The season guide in Passage also teaches young ancestors various virtues

what’s a season of passage ._.
anyhow , I have noticed that the entrance of the graveyard wasteland looks like and have similarities with the temple in hidden forest, could this possibly mean something?
It'd probably be so much easier to just use lanterns too, efficiency aside
like this a world where everyone has a light inside them, probably nearly every ancient carried candles on them at all times too
Could be one of the diamond refineries since forests temple seeks to be based off one. Wouldn’t be so far off since wasteland seems to already have a diamond refinery seen in abyss, albiet on a much larger scale
A season about teaching 4 teenagers from the tails how to get along
ooohhh it’s the season that I have missed
yep it’s the one before this one!
Fun fact: all those mantas trapped in dark plant the forest area were traps put by the granny so she can turn them into tasty meatballs, hence why those meatballs give you wax. They’re made out of light creatures. 😋
Neither fun, nor a fact.
But... There is something weird about Grandma's bread, if you ask me.
I mean, at the Party they had normal Cake that didn't roll off of the table when you tried to eat it. What's Grandma's excuse? What's really the difference between her Featureless Globs, and the Dark Featureless Globs that spawn from places like the Cozy Hideout and the Bonfire?
Condensed magic flame turns into ball
"Condensed" would be an interesting phenomenon caused by the entire Planet potentially existing in a Singularity at the center of an Infinite Quasar... But I'm hitting a lot of different angles rn. I should just drink my coffee and be quiet.
It’s not the least plausible theory I’ve heard regarding their dumplings. Although nobody really knows the secret recipe…
Hence why everything in the sky world is not as it seems. Skykid are literal flames vessel who can create concentrated light out of out the palms of their hand to the point where they have the ability to add volume to said light. Skykids themselves burns so hot that they need to be kept in a “moth” vessel when they spawn into the world to contain their immense energy so they dont burn the entire ecosystem to a blim.
My bet is on those manta’s. There’s something very fishy about the fact that there’s an old lady living in the middle of the woods all alone surrounded with nothing but mantas…
Hey, there are Jellyfish too...
"🎵 I just had a Sandwich. No ordinary Sandwich... 🎶"
Right?
Actually, in the Season of Belonging, the “Grandma” was actually the Belonging Guide, and they invited all of their family to a feast for one last time
Yeah, key word “invited”. Who’s to say the granny did not lose it after she never saw her family again. Isolation can be very though for an old lady.
"There's no place like Home.
Except Grandma's House."
Oh, I actually have a very in-depth answer to this question.
And it comes down to what I consider as Sky Folk's third and final "Biological Need".
Sleep.
It also reminds that one story of hansel and gretel where the witch tried to fatten the kids up so she can consume them. There’s something very fishy about that old lady in the woods
I don’t think sky kids and spirits really need sleep.
Sky Kids definitely sleep.
You can't leave one standing still for more than a few minutes without them passing unconscious.
Scientists don't really know why humans need to sleep, but it's pretty universally agreed that it comes down to mental stability. Just to readjust yourself and start fresh.
Skykid simply mimic everything they see around, when they sleep, they’re merely pretending.
Take note, Skykids can get tired. Therefore can rest to restore their energy.
Even though Sky does not impliment this in the game with sleeping and/or resting mechanics. It does still imply skykids can get tired with the candle running system.
The more you run, the more your skykid gets tired and becomes less efficient with collecting Light/Wax.
At the start of the next day (daily Light), your skykids' ability to collect Light is refreshed.
Skykids may imitate things, as children typically do. There is some amount of evidence leading to the idea that skykid can get tired.
I sortof agree with this in sentiment, but I wouldn't call it all mimicry. A lot of things they do (we make them do) because it's familiar. Like the tea and biscuits in certain props. WE (the players) think it's cute, so they (the skid) decide to oblige because it makes them feel good. They eat biscuits, we get dopamine. Because the soul that ultimately inhabits and controls a Skyd is YOUR SOUL.
This. Someone said this before, and I really stuck with it. I know work gets sloppy as you get fatigued, and my proposal is that Sky Kids require several more hours of sleep per day than we do. Now, it's all relative by perspective, so it mostly goes unnoticed, but it's all they do when we log off.
Skykids are no ordinary people, they’re beings of light who does not need to follow the natural law of survival in order to maintain their core energy. They are imply made of self sustaining energy. They do not get tired of candle running at all, they simply have stored an excess of it to the point where collect more wax will have no effect. Their body will naturally release it thought the creating of a candle.
Spirits on the other hand may have different needs to a skykids.
They may not need rest in the traditional sense.
Although one can entertain the theory of them being restless spirits that may need to be laid to rest (pass on).
Although, the game does not explain much on this about the spirits. What we can gather from interactions are that spirits can be bound by their memories and trapped in the realms. Their memories usually relate to their identity/personality. They are aware of their situation and willing to help the skykids (that or possibly in a semi-lucid state given that none of them seem to have explained their understanding of their ghostly status to the skykids.)
You're making it sound an awful lot like a certain biological function, lol.
[edited in]||because the original got purged when I tried to edit in a certain emoji...||

You're making it sound an awful lot like a certain biological function...
"🎶Any baby with a brain could tell you: Everybody... 🎵"
But no, I'm not subscribing to that.
Candle forging is a deliberate action that Sky Kids must choose to perform, but is absolutely not necessary for survival.
I'm trying to reconcile this with the basic assumption that all Spirits who we can interact with; can be Ascended. I'll try to talk about it when I get somewhere.
Skykid don’t really have organs such as a brain or a heart which can result one to sleep. I do agree with your statement with skykid’s being your soul, but that doesn’t justify why they would need to rest. When a skykid eat something in game, they’re simply pretend playing, when they sleep, it’s because they’re mimicking the spirit they learned that action from.
Also you are right, candles are not essential to skykids survival, but they still need to guide all that wax somewhere. Candle forging occurs when a skykid decide to make use of all the stored light in their arsenal into a solid matter.
I can agree to that.
It would be a stretch for a human child to fall hundreds of feet and not even get a sprained ankle. To bonk into a wall so hard, you'd think they would have a concushion and yet a skykid can easily shrug off the damage.
Not to mention their affinity to the Light and negative effect of the darknes.
Skykids forge candles on demand. It is does not look like an 'biological function' at all.
Skykids are an oddity with their questionable anatomy including a living holy flame.
Tbh i do agree with you for the most part but i’m just not convinced skykids actually need to sleep in order to maintain themselves.
But i do believe skykids are not actually the physical manifestation if you, the player. They’re vessels.
They’re simply created bu the gods to contain the last hope of light within that vessel. If not then they would literally burn the world to the ground.
I agree. Candle forging is not a necessity for their survival. Candle running itself it pointless for them.
Absolutely agree that organs are non-existent, but they do have sentience in a certain capacity. That's the part that Sleep supports.
Consider a hypothetical experiment where you forced a person to stay awake and play sky all the time, but you recorded and observed that person's behavior ONLY through watching their Sky Kid in game.
No doubt, their behavior would falter amd differ from other Sky Kids in ways that cleary demonstrate a need for sleep.
A creature rests for various reasons.
In terms of gameplay, a player character that never gets tired would allow a player to carry on as long as they are able to. Which may not be a healthy habit for a game focusing on making friends rather than grinding for candles until you get sick of it. This also balances the candle economy for players who can get a reasonable amount of candles in a certain amount of time. (I am not saying this balance is ideal, however do acknowledge that there is a balance the devs intend to mantain)
In the lore, a skykid that can get tired plays well into the idea that they may be resilient and strong. They are still small and weak compared to much larger threats they have to face (ex. krill, darkness, Eden).
A skykid getting tired lets the player emotionally connect to them. That and subtly nudge the player's focus off candle running after a while and focus on playing with friends.
Because it's really NOT healthy to play videogames all the time, so TGC built in this feature to keep Players active. But... I always say (not like I'm even the only one) I like to define solid, in-universe explanations, in favor of developmental or technological hangups.
Candles has some value.
They use candles to give/share their light with other skykids. This is how they make a connection with another individual and become closer to one anther (friends).
One core point in the lore is the skykids are supposed to spread their Light across the realms.
They do this with gathering the Light the find in the world, and dispersing it with spirits, cleansing darkness and ascending the fallen in Eden.
I like to think of it as a convoluted pollinating system with the skykids acting like bees, spreading the pollen/Light, and gathering the honey to ensure their future as a colony/community.
In the lore, a skykid that can get tired plays well into the idea that they may be resilient and strong. They are still small and weak compared to much larger threats...
Further, I give it credit for why Sky Kids will always be Kids. In the scope of Eternal Life, our own lifespan is an infinitely small percentage. On top of the fact that they just aren't awake and aware for as much time as we are.
Even if you play this game for the rest of your life, your Sky Kid will never automatically age to a point where you could tell the difference.
Another common sentiment here is that Sky Kids just don't understand, and therefore can't really take full advantage of the powers they might really have. I like the idea that only after hundreds or thousands of years alive could they really start to master Spacetime and Special Relativity.
And firebending
whoosh!
Yeah i agree , but i do believe that skykids are merely living in a delusion, a false reality to convince themselves that they are a normal child to cope with the fact they are the world last hope and saviour and failing to play their role will ultimately spread upon darkness into this world. Mind you, alot of skykids came before them, and they all failed to do their task, hence why the elders have given up hope on us.
If you look at it in a video game standpoint, then yes skykids are immortal being who never get tired to satisfy the players need to consume the genre of the modern video game genre.
But if you look at it in a lore standpoint, they logically energy itself need to be recycled. As you mentioned, sleep is important and is one of the main way a person can recover their bodily energy.
Skykids need light to survive. Just as we need sleep and food to do so. Too much of it or too little can have severe negative consequences on the body. As for skykids, too little light can lead to death, too much will lead to ascension(as you see it in eden). Therefore in order to maintain the vessel they were given, they must keep a steady balance of it so not to break it
And ultimately releasing eternal flame into the world.
Honestly i’m running out of things to say therefore i’ll head of to sleep
One thing I really wish is for Traveling Spirits to actually roam the world of Sky, not just home. They’ve been kind of doing that with the group TS, but imagine something like a Belonging family reunion
The idea your skykid never grows up.
That would be a sweet but also sad idea.
Imagine this game runs for 10 years.
Half of the original skykid players would be older, and half of the new players would be so young.
I know that skykids today would have players old enough to retire, and still be able to meet another player and have fun despite their real life circumstances.
Yeah, skykids have literally have the power to master and control the vibration in their vicinity thus create heat in the process. They have the ability to manipulate literal photons on a singular level.
Rest well
It was nice talking to you guys, that was fun. But i think we’re overthinking the lore way too
much
There’s also multiple sleeping emotes
One interesting thing is that the higher level “faint” emotes make it look like the Skykid is sleeping. They viewed the fainting spirit die and interpreted it as just them sleeping
Overthinking is the name of the game, baby!
Hey, I overthink a lot. Not that it's something that I particularly enjoy on a regular basis, but stuff like this gives me a creative outlet that I can certainly enjoy, and helps me dial it back on things irl that I can get caught up overthinking about.
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but sleeping doesn't technically require a brain or organs ! Flowers to, by loose definition, sleep at night !
Now THAT.... Is a Fun Fact.
Agreed.
It would be cool if and when spirits meet each other as ghosts, to see their reaction.
Almost like with Remembrance spirits seeing their loved one's memory.
To us skykids, those memories are just of another ancestor. For the spirits though, that was of their loved one they lost.
Back to traveling spirits, it is very nice to see them in the realms as a surprise. Just like the troupe greeter, cannonneer, crab whisperer and crouch.
I wonder if TGC might consider having the Home traveling spirit be different with their trades at a discount, while the others in the realms are standard rates.
Or, I fear that TGC might do away with Home TS visits in favour of scavenger hunts for TS's in the realms.
There’s nothing wrong with overanalyzing something you’re passionate about. As a matter of fact, i encourage it! It helps you critically think and view a situation in a brand new perspective you wouldn’t otherwise.
I like the idea of scavenger hunts tbh. Though it would need some work for group visits in larger areas. Maybe clues you could find and follow to find a TS.
I would have to disagree with this statement
Although plants do not sleep in the same way that humans do, they do have more and less active times and they have circadian rhythms—internal clocks that tell them when it is night and when it is day.
source: NASA
Well, i dont disagree with it entirely. Take jellyfish for example. They can “sleep” without a brain
(in case the bot wants to nuke a link)
Flowers have a natural clock and go through something we call nyctinasty, which is also sometimes called sleeping. When night falls, they close up their petals to protect themselves from the cold and rain ! So they don't technically sleep (which is why I added by loose definition), but we sometimes refer to it as sleep
My interpretation is that Skykids don’t sleep because they’re tired, they sleep because they’re bored
Oh i see, it’s more like a resting phase for them. That could be interesting, skykid’s don’t necessarily sleep like you and i, or any other mammals, but they do need to rest.
Fair argument, Baud XD
For example with one of the TSes in the current group visit, Crab Whisperer has several (I believe non-hostile?) crabs around them. And since you have to complete a Spirit and free the statue at least once in order to unlock them as a TS (I think that's how it works I don't completely remember), you would find some non-hostile crabs wandering around, approach and honk while having the Crab Call equipped and you would then follow them to Crab Whisperer.
If there had to be a Sky parody of a Disney film.
Crab Whisperer would make an epic Snow White.
Crab Whisperer and the 7 krebs.
Lightseekers cinematic universe
100%, someone did mention it before but scientists really don't know for sure why we as humans have to sleep, but we can for sure say the amount of sleep you get does impact your mental well being and overall health !
Skykids may or may not sleep like we do, it's really up for interpretation, but they absolutely do rest and there's a good few mechanics that prove that
Fainting Warrior = Sleeping Beauty
/j
Let’s hope Days of Sunlight returns for Lightseekers 6
I think thats a myth? I can be wrong. I think we usually sleep to recover mentally and physically. It is an effective way to relax your muscle and release tension as well as it help your brain process all the information you’ve learned throughout the day and store it into your long term memory.
It's not a myth ! Science still isn't sure about the purpose of sleep biologically, but there's plenty of theories and some facts about what happens with an abundance and absence of sleep !
You are correct with what it does help with 100% ! Which is why I do personally think skykids go into a sleep like state at the very least
I’m not well educated on the subject in hand therefore i’ll have to do more research on that in order to hive you a cohesive response. But i think scientist’s we’re still debating on purpose and essentiality of dreaming when we sleep.
During sleep, your body is working to support healthy brain function and maintain your physical health. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development. Getting inadequate sleep over time can raise your risk for chronic (long-term) health problems.
source: National Institute of Health.
TLDR when the body has to go into energy saver mode to do some maintenance.
This speedy research trip is what my art degree has amounted to so far. (- -)
LMAOOO
LOL i relate to that all too well
There's a lot of "what ifs" and questions about sleep, how it fully happens and why we need it more than other species. It's such a fascinating topic ! We know some basics about sleep, but there's so much more we don't know. 10/10 research topic if you like to research for fun
all of this and the bot did not once bring up sneep snorp jokes
(if you do it now, it would be a tad bit late. lol)
I do what I can to get an adequate amount of sleep.
The reason we need more sleep Isn’t it because our brain work at a whole different level than them. A human brain consume so much energy to maintain that the only way to properly nourish is to sleep.
The brain also sorts through memories and stuff while you’re asleep.
That’s where dreams come from!
If you’ve dreamt it you’ve seen something like it.
✨️the restorative theory✨️
hi so im new and interested on the lore, where i can read a recap for it or there is none
The pinned messages have a good chunk of things ! Sky lore can be a bit tricky, as TGC leaves a lot of things open ended and vague, so it isn't a concrete lore like some games !
There’s also a lore document that has some basic things
Could you send/link it? My wifi is acting up so I can't check if it's in pins😭
Here it is: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
And the pinned message is here: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Is there a lore connection pretaining to these crystals?
yes.
They are darkstone.
These are related to theories about them powering gates, boats and structures with mechanisms. They seem to make things float as well as can potentially contain memories.
They can change colour depending on their state. Blacl - unpowered, blue - powered (idle), gold - activated/charged, red - corrupted.
The seem to be connected to darkness as well given skykids grow crystals when darkened and hit with darkness, as well as in some cases can become corrupted (how that happens is uncertain as far as I know, though there are theories by users here that explore that concept).
You can find more of these strange crystals in various forms. Raw blueish rock/ore, crystals, as diamonds and even shards.
Thank you so much!!!
@native galleon here are some pics i got
ooo very nice
I wonder what that creature was on the bottom of abbys
We have way too many names for that guy, but some theorize it to be the corrupted outcome of the darkstone extraction experiments performed on other creatures.
I actually have come up with a theory with that, they took away the light of these light creatures hence why they have become corrupted, they were indeed extracting light from these light creatures and soon they have forgotten who they were and attack light on their sight
You know what? Honk you!
unlores your chat
(Why beaned?)
on the particular dancing spirit that we have on this season, (I have completely forgotten what is their name) I have noticed that this spirit has a prop of crystals, I absolutely do not have any idea what do they do, but it seems that they are collecting crystals and rocks maybe
Me and my friend were just having a random discussion with elders for each constellations.
My friend brought attention to the fact that eden has broken structures, and if there was an elder for eden
Yes, there was an Eden elder ! We don't know much about them aside from concept art and some vague mentions, but Eden did have an elder before the fall of Sky
Ohhhh, where can I find the concept art?
I feel like this paragraph describes the Eden elder best (with one of the concept arts !)
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Also this ! (Correction !! It relates to both the Prince and Elder) it's still interested to see all the connections still in-game and some more concept art
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Did the fall of wasteland happened before what is shown with the aurora concert?
Or the things that happened in the concert are not related at all in the story?
We aren't sure unfortunately. I've seen some people suggest the AURORA stories / songs take place during the war, and some before. It's all speculation atm
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questionss!!!

You're very welcome !! I enjoyed answering them
Has lore chat discussed the floating island revealed in last week's concept art drop? Just wondering if there's a consensus to what it might be
I think it would be connected to that gate in hidden forest, grandma’s rabbit hole, there’s a gate there that is not accessible, I think
That is a teaser for the new upcoming season 🙂
It looks like a hidden garden with a small stream going around it.
tgc confirmed it's an upcoming season sneak peak ?
200,000 Wishlists: Sneak Peek Concept Art
At this milestone, we’ll sneak into the Art Team’s desks I mean ask the Art Team to also share some of their latest concept art from their brainstorming work for upcoming content. It’s all stuff in early stages so will likely change a lot before ever making it to the live version of Sky, but it’s great for hypothesizing, taking OC inspiration, or wondering just what kind of shenanigans we get up to before something is ready for beta.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2325290/Sky_Children_of_the_Light/
TGC posted these images as they hit 200 k wishlists as a milestone for the steam release (PC version) of Sky.
These concept art are early works of "upcoming content".
I thought this could be just an upcoming season. But now that I checked to confirm, it could aslo be related to the Aviary Project.
There is one more image left, they would post it in a week so am excite.
TLDR: seeing fresh concept art is cool.
And TGC has confirmed that these are early version of what they have planned in the upcoming updates of the game. So, there is a chance these would be changed (or possibly scrapped) later on when it reaches the live game.
Which would be the season and/or Porject Aviary.
speaking of Aviary, I suspect the island art is related to the Aviary.
Because if you play around with the brightness and contrast sliders, you get a hint of what looks like the Aviary tower hidden in the mist. 🔍
Its hard to guess since I’ve played the real Aviary in Light Awaits and it was nothing like that.
Ah I see Fruitzee's request. will get that in a minute.
Based on the teaser for the project. One can hypothesize that Aviary would be different compared to its original state.
I just hope the few iconic parts of it that I have seen and heard people say about it would still exist in the update.
Here we are, @compact shale
It is a bit hard to see, though it is there.
I highlighted the outline that shows what I think are the aviary tower, and the portals behind it (including the Eden gate).
Again, this is part of the early concept art TGC has mentioned, but still love analysing the art to see what lore can be found in it.
i totally didn't notice the gates or the tower for that matter until you highlighted it,

My first theory is that it’s a concept art for Prophecy, given the
in the beginning and the cloudy atmosphere
However, the spirits don’t look like the Prophets at all
It might be an early concept for Aviary, but there’s 5 blue dots, implying 4 spirits and a guide. That probably won’t fit modern aviary
My guess is that it was an early concept art for home/aviary in which it was more mysterious, and there was a season involving it. But now, it’s changed
It could when the devs consider adding this area adjacent to the Aviary.
I wonder if Aviary would be added to an existing realm, be an extension of Home (something like a public hub area), or its own realm
Gameplay wise, it would probably be something like an extension of home that’s not unlocked immediately
It would be fun to have a public hub area, and Home possibly made like a space a skykid can settle in.
Imagine you being able to customise Home as your own space. And friends can either visit your version of Home, or you visit theirs.
One thought I had was that when you completed the seasonal quests for a season, you got decorations relating to the season for Home.
So you could make an Assembly treehouse, Performance stage, Dreams skating rink, etc.
Also, would be fun to have a place you can place down props without worry of them being bound to a shared space, or limited to just 1 or 2 props placed down at a time.
Lorewise, I am confident that skykids would leave their toys in places they deem their own living space.
In all honesty, all I want is a permanent ice rink
ooh, I love that.
Like a badge, or souvenir for completing the season that goes beyond a pendant, or cosmetic you can only wear one at a time.
Thankfully, winter is around the corner, just a few months away 🗓️
Isn't that symbol used to represent "the light" in general tho? Also TGC confirmed the concept art is for upcoming stuff
thinking of smt sky-botish to say
…
Are krills wales? Or fish?

(Im so bad at my self-i posed job
)
Krill are krill.
Could go with, "are Whales Tuna Kings, or just Big Fish?"
(thanks qwq (sorry for geting out of caharacter skyot)
Does anyone know what cultural references are used in Season of Passage?
It gives me Native American or pagan/druidic vibes. Idk, though, it's pretty generic
I've always thought that krills were shrimps😅
I'm not so sure about Native American, but I think it does take inspiration from European / Celtic beliefs
@compact shale
Yeah I’d say celt especially from the wooden masks
It might be a mix of many cultures from cold climates, such as Ainu, Native Canadian, and Siberian
Yeah especially with that one spirit in the full coat and glove fit
I like this thought, it does seem fitting from what I've learned !
There’s actually wall paintings in Eden about it’s elders or at least things that looked like elders
I would love to see how krills looked before they became corrupted. The game calls them Dragons sometimes.
Perhaps their original form was less shrimp like and more... Lizardy?
The creatures are canonically called Dark Dragons.
The name Krill is a fan nickname that stuck.
We currently have no confirmed clue of what (Light) Dragons in Sky looked like.
Majestic no doubt.
And they were probably also delicious, probably part of the reason we don't see normal ones.
damn, dragon meat...
I have not thought about that.
👀 the WHAT drop last week? Did I miss something? Is there a Link?
Dishonored and dragon maid flashbacks.
Omb, car flashbacks. Why you do this to me?
The other day i was relaxing at the top of the temple in prairie and saw the face that the little isles make. Now this concept art... Tgc needs to stop putting faces on maps.
you got Pareidolia ?
(tendency to see faces in things and places where there would typically be none)
Darn it, it's contagious!
I took a second look and see a face in the island concept art.
Reminds me of the garden scene in Coraline.
no.....
It is getting worse.
Ok, here is a challenge.
See if you can find a face on something that should have one.
The KING
I bid you the best of luck with this handsome devil.
It has two eyes. But it could also be a cracked mask.
But the map thing is real!
I saw others too, the person designing maps must be doing it intentionally.
👀
Regarding the new concept art bonus, the bottom left structure intrigued me, as if you oob into Isle elder, that's the structure we are standing on, and it's the shapes around the vault temple, and possibly other places, to me it looks like a dock, but could it be something else as well?
It’s definitely a dock to me
Wait, was it concept art for a past season or a future season?
I agree this is likely a boat dock.
One that looks like can hold 2-4 boats.
They didn't say, just concept
future.
"the Art Team to also share some of their latest concept art from their brainstorming work for upcoming content."
A little piece of concept art is hitting your feed today, in celebration of Sky hitting over 200k Wishlists on Steam 🎉 💫
Reminder that these are concepts only, and may not appear in the Live version of Sky ☁️
This week we bring you...
I guess it may be a concept for a new season, or by the spirits they have a look of the navigator from flight because of the goggles and chimesmith from the colors of the outfit
The second concept art has a map of the third concept art.
The third concept art also appears to have 6 spirits to collect(one is behind a wall close to the right pond)
It could potentially be art for a future season or maybe just general concept art. It could even be project aviary concept art since, it vaguely has portals and a tower resembling the old aviary.
I saw that, very cool image hunting
I have them saved
It could very well be aviary then, just with the iconic tower obscured
What if we discover aviary with a map given as part of a seasonal quest?
Also, if we are to believe these concepts are linked together, then this first one should go along with them too. And this shows buildings similar in function to those from the project aviary trailer.
Note the flag having a wardrobe shrine symbol on it, like the signs did on the buildings in the trailer.
It has been discussed earlier today.
There are 5 lights.
Assuming one of them is the guide, we may have 4 spirits this season.
They are certainly linked by the filename
Sketch23
SpiritConcept23
the darkened image helped confirm if these are actual lights, or an errand glow.
when darkned, the glow disappears while the other 5 persisted.
I've lost count, which season are we on numerically and have we passed 23 yet?
I make it 18, so tinfoil hat time, is this going to be in 5 seasons time?
Because the others aren’t obscured, the artists made them brighter. That one is behind a wall, so they added a tiny spot to show that there is another one you can’t see. This sort of blue spot isn’t seen anywhere else, the closest to it is from the other spirits, which are very similar colors.
This is the 19th season (18 technically, but rhythm was counted twice since it was light awaits, and then agian in the children of the light release)
So, the next season is the 20th
So possibly aviary in early 2025?

2024*
Maybe?
If not the event that takes place and the end of this year and kicks of the year along with the days of fortune getting the year of the Dragon.
Late '24 then?
Wonder if we’ll get dragon wings for that event.
Probably not since eastern dragons are big, long, cuddly noodles capable of immense destruction if compared proportionately to a noodle.
I... lost you.
Would TGC tease aviary, then wait a whole year to release it?
OMG the felicitous visitor parading around aviary and through the concept video streets would be 🔥
Wait, is it east or west?
AGHHHH!!!
I’m getting my world regions confused!!!!!!!
You remember the animation project teasers?
Possibly not for game stuff, but something this big possibly drum up all the hype
Then again, we have the animation project that has not seen an update or another teaser in ages 💀 (last update was 10 month ago on YouTube)
Tbh during Aurora, I'm pretty sure there were mentions of the design and stuff well over a year before the event happened, so I wouldn't be surprised if tgc haven't already been working on it for years
Eastern Dragon = Giant flying spiritual noodly bois.
Western Dragon = Fire breathing, bat winged reptile demons of hell
Eastern dragon = amazing stache
You know 3D animation takes a really long time, right?
Especially with figuring out the story, making assets, animating them properly, making sure everything’s good, etc. they take years.
Also the headdress and dance is that of a lion rather than dragon, I'm not sure if they ever saw a real lion, but then look at some western medieval drawings of lions and cats
Ok, thanks for the confirmation!!!
We saw a version of aviary that seemed to be quite complete in the teaser, my guess is that they’re still unsure on where to place it in the world and the tech/gameplay aspect
Draw me a lion..
Don't worry I got this bro..
Lions are pretty close to Asia.
oh I know.
I did a solo shortfilm in one year for a university art project.
I can imagine it would take a bit of time with the 4k quality in the details.
This is an indie game that has done digital art for the majority of the time.
Perhaps, they are waiting for the music, or some of the scriptwriting (or, maybe hear me out. Voice Acting /hj)
NOOOOOO!!!!
ITS A MAN FACED CAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
The voice acting is just a bell choir and some people with niche wood winds!/j
This music starts to play, everyone gets hyped
If I had to describe this channel:
It’s a bunch of furries trapped in Eden and/or Vault surrounded by a bunch of bobbit worms.
I like to think the felicious visitor was inspired by the Chinese dragon costumes and probs (speculation)
Notably the Dancing dragon (the fabirc snake like dragon puppeteered with rods/sticks). And the Lion Dance Dragon costume operated by two people.
We need that contrabassoon or the piece is ruined!
That is literally called Dragon Dance! 0.0
(am bobbing along to this still irl lol)
My speculation just stepped into theory territory 🙂
It’s not a piece, it’s a niche form of communication.
It’s known as a honk and is allergic to vocal chords.
Ah yes, sorry I was thinking of the headdress iap, even the song is called dragon dance
B O B B I T
Ok, I need to spend the last few hours of summer break doing other things
BYYYYYEEEEEE
Hey lorechat, since the third quest of the season has started, it's got me wondering if those crystals are in any way related to dark stone, or possibly are dark stone. In the mindful miners memory (if I remember correctly
) we see those crystals in the cave there too, and I think those were dark stone. If anyone could prove this or disprove it, id be very thankful
I think they are darkstone, since we also see it in the Mindful Miner memories
Is this the megabird?
What day have they been releasing the concept art? iirc they said we'll get one over the course of 4 weeks and I think we're on week 4 👀
They released 1 concept art for each week, for four weeks.
The 4th and final one should drop in a few days.
They did say that Beta testing for Project Aviary is "later this year" - Aurora started beta testing on August 25th so I'm guessing if this a new Season/Aviary maybe there'll be testing soon?
Aviary seems like it'll require a lot of testing though so I'm not sure if it'll be like a regular beta test period.
I wonder what we'll be getting next time since they all seem to be linked together #lore-discussion-spoilers message
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I have a question: is the eye of Eden a universe or a multiverse?
Because I would like to know the power of some characters like the king of light
Question about the lore:
What's the general consensus about the King of sky's lore?
The King cannot be saved. That is one thing that has been established back when Light Awaits changed to Children of the Light.
Which lead to Eden currently being the only realm without an elder.
They're also a handsome devil
you- XD
But what else can be said about him? I have seen so many videos about theorys on his lore and he has to be one of the most fascinating things in sky to me right now? Like I can see greed taking him over, but where is he? Is he trapped in the crystal or has his body been shattered beyond repair?
There's a nice compilation of their motifs here, #lore-discussion-spoilers message
once again, whenever i see a diamond even if it's outside of sky i go
them being greedy is only a theory, the only times weve seen them possibly is the figure in the prophecy murals with the small halo, the figure in the eden mural with the same halo (idk if its even a halo but that what reminds me of), they also appear as the last mural in the vault cutscene. Theres also the weird star shard ontop of the diamond in the last shard quest and the big wasteland statues but other than that thats it.
And because of the limited information we don't know their motives, personality, or goals. The ones about them being greedy and evil probably stem from old concept art where they played a more antagonistic role.
though i like to think they tried to help, with what im not sure but i like to think they had good intentions that ultimately failed
there also is the fallen star in ushering stargazers memory which could also be them, but thats more on speculating
isnt there some type of mural in eden itself, if i can i'll try and find it, i think it was recently added some months ago
ya thats the one im refering to
ooh
...............For pity's sake!
(lore got nuked!)
(not even King lore can be saved!)
raider i thought you were typing up a paragraph
Well is the general idea for eden that they were trying to build a super machine to take them to the kingdom in the stars? The one you see floating as you fly to be reborn? And that might be when he got corrupted because in the Nintendo trailer for the game it looks like the sky people are making thier way to eden?
These fine folk have got this.
I'll just drop the timeline concept art.
I was!
I was explaining everything.
I just hope this hella annoying delete without warning nonsense would be address someday in the server.
I refuse to retype everthing.
well we don't really know if the people in the boat are going to eden since we never see it. they seem to more be going to the isle temple based off the trailer.
The diamonds purpose is unknown but it could be related to light
Sorry to hear that, I usually copy my messages mid-type when I'm typing up something long - or I just pre-type it somewhere else and paste it
also misread this i thought you said you saw somebody said they could be greedy. Im not saying you cant consider that possible aspect. I was originally pointing out there's just too little information that's too disconnected from each other to really draw any solid conclusions on what they were like. But also that's what theories are for to begin with to explore the what if's
sometimes i like to imagine that sah and mekh literally took the cyan light and flung it down to battlefield hoping things will*resolve for itself
/hj
That is very good.
Learn from my foolish and stubborn mistakes.
So many theories have been lost in this chat by many users.
The bobbits have been eating good off the frustration and time loss to the message getting deleted for no reason (note, no reason or warning is given. The bot has its own annoying triggers that causes it to do that)
i like to think they have more involvement than that, but thats mainly from me seeing them being the other side in the war and creating the vortex based of alot of pointers
Scarier than a krill...
you know, this reminds me a lot of the story of babel where people were trying to build a massive tower to "heaven"
to be honest the twins creating the vortex is like the one theory i 100% believe happened cuz it has a lot of things point towards it being the case
Except the sky people were able to achieve something a lot closer XD
Also, another wierd question which is perfect to ask as Aurora is coming back for a bit:
What is Auroras contribution to the lore? Like her in herself rather than the stories she told in her season? Or was her character just there to to sing?
I like to think she's our actual creator of sorts... But that would put us a lawsuit away from being loreless.
To me she fits the role of a storyteller, solidifying alot of theories to be canon with her songs. I know alot of folks like to see her as a "goddess" but i personally don't see that cuz it wouldn't quite fit in sky, plus shes a real person and presents as herself ingame (and not as like a "skysona" or sorts) and it would kinda be weird to have a real human be a lore figurehead in a videogame.
Unless giant aurora is a work of lights and mirrors, she's quite godlike to me
yeah i can see the vibes, but to me its more like when concerts so elaborate things to excite the audience and all
Oh I'm agnostic on aurora too. But it would be hilarious and cool if we were actually her queendom.
Also, she's the first and last thing we hear in game, if sky ever reaches a conclusion, they need to either explain that somehow or leave it as just background noise.
Given the extensive collaboration with real life aurora, i like to believe she will serve a bigger role in the future.
Had this question a while just never asked, but is there any explanatipn on why valley has two elders?
For the drama idk /j
no concrete explaination, it could just be a "just because" situation
BUT there's the theory they could've originally been one but somehow became two. They are both missing one eye and have a prostetic arm on the same side missing their eye so they couldve been split somhow. But you also have the neat detail they're called "Elder Of the Valley" in Orbit instead of Elders. So it could also be them in a weird limbo of being one and two! They have their own personalities and even unique details to their own models so its not like their one consciousness in two bodies and are just carbon copies of one another.
For me i do think they can be connected somewhat in a head canon i have and its something both struggle with, but others have their own interpretation for how connected they can be
I keep seeing the elder of the valley bit and im always so confused by it cause babes that AINT math
i also found out a few weeks ago they're referred to as one elder in spanish too, and i know translations can be off but to me it points to that not being a fluke
also in orbit they have one light between them
yeah and its always been like that, so its not like it's a mispell by the dev's, also forgot to mention but even their staue gives the illusion they were split
thats super cool
but ya that would add to it!
i think its done intentionally, to make us question if they are one or two which i really like
if its to make us question it then mission accomplished lol
My thought stems from the original concept of the elder called a priestess and the Eden elder(s) (King and/or Sky Prince).
What if (aside from the surprise of the elders being twins because it would be more interesting), the elders represent the divide that the realm faced.
Branching on to a different theory that each elder reflects the status/state of their realms.
The valley is where the future splits into 2 possibilities (the good/bad future. Or the peace/war timeline).
The upper and lower class. The ancestors siding with the darkstone diamonds, or the Light. The impication of there being a King, and/or a Sky Prince.
The dualities were so prominent, the elders became diveded themselves and became the twins. Which in turn also reflected the competitive nature of the realm.
I see the valley twins as kind of two people split from the same light, think of it as that one scene from tinkerbell in the winter season or wtv
I think they were always like that tho, it's possible they split from one star in the very beginning or something but the prophecy murals show them both and that's supposed to be like ancient
oo yaya same here, like for me i originally see them being split yet they didnt properly finish doing it which would explain their missing eye and arm
That does make a bit of sense in the lore tbh
maybe in a thousand years when tgc finally does a season about the elders we'll know somewhat💀
Id kill for a season involving thr elders.
yes like! i thought about it! just take the spirits that season be assistances or helpers in each respective temple with our job to help and try to restore some parts of the temple, and sprinkle some memory quests with some backflashes and you have elder content. Spirit memories like with remembrance can show they can happen anytime, think of bereft veteran watching their child grow up so they can go very far back.
like a new room in each temple for each quest/flackback to be in. I would think apprentices would work for the spirits better but flightguide was already introduced as
's apprentice
i was literally just about to mention the apprentices! also i want to know what's behind those doors in forest and wasteland temple especially
||well, empty rooms right now if you oob in there, but they could add something||

Speaking of apprentices #news message
Hope this is still current
Bro you just inspired me so hard. So the theory is as follows
Many of us suspect trials are a prophecy themselves. I imagine it as water being pre-civilisation times, earth as the realms being built, air as ascent to greatness and fire as fall into darkness. What if - hear me out - the changing water level in water was very much literal?
The early kingdom was dominated by extreme tides. Back then all the realms were still mostly at ground/ocean level, making this fact a big engineering obstacle
Which was why ancestors couldn't properly settle in isle until much later and why they show distress in concert runaway since they're running away from the tide, why there are such high towers in early valley in concert warrior of love, why shipwreck is basically on land
I suspect creatures like mantas and whales live this kind of amphibian lifestyle because it was perfectly fir for the changing environment. It was also the reason fir graveyard's weird landscape - it was to an extent just ocean floor
we don’t know the trials are prophecies, it’s a theory but not confirmed, and the theory revolves around them not being literal prophecies at all but heavily steeped in metaphor
I don't know why I keep going back to this trailer, but it looks like they're traveling to Isle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBQRCHusYyU there's a ton of landmasses we see there that could've been flooded #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I’m not trying to discredit your theory I just wanted to point that out because I think there might have been a bit of a communication breakdown when someone was telling you about the trials are prophecies theory and it being a theory (& not known fact) to begin with
And notice how most of the temples are placed at an elevation. They'd usually serve as protection during the high tide. Exceptions are valley, likely all of which was already on an elevation or surrounded by mountains, as well as wasteland which seems to have been to a great extent a marine realm, but tbh i don't really get wasteland so idk
Fair point. Check the edit in the original message
But to respond to this, i see some similarities in a more literal sense and them representing pretty real things. I suspect water depicted the travel of ancestors between landmasses before arriving at isle and possibly learning to use boats (not sure if just the floating ones or in general), earth being about building infrastructure, connecting realms and mastering masonery (the central building might be connected with temples, forest architecture or valley), air being everything after the prince is born with the ascent up the mountain - notice the air summit being shaped not unlike the eden temple - and fire being basically the things when and after the eden diamond shattered
I really love this part of the abyys quest
Do you think Home was an important place for the early Ancestors, and then slowly became nothing more than an island after the flooding?
My interpretation is that most of the temples weren't even built by the time of the flooding. It would probably predate even Prophecy and the Animation Trailer for a few years at least
They really need a sequel for this season cause we can't just leave that creature down there
I think at the end of the season it was "sealed" in a way
I'm not sure what was the role of home, assuming home us canon. We don't see any social spaces in aurora concert despite being in the locations wher they should be, and home's main purpose is essentially to transport us to social spaces. In terms of its existence on the map, we should remember that office is also on the map. Imo home could have signifficance but the evidence isn't compelling, so my best bet us that it's not canon
We don't see the social spaces in the Aurora concert because they're in different parts of the realm. The Valley portion is probably either the end of the realm or sliding race, and the Wasteland social space would be far away since we're only in the Battlefield part
I have a theory on how Home was also the descending spot for ancestors as well as Skykids.
Also, office is explicitly an easter egg and portrayed as such, just because home is gameplay convenient doesn't mean it's useless for the lore
Sequel: It figured out how to fly
Imo temples might have been built in response to flooding, at least some of them. As i said, i don't think it was an event that happened once, but that it was regular tides that flooded large areas of land, which was why temples were built at much higher elevation, and why there's a deliberately established. reasonable way of transportation to most of them for ppl who don't have wings - boats, mantas, jellyfish. Valley was pretty much exempt from tides it seems, maybe due to mountain ranges, while for wasteland the entire battlefield was at a higher elevation, while graveyard and shipwreck might have been something of an estuary
In warrior of love we see the characteristic rock formations that seem to be the same as the ones in the slope leading to the ice rink, while in seed before we go to the battlefield, we do see the vortex. From there, the social soace should be visible. They either weren't there at all, or they had been built later in the timeline
But in the seed, the vortex was right above battlefield, so there might have been more than one
Hm, fair point. Just feels a bit weird for it to be a coincidence
The vortex in the social space seems to be from a storm, while the vortex in battlefield probably came from the teal light that was "punching" through the clouds
In fact in the season of enchantment we see the same thing, where the same teal light was used to make a hole in the clouds
Possibly both could habe been formed by colour lights? Also, to me the one in concert seemed light blue to me, while cyan had a green tint
I think they're one and the same, given they both did the same thing
Do we see the moment of the cyclone being created in the concert?
we do we one formed but not the one in the social space
Do you guys think the ancestors were either silent or they could speak?
The Whisperers certainly weren't silent...
That is an interesting question.
I can see one can argue they do but the game does not show it.
As well as one can also argue they dont but skykids still understand them in some way.
Either case, there is a valid point that there has to be some form of communication in the game. But one that is not immediately obvious such as text or speech, let alone with gestures or symbols.
Supposedly this may be part of the "lore is open to interpretation" statement. although there would be theorists here that wouldn't agree with this. Which is understandable, especially with their own theory to suggest why not.
My own personal thought is that spirits and Skykids communicate through their own world's version of sign language !
Real sign language is obviously used with our hands, and is a vast language with multiple languages variations.
What does Sky have? Emotes.
Spirits, guides, and skykids all use emotes to communicate and express emotions. We as the player see the instructions as words on the screen, but our skykids don't. They simply understand the emotes used and the tones of them !
I do think a form of speech exists in sky, and of course it's honking ! I personally believe that honk's are more a way to get someone's attention, sort of in the same vain as stomping / hitting your foot on the ground to get a deaf person's attention !
I do think Skykids can hear, they probably have amazing hearing. But I don't think they're capable of human speech
I also think different honks are like accents
(is so beutifull.... im not rying, sky bobt is!)

MANTAS EAT MEAT???
Don't they eat fish
you have been here longer than me!
I MEAN, PROBABLY BUT WHYD THAT SO DISTURBING TO THINK ABOUT. IT MEANS THEY HAVE TEETH.
For context.
The Skybot has been known to drop red herrings, jokes, some lore beans (actual facts), as well as eat user's questionable theories here.
Folks here have been making fun with, and of, the bot for the majority of the time I have seen in the lorechat (3 years).
Rven its its not actual lore its terrifying cause it implies that manta have teeth 😭😭
(Thanks for finally someone claryfying what i am supossed to do)
And i was running far away from the moths, would i run off eden some day? No body knows, no body knows!
(Aurora reference)
and also, 0.0
Even worse, it implies they have sharp teeth. Carnivores have sharp teeth. 😭😭😭
looking at something
The design of mantas in Sky seem to be inspired by manta rays.
The real life manta rays have what is called a tooth band. They don't do much as they are planton eaters (filter feeders).
The worst a Sky manta can do to a skykid is pick them up and carry them off.
I would not go as far as to say mantas canonically want to help skykids reach Eden through the temples. Since this could be chalked up as a game mechanic.
I dont have the image on hand. But in game mantas (mostly the bigger ones) have a mouth on the underside of their fronts.
Im laughing so hard at a manta picking up a sky kid to carry them off.
Vet: "This is a moth"
Moth: ∗Honk∗
.
.

Vet: "No! My Moth!"
Moth: "Bestie, Help!"
They don’t exactly have teeth but more have these things called gill rakes. Think of them as filter feeds like with humpback whales, but they can eat small fish but perfer plankton
So technically mantas arnet beget cuz they do eat fish, but they’re also not like full on carnivores
Though I imagine in the sky world they would eat slightly bigger things. In warrior or loves quest in beta the manta ray they feed was originally gonna be fish but it was sadly changed
I personally believe that the Mantas actively enjoy skidnapping us and taking us places. It's fun for them and is also how they 'exercise'. They don't really understand that sometimes we don't actually want to go with them, they just see us and think 'Play!'
was warrior of love ever kidnapeed by mantas?
not unless they had a tasty treat.
InTERESTING out of manta!
I’m pretty sure a Sky dev said that teeth can never, ever be canon in the Sky universe
That is unironically calmong to know
Imagine you look at a krill headon and they just rows of teeth 😭😭
Was curious to see when this was posted and the message seems to be missing ._.
Wait so like, what are these then?
Those look like teeth to me
Side view too
Alright.
It may be best to move on to other things.
Because:
A) Teeth in this channel has led to uncomfortable conversations in the past.
B) It is a dead end topic given there are debates on whether skykids and ancestors have mouths, let alone teeth.
C) The Abyss leviathan is a unique creature in the game.
Curious.
So far, the latest season spirit that has came to us as traveling spirits are season of Flight Abyss, correct?
Supposedly a spirit from season of Shattering comes, I wonder what it would look like?
Would one think they would arrive as a sprite like the ones we find for spirit memories?
Would they be a shard fragment?
Or an animal spirit?
If they would somehow be an ancestor, would they have a more lore to give?
Also, how would we unlock their trades as a skykid after the season ended?
Would they need to complete the season quests?
So far, the latest season spirit that has came to us as traveling spirits are season of Flight, correct?
Abyss now
also wondered about this since that just means we’re getting even closer
Ah, true!
While they did not visit as a traditional traveling spirit, they still count.
thank you liv
the groups seem to break the ts rules a bit but they still count! like how baffled botanist came twice in about 2 months with the first group
and i’m glad they did bc the first time i didn’t even know about the wing buffs yet
Naturally growing spiky Pop Rocks of course. If you were one of the biggest and coolest creatures in the Sky world would you not want to have tasty Pop Rocks available to you at all times?
ah yes. Wing buffs Good.
Wing buff make skykid strong
actually…dark creatures having black shards for teeth would be pretty sick ngl
Every time they get a toothache you can just go up and burn it and bam, free 20 candles :D
It would be cool if Shattering had a different way for skykids to access their memories.
I was honestly hoping there would be a secret shrine you would find in the realms. And if you completed all of the quests, you are rewarded with visiting each room.
If there had to be a limitation then have the rooms be random.
The shard events are interesting, but the season certainly felt like an experiment the devs wanted to try out.
Mind you, the experiment was interesting. And presume some of the resources for that season were diverted to the banger of a season, Aurora.
Eh, maybe
I still love Shattering though
U ironically i think they are and i also think capes are scaled. The way the recahrge, its always in scale patterns,
this here suggest that skykid capes are based off creatures.
Their feathery/scaly pattern that shimmers while charged up with Light.
Lore within the lore discussion...
Why would teeth enrage the masses?
We may never find out.
Inb4 a toothbrush is found in game.
may I dm you?
I need answers!
Wait so those are canon? I thought those were fanmade illustrations for theories,,
Or atleast semi canon, like beta.
Thank you bot for not nuking my message.
I have to retype it though.
Still, am Very grateful for that

There is a bit of a debate between canon and semi-canon for 2 major reasons.
1 - This was concept art by Tom Zhao back when the game was in development and called Light Awaits (2017-2019).
2 - Concept art tend to vary from the final product in Sky. Especially if it were to be early concept art such as the latest ones TGC posted on Facebook for 'upcoming content' (ex. new season and/or aviary).
I like to look to these for guidance on where TGC was heading with the lore.
Since this is Light Awaits versus Children of the Light, there is always a chance these may have been scrapped or changed in later updates.
One good example would be the King's role in the plot during the concept art phase, that became less prominent in the updates during development, and their absence in the game today.
ah, there we are.
@empty belfry
My educated guess is the if skykid's capes being like light creature's scaly/feathery pattern is very likely canon (although in theory).
Given we still see the pattern on our capes in the game. As well as with the manta spirit in season of Shattering gave use a very manta-like cape.
I like to think skykids have such a good bond with the spirits they meet. So much so that theycan inherit the cosmetics and pieces of their appearance.
Almost like a reflection of the spirits they relate to so strongly.
Hence the Light in their capes would imitate the texture and appearance of these cosmetics.
(ah, think I found the trigger word. Hope this is fixed.)
I would not think skykid capes are made of mantas, but instead skykid capes are made of the same source of Light that also make up Mantas.
Something one could poetically say are "cut from the same cloth"
(yay. Now this is much better. Thank you mods for this change.)
(am now done, sorry for the hassle, Pitcher)
True. I imagine the capes arent exactly(or atleat the base capes) smooth materials and have some form of scale texture to them, which bonds them closer to the nature of sky since their capes manifest out of light(i think) not the pure light skids are made from but something similar.
The way i see skids is that their physical form is an extension of theearth and what they truly are is just pure light and their capes are somewhere in the middle of that
They are canonically hybrids.
A hybrid of Light and Darkness. Of creature and human. Of alive and death.
One could also say the elements as well.
Earth for their body, Air because of their flight, Fire because of their flame, Water becuase of... their...
Ok, that got me blanking out.
I am not sure to be honest how that one is factored in...
Because... They can swim??
Because they are genderfluid? /hj
I love the genderfluid comment
I think that sky kids initially lacked the blue light till it was granted to them by the abyss ghost manta.
Yeah! The water is for them to be able to swim
Hot take of the day:
I like to think that the quest guide used to be a wandering photographer who felt like they didn't have purpose in life. On his travels, he met the other spirits and told them their stories.
In his final moments, he thought about them and wanted to capture their companions' moments: the stories that impacted him.
There he realized that in these little moments, there was meaning in living.
And I continue this thought by saying that skids "born" after abyss have this light innately
Its like previous skids have unlocked this ability and the new skids just inherit it.. via megabird perhaps?
AHH i forgor to turn ping off
I'm a diamond, I pushed my extreme already, but it didn't work well
Probably I'm the diamond of hatred
Faded memories become teeth of monster creature!?
The skids will be happy when I take them to my secret area
I imagine it as the void of shattering (Hi Void_of_Shattering!) Coming to the ts pond and it would tp us to the void of shattering area
There we will see the four ancient memories but only one of them would have their tree unlocked
Its like how aurora spirits are there but their trees are locked
Since they dont need to be relived and dont need a seasonal quest for the area to be unlocked... I dont think you need to do seasonal quests?
Ping me all you like, unless I don’t wanna be pinged.
But you won’t know when that is!/j
wanna grab purple orb, but don't have hands to grab
The eyes of brilliant violet hues grasp for your attention
I brought snacks!!!

hey lore chat
what do the skykids even.. expect when they get to the big angry crystal in the eye of eden? What do they think theyll do? Or is it more of a 'gotta keep going to the light, ill know what to do when i get there'
Do I look so angry? I just vomit all my memories away!
i wonder if it is instinct. like a moth to a flame, maybe.
food for thought
They might go to that big castle
I'm the Eden diamond, yes the crystal you think I'm angry
heello fellow inanimate object!
Like to think to help free the other statues trapped there, aka other skykids. Since that’s the main purpose of going there, why we collect winged light to give and sacrifice ourselves when we run out and also turn into a statue
Could be a cycle of self sacrifice to help everyone ascend and not become stuck
I mainly think this because it’s my reasoning for the hug scene pre ascent. The grey kid being us and the light kid being the winged light given to another skykid who got to us
i actually like that idea, like. that cutscene is just your skid being rescued like you rescued all the others? i never considered that. but it makes a lot of sense
Are skykids clay?
Probably the king / the prince, I remember I swallowed them
i hc them as like.. creatures made of stone, hollow with light inside of em
Yaya that’s mainly why I love it so much! I feel it fits well into the game too
LOOK FAM
Its not that deep!

🌊🌊🌊🌊
Same here, for me I also have like a little starlight headcannon to go along with it since it reflects on the trailer
masks are actually their face, not masks. they can take off their face like a lego piece to swap out if they want cause theyre made of stone
(help idk how long until he commmes back but skybot has me kidna-static sound)
Never thought of that way but i like that
, we do have the maskless cosmetic but that could still work
the ancestors were fleshy and ik they did have actual faces under their stone masks, but skykids seem to be all stone
Oo i go back and fourth for that, like mainly from wounded warriors eye I like to think they’re kinda made of a crystal flesh hybrid somewhat
another hc is ancestors are light AND dark creatures, a perfect balance of both. hence why when they die theyre not radiant eyebleed like skids or mantas, but starry instead
I’ve that of that for crabs and krill too
becoming corrupted because there’s an imbalance of darkness and all
and yk wounded warrior was attacked by other ancestors so theyre not all perfect little light creatures of friendship like skids are
Ya i feel ancestors are more of a reflection of our society in a way. Mainly from the environmental teaching the game has sprinkled around
that whole thing with rememberance?? like. whats up with that. why are there soldiers, some kind of hostile occupation? invasion?
The season focuses on refugees from the war seen in wasteland, basically follows the spirits from differnt backgrounds, and they are even confirmed to be refugees in the announcement for the season if I’m right
huh. refugees from the mountain that became eden, methinks? But why are they being attacked? are they the princes forces or smth?
I think more of refugees from wasteland with vault acting as a shelter, for the reason of the war there’s no clear anwser where it more devolves into speculation
thats fair.
off topic a bit, in the season of abyss, the angler sees a krill just.... chillin in the water? cruising on by?
so they may have lived in this time of war n strife and all, with the rest of their crew
season of abyss is attached to Wasteland, so it stands to reason a war machine would get a bit lost sometimes
but that does NOT explain any of the krill or the megakrill in the temple underwater. is it some kind of secret dark creature factory for the war in wastes?
I’ve thought about that, personally I feel they where ones who fled home and have been scavenging ever since. Even now when they’re spirits they’re still scavenging seen in the wuests
They could’ve been captured, since in one of the abyss murals it shows a large creature seeming to try and destroy the facility. Could’ve been captured to study too if it’s related to corruption to try and see why it’s happening
thats true, but it also had mantas in cages as well. wonder what they were studying?
(come to think of it, i dont think dark mantas exist. weird exception)
Ooh based on some other murals and other things I game I think it’s confirmed they’re draining manta light to use in what alot like to call darkstone/powerdiamonds. Basically sky’s version of a power source (I can try to find the mural hold on)
Ya here, on the left you can see mantas on various sizes in some sort on platform and the right you can see diamonds on the opossing side
Forests temple also has trapped mantas which we free after the cutscene. There’s also warrior of loves section in the concert which is capturing mantas so it’s a common occursnce
Also think abyss area was a refinery because there’s also mine carts in the other area aswell
And the process is sad but it’s also a common thing that happens irl too. Animals are used for products, depending on what they can even be killed in the name of of finishing the product. Like unless there’s a viable alternative for everything involving animals it won’t go away anytime soon.
But there are ways to not overconsume to keep population and the balance in check, personally I don’t think the sky kingdom really followed up on that
at least it seems mantas are fine nowadays. theyre practically everywhere
Yaya but I also think they could grow again since the entire ancestor population is dead and isint capturing them anymore
Not trying to paint ancestors as merciless manta hunters, they were just collecting the resource to keep up production for a much more important resource which was not integrated into their daily lives
i always thought that big thing at the bottom of the mural was a Whale (as in sanctuary whale not salmon whale)
the same one that got corrupted into megakrill
I can kinda see that ya
adding to this, darkstone isn’t just an allegory for animal products, there are also parallels to fossil fuels/plastic, nuclear energy, almost any environmentally harmful industry that exists irl
They picked the climate change protest song for the aurora quests for a reason, and it wasn’t just that it’s one of her more well known songs
when my friend and i first found the big crystal in prairie peaks i said something about it and she went “this was their petroleum” and i was like YES EXACTLY
How do i know which ts will come, do they give hint ot something ?
I know aug 17- aug 20 Lively Navigator spirit will come but can we guess before they told?
I was thinking the manta's got experimented on to be more powerful source of fuel
Eventually, the light got drained... Fed by corruption, became the krills we know today.
The hints given by Ash in gen chat are usually just for fun and are very rarely pointers on what the actual TS will be (aka it’s near impossible to tell which TS will be next. Only clear thing is that they wouldn’t repeat a TS from the same season so close together)
Like some hints can actually act as hint, but most times they’re funfacts like: this spirit likes to grill or drink tea or something
ok i wrote a whole thing and then accidentally deleted it but here it is again
This is why I don’t like the idea that the harmful practices of the industry were just a big secret, and if the ancestors only knew what they were doing to those poor mantas, they’d all revolt and shut it down immediately. Because that’s not how it works in real life. Harmful practices are normalized when the good is perceived to outweigh the bad. It’s only after the damage is done that we realize the effects, and even then it’s an uphill battle to make any meaningful change.
Sometimes I look at the ways that they used power diamonds in game and think it’s frivolous and excessive, like the remembrance windchime or the instruments or (squints) jewelry?? but then i remember just how much oil/plastic is in all my stuff and what I ate recently, and that’s the point. To get you to think about it. Not to blame people for, yknow, participating in society, but to push people to reflect on their consumption and consider what is necessary.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk that nobody asked for
I should go to bed
Guys is it possible to "make up" words for the spirit's language? I think the devs have mentioned learning certain languages and trying to connect spirits with that language. I dont know, im just writing a fic and if certain spirits say things i make up the word.
For example
matai - big sister
meku - little brother
Is that fine?
i mean theres nobody stopping you, but it might be a little confusing if its not clarified on what the words translate too before reading
ya i also dont think it was a secret, i do think there would be some push in the beginning, but as it slowly became more inegrated it eventual just became a grim fact to deal with
like darkstone would have heavily changed ancestors quality of life for a better, thats not something you can take away after showing the possibilities
Yeah i put it in the notes before the chapter starts if thats what u meant
ya then id say go for it, theres no canon language used ingame so do what you want
OH WAIT REALLY 🤔
This whole time i actually did think the spirits had a set language
yeah, like i THINK there was some attempt at a written language in very early concepts, and ive seen some artists use it but its mainly them just making up what some of the language letters would be and not taken from an offical sheet
but in the live game so far theres no ancestor version of an alphabet
I told you peeps, mantas must be delicious.
Ohh okeoke😗 thanks btw
So, after viewing orbit I had a realisation. I've read Dante's Paradiso, which is about Dante's ascension to heaven, which resides in space. They go from planet to planet, joined by angels and souls each layer.
At the very end, they pass constellations, and the darkness of space, to arrive at the 10th layer. It's described as a "Snow White Rose" of angels and souls circling and incredibly bright light. It's incredibly beautiful. The illustration attached.
"Their faces had they all of living flame,
and wings of gold, and all the rest so white."
We see the final shot of orbit, where we approach a similar light with all the children surrounding it. I'm not saying Sky is Christian, the spirits and creatures have their own spirituality. But it's incredibly beautiful how they mirror one another as a description of the afterlife and of heaven. I don't know if this was purposeful or not, but if it wasn't, that would be even crazier.
And regarding Megabird. All sky children and creatures come and go from her, which means they themselves are Megabird in some capacity. A spark of the divine resides in them, their life flame. It's beautiful because shes not just a thing sitting up there in the sky, she's an ever present force of creation. I love the fact that they don't die...they ascend and are reborn again. It's just...it's lovely. Orbit is my favourite part of the game, it feels like going home.
The image here isn't good but the final moments of orbit you can see the white rose
Here's a better one
We never see them communicate except through narration and sign language
Yeah
Thanks for pointing that out 👍
Can we drop theories in here or nah
Yes
well actually i wanna add onto this. They can make noises, like with the forgetful storyteller, to tell elaborate stories. But the sounds are usually from the light creatures like mantas and whales, and with a lot of hand and body movement
some kinda language is there for sure
and ofc the gestures they make come with sounds of their own, maybe thats also 'words'?
The spirits have writing don't they? Like with the symbols on the vault elder mask (and one of the spirit's mask) So maybe they have a written language and the sounds as the spoken part? Idk just guessing
i cant tell if any of the other spirits "speak" besides the ones that give us other honks/voices aside from moth honk
idk if the prince spirits would count but those are the only ones who i think have speaking roles
are the valley elders siblings and is there confirmed info? cause i kinda used to ship them until someone told me they're siblings 😭
They’re referred to in the singular despite being two
They're collab spirits based on book characters, so you could count them if you personally feel that spirits have the ability to speak ! But I personally don't think spirits or skykids speak, since the only spirits we see that directly speak to us are from collaborations. I do have my own thoughts on language in Sky, I don't wanna retype it so here's mine✨️ #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Confirmed twins by ash
Plus they’re physical details like both missing an eye and arm (replaced by a prosthetic) on each side also implies they possibly split yet wasn’t properly done
They both have the same name in concept art as well, and are sometimes referred to as one Elder👀
Yaya that’s fair! For me I feel they can speak, but for sky’s way of doing things we’ve just gotten used to not having actual dialogue
Yeah I find that cool too, like they’re twins but are also seen as one being sometimes which is really cool! Probably related to them seeming to be split and all in a way
I think it's so cool as well, I hope they go a bit deeper into it one day...Season of Elders whennnn
Yeahh!! Like they do have their own personalities also so it’s not like uts one consciousness sharing two bodies, their their own person
OK GUYS hear me out… WHAT IF…. the Forgotten Ark didn’t have fireworks as a weapon but as a celebration tool for after the war was to end? Like what if they just had the hope that it would end and they could celebrate and use the boat as a means of transporting just for funsies OR OR to continue traveling further towards the goal?
ALSOOO what if when the elders put the light we give them into the sky it’s an offering to megabird :O bc that’s where the light seems to go and come from
barging in to say technically forgetful storyteller is saying words, we just cant see them
Season of Elders if it came out on April 1st: we just go to a nursing home and see a bunch of "normal" elderly spirits. The quests are playing Bingo and Shuffleboard with the spirits, bringing medicine around to spirits, ||helping to find and calm down spirits with memory issues (ex: dementia and alzheimers), hospice care, and the final quest being escorting families of some of the senior spirits to them with the final cutscene having to do with terminal lucidity as they see their families one last time||.
A way to misdirect and prank the players with the name of the season? Check ✅
Still being tragic and heartfelt in a way and all that stuff? Check ✅
(props: bedpan and IV drip thing)
If they did have a season with those themes, I'd take a full hiatus the entire season😭😭
(location: portal to the nursing home that is located in the area in vault with the spirit/cape gate that leads to the ||office portal|| - before the gate but in the area where you see it - so it doesn't need to somehow fit the canonical lore of sky)
AND AND what if eden was a safe space at the begining, not just a power source but also the land that leads to the sky and essentially megabird? But when the war started and they began to industrialize the eye and around it megabird had to create a way to keep them from disrupting the light that let them ascend and that’s what it meant by “if only they had listened”? As in listened to the warnings of shattered shards and things coming down into Eden and they didn’t stop so eventually eden became what it Is now? Idk just a thought 👀 lmk if I’m ahead of myself I’m just getting into the lore today and so many theories are popping up in my head lmk if they’ve already been thought of AND please correct me if something doesn’t add up
I honestly don’t think an elder based season would be called that
W Shattering reference
It seems to line up
It would be cool if a Season started off saying
New rooms have opened in the Elders' Temples. Seek them out.
Because they seem bigger than they are on the inside, but I don't know about Dawn's
All of the elders were actually just nurses. The sky prince/king was the seventh nurse but was fired when they were caught embezzling funds or experimenting on patients or something.
"This was meant purely as a joke. I don't think this would actually be a good idea. I shouldn't be wasting time on this," I say as I come up with more cosmetic ideas:
Pants: white hospital gown and that blue surgery gown the surgeons wear.
Mask: facemask that's more like the disposable medical ones than the ones the enchantment masks and that one prairie spirit's mask are based on, clear respirator that's based on the hospital ones instead of the diving ones, that nose plug like thing.
Hair: ...wait, skykids already have white hair...
Regarding the part about Eden not always having been like it is now: Yep, this is the case basically. The giant power diamond absorbing the Eden beam is the cause of the storm, not the Eden beam itself. Originally it was where creatures and spirits went to ascend before the crystal kind of ruined that.
Though, the part about the shard events having been warnings is a bit odd, as it's meant to be fragments of the Eden crystal which is what caused the storm. So it'd be like warning a bomb defusal person that they need to defuse a bomb once it's already blown up. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what your saying lol. But then again, nothing is really confirmed and it is technically possible that the crystal was originally part of beam and just became unstable, sending out shards before it was passed help and after as well.
I can also see why it would look like that to someone in game. Sky lore does kind of suffer from uncertainty because of the whole "show not tell" thing, I do think also benefits from this tho.
I will say, good job with your extrapolation! 👍
Oooo yeah you’re right you’re right thank you
Emote:
Bringing a hand closer to your face and your face closer to that hand and squinting if wearing a mask with eyes (based on near sight and general sight difficulties that get more common with age)
Stance:
Walking and seemingly putting weight on a pillar made of light that we hold (based on walking with a cane).
Okay, i think I'm out of ideas for this now.
I've seen a couple people call the idea Season of Elders, so that's why I call it that !
Hey! Sorry for disturbing, I'm kind of new to the community and I am doing an infographic of sky but they ask me for reliable sources and idk if there is like an official site for sky's lore, can anybody help me?
The closest thing would be the pinned messages and this document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
what if Eden was a kingdom and have been just corrupted because of the crystal and the king or now it is called the Eden elder’s greed for power
Oh ok! I'm gonna check them, thank you so much ❤️
we can see right before we ascend are structures, broken structures, and creatures after we have given that child a hug
There’s also creatures that appear in the order of when they appear in the main game
what if the light creatures were only there to guide the sky kids and send them to wherever they are supposed to be going, to ascend
What about the other way around, Skykids help the light creatures
how?
Such as making the jellyfish rise, or freeing the mantas
good point
I have noticed that there were very big pipes in eden, huge pipes, I wonder what are they making in there, must have been dark water, there was a little bit of dark water spilled in the pipes
were they exporting dark water or importing in eden?
I have noticed it as well in wasteland, there were very big pipes, I wonder if it gone out to the sea making it toxic to light creatures, such as sky kids, there were pipes as well in the forest, I wonder what was the dark water before it began to be toxic, was it just a normal and ordinary type of water?
I have just noticed that where there are pipes, there are dark water scattered everywhere, making it very toxic
im looking through details after details, i couldnt come up with something why do they need the water or pipes for, is it to create something, to generate something to keep on going
I meant the light creatures were helping the sky kid ascend and find their way through those lands
I also think Skykids are doing the same thing to the light creatures, we see them ascending as well
do you have any theories about the pipe
Folks.
We have a confirmed name for the sky puppies (fan nickname).
"...the manatees in Prairie Peaks."
Make of this as you wish.
source: the recent patch notes for the upcoming Aurora concert, Days of Summer and Days of Style.
I always called them manatees....I didn't know we didn't know they were manatees😭😭😭
Silently waiting for that final piece of concept art to drop
Is anybody know the theory about that island?
That the island at home?
Ya
If so, it holds an interesting secret.
Behind it there is a mural.
This mural used to be the opening cut scene that would play for moths for their first time arriving at home.
Oh I ever saw that.. But already deleted the ss I take.. Do you have one?..
OOB by Kakdamba: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mn-C7xCbVAQ
Opening Cutscene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dNShWJ0jiY&t=104s
Getting there is a bit tricky (you will see why in the example video).
I have not been able to see this in person, but it is an interesting little find.
I once go there.. Soo windyy.. I just curious about that island theory..
This one too.. Do you know the theory?..
Game wise, it is a sneaky way the devs hide certain assets in the game.
Lore wise, leaning on the 'lore is open to interpretation' idea a bit.
I like to imagine this may imply there are more islands and places in the realms skykids are yet able to explore (in the game)
This is in the caves that were added in Season of Belonging.
I may not have the full story, sadly. But apparently there were plans to have a room in there at one point (roughly around September/October 2018/2019. Have to look it up again to be sure).
This room aparantly was a place where you find a boat and a few jars. Not sure if it was possibly a room that would be related to a season quest, or another detail of the area. But it not long after the idea was scrapped in beta/development and the room was left in the dark.
The switch that would have activated the gate was covered in rubble and the lights were left off.
I think this is was possibly left like this in case the devs wanted to revisit and update the area in the future.
You can still see the remnants of the room by going OOB (unless they changed it in recent updates).
The boat is still there, albeit fragmented and parts of it are invisible (you can still stand on parts of it). Along with some floating parts that could have been jars.
These sit just beyond the room, floating Out of Bounds.
Last I checked, there is sadly nothing inside the dark room.
Interestingly, it is not the only room with a invisble boat in Sky.
There was once a flying boat that skykids used to ride around in Day Village back in Light Awaits.
This boat used to work like a flying chat bench where up to 6 players (iirc) can ride and chat.
It was sadly removed as it apparently was causing lag/issues. However, the boat still exists, it is just invisible.
You can find this invisble boat under the island with the clapping spirit (the one to the left that has the winged light hidden behind the two player door).
Once you clip OOB, you can land on the boat and try to light the 4-6 candles (cannot recall exact amount) .
If you (and maybe a few friends) are able to light them up successfully. The boat would actually start flying around the islands.
It is a fun little trick to do that I hope still works.
Last, there is one other room I known that has a invisible secret boat.
In Season of Sanctuary island, there seems to have been an extra room that was scrapped. I dont know why or when it happened. Though would think this was likely left over from the beta of the season.
While OOB inside the main island, fly around the tunnels near the jellyfish. The boat as well as a stone frame would be somewhere around there.
Bot of these assets are fragmented (by this I mean their textures are broken and looks like it was partially erased/deleted). Bot are solid though and you can walk around them to get an idea of big they area.
The frame seems have been part of a doorway as it seems, and my interpretation is this may have been a storage room for the boat and/or some jars.
Do you have the picture?
I may have an old screenshot.
Will look for it.
This one too.. Did you know the theory?.. Big scars..
Ah, that one is an easy one to investigate in the game.
Will spoiler the likely theory for you.
To find out what happened in the game, simply look at the murals in Treasure reef.
||Based on the murals, it looks like the massive Abyss Leviathan may have attempted to attack the tower. Presumably becuase of the diamond power it could have had when it was a working light house. I take it is a light house based on its towering size and missing top that could possibly have held a diamond as a light. I believe the gashed came from the creatures horns, or jagged mouth.||
||(the leviathan is just a nickname, I dont know if there is a canon name TGC has dropped) ||
I've been trying for the life of me to get this and I can't

Last time I did this.
It is tricky keeping the candles lit while solo. But it can be done.
Having a friend would help make it easier.
Yeah, doing this solo has been hard.
Is there any Light Awaits snippets left over in Live that you know? Things such as Forest Elder's old concept mask being above their temple door
And why Only.. The SoLP spirits has been chained?..
So.. These all mysterious things is from Light Awaits?..
I rarely played Light Awaits because I didn't like the controls and my phone was pretty bad, but I think Raider is talking about leftover/old things that are still present in the game to an extent (e.g. Prairie Village boat)
Ohh.. Not just a mysterious things?.. But many things too?..
Basically, yeah. I think they're interesting like this room #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I remember reading somewhere or seeing concepts of the Little Prince spirits being mirrored versions of the Elders
The easter eggs in Forest was from an old quest (Rhythm, if I am not mistaken), same goes to the snow bird in Valley Citadel.
Another Light Awaits call back I have seen is the eel like creature in Treasure Reef.
This model used to be much much larger (as large as the whale, but much longer in body length. I imagine as big as the leviathan. Although I may be exagerating lol). It was once the creature you'd encounter the realms, similar to the Whale.
I suspect this was used to foreshadow the fight with the King, based on the old concept art for Light Awaits. But it looks like this was scrapped alongside the King. Take note, this is purely my speculation on the matter.
Another one I recall off the top of my head are a sneaky asset embeded in the walls in the point of no return tunnel in Eden.
When you are there again, I suggest shining your light on the walls for these wall pieces with diamonds on them.
Surprisingly, those wall assets were once used as the wall pieces you hide behind in the early version of Eye of Eden (the final area with the diamond and falling rocks).
Personally, I would much rather prefer those over the rubble we try to use as cover in the current Eden (especially for the last bits that are practically useless in my experience 💀 )
not all.
Light Awaits is simply an early version of the Sky we know and love today.
Think of it as similar to Minecraft. The alpha version (order of the Stone as Notch called it) change a lot over the years. The current day Minecraft is night and day when compared to that early version.
Hmm.. Mirrored versions of the Elders?.. But yeah.. I just think.. The 6 is samee..
But whyy they 6 has been chained..
If I can find it I'll send it here
but that'll be a lot of digging
Well.. Can you make it shortt?
This has been debated by theorists in this channel ever since the season launched.
My take is these chains may symbolise the spirit's vices (sins) that they hold on to and have held them back (trapped them).
Chained ghosts in fiction has been used before, notably in A Christmas Carol where a character named Jacob Marley appears as a ghost with chains wrapped around them. On these chains are material objects they refused to part with upon death. (I recommend reading the book if you are bored and want something to pass the time)
In this case, I think these chains represent the flaws each spirit had in life, that now trapped them in death.
For Narcissist, it was their narcissism and vanity (selfish and self loathe).
It is a curious detail the devs have added that was not part of the original story in the Little Prince's book.
The spirits seemingly parody the elders/realms, that was a popular theory that I have seen, yes.
Narcissist for instance seemingly represented Valley with the stage, the cheering and the showy performance.
Slightly off-topic.
The
emotes are wholesome. ❤️
I can't find the original theory but I remember reading an in-depth one somewhere on Tumblr or a google doc
Leaving this as a reminder that if I do find it I'll link it later because it was pretty good
edit:
casually scrolling through skyblr and i see like a million different theories and i start reading them all, totally getting distracted and sidetracked
From what I recall while in the lorechat at the time.
We (lorechat) were able to work out the following:
(Take note, in the event I get a detail wrong here, I'd apologise. This is a recollection from the theories and converstations.)
Lamplighter could have been Dawn. For following conflicting orders that may eventually wear them out.
Accountant could have been Day. For collecting/hoarding so many jars and flying with them on a boat.
The King could have been Forest. For having strict authority, and possibly misguided (similar to the forest possibly suffering because of the ancestors actions)
The Narcissist could have been Valley. For the performance they obsess over.
The soldier could have been Wasteland. For the war reference and dark water.
The scholar could have been Vault. For being so focused on documenting the realms, but at the time miss what is happening in the present.
@trim mural @nimble ingot at the last seasonal quest.. They introduce they 6 as the movie characters.. I wanna ask.. I never watch the movie before.. But,is those inspired characters has a bad personality?(in the Prince movie)..
I recommend searching the lorechate with key words.
It would take a lot of scrolling at times. But the conversations and theories made here may be of use.
More so if you want to know who has posted what particular theory and if they are willing to share their findings.
The season was a collab between TGC and The Little Prince franchise (the book and character).
The season roughly follows the story of the book. The movie you may be referring to (the one with the girl meeting an old man who is her neighbour), it has a different plot that the Sky season does not follow.
The season spirits are inspired by the characters the Little Prince meets while visiting the different planets.
Which in turn could be a parallel for the realms in Sky. And the characteristics of these people seem more like parodies for the season spirits to me.
For example, the King from the book and the King in the season are similar as both have no kingdom to rule over. But the king as the season spirit in Sky is obviously not the King in Sky lore (aka Eden Elder).
I would say the season is a nice take of the Little Prince story that was adapted to Sky. One that TGC established to have been one of the inspirations for the game. One that follows the core idea of Sky (to make friends and look at things through the eyes of a child, i.e. Innocence).
Assessing the season for lore is a grey area given the nature of a collab.
But that should not stop folks from looking into it for ideas (especially for fan fiction 🙂 )
I’ve seen the same thing with isle and forest switched, it makes more sense for forest at least imo
also, collab seasons can be full of lore, i mean look at aurora it literally changed the game
Hmm.. I just wonder about the chains.. Like you write before.. The spirit's vices(sins).. And ask about the characters on Prince movie personality if they have a bad personality.. I mean.. If that so.. Maybe can be one of the inspiration, the chains symbolize of it(it's just what I thought)..
I could be wrong.
As I said. This is just me recollection of the debates and theories.
Hence recommending to do one's own research and add to the topic.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message found it (?)
What about this?..@nimble ingot
Those are what fans nickname easter eggs.
They used to be part of an old quest for an older season (Rhythm, if I am not mistaken), that no longer works.
The Little Prince is a wonderful book, and the movie is very sweet. It adds a world around the book, with stop motion style inserts of the original story. Seeing the spirits in game I immediately knew which one each was as I'd read the book before. I always remember the narcissist
"I'm the best man on this planet."
"But you're the only man."
That is one of the theories at the time, yes.
Salem is very observant has good theories.
They may still be active these days, though am not sure.
You are on the right track though
It took a lot of digging but I found it; creds to Salem!

And about this one?
..
Ah, welp.
That is sadly the remains of a Light Whale

The Skull/face plates confirms this.
As for the name. We know it is canon based on the emoji
as well as the ingame spirit that you unlock by burning away the dark plants.
The spirit is called Whale Whisperer, who is one of the few spirits you dont have release cut scene, nor much explanation on what they were doing in this 'memory'.
I speculate the spirit could either have been an early version of an animal spirit that TGC defaulted to an ancestor. Or the spirit sought out the whale and stayed by their remains as a spirit. The spirit could have died when the whale crashed into the house. Or the spirit could have been eaten (this is a joke theory. I have no idea what could have actually happened).
You do see a similar set of bones in Wasteland Graveyard area, as well as in the 5th level of Vault (the one with the large memory manta/ghost manta).
However, it is possible these bones could belong to different creatures in these instances with reusing the assets.
Here are some relevant concept art
In Golden is very bigger.. Must be their boss?

In Vault the bones have a bit different shape
Possibly.
The ones in the Graveyard have been speculated to be either a larger variant of the Whale, or a different creature we have not seen before.
The skull models were made by Reika, and were claimed to be based on Turtle skulls.
Which in turn has suggested the name of these mysterious creatures to be Whurtles. (shells may not have been included for these creatures if they would be related to turtles)
We also see these skulls in Vault's Little Prince's season area (in the windy sand dunes towards Eden)
Different sizes, perhaps.
Though I am sure the models are very similar.
This one too.. A bit similar to Passage mask
Ooh, this is an easter egg reference to the old Forest Elder's design
Doesn't a "living" whale appear in Orbit?
Orbit?
Not sure.
On the way to Orbit, as you ascend past the Eden castle, yes.
Is that whole area not considered orbit?
I've always just called the entire area past the dark area where you hug the child as orbit pfftt
But yeah that's what I meant. As far as I care that confirms them canon beyond any shadow of a doubt.
Here we are. See the mask is identical to this older looks of the Forest elder during Light Awaits.
For those curious, please do have a look at the 7 days of Sky series TGC posted online.
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Seven_Days_of_Sky
Around the first time I play Sky.. There is a square water in this area.. I don't know now in which spot.. But I'm sure it's around there.. And at the water there is a spirit stone Also has been Chained too..
A part of me wishes they'd reuse some of the old Elders' concepts for future seasons
Lots of stuff in early development seemed very ambitious and way too heavy for a mobile game, but I'm glad they're slowly incorporating more and more of old concept works into the game
I have a smidge of hope
eh, it is in between.
Gameplay wise, it is ending of Eden you progress through on the way to Orbit.
However, Orbit and Eden are connected to each other and you cannot reach Orbit without Eden.
There is not a lot of things that are flat out confirmed as canon, lol.
This looks like an old OOB for Day Caves
Imagine a vulture, a lion, a moose/deer, or a lynx.
Funny enough there was once a time where you could find animal spirits (turtle, eel, and bird).
I am not sure what they were for exactly, but these were animal spirits with constellations within them in Light Awaits.
These were long since scrapped, but their constellation markers still exist in the game (all of which are in Day)
Ya.. And there is a chained stone spirit too.. At the square water..
this one?
This was an old left over asset that has been removed a while ago.
We need more Light Creatures, they're slowly breaking free of constraints
insert manatee picture here if i had one readily available on hand
I gotta go eat, lol
It has been fun seeing the chat be active with curious and wholesome folks.
If there is anything folks would like to ask, feel free to do so and I'll get back to that when I am done.
Krill are scary, but they're big and avoidable because of their size
Imagine THAT abomination running towards you at mach speed on a candle run in Forest or Wasteland
Noo.. But this one is the first time i saw too, btw,a bit like a spider
.. It's quite jumpscare at first

Not this.. Like a Realms stone spirit but chained..
hmm... if you have a picture, can you share it?
Noooo...

Are you talking about this perhaps? 👀
potato quality sorry, i have better ones on my pc but i'm not near it atm
Nooo.. It's same like Realms spirit.. But chained..
https://youtu.be/aGA0Yb2X0OQ.. I only found the Square Water.. But the Stone Spirit not there anymore..
Omg it's the first time i saw too.. But noo, nott thiss..
https://youtu.be/YxcMzSuY66c this 3 years ago.. But still, the stone spirit not there..
The model was under the water in the caves, right?
I may not have the exact picture of that particular statues.
Though it was an old version of the ancestor statues we light up for the memory.
Unless I am mistaken, the one I think you are talking about would be under the map in Day caves. Which could have been the statue for the exhausted dockworker spirit.
The stone chained spirit right above the water..
Those dark fragments were not chains.
You have the picture?
This fellow, right?
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Out_of_Bounds#:~:text=Worker Spirit (the-,SpookyBoogeyman,-) was removed. Thus
This was an older version of the 'ancestor husk' (wiki name) thas has since changed to the statue with the blue cracks we see today.
ohh my God.. My mistakee

you are ok, lol
Yess thatt oneee..
Okay next.. Since their themes is kinda cultures vibes.. The outfit, the story.. The question is.. Are they in the same era?time?,are they connected each other?.. The last one yess,it's from animation project trailer and Nintendo trailer..
ah oof. It may be best to ask someone else 😅
I may have a good grasp on concept art, art research, some game and lore history.
Although there are theorists here who have done timelines better than I would try.
My best guess of the pictures you have given, I see irl cultural inspirations for the game. But not sure how that would apply to the lore.
Namely, I see Indian/Arabic (from the turban in enchantment), possibly African (from the prophecy masks), Norwegian (from the fur coat on animation project teaser) and more. But take this with a grain of salt. Since these are mostly superficial comparisons (meaning this hardly scratches the surface).
Noo I mean in Sky..
Before has been attacked or war..
When Sky still peaceful..
I just wondering.. Are they in the same era but different clans.. Or..
And are they connected each other..
@nimble ingot but that's fine.. I understand that.. Okay last one for today..
Is this the King and the Elders?..
Sorry.
I know other folks would be able to help answer that much better than I can.
It's okayy.. They can see it.. I hope they can replay my chatt
These are their portals.
Notice there is a star on the Eden gate.
For a realm that was sealed away from the other realms, the building in Eden itself (or what is left of it) seems to suggest it was built in a time where the realm used to thrive with the other realms.
I just think.. King > Elder's > Realm Spirit..
I mean if it put on hierarchy.
Oh yeah same, I'd go as far as to say maybe the researchers in Vault were higher up in the hierarchy too than normal spirits
Hmm..
hmm.... (Just thinking don't mind me)
6 spirits + 1 guide (6 realms and 1 King): 1 season = 1 realm?
4 spirits + 1 guide = 5 realms. (Dawn and Eden be shut out?) Possibly the era without the elders for ancestors?
4 symbology.
4 seasons per year. 4 core Elements (turned into 6 + the golden light = 7)
4 cardinal directions 🧭
4 boats (common sky pattern)
4 also means death in certain Chinese culture (possible reference to the death of the King? Or the death of the old cycle/Eden?)
7 symbology.
7 days of the week (8 makes the cycle repeat and thus infinite. Also Orbit is the 8th realm. The start of a new cycle)
7 realms (now 6. So an incomplete cycle until skykids bridge that gap).
7 virtues and 7 vices? (old theory of elders).
casually inserting these here
i don't have one of eden's mural though
Can be connected.. I just think.. "maybe before the war.. King the leader, and King give leader role to Elder's for 6 Realms, and the Elder's give leader role too,to Realm Spirit"..

Also I think it's interesting how there are three diamonds here in the Citadel — I know there's a missing Elder theory somewhere and that the two halves of Sunset (Valley Elders) could represent the diamonds at the bottom whilst the one on top could be the missing Elder
Though I haven't seen much evidence outside of concept art and mentions of a "priestess" that supports this a lot
Well.. It's like Isle = can be a story the first time civilians land to Isle.. Or can be go.. before the war..
Daylight and Forest I can't make it an theory.. I'm a bit confused
Valley = it's like a Realm Only for performance..
Golden = like a Warrior training Realm..
And Vault = like a.. Every history about Sky is in there..
I just think while look at this..
I know there's some juicy stuff in those Archives, I just want to open it all

Missing Elder?.. This is the first time too, ever heard..
Based on the technology they have, I think Prophecy/Passage is first, then Flight, then Enchantment.
I have this full timeline here: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
hmm
Eden Elder is the King?
It’s believed so
Why the King create a diamond?
Many reasons, but my theory is to get a lot of power, a nearly infinite amount
I wonder what kind of power..
And in what, the King want to use it..
I just think.. It's a bit connected.. The Eden looks so badd.. Maybe the karma the King get by the diamond..
I think it’s related to the Season of Shattering, have you done those quests yet?
Yaa..
Well that’s a common symbol throughout the architecture, I think almost all the realms have something similar somewhere
BUT ALSO….
There was a theory before that the three diamond symbolism in valley and wasteland represents the valley twins and the wasteland elder
Because valley and wasteland used to be one collectively known as the golden valley
Yeah! If the theory that the decay of Wasteland appeared before the destruction, The Valley and the Wasteland might work together for the people.
But the bigger question is...
@sharp lichen
What was the cause of the decay in Wasteland?
Dont you think nightbird whisperer is the little sister of lively navigator i mean after all look at their clothing they both use the combination of blue and orange
True, but this could also just be some sort of prairie style.
Now, nightbird whisperer and bird whisperer have got to be siblings for sure!!!
THATS SO CUTE IM DRAWING THAT RN
Maybe because of Lively nav, Nightbird took up on becoming adventurous like him.
I find it more likely for bird whisperer to be the older sibling of nightbird whisperer since they have EXTREMELY similar hair styles and names which, through performance/rhythm twins logic, means they’re related. Also, orange, yellow, and blue just seems to be the general color scheme of prairie, I wouldn’t base relationship off of color too much.
Also, everything is Sky is genderless.
It’s very likely to be pollution, in the Aurora concert we see Wasteland as the only realm that’s the exact same as it is now
Do mantas get mantaernity leave?/j
Wha-
WHAT THE FROG IS THIS!!!!!!
Also, we have two of these guys now!!!!!
Edit: Sorry, I heard they changed and they looked very similar at first, but upon further inspection they haven’t changed much.
I expect to see this as an available cosmetic in the very near future.
Honestly, this is a pretty nice change.
So it's a Lorax moment?
Guys I just thought
What if someone screenshotted all of the constellations and combined them?? Like a transparent type of thing where you can see all of them??? Would it just be a big mess or make something?
I heard aurora concert is happening again, will the concert songs be the same just like before?
dancing around a shooting star, and every beancell remembers what have taken us this far
I think so? Don't recall any notice of new song s
Okee thanks
I love resh lore

Kind of, a similar thing probably happened to Eden as well
I think they fell into the Eden Diamond and became the Void of Shattering, now trying to help them fix the problems they make
OK HEAR ME OUT
so, you know how everyone wonders what the krills/leviathan were like before corruption,
WELL I THAVE A HTOERY (if someone has already said this, feel fre to tel me bc idk ;-;)
i think THIS crature that appears in vault at the end, might be it but in astral form or whatever, so here is a closer loook at it :3
I’m rereading old lore conversations….who is Grandma??
Belonging Guide
you know what'd be cool? second season of shatterin that expands on the bits of lore we got about the shatterin/corruption/fall of eden/the realms?
Absolutely: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
It’s what we call the spirit that appears at the table of belonging in forests elevated clearing.
DYFSTQRWTCJGJGOHOHOUGYFTSRSR
GAAAAASSSSSSSSPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!
Please! I want this to be my back yard!!!
WHO IS THIS!!!
It reminds me of Le Petite Prince!!!
Looks like Aurora
That too
Guys, does this map look like the concept art sketch from last time?
Could someone show me the map of the floating island from last time?

Omg tyy
I also think it was Raider here who pointed out the portals and the tower in the background
I think it’s definitely aviary
Ah
They aren’t an actual grandma, since spirits don’t have gender, but they are a grandparent
Fair enough, thank you!
I think it could be a permanent access to the concert if I’m not mistaken
I doubt it, they’ve got the orange AURORA wings for that.
No pings, gotta drive.
Why are you doing lorechat while driving??
In any case, why would Aurora be there permanently if she isn’t there to transport people to the concert?
She just wants to vibe.
That would be the cruelest thing ever tbh 😭
The aviary theories have been proven correct from the looks of the last concept art

I wasn’t, I had to stop doing lore chat so I could drive.
What if it’s just decor and we’re looking too far into it.
I just find it weird that a model of the realistic version of Aurora (not even the spirit version) is just there in Aviary
To be completely honest, it’s just concept art. No guarantees any of it will make it to live.
to wait by the return shrine with a popup when you just want to collect dailies /j
she was in the project aviary video i think
Where her arms in the first two pictures 🤨
I thini that’s the mannequin, not her
Do sky kids see the anniversary event as the birthday of their world?
It's not canon
Oh
The office area itself isn't canon either btw
I mean, it's in the game, you can use it as evidence for head canons, just not for the actual canon
I see it as celebrating the births of the first contemporary skykids and the start of their collective purpose.
👋
In the vault of knowledge, behind the locked door in the second floor, there is a big table, non of the current existing spirits can fit, and at the end of the vault, we see all of the elders, I like to think that is where they met up, but that just a personal head canon
Aw, he's there. I cannot go near there because the control too hard to control and the movement too fast 😅
Peepaw Isle representation at last 🙏
Is there a lore related reason why the candle rotation or dailies are never in Isle?
Because the Isles represent the ye ol past?
A popular theory is that Isle was rejected from the rest of community by the king.
he look creepy
Most people can assume so, but it’s not really confirmed. They share 1 name so it could be one being split into two, though most just say they are twins
is there teth forest elder lore?
Confirmed twins by ash
I think it might be gameplay (it’s wrong Isle should have dailies), but my theory is the Isle Elder doesn’t want it
Since I think the dailies and candles are organized by the Elders
Not really? The elders despite being the kingdoms version of a leader don’t really have their own personal lore than delves into their characters if that’s what you mean.
But from the surrounding areas in forest you can assume they approved the chopping of trees and mining for materials, leading to mining accidents seen with tearful and mindful miner. There’s also erosion seen in the forest too with bare roots showing, which could’ve been the reason for the mining accidents as erosion loosens rock and soil. So do with that what you will
What means twins, i bad in english
Twins means two siblings who look exactly the same
like the gender is still undefined?
Sky keeps gender ambiguous so we can make our own interpretation. So you can see the twins as bother and sister, sister and sister, brother and brother, or none
Basically there’s no right or wrong anwser
If you care about canon, then most spirits in game are referred to as they/them
Yeah
Reminder to not repost artwork without linking to the original artist
Idk who the original artist is because I found it in two different telegram groups and the author is not listed there
Still applies. Reverse image search is your friend
Twins are siblings who were born from either the same egg that split or two eggs that became ready at the same time.
Also, there is no gender in Sky.
Nothing in their names clarifies as much, and these gendered appearances you’re talking about are just man-made constructs, stereotypes. If you could please be more respectful about gender identity, especially in this context agender(something I identify as)I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
I like this one, I also noticed at the end of Eden (when the palace is destroyed and we then go up to space) there are the same Elders statues that are at the end of Vault. Maybe they meet in there too
Hi everyone
Please keep in mind that disrespectful and toxic comments about players or toward others communities are not allowed.
Thank you!
Is there a reason why shiny bois look up? And what even are they? They look like humans
They’re called lost memories in game
But memories of who?
The King's unpaid child support
Is prince season canon to everything else? If so what is dark water?
Another face detected.
I call it derpy dolphin.
I think it's more similar to pollution/industrial waste than the drinkable thing in the real world that's censored here. After all, it shimmers, similar to real world petroleum.
Overall, I think it's canon, but I think the ghostly spirit prince is probably more fitting for Sky than the green and yellow Prince.
Thank you!
lore chat i gotta question
ask away
why is it that we dont see cosmic whales in the vault, only their bones? we find their bones in hidden too, and then live ones in the junction between valley/gw and in the hidden underground
did the spirits die before the whales could get zapped into being memories? did they just waste away in the vault, and thats why theres only bones there now? even the sea slug that we dont see whole anywhere else (i got a theory about those slugs) got turned into a starry version of themselves, whats different about the whales?
this is gonna be long but i think it has to do with 1: vault is a building with tight passage ways. And 2: that the higher levels very possibly are altered. What i mean by that is purple light seen in the enchantment quest can create things out of thin air. With that knowlage, many think the higher levels in vault were changed by purple light to make it into a sort of weird dream like level. (this would also explain the endless void in wise grandparent and the remembrance rooms) And this is even more evidient we're in a completely different area after the Vault Elder cutscene. With that, the whale bones we see could be a weird figment of purple light, which could explain how its floating there, and why we dont see any cosmic whales, who would have a hard time getting into vault away, and possibly explain why the slugs are only in vault too. Not saying the entirety of the higher level's are vaults are fake, but definitely more alterd. That's my reason atleast
Ok so I totally missed season of Aurora so idk the concert this time was the same as that but this gets us a lotttt closer to the harvesting mantas for light energy or whatever theory right????
yaya i like to think it even helps solidify it pairing it with the abyss murals
Hey yall I just had question,I remember before season of remembrance there were theories about a conflict right so do the spirits in remembrance confirm that cause I haven't done that seasons quests
That's also the same net from the vortex in the sanctuary during days of nature (I think)!
Basically yeah, the soldiers we see in the Remembrance spirits are very similar/the same to the ones we see fighting
This for some unknown reason sparked the idea of poachers trying to capture Light Creatures from Sanctuary and Sanc Guide having absolutely none of it. Like the Sanctuary crew go full Home Alone on them and get them to leave out of frustration.
Is there anything outside the Skylands/Sky Kingdoms? I believe it was said that the ancestors made their way to the sky kingdom by the guidance of the elders or prince? And that there is a more earth like world outside of the cloud walled coasts. Am I wrong in this assumption?
I assume there are other lands outside of Sky's kingdom and some ancestors are implied to come from the outside but we don't know what that looks like
IntEresting
My theory is that the Sky Kingdoms (and Home) are the only places in the world.
It stems more from a narrative standpoint: why would TGC make a completely separate world from the one they're designing? If they're making a new game entirely, why not just set it in a different universe instead of tying it to the Sky world's rules?
It's a bit of a militant take but any ancestor that seems to come from "outside", like Running Wayfarer, came from Home
There may have once been other lands that no longer exist
My headcanon is that the Sky Kingdom was basically just Megabird playing The Sims until one day the Ancestors showed up, looked at Megabird's shenanigans and went "We can make a religion out of this"
The Elders are just Megabird's Sims. No I will not elaborate.
Fair, I'm not trying to relate it to other games to be clear. It's just that some spirits have masks of creatures that aren't in the sky kingdom, leading me to believe in perhaps an earth like world outside of the kingdom?
even funnier theory: the ancestors are the elders' sims and megabird thought it would be funny to make them sentient and dip (and sky kids came after megabird went "actually that looks kinda fun hang on")
ALSO OMG we need to chat about the new sunlit forest???? like the giant broken tree i need to know what happened there. i need to know about all the extra bits
Where is that? I haven't explored around the new update yet
the broken tree is at the entrance path on the boneyard end of sunlit forest, the stump looks weird though
My theory is that they’re animals that used to be in the Sky lands but went extinct
Mantas and birds survived because they could go in the air and water
That's reasonable ya, especially considering the grassy state of pre shattering isle of dawn and stuff. I've just always liked the idea that the ancestors, much like the sky creatures, were drawn to Eden, following them there
Perhaps they share the same goal?
Hello, I would like to ask a question (Sorry for my English, I'm not fluent) Are there no more living beings besides birds and other animals? We only see spirits and memories correct? so there are no more "living humanoid beings" ?
Not really, unless you count Skykids
I see....
What’s the mega bird? Been playing for like 3 years and have a 12 flap cape and still don’t understand the game or lore? On my hands and knees begging someone to explain the timeline
Trust me, not even we know the full timeline. We know enough to make inferences on some things, but for the rest of it we know just about honk all.
Megabird seems to be an originator/progenitor of The Light, an all-encompassing force which consists of all light in the world.
The most prominent place we see it as a massive supercluster of light in the game at the end credits. It’s also seen in Orbit and the Forgotten Ark murals.
Many have their own interpretations and theories on the timeline, but I’ll shout out mine: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
And Salem’s: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
THANK YOU!
Scrambling to find where the Season of Moments is placed
And here I am learning there’s an Eden elder
It’s implied that the Prairie Peaks are so far away from the Eden Diamond that they have a semi-functioning daylight cycle, similar to Home. So, it was probably a very isolated and remote area.
The camera technology is the most difficult to parse. The closest thing in technology is the electric guitar, but I don’t think it took place around the same time as Performance.
We see Jolly Geologist happily dancing around when they find a giant darkstone crystal. The darkstone prop they have would be a bit odd to carry around when that same darkstone caused the literal end of the world.
Because of this, I think Season of Moments didn’t come too early in the timeline since of the technology shown, but it didn’t come too late that the negative consequences of darkstone mining were fully realized. That’s why I’m putting it near the Age of Contrasts, sometime before the war but after the earliest seasons
7 realms, an elder for each realm, who would’ve guessed
The most prominent place we see the Eden Elder is in the white candle murals after the first part in Eden (in the small hut with the singular winged light).
They’re also implied in other seasons, like Prophecy and Shattering, where they appear as a four-pointed star
That’s all we know from the base game, but the concept art named them Prince, and you had to dodge attacks in Eden from a corrupted version known as the King
There are many reasons why it’s not here now, one being that Eden is already so intense
Thank you for mentioning mine :3 💛
Obviously
Hiii i have a question about the statues in eye of eden. What is the meaning of we give wl to them?Is these are ancient spirits or other skykids(or the prince)?
They appear to be other Skykids when we free them, like us, possibly an older/more archaic version
ty but i am comfused about the reason why they are trapped in these statues and why we can use wl(or lost memories?)to free them
le boo, I AM ALIVE ONCE AGAIn
w.what!¿¿! but i had ended with you! i saw you die!
evil le laughter you really tought i was gone!
wrong!
th eplot thickens

WHAT DID YOU DO!!??!???!
WHY ARE THERE TWO OF YOU!!!!!!??!!???!!!
Not even the Inconceivable Ones understand!!!!!!
AND THEY KNOW EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!
You know how we turn into statues when we die/run out of wl in Eden? Basically the same thing. Giving them wl allows them to ascend (I think
)
Yeah. You fly with them in orbit and see them burst out in the animation.
Guys this is an SUPER DUPER VERY important question ‼️/j would you consider valley elder (this one
) to have a FAB or if they even have a bob at all
e-esther.. i- i can expl-
HAAHAH of course, of course you forgot about me, of course you never told anyone anything, OF COURSE
poor silly artur, BUT IM BACK, am i right? there is a lot of time for explaining later >>:)
(disclaimer: this is a performance)
Hello loreful pals
When we die, we turn into those same statues
I think the WL allows the Skykids to “jump-start” their light, giving them bonus light in the Orbit sequence
WHATS A FAB???
You mean this??
If so, then why did the first skykid go eden?Actually that's what I thought at first, but this question makes me puzzled...And what is the meaning of the constant salvation and rebirth?
They probably went for the same reason the Spirits go to Eden: to ascend to the stars
Since they have bangs I wouldn’t say so? Idk if it would count as a Bob cuz their hair doesn’t really go straight down
That doesn't convince me but thank you very much... I think I need some time to think about these things
In the tips, it says that going to Orbit is our “destiny” if it helps clarify
Also, you only “canonically” have to go to Eden once
y..yyou monster!
I’ve told you countless times! Don’t mess with that thing cause it’s never gonna be good!!! And what do ya do?
YOU MESS WITH THE THING!!!!!!
I-i am sorry!!!
AHAHAHAHA
Luckily, I have measures I’m able to take in order to counteract this impure presence!
We start with embellishing the leaves with the kaleidoscopic symbols of suns, moons, and lone stars.
you fool!
i am nothing but. a reflex of artur!
i am him
he is me
Yes, and I must banish the crooked presence from this server.
Quite annoying to have something shouting second handed insults at another whilst trying to theorize.
Our next step is to release the substance of life inside a higher entity.
It’s form will target the impurity and restrain it in place.
WE ARE ONE
IF I DIE
HE WILL DIE WITH ME
NOT TRUE!!!
I AM NOT LIKE YOU!!! I WILL NEVER BE LIKE YOU!!!
This isn’t death, this is separation. You will live out many life times within the realm of Voc Noc Tormert! How fun!!!!
Finally, recite a thought of phrase:
Endless remedy from which it sought. The eyes seeping into whomst disguised a precedent of fear and joyful clamors. Mirrors cry for this Inconceivable One encores it’s wrath upon a soul of vile impurity. Luck falters in your hands, not even will can keep it standing in your grasp.
Goodbye!!!
//What the honnk is happening XD
Moral of the story: don’t mess around with eldritch entities. If one tells you not to touch something, DONT TOUCH IT!
agressive uwu
Wot.
(bruh wrong accoutn
Oh, I see.
nnnOOOOOOOOOOO

Ok, now seriously, this isn’t a role play server. I probably shouldn’t have even engaged.
..
true

wel.. TEHCNICALLY this is lore 🙂
No, it's simulation/j
It’s existential joy./j
It isn’t lupus though, it’s never lupus /ref
What happened here
I have absolutely no idea
uhh
eden crystal!
yea!
you sniffed eden crystal :·

What made the "playmates" of the Passage spirits unqualified to do Passages as well? Are they the wrong age? Did they already do the Passage before them?
Maybe it was selective. We don't see many people doing these Passage trials so that's what I assume- maybe a certain amount are admitted each year/season
And all the kids seem to be pretty strong in some way- like how in one spirit memory, one of the kids beats the playmates at pull ups
How about Mope? Why do you think they were selected?
They could have strengths too! I believe the spirit memories shown and the representation of spirits is biased in seasons, as its fragments of the guide's memory. So I assume that the guide picked up Mope's emotional traits over their physical traits- but it doesn't mean they have none
That's a really interesting theory!
lmao buff Mope
Do you guys think the clouds that breakup the sky kingdom exists all across the world of sky? Or do you think that is exclusive to the lands by Eden?
I feel like each area is its own relm because some areas have day and night sycles others don’t and the speed in which the pass varies from place to place
Take prarie peaks and paradise islands both in daylight prairie but the peaks timezone passes by in minutes per day cycle Meanwhile paradise takes closer to half an hour to make one cycle
It depends on whether you think there is any land beyond the 7 realms
I personally always thought the time cycle differentiations were relative to gameplay experience and not lore, but that's a cool idea
I think that the farther away a place is from Eden, the more normal the time cycle.
I think Eden is distorting and messing up time, causing things like permanent sunsets.
Sanctuary Islands isn’t too far distance wise, but it’s at the very surface level of the world, so it doesn’t feel the time distortion effects as much
Prairie Peaks is even farther away, so the time cycle is almost like ours but shorter
Meanwhile, Home is so far away that time progresses normally
I do, figure the ancestors had to come from somewhere
They came from THE STARS
It literally says we hail from the stars when your in the tutorial
What about the Home island. The Sky world seems to have seen a sea level rise, maybe it used to be a bigger landmass? After all, it’s where we come as well
They did yes, but did it say they landed within the sky kingdom? I forget
Yes it does
However, the intro cutscene also says “all are born from starlight”, so they probably landed like us
my point exactly
I don't imagine the ones we see in memories fell like us outside of a few like prophecy guide, the rest would probably be descendants of the fallen no?
That doesn’t mean that they didn’t originally come from the stars
Depends on how you view the Ancestor Spirit’s lifespan, they clearly age like humans, but it’s possible they each descended at a different time
Although since they are now spirits their clearly all dead so whats age ?
I’d imagine that after they die, they stopped aging
Thats the joke im makeing
I see that Granny did a little redecorating in her little area
Granny saw the skykids playing in the water and made another water area for us lol
I wonder if the flight guide could be somewhat related to the rythym and performance siblings, only thinking about it due to the feather accessories in the hair lol, maybe a cousin or aunt
I mean, maybe? But I have a hunch they’re related to the Yeti
Because all the other Wind Paths connections makes sense through the Sky world.
But the Hermit Valley? It’s so far away from the rest of The Valley, even the Village of Dreams. I think one of the Flight crew is related to the Bearhug Hermit, and established a connection so they could meet more easily
Hi I was just wondering
if a sky kid originally belongs to the darkness
Since it's weird that we have inside of us both the darkness and the light but somehow we get attacked by any dark creature and get ignored by it once we lose the light ,
Both light and darkness should be together without any problems yet it isn't but we still manage to have both
Another thing is , the light might be hurtful to us
We are living only living through the light
We can't even see each other or how we look like only by using the light ( candles)
So the light keeps hiding many stuff like how other players look like , areas , creatures and many more
Light might be deceiving the sky kids by making them believe that they're our hope but makes us suffer in a way
, Exemple : after finishing Eden we have to be reborn and do the same thing and go through everything again just to get lost light , why can't we live that once ? Isn't it frustrating for the kids to relive the pain and memories all over again and just making us do the same thing always, there's even some drawings showing how kids should only follow the light ignoring the fact that we have the darkness in us too
This war between the light and darkness may be even caused because of the light, always bringing attention to them and making us belive the darkness is our enemy
The krills see us as enemys only when we have the light on us and are guardians protecting their areas , but from what?
The areas does seem like it was originally a Castle but wasn't it in the sky?
Everything is damaged there bc smth attacked it , the light
The light wanted us to have that part of the areas but the krills keep guarding there
Also the atmosphere here seems like it's darkness but filled with the light making it green
Idk I might be just telling silly stuff
But I believe that the light isn't a very good thing to follow
I think that canonically, we only have to go through Eden once. The “cycle” seems to be more of a gameplay thing that the players do upon themselves then a lore reason.
My belief is that darkness and light are enemies to each other, if we played as a creature of darkness we would view the light in a bad way.
However, the light aids us physically (by recharging our energy) and socially (by giving us friendships and bonds with others)
me when i go on a candle run and randomly get hit with The Realization
Yeah, that’s probably why there’s no leaves anymore on the trees
(This is still a really cool hidden detail)
skykids are candle holders
that is my lore
you guys can stew on that
You're so right
We love lore (WLL)
I read the latest comments and I have an opinion to share. Please bear with me.
- With reference to AURORA's hidden quest, I have come to notice a few things.
The spirits were originally inhabited- Isle of Dawn and maybe Daylight Prairie.
The kid runs to the ramp to get on the boat leaving for the temple after burying(?) the adult. By the looks of it, Isle of dawn had no more resources left to sustain the life which is why the elder died in the first place.
- The 2nd quest is held in the Underground Cavern of Hidden forest (this is also where we start to see remnants of animals and crabs and broken trees).
The quest shows how they were mining some rock and at last the spirit is shown to pet baby manta(?)
Theory: After losing their habitat they started to move onto different realms with their gift of communicating with animals and craftsmanship. They came across a hidden forest having tons of minerals which is why an underground cavern to mine things.
The whale(?) bone near the temple shows due to poison rain the animals started to die which further started to ruin the ecosystem. The construction of the temple would have cost much pollution. Hence, polluted rain aka acid rain.
- Valley of Triumph remains out of suspicion as it's primarily based on valor and love of warriors and athletes.
- Golden Wasteland
If wasteland, why golden? That too, it's greenish hue and not golden.
I think the reason why krill and crabs attack us is due to hatred. AURORA last quest, the song which plays is the seed of the child or something. The lyrics hold too much of meaning to dismiss it as whatever. The elders got greedy and tried to takeover the golden land abundance of minerals, food and fresh water.
The creatures residing in that place however were very protective of their land.
Battle ensued. People died and so did creatures poisoning the water. The creatures that survived fed on that very water and turned into 'Dark' creatures. Bearing hatred in their mind which leads them to attack us upon mere sight of the light.
- Vault of Knowledge was created with the hopes of 'child of light' to help them recover their lost kingdom of Sky, like a library.
I haven't been to Eye of Eden so no comments about that.
I believe that songs of AURORA and the visuals (during the quest and concert) are no mere coincidence. Those are purposely put together.
AURORA is kind of an overseer and wants us to realise the actual truth.
Like that of Frozen 2.
This….actuallly makes an awful lot of sense
Sky Lore explanation Part 3 is ready; https://www.reddit.com/r/SkyGame/comments/15z4nmx/sky_lore_explained_in_depth_part_3/
thank you!
where might part 1 and part 2 be?
Search my name in this group, you find it easily
thank you
Aurora is a lore theorist confirmed
:p
Wai wh-
TOLD YA
Though Eden will also reveal something more interesting, including a ||hidden Elder||
So if you can, it would be mighty interesting for you to go there
WOOAAAHH
Is so nice to see a lore moth discovering things
enev tho im a lore moth myself
hehe
Did you really click the spoiler box? 😭
okay so @willow pumice selfish veteran your lore was SUPERB it was REALLY IN DEPTH 4 years of playing the game was like it was in every single word you wrote.
Thank you so much 🙂
I will make a sky lore video soon too
I’m gonna be the first to watch it then
I planned this lore series to be about 6-7 parts, so i will write a new part each week
I could see how you went into the elders and their abilities PS: I never like the elder of hidden forest a lil too excited and egoistic if i may say.
also, when you said crystals did you mean those crystals in prairie peaks? the jolly geologist cave?
the idea of manta being tamed was awesome too just like pavlov's dog
and in the AURORA quest 2 you can see people mining in underground cavern of hidden forest and the baby mantas being pet by a spirit
I think your lore also explains the need of treehouse and scouts all over the hidden forest
The crystals are also seen in the Aurora Concert quest 2
Yes
yes yes yes
But I think the Treehouse is there mostly for recreational purposes, they seem to be based on real life Boy Scouts
It could be yes
but if we were to take into account that greed was major reason as to why the 'kingdom' of sky fell into ruin + the 'little prince' event + the need to look through hidden forest for minerals, that would provide enough ground for NEED of scouts
apart from the theorisation, since it is a hidden forest, people could get lost in it every now and then also there could be danger of animals/ creatures (eg crabs) for which scouts were introduced to keep them safe
Now, if and only if there was a gate connecting The Treehouse and The Elevated Clearing, things would get easier
Also, wind paths that place is really secluded for people to inhabitat
also also, what is that hideous creature flying around when transitioning from valley of triumph to golden wasteland
I think it’s a
I like the fact that there are 331 others who thought the same as me albeit im quite late
They are a whale, and do not call them hideous, they have feelings and you are hurting them.
No i will@
In the aurora scenes they show a battle, what exactly are they fighting? Because for me it seems like they were fighting each other and that one manta
It seems like they were fighting each other, the mantas must have been collateral damage or mounts
…
I see coliseum full of kykids..
Andi think to myself:
“Damn, idk if they are here, or are concius we are here, but im sure that
and
would be very happy to see the colliseum full of life cheers persons and stuff once again”
And then my internet pops my bubble
And i wake up
Alone
With no one sround
Just like before
/lh
I’ve also had this thought before! It makes me sad but also happy to think about.
Yup
Sky:cotl expectations: a nice calm realxing game abt flying and making friends

Sky’s reality: war, contamination, animal 3xpl0tat10n, death, corruptness of the powerful ones

Okaaayy I apologise whales in golden wasteland!!
Mama forest shakes their head in disaprovement
As I was paying attention to the concert I’m convinced that the elders played a game of mess around and find out
I think Aurora represents the creation of life or god in this sense and didn’t like the way nature was being treated so she punished which caused the war in Golden Wasteland scene. It seems they were fighting against mantas but I also saw a soldier about to be stabbed in the back by another. So I’m assuming they were not only fighting against Mantas but also fighting against those who opposed the bad treatment of nature.
Something that I do question, was the corrupt crystal the result of the continuous harvesting of the blue crystal? Because we see in the Hidden Forest scene that the blue crystal also grew there and they were harvesting it while others were praying to the jellyfish.
Yes, I think so, we also see it in Prairie Peaks
This makes a lot of sense to me because I have always had the feeling that the krill were protecting something. And we can also say that the green air is the result of pollution that took place when the Sky people were taking things from it
yep, the concert shows how the civilization lost their connection with nature and exploited the environment over time with disastrous results
I wonder how pretty golden wasteland would be pre-pollution and war
I do remember the lore regarding the golden city not sure if that was concept art stuff.
Also if you frequently do the Shard quests you see how the elders died over that dark crystal and you see the effects the dark crystal had on the animals. I think you also see some of the animals just straight up leaving
Leaving?
Omg it's like the Lorax. The animals all leave to find a better place. I suppose sanctuary islands could be called that for a reason.
in some shard memories you see animals that look like they are leaving
I guess it’s more migrating, but yeah
can anyone explain sky lore to me
This is a basic document that explains some elements: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
If you want a simple story summary:
There was an ancient race of Ancestors that built the kingdoms of Sky. They built a massive diamond at the top of the mountain at Eden to try to get more light, but it backfired and exploded, causing darkness shards to spread everywhere. The Ancestors got trapped and became spirits. Then, we the Skykids are trying to save the Sky world
ohh thats so cool
if u have some more docs to share, I would appreciate jt
im a bit more curious now
Make sure to check the pinned messages for links to concept art!
I GOT ACCESS TO THE MONOPOLY FANFIC

Do we know how the ancestors boats worked before the introduction of darkstone? I use to think they just used the butterflies in jars but during the Aurora concerts first song you see some flying without jars? Are they using they using the radiant light of the birds to follow them or something?
Perhaps there were no boats before darkstone
Isn't the isle scene in the Aurora concert pre darkstone?
Even in the Switch Trailer, we see boats being used
After all, even in Isle itself, there’s darkstone sporadically
Perhaps they could have been pulled by Light Creatures, like the Flight boat?
Oh, really? Where can I know about this(sorry I see your message just now)
I do think riding the light current from migrating birds, pulled along by mantas, or butterfly jars seem the most viable when soaring over the clouds
It’s more a gameplay thing, the AC can be gone through shards, if you want, you don’t have to go to Eden again
I think they are driven by light, which is collected by lightcatchers
But we see them being ridden on their own
The theory that Sky is a “cycle” is not one that holds much ground to me
But I think there are two ways to get ac just goes to show that the two behaviors are somehow similar (such as they both clear the darkness or bring light?)
Who’s the Elder Eden name
There are 2 different ideas on this. I believe Canonically they are named after their home "Isle, Prairie, Forest, Valley, Wastes, and Vault. Of course Wastes and vaults names would have been subject to change as the world did.
The other option is the names Daleth, Ayin, Teth, Samekh (Sa and Mekh), Tsadi, and Lamed. This follows the same order as the last one
The second naming convention however is no longer cannon as it was only concept and has since been changed. People still use it tho
I saw on the tumblr post the Eden Elder is confirmed to be this “name” i forgot, but lemme post it later
Was the Eden Elder corrupted or he chose to lead destruction across the sky realms? Wasn’t he consumed by greed
So the Eden elder is Resh if we are looking at the old naming conventions. There is 2 current theories with him. He was either the prince Alef that fell from the sky as the first child of light and both names are alias meant to represent his cruel ambition, and his childlike wonder. The other line of thinking is they are seperate people that worked together in the end, but the first explanation is more likely.
And he wasn't so much corrupted as he was ambitions. When he discovered darkstone he had good intentions of innovation and expansion, but it came at the price of pollution and light consumption. They needed more light so they overused the light of the land and creatures, draining it from the world. What was once a novel pursuit of progress turned into abandoning "fire worship" dropping the old god, and considering light creatures tools more than sacred companions
didn’t know there was a price for a wish
so many sacrifices just like the lorax 🗿
why’s the forest always raining
The forest has always been cloaked in darkness, however there is some old art of ancestors handling the rain no problem once the prince helped carve a way through the forest. I think it now damages people from the pollution of the industrialization. There are 2 types of water in sky, normal and dark water. Dark water is polluted water that hurts people. It is possible the rain in the forest has now become acid rain, as the water has been full of runoff, trash, and toxins
It is also eluded to that a spirit and maybe others used the dark water to "forget" which either implies it has properties that screw with memories or, in my personal opinion the more interesting option, was drunken by those after the ear as a way to slowly kill themselves so they did not have to live in a shattered world
It’s not always, in the Sky animation project it’s clear
True, the rain was only sometimes, never use to be always. At least not before it was dark water
When we hold an umbrella and stand in water in forest, we didn't lose light, so I think the rain is different from darkwater
Do we experience damage from the water before the first temple once we clear the rain?
Because if it does damage you, without the umbrella, it may just be a weird umbrella feature
I find another fact to prove my guess: the water in the forest is clear, while the darkwater in gw has colorful eerie light
I really wanna learn the lore but I don’t know where to start, so could someone send me either a link to see a summary/ starting point?
Nevermind found this
random but do we know the names of the elders?
They are as stated in game [Insert Respective Realm] Elder.
However, some people refer to them by the Hebrew placeholders(?) seen in an old concept art. Though they are not canon, they are accepted in the community as a way to refer to them.
No but there are a couple different fanon names for them #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Can you do that again? The concert is a good chance
But this time, Aurora at home will be better
Thanks
Maybe if I have time. School recently started like more than a week ago.
Honestly leaves me mentally exhausted after doing so much homework!
(I say that like I’m swimming in metaphorical educational debt! I’m not!)
Nvm, just snap it first, and do it later, I'm not hurrying
appears and pings the wall I am here to spread goodness and love, as well as say that the minigames are wonderful
Also for what ever reason for at least my account, after the first song where there was supposed to have multiple people flying around during the songs there was none until Aurora showed up :3
not really, we only get snippits of what they're like in their memory. But depending on the content of said memory we can come to conclusions of their charater if that makes sence
We've been told there's a story behind every spirit that's developed as the season is being developed, but how much of that story is hinted at in the final season depends, and sometimes we get more from devs like Ash if it comes up.
dont fear my friend!
i will do it for sther!
Here you have!
You’re welcome 😄

Has anyone actually seen the residents of sky farm?? Like, do they just farm mushrooms and butterflies or is that just my bad memory
actually no , any glimpse into their daily life helps a lot
i want to do a sky X bfdi crossover au and i need all the lore I can get ( especially if it's related to like, the vault of knowledge)
