skybot is only a dispenser of bad jokes
The bot never gets credit.
It only devours theories and spits out jokes
I mean in the season of passage one (for the isle of dawn)
The Passage has the same lighting for the Starlight Desert, so I’ll say late night
Ooh, then what about Eden? Smol crescent moon is there-
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
What I said there, around 3-4 AM
Aah my bad! And noted
Baud was doing theories at 3-4am? /j (should have added this, lol)
I know most of the lore of the king so now what i want to know is about the king krill
the leviathan of treasure reef?
Yes
When it come to dark dragon or leviathan
I have no idea which creature did they become from (for leviathan is comos manta or something right?)
Would two embers be considered direct lore to sky cotl or a spinoff?
When it releases
lore from a different source.
just like TGC announcements. messages here and possibly the concept art found online
Oooo that is actually interesting
Oh yeah in the concept art that you show @nimble ingot the war was between the kingdom and the light creature right
as far as I understand teh lore and what it looks like in the art, yes
In there the creature like dark dragon become after the war because the exploding of ark
But in the two ember teaser there is a dark dragon in the middle of the war strange isn't
Well we don't know how old dark dragons are, and we don't know how they came to be
But we do know corruption did exist before the shattering, even if in lesser amounts
So dark dragons existing back then makes sense to me
That is true
There's also a krill in the Wasteland Aurora song. The quest one, not the concert version, and that seems in a war like setting as well with spears being launched around.
It looks very similar to the lore already found in the game, but told through a different light
I'm thinking that two embers will be split into 2 povs, pre-eden crystal exploding and after
I definitely see similarities between hopeful steward ingame and one of the characters in two embers- who could potentially be one of the protagonists
Not just similarities, I think they’re the same character
It would make sense for a marketing perspective. If they’re having moths start at aviary, then the first character they’ll meet will be the main character in Two Embers. You could either start with the show or start with the game.
here is something that come in my mind in treasure reef they are experimentation the light creature with dark stone and we can see there is some dragon there
I'm certainly hopeful, but I didn't want to assume cuz we barely know anything about the series other than the teasers which doesn't give us much
I’m like 99% sure, they have the exact same hair
You know, we should make a prediction bingo for the Two Embers
I would absolutely love a two embers bingo!
what if the prince was trying to create something that were help him in the war against the light creatures and they create these dark dragon
But they can't control these creatures and dark dragon are trying to kill every light they see
That why we can see those dark dragon in the war
XD
Leviathan is to counter the elder creatures the ultimate weapon XD
is there any explanation for the hard to find star platform thing above the top of the vault of knowledge?
Where is this?
at the elder shrine or w/e at the top of the vault, if you fly up above the island, it reveals like a octagonal platform with a walkway outlined in stars, or so it appears. but theres no collision, cant stand on it or anything. and it only reveals itself when the camera is close to it.
You got any videos or pictures of it?
the camera thing is so particular it wont normally appear unless youre zoomed in or youre looking up while flying up to it
i can record something real quick
I assume it’s just the Days of Style platform on that realm that got left behind, an event we just had in October:
that looks like it. the platform is gone but that sparkling effect is there when your camera is close enough
since i already made the clip lol
I wish I could’ve given you a more interesting explanation than a fashion runway... but at the very least it looks pretty
🪩
What are some common theories that have been proven wrong?
I've been looking around for a bit and I'm curious as to how much the Fandom lore theories have changed with the addition of each season
Since the Abyss, shattering, Arora, and Remembrance seasons have added alot of important clues
Wanna try and peek in here once in a while
Do we have any explanation on why the Belonging spirits use bells in their cutscene? (More of us calling them with bells to start it actually) Is it like, a family tradition they have? Because Grandma (wait- everyone does there) is seen to have the bell on their official art and when her timed event starts
I've relived 3 of the spirits and thought has lingered since
The bell makes me think of the tradition of ringing a bell for dinner
And the belonging guide is preparing and calling everyone together to a meal, don't they?
and if I recall correctly, it is our skykids that ring a bell to get the attention of the spirits - basically forwarding Belonging Guide's call to their family
Oooou so more of the tradition
It seems so, the entire theme for the table / timed event is having a meal
Yeaas that! OOH oh that's cute
they ought to have a meal after venturing out on all the relams
hello I ask this every time I can't remember but what are the elder's fan names and where do they come from?
From Alasdair:
The Elders have names based off Hebrew letters from concept development that are no longer canon, though the fandom sometimes refers to them as such:
Isle – Daleth (ד)
Prairie – Ayin (ע)
Forest – Teth (ט)
Valley – Samekh (ס) (They share a name. Though fandom often calls one ‘Sah’ and the other ‘Mekh’ to differentiate)
Wasteland – Tsadi (צ)
Vault – Lamed (ל)
The devs refer to the Elders by the times of day their realms represent:
Isle – Dawn
Prairie – Day or Daylight
Forest – Rain
Valley– Sunset
Wasteland – Dusk
Vault – Night
Thank you that's exactly what i was looking for!
Also while i'm thinking about it, the Eden Elder is somtimes called Resh and somthing else i think. Where does that come from?
Alef and Resh, one name for the 'Prince', one for the 'King'
both names and concepts are again taken from old concept art
this/these figures don't play an as explicit role in the game as they did in the concept art, though hints of the king's storyline are still trickled in here and there, and may be elaborated on in the upcoming Two Embers animation
thank you yet again lore master
Not proven, but the idea that the realms of Sky are in a time loop, or that they’re the same area in different time periods.
It’s been slowly deconstructed by new additions, such as seasonal areas
So Eden kinda represents the witching hour
I wish the two embers aired in theaters! The experience would be 100x more surreal
Yeah!
Less of a theory and more of a headcannon. But I like to think that the dark plants are like on a fungus.
I remember the crying spirit and how thier freind's grave was coverd in the dark plants and how multiple light creatures were trapped by it and I was thinking that it could be something similar to a parasitic fungus or something. Leeching off of the warm damp places (spots with lamps in the forests and in the dark water)which would be a good environment for fungus to spread.
This includes the stretching mycelium roots that are invisible under ground. Us players can't see it but with each server split, the dark plants pop up again and we can see them continue to spread beyond damp/warmth/ places where it has nutrients (light)
The polluted water is like a medium for it to grow the fastest since it has all this decayed matter (bodies from the war or waste from refining darkstone) and while it would be cool for it to be a way for a new cycle of rebirth similar to how the earth recycles.
But the darkplants are too much for any sort of healthy cycle to continue, and with the abundance of light (I think the leftover waste from refining darkstone would be like candy to it, some sort of light would be left over until it "rots) and people using it, it got too bad and overpowerd everything.
Is there any collection where I can read what's known about lore canonically, and then most known fan theories? I've seen bits here and there but can't make it into any sort of whole picture yet. So many questions.
Like, it seems that there was a war, but why and between what sides?
Why don't all spirits wear capes? While some spirits are known to be able to fly (like Flight season spirits) many are seen mostly going by foot. Are spirits and sky kids even the same types of beings? I mean other than spirits sometimes being just memories.
Do sky kids remember their past lives after reincarnating or do they lose memories and look different each time but still retain their bonds to other people who became their friends and meet them again and again? Or maybe they do remember everything, and that's somehow connected to how they can save other souls from statues in Eden, because they carry power and wisdom through many lives and with each one become spiritually stronger (that's also reflected by starting with more and more wing power the more deep connections with other souls one makes)?
Also back to the topic of war, in a world where reincarnation is a known fact and not just a belief, I feel like for a war to start it would take a very different clash of ideas compared to what we're used to. Did someone try to mess with the cycle of rebirth itself maybe and others tried to stop it?
Im hopeing to do one some day😅
You are preaty right on the money for most of it☺️
I have spoken on this subject a few times already on the chat, and covered a lot if these points
The one thing I will add is the whole mater of the light energy.
In this world, the cycle of light is the phenomenon that allowes for life to exist. Light energy flowes throught the enverimant, it is adsorbed and shared among living beings, eventually returning to Megabird and then droped back into the world.
Dark plants ( and by extention dark creatures like krill), dont work like that. They are kinda like black holes, constantly consuming and growing but not giving back any of the light.
The light they consumed is efectively removed from the cycle of light.
Light does also hurt the plants, as direct atack of light can burn away the hardened dark goob that is there darkness body, and when fully burned, all the light that they have absorbed is released, and so it could be put back into cyrculation
So Dark plants leach off the light that it was able to defeat, but is itself by strong light that is used to fight it. This is why it is always foubd in caves and dark areas, and regions infected by darkness away from direct light that could harm it.
Its roots suck up the light from within the ground, while its leafs and brambles try to catch and subdue light creatures in order to drain them of there light
The whole observation you made about the war, and poluted waters, and the dead minors is also spot on
I think that in the days of the war and shatering there was much light that was lost and gotten traped within the poluted and dark infested earth, which dark plants could easaly absorbe in order to grow.
These days even if we burn off the upper part, the mycilin roots have spread too much, and would grow again .
I think this works very well with my theory that the war was because someone wanted to stop the cycle of rebirth, and invented a way to create Darkness to make the Light be controlled, but it of course backfired
I mean I know there's not a very big chance I guessed the canonically correct version, but as a headcanon it seems to be logically sound?
One of my favourite things about settings where not much lore is known is that as long as the logic is good, many really probable theories can exist
We will have to see☺️
I dont really think thats quite the case, but Im too unshure about this myself to really argue☺️
I notice an animation when our flame get extinguished and our wings of light start to get destroyed, darkness begin to seeps from our body and the darkness also destroying/breaking our cape- tbh that might be game mechanics but ye-
Darkess in and off itself is something ( as a force) is something that existed long before the war and shatering. This is something that was stated by TGS itself.
I dont think that the ancesters had anything to do with "inventing darkness" or planed to use it for there own purpos, but I do belive that the actions and chain of events dureing the war age and the shatering coused the plagew of darkneass we know now
Well yeah
I mean it makes sense that it was not created from scratch, I worded it a bit wrong there, I'm thinking more like it was materialized from being a cosmic force into appearing as a solid form where it just didn't belong. Because the idea of making the light stay in a static shape was connected to the idea of darkness, and so the intention is what summoned it.
Ah, thats much better☺️
Although I still dont think that any of it was on purpous
I think its more of a phisical manifestation of the fear, anger and despear of ancesters and light creatures, the polution and sacreficed light creatures, and the explosion of the edan diamond, that all mixed together to form plague of darkness we see today
Darkness feels more like a phisical manifestation of all the bad that existed in the old kingsom, rather then something that the ancesters wished to utilise that went out of controle
In my personal worldview, darkness is
- what shapes eternal ideas of worlds into worlds with mortality and linear time and physical bodies
- what brings the end of all things in the end, as a part of cycle of all things mortal
- In a soul, Light is our eternal Spirit, and Darkness is Shadow, and without Shadow no personality can exist because Spirit doesn't have any one specific character or desire or wish or motivation other than to create. Everything detailed comes from Shadow, while Spirit guides its shape to be in harmony with everything.
- No connection to Light = no harmony. If it comes to that, Darkness loses ability to satisfy its hunger and consumes Light insted of working in harmony with it as a cycle
also, Darkness even in harmony still wants to consume and has desires, but they are limited to what's natural for the cycle
That is a fascinating theory

Honestly I feel kinda bad for going "am actually" on this, since it is so interesting, though also a bit here or there as far as evidence goes.
This is why I cant wait for the animation to come out, where we could finally see the nature of light and darkness in action☺️
hey lore chatters
SUP
As far as i know about the lore the prince was the one who destroy the cycle of life cause they found the dark stone
Not intended though
Do we know anything about the source of all that fear anger etc? Something had to happen because it wasn't like that from the start. Yeah we'll learn more soon(ish?) but I like theory crafting anyway.
So like, in my current headcanon (that I'm making up on the way) it was all good and spirits lived in harmony and they knew about reincarnation cycle, but some got upset that they have to go through death and rebirth, they didn't want to live through loss even if they knew they'll meet their loved ones again, but everyone would also be different, and they went like, why we have to go through that, we like the way things are, why don't we make things stay as they are, at least for our group/kingdom/whatever.
And other kingdoms saw that and were like "hey no stop, we're sure you'll mess up the whole cycle by trying that"
So the first group runs experiments to achieve eternal life, the second group tries to stop them, war begins, then something really bad happens and maybe the war makes it even worse then it could be, and here we are.
I know I didn't account for lots of things bc I don't know much about prince/king and the darkstone, but I mean, in my theory the darkness was not intentional, but the intention was doomed to bring it into the world (no one new what exactly would happen tho, some just guessed it'd be bad). That's because (in my opinion) the desire of keeping something to yourself (if it harms others and the order of things, simply wanting is ok) is a part of what darkness is when it's not in harmony with light, so building something around this desire to change the order of things is in itself an idea born of a soul's inner darkness.
Well it can be like that in some way but from what we have know from the concept art is the war was between the kingdom and the creature of light because of using too much dark stone technology ( it was from old concept art so the lore might shift alittle bit )
i say it can be in that way because in battlefield of GW there is two type of shield so meaning there is third party in the war
oh everything you have said is kind of same with the prince mind set (my theory)
also in Season of Remembrance, Pleading Child's memory his mother is taken away by soldiers for some reason, and overall vibes are more human vs human conflict. Also I remember the memory of warriors being attacked by spears
As far as the concept art and a some of the game evidence is consern, the big problem that coused the war was more conected to the masive strain on the enviromant that that the production and overuse of crystals tech was haveing, and the fact that in the late cryatal era, the production involved traping and killing mantas and other light creatures in mass in order to produce the crystals.
In the old version of the story, the war was one between light creaturs and ancesters, with the giant sceletons in the waistland the remains of giant light creaturs like whales and elder mantas loosing there lifes.
In the new version, the war is shown as more a war between light ancesters, but with the sceletons still being in Waistland, and new seasons like Abyss and Aurora keep showing stuff that hint at light creature captivaty and draining still likely being cannon in the current game, I think its safe to say that the conflict was more about a civil war between those who suported the way things were in the sociaty, and those who oposed it
Yeah third party XD
I can fit this in my theory: maybe the desire to stop the cycle was the original motivation that lead to live sacrifice powered technology, with technology originally being created only for experiments and rituals (the dead bird on the altar in the location with golden rings, I'm bad at remembering names of places). Then some people started opposing aggressively to those experiments, and to defeat them the machines were weaponized, and even more life sacrificed (that's how wars normally go, born of intentions that were not maybe so bad by themselves, but achieved by unethical means)
You do you buddy😅
I can also see the other way to see all this and it's more like classic stories about pride and breaking everything around you by using it for your own gain, I'm just less interested in that type of stories personally
It's just too clear that doing that is bad and stupid and will backfire (but people still do that, yeah, I know)
Like I said, you do you budy☺️
Thats why we have personal headcanons
here I agree (and as a multiverse believer I can easily fit them all in my mind too)
I'm just sharing the way I like to see this, in no way I'm saying mine is more right, I just want to see how well I can fit it with known facts
and I like listening to other versions too
sorry if it sounded like I'm saying mine is better (I think everyone likes their own ideas the most and it's just natural but I know it may sound wrong)
I just like to discuss and share different angles to see the same thing in many variations, and thankful for you discussing it with me
Hey all this is just whats been on my mind and I wanted to say it to help people add to their theories and or make new ones. Ever notice how when we reach the prince after perishing to the many rocks of eden. He is the only other light being in that place. What of it? Notice how he never seemingly is able to leave that area and appears sad and alone. My headcannon is that darkness became more corrupt as a manifestation of his resentment either at himself or whatever caused him to reach this point. You would think that eventually eden would run out of rocks to shoot but it seems like it is also being manifested in what seems like spiraling unpredictable waves of depression that the prince feels. Notice how crabs alone in dark caves or areas closer to eden all seem aggressive while some crabs on sanctuary island are peaceful. I think maybe they are expressing the angry thoughts the prince had in a hive mind fashion where more dark creatures gather in areas that were perhaps painful to the prince as we can see the golden wasteland used to be just that, bright and sunny as seen in the two embers trailer. The war must have been very painful to him and his rage manifests itself more in these areas. Also lets talk about something. One of the spirits in the starlight desert can be seen drinking darkwater in the way some depressed individuals drink to forget. I think its safe to say the water clearly has a mind dulling affect and this water is present in areas that are once again seemingly painful in some way. Despite his rage, he is still full of light even in such a dark space meaning he is a dual representation of there is good within bad and bad within good. Without good there is no bad and without bad there is no good. The same applies to light and dark. Again these are just rambled thoughts and some headcanons for yall to take in and either make new theories or add to your own hope this sparks interest. Its also 4:38am as I write so forgive the switches of thought
OH I forgot one thing. So since it has been confirmed that the realms represent different stages of life. What if the prince helps us with rebirth because he is hoping to leave with us one day but for unknown reasons can’t just yet. Plus with it being shown the isle elder helped raise him in some way shape or form. I believe the prince is actually the one showing you the memories of the spirits you free so you can help ease his pain for what he did. And maybe that mindset is why he is so bright in such a dark place that should otherwise turn him into a dark being too
I always thought the white figure in Eden void is representation of our inner light, how it is sometimes too hurt to reach for others first, but still there. And that's why 2 wingless turn into 1 winged after they hug, finally finding harmony.
Or, well, could be combined into a theory of us being prince's reincarnation. I like such stories, it's a bit weird to be canon but I like it.
Yes! I love reading and making theories with people
well i like the story of it yeah kind of weird i can say cause our sky kid are a Descdendant ( some thing call hybird) but the unknow lore of these day it can use in some where
Also i also though that shiny boi was our self but i kinda of like the story of it was the prince who was trap in the darkness
If I understand correctly sky kids are a new kind of being, but being born as a new 'race' does not contradict that the soul could be old and existed as another type of being before. A bit unclear what 'Descdendant' is, since here it's clearly not literal offsprings of other beings
I'm might get ignored, but I'll try to ask here...just curious what is this darkness plant doing here? is there something behind this clouds?
People have been trying to figure out why there's a dark plant there too, so don't worry, you're not alone in this part
And I have a quesiton, how big is the elders??
I mean I know they are big- but how big we are talking??
Cuz this shard memory is big so im going to assume they are big too
And I don't see the Prairie and Golden Wasteland Elder too- maybe it was too dark for me to see
Is there a reason why avairy seemed so deserted? There are implications that it is lost/forgotten for god knows how long. No spirits, or any life form until we arrive to help the guide. We don’t even have seasonal spirits at all. It’s just mannequins. Could avairy be the first place that was affected when Eden was corrupted or something? (I don’t know if this belongs here but it’s just my thought about the place)
They’re there, they’re just in the dark, and they’re huge
Fair enough
I would love to know more about this, cuz I saw the diagram in concept art stating we are descendants, but I would love to know how we differ from previous incarnations of beings.
I can sorta see it in the way that it might be mandatory for all skykids to have a cape and that we need to have access to flight, but I wonder about any other differences we might have?
Tho I don't see Prairie and Golden Wasteland Elders
And this interests me
Oh and this too!
it's very interesting that on the map both our homes are on the edge of the map opposite from Eden, while floating islands with wind paths are in the center.
It may be a very long-forgotten place of origin of everyone, or it may be a home to sky kids only, a place where spirits came only when sky kids found them and invited them.
Or maybe it was just some secret place that was built later and it was supposed to be safe from war, but was still damaged and deserted.
Also both homes connect to portals and only Aviary connects to wind paths, but it's not a center of wind paths. I wonder from where the portals were built.
Eden shards have been landing in every realm except Isle, going as far out as Prairie. It could be possible that when the corruption of Eden was at it’s peak/most powerful, the shards landed in aviary and forced the inhabitants to either escape to the other realms (reason why we see spirits everywhere in the world of sky apart from Eye of Eden itself) or gotten corrupted trying to do so.
technically they don't land in both homes either, in Aviary it's only some old darkness plants and it seems that they don't reappear after burnt (if we exclude the one plant that was in test builds). So this whole edge of the map opposite from Eden, with homes and Isle, is safe, but Aviary was damaged once and stayed deserted even when danger passed, probably forgotten.
It's more likely that in other realms there was more trouble from shards, so I'd bet Aviary was hurt less by shards and more likely by war before the shards, and the Darkness is leftover from war more likely.
Maybe aviary was damaged due to the war between ancestors and not necessarily connected to the war on light creatures. It could be like a ransacking of enemy ancestors after the light creature war due to dwindling resources. Aviary isn't as well fortified or even as populated as valley or even wasteland
For me, aviary is considered to be some sort of ‘safe haven’. I doubt there would be some sort of war in the area, since there isn’t much proof of one (no weapons laying around). Unless there are two factions whom both don’t agree with what the other one says. The only place where we’ve seen war was in Golden Wasteland, but I don’t think it would reach from there to aviary. The most probable answer for me is that Eden shards landed long ago in the area, because the power of the Eye of Eden’s corruption was at its peak, where it can launch shards all they way across the world of sky. The dark plants that remained was from the shards. But I respect your opinion.
yeah, if we assume that there were 2 warring sides, it's logical that enemies mostly lived on the other side of the map. Valley is closest to Eden, kinda gives a lot of vibes of a very proud people and there's that altar with dead bird there, it could lead them the wrong way. On the map Valley and Eden marked almost by the same color, also.
Wasteland is between Valley and Isle&homes. It's likely that most war clashes were there. Praire and Forest seem more out of the way, there's not much built there.
as I see it, it WAS safe heaven, but Valley/Eden army won in the Wasteland and found Aviary, no weapons because no one was back there to protect it, they just destroyed it without much struggle at that point.
But yeah, we can have different headcanons and that's good
Guys, quick question. Is the PNR supposed to be a literal point of no return? Like you're to stay there for an eternity after ascension?
Or was there another deep meaning to it?
if you go into the memory and use a glow spell its easier to find them! also bring a charging prop just in case
I think it was the Valley army. I did remember the AURORA concert at the 'Warrior' song, and they showed there the people capturing the mantas. The same mantas appeared while in constant war in the Golden Wasteland in the 'Seed' song, therefore showing the scene of the past battlefield where the war commenced. Which is then connected to the whole scenery of the entire Golden Wasteland that we all see.
deep calling also helps
I think it's canonnicaly more about reincarnation than about ascending and staying there for good?
Personally, to explain both, I usually use 'different sparks of the same flame' metaphor. When we live, we do so as a small spark. When we die and ascend, this spark remains as an eternal memory, and so spirits can come back and have their old personality even when technically they already moved on. Because the new reincarnation is a new spark from that same flame.
Ahh, QwQ I don't have oneee- and will do! If I have the chances again
also in the seed, the battlefield is being bombarded from above with cyan light, the same color as the air/wind light powers that the valley elders are canonically shown to have in prophecy. AND THEN when you go into wasteland what happens? a giant wind storm. coincidence i think not
It is a coincidence. More so like a connection to the lore of the Golden Wasteland, thanks to AURORA's concert.
Yeah Aurora reveals a lot if you connect the dots a bit
That does kind of make sense. I just had a talk about the same matter with someone else in this server, and they think that the PNR is basically not making sense because of the big door. And they thought that adding a giant statue blocking our path would make much more sense of PNR.
Actions speak louder than words, I must say.
I want to mention the storyline in Sky did mention spirits take their light for granted and we see some selfish ones too- (the one in Abyss and one in Aurora but they change after realizing that jellyfish help them)
there’s a lot of evidence for Valley being on the other side of the Wasteland war, and the Aurora memories are some of the strongest evidence out there. I’ve written some about this before:
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Oh right, the jellyfishes. The concert AND the Mindful Miner's memories did show them capturing the jellyfishes. But I don't quite recall the part of the abyss. It's either I haven't seen it yet, or maybe I did but I couldn't place it due to memory loss.
It's the last quest where we need to save the spirit that got greedy and decide to hunt for more dark crystal (forgot the name) from king krill or thousand eyes monster? (I think that's the name)
And speaking of Krill King, I found this
Maybe they're fighting themselves. In my POV, you did mention that the people in Golden Wasteland rebelled against the use of darkstone. Whilst the others benefited from it, therefore relying onto the darkstone.
And since you also mentioned the sun shields, I could guess that the community of the Golden Wasteland was split. And those residents moved towards the Valley of Triumph in a way, therefore starting the preparations for the war.
I've looked up about that in the Sky: COTL Fandom Wiki earlier. I saw a similar image with a name, but I couldn't recall. It can be seen in the Treasure Reef, so I assumed it was that dark creature.
I don’t think Cackling Cannonneer was necessarily selfish, the whole Abyss crew was scavenging for treasure (darkstone) to keep their equipment running and survive. In their time, the old refinery was already flooded and krills already existed, so their lifetimes were probably after the war and possibly even after the Eden disaster. Wasteland was not in good shape. They were just doing what they had to.
That’s not to say that the theme of ancestors taking their light for granted isn’t present in Abyss. The murals show how before it was abandoned, the people working at the refinery took light from creatures to power darkstone, which resulted in the creation/release of the corrupted creatures. It’s actually the only place that explicitly shows this process - the rest is implied through context clues. So we do see their exploitation of light creatures there, but not from the spirits themselves
Can I have a look at that wiki? (if that's fine- if not it's alright, I can look it up myself)
Yes!!! And this goes back to the Golden Valley theory, which is why I said they were previously close or possibly even united
True- I guess they were envious of us having more dark-crystal than them
And decide to get risky which surprise we need to help! (love that honestly /s)
And there are also two spirits in the Aurora one (the jellyfish one) they still hunt the jellyfish
Oh, you're right. Seems to me that the representation of using darkstone can connect to the human's desires of advancing further to live a comfortable life.
Also maybe selfish isn't the right term- maybe greedy?
I think they're of the same definition?
Wait nevermind, greed is the attitude of wanting more; selfishness is the attitude of never sharing their goods to others.
Idk English isn't my first language ;w;
Greedy is a type of selfishness,
Selfishness has its places in life where it’s necessary but greediness’s is about over abundance at the expense of others in a way
Im guessing thats just the border of the aviary village proper. We were able to cleare up most of it, but hidden away in secret dark corners of that land, a bit of darkness still remain. If this village were ever abandoned and forgoten like before, it will shurrely revert back to how we found it the first time
Yep!! Mindful Miner’s memory shows the mining of the stones themselves, and ancestors driving away the jellyfish only to realize later that the jellyfish are there to help them. In the Warrior memory, the society has progressed from that point, and two things are clear:
- darkstone tech is widely used at this point, resulting in the grandiose standards of living in Valley, and
- mantas in Valley are being captured en masse, as things are being produced on a much larger scale.
I remember seeing some sort of dark plant in the early aviary beta so I think it’s part of that
I’ve also always thought it was really interesting how the spirit memory shows Warrior of Love living their best life in one of the fanciest areas in Valley, while the light creature memory of the same song in the same place shows the mass capturing and exploitation behind all that luxury. Really fits with the theme of duality in Valley and i’m obsessed with it
I call two-faced!
I would say desperate
This just popped out of my mind. That the first memory in AURORA's quest AND the 'Runaway' song are the only ones separate in this whole Valley-Wasteland War.
i love valley so much, for the fun parts yes, but also for the dark secrets
the symbolism!!! the contradictions of the system!!! the duality of man!!! 💥‼️
Come to think of it, the spirit and light creatures' memories are the most obvious things that teach us the reality of two-faced people. It's like hidden in plain sight. Or at least, that's how I think of things.
every time you say two faced i gotta laugh a little because

What better symbol for all these contradictions than the silly goofy twins who also might be ||silly goofy war criminals||
The twin elders!
I can't with them, they give off total sibling rivalry vibes!
More so like the Flim and Flam from MLP, but quite the opposite.
I love them but they’re complicated lol
Yeah, just makes you wonder how their minds work.
Valley seems like a place where people just compete for fun and all's good until you start looking at details
Make sense since they want to make things easier by creating dark crystals and harvesting creatures of light! Desperate and wanting to see what the future holds for them end up with something worse
i mean, for the Abyss spirits, they kinda have nothing left to lose? the exploitation and pollution already happened long ago, they’re just there trying to survive on the remains
Like unravelling what's underneath the blanket or something.
They heavily rely on scratch. Oh, so that's why the Abyss Guide's quests were focused mainly on scavenging darkstone!
ohhh yes. in my headcanon/fic they’re like, very persuasive and likable, charismatic leaders who can rationalize anything even to themselves
Ooh- but wouldn't it apply to the elders and the pasts too? Wanting to create a giant dark crystal for something good (without realizing the consequences)
they genuinely want to do things for the greater good, but they mess up a lot, and yes this goes to all the elders to some extent but especially them in my interpretation
I feel like Valley twins likely were not the ones who started the war, but when it started probably acted out of pride and made it worse instead of trying to make peace when it was possible yet
oh yeah, in my hc they didn’t want to fight but it was like, welp, another necessary evil ): sad
Yep! Also, my wording might be harsh with calling them selfish and greedy (sorry in advance)
To which ended up having that big red bursting crystal when you go to Eden, at the wl shepherding part.
about the overall reason for war, my theory (quote older post)
The thing about the abyss spirits is...
They are deffinetly in a situation where they need to do anything they can to get by.
The end of sociaty as they knew it came and went, so now they must scavange what they can to survive.
Still, its this also doesnt exclude the possabilety that some of them might have some more selfish tendencies left over.
This is probably more a result of there upbringing, as there parents all lived dureing the golden age of the old kingdom, and they lived in an enviromant where those kind of tendencies were more comman
And children need to help them! Which is us-
anyway this all still leaves the question who started the war bc Valley twins don't feel like that. The prince/king/Eden elder?
Wow new lore enjoyers! Just a reminder:
- assembly scouts committing crimes is real (stealing doors)
- only good things happen in the basement :)
rebellion in Wasteland got out of hand, they react to it, I do see the king being part of it as well because they don’t want a rebellion against them obviously
From what I see- something seems to trigger it and we know the spirits hunt creatures of light- maybe they are fighting over who wants this and who wants that?
It isn't likely that the Eden elder would start the war. It could've been the Golden Wasteland elder.
so the irony is that the Light side probably started the war
or it could’ve just been the people in wasteland reacting to the horrible conditions, pollution, and dark creatures popping up
I don’t even think it’s that ironic, this kind of thing happens all the time in the real world
the real world is also ironic in a very sad way tho
Hmm, we don't see any memory of that besides pollution..- We only see how war affects the spirits (Season of Remembrance)
Unless im missing something-
people fight for change, the powers that be fight back, etc. it’s a very human story
The hints are in the environment. Wasteland is full of factories and industrial infrastructure, and darkness as a byproduct of the industrial process
I'd take this side of the story. I think the Eden Elder wasn't responsible for the start of the war. More so even discovering the usage of darkstone.
Also, the Golden Wasteland people may have taken action upon the matter, supported by their elder. And since we assumed no one listened, the Golden Wasteland Elder might've lost temper.
I prefer the version that the war started because Wasteland people just decided that the way Valley is going is horrible and wrong, and pollution only came later as the result of war, at least in such massive consequences
using creatures of Light as fuel seems enough to rebel for me
But they may have discovered the usage of darkstone and that's where the pollution grew. Before the war even began.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message on how the war “started”, and the post that got me really curious about all this
I think pollution started but was not bad enough for a war at that point. But that's just how I feel
right but you gotta remember that pollution in gw isn’t just pollution, it’s also corruption that turns creatures into monsters and kills people
In my perspective, it could be quite similar to us humans, in a way. When we're too focused on such desires, our minds become polluted with twisted desires, which may result in greediness. And in worse cases, insanity.
Hmm yes, I notice that but what I meant is the spirits we see so far are adapting to it like some normal Tuesday well some- Nvm maybe you are right
It's mostly just my preference but for me conflict is more meaningful if it happened around some ideal, not just means to survive on both sides. Since world of Sky is kinda closer to a world of spirits, I feel that ideas and ideals are the main driving force behind global events. But that's just how I prefer to look at it
so while one side may have lost themselves in their greed, for me the logical next part is that their anthithesis did not simply fight because they got the shorter end of the stick, but because they understood it's wrong
yes, although it seems like the whole darkstone/light creature draining process was understood to be wrong but normalized for a very long time, getting the shorter end of the stick may have pushed more people to realize how wrong it was. both can be true at once
Wouldn't that mean the pollution in G.W. is already in a worse state? Since the prophecy cave drawings/markings show us Krill
It shows a krill, but not in GW. could be a symbol for the king driving the darkness away when they ascend, or, could be an ominous warning of something that would happen at an unknown point in the future
So much to relate with in the human world. What we realize is that it's wrong, but ends up normalizing it 'til we considered it as a habit/good thing instead of stepping up and taking action to put an end to that bad thing immediately.
The Prophecy murals depict, well, a prophecy, at the time when they were painted i think none of that had happened yet
I’ve said it a million times so sorry to anyone who’s heard it before but. When I first started, as a longtime Aurora fan, I was really confused about why they used The Seed, a protest song about climate change, in a fantasy game. but when you look into it, it makes total sense, the parallels are there
It could mostly be the third part. Since the process of refining darkstone uses the process of draining the light creatures' light, the Krills would most likely come from the mantas. The mantas were mutated because the darkness took over in and on them when their light was drained.
kinda reminds me about Nausicaa anime in how the topic is handled. Also in the fact that Nausicaa combines the topic of people ruining the planet, and people trying to create artificial God and messing with things they shouldn't because pride, and post-apocalyptic world is the result of both those topics
I’ve heard that before, but I haven’t seen it. Would be interesting if they did some kind of collab with that, I bet the season would be on par with Aurora in terms of Spilling the Tea ™️
I'd recomend manga more because anime just skips the best parts of the lore. But yeah it'd actually combine well both aesthetically and thematically
Oh is it a series? I thought it was a movie
it's a movie adapted from 4-volume manga and Anime only properly covers 1 volume
Anyways, is there any sign/hint as to who/what really triggered the war between the Valley of Triumph and Golden Wasteland?
This document is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit#heading=h.cmfnuox3fw3h
To answer your question, spirits wore capes but they couldn't fly with it. (In the Flight season, the spirits had to use boats for transportation.) Ancestor Spirits viewed it as an accessory, while for Skykids it's an inherent part of the light.
For the second paragraph, I think the latter answer is more likely. With wing buffs, Skykids slowly get stronger each time they go to Eden.
The third question is unconfirmed, but it does raise some very interesting points. The only way to Orbit is through Eden, so if Eden were to be occupied, it could become a disaster. We do see a shield in Eden, implying there's at least traces of a war.
No, the specific events are all speculation. The most the game usually gives us is just a general idea of what happened.
Resources might be the key since we see big skeleton whales in G. W. Maybe there are mantas too And
Since we see Valley use Mantas to race and idk what else to it. But there might be more to it- and I will ask the same question again, why a place like Golden Wasteland is called Golden? Is it because of the industries it made and the clean environment that they used to have?
the king returns
It could be because of the buildings that had gold parts in the area.
Honestly a bit farfetched-
That's likely to be elaborated upon when The Two Embers comes. But I think it's likely it had something to do with the Eden Eruption turning all the guides and Hopeful Steward into dark husks.
The name implies that it used to be great, but now it isn’t. As for what that might be like, use your imagination! It could be a golden city like in Valley (the buildings are very similar), or fields shining golden in the sunlight (Salem’s idea lol) or the golden afterglow of the sun in the dusk sky (my interpretation) or whatever you want it to be
Send pre-wasteland concepts, I love to hear them
I think that i the King, falling into their own creation.
Then the key that starts the war between Valley and G.W. Might be that tbh
Valley Elders: Gibe Mantas
G.W. Elders: No. It's for our factory.
Valley Elders: You have plenty!-
Idk a silly headcanon in my had xD
Valley had plenty of mantas, they just sent them away to be juiced
That's sad ;w;
GW only has 1 elder
OH THEN MAYBE IT'S IN REVERSE!
Since Golden Wasteland ecosystem is dying the um.. Steal some of the Valley to you know??
I prefer to imagine that Wasteland people were just more serious about respecting Light creatures, saw live sacrifices for comfortable technologies and went berserk
I mean the valley, I includes elders for the Valley- my bad for not being clear
Can’t have all that pollution here! I mean, what pollution? It’s not that bad. But we don’t want it here. we can’t build refineries here because it’s mountains anyway.
sad. what can you do, right? anyway, stop complaining and keep making stuff for us
by the way, do all darkstone tech demand sacrifices or if used moderately it can power a boat without it?
The AUDACITY
Also, why a soldier leader be leading a factory? It confused me a bit if it's like forest elder make senses-
no! the doors can be lit with just a flame, and some stuff in prairie uses butterflies (not killing them or anything, they just land, power the door and let go)
Well, darkstones need light. So even with the use of candle light like we do in activating them, I guess it isn't.
But in their timeline, I think it could be for big projects.
what if darkstone is basicaly not some 'evil' stuff that slowly corrupts and pollutes by itself, it normally stores and transfers power, but Valley people somehow found out it works better if you kill stuff for it and that's what causes pollution?
Like a battery? That stores light powah?
yeah, but using life sacrifice to power it turns it into nuclear power instead
both in terms of power and pollution
I don’t think Valley found that out, I think they just used it a lot. Forest seems to be the birthplace of that technology - they have the mines, and the temple is a factory full of experiments
I mean no one else seemed to use it this way tho
no altars with killed birds in forest
Isn’t it fun how Forest temple literally has a manta grinder above the anvil at the altar and when you light the candles you release the trapped mantas?
I think Valley was like "Ooohh forest? What is this- can we have a look??"
Forest is tired of dealing with the twins and lets them have them and explains to one of them what it is- and the twins being twins exploit it? (another silly headcanon btw)
Oh btw why valley is killing?
I feel like this is going in the direction of valley being evil and exploiting everyone else on purpose and I don’t think that was the case. their development was kind of a natural progression of the technology, and they used it freely without thinking of the possible consequences. then when the exploitation and pollution become clear later, they’re so dependent on that tech that they feel like they have to double down on those practices and fight to preserve the status quo.
Also, let’s remember that Wasteland would have had to approve those factories being built, believing that it would be a good thing. Vault also uses that technology heavily. I get what you’re saying, but I think placing the blame entirely on Valley for the pollution isn’t realistic. All the realms, except maybe Isle, were complicit in the process and probably believed it to be a good thing until proven otherwise. Valley would be in the wrong in hindsight, especially once those consequences become more clear and they respond by ignoring it, but it’s not cut and dry
Ahh, sorry if I sound that way, I got hooked up with the topic xD but it is a bit weird that they aren't affected much by what happened unless for shattering
Vault is pretty explanatory since it is a vault that keep things safe and hidden
I get you!! I just want to be clear that I don’t think it’s like All Valley’s Fault™️
The whole story is complicated and above all, tragic. we have the benefit of hindsight, but they didn’t know what their actions would lead to, even if some of those actions were clearly wrong
the using of manta or light ceatures for experiment was in the teasure reef right
Tho tbh I think it's like the butterfly effect- it starts small with a little accident that slowly becomes this
Tbh they are more slaying than killing- (silly headcanon again xD)
Like how did you people get to that topic of valley evil doing?
also agree
#lore-discussion-spoilers message read the chat starting here
Just a theory since all the realm are infected by some sort of darkness then we have Valley that is still looking mighty fine (like their elders)
Because of the technology they have there
Well Isle of Dawn is considered a desert- but it's not about them right now
for me it's definetly not evil vs good, in my headcanon it's practical vs spititual but both wanted to do good, they just had different understanding of what's most important to preserve. One side (Valley) cared about their people the most while the other side was ready to attack people for their ideals probably
That's maybe it tbh
I forgot Valley has an Elders which means they are genius too- and good leaders, we just see their immature arguments with each other one time- without knowing them well at all
Maybe what you said can be the truth
The elder who care about light creature is there one?
Not neceserally
GW is just the main battleground, since one side need to secure that realm to be able to lounch a proper full asoult on Edan, while Edan needed to secure GW with all its factory's weaponry and sea ports/trading routs to regain controle over the rest of the realms
I feel that while things might have gotten pushed back and forth at the start of the war, it eventually reached a kind of unstabil stailmate in GW
Of course, whatever the score of this war might have been, it all become a mute point when thw shatering happened
yes
In the war there is third party and that is where i can't figure it out
We have eden on one hand and light creature on the other hand and there is the third party
third party?
I mean, some would have deffinetly chosen to stay more neutral, but i dont know if thats what you mean?
No from what we have know from the concept art the war was between the sky kingdom and the light creature
But in the game battlefield Of GW there is two shield sing of fighting each other
And that other shield is the third party
also in Remembrance soldiers get killed by spears
I cried during that qwq
Yeah eden and GW on the same side they were fighting with the light creatures
Did they tho? Maybe GW was the field of war while it's people fought against Eden
No it was like defend line
A lot has changed since the concept art. We know Wasteland Elder
carries the sun shield, and would be on that side of the war, but the diamond shields are somewhat of a mystery. based on what we see in Aurora and Remembrance, I think Valley was on the other side with the diamond shields. That’s how we got on this topic
Ah yes, you are most deffinetly right about that one☺️
Still there have been some changes in the story from the old concept art days, which is something to consider
I think its also possible that this war might have had multiple phases, with it initially staring as a war between light creatures and GW/Edan (which they lost terribly given all the giant sceletons) which was the strow that broke the cammils back for the people who were mostly against the curent regime
Remember, we see GW as it was dureing the end of the war, but there were probably changes in factions over the corse of it, with EDAn being the only constant
Yeah i know it been sonetime now but we can fill the lore here and there with old one and new one and that what i am trying to do here the war is end at eden like the art say but we don't really have much info of the war but new update come and new season follow and all the piece are slowing geting in to it place that what i mean
Because it old it not mean it don't have place anymore it core story after all
I absolutly agree☺️
The whole theory I had about it starting out first with a massive asoult by light creatures and later evolving into a proper war with a resistance that works with the light creatures agains the greater forves of the Kingdom is my way of traing to combine as much of the old concept art lore with what is curently shown in the game.
Also, another theory I had is that a lot of the more advanced GW weaponry and torrents from the concept art did exist in the curent lore, but ended up getting destroyed in the begining phases of the war, which is why we see more conventional weaponry in all the current memories in the game ( the whales and other elder sky creatures might have gotten wiped out, but at least they made a devestating hit on GW deffences)
The only thing that was left the more advanced weapons are the cannons on the status of GW temple, but with the destruction of the crystal temples and no more suply chains, those were soon left with no power
I would like to hear if you got any more ideas about the war☺️
i love l,ore
Wait so there was a civil war within the kingdom??
Was two embers cannon?
It hasn’t been released yet, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be
So skykids would exist before the event that wiped everyone out?
Yes. Ushering stargazer’s memory in isle of dawn shows a skykid falling out of the sky, so even in-game there was at least one skykid that existed while people were still around
If the Elders/Ancestors are stars, what does that make Sky kids? Are we also the same species?
Skykids are a different species, but there’s some relation
Now that I think about it, Eden really and generally is a devastating place when we see it in-game. Since you mentioned those points, maybe Valley realized and saw the bad effects of too much usage of the darkstone. Whilst Eden didn't care about the consequences because they're becoming too reliant on the darkstone's capabilities.
Maybe Valley had reached out to Eden about the consequences of Eden's actions on using too much darkstone energy. But the message fell onto deaf ears and Eden kept doing what they did. Valley, angered by this, had started capturing mantas and prepared for an ambush in Golden Wasteland.
With Eden knowing, they also prepared for the war, and were too reliant on the usage and power of darkstone. The Golden Wasteland never knew any of this, and so they just got caught up in the war, unknowingly. The war escalated and Eden got the shorter end of the stick.
With Eden using too much darkstone power, hat leads us to the massive outburst at the middle of the kingdom in Eye of Eden, causing a total wipeout of all existence.
Was the golden wasteland always a wasteland?
It could be. But it mostly wasn't a wasteland in the past. We all saw in both the Season of Resemblance and Season of AURORA(the virtual concert) that a war has commenced in Golden Wasteland. So it would most probably be that the Golden Wasteland was a paradise, until it was made into a huge place of manufacturing and refining darkstone. Hence the word 'Golden'.
So the civil war was GW vs Valley?
Either that or it's EoE vs VoT.
Eye of Eden vs Valley of Triumph.
The water used to be clean in gw. The two embers show that it used to be bright and sunny with clear pools of water at the shipwreck
is there any websites with sky concept art that wasn't made by tom zhao?
fun fact, the shipwreck in the trailer has valley banners on it! the more you know
Check pins maybe
Another horrifying thought: the Hermit’s house has axes, despite there being literally no wood anywhere
bearhug hermit the slasher movie
let hate conquer your mind, warrior warrior
How strong are the spirits? We see in Hidden Forest there's one spirit capable of cutting off one big tree (not in one swift but still an impressive feat)
Maybe really strong???
The spears and Sheilds in the gw are MASSIVE. And so was a table in the vault.
Strong Spirits
It could be a design choice though. To make the player feel smaller and to make the environment more intimidating.
Can I add a silly theory? What if Spirits aren't the same as before (by that I mean, they aren't strong) that's why they make dark crystals to help them in the first place
So, one thing that I haven't seen people mention is the darkness as a disease or infection. My theory is based on the fact that crabs aren't naturally aggressive. The ones in the campsite are peaceful. What's the difference? No dark particles. The only reasonable explanation is an infection. Maybe the darkness needs violence somehow, or it needs a body to pursue creatures of light, so it infects neutral creatures and makes them dark. What do you all think?
There are the mutated crab that come with the shards.
Also the darkness has sort of been compared to it before. I mentioned my fungus hc a earlier. But for most people it's a direct cause from the pollution of the refinement of darkstone.
Darkness cannot exist without light and I is the LACK of light in the game the darkness can be purged with our light.
And in the arc caves it was shown that the crabs used to be friendly. It was untill the skypeople took thier water away in pots that they became aggressive.
There are freindly crabs in sanctuary Island too
Good to know. I'll look back on some older posts to try to get a better idea of the established lore. Thank you!
There's so much to read. I gave up trying to read everything already.
I'm sure people are used to repeating stuff by now
Good, because I have no idea what's going on.
We need an article with, like, all of the ideas on it. Just to refer to, if nothing else.
Honestly I think that would solidify things that still should be questioned. Alot of the game is up to interpretation if we state all of our own theories as fact then it would make it harder for newer people to come up with thier own stuff
Now an ref article with all the clues in the game would be v e r y useful and likely overwhelming
Don't take everything you read here as fact. Decide with what you find yourself and the evidence whether or not you want to belive it. People see things through a diffrent lense and with a different pool of knowledge and so they're going to come up with diffrent stuff. When I see people talk together about something they come up with very cool things.
O great lore nerds, my inquisitive brain has been riddled by this puzzle:
Okay so on the dune to the right of the Rose (the really tall one, starlight desert) I distinctly remember that dune being covered with flower things. I lost count of how long it’s been since their absence, but the flowers are not there anymore. It may be a design choice, it may be something different, but idk
There's a theory of Aurora almost being big as the sky universe is that confirmed yet or no??
When the last tree in Hidden Forest has fallen and the rivers in Golden Wasteland are poisoned, you cannot eat darkstone oh no
I mean, for all we know this might have happened as you described it.
But I dont think what we see in Edan now could tell us anythinh about how wrecked it was before it fell
Between the mother of all shatering events, the perpetual raging storm, dousens of krill all over the place and shard fragmants sucking the light energy of whatever might have survived......well theres not much for us to draw conclusive evidence from😅
With the Edan Diamond malfunctioning and going boom, traing to figure out how much Edan was damaged before the great shatering is kinda like traing to reconstruct how things looked in Hiroshima before the bomb droped😅
The only peace of evidence at all of a pre shatering Edan is this one pic in the sky animation trailer
I saw a theory based on murals from cave of Prophesies, that the Eden Elder was originally a skykid who passed the trials and gained wisdom, so he could be the first skykid
I hate to make this comparison, and I truly don’t mean to trivialize the IRL event to game lore on purpose —but is Eden shattering essentially the Hiroshima of the Sky universe? Meaning, was it abrupt and not boiling (as a volcano) for years on end? And what could’ve possibly led it to shatter once again, generations and centuries after the original Ancestors were gone? Please forgive me if this is inappropriate.

what is the darkstone lol
Stone magically powered by harvesting light creatures (manta, butterflies). At least that’s my interpretation 😭
That comparison might fit more to as if there were some other force which created the eden crystal as a thing of war
Personally i kinda compare it a bit to Pompeii, where ( as you even kinda thought ) its like a tremendous volcanic eruption took everyone out, with little to no warning at all beforehand. I cant remember if any writings survived that said they saw smoke before it exploded. Sometimes they're rather instant and tremendously explosive, like krakatoa.
Stuff like how the statues nearest to the crystal inside eden are frozen entirely in stone reminds me a lot of what archaoelogists found in Pompeii with people having been encased in the ash of the eruption and basically fossilzed on the spot
bit dark but another comparison is how ||a lot of the statues in eden are hugging another, or in groups. some of the people dug up in pompeii were also frozen like that with their loved ones where thats probably the last thing they thought to do in the panic
||
Eden itself also erupts in what looks like a huge explosion and flash, and then shards are sent out. The winged lights we find are also standing and staring, makes me wonder if they were staring at eden as they died, maybe having enough time to turn around from where they were and look, before it was over.
If you've never seen it, heres a clip i took not too long ago of a shard eruption, right as the shockwave hits me.
Eden still seems to erupt from time to time now, not unlike an active volcano, just far less violent now ( even though the shard eruptions seem massively violent )
I have a close-up picture of it!
That’s so depressing but yet so fascinating. Thanks for sharing
nice
the flash of light caught me off guard the first time i was around to see it start, and i was in the perfect location being in the desert, heh.
it gets absolutely massively bright around the mountain
And also, winged light are essentially souls of past sky kids?
Yes. . .
well that’s definitely something! 😭
that seems like a pretty fitting way to see it, in a way we might be taking their souls back to where their bodies are frozen in eden and freeing them to go back to the stars
oh i see, so then all of the technology uses darkstone? like the floating boats in valley?
You can go to a much closer location, the one where TLP found the Krill, you can see a beautiful eruption! It blasts me away tho
oh!! makes sense! we free both our ancestors and our siblings
There are 63 statues and we can collect over 100 and more does that mean some of the statues has crumbles into dust
next time it goes off in the desert like that i should try and catch it before the time starts like that and get a REALLY close recording
It might knock you off! Don't go as a chibi cuz It caught me off guard xD
Mhm! Forest, Valley, and Vault especially. Gates, doors, elevators. TGC calls Valley the downtown of Sky
I forget how many were around the map, I'd probably count the ones from ascending spirits as somethin else but im not sure
Ok, Its not really one to one
I used it to show how massive desrtuction at one point could make figureing out how things wore before the event extreamly difficult😅
Is 63 statuesfor 16 ac- so we can assume that. Else, there are stuck in the third part of NPR Eden (like really really far)
Maybe they’re only 63 because most of them have been freed after so many rounds and trips of Sky kids to Eden. But yes, there could be more elsewhere in OOB areas
The one that are hugging makes me sad ;w;
And you can say.. It's another one bite the dust- (sorry.)
Or! Maybe Sky kids present during the Blast died immediately where they were, looking up and onward. Which might explain why so many [winged light] are scattered across the kingdom. Albeit, there might not have been as many Sky kids as there were then versus now.
Though yes, it was probably really really bad eather way😅
A devestating event that effectuvely ended the age of the anceaters and brought about untold destruction, the constant dark cover in Golden Waistland, and the spread of darkness throughout the land
I supoase Chernobil is probably the better comparison😅
I mean there still the theory of crabs are originally sky kids maybe the one that is missing has became crabby?
Never heard of that theory
Well it's a hint from devssss- idk I saw a text of it here
ima borrowing this so you can read it
I would actually like to see that hint, since as far as I could tell this theory started mostly as a joke dureing days of mischif
We do see uncorupted crabs among a list of light creature concept art (preaty reacent ones too),
Here it is! The one I ping ping
Interesting!
There's also more but- I keep lagging because of so much text for me to scroll up qwq
If Sky kids got stuck as crebs that would be incredibly depressing
I have a dark theory, it's their head that falls off and becomes the crab :DD
Wait, how do you manage to see that?
TLP place
if you get there early before it has time to land, you get to see the whole eruption
Can you still see the eruption far away tho?
I remember seeing the shattering eruption in Prairie Cave, I can see shards eruption (while getting blown away somehow) well not inside the cave but outside
i imagine so, though it'd be pretty hard in some locations. i saw the shard fly down and land on someone when it was by grandma a week or so ago LOL
TLP?
The Little Prince area, I forgot the actual name
Ah, Starlight Desert!
By the overgrown rose garden.
Yes!, and you can go much much closer to the one where Prince meets the krill
Yup... Wait I don't wanna risk it now. 😰
Stupid shrimps
I- THEY DELETED MY MESSAGE
Technically he when Eden alone too
And I guess the s word isn't allowed
Oh right, my bad
Anyways brb now-

So it ended up taking me an extra week because doing out of bounds eden cheese seems to miss the trigger that actually causes eden castle to appear way higher above the mountain, but here are some much nicer clips showing it and how far it goes up, heh.
If @reef olive is still around i know they wanted to see it, if they haven't already looked themselves LOL
I never even noticed that looking up right there at the start, you can see the castle right there, so just in this scene alone you can see it ascends into the sky quite a bit
It almost seems quite offset too, nowhere near almost nestled into the mountain like it was
So does the castle go up during the ending and then for some reason move back down by the time you're back?
I guess so, LOL
no idea what the deal is there exactly now since it seems right towards the end when things are falling and crashing apart, is probably where it would be getting ripped out of the ground
Probably looking too hard into eden being a repeatable sequence myself
It does seem like it doesnt go all the way into orbit though, as we dont see it up there.
My last thoughts on it are like, maybe the darkstone inside the castle to make it float are actually barely powered when we see it, and the flood of light out of the eden crystal actually fully powers or overcharges the ones inside the castle, and thats actually what rips things right out of the ground and into the pattern we see there.
Its enough to lift it way higher into the sky than anything else, but in the time it takes us to return home, the surge of light we cause has stopped, and the crystals weaken again, setting it back into the mountain.
Maybe fits into the thought of the ancestors wanting to return to the stars, like this was their last project, and we end up in a way activating it. Though, its still not enough to propel the castle fully into the stars which is a bit sad, looking at it that way
I think the reason as to why TGC did that, is because of the map space? 'Cause it may be too large to load in.
Or maybe because when it's put above the source of the light, I guess the light from the red crystal will just pass through the floating castle, making it look like the castle just got laser blasted.
Maybe they had to put the castle in a separate platform to give the effect of ascension more lively. As if we get to see the castle before we get to orbit.
I wonder when we can explore this area? (Or we can- like OOB?)
Now the main question. How many Krill will roam there
I assume 5
Future version of sky: */reveals 50 krills
After Season of Revival, we'll get Season of Removal and are gonna get all our WL removed by krill
What-
The krill are coming
I mean, as long it's a quest requirement I don't mind tbh- since it is like a one time thing xD
To enter the season area, you must pay the krill toll
WL
Is there any exponential lore on the capes of sky kids/some ancestor spirits? I figured for a while that they were somehow a part of the sky kid because during some emotes it does its own thing, and obviously you can fly with them like wings.
Is it like an attunement thing? Would it be painful if the cape was damaged - aka its a more physical trait than just a cape?
It's clear to me that one can potentially switch it out and whatnot to match aesthetic, but I'd still like to know lore if possible
Probably as strong as regular humans, with some exceptions
Although I would love a Sky fighting game, some of these spirits are twigs
@quartz hare There is one.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
You can see it anywhere that Eden is in the background
Has there been any hint by TGC as to what the dragons looked like before they turned dark? We see the sky kid's version of a regular dragon for the Days of Fortune but I'm wondering if there is a glyph version somewhere in the murals.
I think they’re in the same location, it just looks different because we’re inside the giant beam that surrounds the castle
They definitely are a part of the Skykid, since a cape appears when we collect our first winged light.
No, but in the Switch trailer we do see a creature that’s similar to a krill, with the spotlight on their face
Hmm I watched the release trailer but it may have been the wrong video. I'm trying to do some artwork to summarize my lore theories in the glyph style so any hint will help
It’s the creature that the ancestor spirits were riding on
Oh ok. It looked sort of birdlike?
Yeah, but it does have the same spotlight as the krill
It looks like there may be another eye on the other side of this creature's face so I'm just making sure I'm looking at the right thing
I’m talking about this creature
That would make a lot of sense. I originally thought the dark dragons came from the light worms we see after Eden, but that makes more sense.
Light worms?
The
I imagine whales are a species, not a unique singular creature
So why not two whales
I mean the picture I sent
Oh
@edgy kernel check this out
A visual glitch, sadly
Aahh
That is elder bird btw
oh yeah i saw that the other day when i went up there its mega weird lmao
if any of yall know, where was this image from?
I recognize the spirits but not that scene
it's from that season's final cutscenes, which isn't accessible anymore
ahhh, i see
Its a glich that happened dureing shatering season.
Originaly ( and rightfully) there should be one
My best joke lore guess....the hight altitude air is playing tricks with your perceptipn🤣
What season? Can I know? (just reply with an emote if that season has a sticker)
I’ve got several theories abt that creature and why we don’t see it in the game
- specialty breed of domesticated manta that was dependent on the ancestors for survival and therefore went extinct after they died out
- extinct species that used to exist in Sky
- the species was originally from the ancestors’ original home that they left due to a calamity (we see the earliest ancestors arrive to the Sky continent via boat in the Isle)
- it’s just extremely rare… like the elder bird

- it’s not meant to show up anywhere else and they just put it in the trailer because it looked cool
I personally like theory 4 the best
Speaking of extinct/extirpated species… so far the masks of seasonal spirits imply (as far as I can identify) the existence of antelopes, foxes, several unseen species of birds (eagles, vultures, ducks, quails, rockhopper penguins(?)), goats, spiders, bats, jackals, rabbits, and deer. This is not including masks tied to IAPs or ||office|| events. It’s also important to note that I may have misidentified what these masks are meant to represent, or that they do not represent a species which exists in the land of Sky but rather a folk creature.
We have confirmed existence of several species of birds, mantas of varies sizes and types, mantatees, several species of fish (including koi and sailfish), some kind of eel (judging by its ghostly appearance I’m guessing that thing is locally extinct at the least), dark dragons of various sizes, oysters, the leviathan of the abyss, crabs, moths, sea turtles, whales, and jellyfish.
I might be missing one or two
it's not quite proven that they're extinct
they may just have fled into quiet niches far away, like that rare bird we're asked to photograph in the seasons of memory quest
or, in other words, they may not show up in Sky unless there's a gameplay reason for it, because making these animals - especially land-based mammal-esque animals, rather than flighty birds - part of the game requires more work than just coming up with a design
that’s true
I also did not include the penguin in the performance area because I think that it’s an unserious Easter egg. But you might consider it canon. It’s all up to interpretation anyway.
OH! AND OYSTERS!
what we see so far are mostly animals that fit the flying and flowing movement of Sky, with freedom to move into any direction
birds, and fish, and any creatures that can reasonably swim through water or air
they at times offer interaction with skykids - carrying them, or fueling their light, and they fit the aesthetic
the symbol teaser for the upcoming season being a deer might indicate this may change... obviously season of passage and the like already implied there must have been other mammal-like animals in the kingdom, but maybe with the next season we get a glimpse of what these animals were actually like
Do you think the Season of Passage confirms the “owls”
as a species that exist outside the trial of fire, or is it just magic? Tho there is no solid answer to this. Also I have not completed the Season of Passage quests. 🙁
I haven't done the final passage quest yet, so I don't know actually
but imo, no
if you're talking about the forest quest, those actually seem to imply crabs - at the very least, we can see a similar scene in one of the Two Embers teasers and there, it is crabs
buuut I believe the shadows in the fire trial might be illusions based on such moments. taking some some scary imagery, and the fears of younglings, and put them into a form they have to face in the trial.
after all, haven't we all been spooked about things in the dark we can't quite make out?
some images for this, from the animation project teaser, vs glowing eyes in the second passage quest
also, coincidentially, one of the few places where we can actually find crabs ingame, outside of the wasteland and parts of eden (and sanctuary)
Tree crabs?
nowhere is safe
honestly, with how I sometimes see one of the crabs inside the forest temple scale the wall (even if that may be a glitch) I can easily image they can climb trees
Yeah, I’ve seen them scale vertical walls in the wasteland too
Do you think those starry kinda ghost mantas could be the remnants of the extinct mantas?
The astral manta call's spirit is called memory whisperer. So there is that. though most of the astral mantas we see are shaped like the living ones we have, except for the multi winged ones, who appear in the abyss and prophecy murals.
Anyone knows anything about Season of Passage's lore?
My theory is its just like our schools but in this Kingdom, Sky Kids do not learn maths or English but more elemental basics of cooperation via a few trials, and once they achieved every lessons they are free to move freely in every realms, like a passage from childhood to adulthood. Correct me if my theory is wrong please, I'm super interested by your theories
Guys quick question, what is the purpose of the current season? The season of revival?
It's just an old and forgotten village we are rebuilding, but my personal guess is it's also like a new capital of the Kingdom since the old one, Eden's Castle is completely lost
I mean, that's where we could see some of the spirit guides from some past seasons. Like the Dreams Guide, Moments Guide, etc.
Does it mean like the season just picked some spirit guides to help other skids to accomplish? Even if the items that were on sale there aren't coming back?
Then why didn't they just summon all the spirit guides back?
It's maybe a little bit too early to ask, like TGC confirmed they weren't done with Aviary village, they will expand it over the year, maybe years, so eventually past cosmetics will return and be obtainable by these spirit guides
Edit: Some shops aren't finished yet, like the one above the hair salon and the prop shop, maybe more if not all previous spirit guides will return in the future
Then they'd just add more quests to the Hopeful Steward, right?
I think so yeah!
I'm really confused about this weird sea of clouds behind Eden's gate, it's too wide and empty I'm pretty sure TGC will add a lot of stuff there like tiny shop islands featuring other guides, or even activities idk
Maybe it's because they're portraying the scene as a devastating land because of the massive explosion that happened. I mean, it sure did literally wipe everything to dust.
A massive explosion?? I think I've missed that part of Revival's lore
Wait no, I'm just connecting the past of Eden, sorry.
So... I just did the latest Aviary Quest, and I think there's probably a lot of other people, too wondering what the honk Harmony Hall is doing just smack right there in the middle of the Aviary Village. I've talked before about spacetime, and lightspeed, and infinite distances, and relativity; and I just thought it felt like a good time to say, you know... If the shoe fits.
If it quacks like a duck,
it must be Photon-Based, lmlo
magic
you question the harmony hall, as if our skykids don't step through magical portals teleporting us to far-away realms on a daily basis
no but that's the thing, its not a portal, its just a normal doorway. what i dislike it it feels disengenuine to the established forms of long-distance teleportation in sky. if it led us to a room that contained a portal to harmony hall, that would fit fine. But I don't think these doorways being a rip through space, without any indication of being a portal, makes sense
I was watching one of the ending cutscenes with the Season of Lightseekers and Season of Ikea Assembly and I still love the fact that the assembly kids are canonically descendants of the Lightseekers
I would absolutely love to have an event where the two seasons meet and interact with each other 🥺
when we go through eden, did the aviary spirits become rebirth and become physical people? because i think it's a bit odd that the spirits are able to build shops and such when they're dead
I think they are still, in fact, pretty dead!
Think of it as... their spirits being there like a ghost would haunt a house. They're just there living their afterlife life among us. I like to believe that by going through Eden (thus helping them ascend) we are guiding them closer to closure, accepting that they are dead and moving on to the next stage in the cycle? And so Aviary would be like "the good place"
if they're still dead then how do they move physical objects and make stores as a spirit? they wouldn't be able to do that if they're dead, right?
They are poltergeist!
they're definitely dead. objects that spirits interact with tend to be made of the same matter as them (i.e. that ghostly blueish white texture)
for physical things that the spirits shouldn't be able to interact with.... you could maybe imagine other skykids doing favors for the spirits. like, enchantment guide even asks our skykids to help with the crates of firework, despite... standing right there.
Cool detail - King symbolism on the pins in the Aviary cape shop
yo yo
the cosmic mantas in vault are memory projections, right?
You know the giant one we see on floor like 5 or whatever?
What if it's projected from the memory of this manta we see in the treasure reef murals? I think, due to the style of how it's drawn, there wasn't originally anything dark or dangerous kept in containment, but rather an extroidinarily large manta, that later corrupted into the 'king krill'/'leviathan'
The sizes don't quite match up, but we know Vault scholars were doing this research, I think one of them could have easily return to Vault with the memory of mantas of large proportion
is that really king symbolism? and not just a four point star shape as we find it in other places? (constellations, points of interest markers when you honk, like the next spirit memory, etc)
the king symbolism seems to be more of an 8-point star
tho, that floor of vault represents wasteland, so it could represent any sort of light creature like that who fought in the war, those memories could have also made it easily to vault
Maybe it’s just Light symbolism
yeah that's what I'm thinking
just a cute star
ig aviary doesnt abide by the laws of physics
I mean
Portal gates already exist in this game
You can go trough a funky stone arch and magic you're at somewhere else now
So having a house that connects directly to the village of dreams doesn't surprise me
Question… are the Elders dead when we find them? Is it their souls that we are helping?
Pretty much, we light the candles at their graves to meet with them
The skids, Light and Dark creatures are the only living beings left in the Sky world
So this is something I noticed 3 minutes ago while doing tasks.
- When this shrine were unlit, the bell was dark.
- Once all the darkness was cleared and the candles lit, it turned gold and started spining
Obviacely we see bells that are still gold even when not lit and active, and Im preaty shure this didint happen a few months ago (I think🤔 )
Further testing required
what about season guides, spirits in aviary, in music hall etc? Are they too souls only?
I thought more that Sky was never a fully physical world so we restore them to their normal state
They are all spirits
Like @dreamy wave said, the spirits are all dead, while today's skykids, light creatures and dark creatures are alive ( by the createria of life and death in the sky world😅)
There's a reason why the we have seperate terms for spirits and ancesters
Maybe the monster was killed? And due to it being a ferocious creature, its memory had to be placed inside the vault and serve as a servant, which is the holder of those things that we need to light on its back.
It's impossible for it to haunt, since it can be a light creature in the past.
Yeah, and picking up from the legend back at the cave(not in the cave of prophecies), we can see that in the fourth mural, it is mentioned that those spirits were trapped in the seven realms. They're just present there because they had trouble ascending back to the stars. It could be that it's because of what happened to Eye of Eden in the past, which I could assume that there's a massive explosion on where the red crystal is now, wiping out the existence of those who lived in the past.
Actually, no its not😅
It likely a similar creature to the Laviathan, but its deffinetly not the same one
One thing to remember about the spirit mantas is that there not purely projections. We see how a spirit manta is summaned more directly on the 4th flore, where lighting candles and calling out to a sceleton of manta temporeraly summans a spirit manta
Part of the soul and memory of light creatures seames to be inprinted in the creatures bones ( which are only left behind after an unatural death) which is why you have all those giant bones on the 5th flore in the first place
I guess so... Wait, I think I just got something.
'Member that giant es creature after gathering all the spirits in the season of sanctuary? That kinda reminds me of it. 'Cause back at the theory of Valley vs Golden/Eden war, we talked about if the krill were mantas that were corrupted, due to their light being drained from them just for the usage of darkstone. I wonder if this 'leviathan' could be that memory creature back at the vault. Which could be that this 'leviathan' was a light creature.
If I were to guess what this creature was in life, I would say a typ of manta we havent seen as of yet, one thats in between the 6 winded mantas and elder mantas
YEAH THAT, THE BOTTOM ONE! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING 'BOUT!
Shoot, I didnt finish writing it before you did🤣
But yes, thats exactly my thought too☺️
You can edit the message though!
Its all good, np budy☺️
Yeah, your preaty acurate on that asumption.☺️
Even got the evidence to prove it
I assumed that because of the newfound technology of darkstone usage, they went in a complete overboard in Eye of Eden. They decided to use a huge amount of darkstone power for something like a huge project/experiment. Then it just flopped. And leads up back to my assumption on Eden's past by my message about the spirits.
We dont 100% know how the cycle of life and death works for ancesters in the new canon, but as far as the spirits and aviary goes, I always had this thought that the actions we take in healing the earth, helping the spirits with there unfinished buisness and so on, that all of this alowes them to take a more permanent presence in the world of sky.
Your quite right about that too☺️
And as if we would be recreating the whole world of sky, except that it would also start in the new era where we attempt to calm the wave and bring it back to the equilibrium. Learning from our ancestors' mistakes, especially that accident on the Eye of Eden(that I'm not sure if it's really an accident or on purpose), and exploring more of the world and making the world of sky a better place(and might as well get introduced or introduce ourselves to new spirits).
Hm, really connects to the human desires of achieving a comfortable life AND the human nature of learning from our and our ancestors' mistakes.
@copper folio got another one right lady's and gentleman☺️
Although I do think the Eye of Edan thing is mostly an accident (or more accuratly a case of them creating something they belived they had full mastery and controle over, but being proven wrong in the end😅 )
But when where did it go and when did the leviathan appear, do you think? It wasn’t one of the creatures to come out of the mouth at the end of abyss quests
This is where us not knowing the true nature and origin of krill is a big problem, with vareous different theory's on the subject
In my theory, you need a few things to create Krill
- The bones of light creatures (that are only left behind as a result of unatural death)
- Corupted light , eather in the form of poluted water and other waists, or as light energy that was lost as a result of sudden death (think the waist in waistland, and the many slayed dureing the war and the manta draining)
- Overwhelming engative emotions (dispear, fear, hate...)
Put them all tothers close to each other, you you got yourself a krill
That's where I'm in a pickle. But it could be that it's actually on purpose, because they've been using the technology of darkstones ever since its discovery. If so, then it could be that they're trying to make a bridge that connects between the home of Starlight and the world of sky, for spiritual ascension to be much more easier and convenient.
But since it's darkstone, which obviously has darkness in it, and that starlight is... Well, a light figure, it is obvious that light and dark, despite needing each other, are complete and clashing opposites. What happens after is that the magic of both elements could be that they're clashing. Therefore it may be the cause of that mass destruction of the past inhabitants in the world of sky. With the people who managed to survive until their last breath made the graves for the ancestors in each realm.
Oooh, i like that. My theory (which isnt really based on any canon game stuff, mostly just explanatory world building for a dungeons and dragons game I’m going to run set in sky) is that immense amounts of light will just create equal amounts of dark, hence the creature there, eventually forced to consume surrounding light creatures to survive, threw off its own balance and turned dark
Hence how Eden crystal took in such an over abundance of light that it exploded, shattering dark crystals everywhere and krill
In the case of abyss, that place was something of a next generation facility that refined darkstone and prodiced crystals on a scale far beyond any other factory, which would also include draining tones and tones of mantas.
Plus, this place was originaly an island (I think🤔) They dont got milles and miles of land to dump all there trash in. So they probably had one massive sailo that was stuffed with all those bones and poluted water. This is my headcanon for how the Laviathan was created. The mass that would have given birth to dozens of krill insted give rise to one giant monstrosaty
But the light creatures wouldn't do that. Light creatures, being light creatures, extinguish the darkness internally in them(I guess). But outside factors that can be a result of their transformation --- the light drainage and stuff --- made the surrounding darkness claim its host and make the creature as twisted as it is, therefore making them into a krill.
But I'd assume it's only for mantas. Fun fact, when I was a moth I kept calling the mantas by the name of the creature they were based on. Manta Rays.
thats probably not exactly what happeden, but preaty darn close all things considered☺️
Yeah I know it’s prob not canon or anything, I just needed an explanation to make an rpg fantasy setting set there work, and without any canon explanation, I just made up a convenient one to use haha
That could be. But it could also be that the leviathan lived long before our sky ancestors lived. They might have picked a spot in the ocean on the treasure reef to dump those bones and polluted water that you mentioned. Little did they know that the grave of the past version of the leviathan(either a light or dark creature before) had been summoned back because of those wastes, which may have some light essence in that pile. And with regards to how light creatures live, light gives them life. And with that remaining light essence that wasn't stripped out of the pile of manta bones, it got mixed with the polluted water, making it into darkness that revived and summoned the leviathan from its eternal slumber.
Its also inportant to note that (at least going by more recent but still old concept art), dark creatures do have light within them
The difference is that dark creatures kinds work like black holes, always consuming, never satesfied, never giveing back anything
Light burnes away the dark mass that forms the body's of darkness, but once the creature conqueres and consumes the light, it becomes corupred and new fule for the darkness
Ooooh true I may tweak my worldbuilding for my setting based on that, actually, I had forgotten that detail
The general vibes of your world building are preaty acurate to how light and darkness in sky work
Just needs a few tweeks is all☺️
Oooooh, thats an interesting way of looking at things☺️
It would give the Laviathan big Godzilla vibes with that backstory🤣
Also, I keep wanting to post this, but get distracted a lot😅
I tried to photograph Edan from the top of the Colloseum ( the clossest possible point to do that before the cloud cover starts)
And I noticed something interesting
Oh? That's like the outside of the path when dying in Eden and ascending from there to the orbit. And the lightning, it's just like another normal day in the current Eye of Eden.
The bottom part thats obscured by the clouds in the city we travel through in orbit, while the top part in the castle proper thats floating in the air anove it all.
This matches what we see in orbit with where the storm and clouds ends
Its amazing how this was visible to us from the ground this entire time, and none of us noticed😅
Yeah, but I think they wouldn't bother noticing it, due to which it's kind of hidden in plain sight. Plus, it depends if they're more of an explorer than just one that sticks to the drill of whatever goes next, we go.
I do think other season guides will appear, but the problem is there’s only so many homes.
I’d like to imagine Hopeful Steward making sure everyone in the village has a stable job
no Assembly squatters here
Rhythm is a hairdresser, Enchantment is a powerful magician, Dreams is a community leader of a well-off village, and Moments is a naturalist and inventor
Lorewise, I’d like to imagine they rebuilt the Harmony Hall in aviary
I don’t think they do. Skykids probably help them around with stuff
Most of the time, yes
Though not in all cases.
First thing that comes to mind is one of the spirit guides phisicly fixing the cristal on the chair.
So perhaps in Aviary the spirits can manifest to such an extent that they can phisicly interact with the world.
Maybe the darkstone allows them to interact with certain objects that have the refined darkstone attached to it.
There are other possible examples that dont involve darkstone. This is just the most explicit example.
I like to think its more spiritual in nature, part of the whole proces of healing the world, and possibly the stuweed and the aviary makeing it more inviting for spirits to manefest themselfs
My idea is that the spirits only have a limited amount of interaction with the physical world. They’re still extremely limited compared to the Skykids
Oh, speaking of spirit- do they have psychic ability too? Like telekinesis and such- we see some spirit in the vault able to float stuff and themselves
Well- by some, I mean two- but ye, and would that mean our sky kid is capable with telekinesis too?
Well they are, look at the 4-player door in Vault
Time to control Krill with Telekinesis
The shrimpy puppies shall obey my command!
However, I would like to see what their limit is- like we know they can levitate themselves, so anything heavy or equivalent to their weight is easy for them.
Tho seeing the 4 doors..- never mind maybe they aren't that strong and their limitation is one object only. Sigh, it would be cool tho if they could do more or such- not like insane stuff but simple yet impressive
They could probably manipulate their own gravity, but they would be too polite to levitate another skykid
are we alone or all the skykids we meet in the game are actually living with us in the canon?
Very likely the second, because some things can’t be activated by one person
Sky isn’t Journey, the multiplayer aspect is very much part of the lore
i understand
then we are not alone
its a little comforting to know that we actually exist with other skykids
I'd argue Journey is also about the connection, given that game explicitly tells you who you travelled with along the way, though the actual aim of each game is different. (With Journey, the goal is very much the forward progress you make, and the help and trouble you get along the way, where as Sky gives you more tools for social communication, and is more about the transient and permanent connections you make with others.)
The murals in the Tower end scene change based on if you did an area solo or with a partner too, in Journey.
There's also the False Partner in the first area, who runs ahead before you reach them, and then Broken Bridge activates matchmaking.
But this is the Sky lore channel, not the Journey lore channel, so I'll stop the comments there.
I've got three big reasons this can't be the case.
The first is that you can go through the other exit and be all the way at the Village Theater in just a few steps...
Secondly is that every minute detail is exactly identical. Every box, bench, crack in the wall, and grain of sand on the floor. Impossible...
Third, that you can change things in one Harmony Hall; then travel to the other (the long way around) and see they've changed there too. Sure, there's not actually a whole lot that doesn't revert when you exit; anyway, but you can at least leave a shared memory. It's not like you can do the Music Sheet Challenge twice, either.
Absolutely together in canon.
The main dispute against this would be the fact that we ALL must complete Seasonal Quests, and awaken the Elders (etc.) individually, and independently on our own screens.
I think the reason for this comes down to absolution. We all must do it. We are all a part of something bigger, and every single piece must be cohesive. The decision to make things right must be unanimous, and we will repeat the steps necessary to set the record straight for all of space and time. As many times as must be, as many times as we can. All of us in infinite possibility. As long as it takes, whatever it takes. We are here to make things right.
Sorry if I got carried away there, it's all very symbolic and inspirational to me!
Oml I just wrote a heartbreaking scene depicting the King's final words before it™️ happened...
||"No! Don't do it, you can't! It'll never be enough!"
"Never? Fine, we'll see. I'll see your 'never', and raise you 'forever'. If it takes me forever, I'll do it."
I Love You
||
I'm sorry again, it just happened in my mind 😭
It's one very specific, but somehow also vague interpretation of the backstory, so take it or leave it, obviously. It just plays out well in my head, and felt relevant enough to be worth sharing.
You should be a Sky fanfic writer
Oh so that floating castle isn't a result of the cataclysm
Is the opening scene when entering the isles of dawn a flashback or just a vision of the present day?
A vision of the present day. Because what era we're all skids are in is the era where we must return the light of the fallen.
Besides the slightly anti industrial(or atleast how I interpreted it) message behind it. Why do you guys think that eden and golden wasteland are the only places that prominently feature pipes?
Forest too
Because golden wasteland was likely the industrial center
Isle and Prairie seem fairly untouched and unmarred by civilization - barely any structures in isle, and just some simple houses and boats as means of transport in prairie
forest has some more structures, but those seem largely houses and temples - aside from the area around the temple, which was an area of resource gathering (tree chopping and mining) and not production
valley of triumph is a residential area, and one full of prestige. the center of arts and sports. aside from jobs being largely in the performance sectors (as far as we can see), people wouldn't want to see their city marred with pipes
And forest was a darkstone factory (Abyss also might have been, maybe a mine)
the forest temple was a factory, but likely a sort of prototype. the only one in the area. and that required not having a complex infrastructure like pipes. or maybe the layout of the terrain and density of trees didn't allow for a sprawling pipe infrastructure, so that's why future darkstone factories were built in a place with more space
The area by grandma's did imply a large darkstone mine as shown in Mindful Miner's story and Aurora's concert.
Then the origin of discovery was in Daylight Prairie from Season of Moments
Yeah, but mines are not factories
mines are where you source the resources, to then transport them to wherever production is happening
That's true. That would make the temple and Golden Wasteland as the factory yah?
Golden Wasteland is higher candidate due to the background buildings at Golden Wasteland's Broken Temple
What are krills exactly
corrupted
So Like are they the dead corpses of light fauna
we don't know
Well that’s unfortunate but it will most likely be answered in a future season probably around the fall season
Based on speculation and the murals of sunken research facility Treasure Reef, krills seem to be manufactured in the attempts of getting more light our of them.
Then they broke out and were chilling at the sea.
Upon the cataclysm of Eden, based on Season of Shattering memories, it seems that was the time Krills took it upon themselves to strike.
2 Eden mountain?.. And coliseum shadow?
I don't see why Krills were intelligent creatures, though.
That silhouette still gives me the shivers
wth is that??
A possible leftover from a preveous version of the game, where the laviathan was free from the start and was the couse for shipwrecking the abyss crew
As of yet that thing is inposible to get to. Im not quite curtain if its even an actual model.
Still, it regardless of what it is, its there, and it sparks the fear and imagination of loreheads and storybuffs☺️
Personally i like imagining that Leviathans are a species
We would be really
😱😱😱😱 if there were a lot more of those things swimming freely in the open sea😅
That's true... Then again there's that king krill in the abyss...
Maybe they're acting on instinct? Like normal animals would.
Reminder that "king krill" is a fan-made name
We don't know for sure if krill follow a hierarchy
Or if that thing is even related to krill beyond the fact that they're dark creatures
That's true too...
You're right! I didn't think about that!
Then would the giant crystal in Eden acted as a huge lure?
I don't think so. The large crystal at eden existed because it could be that the first inhabitants of sky world went override with the usage of darkstone. I have a message regarding that, but I'll pin it later. But the crystal existed right before the krills do, in which the two events happened right next to each other.
Another thing is didnt the people come from somewhere else? In the Aurora concert we see what the isle of dawn looked like before. However, weren't the people traveling from somewhere?
I feel like they were migrating
The main reason why some people refer to it as King Krill is because of the scene where Krill and that behemoth come out of the door like "Well, hello there!"
Doesn't it have an official name? Thousand eyes beast?
I call it king krill because it's huge and it ate me
Tbh valid xD it be chomping while Krill shrimp puppies be booping
Another equally accurate name would be krillzilla🤣
Tbh the eyes of King Krill or Krillzilla or the beast who chomps thy light- the eyes reminds me of this fella
I mean technicly speaking the same goes for crabs😅
The beast just has a lot bigger and more numerous eyes
Fair enough xD
The whole multy eye thing kinda reminds me of the Ohmu from Nausicaa
Tho ngl, the beast does look like Axolotl @-@ with a big mouth
Hmmm....you know, i can kiiiiinda see it if I squint my eyes just right
xDD he just wants some worms aka Sky Kids and creature of lights
Also tbh I didn't get to see the beast properly due to having a potato phone
Ok, so the new update for this creatures names (in decenting order from most to least acurate) would be...
- Abyss monster
- 1000 eye beast
- Many-Eyed Monster
- Laviathan
- Krill king
- Megalodon
- Krillzilla
- Krillxolotl
Hehe xDD
Leviathan Krill sounds cool
This post is kinda a joke, but I do think its interesting to think that a creature this massive and distructive, yet simultaniusly this mystereous and reclusive (most would only know it by its effects on the world or distant quick glimpses) would have many different names
Its kinda like how the monster in Khazad doom in Lord of the rings had multiple names
- The Sadow over Moria
- Durins Bane
- Valaraukar
- The Ballrog
I mean it makes sense! And show how powerful and frightful a beast is if it has more than one name
And how mystereous as well
Yes yes uwu tbh it goes both for evil/good beings and how people portray it
Now that look similar to this! Cute and spiky krillxolotl
Well of course
The same thing goes for this too
Mega birb?
- The Light
- Megabird
- Edan Bird
- The Light Phenix
Althouh with this one "The Light' and "Megabird" is what 90% of people call this thing
Mhmm
Where do you find that???
Its from the wiki
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Abyss_Monster
I am still kicking myself for not properly photographing this thing before I finished the season😭😭😭
Ngl the should let us re-live the event we have been through- CUZ HOW AM I supposed TO KNOW THAT THING WOULD SWALLOW ME

I only have memories and stuff I see on videos, but its not the same as properly documenting this fascinating speciment
Like imagine! Omg.. Cool! Lemme just- gets eaten
I think that was kinda the point🤣
This thing wouldent be so awsome and terrafaing otherwise
I want cool pics qwq
Also, it happens too fasttt- oh welp, it does give me the chilling experience- but tbh the chilling experience is seeing the Krill in the water and almost capturing me.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE-"
I don't know if it has an official name
I'm almost certain it doesn't have an in-game name though
Well thats kinda the thing
I might be compleatly wrong about this (it has been a long time since the season of abyss) but I seam to remember that when I first opened the dore that lead to the inside of the sunkan city in the 4th quest, and I entered the area with the big glass that let you see the monster for the first time, it said something like "The chamber of the 1000 eyed beast"....or something of that manner
Hmmmmm
Maybe my memory is bad
i need to get around to doing that quest myself i think
this could very well be a case of my memory playing tricks on my, but I could remember it so vividly
WAIT, YOU HAVENT DONE THE ABYSS QUESTS YET👀👀👀👀👀!!!!!
I'm a teeny tiny moff
1 month old
Oh wow, then this whole thing has been mega spoilers for you😅
I looked at the spoilers myself on purpose because me curious
This is far from my first convo about the leviathan
Oh, well thats alright then☺️
I have a whole lot of pictures from that place (like I think 150 total) but images of the quest areas from before the quests were sone is something Im sevearly lacking
I would be very greatfull if you can go full natural georgaphic mode when you go to those areas for the first time😅
If i didn't need to prepare a german exam
I'd go do the quests right now go see if there's dialogue on the beast
Oh no no no, Im not talking about now
Im more talking about when you eventually get free time☺️
Does the area change a lot between quests?
You could tell me which specific spots you find lacking in your collection so i know what to look for
The 2 Eden mountains are a bug
In my opinion, they were either from Wasteland or Home, both of which flooded.
That’s why they’re both so abandoned
In the shipwreck area (not the ark- the one that has the crab whisperer) has two factories and one broken temple.
Now I wonder how big Golden Wasteland is. It must have been a big land!
I feel like a lot of it could've used to be sea
Given how the lost ark and shipwreck are currently on the sand
And also the remaining water puddles scattered around everywhere
Undah da sea, where da krill swim,
Will haunt moths, no matter what, undah da sea
And I can see that
Are there any theories of why this bird is here in valley?
#screenshots-and-videos message
(Just curious if it's been mentioned before)
Maybe it's just a statue, a symbol of the Citadel's top entertaining competition (flight)
Someone said it is a remnant of a beta quest (like the golden jug in the vault) where you would obtain the bird call voice through it. The quest was taken out of the game but the bird’s model remains. As it is, there is no explanation given for it, so you can come up with your own.
This is my theory of it
Could anyone recommend me theories and lore bits on where to start learning the Sky lore and stuff? Like the basics?
I'm always too intimidated by it to ask but I really wish I knew where to begin
The easiest way to start is this document:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
Then, you can read pins for general inspiration, and ask questions here for more specific stuff
i couldnt say if it was the best place to start but i see people pop in here the most usually wondering about Eden, and Wasteland, how it got to that point, etc, or stuff about the Darkstone crystals which you see just about everywhere across the whole game
Are there any theories about the sky kid you help up and hug in Eden after the rocks turn you into a pancake? :U
Are we talking about the shiny skykid we hug before we go to Orbit?
- The shiny skykid is the king (Resh/Eden King) and he is literally in purgatory and reflecting on his past mistakes as he feels shame and guilt on his mistakes
- The shiny skykid is just you. It is another part of you that you must embrace (a balance of light and darkness) and as you embrace that part of you is when you will be able to rise up and continue your progress. Self-acceptance with the reward of continuing your progress in becoming the best. We all have flaws, but we mustn't let those flaws prevent us in becoming the best version of ourselves
Both statements are based on posts I've seen on the internet regarding the shiny skykid you hug before you go to Eden. Some have my interpretation while I keep the originality of both statements from the original authors
Yes I was!! Thank you so much; I want to attempt doing an amv to Florence + the Machine’s Cosmic Love about the shiny skykid, but I was fuzzy on what the theories were and wanted a refresher
Thanks again!!
I personally just think the light skykid is just your "soul" and the dark one you control is your vessel or body more or less
So like, you picking up the wl is you trying to fill yourself with others’ souls but only by giving those souls back to their rightful owners (statues in eden)/getting pulverized by rocks lets you meet your real self and achieve completion?
Yeah basically. I've always believed that the WLs you pick up throughout are more or less remnant from long gone skykids rather than something put out there specifically for you to find and take
I wonder what symbolism you might take from that scene in eden, and the winged light which is atop the eden crystal in the shattering memory. is that the only spot in the game its two?
QwQ they just wanna go home!!!
I will say that I have a head canon that the wl actually switch places with each other every time you run eden so they’re not stuck in the same place forever XD
For wl, yes!! They’re also the only wl not in Eden that aren’t looking up into the sky. There are statues in Eden that are two skykids together (but only take one wl which I always thought was kinda weird lol)
I do think it’s interesting that the wl have the giant star icon hovering above them (
) while in Eden once you hug you get the light beam
i'm not sure what to think of that symbol either exactly, but i thought it was neat a friend of mine compared it to like a nail or stone chisel, like it was the thing hammered into the eden crystal to split/shatter it by the elders, heh.
I'm not sure if those winged light would be literally there, or maybe represent something, since they are a memory and we can collect them
( im not sure what exactly the deal is with us meditating and getting winged light from a memory but its interesting! )
Hello, I'm a player since Light Awaits and I always wondered why is Golden Wasteland green?
I know it's a weird question but since it fell into darkness why isn't it red like Eden or during Shard Events? Do you have any idea why?
It also has a faint glow that you can see from underwater. I use the whole thing as a crack-pot tie-in to Legend of Zelda by saying it's what remains of Great Bay Temple from Majora's Mask.
This is just some question that i think of i just wanted to ask, what is the origin of the krill or dark dragon?
My interpretation of this is that the Golden Wasteland used to be Yellow, i.e. Golden. It was then corrupted by toxic blue light.
Which sounds a little confusing, but it goes back to something someone else said in here, so I may not be explaining it properly... It goes something like this:
Dark Plants (and to a lesser extent; low-level shards) glow with a faint blue light which is Docile, and cannot hurt us as it is. Representative of the Light they have absorbed, or captured, or contained (note butterflies escaping when you melt them) because their biology is saturated with the dense atomic supermatter we call Darkstone. Contrarily; Red Shard and such glow red after they have absorbed so much excess Light that they have become unstable. Heat and Pressure and Density and Photons fluctuate wildly, and it exerts a sort of 'gravitational' force on any Light that touches it. Whereby Darkness 'spreads' by absorbing all the Light around it.
Krill, particularly; show a practical manipulation of this functionality, which we see when their Spotlight changes color.
The suggestion it leads to for Golden Wasteland is that the air is thickly polluted with Docile Darkstone Particles. Saturated with the Waste Byproduct of the Factories there, gone totally out of hand and unregulated. True to form, some areas along the Edges of the Wasteland still appear yellowish, where the pollution hasn't reached yet. Easy example you can look at is the Entrance/Lobby/Hub room with the Vortex, above the Heavy Cloud Layer.
Again, this isn't necessarily my theory, so parts of it may be stretched or skipped. I can't really remember who said it, but I think it does a good job answering your question.
I'm literally stunned by how professional and plausible this theory is, it makes so much sense honestly :0
It's really possible that this weird green atmosphere is pollution, since when we opened that one paths in Wind Paths that green fog spread across the Wind Paths, kinda like a virus or just pollution.. and since Treasure Reef looks pretty distant from the rest of Wasteland it might be the reason why it doesn't seem polluted.. geez thank you for explaining that I swear that was one of the questions I was thinking about since Light Awaits now haha
Unknown, we just know they're a corrupted creature of some kind iirc
So everyone can make their own theory
You're very welcome, Friend, and thank you for the compliment. I love to share, and I'm so thrilled that I was able to help someone who's been playing so much longer than I have!
I love this- I'm very new to the lore so idk what's known much or not etc, so i might be talking rubbish lmao i just wanted to join in :,), but I think you can kinda see this pollution happening in the Aurora concert.
In The Seed when you fly across the wasteland there's blue light crashing down from the sky and I think the area looks slightly yellow ish before the lights crashing down
I think that Golden Wasteland is one of the lore-heavy realms due to how much story it tells. Here's my interpretation and theory. This is just fanmade and stuff
Golden Wasteland wasn't Golden Wasteland. That name was given to the name after the war and when the realm faced pollution that completely changed the realm. Golden Wasteland had another name.
When I was looking around the Sky wiki, I read that one of the old names of Golden Wasteland was Shores of Manna and I decided to think that Shores of Manna was the name of Wasteland before the war and Tragedy (which is what I call what killed the entire civilization) happened. I think that Wasteland was a hub of agriculture for the entire world and it helped Valley of Triumph with its resources because it's difficult to grow resources in snow. I still believe that Valley of Triumph was able to grow their own resources. They just need help in gaining some.
According to the Bible, manna is the food that miraculously was given to the Israelites during their exodus. Which is why I think Shores of Manna is considered as the hub of agriculture.
So, Shores of Manna is like a really important realm since it carries a lot of resources. When the dark stone production, war, and Tragedy happened, this caused Shores of Manna to lose its agriculture and the pollution wasn't helping the environment. In terms of telling a story, green is also associated with evil, disgust, etc. Golden Wasteland tells the story of a polluted realm that was abused by dark stone production. War came along and this caused the realm to experience more pollution and damage (it's war.) Darkness was rampant in the realm and that wasn't helping
Shores of Manna was probably golden due to how vibrant agriculture was back then, but when the Tragedy happened, that's when it started to lose its gold.
I think the reason why the realm is called Golden Wasteland is because it's now a wasteland that once held "gold"
In terms of why GW isn't red like Eden, I think it's a way to tell a story? Colors are used to tell a story. Red is associated with warning and chaos, while green is associated with disgust and evil. I think it's in the terms of atmosphere.
Golden Wasteland is like the first place where you know something is wrong and Sky does have chaotic and tragic content. It's like the first step to knowing that. To let the fact that something did happen slowly sink in the player's brain.
Eden is red because that's the warning of them all.
green is associated with disgust and evil
Green is my favorite color, and is also associated with life and clean energy. Not that I'm really disputing anything you said, I just think it's worth noting.
Also worth noting Red is associated with Love and Passion, so take it all with a grain of salt, ig???
I am aware that green and red also carry good meanings. Even red is one of my favorite colors
Both colors carry positive and negative meanings when telling a story. In terms of the positive, red is present in Valley of Triumph to show the passion and dedication to one's talent and Prairie is not a stranger to the color green
I also noted that the atmosphere also plays a part when using colors in a story. Eden is red and is in ruins which can tell that something is wrong while Valley's color palette consists of red to show passion and dedication to one's talent and the atmosphere of Valley is filled with triumph and happiness
It's a matter of using the atmosphere and colors to tell a story. I think Shores of Manna also had greenery because it's the hub of agriculture (that's what I think.)
Is this the serow mask or the prophecy guide mask? I can't take a taller picture of it and the raining is draining my WL
It's in hidden forest front temple door? Gate? Not sure- what to call
And if it's not a mask from Prophecy or serow mask- then what is it?
That mask is an easter egg to an older version of the Forest elder.
The elders were in early concept designs more animalistic. The forest elders was based on a animal I think is a lynx or kitsune (fox).
Here are images of the Forest elder (Teth) with the mask in question.
For those who are wondering where the mask is in the game currently.
It is right above the doorway into the forest temple.
Ooh! I prefer that makes then the one they have and that makes me like the hidden forest elder more.. for being ho- I mean, cool even tho she is a bit meanie
I'd recommend looking at the "7 days of Sky" series.
I believe the wiki page is easier to read through (along with the images), although if you like to see the source, it is a facebook post.
Feel free to look them up online. 🙂
If you need help, feel free to ask about it (I can get the link, however would love to see people do the research themselves while still able to get guidance along the way)
Okay, thank you!~
I think this is the death of the King, right here.
Right above this, we can see a star-shaped body falling into the Void of Shattering, being destroyed however. If the king is a Skykid, then this can be just another example of a Skykid reviving themselves, except it goes wrong here. I’m betting that a scene like this will appear in the Two Embers
Ngl I do wish they revisit this and make it into a season like "The Season of Beast" where each realm has a beast that roams and it can give more lore too! And we can see the biggest whale, the elder manta! Or the one in the Season of Abyss
Twizzler monster drawing-
I mean it doesn't need to be a direct reference to the old concept art but still would work!
Me imagining the elders become corrupted and turning into beasts of each realm.
Where skykids are locked out of Eden and have to save the elders in order to restore the realms.
Almost like Shadow of Colosus scale boss battles. Except you have to learn what can be done to help the elders and the ancestor spirits help the skykids trap or capture their respective corrupted elders and restore them in some way.
Ooh like steven universe when the gems got corrupted? Not the crystal gems- but you get my point
Oh my word, yes!
The game has been pacifistic so far. Therefore I take that TGC wants to stick that route when dealing with corruption.
So far we have seen corrupted creatures, but not ancestors/elders (that we recognise as such at least).
I recall in researching the end of Eden with analysing the concept art, that the King was supposed to fight a massive dark creature and the skykids in the mean time are trying to reach the King to save them.
This concept has clearly changed since then. But I loved this idea of the tiny skykids trying to save colossal creatures/elders without hurting them intentionally.
I had this D&D 5e homebrew one shot even ( @sturdy onyx do not read this!)
|| Where skykids had to save a giant light elk. This was a few weeks back mind you.||
||They saved the light creature with getting to its back and destroying/cleansing the dark stone shards that were embedded in its body. Once they did that, the creature dove into a lake and disappeared. Only for it and the rest of this magnificent herd to walk unto the shore, each one was a different size ranging from about the size of real life elk to the elder that dwarved the nearby trees. The herd took off and ran up and over a cliff, taking flight into the twilight sky and disappearing like mist before the sunrise)||
Ooh! That's so cool! Man, it would be fun and really accelerating if that happens
TGC can take notes from this, I dont mind.
Yk what to do #wishlist-and-ideas-archived
However, we did get a glimpse of the new season (collab season? Idk the deer picture that is in the news)
I heard they gonna cooperate with Sky Lore on it. Just a speculation and stuff I heard
I have seen yes, and have seen the beta for it.
I am aware of what they have planned, however know better to not spoil what happens in there, lol.
This elk/deer encounter in the game was ran back in August. I know the friend I mentioned was looking forward to playing a game with deer in it for a while.
Partly because they love the animal and hoped to see them in the game in some form. Hence the way I included them in the online tabletop game.
The next season is a collab, which is going to be exciting to see when it reaches live.
Yay! Collabbbb!
also, noted
Also, the perks of being a lore character are you don't care about spoilers and you want to know why stuff happens and what THE JUICY lore is

You were warned, lol.
I'd like to find out when you like to play, lol
(obviously in dms)
I agree those who want to look into the lore and how it came to be should be fine with spoilers.
However, should also be aware of others they share with possibly looking to avoid spoilers themselves.
Therefore with this channel, the lore discussed here comes with the expectation that spoilers are going to be discussed.
What is Eden? Here ya go, no spoiler tags needed.
Who is the King? Right here, albeit a bit absent in the game, lol.
What is this or that or the other? Folks should be find discussing it.
The few things that are off limits in this public forum are hacked content, beta content, and more that the rules of the server cover (as well as on this channel that get brought up).
This channel might not be the best place to read about the lore as a whole. But it is a good place to talk about it.
Gotta keep that in mind- mainly for me
Good thing the community is wholesome (at least it should be. Gatekeeping should not be a thing.)
"To err is human", after all (meaning to make mistakes is part of being human).
Ngl I would like to see who made The Elder Mask- they must be the ones who made The Prophecy Guide the 4 element spirits (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth)
I know the Season of Passage guide is a mask-maker
And would dye also exist in the Sky universe?
I think the masks are a part of the Elder’s body
As for dyes, they probably exist, since the materials for dyes exist (flowers, leaves, etc.)
I would absolutely kill for a pre-destruction RPG featuring the ancestor spirits as playable character
Some if they got corrupted! It definitely would be the one in Steven universe.. So cool.
we have paints with different colours. The ancestors know how to make dyes
I guess since we saw many flowers that have different colors- maybe they get their dyes from that?
Some irl flowers do make a pretty dye
That would be cool,
imagine you play as a variant human and you go on adventures to become legendary ancestors (champions, or what have you's)
That would add some interesting rp beyond being
Imagine that.
A Ranger that has a manta mount.
A Warrior that can face down a whole Whale.
A Bard that can play medleys on an enchanted flute to guide birds.
A Druid Light seeker on a mission to plant as many seeds they can from a far away land they hailed from.
A Monk on a pilgrimage to drink from the Dragon Well.
A Wizard that just discovered a new form of magic, but relies on darkstone shards for power.
A Cleric on a mission to rediscover the Revivify spell to save their mentor.
So many possibilities!!!
@pure flame please keep all discussion on-topic, your message has been deleted. Thanks!
What even is the lore of sky?😭
Most of it is open ended or up to interpretation
But the main general idea is that the previous civilisation that existed built multiple beautiful kingdoms thanks to the light of this world, but then were careless with that gift and it ended up destroying everything
Now there's more darkness than ever before, with corrupted creatures and plants, entire areas destroyed, ect...
So now we are here, trying out best to help what we can thanks to our own light
Ohhh okok tysm!!
(is that a buff moff in your username)
Yes it is
You can get such roles by typing "!team_mischief" in skybot's DMs, it'll give a list of roles
Then type "i wish to be a [role name]" and you get it
Guys is resh dead
Nothing really dies forever, it just changes.
(talk about open ended, and up to interpretation, lol)
even the spirits themselves who passed away due to the shattering or whatever else, still seem very much alive in spirit and wish to live among the sky kids as they repair the world
But what is the concept of death in sky
Since it seems to be nonexistent
As the sky kid after largely implying that they died in the eye of Eden we suddenly come back to live in the home or Revival village
And the sprits we save are sent into the constellations instead of rebuilding their kingdom and where is the rest of the sky citizen’s since their would be more than we had saved currently
i think its implied that we are a whole new sky kid when we're "reborn"!
Can someone give me the breakdown on season of prophecy lore?
I guess most of them have already ascended in the past. As for the spirits, they go back to the stars because in the first mural in the cave at Isle of Dawn(not the Cave of Prophecies), it is mentioned that the first who lived were in total joy, and would one day go back to the stars.
@copper folio this implies that they were taken away from the stars by some force and the fact that they were referred to as “the first” means that their were more types of light humanoids
@maiden marten so the light kid reincarnates is what your saying but why since the other sprits return to the light and become permanent constellations
They weren't taken away from the stars. The first mural mentioned that all life were given breath by Starlight, their believed god/goddess/supreme deity. Meaning, Starlight came from the stars and gave life to the world of sky.
And for their ascension to the stars, it can be related to the second sentence of the first mural AND the whole second mural. They go back to the stars because they wanted to live with Starlight. As mentioned in the first mural. Which is why the temples are there in the first place.
Which makes me wonder... If they used the power of Starlight to connect all of the seven realms, then how did they even manage to build the temples that are sitting on clouds?
Well that makes biological sense as complex life (e.g. plants) need light to live and evolve same as Humans which need the sun for Vitamin D
Our organic material is recycled back into the cosmos
Seeing the giant pipes in GW makes me think a “the industrial revolution and its consequences” type scenario played out lol
When I did my Eden run for the week I noticed that under bits of the castle in the higher levels of the atmosphere change and now resemble the constellation that the sky kid requires to get into to Eden in the frist place
That could be the whole point of the map of GW
Good ol smog, i love eating rust
Or the whole game
It's not the whole game. But what happened there could be.
Popping in after the longest time to share an old theory doc i made about the valley twins. i want to know what you guys think of the theory, with all the evidence i collected
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HApHzTrIN-mhu7iLeYWrODLtH85DHqqAOJaJdJ-qu0Y/edit?usp=drivesdk
This is a preaty interesting headcanon☺️
Though it would make more a better AU idea then a canon theory ( which I kinda think you were mostly going for)
that's quite a different reading to it than I've ever thought to consider, but quite an interesting one id say
some scrambled thoughts on it -
On elders in general being extremely tall, it could be maybe thought that there exists magic in the world of sky that can adjust your size, which sky kids get a smaller sample of via the non permanent resizing spells/blessings that the elders could have been masters of, greatly enhancing their size to benefit their kingdom in some way.
Forest elder using a tremendously large hammer no spirit would be able to dare wield, Wasteland elder and their huge spear/shield made for defending their home, Prairie elder being large enough with the strength to move those large stone pots around with ease, maybe they even loaded the boats themselves.
Maybe the valley elders also did this, but in the interest for their performance just so the crowd might see them easier, heh.
I also like the thought about the candles in the temple room, i always found it odd they just had all those individual ones instead of larger ones
Hi! Could someone explain Megabird to me, please? I haven’t been playing that long and I’ve seen the name cropping up in the fandom a lot.
Megabird, also mentioned as the Bird of Light, is apparently a deity of Sky (as far as I believe).
There are few mentions of the Megabird in the game (not by name).
- There is a mural of the megabird in the water surrounding the portal to the Office in Vault. (here is an image of it in full. Discord may spoiler tag this image because it has the word in its name).
- When you reach Orbit, you can see a constellation (or cluster of stars) of the Megabird by looking up at the sky. This also shows up when you watch the credits upon being reborn.
There is also concept art for the megabird, which is where we have the majority of the lore for it. Take note however that the concept art was for back when the game was called Sky: Light Awaits, and being concept art, these would be seen as work in progress ideas and not finalised to the live game (seeing they may still change before release).
Aside from the Megabird, the King in Sky is also absent in the game itself, even though both are seemingly still part of its lore.
It is unclear whether we may see them in person some day, or if the devs would elaborate more about them in the future.
There are more theories about the Megabird if you like to hear about it.
Hi! Been a very fond sky lore player here and I keep seeing and I simply want to know
- from what I understand "alef"(prince) and "resh"(king) are the same person, but I keep seeing them being talked about as two COMPLETELY SEPARATE individuals and I just wanna know whether this is just a common view and has some sort of explanation..
From what i remember other skykids talking about, they are twins right?
Alright.
There is some speculation on what more the megabird could be in the lore.
Most of which are theories by users on here.
The light it gives has been described as pieces of light, stars or even motes.
You might read more about this from the Forgetful Storyteller's quest in Season of Performance.
There is also seemingly a connection between the light of megabird and the orbs of light we see in the realm that were introduced with the Season of Lightseekers.
Neither Light Awaits or the current game (that I am aware of) had megabird make an actual appearance like the ones suggested in the concept art. Where it appears on the horizon and sweeps up the skykids.
I also have a theory that Aurora herself during some of the songs may be telling the stories from the perspective of the Light (i.o.w. megabird in some form).
Going from the lyrics of the song, Exhale Inhale:
"I was a moving thing before I was a human being" (possibly ancestors, winged light or skykids)
"I was the ice before it melts, I was the tree before it fell" (before the disaster/pollutions)
"My dear, come near, Do you understand what is happening?" (asking the skykid directly if they know what has happened to the realms. Possibly to help them remember, or see if they understand what they have learned about the realms)
Take note though, the song itself was written before the season was developed, 2022 and 2023 respectively.
Eventhough it is possible both Aurora and TGC were preparing for a collab. It is also possible the song was originally written to comment on the state the real life world is in. Whereas in Sky, the devs have likely drawn inspiration from similar ideas for the ancestors.
This in turn gives us a connection between the fall of the ancestors from pollution, war and greed to real life controversial problems.
Shattered memories are technically the memories of the King right? Especially the elder memory
That is one of the theories surrounding the characters, yes.
Alef is the Prince. They are not to be confused for the Little Prince, therefore I would refer to them as the Sky Prince.
And Resh is the King.
Both of these names are based in Hebrew (as all of the other elder's old names). These are not canon to the lore, as they were placeholders during the game's development.
That said however, you may still see players use these names. They are allowed, as long as new users are aware of what these names are and their non-canon status.
The concept art has shown them as separate characters. Alef being a small figure similar to that of a skykid without a cape and wearing an iconic mask. And the King being one of the largest elders compared to the ones we see in the game today.
As earlier mentioned, there are some theories about these two, even though there is virtually no mention of the prince in the game. Which is interesting given the King seems to be missing but still acknowledged as part of the lore still.
Based on the concept art lore (which has to be taken with a grain of salt), there seems to be plot for the king and the prince that developed throughout the realms.
I'll get that old timline concept art and ellaborate, but agian. This is likely outdated to the live game. Which may have been changed or scrapped since then.
in theory, yes.
I like to think it is the case based on a theory I have been pondering on.
What is certain is the shattering guide is a Eye of Eden Shard.
And these memories may not be of the ancestors.
Which leaves us the possibility these fragments are of a collection of memories clustered together, the memories of the light itself, or the darkness, or both, or that of the creatures of Sky (be it light and/or darkness), or even that of the King.
And why possibly the King is because the Eden crystal is placed at the end of the realm, where we usually would meet the elder of the realm.
Eden is the only realm wihtout an elder that we recognise, and the King is the only elder missing from the realms.
If you like to read the text, try opening the image on a browser in this view (not from the enlarged view). Because Discord may not load the full definition sometimes.
From this old timeline, there is mention of the Dawn elder being a tutor/guide to the Prince, the Prince/King discovering darkstone in the hidden forest, a coronation in valley, a war in wasteland between the creatures and the ancestors (this has clearly changed to a war between the ancestors with some light creatures drawn into the battle as mounts or collateral), and a battle in Eden with the King and a massive dark creature (which is also changed out to the crystal area we have today).
My take on this with the current lore is two possibilities with similar outcomes:
- The king grows up and dies each cycle of the realms, and a new one takes their place. This could either be the King reincarnated.
- Alternatively, the King finds a Prince and they become the new King. However they must find a new Prince to take their place as well with each cycle.
Note, a cycle is what I am using here. I am not sure if these 'cycles' would be the lifetime of the King, an age in the realms or possibly a set amount of time such as a year.
Either case, both end up with breaking the cycle. How this happens I am unsure. The King could have become corrupted and that broke the cycle, or when they went missing (shattered in my opinion) the cycle could not reset. Or the King could not find a Prince to become the new King and thus failed to reset the cycle.
The only evidence I could find of the Prince in the game, if at all as this is a bit of a stretch. Is the hug scene in Eden.
This is because there is a small mention about the King being dead in concept art and they Prince saves the skykids as they all ascend from the King's body.
Ergo, the light kid (that is what I call them) in the void could be the lost Prince of Sky.
the candles around the valley shrine ive actually always imagined were put there by skykids- the sheer amount of them compared to the other temples kinda hints towards some favouritism going on lol
I think that the ancestors spoke an actual language while the Sky kids just speak gibberish.
So in a way ,your interpretation from what I understand, -generational possession?
I would not mean for that in particular.
Although it certainly seem like it.
More like something like a monarchy where a person (or elder/ancestor in this case) is chosen to rule over the kingdom, and have to choose another to do the same when the time comes to it.
The sky kid only seems to be able to communicate via body language and echoed sounds
Can sky kids by consuming other sky kids candles - that are made of light - recharge their energy or maybe more like converting it to their chest
i absolutely share the idea that aurora is sort of a voice to the light, narrating a story to us, taking us through it in chronological order. regardless of the intention in song meaning during the writing of the songs, i think they were carefully picked and given corrosponding visuals to match the story of sky
MY PEEPS I found out an interesting thing in orbit!!! ||I beat the whale up into orbit, and though the mantas were still in front of me, uh the floating part of the tower cOMPLETELY DISAPPEARED so I guess the whale’s what brings the floating parts there???||
I noticed somethin with that when i clipped out of bounds there the other day, i wonder if eden castle just wont ever show up if you do that
idk how exactly you beat the whale, but I assume this may be more of a glitch
you may have missed a game logic trigger or two somewhere and the castle part just didn't load in yet
yea you just missed the castle loading trigger I don’t think this is intentional
Yeah I’m pretty sure I did (I hooked through some clouds and almost got close enough to land on the Elder statues) but I do like the image of the whale head-butting the castle into orbit
extra loud bell noise sound of catapult whale
lol that is what I like to call speedrunning the ascension.
You basically missed the triggers for the castle to load in.
Depending on the path you took, you may even skip the triggers to other parts such as the whale or the beam.
Sometimes, you can skip the trigger to deload the beam and trigger the castle to load in. Resulting in a brightened castle, lol.
On a serious note, this is one of the few instances where going out of bounds can cause a few silly glitches.
Imagine the ancestors behind the scenes loading up the whale-apult each time a group of skykids are set to fly past. XD
"Alright they're coming, RELEASE THE WHALE"
happy whale noises echo trough Eden as the castle is yeeted into orbit
I am cracking up, this is why I love lorechat XD XD ❤️
So I've been reading all the theories of the history and purpose of each of the realms in Sky, and I get it for most of them, with Vault not so much tho. It was a place to store memories or it's a graveyard or a place of worship of some kind-? I don't know I've seen a lot of different things. Anyone help me understand a bit better?
Sure thing.
Starting with the name of the realm, Vault of Knowledge.
The murals and storyline in season of Remembrance explains the ancestors valued memories, experience, history, and/or knowledge.
They capture these in memory darkstone diamonds.
Perhaps they did that to preserve the culture, history of the kingdoms should all ancestors pass away.
Or they wanted to make sure what remained of the ancestors that survived the disaster they faced would have access to knowledge that couldn't be passed down by ancestor who did not make it.
Or these memory lanterns were their way of preserving the memory/lives of the deceased.
We know the ancestors respected the dead. They make sure those who passed are remembered.
Perhaps with the story from Season of Remembrance, the ancestors store the memories of their loved ones so that they can pass on.
The ones who do, perhaps end up as a lost souls and unable to pass on. (this is just a hypothesis here)
Going on a limb with this thought and leaning on the romanticised Mexican culture from the Disney film, Coco.
Perhaps the spirits needed their memories be kept alive so they can pass on. And should they not have any ancestors left to do that.
That leaves the skykids to help bridge that gap. As the skykids meet these spirits and learn their stories, they are able to fulfill their wishes to pass on to the afterlife by remembering them.
By learning their emotes, our skykids remembers the ancestor spirit. And by helping them reach orbit (i.e. unlock their wing buffs to show the skykids have a friendship with the spirits), the spirits are able to pass on and the skykids can return to help more spirits.
Ohh okay cool I think I get it, thank you. Then I guess it's kind of an all of the above situation- memories of the dead that they sorta of 'worship' or just remember and show respect in a way to help souls move on.
So each of those lanterns on the shelves in the vault is an ancestor whos died
One thing I found interesting is how many darkstone diamonds they had in there.
I can imagine they either got most of the material from mining out the interior as they built; and/or were gathering all of the darkstone in the realms for this.
Yeah that is a crazy amount of diamonds if everyone whos died has one. And arent the diamonds meant to be part of the downfall of their society? So overmining this resource around all the realms across the realms seriously impacted the world. Interesting to think that they were trying to preserve their history with the stones while possibly destroying the current world they had around them to do it
Thinking about the abyss spirits, sometimes those crystals were even just worn as jewelry, even.
the ultimate face accessory is a bit of hair with a ring that had a darkstone diamond in it, and so does cackling cannoneer's cape
one of the breathing masks has one too, and i think one of the masks has an empty slot for where one would go
Ancestors may have worn them even nonfunctionally as jewelry, or for aesthetic reasons ( lighting up clothes, etc )
Images of the items/masks... nvm discord uncooperative
sad
There we go, really hate this new UI it literally bugged out lol
Our default mask has the same diamond shape, ill still note. Though, ours is lit up. You dont think...
wild theory about eden.
What if the fallen we see are each an instance of the Prince?
The Prince was trying to reach the crystal but fails each time.
The statues are all the Prince's past attempts and with each one, they got further and closer to the crystal.
Like us skykids, they fall and turn into a statue.
Hoewever, the reason why our own statues are not there the next time we go to Eden is becuase our run is not part of the loop.
We manage to bridge the gap and reach the Orbit. Thus completing the cycle and allowing some parts of the realms to reset.
The Prince couldn't do it alone, just like our skykid couldn't carry on on our own.
Us skykids are not the same as the Prince. That is why we are different. But it is that difference that represent two halves of a whole.
Where Light and Darkness unite (like the Yin and Yang)
Again, this is just a wild hypothetical theory.
And this is also just a though I wanted to share write out while in Eden, lol
Must be a lot of princes then since they all fly out at the end and up into orbit with us, heh
prince mitosis
All of the capes from Abyss have a darkstone on them somewhere!
I think i remember the angler one had a clip on it in the front?
Yup!! And the boatswain’s got them as buttons for his cape
Does the ultimate cape from the abyss guide have any? Thats one of the things i missed from abyss
You could be right about it. I mean, I'm sure the little prince would also be in this whole reincarnation process that we gl through.
But I wouldn't assume that the fallen spirits were of the little prince's attempts. He's just a single being.
I couldn’t remember so I hopped on Sky (and grabbed the Captain’s cape too
)
But there are some statues that hold on to each other, though.
I do love this message, by the way!
Both of them have maybes???
Yeah, there are. So it's pretty much that the fallen spirits were the "inhabitants/people" that were in Eden right before the crystal erupted.
Huh, yeah. Not exactly screaming crystal but some similar shapes
Theories:
- Captain was looking after his crew and giving them darkstones first — guide doesn’t have one on her cape bc she’s so new
- they’re job-specific, so they need to use the stones for certain tasks they’re assigned on the ship
- they’re stones they’ve found while looking for bigger ones and finder’s keepers loser’s weepers. XD Boatswain is infamous for only finding weeny stones that can’t do much
Maybe cannoneers harpoon thing was powered by the darkstone in their cape, heh
i like number 3 there though i wonder if smaller ones had little use in smaller tools, like little handheld things
Yeah!! I’ve been considering them like batteries in my own head (Eden is what happens when you overcharge a lithium battery ;p) so I can see them using the stones to power various tools on the ship as needed
Like maybe small ones just arent powerful enough or valuable enough to be used in their boat to repair it
So they just wear em LOL
Re: cannoneer’s harpoon: I can see them actually using it as a backup crystal in case whatever’s powering their harpoon dies on them or something XD
Or maybe they can act as floatation devices and Boatswain’s very susceptible to falling overboard XD
LOL
Unfortunately maybe cannoners may have been out of power
When you leave the house with 25% battery on your phone and forgot to charge your battery pack
My phones at 8% i feel that right now, if only my phone was powered by candles
Has anyone noticed there isn't any windows in the canonical sky world? All openings in buildings are still accessible by squeezing in between the bars. the "glass" used to contain the leviathan in the abyss area are the game progression barriers where you need a certain amount of spirits from a realm to enter. Most of the time I didn't think those barriers were cannon but now I feel it's a different story. There isn't much information on how they work either, unlike power diamonds.
Glass seems to be less used by the ancestors. You have a good point there.
The barriers in the Abyss area may be spirit gates, or barriers powered by darkstone diamonds.
Back to the glass window idea, that is an excellent point that most (if not all) windows in the realms do not have glass in them.
TGC is able to make transparent panes that can be glass. Especially with the glass doors and windows in the office.
Well done, Marmalade
It’s also possible that the glass just didn’t stand up compared to the rest of the building materials. Glass is one of the first things to break (via weather, war, survivors/scavengers, etc etc) and be taken away by animals (look!!! it’s tiny!!! it’s shiny!!!!) in a building and we don’t know how long the architecture in Sky has been abandoned.
Imagining a pile of glass that, to the crow living inside it, is a magical palace.
A question for lore tho!! Is it generally considered canon that a lot of sky kids died via the prophecy trials before the Prince did them?
So pointy but so sparkly
We know ancestors have died in there.
It is possible skykids who were with living ancestors could have done them.
This theory leans on the lore from Season of Passage for support. Where we saw children with the spirit memories that resemble skykids (albeit capeless skykids)
oop rip message
RIGHT thank you I keep forgetting the ancestor kids are not the same as sky kids OTL
Sorry buddy.
Hope you can recover the message.
Remember to copy rhe text before posting.
the bot may delete it without warning (which I find very annoying)
Yeah I forgot to copy it so I’ll just have to try and remember what I wrote
Even though the Prophecy murals show the Prince as the Prince surviving the trials, for the sake of my sanity I’m going to assume that the Prophets did NOT know which ancestor child was the Prince at first and that is why?? They forced a bunch of children??? Through a bunch of deadly tasks???
Sorry i might interupt something here, just want to post this, i think I find it at treasure reef.. maybe it helps with the lore 🙂
Not neceseraly
There menterns that hold knowlige. It is the colective works, knowlige and memoties of the ancesters from the old world ( as far as they could preserve it)
It curtainly does.
This and other murals in abyss have already been posted and discused at different points in this chat☺️
This entire region is ( or was😅) production and resurch town, focused on darkstone mineing and refineing, crystal production and resurch said production and light creature harvesting
Throughout the treasure reaf you can see tiped over carts of row darkstone ore and refined crystals that were being transported by the same kind of lift technology that transports the boats in valley
We also see a mural that shows anceaters mining for darkstone ore, just like how in forest we see (aurora) memory's of large scale mineing of darstone in the underground caverns under grandmas place ( among other locations)
This whole place was preaty much ment to be the next evolution of crystal temples, like the main Forest temple and the broken temple in Waistland ( waistland had many more like this), but far more advanced and far greater production output
you tied these together succinctly!
I could have done it a lot better to be honest😔
I just run out of time
( I should really do a proper google doc on crystal production facileties🤔)
Thank you for all the lore summary 🥺🥺
Is there any schedule to which lore is being talk about here?
Sorry I'm new to all this🙇🏻♀️
Unfortunatly not😅 ( at least not that Im aware of)
This is where the different timezones make it difficult make a didicated lore schedual thats sutible for everyone
Literally whenever lol
Simply post when you have time and see who else happens to be here.
Okay, thanks again!
And.. is the passage stone lore already being talked about?
Speaking of glass existing in Sky- yes, I am late to this topic- would it apply to glasses too? Since some of the spirits we see have them by some not many- the only ones that wear actual glasses is the guide from season of Moment
God, I can't grammar and English today
To be fair, virtually anything that is not new to the game has been talked about.
However, that does not mean it is ove and done with for anyone who want to learn about now and not back read all the way to when it was new.
Folks will inevitably bring up old lore again and again and that is fine. That is what lore chat is about 🙂
True, to add onto that, the things humans try to keep out of their houses with glass is very different from the things spirits try to keep out with gates. Spirit gates can only be opened with light, so it's perfect for containing dangerous dark creatures because you can get real close to the creature without bring damaged by it's darkness. I suppose at first, spirits didn't feel a need to make a transparent building material to keep anything out of their homes because the sky world was healthy and not overrun by darkness. Skykids live in a post apocalyptic time though, so to us it's absurd to have so many free openings.
It's really funny, because prescription glasses implies spirits have sight? And on top of that, can have impaired sight?? And they know how to fix it!? It's interesting because unlike other medical practices seen in sky, (which is typically giving someone light after being attacked by darkness) this isn't for the sake of survival exactly. Glasses are still a need, of course, but not life threatening. Maybe the white dots on the corner of the glasses are power diamonds, and they warp light so that the world is more visible to the user. But that's me reaching for Mars so yk💀💀
For the days of fashion glasses, it's really hard to say. They're not completely opaque because you can change the color of your world based on the glass you're wearing, so that has to mean they're semi transparent. And the sanctuary sun glasses!? I'm at a loss

They can get injured, and thus some injuries could be permanent.
It would be interesting to see a spirit of an ancestor who suffered an injury or was born with a defect that would affect their mobility or sense.
Imagine a spirit with a walking cane and/or a creature to guide them about. Or a spirit with a prosthetic limb.
It would be very interesting to see a spirit with something akin to a wheelchair.
I do hear a lot of talk Abt the valley twins having prosthetic arms, which I'm not sure is cannon. I do hope we see a spirit that shows how sky civilization dealt with disability and worked around it. There's lots of potential, I just hope that TGC notices this creative potential and doesn't just make a wheelchair with power diamonds 😭
The camera we get from season of moment has lense which means it has glass on it too! And how the krill do they get the camera to work?? Dark Crystal power?
Similar to the one in Vault, maybe?? The one that can share memory/project em
Omg that's a real tough question! There is one or two power diamonds attached to the camera, so it is diamond technology used to work the thing. So far though, we have only seen it used to project images, and move things. So it is very interesting that we have found a new use for them as well. Tbh though the way the camera works is a secret only known to the moments guide
LORE AND TECHNOLOGY

Anyways- I need to eat grandma foodz brb (Sky Grandma)
oh, lol.
That is up for debate.
One could say it is possibly armour. Although there is plenty of evidence to suggest the twins have a prosthetic arm on each twin's side.
As for disabilities in Sky.
I'd love to see that included/expanded upon.
From what I have seen in this channel, I do recall a group in the past who were vocal about it. Although were against the idea of ableism.
To skate past that pitfall quickly though.
As long as TGC handles the idea well and presents it with in good faith to the community, it would be nice to see.
I can see how players may enjoy seeing their skykid with features they can relate to.
However, I can also see how it would be a tricky topic in general interactions.
Especially if players were to make fun of a group of people or act disrespectfully.
It would be interesting to hear if the devs and/or concept artists have considered including disabilities to the lore/game. But faced similar logistical complications that left the team to not explore that avenue.
Yes!! I can see some members being rude about a spirit with a disability, if they were added to the game. Some people say that season of passage implies the spirits have a neurodivergent background, and if that is the case, I think the way the sky civilization handles it is super cool and creative. What I'm hoping for is smth similar to that in physical disability, or neurodivergence both are cool:>>. OMG I forgot about the warrior in season of remembrance! They had a peg leg, so that implies they're an amputee, right? But the valley twins had working prosthetics that move in the same way as a regular arm? Does that mean depending on your class, you get different treatment for your disability?
the wounded soldier has bandages, lol.
I am afraid that they are not any missing limbs.
They were badly hurt, yes.
I would not put past the idea there could be an ancestor who lost a limb at some point.
I THOUGHT THAT WAS A PEG LEG OMG,💀💀💀💀
The twins prosthetic arms though.
This could possibly be a relic of their older design during the game's development.
At one point, there was an idea where the elders are missing certain body parts. A hole in the chest for one, another was missing an arm, another was even missing a head, or a leg.
But this idea did not make to the final version, clearly lol.
However, the twins with their odd arms are intentional. Eventhough the game has not really explained why to us.
Smth that I noticed though, there are a lot of spirits with broken masks. Especially those who are implied to have longer exposure to darkness? Its very interesting that the masks are so fragile like that
Back from Grandma! And Isle of Dawn elder suffer from big damage (mainly the face) while G.W. suffers from being old? Idk he/them seems suffering from something
I doubt we will get more information on why the twins have the prosthetic arms, if TGC gives lore it is very rarely about the elders. But if that was the only thing to make it to the final game from that missing-limb concept, then it has to be important.
Oh and that's why base wasteland spirits have so much guarding around the face! It's used as extra protection against darkness because they know they need it.
I loved this idea from Light Awaits where the Dawn elder in older version of their cutscene showed their mask being restored, and then breaking again.
The idea the elder gain power, use it, but cannot keep this power for themselves and thus lose it.
Seeing the Dawn elder using their power to help the skykids but at the cost of their mask breaking apart as a cost was sad, but also selfless.
It spoke about a being that could hold so much power, but chose to not use it.
Either because they regretted the mistake they made in the past, and/or see themselves not worthy to hold that power and rather would give it up to help instead.
The cutscene we see since the release of the live game does not show this though. My best guess is seeing the elder lose their mask like that could have been too sad.
The Wasteland elder is battle worn.
They seem to have lost their strength or will to fight.
Probably after defending the temple from dark dragons for so long.
They did a good job though, hardly any corrupted darkness has made it into the Vault. Which is impressive given how much darkness Wasteland has.
That one Krill in TLP story quest line
Hehe sorry xD I can't resist
The level 5 hurricane sitting right outside the door at the top floor to Eden.
True though about that krill, these creatures are relentless.
I kinda miss that fellow. I have not seen them again ever since the quest ended. I hoped that they would stick around seeing that area hardly gets used.
Despite the fact that TGC added a lovely memorial all the way out there.
I think the wasteland elder still wants to fight or protect, but prolonged exposure to darkness made it difficult. Maybe some type of chronic pain/illness? So when you give the wasteland elder light, it soothes said pain and allows them to fufill their duty.
I'll name him Shrimpie, I miss him qwq
Hi y'all remember me ?
Not me sorry, new member
This image is just so cool to me, and powerful like something that is so threatening to sky children is nothing to a human
MAY THE POWAH OF LIGHT BRING YOUR STRENGTH TO THY WISE LEADER ||sorry xD||
I mean it's kinda fitting since our last encounter with LP (besides in Eden-) is pretty sweet of them
I think the krill did nothing to the prince since his a spirit not a child of light the krills always hungry for light and devour it once it sees one so I think the krill spotted the prince but didn't attack him since the prince doesn't have light in him
He sniffs LP.. No boop from the nose attacc
"Oh, Ello fren"
But it would've shown that it spotted TLP if and only if the blue light hit TLP and turned red. Otherwise, the krill didn't.
I thought the prince got a spirit skin only because of copyright or something? He has tan skin during the season, so he may look like a spirit now but I think he's human in the seasonal story?
Also, I'm gonna ruin this image for y'all- the Krill looks like it running with its two legs (look at the legs at the end)
HELP 😭😭😭
THE KRILL ENJOYING LIKE HE'S A CHILD ☠️
They are shrimp puppies!
Eventhoiamscaredofthem-
He's going down memory lane
But it should attack him once his eye turn red you saw in gw he spotted the manta that is made of Light and attacked it to devour it's Light same for children of LIGHT soo it clear that when it spots something made of Light they devour it
I don't think I remember the krill spotting TLP. The krill didn't see him, and it managed that the blue light never hit him. Otherwise, he's dead meat.
The krill just went past him as if he was not even there.
The Krill and LP kinda did the prolonged eye contact meme
If that was true I think I would say the krill just ignored him because they didn't spot light in them
They're actually nice though. 😊
But I advise you to not get into their line of sight, or else they'll make you their fetch stick. 😁
They are! The main reason why I love them but will stay away from them
Yeah, but back when I was experiencing the story, the cutscene showed that the blue light from the krill did not come in contact with TLP.
Please don't XD /j
I can already hear the most ominous Mr. Crabs leg sounds.
But still manages to get photos of them
Oh, thanks to the camera from The Season of Moment- most of the picture I take is from that!
Hehe
That is so true, we owe a lot from the Moments Guide.
Yep! I didn't get the items tho cuz I joined during the mid-session of that season- I was a moth.. I really want the guide glasses
Not me joining in the season of revival, but manages to get the camera. ☠️
The camera is a free gift! From TGC
I like how putting the Guide in Aviary like that will help new players seek it out sooner.
Nicee!
Well, back to the lore we go.
Not all the elders had an injury. The best example is the elder from Daylight Prairie. The big guy be doing fine as heck. With the big es pot he has.
Another is the elder from Hidden Forest. Although a bit rude when we met him, he was doing all fine.
I guess that in the past, the war between Valley and Golden Wasteland or Eye of Eden escalated. And it even dragged the other elders along. Like the elder from Isle of Dawn who literally had their head cracked up.
And maybe the elder from the Vault of Knowledge, since they had a crack on their left eye.
The Elders need therapy. Actually, everyone in Sky needs therapy
Weird but in the shard memory Forest Elder is the one that got yeeted very far beside the twins (I don't see Prarie and G.W. elder tho)
all elders are there, I assure you. lol
WAIT WHAT SHARD MEMORY!?
Oh ghad I'm missing out on a lot
It's VERY DARK

You can definitely find them, but they are in the darkest part of the room. Bring a friend for light, but I made sure to step on all of their faces individually.
There's a shard memory that consists all of the Elders. I think it's the last shard memory
Correct me if I'm wrong
W H E R E 😭
funny you mentioned the forest elder in the shard memory.
That model of the forest elder is a newer model than the others.
Glow Spell helps, too.
Unfortunately, since the Shattering season is finished, you have to pray to the deity of luck that you'll be able to see the Elders Shard memory because shard memories are now randomized in every red shard moment
I'm surprised the forest elder didn't receive any damage- during that happen
And where's the deity of luck?
You have to catch the Shattering Events when they Occur.
Black Shards just give Wax, but Red Shards have another layer to them, entirely.
The schedule for Shards can be confusing, and difficult to track, but the folks in #questions-and-help are very good about it.
Okei thank you! Time to gamble which memory gonna appear then. .
I do not know 😭
I was just kidding with the deity of luck
You have to be patient and hope that you'll see the Elders shard memory
Same with the Daylight Prairie elder, though
He is a big boi- I didn't see them with G.W. I mind change my mind once I see them
Season of Shattering.
Find the shards that fall on most days, cleanse the darkness from the red ones (best find help or friends to make the task that much less painful, lol).
You will find the shard memories when you meditate at them after the fact. Within these shard memories is the guide,* The Void of Shattering.*
(not joking)
When you talk to them, and complete the quests, you will find the elder one to be the last shard memory.
And shard memories after you complete the quests will be in random order.
What if the Elder shard memory is just a metaphor? Like the Tragedy, the production of dark stone, yadda yadda, was the downfall of everything
I'm just speculating lol
Lemme find my lore enthusiast self for this
Not my mind playing big boy-
Also, this is how bright I can get with the season of moment camera and it is STILL DARK.
yeet lol
This is just my interpretation
Let's say, the Elders shard memory is a metaphor to the downfall of the civilization. Since the Elders are the representatives of their realms and the huge shard right at the middle of the memory has brought damage to them, what if:
Shard = darkness
Elders = the realms (since representatives)
If we're speaking literally, then there may have been a time when the Elders have gone to deal with the problem in Eden. In Point of No Return, there is a very big shard. What if the Elders went to Eden as a last resort to finally try and dispel the darkness.
Unfortunately, that brought them to their demise and were unsuccessful in dispelling the darkness that is so rampant in Eden.
I legit struggling to find em TwT.. I'll do the glow spell next time
The lantern makes for a dinky spot light
I mean the shattering shard is a memory so you aren't far off from the actual truth!
Idk the truth tho- and we won't be having it soon so speciation/theory is noice
Dont mind the blue. My skykid was wearing frosted lenses.
That can be right. But 'member the revealed constellation of Eye of Eden, while in the Vault of Memory?
It revealed the mural behind that crown constellation. And it showed that there's another elder that is the elder of the Eye of Eden.
So what if all the six elders were trying to persuade the seventh elder from being plunged into their twisted desires, to which the seventh elder refused, and they had no choice but to stop him the hard way?
This one has all the elders just barely in sight.
And no, taking a pic from the otherside is a bit too dark lol.
OMG THANK YOUUUUUU- Can I save?? And I also remember that red dark crystal is hurting my eyes too since I was playing in full brightness

Can you show the one on the other side? I can't seem to point them out.
of course, it is not like I can stop you, lol.
Sadly today's memory shard is jellyfish, not the elders
However, if you do the quest- you can actually see it since your quest would change the memory (the elder is the last one and it's noy random)
I also similarly thought about this. This is just another interpretation of mine.
Resh/Eden Elder (who was once Alef) was the one who is prophesized to be the one who would bring greatness to the world, but his hubris became his downfall and he became corrupted with darkness. The shard can represent the darkness that everyone had to stop and/or the King who became corrupted and will soon have his hubris become his downfall.
~~I have other messages regarding how some have gone against the King/Resh in this chat. Some involve the war in Golden Wasteland and stuff. I used to have Sky Lore brainrot and I probably still do. It's just hibernating
~~
I prefer to ask permission and thank you!~
hope this helps
I would most likely prefer this and mine, since I assume that all the elders have an unbreakable connection between all of them. And like good friends, they'd help each other out.
I guess the six elders trying to stop the seventh elder is just exactly like trying to not let them walk in a dark path/fall in a cliff.
NOT ME ASSUMING THAT THE FOREST ELDER LOOKED LIKE THE DAYLIGHT PRAIRIE ELDER HELP ☠️
But thank you!
Forest elder be looking like a flying spaghetti monster. Day elder be a flying meatball /hj
HE BUILT LIKE ONE OF THE CAR BALLOONS HOW CAN'T YOU SEE IT-
HE AND THE DAYLIGHT PRAIRIE ELDER LOOKED BUFF OKAY!? BUT HIDDEN FOREST ELDER HAS LIKE A SHORTER TOP THAN DAYLIGHT PRAIRIE ELDER ☠️
BUT IT LOOKED LIKE THEY'RE THE SAME FROM THAT PIC SO
you are ok, lol
I am speechless but yeah, it's okay.. (Prarie elder looks like a whale too from that angle- Okay, ima stop)
Okay now I can see
I just noticed that the Hidden Forest elder has a pickaxe or something, 'cause I see the head of the pickaxe and he's always holding his trusty pickaxe all the time.
I also think that Alef/Resh was a student of the six Elders. That one memory from Ushering Stargazer where she and Rejecting Voyager (I hope I got the spirit's name right) shows a child that was sent from the sky. I think that child is Alef/Resh.
With the knowledge that Alef/Resh is the one who will bring greatness to the world, the Elders became his teachers. I believe that Ushering Stargazer and Rejecting Voyager are Alef/Resh's guardians/parents.
When Resh became king, it was known that every Elder helped each other (ever since the first day and before Resh arrived) and the realms so there would be balance and no problems would happen. The Elders do care for each other.
When darkness became rampant, the Elders told Resh about this since he was the king. Due to his hubris, Resh ignored them and the rest is history.
I like writing about Sky lore
Six*
Oh- is the Dawn of Isle Elder considered the oldest?
I noticed. Thank you
You can think of that!
For me, I thought of something else different due to headcanons and such 😅
First to arrive -> Isle, Prairie, Forest, Wasteland, Vault
Arrived next -> Valley Twins (as babies, the Elders took care of them while Forest and Wasteland became their parents)
Last to arrive -> Alef/Resh/Eden King
They certainly would win the 'longest beard' contest, lol.
We have no idea how elders came into existence.
I recall somewhere the devs mentioned they just came to be. They were never born (I cannot confirm this sadly. It has been a while, lol).
Although based on looks, I can see the dawn elder being the most geriatric of the group (the oldest).
If he is the oldest- poor peepaw didn't get his retirement home- well he get one which is death ig--
His realm became desolate and got sand
ISLE OF DAWN USED TO HAVE GRASS ISLE OF DAWN USED TO HAVE GRASS
Alef/Resh having invincible ignorance
Ooh! That would be so pretty..
The dawn elder is the best candidate for a wheelchair.
The fella may as well have a boat for a wheelchair, lol.
He got the face, the hair, and the staff aka his cane! He needs his retirement already!
Y'all don't do him like this, he could wipe y'all out with his staff even if his bones are crackling 😭
Spoilers for AURORA concert
If you have went to the AURORA concert, ||at the part where Runaway is playing, you may get to see Isle of Dawn having grass||
Seeing Isle of Dawn having grass is enough to make my eyes go wide because ISLE OF DAWN USED TO HAVE GRASS
The green-like remnants at the first cave in Isle of Dawn should prove it
I didn't notice that.. OMG

Also, during the concert and at the Runaway part, if you go near to the Isle temple, you may get to see Isle Elder nearby the doorway. Lemme find a screenshot
Okay, now im confused with the season of passage timeline..
WAIT OMG, it's also where the first spirit gate is! Like the one nearest facing the temple
It had grass too
This was taken in beta. I hope a screenshot taken in beta is allowed
HUWAAAAA!! I didn't notice this! He's waiting for the spirits down below to come there, so that he can ascend them to the stars.
any beta content that got released to the live game is fair game.
Seeing there is no reason to spoiler it anymore.
Hence the rule being any beta content (not yet released to the live game) is off limits.
Because obviously spoilers.
Ok if screeenshots taken from beta isn't allowed. I have this screenshot taken during the concert in Live. I'll encircle where the Isle Elder is
Would you like to ellaborate?
I was screaming when I saw him because I appreciate Isle Elder
Yes, please!
ok, what about the season of passage are you confused about?
I know you said timeline, though do you mean the timeline of the realms as a whole and where that season would fit in?
Or the story line of the season itself?
I want to know about the general timeline (roughly)
For example, the season of remembrance shows us war victims but we don't know when that happens we can roughly guess it thanks to the Aurora concert
And the same goes with the season of Abyss where the spirits are more recent since they didn't suffer like the one we encounter
I want the timeline order of the seasons (I hope it's not confusing)
Ok, here is ( in my opinion😅) the most generelized sky timeline

YEARS OF THE STARS ( The creation of the universe, megabird, begining of the cycle of light, the first light creatures and the stars)
ERA OF FIRE ( begining of the ancester.....
you are fine. I have not looked into that part of the lore that heavily.
Frankly because the lore for me on that scale is difficult to follow.
Especially when considering the seasons.
It is not impossible though. It mostly takes sifting through info and paying attention to a few details/hints.
I would recommend asking a user called Salem here.
Best you look up messages from them here about timelines.
They used to be active here and were among the users who did a good amount of work and theorising on it.
Take note is still a theory, as the game does not help much in confirming its own timeline (at least not in a direct way).
Another user to look at would be one called Baudshaw.
I am sad to hear they have recently been removed from the server. I have known them for a while here and he has been an avid theorist here ever since season of Prophecy (about 2 years back).
Let me wrangle a few links for you.
Ok, something come up, I will get back to this later😅
It's okay xD I don't mind

Digging in this channel for art, theories and certain phrases would be wortwhile seeing it has been running for over 4 years.
There is a treasure trove of lore that has been discussed many times, lol.
Ayyye it's been a while since ive been in the channel
Surprised someone still remembers me lmao
🕯️ RIP Baudshaw 🕯️
He will not be forgotten as a mathmatical madlad of lorechat .
He has been a member since season of Prophecy and has been a fantastic active user here.
I sent some screenshots from the Two Embers trailer and I included one that reminded me of Season of Passage
The last screenshot reminds me of Season of Passage because the stoles of the smaller people remind me of the season and that the summoning of light is involved (Passage Guide summons masks in every end of the quest in Season of Passage.) Just my take
Season of Passage probably tells how things were taught to others (education.) During the first few generations of Sky where everyone is still figuring out everything, stuff was figured out and teachings, guidance, and education was established.
Season of Passage probably shows guidance, teaching, and education and how it was done when Sky started to exist (the first ever generations) and that teaching is still preserved to guide and teach the next generation. This discussion of lore makes me want to write more Sky fanfiction, but I still have one that is a work in progress
Source of screenshot?
Thank you!!
That's just my take tho
Is it like a movie, or a gameplay?
I actually don't know, I think it's a movie. Correct me if I'm wrong
And thank you too
How is it possible for this darn trailer to inflict mental damage like that.
Darn it!
What if- becuase this thought just hit like a dump truck. What if this is/was the anxious angler!?
Because of the darkstone pendant, the clothing roughly matching (it is a stretch though), and this was near wasteland (presumably), which would link to Abyss.
*starts to cry*
Sky lore is like an onion.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Since Salem's analysis of spirits' connections though I'd like to retract that timeline
And I keep cutting more onions because I create sad Sky lore headcanons in order to make Sky lore sadder
Maybe it's their son 😦
Wait, is the Anxious Angler even a boy or a girl?

Feel free to interpret the gender of the Elders and spirits in your own way!
Canonically, all ancestors, elders and skykids do not have genders.
Meaning the devs present them as neutral to be open for interpretation.
Folks are fine to go with their interpretations though.
In the Spanish translation, since the language itself uses grammatical genders, they did pick and choose one for each spirit.
I still absolutely love that it’s up to interpretation for each person but just thought this was quite interesting (for whichever languages that have similar rules)
For the images: M= masculine, F= feminine, N= “neutral”-applies for either
Is it just me or has Stonehenge been used as inspiration for the home
Also also thing is that the every area that the sky kid goes to in sky been called a realm
Isn’t that strange cause realms are basically like separate universes
Also i like to think that Eden is like Yigderssel the world tree in Norse Mythos were in the realms were apart of it until the something happened to Eden maybe Ragonok
There are more links to Norse mythos in Sky as the Valley could be a rendition of Niflheim and the realm of ice and snow
Monumental architecture!
often is built to align with some sort of cosmological orientation. So it makes sense that there are multiple shrines throughout the lands in order to see the different constellations and also the sun
I suppose Home, and now by extension Aviary(-ish, because of harmony hall, and what seems to be a future flight/wind paths connection) are the ones disconnected, as the remaining realms can be navigated without ever returning to home.
Sky has a lot potential and it builds up every season
I found a brick wall in the clouds of aviary lol. But it does look like there may be future paths to somewhere
yeah in the Wind Paths area, you can see barely see a hole blocked by stormy clouds on the opposite end of the main entrance (diving into the first tunnel spits you out right next to it). Just like the clouds that blocked the wind paths proper during flight.
(Which is why I think Flight is the final quest, but we'll see soon enough)
Said Wind Paths hole. (Which admittedly is more visible in game, particularily if you fly right into it and get bounced.)
hey guys! Poppin back in after ages of absence to ask, uhm. okay this is a huge hypothetical but i kinda need to figure this out for the ending of a fic and
so. The skykid you meet after you die in eden and before you enter orbit. for this fic i am going to... get them out of there. For that, i either need my protag to:
1: somehow smuggle any amount of light into the void, which can only be accessed by running out of light
OR
2: somehow make it into the eden castle, also with any amount of light left
and i cannot for the life of me figure out how either of these would happen and i was wondering if anyone maybe had ideas. becaude im stumped
if it helps for inspiration purposes, there used to be a visual bug in the eden void that resulted in a bright light (like a faraway star) being visible in the distance, in a different direction from the light child.
I'll grab the photo of it after I eat.
that could be a start... ive been trying to think of some way the two guys doin the eden run could keep eachother lit but anything i think of feels like some other curious skykids wouldve done it AGES ago because of course a bunch of kids would wanna go to the cool death castle
here you go, January 20, 2022.
oh THATS interesting
I could use that if i could figure out why the kid trapped there wouldnt have tried it on their own but. again i have written myself into a weird corner
Oh ahah, I don't think you can actually reach it in game, I think I remember trying that at the time, but it never seems like it gets any closer.
I've always seen the child trapped there as just another part of the self, rather than a real physical child, considering the two merge together after hugging.
Like the body and the soul.
YEAyea from a canon perspective i'd probably agree but for the sake of the fic that is the king of eden (who is a skykid) who has been trapped there since the uhm. yknow. since eden blew up. and i think he'd have tried just about everything he could do to get out on his own by now
like i said! ive written myself into a very weird corner with all this where anything i do think of has to be something that any skykids who've gotten curious wouldnt have thought to do before this point
If you take the perspective that the king is the one responsible for the shattering (which I believe I've seen brought up here before?), then perhaps the king doesn't leave because he can't but rather because he doesn't feel as if he should.
Like this is atonement for causing the fall of his kingdom and his citizens.
... oh that works actually. i already write them with a ton of guilt so like.
protag feeling like they have to "be a hero" to make up for stuff they were forced to do 🤝 king feeling like they don't deserve to leave because of decisions that were made for them then pinned on them like a scapegoat
Yeah sometimes it just takes turning your thinking around to get unstuck :)
Best of luck with the fic
im gonna need that luck this is gonna be my third attempt to write it and ive never even made it past daylight prairie in those two attempts
Ive got like! The whole fic planned out! i just keep fizzling out before the forest and by the time i pick it back up my writing skills have improved enough that i wanna start from scratch
OH! oh oh this does work bc i can tie the castle raid into it and i JUST had an idea for that
