within your own mind, so beating the trials would prove that you've overcome the mental barriers they represent
Hello
The red shards do seem to hold active light. In fact, they seem to hold not just light but "souls" of light creatures (or even crabs, who are technically dark creatures). What happens when you clean up red shard eruptions is that after you burn the plants, you have to collect pieces of light, which then coalesce into a creature "spirit." As opposed to black shards that are just "pieces of light" ("wax"), i.e. energy that's not "alive."
Also worth noting that there are light creatures (butterflies) trapped in dark plants (you can see them leave when you release them). They are there even in the Wasteland, which presumably hasn't had an ecosystem to support butterflies in a very long time. The "crystal" the shards come from seems to be an artificial attempt to do what the dark plants are doing. Why they come out to be red is unclear. Aside from just the design aspect (color coding red as dangerous), each color in sky seems to have a meaning and an association with an aspect of magic (notably, each Trial has a color associated with an "element," but there are more colors than that). It's unclear what "element" red is, but we see orbs of red light at sites of shipwrecks. So it's possible it's an "element of pain/suffering." But both of those ships were also transporting "power cell urns" so it's possible that those red orbs are light coalesced from the shipwrecks
Point is, it's hard to explain what I'm trying to say without getting into explaining thermodynamics, but basically light creatures seem to be perpetual (or very long-term) sources of energy.
Like, in real life, an organism holds a finite amount of energy, and energy is constantly spent. If a wolf eats a rabbit or whatever, roughly speaking the wolf gets an amount of energy that will keep it alive for a while but not forever. Rabbits get their energy from plants, and plants get their energy from the sun, which technically also has a finite amount of energy to give, but the sun lasts "forever" on the timescale of our lives.
In Sky, each light creature seems to be more like a miniature sun in itself. It can generate light "forever" and a dark creature or plant can trap it and feed on that light "forever." The "krill" have been circling the Wasteland presumably since whatever catastrophe happened years, if not centuries ago. In real life they would have died out long ago from hunger and lack of food sources. In Sky it seems that as long as they have eaten anything, they don't technically need to eat more just to stay alive, but they may still want to eat more to grow bigger or whatever.
The "spirit civilization" seemed to be using light (and light creatures) in a similar fashion. They basically had perpetual power sources but for whatever reason they kept wanting or needing more and more power, so they had a whole industry of harvesting light and making power crystals out of it.
And in Sky, it's "darkness" that's the "anti-light matter" that takes light instead of giving. And the crystals probably had to trap light and darkness together for it to work (until they eventually shattered, presumably from trying to hold too much). How they were trapping darkness is beyond me but that's my impression of what seemed to be happening
Of course, there are also hints of "regular" animals existing, such as boars and bears – or at least concepts of such animals, enough to make masks featuring them during Season of Passage. It's hard to say what that implies about Sky's ecosystem, or how metabolism and thermodynamics work in that universe. It's possible Sky's writers don't really understand thermodynamics (not uncommon among writers), or don't think it through that deeply (also not uncommon). But in that case it's pointless to draw far-reaching conclusions about anything from anything. I think it might be best to just hope that the Netflix series actually releases at some point and explains some things.
DO I SMELL LORE
nah just my nerdy rambling sorry <_<
These are the birds outside of the Nest. These are only found in the Prairie Peaks, right? If so, cool Easter egg. Or maybe nature is healing
Question to ponder on. Tw for discussion of death.
Do skykids have an understanding of death? Like, do they know what it is? I ask because of that one falling over emote. From what I can tell, skykids learn to communicate by copying the actions of the spirits. So when they see someone fall over, they do it too.
But it wasn't just falling over, was it?
In the memory, the spirit seemed to be either badly injured or very sick. From what I can tell, the memory is of their death. Also, the little "x"s over the eyes in the emote button.
So, the spirit dies. And the skykid's first response is to copy them.
I don't think that skykids understand death, or even have a concept of it. It makes sense, considering their seemingly endless rebirth cycle.
My big question is: do the skykids understand what happened to the spirits? If not, what might they think?
My headcanon is that Sky kids understand death, possibly more than any spirit ever could.
Sky kids die every time they go to Eden. So, some kids die and get reborn every week. An ancestor only dies once (as far as we know).
I think Sky kids’ concept of death would be somewhat different than ours, because they can be reborn if they die, while an ancestor dies forever. So, a Sky kid might not think a death is too big of a deal, because they can come back.
Adding onto that, the concept of pure annihilation doesn’t exist for ancestors or Sky kids, because they all join the megabird hive-mind in the end. Spirits can come back down after ascending; they just won’t be reborn as ancestors (as far as we know). The closest we have to oblivion is either total corruption in the void or a Sky kid whose player never plays the game again. In the latter case, that could be interpreted as the Sky kid joining megabird and choosing not to be reborn.
This may be a deep question to ponder, but why does the reincarnation system exist within the lore of Sky? What would the Megabird's motive be in having such a system?
I think it makes sense within the game itself, since it is an MMO that is supposed to never really end, at least, as long as servers stay up, but within the Lore... it is I think a question to ponder, maybe.
(This is coming from someone who never played all the way through Eye of Eden, but already spoiled the point of it. Didn't really mean to, but I ventured into the comment section of Sky videos too much... and also watched something that spoiled it a bit. 💀 I hope to eventually actually go through it one day just to see the whole impact, since I didn't exactly see how it looks in-game, yet.)
there is an old concept art piece showing a cycle of empty souls falling from megabird, journeying through the realms and then, full of light, returning to megabird. It would almost seem like megabird is collecting that light for some purpose, to keep it alive maybe
Also, while sky kids don’t really evolve beyond getting more WL, that concept art also implies it’s how creatures become larger. By migrated and being reborn in Eden, butterflies can be birds, mantas can grow to larger sizes like the one in prairie, or even manatees I would assume, seeing as the one we see in two embers trailer seems to be a very large one. We can see in game streams of birds through all the realms migrating to Eden, such as the notable ones in forest. Even in orbit, we see birds and mantas flying into the Light
What I meant is that the King tried to take control of the world, while the Skykids take the responsibility of the world
The question is, if death is a weekly occurence and easily recoverable, is it really death? Or is it more like a refreshing of light
Make sure to go to Eden someday, you'll meet the epic me and find more lore in the season quests
any thoughts on the (unofficial?) names of the elders; alef, resh, samekh, lamed, etc? because the first thing i noticed about them is that they're literally just letters of the hebrew alphabet.
alef = א
resh = ר
samekh = ס
lamed = ל
to me, as someone who is ethnically jewish and has studied the hebrew language long enough to recognise the romanised names of the letters, it's like if a non-english speaker called them "ell", "ay" "arr", "ess", etc.
and besides, does anyone know where these name ideas came from?
edit: grammar
Yeah, I think the elder names are supposed to have meanings corresponding to the meanings of the Hebrew letters
yeah, that makes sense! thank you!
you may be interested in this doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qCXl82o4VoEmQDL2eBRlw7u7dRHEMMplplRaUvyGTWg/edit?usp=sharing
thank you so much!
That’s very interesting: thank you for sharing.
I see it as death, because the sky kids’ bodies are destroyed and stop working. Their light enters a sort of afterlife in orbit. One’s life has to end in order to enter the after-life. Then they are “reborn”. You can only be born once during a lifetime. So they do die, they just aren’t obliterated.
I’m not even going to try to rationalize the cinnamoroll collab. A hole was torn in reality and cinnamoroll forced its way into the dying remains. (I understand that this is ironically a rationalization)
/lighthearted
nesting guide got into sewing stuffed animals and really wants you to decorate your nest with pastry-themed decor /j
Ok, I wanna hear theories/lore you guys have about one of the props we have in the Season of Nesting. There is a picture frame with the Nesting guide with the Forest Elder standing next to each other in Hidden Forest. Do you think it's just a painting? Or is there something going on there?
i think its possible nesting guide learned from forest elder. forest region did lots of production but also supplied raw material (wood from trees, stone from mines) and it also location of assembly treehouse, so it seems very thematically appropriate for nesting guide to be connected to the area. I like to think that NG was perhaps even apprenticed to FE, seeing as one of their fun facts is that they may want an apprentice of their own
real question is does this make nesting guide our landlord /j
its the non canon event, the beach episode of sky if you will
or the non main arc
the krill are also really big fans of saniro. OR cinnamoroll is the prince/J

I also believe that the nesting guide was an apprentice of the Forest Elder. The flight guide was an apprentice of the Prairie Elder, so why wouldn’t other elders take on apprentices? It makes me wonder if any past guides were apprentices, too, or if more will be revealed in the future.
Watching the cinnamoroll collab trailer is like watching a nightmare tho /halfjoking
Like reality is actually falling apart
Is this our version of the KFC collab
Me clutching my head screaming incoherently after seeing Cinamoroll like I’ve just witnessed some sort of eldritch being
/joking
they seem interested in more one time collab mini events so maybe we'll get two weeks of KFC sometime
( thinkin about how fireworks festival was a one off event with tickets, too. )
does anybody know the sky lore and can explain who's alef?
Alef is just an unofficial/concept/noncanon name for the Eden Elder
Okay so
In the concept art, all the elders in the game have names
These are not used in-game, but are still widely used across the community
In particular: the king/eden elder (who is hinted at, but never met in the game) had two names in concept art
Alef for the prince
Resh of the king
It seems like the prince and king are two very different persons, despite being the same character (looking at their concept art at least)
wait the flight guide was an apprentice of the praire elder?! how do we know this?
I think that's headcanon
"i believe"
Can't he believe something
Because you know a lot about the lore can you please tell me what kingdom was in the war I know one was golden waistland but i don't know what the other was is it Forrest?
we don't know for sure
it's likely not even "wasteland vs forest" or the like, but rather two factions from the whole kingdom
popular theories are the 'government'/guards of the kingdom/eden vs the exploited workers affected by the pollution or fallout
more of a civil war inbetween the population, rather than a war between two realms
but again, those are all theories
all we know is that it was an ancestor vs ancestor war, at least one side seemed to have used mantas as allies and/or mounts, and the battlefield shows shields with a diamond and others with a sun shape
He was quoting me lol. I was saying it wasn’t a headcanon.
Oh lol
Oh
Well i was wrong, that's a fun info
Yeah, discord lore drops aren’t the most accessible unfortunately (ironic since I’m posting this on discord)
ok for the two embers project maybe one of the main characters are a reincarnation of the king and one will be the prince
the Revival Guide (Hopeful Steward from Aviary) looks like a character from one of the trailers for Two Embers. i suspect Hopeful might be one of the main protagonists of the series (the other being "the king")
I don't know if there is a canonical lore answer but my guess is, "skykids" might be a second attempt by "megabird" to populate the world. The "ancestors" were the first attempt and they all seem to have died out due to self-inflicted causes. Skykids are "life 2.0" and hopefully might do better, in part because reincarnation means fear of death is less of a factor in making bad decisions and death itself is less of a barrier to learning. Of course, there is also something to be said about the accumulated trauma from all the deaths and rebirths potentially taking its toll down the road and becoming an issue in itself, though I doubt it will really be explored in the game
It's also possible that skykids are more of a "work crew" of "angels" originally meant to clean up the mess before a second attempt is made. Skykids being skykids, it might end up taking forever, literally
Hi lore chat do you wanna know something funny about my sky oc lore
The official theme for it is literally Skyfall by Adele
"Where you go I go.... what you see I see......"
Just wanna randomly write here that given airplanes exist in the game, maybe there's a possibility that helicopters exist too in the game
I think the airplane is an Easter egg
But you’re right, it does exist in the game
That’s also my theory
Basically the natives of the forest were exploited as workers by eden and they met Tsadi who helped them fight back but during their revolt, they destroyed factories and freed mantas but in the process, the smoke from the factories’ ruins poisoned the atmosphere causing the acid rain in the forest
oh, thank you!
objects ver and not so relevant, but yes
does anyone have a reference for the mantas in the vault? Is there like.. concept art or a ref sheet?
I forgot I even mentioned that, it's been so long since then. This looks great!
manuls (pallas cat) should be a thing in sky, preferably in hidden forest
technically there is a space station in game. but i agree with WWLF, it's probably an easter egg rather than canonical lore material
(also that airplane is tiny)
idk but maaaaybe there's some sort of connection between the human world and the sky world (purely speculative)
Ok I’ve been wanting to talk in this chat for a while now and I have some questions about how some parts of the Kingdom of Sky are well preserved. For example, The Valley of Triumph. It’s pretty close to The Eye of Eden, so I would imagine that it would be pretty damaged since the explosion or corruption of the Eden crystal must have sent an onslaught of rocks everywhere. However despite a few broken structures it’s fine. Why is this so? I was thinking it could be symbolic for how the Valley of Triumph isn’t a realm that was used for industrial or military use like Forest and Wasteland, therefore it is preserved through the light it once held? (A bit of a stretch)
Or the Valley of Triumph could have been preserved in a way like the Vault of Knowledge. The Vault is most likely a dream. As stated in previous messages, the last room is direct evidence of that. Preservation magic through lanterns is the Vault’s specialty since there are SO many, so maybe they can shield places? If then why not everyone?
Or Valley of Triumph is just super lucky idk
this is for art reasons
I like to think that places of exceeding light are preserved around the kingdom, places where the ancestors built properly and thus you can thrive.
Forest shows us a lot of the technological developments, but we also see ancestors exploiting the environment, thus the rain is toxic. But the wind paths are in the forest, and you will recharge basically anywhere there because it works in harmony with nature.
but Valley has homes, it’s a cultural hub, and most importantly, it’s home to the Citadel—a place that exudes light almost like the wind paths—so it’s uncorrupted.
just my theory :)
Ohh that’s an interesting idea! Thanks for your input!
i headcanon the vault developing a space program now
Could tell anyone tell me which ones are who in order? Also is that our king? And was he the one that caused the corruption? Thanks in advance
Is there a good resource to get caught up on current lore
I’d recommend this blog https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories
well now i want a Kerbal Space Program collab season
And the Tom Zhao art https://www.tomzhao.com/sky-all which bear in mind is a lot of concept art
That looks like Home Island and/or Aviary. Strictly speaking, pretty sure that from the lore perspective, Home is supposed to be Aviary. Originally they were just going to replace the old login area with what is currently Aviary Village, but have kept Old Home due to player feedback
@brave patio sorry for the ping, but I'm putting together a doc for lore resources and was hoping for permission to include your blog as a resource
Of course!!!
@trail flint hey you
Hii
amazing thank you!
Is it lore aligned if i make a skykid raised in the Vault of Knowledge alongside a the ghost mantas?
as far as i understand, sky kids are not really "raised" in a normal sense. they just kinda... fall out of the sky and land in a world where the previous civilization has died out centuries ago
that said, they can interact with the spirits of the "ancestors" and once they make their way to the Vault they could stay and hang out to learn from them, being "raised" in a way
while also raising the ancestors from the dead along the way <_<
First things first OMG MELOG PFP—
That makes sense, but i just thought it would be neat if this one started in the vault for a while and worked backwards
I encourage messing about with lore for the sake of OC backstories, haha. I have a sky kid OC who was a living being who perished in the Shattering, having barely reached the safe confines of the vault where she studied in life, and was a spirit for years until she ended up going on a sort of accidental trip through eden and ended up very confused having been reborn as a sky kid.
That’s a neat backstory!
thanks!
Maybe our skykids could be friends
if you want something lore aligned, perhaps your sky kid happened to fall from the sky in the starlight desert? collab season areas are kinda lore-adjacent so not strictly sky lore, but there's a cool theory that starlight desert exists as an illusion created by the rogue purple light in vault (purple light presumed to have its magic effects being one of illusion) or perhaps the desert does exist, and rather the little prince aspects of it are illusory. regardless, it could work that your skykid showed up there, stumbled into vault, and was raised there (also i believe there are ghost mantas in the desert?)
Yeah! Maybe! Izar learned about their purpose through records in the vault, but when they actually reached their goal they ended up traumatized when they were reborn.
Yeah Gold had a rough time going through eden (and the 'accident' may have been more orchestrated than she thought. vault elder be real sketchy in her backstory lol)
She's got mixed feelings. Being a sky kid means she can interact the the world again, even if it's changed a lot since she last saw it, but also now she's in a cycle of death/rebirth that she never signed up for, so she's a bit resentful
Something to think about; why are our Skykid's personal rooms called "Nests"?
I mean, the area is called 'aviary' as in a place for birds. I think sky kids are pretty bird-like in theme
I affectionately call skykids “lil honkers”
I’d love to discuss oc lore more but I don’t want to flood the channel. Would you want to move to dms?
oh sure!
Oc Lore is so cool, I haven't really thought about my sky kid lore yet lol.
Anyways! Anyone wanna talk about the ghost mantas and why they only appear in the vault? Also, what exactly are the bones that appear at the vault of knowledge.
I think they’re projections. You’re even given an item called the manta projector that literally projects them
Ohhh
That appears to be a rendition of Home Island or Aviary
What's the real name for "Sky Kid"? Is it actually Child of the Light? Because I've noticed that Japan used 星/光の子 and Chinese used 光之子, which both translated to Child of Light. If so why are we calling them Sky Kids here? Another localization issue?
We ask everyone to please post only in English on this server, @hushed steeple. Unfortunately, moderators and staff aren't able to support all the languages spoken by our global Sky family.
Old concept art by Tom Zhao labels the skykids as 'Descendant'. The wiki says: "Sky Children (also referred to as Descendants, Sky Kids, Avatars, Children of the Light". The steam page adresses us as 'Child'. News posts refer to them as 'sky kids'.
Sky kids is certainly the most wide-spread one in the community, so much that even the devs/pr team use it (don't know whether the players came up with it first or the devs). But sky kids are never labeled as anything ingame iirc, so there's no 'right' term for them.
In the intro, we're referred to as "child"
Also, for @hushed steeple, English is the original language. Japanese and Chinese use Child of Light whenever English uses Child of Light.
The overall concept for the Vault seems to have been that reality kinda dissolves into a dream as you ascend higher though it. you can see it in the concept art, and the game tries to copy it literally after the first couple levels (the walls with the lanterns kinda disappear and you're left in a "vacuum" of sorts). Of course, the actual difference between "reality" and "dream" in Sky is itself kinda vague. You meet the Elders in a dreamlike trance state rather than "in real world" but it still has "real world" effects
As far as what the mantas are, it's kinda "left up to interpretation" (like so many other things) but it is very possible that they're actual "souls" of the creatures. The overall concept of "Eden" was that it was a "holy site" where all living things came to die and dissolve and return the The Light to be reborn – even before the actual Vault and the "power crystal" on top of it were built. In fact, it's very possible that what we see in the "Eye of Eden" was built as a sort of a "dam" to trap that flow of light rather than facilitate the cycle. So it would make sense that some of the "manta souls" would stay trapped there.
Oh, and there is also the thing about bones. Apparently the original concept was that creatures that die "peacefully" simply "dissolve into the light" but the ones that die "violently" leave behind "bones" (or rather, it's supposed to be some sort of charcoal-like material). But yea, those are manta "bones" (pretty sure real-life mantas have cartilage rather than actual bones but that's Sky for you)
Nice nice
Gives me more concepts and stuff to think about, also thanks for explaining :D
Wait, should we try to figure out why some seasons are put in certain areas and how it ties them thematically?
Isle of Dawn:
-Prophecy: Seems thematically resonant? With being a training place to get better, maybe a mystical place
Daylight Praire:
Memories: A beautiful area filled with wildlife and picturesque scenery
Sanctuary: A beautiful natural island full of light creatures and even friendly crabs in one place
Forest:
-Assembly: Makes sense as the forest was for building stuff
-Belonging: Uhhhh…
-Flight: I don’t know why it’s here and not Prairie
Aviary:
Nesting: A place of new home and rebuilding a village
Valley:
Rhythm: An entertainment place so it makes sense
Dreams: A place full of sports, it makes sense to want to learn ice skating and become a champion
Performance: More entertainment
Aurora: It’s a place of entertainment
Wasteland:
Abyss: A place with underwater sea monsters and pirates trying to dig up diamonds that have been left behind. Probably makes sense to be here
Enchantment: Magicians trying to escape the war who had a crash
Vault:
Remembrance: Because memories are stored here
Little Prince: it’s a fantastical fictional real life story. Makes sense to be in a realm of illusions
Deer: it’s a fantastical fictional real life folklore. Makes sense to be in a realm of illusions
